Welcome to Sunnydale, California. Population 38,523, most of the time. Lately there has been a surplus of bodies in the community morgue, but that’s not the strange part. What’s really weird is that they keep disappearing and showing up for a drink at the Bronze. A local teen hang out downtown.

There is a new big bad in town. Not the crazy zoo keeper, not the school lunch lady, not someone affiliated with the Mayor’s office. So that pretty much means it must be a vampire. Or maybe it’s a lot of vampires. Same deal, different day at the Hellmouth. Right?

Wrong. The newest bad to hit Sunnydale’s streets, cemetery’s and high school basement is Zane Samuel Creighton. Rumor has it he’s been around longer than the Hellmouth itself. In fact, word on the street is that he was the cause of the earthquake that foiled the plans of the Master himself and trapped him beneath the surface of sleepy suburbia.

Will you be on the side of the good guys? Help Buffy and her friends?
Or will you venture to the dark side and be affiliated with Zane and his crew?

I have a few rules we want to establish here and now before we go any further. Please take the time to read them, I took the time to write them and am more than willing to discuss them if anyone has concerns, comments or questions about them.

1. Please be respectful of everyone in this roleplay, that whole do unto others thing applies here.

2. No playing God. I don’t like invincible characters. Very few people do. If you need to die, it will happen.

3. Please spell check, can’t stress this one enough. You only hurt yourself if you don’t proofread. Some stuff slips by regardless of through investigation at times but at the risk of sounding like a grade school teachers we recommend you proofread. No one likes to look ignorant and be deemed unintelligent. Bad grammar and poor spelling is the easiest and the fastest way to do that to yourself.

4. Don’t turn this roleplay into porn. We are not opposed to violence or mature content and cursing is all fine and well but if they couldn’t have broadcasted it on network television, you’re not being true to this RP and your Character. Keep it TV-14 DLSV (Parents Strongly Cautioned -- This program contains some material that many parents would find unsuitable for children under 14 years of age.)

5. Please post and when you do, post something worth reading. There is nothing more disappointing then being excited to read a new post and getting only a few sentences. I won’t specify a minimum because I don’t want any of the nonsense that comes with forcing yourself to meet a quota, but please try for a paragraph at the very least. Let’s all try to stay dedicated, though the real world does always come first. I understand that completely, but you will be among the first to know if I can’t post when expected to. I ask that same courtesy of you. With or without you, this game will keep moving. Buffy’s died twice, do you think your character is immune?

6. My word is the law within this game. Simple as that. I am most definitely open to suggestions and love feedback and ideas. This game is a joint venture but I have the final say should an issue of some kind arise. I reserve the right to ask anyone to alter a character, or leave the game entirely, if necessary.

You can choose from any of your favorite Buffy the Vampire Slayer characters, but we do reserve the right to reject certain characters if we feel they won’t fit with this new twist we’ve designed for Buffy. This roleplay takes pace during the Scooby Gang’s high school years, keep that in mind when choosing your character. Sorry Riley fans. We’re also looking for, vampires in Zane’s posse. These can be original characters or Vampires from the show. Even if your chosen character is well known figure from the show, you need to create a profile.

Character Name: Gilbert Grant
Character Age: 35
Character Race: Human

Character Role: Gilbert is history professor at Sunnydale High School. He's a new professor recently transfered from Oklahoma to teach in Sunnydale. The true reason he actually made that transfer is because he heard many rumors from Oklahoma about vampires and other creatures being seen in Sunnydale. So since he also has a love for mythology he made the transfer to see are the rumors true, and to made his own private research about them.

Character’s Basic Information/Background: Gilbert Grant was a professor of history at Oklahoma state University, teaching students about the world's past instead of just America's past. Gilbert also has a love for all things mythical, like vampires. He made a recent transfer from Oklahoma University to Sunnydale High School, for his own personal reasons. And he is teaching history there at the moment.

Character’s Personality: Gilbert is a reasonable and careful character, often quoting famous people of the history as some sort of advice or a warning. But not often is he careful. Sometimes his carefulness will turn into carelessness if something good turns up for him, like if a vampire would appear he'd take no time to go and start observing him from afar. Much like how a TV biologist would observe wild animals.

Character Name: Taria Tusen
Character Age: 179, born February 6th 1830
Character Race: Vampire
Character Role: Taria is a loyal servant of the man in charge, that currently being Zane Samuel Creighton. Being a promiscuous servant, Taria is only reliable for as long as her leader show authority. Considering her own talents too good to go to waste, Taria will shift allegiance if her authority show weakness. Taria is our thypical loyal servant, but only for as long as she believe the one she serve is top dog. She is not good, nor evil, merely loyal to authority.

Character’s Basic Information/Background: Born 1830 and alive to date imply significant talent, having survived more than one slayer throughout the years and even helped some if they have held the ability to comprehense her way of functioning, which is basically that Taria has a near sexual attraction to strength and lack respect for any sign of weaknesses.

In her young years, Taria worked as a prostitute but after her siring abandoned her life and became a dedicated vampire. As she grew in age and experience, Taria advanced in talents, becoming more and more potent physically and mentally. In later years, however, Taria was supposedly slain during a battle between great powers but on the brink of death through mystical means maintained her link to the mortal world. Caught between states, Taria ended up not being vampire nor ghost, but something between the two.

Lacking the most significant feature of a ghost, ectoplasm, Taria is not invisible to the eyes of man. Having lived as a ghost for almost half her lifetime, Taria has grown mentally superior many of her own kind. This is because she has realized her ability to turn physical via the sole requirement of focusing. Having had decades of practise, Taria can remain physical for a longer period of time but at great mental strain towards the end of the process. For that reason, when not participating in battle Taria is next to always intangible.

Character’s Personality: Taria's primary defining trait is her promiscuous nature. She is submissive for as long as her leader is authoritative, assertive, strong. But should any one of the three traits waver then Taria would shift from submissive to determined assertive in search for someone stronger, someone worthy of her talents.
Taria attain a near sexual attraction to superiority, to people whos personality reek strength and power. She is willing to go the distance for a strong leader, willing to fight and die in his or her name. When not adressed or in a conversation, Taria is the quiet soldier who observe a situation and learns from it. She never waste time on staring into the wall. When she is not serving, she is learning, observing. To her, waste of time is a waste of time.

I would say that your best bet SpikeyZ is to go with Oz first because more likely than not we will have room for an original character either when we start or as we go along. It's also more likely that someone else would come along and want to play Oz. That's just my two cents though.

Character Role: D.J can help the group with many problems that a "Watcher" can't help with. She can help with curses, spells. Basically anything magical, she can help with. D.J is a student as Sunnydale, but is the weirdest student Sunnydale has seen, so she spends alot of time in the library reading, and doing homework. D.J just wants to be accepted as a person and not the brain of the Sunnydale student body. D.J is drove by the understanding of her powers and how to control them better. D.J cares about her friends (if she ever really had any) and her family well what she considereds her family.

DJ learnt that she was a witch from her grandmother. Her grandmother taught her a few simple spells and was teaching her how to control and recieve her power to the fullest until she died. DJ has felt that she was alone, learning spells and teaching herself about witchy ever since her grandmother died.
Character’s Personality: DJ is quite funny and loves to have fun, when she is happy and has people actually listening to her. She can be very sarcastic and witty when she wants to be.

Character Name: Faith Lehane, 'the rogue slayer'

Character Age: 26

Character Race: Super human, slayer.

Character Role: After reforming from the dark side, Faith is helping Buffy and the scoobies, doing what she does best, well second best, to protect sunnydayle. Having trust issues, she will most likely be suspicious and try to make her territory at any newcomers. Faith still feels regret for what she has done in the past and feels to make it right she must help Buffy. Its not secret that Faith cared and still cares about Buffy, tho she keeps her feelings secretive.

Character’s Basic Information/Background: Faith was born and raised in the rough neighborhoods of Boston, beaten and abused by both of her alcoholic parents. She grew up to be a very aggressive young woman.

She was called at 15, trained by her watcher to fight evil and kill vampires. When her watcher was tortured and killed before her own eyes by Kakistos she fled to California, Sunnydale. She met Buffy, the chosen one. Faith was desperately trying to fit in their gang, seeking the love she desperately wanted despite herself. She did the good girl routine for a while, helping the gang to protect the inhabitants of Sunnydale. She accidentally murdered the deputy mayor and was tempted by the dark side, joining the big bad in his plot to kill the slayer.

She fought Buffy, who put her in a coma for 8 months. Faith came back for revenge as she woke up; switching her and Buffy's body with a device The Mayor had left her. When her plan failed, she once again chose to run and fled to Los Angeles. Overcome by guilt she wanted to end her life, asking Angel to do it. However, Angel decided to help her redeem herself. She then turned herself in to the police and stayed in Jail for three years. She escaped to help Angel when Angelus returned, she saved him from himself with the help the of Wolfram and Hart.

Character’s Personality: Faith's as cocky as cocky gets. Sarcasm is her first language, that and throwing innuendos at every opportunity she gets. She's naturally flirty and charismatic. She's a tough chick with a discretely hidden soft side. Many insecurities from her past left her unable to open up with anyone.

Character’s Basic Information/Background: While in High School he was a year above the whole group, with high intellect he would have passed with flying colors however he was held back due to missed days and failure to go to summer school. He did graduate with Buffy and her gang and was with them for a few years. He then found out he was a werewolf, the discovery made him fear his abilities. After killing a fellow werewolf to save Willow he decided to leave and attempt to control his power.

After going to Tibet and finding his own Werewolf clan Oz has gained complete control over his lycan form. He can transform into it by will whenever there is a full moon. Anytime else during the night he can control some of the abilities from it, including enhanced speed and strength. However he can completely transform into a wolf without control if he is in extremely emotional in any form. He could be super depressed and lose control, he can be super angry and lose control, or even super happy.
Character’s Personality: Cool, calm, and collected.

Hi there, not interested in playing Buffy I'm afraid-too much of a good girl in High School for me-but I was wondering if it would be possible to play an OC who isn't a Vampire or High School Student? I have something else in mind, a Mercenary Hired by the Vamps to guard them during the day due to the Slayers presence in town following The Masters death.

Oh, one other thing: sorry to be a pain, I want Faith in this to, but Faith didn't come back to Buffy until she woke from her Coma in Season 4, then she ran off to LA after that body-switching thing backfired on her, right? Ended up in jail after Angel managed to get through to her until Buffy Season 7? I ask because I presume this is a "What If?" RP in that case?

Buffy used to be a shallow valley girl before she came into her powers, and her identity as the slayer caused her to identify herself differently, no longer the popular it-girl. Buffy is courageous, but a bit rash. She loves her friends and is loyal to them. She can be a bit antagonistic when she feels that she's being forced into something she doesn't want to do (like with the Watchers' Council subjecting her to a slayer test on her 18th birthday for example), and she can sometimes be a bit acerbic with her sarcasm.

Her encounters include The Master, Angel's soulless alter-ego Angelus (along with Spike and Drusilla), The Mayor as he tried to ascend to demon form, a monster named Adam that was inadvertently created by a military cell called The Initiative, a Hell God named Glorificus, a group of bungling wanna-be supervillains called The Trio, Willow's dark manifestation awakened after the death of her lover Tara, and finally the First Evil. Buffy is courageous and self-sacrificing, but has an intense dark side that she feared but has recently embraced as a natural part of who she is and her power. She has a great capacity to love and is loyal to a fault. She is protective of those she loves. Buffy is unique as a slayer because she refuses to give up her friends to be alone like all the slayers before her; she functions as a part of a team with those who know her identity as a slayer. Also unlike other slayers before her, Buffy believes that her emotions give her power, where her predecessors believed they were a liability.
