This is the story of the world of Ashahiem, a world of strife and struggle. In this world, all of the races, empires, kingdoms, and houses push for greater influence and control over their world. Swords, Sorcery, and Savagery is what lies at the heart Ashahiem - everyone needs to kill to live in this harsh world. Such a place has made hard inhabitants, some more than others, but every party has their own strength and achilles heel. From Wildmen to elves and dragons, Ashahiem is a diverse land, each race pursuing their own goals and desires and to hell with others. Savage seas surround the landmasses of Ashahiem, making sailing a dangerous profession that requires the utmost skill and mastery. To conquer the sea would give any military power a great advantage against ones enemies. The seas are no enough, however. The harsh weather of Ashahiem is in constant metamorphoses; seasons can last as short as a few months from as long as several years. From time to time, the world will seem to break, the earth relasing its blood of molten rock on to the surface - sulphurous fumes cause seas to boil and the topography of the world is changed forever. Such a cataclysmic had last occured ten thousand years before the current date of the role play.
This world is based heavily on norse and gaelic mythology, so keeping the names appropriate to the theme would be most appropriate and appreciated. As a note for starters, the race of Man is splintered in to several kingdoms and empires around Ashahiem. Some remain allies, and have been for centuries, while others hold blood feuds since time immemorial.
I am leaving a great deal of the creation of the world to you, the players and participants. Thus far, I have only given you a name of the world and the theme in which the world works. Other than that, I leave landmasses, realms, water, and the geography to you. Once there is enough interest and enough diversity in factions and races, I will make a map using campaign cartographer.
