Background and Plot:

Map of Middle-Earth and the Undying Lands (http://tolkiengateway.net/w/images/a/a4/A_Map_of_Middle-earth_and_the_Undying_Lands_(color).jpg)

Morgoth, Melkor, Bauglir, Belegurth - all are names of the Dark Lord of the First Age of the Sun, the name of the Sauron's Master. Once one of the Ainu, he was forsaken and cast out of the Timeless Halls by Eru for corrupting The Music, and breaking the World from its perfect design in to the geography known by all in this, the Fourth age. Morgoth was defeated long ago by the Host of Valinor, binding and banishing the true Dark Lord to the Void, the World Between Worlds.

With Morgoth imprisoned in the Void, his most trusted Lieutenant, Sauron, took up the mantle of Dark Lord and continued to terrorize and enslave the Free Peoples of Middle-Earth. Sauron, with all of his dark power and his strength, could not foresee or prevent his demise at the hands of the Hobbit Frodo Baggins and King Aragorn II Elissar with the united peoples of Middle-Earth at his command. Under King Elissar, the Dominion of Man began and flourished, rebuilding all that had been lost in the War of the Ring. Under King Aragorn Elissar, there was relative peace and prosperity for several decades, the only conflict instigated by the King of Men was to subdue the Haradrim and the Easterlings. Once the armies of the East were diminished, peace was absolute.

Most of the Elves have sailed to the Undying Lands with Elrond and Gandalf the White, though a small portion of them remained in Middle-Earth, becoming a secretive people that rarely left their forest refuges. The Dwarves of Middle-Earth fight to retake Moria from the Goblin scourge that had originally overtaken it. The Hobbits, though they still hold the pride and honor of being the saviors of the Free People of Middle-Earth, remain a care-free people, devoid of conflict.

There must be a balance in the world, though. There cannot be light without darkness. One century to the day has passed since Sauron's defeat, Aragorn still rules Gondor with his loving wife and queen, Arwen by his side. His son, Eldarion, the Scion of the Eldar and the Prince of the Reunited Kingdoms, now bears the blade of Andúril. The Dominion of Man grew in to the north, beginning the rebuilding of the lost lands of Arnor. Disturbing that old and long-forsaken land set in to motion a series of events that could mean the end of all life.

In the frozen land of Angmar, Warlocks once loyal to the Witch-King and Sauron had been slowly plotting and scheming. The reconstruction of Arnor forced the Warlocks' hands in to action, and so they began actively searching for the Door of Night and a means to free Morgoth from his prison. Arnor, Angmar, and the ancient land of Beleriand near the Iron Mountains sprung to life. Orcs, Goblins, and Sauron Cults of Hillmen rallied to the call of the Warlocks, igniting a terrible scourge, a terrible War in the North. Prince Eldarion and his armies still stand stalwart against the forces of darkness, but they will not hold out forever, even with the Flame of the West on their side.

The Warlocks are attempting to free Morgoth prematurely, before the time that was prophesied. Breaking the prophesy means that Morgoth's defeat is not certain, and that the Dark Lord, the Fallen God, will forsake and destroy all hope, all light, and all freedom in the world, from Middle-Earth to the Undying Lands and beyond. The Armies of Man fight to hold their lands in the North, so the most pivotal task lies in the hands of a few - to find the Warlocks and kill them before they can release Morgoth from the Void.

Aragorn sent out a summon to all of the realms of Middle-Earth, from Harad to the posts in Arnor, calling folk from all walks of life to put their lives on the line for the security of not only Middle-Earth and its people, but all lives in all parts of the world. Peasants and warriors, barbarians and Lords – elves, men, dwarves, and hobbits are all subject to the call. Should Morgoth be freed, it will not be the Kingdom of Man that perishes – all life and all things natural will perish before his wicked wrath without discrimination. Those who answer the call have made the journey to Minas Terith – the City of Kings. There, in Minas Tirith, those who answered the call stand before King Elissar and Queen Arwen, given their quest and the blessing of the King and Queen, and then they must set off to find and hunt the Warlocks of Angmar.

Races:
The race of Men has become the super-power of Middle-Earth under the reign of Aragorn Elissar Telcontar. The Fourth Age, the Age of the Dominion of Man, has seen the Reunited Kingdoms of Man prosper and have fully recovered from the damage done during the War of the Ring. The Armies of Man hold the line against the forces of the shadow in the lost realm of Arnor, lead by Prince Eldarion. Mankind has earned much respect amongst the other races of Middle-Earth for their steadfast resolve against the tides of darkness during the War of the Ring and their willingness to sacrifice themselves to do what must be done. They do, however, still suffer from the human condition, the darkness that looms in the hearts of all men. Gondor and Rohan make up the bulk of the forces of the Reunited Kingdom, as the Haradrim are still unsure if King Elessar is trustworthy and some still resist the offer of peace and unification from the West.

The Elves of Middle-Earth, for the most part, have returned to their homeland in the Undying Lands. However, a small sect of a few hundred Elves remains in their forests sanctuaries around Middle-Earth, remaining secretive and withdrawn from most of the world. They retain their closest secrets and guard them with their lives. Those who enter their forests without invitation, being a known friend, traveling with an elf, or bearing the Elven Star are given a warning, and if the warning is not heeded then the trespassers will be shot. It is rumored, however, that Eleven Ships sail back to Middle-Earth from the Undying Lands, but those are simple tales told by folk trying to hold on to hope for as long as possible.

The Elves have grown stronger since the fall of Sauron, with the world returning to its natural order, but with the Warlocks and the Sauron Cults plaguing the North, they have yet to be at their full potential, and they are slowly growing weaker. The Natural Balance of the world is slowly being upset once more, and the disruption of the natural cycle is weakening them, just as they grew weaker under Sauron’s reign.
Little has changed with the Dwarves. They still remain in their mountain cities and strongholds and mines, forging blades, armor, and finery of astounding quality. The Dwarf Kingdoms have started collaborating to retake one of their greatest mines from the Goblin horde that over-ran it long ago: Moria. Even with the Balrog and the Lurker gone, thousands of goblins make their home in the dead halls of Moria, breeding and festering in the darkness. The War for Moria has taken many decades, and the Dwarves have yet to reach the inner sanctum of the mine and cross the bridge of Kaza-Dum. The Dwarves remain one of the proudest races in Middle-Earth, their stubbornness surpassing even that of Men.

After the War of the Ring, the Dwarves were severely crippled by the forces of Sauron, and so they were forced to open trade with the Kingdom on Man to regain losses and be able to build the armies and war machines needed to take back Moria. King Elissar made it very clear to the Dwarf Lords that Man would offer aid if they had the capacity, but there are simply not enough men; with the war in the north and the Haradrim incursion in the south.

The Hobbits of the Shire, unlike the other races of Middle-Earth, have successfully assumed their lives as it was before the War of the Ring. The only thing that has changed with the Hobbits is their pride and their willingness to take part in adventure. The tale of the Baggins family has inspired the once-quite Hobbits to expand their horizons and travel the world, but not without their carefree Hobbit spirit. Many courts have taken Hobbits in as assistance in political matters, finding their care-free and bright outlook on situations to be very helpful in matters of the Court.

All but extinct, the Wizards of Middle-Earth - the true Wizards, are impossible to find unless they truly wish to be found. Gandalf the White has not been seen since the War of the Ring ended, when he sailed across the sea to the Undying lands. Gandalf is the last of the White Wizards, the highest tier of the Istari. Wizards are wise and wealthy in their powers with magic. They all bear the appearance of elderly men, though they are very long-lived and vigorous.

In the Family Legacy, be sure to include any powerful heirlooms that have/will/might pass to your character
Biography: the personal history of your character to the present. What they did and who they were before they answered the call to King Elissar and rode to Gondor. What significant things happened in the past that forged them in to who they were.

Character Name: Bránwulf Aléthor, son of Brékker, High Born of Rohan
(pronounced BRAWN-wulf)
Species Human, with Dúnedain from his mother.
Race: Rohan
Birthplace: Rohan in the Realm of Edoras, in the capitol of Meduseld.
Age: 54, though remains physically in his late twenties due to the Númenorian-Dúnedain blood in his veins that came from his mother.
Physical Attributes: 6’5” tall, 215 pounds of muscle weight.
Appearance: http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk215/agnulfr/thor-character-poster-internazionale-chris-hemsworth.jpg
http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk215/agnulfr/thor-movie-crop.jpg
Voice of Bránwulf (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UATg4wpNges)

Armor/Clothing: Bránwulf wears a red wool shirt with a high collar, brown leather britches, black leather riding gloves, and black leather riding boots. On top of that, he wears a Rohirrim steel scale-mail rider’s jerkin underneath the traditional iron and leather armor of Rohirrim Riders; including the shoulder guards, greaves, and forearm guards. Bránwulf wears a custom tailored Rohirrim cloak - it is the usual deep green, but it is lined with warg fur on the side towards the back and on the inside of the hood from his first kill in combat against warg-riding orcs that attempted to raid Rohan.
Weapons: http://www.ucforums.com/photopost/data/500/DSC01037.JPG

Guthwine is the sword of Éomer, the late King of Rohan. While Éomer’s son Elfwine got the throne and ruled with kindness and fairness, Elfwine’s half-brother and military advisor, Bránwulf, recieved the sword of Éomer to lead the Rohirrim.
http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk215/agnulfr/broken-witch-bane.jpg

Witchbane is the sword used by Eowyn to slay the Witch-King of Angmar at the Battle of Pelenor Fields. With the death of Eowyn, the sword was broken in to several shards and spread throughout Middle-Earth, for the sword was ever tainted with the Witch-King’s darkness. The hilt and first foot of the blade was given to Elfwine by Elboron when Elfwine was coranated at the King of Rohan. The broken blade found itself in to Bránwulf’s hands by Elfwine offering the blade as a gift to cool Bránwulf’s temper after a heated argument concerning the security of the Riddermark. The gift was graceously accepted, as the two men saw it as reuniting their family in the Golden Halls of Meduseld.
Bránwulf’s goal is to reforge the sword, believing the legend that the steel is cursed to be a simple myth. The blade is currently the size of a large knife.

http://www.schildmaid-eowyn.de/Eigene%20Gewandung/Dernhelm/Schild11.jpg

Bránwulf’s shield is made from thick planks of oak with leather stretched over the surface and iron rim and bashing cap to hold the leather in place.

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b444/Jimmy3LT/rohan_spear.jpg

The standard spear for the Rohirrim, though the tip is steel instead of iron.
Trinkets: Fang Necklace: The fang of a Fell Beast on a leather chord given to him by his half-cousin Elboron when Bránwulf came of age.
Mount: Eorlan (http://www.petanim.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/friesian-horse-netherlands-1440x900-e1297463452214.jpg) of the Mearas. Eorlan has long been one of Bránwulf’s companion through many hardships. Eorlan is stubborn and brave, just like Bránwulf. Being on of the Mearas, Eorlan is at roughly the same moral and intellectual standard as Men, and many jest that in the relationship between Bránwulf and Eorlan, the horse is the smarted of the two.

Personality: Bránwulf is a very head strong man with fire in his blood and passion in his heart. His years in the Rohirrim have made him very tactically aware, but at times be believes that the best way to solve a situation is like a charge of the Rohirrim - head first and full speed ahead.
Family Legacy: Bránwulf is descended from the strongest and proudest line in Rohan. While he is not directly related to the royal line, he is proud of the honor of his heritage. Eowyn and Eomer, the greatest champions of Rohan since its founding, are part of his legacy. Eomer, the greatest King of Rohan who brought wealth and life back to the Riddermark and Eowyn, the woman who slayed the Witch-King of Angmar. Then, there is General Brékker, Bránwulf’s biological father, who faught at Pellinor Fields as a young man and stood against the hordes of Mordor at the Black Gate, as well as the armies of Isengard at Helms Deep. War is in Bránwulf’s blood and soul, to his very core.
Biography: Lothíriel is Bránwulf’s mother, the widowed queen of Rohan who was once married to the late King Eomer. Her elongated life as a Númenorian-Dúnedain has allowed her to outlive her spouse. Her late-husband’s closest friend and military advisor, Brékker Aléthor comforted her in her time of loss, and they soon grew very close. The General and Lothíriel were wed and bore Bránwulf, the half-brother to Elfwine. While Bránwulf was still High Born, he was only to be King of Rohan should Elfwine die. Lothíriel poured her attentions on Elfwine, instructing and guiding the young King in the way of peace and politics while Brékker schooled Bránwulf in the ways of war and conquest. When Elfwine was coranated as King of Rohan and swore to uphold the Oath of Eorl, Bránwulf was chosen to be Elfwine’s military councilor.

King Elfwine and Captain Bránwulf butt heads and rub each other's egos the wrong way many times. Because Elfwine was raised by a wise and compassionate mother, he has become kind, fair, and understanding in his rule, making him one of the more popular kings Rohan has ever had. Bránwulf, however, was raised by his headstrong and militaristic father, making Bránwulf brash, blunt, and lacking in finesse in the matter of words. When the call came from High King Elissar, the note was adressed to King Elfwine, but the note requested for Bránwulf personally, the Captain’s martial skill well known by the High King, since it is the Rohirrim that defends the Reunited Kingdom from the Dunleding hordes and brigands from the realm of Rhűn.

Character Name: Bori Warg-Slayer, son of Ulwarth the Traitor
Species: Human
Race: Man of Rhun
Birthplace: the northern region of Khand (a desert region where Rhun borders Mordor)
Age: 28
Physical Attributes: 6' even and just under 170 pounds when not armored.
Appearance: Bori has an even, tanned complexion with short jet black hair to match, his eyes are a shade of light green which is somewhat rare in Rhun. A great deal of the left side of his face is covered with a faded burn scar.

Armor/Clothing: For the purposes of his intended journey Bori carries only two sets of clothing, a set of Rhun armor (Pictured here (http://www.wetanz.com/assets/Uploads/lotreasterlinglrg2.jpg)) and a set of simple black finery on the off chance he is in a situation where constantly wearing armor would be inappropriate.

Weapons: http://www.alleycatscratch.com/lotr/Human/Rohan/Armor/Rohan_Shield_sj.jpg
Trinkets: Bori keeps a supposedly magical star pendent with him at all times, it was given to him when he was a young boy by a woman thought to be an Elven sorceress. Though for all the years he's had it Bori still doesn't actually know if she actually was elven, or if the pendant is actually magical.
Mount: Bori has no mount of his own preferring to use his own feet rather then those of a horse.

Personality: Bori is a man who more often then not is driven by emotion rather then reason, that's not to say that he is unreasonable, only that if he only has moments to act he's not likely to put thought into his actions.

Family Legacy: (Tell me if you want something changed) Bori's legacy is not a long one nor a mighty one and has probably never even been heard of outside of Rhun, but he is proud of it none the less. When the Men of Rhun allied themselves with Lord Sauron, Bori's grandfather and father (who was barely 15 at the time) attempted to fight against Mordor rather then serve it. But when word of this reached the leaders of Rhun the whole village was captured and imprisoned. Though only a boy, Bori's father Ulwarth was branded a traitor like all the other's and was known as such for the rest of his life. Even with such a branding Bori thinks of his father's betrayal as something to be proud of.

Biography: The life Bori led before answering King Elissar's call to Minas Tirith was a fairly interesting one. He was born in a somewhat small village to an infamous traitor and nearly from the day he learned to walk, Bori was trained in the art of combat as was the custom in Rhun. While many men have gone on to farming in these times of peace, Bori decided to stay and become a proper warrior and over many years he became a very effective fighter. After many years of training, Bori's final test finally came in the form of wargs, a pack of the beasts had been sighted near the outskirts of the villiage and Bori was tasked with killing them before someone got hurt. While there were 3 other young warriors with him Bori was the only one to come back alive and was thus dubbed "Warg-Slayer."

After this victory, Bori spent many more years as a soldier of Rhun in theory at least. In practice however, there were few battles that needed his blade so Bori lived much more like a mercenary, travelling from town to town and taking jobs that did not warrant calling the whole city guard for. It was a modest living, but then opportunity arose, a call from Minas Tirith arrived in Rhun. To decide who would go to Gondor and hear the king, a grand tournament was held. The competition lasted nearly 2 months, as hundreds of warriors from throughout the land turned up. At the end however Bori stood victorious and has been given the honor of travalling to Minas Tirith and taking on what ever quest the king deemed him worthy enough to undertake.

Character Name: Lilinth Elrohen
Species: Elf
Race: Rivendell Elf
Birthplace: Rivendell, realm of Elrond in Middle Earth.
Age: A young elf, age 56. Looks around 20.
Physical Attributes: 5’ 9”. 150lbs, very fit.
Appearance:
http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae270/ZeroStrategy/41811.jpg
Armor/Clothing: Lilinth wears a lighter suit of mithril armor gifted to her by her father Elladan when she decided to become a warrior even though it was against his will. He gave it to her for protection. The armor itself has been changed from the traditional silver color to a dark dull golden color. She wears leather leggings and leather boots as well. Her right forearm has a leather arm guard. On top of all this she wears a dark black hooded cloak.
Weapons:
http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae270/ZeroStrategy/Sword.jpg
http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae270/ZeroStrategy/Sword2.jpg
http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae270/ZeroStrategy/Bow.jpg
Trinkets: She carries a small ring around her neck given to her by her mother, it glows with the colors of the emotions she is feeling, was given because she rarely expresses her emotions on her face. She keeps it hidden below her armor.
Mount: She rides a pure white mare names Ilitha. The horse saved her life and although it is just a normal horse, not one of the usual intelligent horses that elves so pride themselves on but Lilinth believes it is smart enough and she adores it. When she is around her horse she may not show it but the ring she hides from view shines a very calm yellow color.
Personality: Lilinth is a very abnormal person, she is kind, sacrificing, and a truly caring person but she refuses to show it. The reason for that is unknown but she usually comes off cold and rude to those who don’t take the time to get to know her by her actions as well as the occasional true emotion she shows. She has always been a warrior choosing the harder life for an Elven woman in the path of a warrior. While she is one of the most skilled fighters she is looked down on because she is a woman by many though she shows them with her skills in combat and quick thinking. Her mother always use to say if someone could bring her to show her emotions and stop trying to hide how she felt she would become a known warrior throughout the realm for her courage and selflessness.
Family Legacy: She is the daughter Elladan the half elf, son of Elrond and Celebrian and brother of Arwen. Her mother is a normal Elven woman from an unremarkable family without a rich history. Besides her mother being an old elf there is not much to say about her. She is the first born of her father and mother and she was supposed to stay in Rivendell but chose to leave. When she left she got a mithril cuirass from her father and a ring from her mother which shows the emotions of the wearer. She was certainly not born for war but she has become bred for it, her parents though always resistant to the notion believe in it as strongly as she does.
Biography: Lilinth was born in Rivendell by her parents and raised as one would expect of two loving parents. She got into watching the men train when she was a small child around 6 though and soon enough was training to fight herself from the age of 12. When she was but 20 years of age she went on an expedition to fight orcs whom had taken an important position outside of her home and though it was a slaughter of the orcs she herself learned a fondness for battle. By 40, before she had even fully matured as an elf, she was chosen to lead a group of their warriors and has done so since, her skills in battle have continued to grow to what they are now.
Though not many elves remained the small group still inhabiting Rivendell fought with courage and honor and by the time the call was sent she was a battle hardened warrior. When she said she was going to join the battle her parents though against it did not stop her. She was not over the mature age and though they were parents she had the right to choose. Instead they gifted her with the mithril plate and ring she wears around her neck. Now she journeys forth to do what duty demands and answer the call.

hooray people taking interest and making awesome characters!

Hatless, just an FYI, Bránwulf will be a bit of an ass to Bori in the beginning, since the Battle of Pelinnor Fields was one of Brékker's favorite stories to tell.

Character Name: Starawyn, princess of Dol Amroth, daughter of Alphros

Species Human

Race: Human-Númenor

Birthplace: Dol Amroth

Age: 49 but looks 25

Physical Attributes: Thin but sturdy standing at five feet four inches and weighing in at 120 pounds.

Appearance: Starawyn (http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41M5O5DOcDL.jpg) is a rather comely young looking maiden with long wavy flaxen hair which falls softly around her face framing her deep green emerald eyes that stand out in stark contrast to her fair skin.

Armor/Clothing: Starawyn wears dresses of the day worn over Mithril which was given to her by her father as a form of protection. The mithril was gifted to the family by the elves for aiding in the call to help Frodo save Middle Earth.

Weapons: Save one lone sword, Starawyn carries nothing else but daggers hidden in various places on her person.

Trinkets: A heart pendant worn on a chain around her neck given to her by her parents at birth.

Mount: A white stallion named Gwain, (http://i56.tinypic.com/2qui2hj.jpg) which means noble. Gwain is a direct descendant of Shadowfax. Gwains senses are keener than most other creatures and he is a watch dog of sorts, alerting Starawyn of impending danger. He has been her confidant and friend since he became hers as a young child. His royal blood line is evident as his speed is matched by none other.

Personality: Starawyn is a gentle woman, unparalleled only by her fierce sense of loyalty and protectiveness of that which she considers worthy or of those that she loves. Some would say that she was strong willed, while others would say she was just plain stubborn.

Family Legacy: Starawyn is the only daughter of one of the kings of Dol Amroth. When Alphros Orcbane and her brother Talimar marched against the orcs, Starawyn fought also, much to her father’s dismay and against his will. Starawyn would not hear his reasons for wishing her not to fight, thinking them to be silly and unfounded, thus making the trek into battle. Talimar was lost in battle but Starawyn killed the orc that killed her brother by use of nothing other than her sword and her story became legend throughout the realms of middle earth.

Biography: Starawyn has never formally denounced her heritage as royalty but has struggled with the entire politics of royalty and being ordered to act as a princess, do as a princess would and be treated as a princess. While she realizes her place as a princess, she has rebelled against it, feeling that all people of middle earth should be treated as equal. Starawyn has always stood firm in her belief that each person has their own destiny to fulfill no matter how big or small it may seem in the grand scheme of life. Having been trained in the use of swords and daggers since she was all but able to walk, when Elissar called for her aid, Starawyn escaped into the night to answer the call before her father could object.

He wears heavy woolen black pants that are usually tucked into his leather boots. He wears fingerless leather gloves so that his archery is hindered as little as possible. When combat is imminent and Vonya has time to prepare, his boots and gloves will be replaced by dark steel greaves and gauntlets, well made and light-weight. He will also use steel-plated shoulder guards. Over all this he usually wears a heavy, dark cloak with a large hood.

http://www.cbswords.com/images/glamdringdetail.jpg

Trinkets: The only ornamentation Vonya wears is a six-pointed cloak clasp and an iron bangle around his left wrist.

Mount: Vonya rides a champagne stallion, Roch, whose name literally translates into 'Horse' showing the little love shared between Vonya and his mount. Despite the clash of personalities, Roch is a strong horse and will take Vonya where ever he needs to go. http://images.pictureshunt.com/pics/s/stallion-8880.jpg

Personality: Vonya is a fairly quiet man, well spoken, polite and slow to anger. Though if he is pushed too much Vonya will show a vicious side and a fiery passion for those that he cares for. He is loyal but slow to trust and is weary of those he doesn't know.

Family Legacy: Vonya's father, Venahil, and mother Aryien, were both Důnedain, showing in Vonya's long life and skill in the wilds, specific ranger qualities. Despite the impressive blood lines, Vonya and his family were simple folk - his father was a blacksmith in Gondor lands and taught Vonya his craft from a young age. Vonya's mother was a talented tailor and cloth-weaver. Vonya was taught the blacksmith's craft from a young age and now has a strong understanding of metal and blacksmith workmanship.

Biography: Originally Vonya was headed along the path of a blacksmith, like his father before him, but despite the early metalcraft lessons, Vonya always had a fierce will to travel and learn of other races, especially elves. His dreams came to fruition when he was granted the oppurtunity to become a ranger, one that he took without looking back.

-------

EDIT: My spoilers failed and I only put the link in /: Sorry :[

Also, hope the character's alright! I'm fairly sure that the lore around his Důnedain blood is all good, but tell me if anything isn't.

hooray people taking interest and making awesome characters!

Hatless, just an FYI, Bránwulf will be a bit of an ass to Bori in the beginning, since the Battle of Pelinnor Fields was one of Brékker's favorite stories to tell.

Don't worry I had planned on having him say something to Branwulf to make him deserve it.

*ears burn* ow! the blasphemy hurts! lol XD

Lol.

I'm just feeling frustration.

You've seen me roleplay before.

I love being creative and different. But...lol...its hard when the very rules you're playing with are inflexible.

All though I agree, fiction becomes broken when rules let you do everything. But rules that let you do nothing are inflexible and are a challenge for the writer.

"When one's mind is stretched to new dimensions its hard to go back into older dimensions"

Which sums up my head.

Character Name: Thompkins Thor and Billy, Billy is my best mate

Species: Dwarf

Race: Ered Luin

Birthplace:

Age: 30

Physical Attributes: 4'5"

Appearance:

Well you certainly believed you have seen it all, until now. There he stood looking as regal as possible, feeding a goat and brushing its fur. His armor was shiny and so was his metal helmet. His tawny brown beard peaking out, he turned towards you with his small eyes. His helmet had horns on them, you're suprised to see at his side a short sword and he carried a halberd with him. You wondered how the goat carried any of it. But you stare at the plump and regal goat and you cannot believe your eyes. He fixes his curly beard and smooths over his helmet hair to greet you. His skin dark, and his eyes a nice dark amber color. You accept his greetings, but are not sure how to feel about the rest.
Exactly like image

http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m507/Dream_Sequencer/billy.png?t=1303330938

Armor/Clothing: See appearance- He wears a steel breasplate, shined and polished. His helmet is made from cheap silver a gift from his brother, but he cannot exactly remember why it is. Underneath his steel breastplate is a chainmail shirt with frabric and leather, its the red frabric and blue leather in the appearance. Underneath his chainmail shirt is a pair of chainmail pants with some knee guards also steel and polished to perfection. And he wears a pair of leather chainmail boots.

His weapons include a halberd lance, see appearance. And a short sword. (http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/12/11411/RenderedSword.jpg)

Trinkets: A Goat Necklace (http://www.wireworkscustomjewelry.com/shop/images/FFAramgoat.jpg)

Mount: Billy the Goat- See Appearance- Yep A Goat

Personality: Some dwarves are not sure if Thompkins is a valuable member of society or if he's a complete embarassment. Sure Thompkins looks like the typical dwarf, greedy like a dwarf should be and sometimes a little obsessive over golds and valuables. But it all stops there. Thompkins has probably spent many of his years trying to become a member of "regal" society. To acend dwarves into fine richness. Some wonder if he's just trying to achieve becoming an elf. Thompkins has a rather awkward obsession with goats, he finds them the finest animal around so more powerful than a horse. Or so he says. Thompkins is more intelligent then some of the dwarves, but no for a long shot and he becomes unintentionally funny more than someone you'd take seriously. Even still he carries a warrior's heart and can fight like a true dwarf.

Family Legacy:

Johnathan Thor- The Blind- Father- Commoner- Most known as the blindest, dumbest dwarf in the world. Not like real blind, but he was known for his total lack of stragety and tact.

Margete Thor- The Ugly- Mother- Commoner- Most known as the ugliets dwarf woman alive. There isn't much to say.

Willy Winks Thor- The Thief- Brother- Commoner- Only known for stealing items and being a no good in battle. Gave Thompkins the silver goat ram helmet for his birthday.

*Not Thompkins is exceptional in battle, where he inheirted from his family isn't sure. Half the family tree bursted into flames due to a small "accidental" house fire.

Biography:

Who says dwarves can't have nice things? Elves live in beautiful forest, with unicorns. I think there are unicorns, whatever I didn't read to far into the book to actually know if they do or don't. Maybe they just have horses. Gotta stop getting my information from lullaby books. One of these days, I am going to be the richest, most beautiful dwarf in the world.

I guess this desire stems from childhood. I awoke from the womb, but almost died because my own mother was so ugly. Dwarf woman aren't so pretty to look at in the first place, but someone must do a reverse birth with my mom and throw her back into the womb.

My father was no general warrior, actually after a while they just told him to stop coming down to fight stuff with them because he was just to stupid. Old fart kept bumping into walls and generally got direction lost. Never asked anyone for directions either, to stubborn to realize his own faults.

My brother was a laidback fool, who stole men's riches. Well it was clear he was going to do, even as a baby. Stole some of my mother's teeth, they weren't worth much, but it got her breath to stop smelling so rotten.

I loved my great grandfather. At least he was the only one of the family who was accomplished. Known as the Goblin Sleeper. He killed at least fifty Goblins in his dear old sleep. Taught me everything I know about sword fighting now. One of these days I'm going to be able to defeat men in my sleep.

My best friend was always Billy. A big horned sheep, that I found as a child one day. I never got along with any of the other dwarf children. They weren't to kind about my families decline in defective dwarfness. But Billy, Billy and I were like best mates. We played tag, and we practiced our sword fighting. I tamed the beast Billy was, to one day ride him in battle.

One of these days I am going to carry a title and bring back the Thor family into great glory again. And we're going to have nice things.

Character Name: Gorgan son of Irith, Lord of the Stone
Species: Dwarf
Race: Morian
Birthplace: Moria
Age: 57
Physical Attributes: 127 lbs, 4'7"
http://images.ados.fr/photo/8587278858/galerie-personnages-masculins/dwarf-1642416d7e.jpg

Armor/Clothing: Woolen Udergarments, Leather Pants-Boots-Vest- and Gloves, Steel Arm and Leg Braces, Mithril Chainmail Shirt (Being the King of the Dwarves, he deserves it eh?), and Steel Helm
Weapons: Steel kite sheild Dwarven Waraxe,
Trinkets: Signet of the Stone- His Sign of office
Mount: http://static.flickr.com/152/335766947_254f889543_z.jpg

Personality: Gorgan is definetely not a snowflake. If he was a snowflake, he would be the one that gets in your eye and permenately blinds you for saying as such. Being a king of the Dwarves isnt a job for ninny's. His manner of speak is blunt as a rock, so to speak. He is direct and uses little if any diplomacy. While he doesn't mind you saying he is short, he will kick your @#!*% to the far side of the moon if you say he is simple minded or weak. Despite his lack of diplomacy, Gorgan is generally good natured, listening to other's advice when need be.

Family Legacy:
Irith, Son of Eleckka the Gem- Not a perticularly notable dwarf. He served in many fights against Sauron, and more lately is serving in Moria.

Elivila Daughter of Iva- A remarkable example of how stubborn dwarves are. Notably short fore even a dwarf. Met Irith in Moria.

Character Name: Galdeon Durrel, son of Farenor, Pathfinder and Explorer of the King’s realm.

Species Human, grandfather (Father’s side) was Dunédain

Race: Rohan

Birthplace: Rohan, from the outskirts of Edoras, near the end of Harrowdale.

Age: 45. Looks about 38, but the ancestral Dunédain is wearing off, and it is shows.

Physical Attributes: 5’11”. Roughly 175lbs. (Without gear)

Appearance:
http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1221/560819203_d351cb9fc0_o.jpg

A larger beard though. Fuller on the sideburns and chin.

Armor/Clothing: Galdeon needs to pack light, but still pack a punch if the time comes for battle. His clothing reflects that, and he is always equipped for whatever weather lies ahead.

Galdeon wears a light undershirt under a layer of sturdy Dwarven chainmail. It is NOT mithril but is nearly indestructible due to its ancient origins. Galdeon found this treasure when exploring and ancient Dwarven burial ground deep inside the Mines of Moria.

On top of this chainmail, Galdeon wears a dull maroon sleeveless wool shirt. It is sturdy, reliable, and grimy from his numerous journeys.

A thick, black leather belt wraps around his waist. It has a large brass buckle with a horse-head design carved into it. This is his Grandfather’s (mother’s side) Rohirrim belt, which was worn in the battle of Pelenor fields alongside King Theodin.

Continuing down, we reach Galdeon’s trousers. They are a dull grayish green in color, resembling the mountains and forests he traverses regularly. They have thick studded leather patches near the knees and shins for extra protection when rock and tree climbing.

Galdeon’s Elven boots are exceptionally comfortable and warm. These thick leather boots are almost as tough as steel but as lightweight as running shoes. He acquired these magnificent boots in battle against a band of pirates that had been preying on peaceful Elven trade ships.

Thick but worn leather gloves with metal studded knuckles are on Galdeon's hands. These give him exceptional protection from the cold and give him extra grip when climbing trees, mountains, and when sword-fighting. They have strengthened leather pads on the index and middle fingers to give extra control when firing a bow.

To complete the ensemble, Galdeon has a camouflage cloak. Throughout his numerous travels, Galdeon has pieced together a patchwork cloak of textures, hues, and materials. In the forests and mountains where he frequents, the cloak makes him nearly impossible to see in low-light as well as if he remains completely still near vegetation or rock outcroppings. It has saved Galdeon’s life more times than he cares to admit and has aided in ending the lives of more Orcs and beasts than could be believable.

Weapons:

Syroth (see-roth):
http://images.wikia.com/dragonage/images/7/70/Vigilance_%28longsword%29.png
This Elven long sword was given to Galdeon by an ancient elf smith. Galdeon recovered a family heirloom that had been stolen by sea-raiders and brought to Middle Earth. In return, the smith crafted Syroth in gratitude. There is no sword it’s equal, at least to Galdeon.

Night’s Whisper:
http://www.schuetzen-waibstadt.de/11SV_Bogen_Images/longbow.gif
This expertly carved bow has been with Galdeon through thick and thin. It is reliable, portable, and strong. Although not as large as a Dunédain longbow, it packs a hefty punch and can be fired even more precisely on the move. Galdeon uses it to hunt animals and enemies with deadly precision. It is accompanied by a large quiver that can hold roughly thirty-five arrows

Dwarven Hand Axe:
http://www.by-the-sword.com/acatalog/images/cd-184.jpg
Galdeon acquired this trusty axe during one of his numerous expeditions into Dwarven mines. Galdeon sometimes uses it in his left hand when wielding Syroth. It can be thrown if necessary. In addition to its obvious combat role, Galdeon uses it to chop firewood, meat, bones, and pretty much anything else that needs a good chop!

Field Knife:
Simple yet efficient. Galdeon’s field knife is standard in the realms of men. It is a tool more than a weapon, and will only be used as a last resort or for a very close-up stealth kill.

Trinkets: Galdeon loves trinkets! He usually has a handful around his neck and wrists at all times. As a pathfinder and explorer, he has encountered treasures beyond compare. Usually, he can sell off a few trinkets for all the food, wine, and women he needs on his travels but there are a token few he will never leave home without.

Hearth glow Trinket: This brass trinket holds an orange stone within its square shape, resembling the flames of a hearth. This trinket, when exposed to sunlight, will store the radiance and emit heat during the cold night. This allows for Galdeon to sleep without building a fire for warmth, making his presence untraceable.

Orcsbane trinket: Similar to Frodo’s famous sword, Sting, the Orcsbane trinket will sparkle blue in the presence of Orcs and Goblins. Galdeon wears it around his wrist.

Sunbeam Crystal Amulet: This amulet always accompanies Galdeon when exploring dangerous mountains. It has the ability to release a huge blast of light, resembling the sun. Its original use is to repel trolls and to turn them to stone. The trinket will exhaust itself after one use and then become merely decorative.

Mount: Galdeon will use any horse if provided one. He occasionally will bring his trusty mule, Bo, along with him due to his ability to carry lots of equipment (and treasure), as well as consume less food as a full-grown Rohirrim warhorse.

Personality: When Galdeon is safe at home has a strong personality that all enjoy. He often tells epic tales of his journeys to far off lands and dangerous caves. Some of these have a strange tendency to get more outlandish every time he tells them. When on the road, he is the one man that everyone relies on to get them home safe with pockets of treasure. There is a sad side to Galdeon as well though. He has seen the evil in all reaches of the world. He has been hunted by all manner of beasts and has narrowly escaped with his life more times than he can count. In a way, he has become immune to the fears of the unknown and the things that go bump in the night. When he sees innocent others fall prey to the evils of the world that he has managed to avoid for so long, it brings him great sorrow.

For the most part, Galdeon is cool and calculating and does what is necessary to survive. His out of the box thinking makes sense, but is almost foolhardy in some respects. People often give him the “it’s so crazy it just might work” look.

Family Legacy: Galdeon does not come from a line of nobles, but he is by no means a peasant. His family has held a few prominent military positions, including his Rohirrim grandfather, Eld the lancer, who assisted in training Rohan recruits in the art of horsemanship and warfare. His other grandfather was a Dúnedain ranger and ended up serving alongside Faramir during the war of the ring.

Biography: Galdeon’s mother and father did not care for Galdeon as much as his older brother, Farenor II, who was an outstanding warrior and the epitome of all that Rohan stood for. When Farenor II was killed in battle fighting Worgs, Galdeon’s parents were wracked with pain at the loss of their beloved son, and Galdeon soon felt abandoned by his family. Galdeon rebelled against the norm of young Rohirrim men and took up the ideals of his Dúnedain grandfather. He still held his Rohirrim heritage in high regard, but he desired freedom from the way of the horse warriors. Galdeon would frequently abandon his duties on the training field to explore the woods and mountains outside of Harrowdale. His parents and drill instructors alike could not stop the ambitious you Galdeon from pursuing his trips and let him do as he pleased. The other warriors looked down on Galdeon until they saw that he was frequently returning with treasures they had never seen.

Galdeon soon made a living escorting bands of warriors safely through the mountains and forests and behind enemy lines. As his name spread, private contractors and treasure hunters would send requests to Galdeon to retrieve long lost artifacts deep in the crevices of Middle Earth. Soon, Galdeon grew rich and knowledgeable of the world.

His most notable journey included a visit across the sea to the island of Númenor. There, Galdeon got back in touch with his Dúnedain heritage even further, and acquired riches and his beloved sword Syroth, from an old Elven craft village. Here, Galdeon was exposed to truly finely crafted items, and saw the stale and earthy qualities that inhibit most crafting in Middle Earth. Upon returning to his home in Rohan, Galdeon was welcomed for his service to the other regions and was no longer looked down upon. After all, coming home with riches, and knowledge of a world most would dream of visiting, does have its advantages.

Upon hearing the request sent out by King Elissar, Galdeon immediately knew his services could be of great value. Having received a personal letter of request from one of King Elissar’s military scout leaders, Galdeon knew that fame, and most importantly, fortune awaited him. He rode to the White City to answer the call.

Character Name:Alsyana Celebore (Al-see-ah-nah keh-lehb-oh-ray)
Species: Elf
Race: Lothlorien (Technically, according to the wiki, after Galadriel left all those left in Lothlorien moved to East Lorien over a period of, I think several hundred years or so...)
Birthplace: East Lorien, realm of Lord Celeborn
Age: 83
Physical Attributes: Height: 5'7" Weight: 143 lbs.
Appearance: http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p133/sprints42/stories/RP/8379a686673826263917e3fbab58e64a.jpg
Armor/Clothing: Alsyana wears light chain mail under a tunic in leaf-green, trimmed in silver. She wears brown leggings and brown boots. Alsyana also wears brown leather archer's gloves that seem to flow into the matching bracers on her arms. Around her waist is a think leather belt, with a small belt-pouch attached. She carries a small rucksack on her back for food and other necessities.
Weapons:
Sword:

Bow and Quiver:

Dagger:
http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p133/sprints42/Weapons/scan0011.jpg
Trinkets: Alsyana has a silver ring passed down from her mother's side. It's said to bring good fortune to those who take good care of it. Her mother called it "Estel" (hope). She also has a small silver leaf shaped like a heart on a chain that her brothers gave her, filled with their love.
Mount: Alquafëa (Swan spirit) is a dappled grey with slightly higher intelligence. She is very loyal, with a hidden strength. Her best attribute, though, is her speed. Alquafëa is named for the way she runs as though flying, and Alsyana is not allowed to enter races while riding her anymore.
Personality: Having grown up around loud, boisterous brothers, Alsyana is the quiet one. Her father calls her "silver heart" (her last name) for the empathy she has toward living things, especially plants and non-predatory animals. It also hints at her musical talent, which she hides as much as possible, as she doesn't really like the attention. Alsyana is content to stay in the shadows and do what she can, leaving the glory to her brothers or anyone else she is working with. She doesn't mind getting her hands dirty, even if it means having to kill someone. In her mind, survival is the point of fighting. Her sense of duty often comes before her heart's desires.
Family Legacy: Alsyana has three older brothers: Landion, Rissien, and Meldiron. Her parents, Locien and Vanya, are seldom seen, as they feel most at home with the trees.
Biography: Alsyana was raised mostly by her brothers. Her parents cared for her for the first ten or twenty years of her life, then wandered back to the trees. She never felt that they didn't love her, they just knew that she didn't need them around all the time. Her brothers are the ones that taught her how to shoot a bow, how to fight with a sword, and basically how to defend herself against a bigger, stronger opponent. They taught her the ways of the trees and how to pass through the forest with little or no trail. After her third decade, they took her on trips to see the world outside the forest. Life was not so peaceful there, and Alsyana got her fill of fighting before her sixth decade. When she announced that she was going to join King Aragorn, her family was saddened, but not surprised. Alsyana had developed a need to help those weaker than herself, and this was what the king was doing. So they sent her off, her mother having given her an heirloom passed down so long its origins were forgotten and her brothers having given her a joined gift of a silver heart-shaped leaf pendant. They said it was "filled with their love" for protection.
Her only regret was that she wouldn't be there when her precious childhood friend came back. She hadn't been able to wait for him even though she'd given him something special to her as a promise.

That only took me forever and a day. I kept having to look things up in Elvish so I'd sound like I knew what I was talking about...

You are welcome. Im sitting here trying to figure out what the blazes I am going to do for a character. I can decide if I want to be a human, or elf. Though there are not any male elves, so I think I may do that. :D

Here I come ladies! XD

LOL. That would be awesome. Wouldn't it be fun if our characters knew each other? Though I'm not sure if it would be better if they hated each other or what... Hmmm...

Zak
06-24-2011, 04:41 PM
Knew each other? Thats a thought. I havent really been able to come up with a past for me anyway. I was thinking of doing a loner character, just traveling around on foot by himself, but that sounds kinda sad XD

Any ideas on how they would know each other? Childhood friends that are separated and meet up again?

Allan-Hatai
06-24-2011, 05:11 PM
That could work. They probably haven't seen each other for forty years or so... Especially if his parents were wanderers or something and stayed in one place long enough for him to grow up and be able to defend himself. Maybe they asked Alsyana's brothers to teach him while they were teaching her.

Character Name: Órëthalion Eärfalas
Species: Elf
Race: Rivendell Elf
Birthplace: Rivendell, Realm of Lord Elron.
Age: 79
Physical Attributes: Standing in at 6’1, 184 pounds.
Appearance: Órëthalion is a strong elf, being slightly more built than the other elven men, though not overly muscular. He has medium length brown hair, most of which is tied back behind his head in a ponytail. His eyes are a steel-blue, with flecks of green in them as well.

Armor/Clothing: Dressed in typical woodsman clothing, Órëthalion wears a plain green, short sleeved shirt, over which very light-weight elven-made chain mail is worn. A cream colored long sleeved shirt is worn over the mail, and on top of both he wears a faded brown leather vest, adorned with elven engravings. He wears plain brown leggings with brown lace up boots. For protection against the weather, he carries or wears a large, grey, waterproof, hooded cloak. As fitting with his role as an archer, he wears a long leather gauntlet on his left forearm, with leather gloves on both hands. His belt holds a small pouch on the small of his back, as well as holding his hunting knife. On his back he wears a normal-sized quiver, holding around 36 arrows. Beneath the quiver he has fashioned a rucksack to hold his supplies. Attached to the side of his quiver is a fitted leather scabbard, holding his sword within reach as well as his bow.

Weapons:

Sword: http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y380/Shifty69/Profile%20Pictures/MCI-2033-1.png

Knife: http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y380/Shifty69/Profile%20Pictures/Large_Knife.jpg

Bow: http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y380/Shifty69/Profile%20Pictures/Elven_Legacy_Bow_3-2.jpg

Trinkets: On his right wrist is a leather bracelet adorned with silver, a gift from his mother. And kept safe in his rucksack is a small, handcrafted knife, a gift from his father. Both he cherishes greatly, as his parents have long since left to cross the seas. Though his most prized possession is the silver necklace hanging from his neck; a gift from his childhood friend, who he has promised to return to.

Mount: none.

Personality: Though he did not have any other siblings his age, he still had a strong devotion to his family. As he grew older, he grew sadder, knowing that his parents must soon leave for the sake of his mother. His father had described him as “strong hearted”, caring greatly about those around him. Though he has his times where he says very little, he also enjoys talking with others, able to keep up a conversation for a long time. Though not boisterous, he can be a bit outgoing, but keeps a calm demeanor, the sparkle in his eyes being the only thing cluing in to his lively side. He is a very kind soul, and warm spirited. His devotion to his childhood friend, along with his promise to return to her, drives him forward greatly.

Biography: Born in the city of Rivendell, Órëthalion had a short lived time with his parents. Shortly after his birth, his mother came down with a strange sickness, making her very ill. After some debate, it was decided that for her fate, she must go with her husband across the seas. As much as it pained Órëthalion, he knew that it must be done to heal his mother. Once he reached the appropriate age, his parents were forced to leave, his mother’s illness growing worse. Once they left, he traveled down to Lothlórien to live there. It was there he met his childhood friend, growing very close to her. He was trained alongside of her, being taught by her brothers.

Many a time were spent together, though there came a day when they had to be separated. When Galadriel had received word that some of Sauron’s existing forces had taken hold of the edges of Mirkwood, she sent warriors to cleanse the forest. Órëthalion heeded this call, joining forces with the elves sent. Though it pained him greatly to leave his friend, he knew his help was needed, being one of the finer archers of his time. Before he left however, his friend gave him a gift, a silver necklace. In a promise in which he stated, “Not even death shall keep me from returning to you,” he went to Mirkwood, swearing that he would come back to her. Mirkwood has now been retaken, and Órëthalion has made his way back on foot, letting no disadvantage stop him from returning. Long has been his travels, loneliness taking over his heart. Only of what is awaiting him to keep his spirits up.

Alright, it could use some definite tweaking, but here it is! Grr, my brain doesnt seem to want to write anything good lately.

Faelon
07-03-2011, 05:13 PM
Name: Faelon of Ithilien
Race: Dúnedain
Birthplace: Osgiliath
Age: 48 (Appears to be 24)
Appearance: Faelon stands at 6'2" and weighs approximately 195 pounds. He has long brown hair that is often messy. His eyes are a light shade of green. He wears his own version of the traditional gear of an Ithilien Ranger.

http://www.alleycatscratch.com/lotr/Human/Gondor/Ranger/Ranger2Parade_Syt.jpg

Faelon's armor is custom made, as he is highly respected by Prince Elboron, and a few colors are different. His tunic and boots are Charcoal Grey, and his gorget (the triangular piece that comes over) is Forest Green as well as his cloak and trousers. His vambrace (wrist armor) is dark red, and etched into them is the White Tree of Gondor. He carries a larger quiver than the other Rangers, as his bow is his weapon of choice. It holds 35 arrows, one of which is black. On the quiver, there are two intersecting golden loops. His bow, Moripilin, is an all black recurved bow, and, along with the black arrow, was passed down by his father, and his father before that. His sword, Luinaur, is a standard issue Gondorian Long Sword. It has a brown leather handle, fitting about a hand and a half, the end piece is a gold as well as the hilt itself. The scabbard is green, with and has two golden intersecting loops at the top, much like his quiver. He also carries with him, concealed behind his cloak, a dagger.

Trinkets: Faelon's only trinket is a White Leaf of Gondor brooch. This was also given to him by Elboron when he received his armor

Biography: Faelon has long served Elboron, son of Faramir, Prince of Ithilien and has become one of his most trusted men. While in the forests of Ithilien, Barahir, son of Elboron, had been captured by Men from Harad traveling north. Faelon had been tracking the men since they came through the hills Emyn Arnen and finally had caught up to them. He slew the men with relative ease and returned Barahir. Grateful for this, Elboron gifted Faelon his armor.

Faelon's skill with a Bow is unmatched by any of the race of men. It is a common belief across Ithilien and that had he been born an Elf, he would possess the finest shot in Middle-Earth. It is rumored that he is distantly related to Bard, the man who killed Smaug at Esgaroth, and that he is now in possession of the black arrow that slew the mighty dragon. Faelon can neither confirm, nor deny this, as he is unsure how his father came into possession of it, as he died while he was still too young to know the ancient history of Middle Earth. His skill with a sword should also not be overlooked. His sword was also passed to him from his father, but does not yet have a fabled history.

(To make this consistent with the the IC thread.. Faelon is already in the North.)

Zak, I'm still not sure if everyone has grasped the fact that your last post ended three days' time from where we're all at, so hopefully my post will drive that home.

Yeah, I think I kinda royally screwed the pooch by advancing time like that XD

I have an idea, I'll use that first post to explain where I am, but have my next post be when I actually arrive in Minas Tirith? Perhaps that would clarify things. Though next time, we all (especially me XD) need to communicate more so our posts make sense in correlation to one another's

Anarion
07-03-2011, 11:39 PM
Character Name: Anarion son of Valandil II
Race: Men/Dunedain
Birthplace:
Age: 51 (Due to his Numenorean heritage, at 51 he appears to be in his mid twenties)

Physical Attributes: Anarion stands at about 6’4” and weighs approximately 190 pounds. He has shoulder length dark brown hair that often falls loose about his head.

Appearance: http://suvudu.com/files/2011/02/Jon-Snow.jpg

Armor/Clothing: Anarion wears traditional ranger garb. An emphasis on warmth and speed over weight and protection. A fine, grey linen shirt work under a long sleeveless jerkin. Dark leather trousers and tall, soft, black boots. He also wears a roughspun, forest green cloak. Also wears a leather glove with the fingertips removed on his right hand. When in particularly cold or wet areas, also wears a long duster of heavier leather. Anarion wears vambraces that bear the 5 pointed star that is the symbol of the old kingdom of Arnor, given to him by his father.

Weapons: Anarion’s weapon of choice is a dwarven-forged longsword. It once belonged to Halbarad, leader of the Grey Company during the War of the Ring. When Halbarad was struck down on the fields, he gave the sword to Valandil so that it would continue to serve the king even when he could not. He died before telling Valandil the name of the sword. When giving it to Anarion, Valandil told his son that when the time was right he would know what to call the blade. Anarion also carries an elvish dagger as well as two standard knives. He also carries a simple black bow and quiver for hunting.

Trinkets: Essentially the only trinket that Anarion carries is a pendant he wears around his neck. It is a small crystal in the shape of the five pointed star of Earendil, the symbol of Arnor. It was given to an ancient ancestor of his in the glory days of the realms of men by the king of Arnor who deemed Anarion’s ancestor to be a “defender of the kingdom” after some great deed, the details of which have since been lost to history. It seems to glow with light even in the darkest of places when its wearer needs.

Personality: Anarion is one who, like most rangers, generally keeps to himself. He is generally soft spoken unless times call for different. He is the type who prefers to observe a situation and people carefully before throwing his voice into the mix. Anarion would best be described as headstrong, trusting his instincts and skills more than is sometimes reasonable.

Family Legacy: Anarion is a descendant of Numenor, one of the Dunedain of Middle-Earth. His father, Valandil II, was one of the thirty one rangers who answered the call of Halbarad to aid Aragorn during the War of the Ring and later served King Elessar for many years in Minas Tirith. Anarion’s bloodline is noble even among the Dunedain. His great ancestor Eruadan was given the title of “Defender of the Realm of Arnor” for some great deeds. This title, along with the jewel that goes with it, has been passed down directly to Anarion. His mother, Eirien, was healer in the Houses of Healing in the city.

Biography: Anarion’s father was one of the few of that legendary Grey Company to survive the final days of the War of the Ring. After the war, Valandil served at the command of Aragorn in Minas Tirith. Some time later, Valandil met Eirien and the two fell in love. Years later, Anarion was born. Sadly, Eirien died in childbirth and left Valandil without a wife and Anarion without a mother. Filled with heartbreak, Valandil, with the leave of the king, departed Minas Tirith. Valandil returned to the northern wilderness he had lived in for most of his life, both to escape the reminders of his late wife and to train his son in the ways of survival, combat, and his heritage in the same way he had been taught by his father so many years before.
Anarion, under the tutelage of his father, became a ranger of the type that had become rare in the days since the War of the Ring. A true Ranger of the North. He had a natural knack for swordfighting and took to it faster than anyone his father had ever seen. His skills with a bow were not as strong, and while he is a fair shot when it comes to hunting and passable with the weapon in combat, he prefers his blade in nearly any situation. Along with these skills he was taught the tradition and meaning of his heritage as a Dunedain.
Anarion and his father never remained in one place for long. Like the rangers before the war of the Ring, they roamed the wild, living off the land and combating any evil that the two came across. As his father grew older and less able to travel and long lengths at a time, Anarion began to go out on his own for months at a time. Over the years he began to develop a reputation among the people of the North as a force for good, a ranger of the old order, fiercely noble and even more fierce with a blade. Anarion would always return to what had become his father’s permanent camp.
As the new shadow grew in the North, the two realized it as a legitimate threat to the Kingdom that Aragorn had rebuilt. Anarion wished to link up with Prince Eldarion, who was fighting in the North. However, his father advised him that it would perhaps be wiser to try to learn the source of the new evil. Despite Anarion’s pleading for his father to remain behind, they began their journey. Trekking far into the North they eventually learned of the warlock’s desire to free Morgoth. As they fled South, they were ultimately surrounded. Realizing the direness of their situation, Valandil was faced with a difficult decision. Giving his son his sword, the sword of Halbarad, and charging him with the most sacred of his bloodlines duties: “Defend the Kingdom,” Valandil left Anarion and drew off many of their pursuers. Anarion, honoring his father’s last wish, fought his way through the enemy.
Anarion, now on his own, resolved to find Prince Eldarion and aid the King against this evil, just as his father had done long ago.

(Hope that's good enough. Looking forward to this!)

Alright, since my post was obviously confusing and not fitting, I edited it Storm. That should fix everything. My plan is to have my next post be when I actually arrive in Minas Tirith, using the first just to describe where I am and what my circumstances are.

Yeah, I know XD I mean, I dont really even need him to like "Bring me in" I just need to be given a scenario or something as to which I can enter my character properly.

Cause if I just say I show up, people probably will not take heed of the time lapse that would have occurred, plus it would disrupt anything that was already going on. I basically just need Storm's go ahead and a way provided that I can enter properly.

If that makes any sense XD

Argos works odd jobs to keep up his skills as an expert Bowman and keep food in his belly. He drinks heavily but often can't afford to be a drunk. Argos is no newcomer to pain but doesn't have sympathy for those who can't fight past it. Argos often reacts harshly with those who try to delve into his past.
Family Legacy: Argos comes from a family that values female heirs over male heirs. Actually Men from Argos' Village are valued so little they essentially take on the positions of common human women in the rest of the world. But legacies still have sway with the community even if you are a man. Having a high ranking mother or grandmother can make life much easier. Argos' legacy extends into a line of priestesses. However given the status of men in his village and its location its not something he uses to his advantage often.
Biography: Argos was born to the priestess of the village. Unfortunately, before she could assess the baby's gender she passed on her title to him effectively making Argos the first male heir to a line of priestesses in a cult dominated by women. As such growing up was tough. Being taught the secrets of the cult that were only meant for the ears of women granted him a certain amount of respect but rsulted in a growing resentment in the community. Eventually the community of his village banished him forcing him to follow a path down and out of the Ered Gorgoroth.

I need to find time to read all of the posts and play catch up before I'll be able to toss out a productive post.

Thanks for hijacking my rp you two, seriously. I am so proud. You two aren't allowed to post more than once a round, as is custom. Don't do it again.

Oops! Sorry! (I've also been in maybe one rp that actually did the rounds, and it died, so I'm not really used to them.)

By the by, I was just looking on the front page, and did you realize that you've never updated the fellowship spoiler?

I haven't had time. Still, you should have waited before doing your own one-on-one. It makes catch up bothersome to the rest of us and we are left in the dust. Next time, do a co-op or contact me to get permission to post multiple times in a sequence.

I'm not chipping at you, Luck. You are in the clear.

I'm trying to think of something to say that doesn't sound obnoxious and repetitive... Would you like us to delete those posts and save them for later?

What is done is done. You guys put in work and I won't have you guys delete them. Just be more conscientious in the future

Hello!

I just wanted to tell you guys that I'm highly impressed by your skills. Being a LOTR fan myself, the title caught my eye, and I read through all of the IC thread... Very good. Exceptional!

I wish I would have been around to join from the start, but alas- I shall be following your adventures!

Hi Elizabeth! Glad to see you back at the forums. I'm not certain, but I'm thinking Storm might still be accepting chars so if you wanna join, just let Storm know.

Do it, you know you wanna!! We just got started, it won't take a lot to get caught up and as it goes, I know it is going to get even better!!

I'm sorry, I've been meaning to post, but my step-grandpa died early last week, and my niece is in the hospital for testing, so I've been pretty distracted (somewhat on purpose). I'll try to get a post up this week if possible.

Well, I'm disgustingly new to the website, but this thread caught my idea for story reasons. I've read most of the written IC stuff so far, but not ALL of it so far.
I'd be interested in making a character, but the idea in mind might not be what Storm has in mind. I'm now conflicted in if I should post it.. or not post it. lol.

Damn myself for being indecisive!

Has experience RPing from way back in the day (feels old x.x) from when Yahoo had private rooms you could name yourself. Also on MSN. I worry though when applying to something like this, because I know I'm fully capable of writing large posts, but I wasn't THAT close to attention in LotR. I know of things in general from the films and followed that closely, and I'm aware they cut out Tom Bombadil (sp? and damn them for that, btw!!) but I'm intimidated none the less. Ehh.. heh.

Well, I am watching the Lord of the Rings Extended edition as I am typing this, and I have never more wanted this RP to get going than now.

What needs to be done to get this thing moving again? I'll do it, whatever it is!! XD

It is sad if such a (possibly) epic RP dies before the mission even starts. Its a darned shame

Okay gang, I'm going to have to drop this one. I've got several fast moving rp's I'm involved in and I have decided it better to split up my rpa time between staff and more active games. If it continues I'll be reading along though XD
