Name: The Unqirate of Iral
Capital: Niera Ton, Orioso System
Size of Empire: 8,000 Light Years

The Adiri are a humanoid race, and are tall, averaging 8 feet, with thin, slender limbs. They have four fingers on each hand, and are digitigrades (walk on their toes). Male Adiri have pale blue skin with darker stripes or spots on their back, arms and legs. They have oval faces, with large, round, pure dark blue or green eyes. Females are slightly shorter than males, and have darker skin with no markings. Adiri have no noses, only thin slits for nostrils, and narrow mouths that lack lips, which house many small, very sharp teeth.

The Adiri are known for their perfectionist mentality, and do everything slowly, meticulously, and accurately. Adiri rarely jump to conclusions or make hasty judgments (The words “hasty” and “fast” are almost curses in the Adiri language). Despite this, their speech and thought processes are very rapid, allowing them to accomplish tasks and communicate very quickly. The Adiri mainly serve as Priests and leaders in the Unqirate, preaching the glory of Iral to all. They are also the scholars and artisans, studying the ancients and doing everything they can to learn and expand the greatness of the Unqirate and for Iral.

Large, wide, powerful beings, the Vraask are ugly, brutish looking beings. They have rough, scaly skin, usually colored brown, grey, red or yellow. They have large, reptilian eyes that are usually blue or green, though sometimes dark red. They are digitigrades, and have 8 clawed fingers and 10 toes total. There are no major distinguishing marks between males and females, although males have a much more hunched posture and small bony knobs above their eyes. Vraask have very pointed heads, with the jaw, instead of being two pieces, the “bottom” jaw is split in half. The mouth has large, curved teeth made for tearing and ripping.

The Vraask are the warriors and Zealots of the Unqirate. They are nearly the opposites of the Adiri in personality and mentality. The Vraask are quick thinkers, and rely on gut instinct to keep them alive. Although most Vraask are warriors or Zealots, some have come to become trained as scholars and Priests.

The Unqirate of Iral began on the planet of Niera Ton, the home world of the Adiri. Niera Ton is a watery world, with only 15% of its surface area covered by landmasses. The Adiri were not always as they are now. The slow, meticulous and proud race now began as a splintered, pugilistic race, similar to humans. They only came to be as they are now after the discovery of the planet Volo, a planet several light years away in the Karon System. Volo is a harsh planet, the polar opposite of Niera Ton, and the home world of the Vaarsk. The Vraask, at the point of contact with the Adiri, were very similar to the other race, but with one difference; The Vraask had nearly destroyed their home world due to warfare. Massive strip mines gouged into the surface in the search for more materials. The scarce forests were nearly gone, and ruins of cities were ugly scabs on the landscape, and the planet was quickly declining into an incredibly hot planet with a runaway greenhouse-effect.

The Vraask were on the verge of extinction until the Adiri came, and were technologically equivalent to humanity in the 1980s. Many Vraask were amazed by the coming of the Adiri, and believed it was the act of their deity, Iral, that sent the Adiri was their saviors.

The Adiri saw what might come if they stayed their current course, and changed their ways, both philosophically and physically. They followed along with the Vaarsk belief of them being saviors, and the Unqirate was born.

Traditionally, the Unqirate of Iral is the formal name for the religion of the Vaarsk, later adopted by the Adiri. The leader of the Unqirate, the Unqir (pronounced “oon-keer”) is a religious leader said to have oracular vision and is able to communicate directly with Iral.

Below the Unqir are the Priests, holy leaders that preach in cities and on colonies for the Unqir. Then, below the Priests, are the Missionaries, who are sent to expand the influence of the Unqirate philosophically, religiously, and politically.

Most of the technology is Adiri-made. As such, it is very well crafted and rarely malfunctions or breaks. Most of their technology is similar or identical to that used by other civilizations, such as weaponry and shielding, but there are some uniqe techs. The most notable is the Snap Drive, a form of transportation that was discovered by accident, and massive cloaking fields able to make even the largest ship seem to disappear.
The Instantaneous External Transportation Drive, or “Snap Drive” is an interesting form of travel. Discovered by accident just a few years before the discovery of the Vraask, it was put into service aboard ships before being fully tweaked and perfected. Also, nobody really knows how it exactly works. It was discovered by accident when Adiri physicists were experimenting with combining the computing power of quantum computers with the multi-tasking ability of an advanced AI.
They tasked the AI with collecting and holding the data of an object, a simple, one square foot steel cube, and transporting the data of every atom to another computer. Instead of just transporting the data, the entire cube disappeared. When it failed to reappear, they checked the other computer, only to find it wouldn’t work. When they took it apart, they made in amazing discovery; lodged in the machinery of the other computer was the cube. Thus, they proceeded to test with more complex objects at different ranges. They soon discovered that another computer was not required. Of course, there are faults. The more complex the object or the greater the distance being traversed, the more likely the object will be misplaced, or half will arrive in the correct location, while the other half is a couple yards away. Also, the computing power required for even a small ship and crew is massive, and costly to produce. Currently, the Unqirate has outlawed the use of Snap Drives until they have fine-tuned them so that these problems are solved.
Adiri cloaking devices are wonders of technology. Unqirate special forces utilize combat suits capable of cloaking them for up to twelve hours at a time, as well as specialized armored vehicles. However, these pale in comparison to the latest creations, massive cloaking fields able to hide the largest ships from both visual and radar sensors. These large-mass cloaking devices are still only prototypes, but several have been installed on ships for testing.

The Adiri are arguably some of the best genetic engineers in the galaxy. They engineered themselves to be able to breathe out of water, and they changed the genetic makepu of their genes to make themselves less inclined to fight and more inclined to think. In fact, genetic engineering is incredibly common among the Adiri, and is increasing in popularity among the Vraask.

Most commonly, genetic engineering is used to make more powerful and intelligent soldiers, and to increase Adiri reaction time for special forces.

IF you were to ask anyone on the street, or a Priest of Iral, or even the Unqir his/herself what the goal of the Unqirate is, they will all answer the same; To Spread the His glory and bring peace and prosperity wherever they go. This is true, to a point. The Unqirate does pride itself in that they aid the poor or ill, no matter the risk or if those they are helping are enemy or friend. However, the Adiri adopted the religion of Iral for one reason; influence. They saw that the Vraask were naturally good fighters, and fiercely, even fanatically loyal to their religion. Thus, the Adiri portrayed themselves as saviors sent by Iral, gaining the trust and loyalty of the Vraask, no questions asked.

Although none of them will admit it, very few Adiri actually follow the religion of Iral, even amongst the Priests and Missionaries. They simply use the religion to expand their influence, first peacefully through conversion, and if that fails, by sending in Vraask Zealots to conquer enemies of Iral.

The home world of the Adiri, Niera Ton is 85% water, and rather cold. The Adiri are amphibious, mostly through genetic engineering, but their predecessors were able to survive out of water for at least a few days at a time. Niera Ton has two small moons, Kosvic and Maasvic.

Most Adiri cities lie below the oceans, with a few built on the limited land area. Above waves and the submerged cities are shuttle ports, heavily shielded from storms that rage regularly across the planet. In orbit lie the massive shipyards the produce the large warships used by the Unqirate’s military. Niera Ton is also the religious capital of the Unqirate, as well as the Governmental capital.

The home of the Vraask has little water, the only sources being four large inland seas near the poles. Most of the planet is scrubland and desert, and very hilly and mountainous. Most life is adapted to the heat, and in fact all life from Volo cannot survive in high humidity climates, including the Vraask. Thus, Vraask cannot live for prolonged periods on watery planets like Niera Ton.

Due to decades of war, the planet has slowly been dying. Nearly all of what little forested areas the planet had have been cut down or burned, and massive industrial areas have polluted the soil and water. The planet is also begging to start a runaway greenhouse effect. Massive sandstorms rage across the flatlands, and massive landfills slowly seep pollutants into the soil and carbon emissions into the atmosphere.

Currently, less the two billion Vraask remain on Volo, and are currently awaiting transport to other planets or space habitats.

Regal is a planet very similar to Volo, but with a slightly cooler climate, and slightly more humid. It was discovered shortly after the establishment of the Unqirate, and was quickly established as a resettlement area for the Vraask, as Volo was nearly uninhabitable. Most of the Vraask population now resides on Regal. Regal is also the main military training facility for Vraask Zealots, as it has a very diverse range of climates and conditions, from arctic conditions at the poles to jungle and tropical climates near the equator and along the coasts of its oceans.

The AFDA is an interesting entity. It technically doesn't exists, though it has a hand in everything the Unqirate does. AFDA agents vary from field operatives, spec ops forces, and spies to physicists, engineers and doctors, all of whom are the best in their respective field.

Nearly the entire AFDA team are Adiri, with a few Vraask field operatives and spec ops soldiers. The Adiri operatives are in many ways more dangerous than their Vraask counterparts. Thanks to genetic engineering, they have greatly enhanced reaction times, enhanced vision and hearing, and exemplary weapons skills, both ranged and hand-to-hand. The Agency is the Unqir's main tool in affairs where the Unqirate has interest, but can't "officially" intervene.

(UNFINISHED!! I'll most likely add more, just wanted to get at least this up to have a sort of benchmark. Also, if you have any questions, just ask.)
