You are surrounded by a lush forest. Thick and opulent with vegetation, teeming with wide pine trees, hundreds of feet high, with thickness that a normal person could not wrap their arms about. It’s quiet and peaceful, as if holding its breath in anticipation of what’s to occur here.

The lighting is dim, as the trees reach into the sky, covering what little light the sun would provide. The ground littered with small ferns, and small sandy spots through out. There is a slight clearing about twenty feet away, where the sunshine can be seen to be just a little brighter. It's only about the size of a large family room. There is grass in that one spot. Low, but sumptuous and bright green as if defying the forest in its very existence.

A soft voice finds you as you view your surroundings, as if unwilling to break the peaceful nature of this forest. "I am Merry, your judge." it says from no where in particular, but seeming to come from everywhere at once.

"Here you fight until the death, forfeit or until one is unable to move. Injuries, even mortal, fatal or instant death wounds, shall be healed when the battle is over. The winner will advance to the next round. Good Luck to you......BEGIN!"

With that, the voice fades away.

(you have ten days to post a maximum of ten times each. your judge is on vacation and may not jump in later)

A lone figure lay still on the forest floor; dressed in a deep black and crushing several
ferns, the man presented a stark contrast to the warm and gentle appearance of his surroundings. The figure slowly came to, sitting himself upright and holding his head in his hands.

For a brief moment, Kuro was unsure as to where he was and just why he was there. Pulling back his hood, Kuro craned his neck upward and drew in a deep breath, the air fresh, clean and smelling of sweet pine. Wherever he was, it was a place of unadultered peace and tranquility.

"I am Merry, your Judge..."

The voice, though soft and welcoming, reminded Kuro just why he was there. He was to fight, to be judged and have his fate decided by powers too great for him to understand. He rose to his feet, brushing off the remains of the forest floor before pulling his hood back down over his face and setting off slowly into the forest, his footfall barely audible on the soft forest floor.

".....Good luck to you.....BEGIN"

With that, Kuro activated his emitter, the extent of the forest surrounding now clear to him. Great pines stretched far into the sky, the sound reaching up the trees until meeting the lush canopy. Kuro made his way to a nearby pine and began to walk the circumference of the trunk, his hand following the contours of the bark as he did so. A thing of such beauty and grandure that few things could match it in the natural world; a marvellous sight no doubt, but one that Kuro didn't dare linger on in thought much longer. Turning back towards the forest, he made careful process as he stepped lightly on the soft forest floor, keeping alert for any sign of something untoward.

Kriss remained still in the woods, hidden from his opponent, his opponent hidden from him.. He personally wondered what was it with this tournament and placing him in areas that were a little too hard to move around for his liking. First it was the skulls and corpses on the ground, now it was the trees.

He decided to ignore this though, and noted that his opponent was nowhere in sight, the only sign that this was a battle was the call of a judge. As the she called for the fight to begin, Kriss held out his hand, the No Dachi falling out of the sky, flying across before impaling itself into the side of a tree with a loud resonant Thunk.

He pulled the sword out of the tree, twirled it around once, an audible 'schwing' heard throughout the forest as he gave a test slice in the air.

"Let's Get It On!" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NuRRe1moVhY&feature=related) he shouted.

As judge of this battle - I have to give the win to TenSARS. It was stopped before it really got started, sad to say.

Thank you for playing Gunnison. TenSARS moves on this time.
