((IC thread: http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?p=540898#post540898))

I just want to point out that the following is meant to be a 'fan-made' final fantasy roleplay that has little, if any, connection to the other final fantasy games. As such, feel free to join in even if you have limited knowledge of the series.
However, i do wish to point out that this is going to be a much 'darker' entry hence the rating.

Disclaimer: The following roleplay will contain depictions of graphic violence, Course Language, mature situations and Horror themes. You have been warned.

"Long ago, in a time long since past, was the age of heroes: Magic was still prominent in the land, and many brave and bold warriors stepped forward at their chances for glory by taking down the many beasts that roamed the world we now call Void. It was known by a different name back then, but it has been lost to time. It was a simpler time where magic was commonplace and swords were still commonly used in place of firearms. And while it was far from perfect, it was peaceful and a haven that was defined by its balance. But...it was not to last.

The heroes soon became gluttonous and slothful, believing it was their right to rule the world around them. The citizens became powerless underneath them and were soon reduced to nothing but slaves: The heroes abused their power and skills, living lives of luxury while normal citizens, even those of nobility, were soon reduced to complete poverty. Most heroes had ceased fighting monsters as well, allowing there populations to grow to proportions that had not been seen since the dawn of humanity itself. Villages were attacked, and yet the heroes continued to not act, to absorbed in their lives of luxury to care. By the time the heroes were readying themselves for battle, the empire of man had all but crumbled into a shadow of its former glory.
They banded together against the hordes of monsters, alongside their children and elders in a final effort to drive back the hordes. The battle was said to have gone on for centuries with one monster falling for every seven heroes, while those who remained offered silent prayers to the goddess that remained unanswered: We had shown ourselves unworthy of their help, so she turned their backs on us.

Maybe that's why the divine ones allowed the world to be swept clear, to give the world a chance to start again. And perhaps, just maybe, to give our race a chance to start again. And with the death of the Heroes, humanity banded together...thus creating the Empire of Tyra, named after the Goddess.

This was all a long time ago though, and we have grown much since then: We have grown, reclaimed some of our old cities and ways of life..but our world remains a near wasteland with only a few cities doting the landscape, ruins mostly.
Other races have been encountered: Some friendly, others not so much, but all of them as unique and odd as the last. All we know is that maybe, one day, when the Goddess Tyra redeems us then perhaps a second Age of Heroes, one that will not repeat the mistakes of the first, will become a reality."

-"A history of Void" by King Spiradin the II, D.O.A unknown.

----

The human empire of Tyra has stood for well over a millenia and has grown into a powerful force of Technology and magic, fueled by its loyal followers. The current Monarch has begun expanding it's forces into the more lawless regions of the Empire, hoping to make them 'See the error of their depravity'. This has created tensions among the human settlements outside of the capital city of spiridan: A rebel group, dubbed only as 'The Heroes', have begun fighting back for the past ten years against the brutal regime of Tyra and it's military. In the background lurks "The Prophets", an ancient order left behind from the age of heroes and has been allowed to continue functioning. They are secretly funding both sides of the conflict, extending it for their own purposes. What this purpose is though, remains a mystery.

The city of Spiridan, one of the few ruined cities and settlements that were able to be repopulated after the age of heroes.
It is a city of giant metal buildings, the palace itself having been rebuilt to appear more like a giant skyscraper that towers above all other buildings. There is a large wall surrounding it in order to stop monsters from outside attacking as well as ensure that anyone who passes through into the city has to be checked first to make sure they are 'suitable'. On the far east of the city is the port, which connects to the ocean: It has become contaminated in recent years due to exposure to fumes and toxic waste from Spiridan, but it constantly filtered into the city through a cleaning plant to supply the city with constant water should it be required by it's citizens.

Some of the other races have chosen to either involve themselves in the conflict on a particular side, or have decided to remain neutral or simply offer mercenaries to the highest bidder.
With the world on the brink of civil war, one group of individuals will be forced to band together to put a stop to the prophets and unravel there scheme before the war between Tyra and it’s enemies sends the world spiraling into oblivion.

----

1. Do not powerplay or Godmod, otherwise consider yourself kicked out of the roleplay.
2. You are not allowed to kill another persons character unless it is consented to by both players. If it is done without consent of both players, there will be consequences
3. Races are currently a blank slate, so I'll leave it up to the player to decide what race their character is (Chocobo's will be present in their normal capacity as mounts and i am considering moogles to, but have yet to figure out how to intergrate them. If you have any idea's for moogles or want to play one, don't hesitate to make suggestions): However, i will ask that you try to fit it into the setting and don't rip them off from another setting entirely. While you are allowed to base another race off another or use more common ones (Eg. Elves, Cat-people, etc.) don't just go stealing established ones from other media (Eg. Wookies from Star wars, Krogan from Mass effect, etc).
4. By extension: Please don't use a reference/character that was from another final fantasy game. This is meant to be another entry into the series that we are making: So why be cloud or squall when you can be whoever you want to be?
5. Yes, firearms do exist and are at a level similiar to that of our current time period. Motor-vehicles are present to, but most of them are reserved for Tyra's nobility or military. So, while nearly any character will be allowed to use guns, don't go for anything to overpowered (Eg. Rocket Launchers, miniguns, laser canons). Spells also exist and are mostly the same as the rest of the final fantasy series but i am allowing a bit more leeway with them. That said though, no spells are capable of causing instant death, so those types of spells are disallowed.
6. While there isn't a levelling system formerly in place, you can’t start off with every ability known to man.Your character will be able to evolve and grow over the course of the roleplay though and learn abilities from other party members/people through training. That said though, this is going to take more then one post of training to accomplish (More along the lines of three pages of your character training that skill with another who knows it). Yet, your character won’t be able to learn everything.
7. A max of two characters per person (not including NPC's).
8. Apart from these, just follow the forums rules and have fun cause that's what we're here for. Don't worry, while it may look like alot of rules I'm a nice guy (Really! ^^). So please, if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask me.

These are basic setups for how you wish to play your character or how they choose to fight. To start with, a character will be ‘locked’ to simply using the fighting style of their chosen archtype

Fighter: A well-rounded physical combatant who specializes in the use of swords (Both one handed and two handed) and axes (Both one handed and two handed) and are the only archtype that uses shields. They are solid combatants who are capable of holding there own, but lack the range of the Dragoon due to their weapon types.

Dragoon: Like the fighter, these are tough combatants who specialize in close-quarters combat: Unlike Fighters, they are limited to wielding only Lances and spears but they are capable of keeping enemies at bay much more easily due to their weapon choice. Dragoons normally wear, depending on culture and employment, heavy armor and are normally the archtype that has the most defense.

Thief: A nimble and agile physical combatant whose main weapon includes daggers, claws or short swords. They are the more agile combatants, and are normally found picking the pockets of others around them making them highly sought after by the criminal underworld and as spies in both sides of the conflict. They are capable of dual wielding any combination of the weapons that they have available to them.

Ranger:A specialist in long-ranged weapons—such as bows, crossbows and most commonly guns (, This is one of the most common archtype of the humans, most of them equipped with guns but it is still not uncommon to see a ranger use a bow of some variety: For as old as the weapon is, it has never truly lost its uses. They are capable of dual wielding guns of the one handed variety, most commonly pistols.

Black Mage: A magic user specializing in attack magic: Even in an age where technology is used commonly, Magic is still relied upon by the people of Void. While humans rarely undertake this archtype, mostly being used by other races, it is not entirely uncommon to see a human master the arts of magic. Commonly utilized rods, staffs and daggers in battle.

White Mage: A magic user specialising in healing and defensive spells: They are not as attack oriented as their other counterparts, but they are still able to utilize spells to disorient or weaken any enemies they encounter. Normally use staves, rods, daggers or maces in battle

There are only two magic school types that remain after the fall of the age of heroes: White and black. Both of them have specific abilities unique to them and to start with only three can be chosen to start. As the roleplay progresses and by training your character/progressing through chapters, they will be able to gain new abilities.

White Mage: (“Recurring spells” only): http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/White_Magic#Spells_List

Name:Glaw Ingoedd
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Race Description: (Not required if character is human)
Archtype: Fighter
Weapon: http://www.gmbase.com/bbs/upload/20111319373124.jpg

At one point in his life, Glaw wielded a short sword and a handgun as most soldiers of the Tyra's military did. However, after his wifes betrayal and his disillusionment, Glaw has switched to instead wielding a two handed blade that he was able to find in the wastes of Void outside of the capital. While possessing no magical qualities, it is surprisingly sturdy for a weapon that is quite old and also quite sharp to.
Glaw normally keeps this weapon sheathed on his back, but at times he is known to carry it around and drag it along the ground behind him.

Personality: Glaw is quite different from the usual party leaders of past series entries, having little in common with those of previous games like Tidus or Vaan. He had been like them once: Innocent and wide-eyed, although not very talkative due to his traumatic past. Yet, it was the betrayal of his wife and death of his daughter that changed all that.
He is a man who has lost absolutely everything he held dear, and as a result he has grown to be very serious and not very talkative. He rarely talks unless he has something that needs to be said and doesn't start conversations easily, normally choosing to avoid them completely. His only motivation for doing what he does is for revenge: Against both the rebels and also, most importantly, his Ex-wife, whom he blames for the death of his daughter. While his hatred for the rebels was always present, he was still capable of some mercy and compassion with them in the past. Now though, he has no mercy and seems to only keep himself alive just to keep killing them and do all he can to undo them. He shows a much darker and sadistic side when dealing with Rebel members, not above threatening families or executions to get his way.

While he hates the rebel faction with all his heart, he has also become disillusioned with Tyra's empire, which was why he left behind his career as a soldier. That said though, he doesn't hold hatred for the Empire and is even capable of showing some small shreds of humanity if around soldiers or old comrades. Anyone outside of either faction he is indifferent to, such as other party members and merchants. But, if one gains his trust, a task that is far from easy, they will gain a loyal but powerful ally.
Biography: Glaw had been born in a small town outside of Spiridan that had been loyal supporters of the Empire. His father was a soldier posted in the town and his mother ran a small delivery service, he even had an elder sister named Selena. It was a peaceful place that did what it could to serve and supply the empire, and in return the empire didn't subjugate it as it did other towns, allowing it to continue functioning as it normally did.
Yet, one day when Glaw was eight, the Rebellious "Heroes" arrived at the town and offered it a choice: Side with them, or the town would be destroyed to serve as an example as to what happened to those loyal to the empire. The entire town refused to co-operate with them and prepared to stand their ground. Unfortunately, the rebels had prepared for this and launched a sneak attack. The town wasn't made as a military installation after all, and so it only had very basic defenses, so it took only half a day for the battle to be over and the town to be burnt to the ground. Glaw lost his family in the attack but was able to escape with a band of survivors to Spiridan and were offered sanctuary there. But the events there created a hatred in Glaw, and a desire to protect the Empires citizens: He came to believe that "The heroes" were made up of those threatened to fight or die, and thus strived to become a soldier to 'free them' from their 'enslavement'. When he was eighteen he signed up almost immediately, and strove to be as good a soldier as he could be.

While Glaw was an eager soldier, he was not cruel: For while he did kill many rebels in his career he didn't take any pleasure in it, and even offered some mercy to those that he fought. This did put him at odds with other members of the military, but he ultimately got along well with them and didn't do anything that would have gotten him discharged. He was a loyal one after all, and the Empire wasn't one to turn away loyalty.
At the age of twenty, while stationed in one of the towns outside of Spiridan, he met a woman that was a bit older (Twenty-three) then he was: She was, atleast from what he could see, a merchant but a loyal imperial nonetheless (Or so he thought). The two hit it off rather quickly, growing close and a year and a half later married one another. Glaw remained stationed there for five years, at the end of which he and the woman he loved had a child: A daughter.
Not wanting to be separated from the woman he loved and his daughter, he took them back to Spiridan with him and resigned military service that same year. While his superiors were disappointed, they understood and respected his decision and allowed him to leave. As he was only a corporal at the time and hadn't learned any major secrets of the Empire, they didn't hunt him down or assassinate him.
Two years later, his wife was discovered to be heavily involved as a rebel member and had also used Glaws career as a soldier to get information during the course of the relationship. Feeling Betrayed, Glaw took his daughter and fled to one of the towns far from spiridan, ending his relationship with his wife. Getting a job running a local store, he begun his new life and cut all ties to his old one.

It was four years later that rebels attacked: Only this time, his former wife was leading the group. Fearing history would repeat itself, Glaw grabbed his daughter and a handgun before fleeing. He avoided fighting and focused only on escape, until his daughter was accidentally hit by a stray bullet, killing her. Enraged, Glaw charged blindly into a group lead by his wife but was cut down and left for dead.

He woke up two days later in a medical center, being treated for wounds: The doctors explained they had tried to save his daughter, but there efforts hadn't yielded results. They gave him the pendant that she had worn as a memento, and simply left him to his grief. As he left the hospital, he wandered the wastes outside the town for a time until he found a sword that had been dropped from one of the trading caravans. Taking the blade, and with only anger and vengeance in his heart, Glaw begun his one man war against "The Heroes" and his wife, taking up mercenary jobs and requests irregularly in order to gain funds. But just how long can he fight this war alone?

Appearance: http://i495.photobucket.com/albums/rr318/slayor_103/anime/AdiKartika_by_virus_AC74.jpg

Glaw is a man who has lost everything, as can be seen from his soulless brown gaze and normally expressionless face. He has a scar just above his left eye, a sign of the injury he sustained in the one battle that changed his entire life to what it now was. His hair is colored brown and remains uncombed, normally covering his eyes when in public and just adding to his rather intimidating image.

He wears a dark Grey sleeveless collared shirt with matching colored pants and black boots, while on his left arm is a tattoo, the mark that one is always given upon graduation from a rookie to a corporal. Below this is a bandage to a wound he received, using the bandage to cover his scar. He also wears fingerless gloves on both hands due to the fact he has to wield a sword, making sure his fingers and hands don't become blistered from the constant fighting. His final item is a small pendant he wears around his neck: This had once belonged to his daughter, but now just remains as a tragic memento to all that he has lost.

Why not submit it for Roleplay of the Week (http://www.role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=905) or put it in the Roleplaying Games Directory (http://www.role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=2304) or click here (http://www.role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=3975) to help attract players?

Just a question, is it possible for a class to use equipment outside their achetypes? Like Rangers with swords or something similar.

...I'd prefer that people stick to their chosen archtype weapon choices: The archtypes are basically meant to represent a characters fighting style. So, if you were considering making a class like the ranger that specializes in swords then the thief archtype would probably be the best choice as an archtype.

Tell me if I get anything wrong
Name: Tarin Ingoedd
Age:35
Gender: female
Race: Endarian
Race Description: Somewhat similar to humans, most are 4-6 inches taller then the average human, have duel toned hair, and blue markings on their bodies (Some are naturally occurring and some are artificial tattoos).
Archetype: Thief
Weapon:http://www.kaswords.com/productimages/s/Carlos_V_Fantasy_Medieval_Dagger.jpg
Personality:Tarin used to be a kind, loving woman, but no longer, while she still wishes to improve live in the empire now she does not care how much blood gets spilled along the way. Anybody who gets in the way of her goals gets killed regardless of if their rebel, Imperial or otherwise. She is entirely single minded in her pursuit of her ex-husband, the man who stole her daughter from her, and has even started burning whole villages to the ground for sheltering him.

Biography: Tarin as born in one of the many smaller towns surrounding the city of Spiridan, her family was of a long line of merchants who used to be quite powerful a few generations ago. While they had lost much of their power Her family was quite well off and the town was close enough and friendly enough with Spiridan that the city guards kept the rebels and marauders from burning it down. As Tarin grew older she slowly learned of the band of rebels called "The Heroes" and as a teenager decided to join. She didn't see them as bad, they simply wanted to make the empire a better place, and who wouldn't want that? Over the next couple of years she used her position as a merchant to pass information and supplies to "The Heroes," it worked out very well, and Tarin was raising in rank quite quickly. She was happy with her work, but that changed when she met a young, handsome Imperial and fell for him. Even though he was the enemy,as well a few years younger, Tarin could not help but fall in love with the man and eagerly married him a year and a half later. During most of their relationship Tarin used her husband's position and knowledge to help the Rebels, she hated the secrecy of it but she knew (Or thought she knew) that he would be happy that she had worked to better the world they lived in, especially after she had given her husband a child.

When the truth about her finally reached her husband, Tarin desperately wanted to explain the situation to her husband but it was too late, he had already taken their infant child to a place far away from her. For the next 4 years Tarin sought nothing more then to find her husband and child so she could explain herself to them. When she finally found where he was Tarin rallied a small force to go after them, but only there would only be tragedy upon her arrival. Despite her peaceful intentions her husband ran and fighting between him and her men broke out. In the chaos their daughter was struck by a wayward bullet and killed. After her enraged husband was struck down, Tarin had the one who shot her daughter executed, and ever since has been hunting down her husband, one way or another she will settle her score with him..

Excellent work on the profile, i like how this was done. Consider it accepted.

Name: Luc Kiiroen
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Archtype: Dragoon
Spells: N/A
Weaponry:
http://ltsro.eu/en/images/items/10d_spear_b563c0c89783018e0074e50b49670f90.jpg
http://www.fantasy-armor.com/images/armors/AE1433.jpg
Personality:
Luc is a fairly charismatic individual, able to befriend most people he meets with a ready smile and quick -yet dry- wit, one that usually catches people off guard as he seems like the kind of darkened hard-ass who twirls his spear about like he's some machismo asshole. No, he is in fact openly a nice guy, the kind of person to greet others as a good friend - or as he says, a friend he just hasn't seen in a long time. He has a fairly dry and sarcastic sense of humour as well, one that can turn people off after a while but at first they'll laugh along simply because it's a shock to see a guy like Luc act chummy and nice to everyone; even those who are supposed to be his enemies. In fact he is very friendly to 'enemies' which can put them off guard, which is perfect for him...

However much Orion is well-liked by everyone he meets he is also a loner at heart, a pariah in fact as he is a self-made outcast, ostracising himself from individuals and groups whenever he is able to. However since he is a wandering mercenary he works only for money or for someone who can truly impress him, which is rare. He's not a natural leader as much as he is a natural comrade with everyone, but he is very loyal to those he travels with; he may not trust them but he wouldn't betray them. If they turned on him he wouldn't bat an eye as he cut them down, but he would not instigate the betrayal himself. Not for any reason short of his own certain death otherwise.

When it comes to combat though, Luc moves from friendly to ferocious, the kind of dude without mercy who views any fight as a challenge. However he isn't one to kill unnecessarily; he fights to his best no matter who he faces but he only kills with need -or in times of ridiculous anger- and other than that he will spare a foe's life, though he will leave them hideously injured. Of course he will kill monsters and the like but since he sees them as dumb beasts he does so as quickly and painlessly as possible, a single slash if possible or with whatever techniques he can do to eliminate them seamlessly. He isn't one to show off either, he does his job in combat and then moves on. However if he is challenged to a fight like for 'fun' then he makes it last, since he can enjoy combat if his foe makes it enjoyable or at least challenging.
Biography:
Born in Spiridan proper, Luc was never an eager supporter of the Empire or anything like that and nor were his parents. His mother and father were both mages but they were supremely disappointed when he did not display any magical abilities himself. Still they did nurture him and they gave him the best education possible, Luc ending up studying various things at all kinds of schools and he graduated college with a lust for something more; having learned all kinds of anything for nearly fifteen years of his life - he was now twenty and had displayed a prodigous skill in most kinds of learning, graduating most things early.

However he finally realised what he wanted when he passed a weapon dojo one of the days after graduating for the third time from the university, and when he walked inside and picked up a spear he displayed intense skill with the blade and enrolled, telling his parents he was studying art or law or some such, the point was he lied. He trained there for four years, becoming dubbed a 'master' and when he decided it was time for him to leave Spiridan proper he told his parents what he had done and was surprised when they told him that they'd known and had a present for him as he would be leaving. He was given an ice-enchanted spear that had been enchanted by both his parents and he was thankful to them as he left, choosing to begin life as a mercenary.

Unfortunately three months in he received a letter in one of the towns around Spiridan, having returned from one of his missions and he learned that his parents had both been killed in a fire. He attended the funeral and then left Spiridan again, deciding unless he absolutely had to he would never return. He gained fame as a mercenary for the next few years until he finally found himself engaged in a bit of a situation with some 'rebels' who had payed him a lot of money to join their cause. He didn't care for it personally he simply agreed for the money and he joined them, his personality still bright and carefree still despite his past and he didn't care who he travelled with or what happened, he just wanted to do whatever he had to to get payed.

I'm going to have to ask that you change the class name to match those that are featured in the archtype list: Seems as though this character is meant to be a 'dragoon' so..yeah, just change the name to fit one of the archtype names that are there.

Apart from that, i don't see any problems with the profile

Name: Snahdque Kreuntakth The Wise (Snah)
Age: Roughly 142 human years
Gender: Male
Race: Wyyrd
Race Description: The Wyyrd are a nomadic and isolated race. They operate typically alone or in small groups, for mutual betterment. When villages are made, which is rarely, the Wyyrd typically have a religious government, with a shaman-type leader. The Wyyrd worship nature, live side by side with it, and as a result are naturally sensitive to old magicks, many Wyyrd grow to be talented hunters as well. Most Wyyrd are wary of other species', while some Wyyrd are attempting to represent their race with diplomacy, and rally their people towards civilization. Old habits die hard though. Wyyrd are structured similarly to humans. Wyyrd age slower than humans, the average year of death is said to be around 200 years, but some Wyyrd claim to be much older. Wyyrd can be anywhere between 4 feet to 6 feet tall, depending on age and background. Wyyrd appear gruesome, with large noses, large pointy ears, and squashed faces. Their feet resemble hands, though typically Wyyrm look down upon walking on all fours.
Archtype: Black Mage
Spells: Aero, Quake, Poison, Blind, Stun
Weapon: (it's the one on the right)http://mythicmktg.fileburst.com/war/us/home/images/newsletter/global/2006/goblin_Weapon_ShamanClubStaff.jpg
Appearance: http://www.elfwood.com/art/m/a/maija/shaman.jpg
Personality: Snah is driven by power. Magick, and nature. To him and his kind, they are one and the same. The old ways never prove wrong to Snah, and in this chaotic new world it is just that, the old ways, that must come to be in order for the world to be set right.

Biography:Snah was born and raised in a Wyyrd village far west of Spiridan, nestled in a crater surrounded by a dense forest, that the Wyyrd called Ystult. Snah was quickly recognized by his peers to have a strong magick aura, and was driven into a shamanistic apprenticeship at the young age of 5. It was there Snah learned the power of the universe, how to create magic spells, potions, and mixtures from nature. He used his skills to act as a doctor for his people, as well as a warrior-leader when the village needed protecting from marauders, wild creatures, or other village people gone mad. When his teacher disappeared while out on a hunt, Snah took his position and as his teacher once did, took a student under his wing named Droldge.

Soon, Droldge was excelling as a shaman. Snah's attention began to fade away from the village as he gazed into the horizon. The universe told him what he needed to hear one night, and Snah departed from his home that same night. He began a scholarly journey that took him all over the country side, searching for lost artifacts, and forgotten runes of the old world. He saw glimpses in all of them of some sort of cleansing, power that was once used to channel the universe's will into being. Through his travels Snah met many individuals, some hostile, and yet some with kindred spirits. A certain kindred spirit, told Snah of a group called the Prophets. Snah immediately understood what the universe was telling him. It was only a matter of time, due to Snah's primal instinct, gut, and yearning for power that he rose to a leader's position within the Prophets. With the reigns in the hands of such an outworldly soul, Snah began to press towards a new direction, with an intent that could prove to be salvation, or utter destruction.
