Dear Pokemon/Trainer/Breeder/Professor/Fan

Congratulations! You have been invited to partake in the in a grand party on the the S.S Anne as the ship sails towards Johto. We ask that you bring your best Pokemon with you and welcome you to our magnificent Pokemon salons and daycare that are being set up for for this very voyage as we speak. We hope to see you there!

Many thought that after the downfall of Team Rocket more than five years ago was the last they would ever see or hear of them. What they didn't know was that Team Rocket was plotting, waiting for their chance to reclaim their former glory

It's the day of all days, the day you join the ranks of other highly recognized trainers, breeders, and coordinators and travel aboard the S.S. Anne like many of the great ones before you. What you don't know is that it's all nothing but a lie. Team Rocket has taken over the S.S. Anne and plan to steal pokemon and take all aboard hostage. They plan to regain what they lost all those years ago. Only time will tell if the pokemon do-gooders have what it takes to get along and put Team Rocket back into the shadows of everyone's mind.

"It's bigger than I thought it'd be."

The sixteen year old female wore an expression of disbelief as she stood holding a Raichu in her arms. Looking down at the Pokemon she spoke to it quietly, "What do you think Chu?" The Pokemon did not reply audibly but merely shrugged as it looked up at the ship hat was a mere one hundred feet away from them.

The S.S Anne was not what she had expected it to be. She had received a letter at the Vermilion City Pokemon Center only a day earlier with no return address. The nurse had examined the ticket included as well and all evidence pointed to the tickets being genuine. Here she was now debating whether or not she wanted to actually board it. She'd never been on a ship in her life and while the letter did promise it would be luxurious she was still nervous. The closest thing to a ship she'd even been on was a blimp and that had not been a pleasant experience in the least.

"It's worth a try." She concluded finally as she set the electric Pokemon down before her. "Let's go ahead and go." She allowed the Pokemon to run before her as she strode in the direction of the ship. After climbing the stairs leading to the deck she flashed the man her ticket and he waved her on inside.

The letter hadn't been lying. As she entered she took note of the fact it was already crowded with other trainers and she bit her lip as she looked around. The ballroom was huge and she could already see battles taking place on one side of the room. The other side held tables of food and she didn't hesitate to hurry over. She honestly had no idea when the last time she had eaten a decent meal had been. (Decent being something other than noodles or cheap fast food.)

Raichu trailed behind her the entire time and wasted no time before hopping onto a table and eating as well.

The young pink haired girl stood staring at the ship in awe, her Ninetails sitting beside her. She stood there until the female Ninetails gave a noise of annoyance. The girl's attention was drawn to the pokemon, and she nodded, taking a single step forward, her attention turning back to the boat in front of her. "It's huge!" she said to herself, taking another single step before skipping towards the vessel. After a few feet of skipping, she ran towards the boarding ramp, her pokemon companion chasing after her and letting out soft happy 'barks' so to speak. The girl only stopped running when she got to the ticket man, where she was stopped and had to search for her ticket. She found it in her jacket pocket, and showed it to the man.

"Raine Itsuki, eh? Have a nice trip."

The way the man said it sent shivers down Raine's spine. She had only just received the ticket days prior to this, and had decided to go in a spur of the moment type of thing. She had only brought her five favorite pokemon with her, hoping to find a new one along the route through the Johto region. She quickly moved through the boat, finding her way to the ball room where she spotted some food. Raine's stomach gave a quiet protest at her sudden interest in one of the battles that was going on, and she quickly made her way over to the food table, Ninetails close by her heels. She quickly pulled a can of Pokefood from her pouch, took out a single piece and gave it to the ninetails. "That's until I find a nice steaming bowl of stew, and a place to sit and watch the battles, alright Pearl?" she giggled after talking to her pokemon, and then set out in search of finding the perfect bowl of stew.

After about 5 minutes of searching, Raine found her bowl of steaming stew. It smelled of beef, carrots, peas, potatoes, and corn. It was taunting her, so she grabbed it, grabbed a spoon, and headed over to a nice, quiet little corner where she had a good view on all the battles that were happening at the time.

~~~
The familiar, violet haired woman walked towards the boat, a Weavile walking beside her. Her long hair was tied up in a high pony tail with a purple ribbon, but even then her hair reached her knees. Her violet eyes darted around, watching everyone carefully. So far, the people crowding around her and her Weavile were leaving enough room for them to walk through them. Various shouts came for a battle, which she instantly declined. She only had time for one thing, and that was boarding S.S. Anne. She was decked out in her usual outfit, which was a black tube dress, matching arm warmers, and boots made out of much the same material as her dress and arm warmers.
As she approached the S.S. Anne, she started getting a tingling in the pit of her stomach. It was the tingling feeling she got every time there was something out of place, or something not right. Looking at the S.S. Anne, she studied it critically before turning her attention to her small companion. "What do you think Weaver? Is it worth our time to take a look?" she asked the pokemon. It tilted it's head and looked at the ship before giving a nod. "Alright Weaver. Lets get on."
As she walked along the boarding ramp, the tingling feeling in her gut got stronger. "It's definitely something to do with the ship," she muttered, half to herself, and half to her pokemon. It wasn't until they reached the ticket man that Hinata realized why she was so weary. The ticket checker looked odd on the ship. She made a mental note to check around later, and flashed her ticket at him. Her seemed shocked that she was actually there, and when Hinata walked past him and out of ear shot, she noticed him mutter something into a radio. "Very suspicious indeed..."
Whitney exited the supply store and made her way to the ship holding her chikorita in her arms. She looked at the ship, " Well isn't this going to be exciting. We had to take a ship to ger here and now we have to take one to get to the place we're going." Whitney looked down at Chika, "Well llet's just hope neither of us will get sea sick." Whitney showed her ticket to the ticket man, and was allowed to board.
Whitney was welcomed by one of the ship's staff, and was shown to her room. After tipping the short hair covered man, Whitney closed her cabin door. " So what should we do first? Visit the pool, check out the buffet, or wait and watch the other people come on board?"
She looked to Chika, "I know let's visit the buffet, take some food with us, and watch the people come on board." Whitney picked up her belt with her poke balls on it, and then picked up Chika, heading towards where ever the buffet was.
Whitney found the buffet, with the help of one of the staff. She looked around and saw two other girls eating. " I'll say HI after we get food and eat." Whitney picked up a plate and filled it with fruit and some bagels and cream cheese, and made her way over to one of the tables. Whitney sat down and put Chika upon the table, and gave her some fruit to eat on.
Samuel Domino straighted clothes after sending his Tropius to his pokeball. He decided to wear a white muscle shirt, black heavy shirt, black jeans with a brown leather double belt where is pokeballs hung from, with black tennis shoes,a black batting glove on his left hand, and his mother's trust necklace, which he never takes off.
Sable, his Sableye, near instantly jumps out of her pokemon, since they are now on the ground.
"Geez girl, your jumpy today. I am glad we already ate before coming here, or we'd be famished. Alright Sable, behave little one, or you or going back into your ball."
Sam kneels down to pet Sable on the head before walking to the S.S. Anne with her in tow.
On the ramp he hands over the ticket and notices the ticketmaster does not have a checklist for passengers. He is just relying on the letter and the names on the tickets. It seamed strange to Sam they opperated this trip in this way; because, on his first trip on the S.S. Anne he was sure the attendant kept a roster of some kind to double check the passengers coming aboard. It was as if they don't care who gets on. Sam shrugged his shoulders and bee-lined for the main hall with Sable in tow because he knew that is where most of the trainers will be especially around lunch time.
Upon entering the main hall, Sam was astounded on the amount of trainers that were on the boat this trip. There was not this many on his first trip, and this got his juices flowin'. He wanted to battle so bad, ran over to the main collection of the battlers to scout the competition.
"Nidorino, no!", says Philip to his Nidorino while holding him by his back spikes. Nidorino's eyes turned into hearts and was trying to run off from Pokécenter they were in.
"You can't run after every Nidoran in the area!", shouts Philip at Nidorino again, which would explain why he wanted to run off. Philip manages to pull out Nidorino's pokeball and returns him back into it in a red flash.
"I think I'll start ductaping your pokeball. You're like the most arousing Pokémon I know." says Philip while looking at Nidorino's pokeball before putting him in his pocket.
"All right.", start Philip to himself as he grabbed his bag, "Lets get to that ship." And Philip heads outside. Since he was in Vermilion City, his hometown, he knew the place like a back of his hand. But instead of informing his parents he is heading on ship for Johto, he head straight to S.S.Anne. Last thing he needs is confronting his parents after he run off from home to get to Pallet Town.
...
Philip finally found himself at the docks near S.S.Anne. He flashed his ticket, that he received in Saffron City, to the ticket guy and he let himself in. A staff member inside escorted him to his room, and also Philip noticed most of the trainers, breeders and whatever else there was kept one of their Pokémons outside their pokeballs.
So after he was escorted to his quarters, Philip grabs one of his pokeballs and from it he releases his first Pokémon, Wartotle. "Wartotle, since everyone else does I'll be showing you off around the ship, okay?"
"War-", says Wartotle nodding to his trainer.
"Now then, lets get something to snack on." Now Wartotle got a happy expression on his face and follows Philip to anywhere they can get some food, real food.
A boat official sighed as he waved yet another cocky trainer through, the poor man having not had his lunch break and working full time. The boss had assured him a bonus for the day, but one could only stand monotony so long at the post before the gangplank. "Next," he'd groan in his classic red and gold-frilled uniform, waving the line forward. The line moved, but the man in the business suit didn't step to the platform, looking at him blankly. Only a Kadabra "Next, I said," he repeated. He didn't have time for this.
"Ahem!"
The man blinked at the cute, light cough, tilting his head downwards to see the small girl and a Marowak standing before the man, her head only up to his belt. "Alright, little miss," he chuckled, bending down to her level with a causal grin, "where are your parents?"
The girl shifted her weight to the side in a sassy maneuver far too old for her, crossing her arms in front of her uniform coat and pouting her lips outward. "They're in Lilycove, I've got a ticket for me, Ware, and Lane here," she said in all one breath, only briefly gesturing to the bone-wielding mammal and the large psychic humanoid, "and my other three Pokemon are resting right now, so can you please take my ticket already?"
The worker blushed furiously as he looked over her passport and her Pokemon's passport IDs. "Miss Elise Mary Charide..." he read aloud, browsing over her conditions of travel with wide eyes. This was one independent kid. Turning his eyes to the Pokemon's identifications, he nearly dropped his jaw. This kid had won super and hyper rank contests with these pokemon?! He nodded blankly as he stubbed the ticket and allowed the girl through. "Have a nice voyage Miss Elise..." he muttered in amazement as the two Pokemon followed her.
"I can't believe it, Ware!" she said giddily as her loafers clicked against the gangplank's metal surface, gritted to provide texture and high railings boxing the small girl in, "Look at the size of this thing!"
"Mar..." the Marowak grumbled in reply, the Kadabra taking but a single millisecond to translate for it.
"Oh, don't be such a baby. It's just water," she retorted with her tongue sticking out at her longest companion. She gazed back at her translator with big brown eyes, glistening with glee. millisecond to translate for it. "What do you think, Lane? Isn't it amazing?"
It's just peachy, the voice echoed dryly in her head.
"Nyehh, you guys are no fun!"
She giggled as she tugged on the Marowak's hand, spinning into the hallways towards her room once she hopped through the bulkhead, dragging the poor creature behind with its favorite femur scraping behind him, its eyes wide in alarm as they hurtled down the red-carpeted passages, spinning around corners before bursting through a door into their room, collapsing into the bed. Elise couldn't help herself from entering a giggle fit seeing Ware tied comically in the sheets, waving around like a ghost as he tried to free himself. Lane merely calmly walked in after, shutting the door with a thought and a sigh. Your parents will always be amused to see "Property damage" as an expense on their account, I'm sure.
Ignoring her smart companion's protests, she grinned as she dotted her fingers across the Pokeballs on her belt, three red beams firing out with a all-too familiar sound, materializing into three distinct shapes. A pink puff with small pixie wings, small eyes and a bright smile marked the cute Peach. A blue form, obscured by a thick, fluffy cloud, let loose a beautiful Altaria with a wavering cry that Elise called Angel. Finally, a long, graceful form with a beautifully colored tail and gentle eyes made a Milotic by the name of Silk. Elise grinned as she bounced on the bed, soaring into the air with a squeak against the bed springs. "So! What should we do first?! I wanna see everything before we sail!"
This is going to be a long day... the Kadabra sighed, and the other four Pokemon could only nod.
Kiosis stood quietly as his eyes stared into a sign that read Vermillion City, his eyes glancing from the sign to a piece of paper in his hand and smiling. "Finally... Vermillion City at last!" He said to himself as he stuffed the paper into his pocket and looked up at the city before him. Kiosis' eyes moved from the group and looked toward the dock and gasped in shock at the sight of a giant cruise ship. The size seemed almost inhuman and it looked like the giant boat would topple over at any moment and crush the unsuspecting people below; however, it simply floated there swaying slightly in the breeze.
Kiosis shook his head slightly snapping himself out of the daze and grinned to himself before taking off with a sprint down the hill leading to the city. His black backpack swayed behind him as the grip he had on the strap hanging over his shoulder tightened to make sure it didn't fall. He kept the pace for a few minutes until he stopped next to a familiar red building bearing the symbol of the a Pokeball and the word "Center" flashing in the middle of it. He turned toward the building gasping softly and walked toward the front door pushing it open. His eyes widened in amazement as he realized the entire room was filled from wall to wall with trainers, each holding a different Pokemon in their arms or standing next to those that are too large to carry. "Holy... " He muttered to himself under his breathe as he entered the building and let the door close around him. Instantly the room turned to look at him causing a red tinge to cover Kiosis' face as he returned the look and gave a gentle bow and began pushing through the crowd. It took him a few moments but finally managed to arrive at the counter and was greeted by a familiar face.
"Hello, my name is Nurse Joy can I help you?" Said the pink haired nurse standing in front of him as she bowed slightly. To her side stood what seemed to be a giant pink egg holding a smaller one, a Pokemon that Aniero quickly recognized to be a Chansey.
"Um... Yes. My name is Kiosis Lemmings and I was supposed to receive a package here with a ticket for the S.S. Anne. Did that arrive?" He asked her quickly as his eyes flashed toward the clock on the wall realizing that if he doesn't get moving soon he would miss the boat. Nurse Joy blinked at him curious as first bringing her finger up to her chin and taping gently as her face stared at Kiosis in thought.
"Oh! You're Mr. Lemmings... the famous breeder? Yes... I have a package here for you from the leader of the Pokemon FanClub, he told me to give it to you when you arrived." She leaned over and started fumbling through a draw tossing papers onto the floor until she pulled out a small envelope that seemed to be covered with Rapidash stickers. "He wanted me to tell you 'Thank you for the food, my beautiful, sweet, warm, loving...' err you get the point...' Rapidash is feeling better now," she paused rolling her eyes slightly before returning to the note. "'Thank you for the help with your medicine. I apologize for not being here in person to give this ticket to you but thought me and Rapidash could use some time to ourselves. Have fun...' He sure seems to fancy you!"
Kiosis chuckled slightly as he remembered the incident with the old man, but his own fault for wanting to have it sleep with him in bed. "Blankets on Pokemon covered with flames eventually lead to a flu..." He muttered as he took the envelope from her and gave one last bow before turning and running out of the Pokemon Center. His eyes looked around and found the line for the S.S. Anne cruise ship and gave a sigh of relief, he wasn't going to be late. He walked over to the boat and flashed his ticket before walking onto the deck and gasped in amazement. The size of the boat from the outside was amazing, the inside seemed almost impossible. "Wow this place is huge..." His voice trailed off as he walked into the ballroom and stared at people passing buy, trying to control his excitement at the boats departure.
Jonathan walked through Vermillion City with his hands behind his head and the ticket in his mouth. Dante, his Poochyena, was trotting alongside him when he let out a whimpering noise. Jonathan turned to look at the pokemon and took the ticket out of his mouth. Dante was doing the little routine he always made when he wanted to ride on Jonathan's head. He lay himself on the ground with his legs stretched out and making a sort of pouting face. Jonathan stared at him for a while before saying, "Oh all right." Dante quickly stood up and began jumping up and down as Jonathan took of his fedora, picked him up and plopped him on his head.
As he approached the dock he saw the S.S Anne in the distance. "Wow, that's really big," Jonathan muttered. He walked through the giant crowd of people, many of which seemed to also be heading for the boat, and he stood in line, waiting to get to the ticket master. As he stood he heard someone around him saying "Aww, isn't that cute," while pointing at him. Jonathan just smirked and stayed quiet.
The line seemed to drag on for hours until he was finally the first person. "Ticket please," said the ticket master. Jonathan reached into his fedora and pulled it out. The ticket master just glanced it over and let him walk in. "Wow, seems pretty easy to just forge a ticket and walk in," Jonathan thought. He just shrugged and walked into the ship.
The inside of the ship was gorgeous, well, at least to Jonathan. The floor was covered in red carpet and there seemed to be many expensive decorations hanging on the wall. As he looked at his surroundings Jonathan's stomach soon began to growl. He hadn't eaten in hours and he was just beginning to notice it. He walked through the hallways, not really knowing where he was going, when he luckily found what he was looking for, the ballroom.
It was filled to the brim with trainers. Some of them where battling while others were eating. Jonathan looked around for a bit before finding the food. He reached up to his head and slowly brought Dante down. He was sleeping but was beginning to wake up after Jonathan brought him down. Dante opened one eye and looked around the ballroom. He just yawned and went back to sleep again. Jonathan smiled and put him back on his head.
As he reached the table with all the food he looked around and the assortment of meats caught his eye. He grabbed a plate and piled a few steaks on it. He also grabbed a can of poke food with a bowl and walked towards a secluded corner. He softly put Dante on his lap, who instantly woke up upon smelling the food. He began wagging his tail and Jonathan opened up the can and pored the food into the bowl. Dante quickly began eating and so did Jonathan.
Whitney stood up and picked up Chika and put her plate, which was now empty, onto the dirty plates tray. She looked down to Chika, "You ready to meet new people Chika?" she asked her. Chika nuzzled her face next to Whitney's. Whitney laughed, "I take that as a yes." She walked over to where a trainer had just sat down. she sat across from him, "HI my name's Whitney and this is Chika." she said pointing to her chikorita, "What's your name?"
Shortly after Jonathan and Dante began eating he heard someone sit infront of him. The person said, "Hi my name's Whitney and this is Chika. What's your name?" Jonathan looked up and saw that it was a girl,no older than him. She was holding a chikorita. "Umm, my name is Jonathan and, well, thats Dante," he said while pointing at his poochyena. Dante turned to look at him for a moment and then continued eating. "Umm, so, did you also get a ticket through the mail like me?"
"Yep, isn't this so cool. It's like going on a huge adventure, and not knowing the destination. So what region are you from? And like what is your favorite type of pokemon?" Jonathan just smiled, the girl was asking a lot of questions. "Well, this is my first time on a boat this big so it's kinda exciting. Anyway, I come from this region, Kanto. Um, I'm from Saffron City. My favorite type is dark, but that's because of Dante here. Even if I do like dark the best, I still love all my other pokemon.
Jonathan paused for a while and looked around him to see if there was space for his pokemon. He reached down and touched each of the buttons on his pokeballs. Three read beams shot out and three pokemon appeared to his right side. Jonathan pointed to the first one and said, "Um, Sandshrew there is called Ace." He then pointed to the second one, "That's my Totodile called Vince, he's named after my brother and I still haven't named quilava," He paused for a hwile before saying, "Actually, maybe you can help me name her. What do you say?"
Whitney thought for a while, "How about Kenna, it means fire born, in an ancient language that I read somewhere. And yeah this is ship is huge. I'm actually from Evergrande in the Hoenn region. My favorite type of pokemon are water and leaf pokemon. That's what I mostly have in my gang of pokemon. I'd take them out but I have 5 excluding Chika here. So Chika and I are going to go watch the other tainers board. See ya later." Whitney got up, scooped up Chika, and went to go see who all was gonna come aboard.
"How about Kenna, it means fire born, in an ancient language that I read somewhere."
"Sure, that works," Jonathan paused and looked at quilava, "Kenna"
The girl continued talking, "And yeah this is ship is huge. I'm actually from Evergrande in the Hoenn region. My favorite type of pokemon are water and leaf pokemon. That's what I mostly have in my gang of pokemon. I'd take them out but I have 5 excluding Chika here. So Chika and I are going to go watch the other tainers board. See ya later."
As Jonathan watched the girl walk away he scratched his head. "Okay, that was kinda, weird," he said. Each of his Pokemon nodded their heads. "Whatever, at least she was nice, passed the time too. When's this ship gonna leave dock anyway," he said, mostly to himself.
Jonathan looked down at his plate and saw that he had already finished his own steak. He stood up, put the plate on a stack of dirty dishes and picked up some more pokemon food.
"Who here's hungry?" he said to his pokemon. Only Kenna and Vince spoke up. "Okay," He grabbed two more plates, poured some food into them, and set it down for them to eat.
Sam waited for the battle before him to end. He liked the facility being used because it aparently got some upgrades because the battle arena could change to serve type advantages. He also noticed the pokemon that battled were at the very least uncommon and with no pathetic little kids and their rattata in site.
He stepped to the main floor before anyone else got a chance to move by shoving his way from the very back to the front; using Sable when the people were to stubborn. Sam smiled and waved to the angered audience.
"Hello, you fools and simpeltons out their in the crowd, I am Samuel Domino and the Gym Leader of Trovita Island. Who wants to challenge me? Who wants to show me their connection to their pokemon?"
Sam held up the Spiked-shell badge for all to see, high in the air in his right hand.
"I will give anyone that beats me this badge, I am not using my main pokemon except the Sableye here, and the challenge chooses the type of battle."
Moments later Philip and his Wartotle were walking away now from the place they ate moments before. Now with their full stomachs Philip thought to take a glance at the batlegrounds on this ship. This ship was surely huge to have almost everything a Pokémon Trainer like Philip is would like.
As he only got in one of the battle rooms, he hears someone challenging all the people in the room. "Hello, you fools and simpeltons out their in the crowd, I am Samuel Domino and the Gym Leader of Trovita Island. Who wants to challenge me? Who wants to show me their connection to their pokemon?"
"A Gym Leader on board huh?", mumbles Philip to himself.
Then after the Gym Leader flashed his official Gym Badge to everyone, Philip's Trainer instincts filled him up.
"You've got yourself a challenger!", shouts Philip across the battle room to the Gym Leader. Wartotle only watched his trainer shouting out.
Hinata Kobayashi made her way slowly to the main hall, her eyes looking cautiously at each individual on the ship. Luckily, a lot of these people seemed to have come from different regions and, with the exception of the ones who had heard through the grapevine, did not know of her. Which was nice for a change, instead of being horded by dozens of trainers. Her Weavile walked beside her, and a few trainers tried to issue a challenge to her. She entered the main room as a gym leader shouted out a challenge, and a small smirk curved her lips upward just a fraction.
Never taking her eyes off the people surrounding her, she started to head over to the food table when she saw a familiar face. It was Whitney, a girl from Evergrande. A rare smile tugged playfully at the edges of her lips as she walked over to greet her. "Hello Whitney. I see you received a ticket to come aboard the S.S. Anne as well. How are you liking the ship so far?" she said to her younger friend. Weavile gave a snort of protest, catching Hinata's attention. "What's wrong Weaver?" she asked, bending down to look at the fair sized Pokemon at eye level. The Weaver pointed at some one, and Hinata gave Weaver a puzzled look. When she looked at the person the Weavile had pointed to, she noticed it was the challenger of the Gym leader. "What about him, Weaver?" she asked the Pokemon. All she got was a rather annoyed noise, and she shrugged, standing back up to look at Whitney.
Sam turned to see who spoke up and accept his challenge somewhere in the back of the crowd, when some people shoved their way threw the crowd similar to what he did except with a little more prim and pomp. The group of three looked like a clutch of hens with all of the expensive clothes. Two looked like they walked of the red carpet and there was one that actually looked like a trainer in a Karate Gi. He was obviously just the paid burly body guard. The leader of the group stepped onto the field in a suit that most people would only wear to ballroom dances. He also wore an expensive pocket watch, eye optical, and a top hat.
"I'll accept your challenge good, sir. In, fact I'll buy that badge off of you. What is your price?"
"What is your name?"
"I am Leo the Gre....."
"Not you, the one that challenged me before you trownsed through the crowd."
The top-hatted man went beat red and his eye piece fell out of his eye. He quickly recollected himself and put his optical back on.
"How dare you interupt me! The one person on board above all you peons."
"The one that challenged me first step forward, if you will, and watch me make this rich blowhard kiss the floor."
What Sam said looked to be the last straw of the top-hatted man. If you did not know a deeper shade of red, you found it on his face. His optical cracked and bent before falling off his face once again. He did not bother restraightening himself this time.
"How dare you insult my person. I will show you what my money has baught me!"
He activates the pokeball suddenly in his hand. Sam tries to show as little emotion as possible in front of this man. Sam hated people that believed money baught them everything. Including strength.
"Oh really. I will only use one pokemon. You can use as many as you want. If you win I will be your servant for all of my life. If I win, I will take every ounce of money on you."
"You have a deal you bothersome underclassed....peon. I will only use one pokemon as well."
Sable, Sam's Sableye, jumped out onto the plain battlefield. Sam felt the old sinister feeling he used to have come back to him.
"Well I choose Sable."
"I choose Magmar."
The Magmar came out of its pokeball all fire and fury, which was a sharp contrast to Sable's mischevious smile.
"Magmar smokescreen."
The Magmar points a stream of smoke at the ground.
"You don't know jack about my pokemon do you? Sable use your Keen Eye ability to end this with a Faint Attack and Power Gem."
Sable answers by disappearing and the audience sees a ball of yellow energy twice as big as a basketball fall down on top of the lost looking Magmar, which gets hit with a nice explosion. It faints after wabbling on its feet and Sable lands back on the ground by the time it hits the floor.
"So, your money please."
"I am a man of my word."
The man throws his wallet to the floor, which is picked up by Sam, who takes the money out and gives the guy back his wallet to a politely clapping crowd.
"Now where is the one that challenged me first?"
Soon after he made the challenge a girl came to Philip saying that she bets $50 that the Gym Leader will beat him very fast. "You're on!", says Philip to the girl.
But before he could move forward through the crowd to battle the Leader, someone else challenged him ignoring Philip being first. "Oh man, you can't do that to me."
"The one that challenged me first step forward, if you will, and watch me make this rich blowhard kiss the floor."
Philip rose one his eyebrow and moves through the crowd with Wartotle to watch the fight in the first row. Now he saw that the guy who ignored Philip's first challenging was quite a hothead. And not only that, but he lost in less than 5 seconds.
"Now where is the one that challenged me first?"
Philip to get rid of his astonished face and put on a tough face. Then he says to the Gym Leader, "That would be me. Name's Philip, from this city where this ship is anchored."
Whitney smiled as the kid accepted the offer. She was always in the mood for a good bet. Whitney turned around and heard someone say her name. A pink-haired woman stood beside her talking to her. Whitney couldn'y exactly place the face, but then all of a sudden thought about who it might be.
"Oh my gosh, Hinata, I didn't know you were coming aboard. It's been forever since I last saw you. So how are your adventures, and your family?"
Whitney waited as Hinata answerd her questions, and turned her head towards the battle about to go on, just to see who wins.
"So then, you are a gym leader. Are there any specific rules I should be aware of.", asks Philip.
This Gym Leader said he's from Trovita Island, which isn't quite in Kanto Region, so the regular Gym rules could probably not me the same there as is in Kanto.
"Yes sir-e, Phil, may I call you Phil? Any who.... The Gyms in the Orange League usually come with a challenge to prove their connection with their pokemon. Like the Mikan Island Gym Challenge, which is a couple of popshots at a some targets with a water pokemon and a water race. It sometimes does not have to be win to get the badge, if you have proven the connection enough to earn it.
Now mine starts with a cook off, but since I don't see the St. Anne offering me their kitchen. We'll skip to the second part. Which is a 3-on-3 same type battle. Which means I'll have to use the same type of pokemon you use. You choose the types to battle with. They have to be separete types. You can't battle with 3 Rock types or 3 Ground types,etc, but you can have pokemon that just happen to share types. Nothing else changes, except no switch outs for either of us if our pokemon are losing."
Sam got into his Gym Leader stance, which he thought made him look cool, but probably didn't.
"Now do you accept the challenge?"
Philip smirks as he reaches into his pocket to grab one of the Pokéballs.
"I sure don't have anything against such rules.", says Philip, "And now let us start. Hypno, party time!"
Philip tosses a Pokéball he just grabbed and in a flash of light a yellow human-like Pokémon with big nose and holding a pendulum appears, psychic Pokémon Hypno.
"Good choice, a psychic type his heavy on special type moves, but you will have to face this....."
Sam those his pokeball into the air.
"Let's do this Metang."
A floating Metang appears with a huff ready to battle.
"Hypno is my special Pokémon that got me a badge in Saffron City. You'd wonder how much I spent time sharpening his skills ever since he was a Drowzee."
Philip the points his hand forwards and says to his Hypno, "Hypno, lets bid Metagross a good night."
"Hypno~", says Hypno and starts waving with his pendulum to Metagross, also having his eyes glow blue. Hypno was using Hypnosis.
"Metang be careful it is using Hypnosis, use Magnet Rise to get above it."
"Me-tang" Metang used its elctromagnetic properties to try and rise above and away from the range of the Hypnosis attack, but came down hard crashing to the floor asleep.
"Just because he is alseep. The battle is not done. Bring it!. When Metang wakes up, he'll put the hurt on you."
"If he manages to wake up before he's finished. Peek your eyes on this move Sam. Hypno, Shadow Ball!"
A black ball starts appearing between Hypno's hands. It got to the size of soccer ball and then it Hypno sent straight towards sleeping Metang.
The ball of shadows hits Metang kicking up alot of dust. Sam smiled a wolfish grin.
"You have a brain on your shoulders unlike my first contender. Phil, normally Psychic types are weak against Ghost type moves, but..."
The dust vanishes revealing an awakened Metang with a glowing purple aura.
"My Metang is a steel type and that weakness goes by the way side. Remember when I said that Psychics are Special move users. It means, they have a weak Defense. Metang use Metal Claw."
The Metang lauches itself at the Hypno with a glowing right arm.
"After this attack, his attacks will become a little stronger, if you don't stop him."
"Hey, I don't repeat mistakes I did before. And I do learn from the battles me and my Pokémon fought. Hypno, Disable!"
Hypno quickly waves his hands forwards creative a flash of negative colors in order to disable Metang's Metal Claw attack.
An electric energy temporarily stopes Metang's Metal Claw.
"What I was waiting for. BULLET PUNCH!"
While near Phil's Hyno, Metang launches a series of punches faster than light.
"Disable can only stop ONE attack and you just used it."
Kyle bounded onto his bed in the moderatly sized room he had. Almost immediatly his pokeball opened mabie without his touch as vaporeon was soon rolling on the bed. She gave a look, well a merry look as she was able to see outside and flick her cresent fin of a tail on Kyle's chest. "If you go in the ocean, we might not ever see eachother again. Though this place is bound to have a pool for you to play in." The vaporeon closed her eyes slightly a small grin forming. "Don't even think about it. I just dried off from the last time you got that look."
She lept off the bed onto Kyle, easily knocking him over. She licked his face a few times before walking off. "Va!"
Kyle sat up, keeping his eyes on her. "Have to say. I was not expecting that. Lets see, how about we go for a little walk, possibly gather some food for all of us. Enjoy the scenery a little."
She turned around quickly, bounding behind him and pushed against his right leg. He skin moist as always and left a watery trail long used to by Kyle. "Easy Vaporeon, we have more than enough time to get up there. I swear, I should try your food one day. It must be laced with something that keeps you wired."
Kyle walked out of his room, the door locking behind him. He walked down the hall, the red carpeting with a gold embroidering around it. A flash of blue kept going in and out of focus as he made his way, looking at signs to figure out where he was heading.
He noticed a large rectangular room, it was for contests, those of creativity and final look to get a medal. "Should put you in one of those. You seem likely to do something interesting. And you would be able to get me wet for a reason. Not like you need one." Kyle's eyes got wide as he saw vaporeon get a small laugh out of that. He clamped both of his hands around her mouth. "Not now, we can't make the custodians clean that up. just isn't fair." She nodded and used one of her paws to push away from him.
Kyle looked over to the map again. Hmm, a place for battles. You remember the first match you were in? You have a real jet inside you, and I am still working out on how a bunch of bubbles seem to hurt a lot. Got hit by a few when you first learned it and it stings."
She strutted around a little bit, obviously seeing those as compliments. "Vapor, Va, Va!"
"Well I guess it is karma for battles and the times you have saved my skin. Well want to check out the battle area, catch a meal when it is a bit later in the day, and the chefs put out new plates of course."
Kyle and his vaporeon walked down a left turn and walked straight for a minuite and a small crowd was in front of them. They walked around behind them, Kyle was able to see over a group of smaller people. Vaporeon was shifting her head around, trying to see between the peoples legs. "Vaporeon, wait." He croutched down, placing his hands behind his back. "Climb up, I can hold you for a while. Definitly long enough for a match less than twenty minuites. You are heavier than you seem."
Vaporeon walked around behind him, climbing on his back. Her tail resting over his arm and her legs were nested under his arms. As Kyle stood up, she licked at his neck in gratitude. "You see alright?" She replied with a soft flick of her tail against his back.
