Character's name: Lord Malak “Mundat” Adriam

Player's name: Shifty

Description: Malak is a native of the island of Kesareen, specifically of the Mim Clan of Masi Tiona. He is 31 years old, stands 5 feet, 11 inches tall, which is tall for a Mioran, and has bronze colored skin. His hair is light blonde and wavy and cut to a length about two inches above his shoulders. He has bright, almost grey brown blue eyes. He is rather thin, with wiry muscle and a body accustomed to the heat and dryness of the desert. His face is hawk-like, with sharp angles and pronounced cheekbones, as well as a slightly hooked nose. He has several scars, the most notable being one across his nose. He also has two parallel ones across his back and one on his left forearm.

Malak wears traditional Mimian clothing, which consists of light, baggy pants that are tied with twine around his ankles (to prevent sut from gettin ginto his shoes) over light yet very tough leather boots. He wears this with a light tunic, usually gray or tan, and over this is worn a white or light grey robe like coat with a hood. He also wears a strip of cloth which is wrapped around his face so that only his eyes are showing. This is usually only worn in desert conditions, but sometimes in cold weather as well. He always wears a gold and forest-green strip of striped cloth around his wrist, a symbol of his lordship, and the colors of his crest.

Title: Lord of Ingal

Bio: Malak was born in a village outside of Unut in Masi Tiona. His father, Aeron, was a farmer and elder in his village and his mother was a seamstress. For his early life he helped his father on the farm, tilling the soil and getting all they could out of it, which was a feeble amount. When he was 16 he enlisted in the Mimian army. He was trained in swordsmanship, the use of the Mioran re-curve bow, and the use of a spear. He showed early on excellent promise as a soldier, and quickly rose through the ranks.

When he was 20, he helped the Mim fight off an attack from the Shurav’Imkal, who were attempting to gain more of the Dure’Voro river. Malak fought very well, slaying three Shurav’Imkal warriors with his spear before it broke, beating a man to death with his shield, and then fighting with blade until the battle ended. In that first battle, according to witnesses, Maluk killed almost two a dozen men with brutal efficiency. Unfortunately, he was wounded in battle, a slashing wound across his nose. He made a recovery, but he missed out on the rest of the war, and with the loss of his sense of smell. Still, he remained in service, fighting again not much later to annex part of a smaller clan, which also started a war with the Omool.

This war, which lasted nearly a year, just verified Malak’s ability as a soldier. His friends and comrades nicknamed him “Mundat”, a Mioran word for a small, dog like creature native to Masi Tiona that is well known for its viciousness and ability to kill large dogs over twice its size by maneuvering and angering its opponent to gain an advantage. By the end of the war with the Omool, Maluk had gained great reputation and popularity among the Mimian army, even going as far as reaching the ear of the leader of the Mim clan, the self proclaimed King Havan II. He was recently given lordship of Ingal, a village just north of the border with the Omool that was captured in the last war.

Now, Malak is a Lord and commander of his own legion, called the Mundati, who are handpicked and trained by him. The Mundati are fiercely loyal to their lord, and would go so far as to fight to the death if it was necessary for Malak’s safety. The Mundati show their loyalty by wearing Lord Malak’s crest, a gold triangle with a green four-pointed star in the middle, on their shields and on necklaces

Personality: Boisterous, but not a braggart. He enjoys a good time with friends and fellow soldiers. He doesn’t dislike anyone in particular, but has slight disdain for younger soldiers, untested by the blood, sweat and dirt of combat, as they are so sure of themselves. He does his best to help them, and make sure that they have the best chance of surviving their first battle. During battle or under stress, however, he becomes cold and detached, cutting off nearly all emotions, even anger. His eyes, though still alert, seem to almost focus inward on his own essence. He has trained himself to maintain his composure during battle, and fights with a brutal and cold efficiency that has been known to make his enemies think twice about fighting him.

Weapons:
An 8 foot spear with an iron, leaf shaped blade. There is a small, pointed pommel on the opposite end for balance, and a strip of gold and green striped cloth tied near the spear point.
A Vistamal, a thin, slightly curved short-sword reminiscent of a katana, but with a larger cross-guard which curves down in front of the handle, such as on a dueling saber. There is a loop at the end of a handle with a strip of gold and green cloth tied to it.
An Irnuan Tuma, or Assasin’s knife, which is a 5 inch blade, double edged and narrow with a thin cross-guard, that is, by tradition, to be used only in formal challenge combat or to kill an enemy who is unsuspecting of you. The hilt is tied with gold and green twine.

Armor: Hard leather braces, gloves and greaves, a chain-mail shirt and a steel helmet with his crest on it. He also carries a large leather round shield with iron studs that is three feet in diameter, painted with a gold triangle and a green four-pointed star.

Skills: Malak is trained in fighting with spear, sword, knife and bow, and can use all weapons proficiently, but prefers to use his spear and sword first.

His fighting style is very fluid and calm, and is composed mostly of parries and making his opponent lose momentum, composure and balance. Those who have sparred with him had remarked that he has a sort of grace and fluidity that they have never seen, and that even the most well trained Mundati cannot imitate.

He has some interest in magic, but does not openly practice it for fear of being shunned and exiled. This does not stop him from practicing it however.

Gear:
A necklace with a gold painted silver triangle and an emerald cut in a four pointed star in the middle. Given to him by his father when he turned 16, right before he joind the military
A silver bracelet with the words “Fear can be a powerful ally, or a devious and cunning enemy.”
His lordly signet ring, gold with an emerld set in it.
Other: Due to his height and his darker skin, some have doubted that he is a full blooded Mioran, and that he has some Buro Tumai blood from somewhere in his ancestry. This is interesting as both of his parents look like normal Miorans.

Also, King Havan II has become uneasy at Maluk’s growing popularity within the military and the populace, as well as the Mundati, who are better trained than even the King’s personal bodyguard.

History:
Age 16: enlisted in the military. Showed early promise as a soldier.
Age 20: killed his first man, plus 11 others at the battle of Mulan village, proving himself as a warrior.
Age 24: fought a war with the Omool, gaining recognition among the Mim clan going as high as the King.
Age 26: Appointed lord of Ingal by King Havan II, and given leadership of his own legion.
Age 27: Marries Elaine Milon, the daughter of Lord Torrent Milon of Rogras, cementing an alliance with that family.
Age 29: Malak’s first child is born, a boy named Aeron II after his grandfather.
