Most things happen for a reason right? And every situation will always have its own Karma, depending which way you decide to take it right? Well that is what the people around this town like to say. This town is unlike any other, sounds like a good thing right? Wrong. This town is known world wide for its mysterious disappearances and for the haunting blood curdling screams that echo during the night. This town...is Vascurmen.

There are no outsiders that come to this town, everyone keeps away. Locals say it keeps the screams to a minimum when people just ignore their curiosity. During the nights, the streets are clear. No doors remain unlocked and no businesses remain open. Its the law, and if laws are broken...there are consequences. There are no wars in Vascurmen. There are no failures or bums in Vascurmen. Or at least that is what the government pushes into the minds of the inhabitants. But what they don’t know, is that there are people like that here. But they are underground, in a correctional facility. But a few years ago they stopped correcting people and started to destroy them. It took money to re-educate people, but it was free to kill them.

When you were caught, you were bound and gagged to create less trouble. Then a black bag was wrapped around your head so if you ever did escape, you didn’t know how to get back. Of course, the escape rate from this place was slim. If you got out, you were usually hunted down long before you even got above ground. Those very few who did make it out alive strayed away from the town and made their lives away from the town, keeping to themselves.

Inside the facility there were different levels for different types of people. You had the regular jail baits at the middle level, the rule breakers and rebels in the highest, and the 'mistakes' were thrown into the lower rooms. The mistakes were those who weren’t humans. Either being half or full demon. Some elves and fairies were kept in chains while Vampires and Lichens were kept separate from everyone. There is a rumor that the caretaker is a mad woman who hates the world with her ice cold soul. More rumors say she isn’t a woman at all, at least not anymore. But what the inmates didn’t know was that the caretaker wasn’t a caretaker at all, She was more of a prisoner…

-------------------------

As the inmates are given their gruel type dinner the guards take them group by group to the steam baths. As they walk slowly through they are blasted from every angle with boiling hot water. Continuing they decide whether the inmate needs a hair cut or a nail trim. Shaving their heads to the bare minimum and cutting their nails to the nub of their fingers they keep their precautions. This process takes about an hour or more for each ground and then they are returned to their designated areas.

After all of the inmates are taken care of and put away again the guards take their positions and stand their guard as the list starts to be printed out. The LIST decides who goes and who stays. It is all dependent on their behavior, their health and their mind set. They take care of those who have been broken already. And leave the rebels to be broken. This is all done by an elite team of representatives who look through profiles and select those who are to be exterminated.

The caretaker, the woman who is blamed for all of this isn’t the person who everyone thinks she is. The woman in which everyone thinks about is actually the real caretaker’s daughter. A silent girl who has been raised in this place since three years old. She herself was an abomination to the family, seeing as she wasn’t fully human. Her pale skin. Crimson eyes and unusual beauty should explain everything.

As the list was being processed and was about half way done there was a knock on the door. A guard walked in and bowed slightly to the man in his 60’s. “Sir, We have a new prisoner…and I think he may interest you.” He said as he then opened the door.

The girl could hear the fighting of the male that they had just caught. Her red eyes looked to the door awaiting his approach.

(minus the tail and wings on his head)

The man was being escorted up the stairs by two guards. It was chaos all over as sickening cries escaped his through, but were blocked through the gag and black bag encasing his head. His hands were bound together in front of him attached to his waist to restrict his movements, but it didn't stop him from giving a fight. Where the hands steadied him, he thrashed about, pushing the guards into the walls, forcing them to stop so they didn't lose balance, or to catch him from losing his balance.

With every violent movement that caused them to slow down, the inmate was met in the ribs stomach or back with a violent blow from the guards. He was confused and lost. The last thing he remembered was walking the street when the authorities came up and began beating him and binding him. He'd seen it on the street before, he was at the prison, but where was he going. Surely they would have the bag off his head by now, surely he should be in his cell by now.

They finally reached the top of the stairs, and entered a room where his third escort was talking to a lady. The bound man grew silent, breathing hard from his failed efforts, and limited breath do the the gag, and the musky bag over his head. Once they stepped inside the room, they allowed him a split seconds rest, then forced him to his knees ripping off the bag revealing his face to the woman.

The warden. He was in the warden's office. What was so special about him that he was presented to the warden. Everything was calm in the room. The prisoner took this opportunity. He leaped up to his feet at an angle ramming his shoulder into one surprised guard, sprinted against the other into the wall, and began to turn towards the door, when the third guard, the one who was making the presentation, who was much bigger than the other to, grabbed him from behind and threw him to the ground, letting his foot kick and strike the bound prisoner in the stomach. He let out a gasp along with all of his air, struggling to breath through the gag.

Slowly trying to pick himself back up to his knees, the big guard grabbed him by the hair forcing him back up, the two beaten guards came over and each let a blow against his ribs. Giving up, he rested on his kneels hunched over forward, trying to keep his dignity, his eyes rose back up to the warden, his white hair covering most of his face.

As the prisoner was escorted into the room the real Warden who used his daughter as the blame face turned around in his chair, watching the entire ordeal as the man was brought into his office and fought back desperately against the guards, only to receive a beating. After he was finished the man laughed, clapping his hands. "Nice show, nice show." He chuckled.

The young girl looked at the white haired man, blinking a few times as she concluded his looks were like her own. Sitting up in her chair the girl pushed back some of her hair, watching him as if he had a story to tell.

"Now then. Are you done fussing?" The hefty man asked as he stood from behind his greatly large desk. "Now look you vermin... I have genuine photos of you conversing with some specific people who belong to the Rebellion that is trying to rise up in town." He said as he walked over to the man, grabbing his hair and making the demon look at him "If you talk and spit out those names and the places where we can find them, then maybe Ill let you off easy..."

The young woman's eyes widened. Whenever her father spoke of letting convicts off easy, he meant extreme bodily harm followed by death the next hour. Her eyes grew slightly watery and she shook her head, she hated it when her father falsely dealt with convicts knowing they would either squeal or stay silent.

"If you dont talk, then Ill just have you thrown into the pit to die a slow death. That more appetizing for you you filth?" The warden grabbed the gag and pulled it down, it now dangling on his neck.

With a slight gasp she put her hand over her mouth, her father turned around with a malicious expression. "You going to speak out of line little miss?!" He yelled at her as he rose his hand, in backhanding distance of her. She shook her head and bit her lips, waiting for him to turn his attention back to the convict before letting her breath go.

Sinking in her chair slightly she frowned, knowing the young man would come upon death either way he decided to go. It was just another lie in the bundle of lies her father had created.

The prisoners eyes met the man who addressed him. The way the figurehead always had a way about her, a remourseful, pained face behind the hard mask she wore, always suggested that she was just a puppet. He winced as his hair was jerked up to meet the mans eyes. When the gag was forced out, he wet his lips, and sucked a mouthful of air into his lungs, still panting from the exertion. Once the real warden made his petition, the only words that he dared to speak were in Latin, the language of the old days, much older than his youthful age. The words were this.

"Vescor incendia in abyssus vos sus!" Which translated to, "Feed on fire in hell you swine!" He then opened his mouth and spoke in english. "No matter what I say, I will die, so just make quick of it." The words were spoken with much venom, that it earned a backhand to his face.

The prisoners head turned away from the warden due to the blow, his lip split open. His tongue met the blood's metallic taste, and spat instintively on the ground. Slowly his head turned back up to the warden, meeting his eyes, angry slits, calculating the next move. But he tried to make his face tell the warden what he refused to speak himself. His words were not welcome to leave his lips, the prisoner would not speak unless it gave away no useful information. His eyes were momentarily caught by the figurhead, she was slightly sympathetic against her puppeteers actions. It was an act, everything in this room was an act to get him to talk. They were trying to manipulate him as they manipulated the girl to take the ridicule against the true villain.

The girl blinked as he spoke in Latin, an old language that she had been taught by her mother when she was still alive. As he snapped back at her father he received a backhand, and she knew he would. When his lip bled and he spit onto the ground she took a deep breath, wanting to look away, but she just couldnt.

"You think you are so smart in wishing for death?!" He spit out at the convict, getting in his face. "In this place, Death is a reward. Do you know how many vermin underneath us wish they could die? Do you know how many wont?" He chuckled as he stood upright, motioning for the guards to stand him up and follow him. The hefty man went to the window right behind his desk which when he pulled the shades up looked upon the area where the convicts were chained by their wrists to hanging ropes as they were beaten, whipped and broken down. He motioned for his daughter to join him by his side.

The young woman stood and grimaced. She knew what was on the other side of the window, being able to hear it even though the glass was sound proof. Joining her father's side she tried to look at the ground, keeping her eyes averted from the suffering that was taking place.

"You see that? Beautiful isnt it?" He chuckled as the convict was forced to look down upon the beatings. "All these people, wishing for death."

"Looks like we have a struggler sir." One of the guards laughed as a woman was pulled into the room, on her knees as she tried to pull away. "She will get double the lashings for being a pain." He chuckled again as he watched.

Looking up then she saw the woman and her eyes widened. She knew why the woman was struggling, and knew why she didnt want to be in the room. Placing her hands upon the glass she watched, her lips bitten so hard her skin began to whiten from the pressure. The woman was pregnant, far into her time. If she was beaten, the baby would be miscarried.

"Here we run things smoothly, if you are defiant. You are beaten. If you continue to be defiant you are beaten some more. And once we finally break you, if you decide to talk or not then Death will be your next stop." The burly man looked at the convict one more, A smile on his face "So you filth. Anything, convincing you yet? The clock is tic-" He was interrupted by his daughter speaking under her breath the word, 'stop'. He turned around to see her watching the woman who was struggling. Furious he grabbed her by the arms and pushed her away from the window, making her tumble back into his desk. "Today just isnt a great day for you now is it Pumpkin?!" He yelled as he backhanded her, her petite frame falling to the floor. When she looked up at him she was greeted by a kick in the face which sent her completely flat onto her back.

"She's going to die!" She shouted as her eyes welled up with tears. She gritted her teeth as she looked away, preparing for another blow.

The Warden turned around and looked at the woman they had strung up and began to beat. He watched for a few moments and then witnessed what his daughter meant, the woman bled out and was dead within a few more blows. "Thats two less hassles." He said heartlessly as he tossed his hand up, the Guards pulling the convict away from the window and back in front of his desk. He turned the the convict, his face red "I am finished trying to strike a deal here. Talk or you will be placed in the showers immediately for preparation of staying here, permanently."

The young girl moved herself back towards the wall, leaning against it. Her hair draped in her face as she tried to compose herself.

The prisoner complied with all the forceful movements. He didn't struggle, he didn't fight, he just listened to what the warden had to say. As he looked out the window, watched as all the men were being wipped, he made sure to commit their faces to memory. He'd weep for them at night. His attention was turned to the struggling woman when the guards laughed and the warden mused himself with it. It made the prisoner sick, yet he stayed still.

She died, died for no reason at all. An unborn baby, these men were monsters he couldn't sit idley by and watch, yet he did, for reasons unknown to him, he did. He turned his head to express is annoyance, to curse the devil who ran the place, but was stopped unexpectedly by the girl. She spoke, spoke to stand up to the warden, to try and reason, but was met with abuse of her own. As the girl composed himself, the prisoner began stepping toward the door but turned, letting a twinkle in his eye shine at the girl and looked at the warden again.

"As I said before, Vescor incendia in abyssus vos sus."

The guards took hold of him and shoved him out at the wardens angry flick of his wrist. They shoved him down the stairs, walking behind him. The prisoner held an arrogant half smile, hair hiding his face as he walked down the stairs. They led him through corridors, past weeping women, broken men, and youths with enough fight still left in them to charge the doors to their cells.

They made it to the showers. The steam radiated heat from where he stood, it made him sweat and as he got closer, he felt his skin become glossy with the salty liquid on his skin. He pulled him into a room and cut his binds freeing his hands, and moved in to strip him for his wash. The smile appeared back on his face, this was the opportunity he was hoping for.

"Thanks." He said to the guards and punched one in the face, turning quickly to side kick the other. The first guard came into punch him, but he ducked, while the second guard was already moving to punch the prisoner in the gut, instead catching him in the side of the face. Dazed for a moment, the first guard wrapped him up and lifted while the second angrily came over to beat the convict. He kicked out with both of his legs kicking the oncoming guard, sending him back into the wall, hitting his head against the wall and collapsing. The momentum sent the guard holding him backward tripping, falling head first onto the hard stoney floor knocking him out.

The prisoner smiled. With these two taken out, he ran out of the room, hiding behind pillars, keeping out of sight from the guards roaming the halls. He wasn't built the guards, and his hair was much to long and far to light to disguise himself as one, so he'd have to keep his wits about him and hide. The other convicts watched him dash from hiding place to hiding place wondering how he did it, how he escaped. No one knew who he was. Good, he didn't want them to know... yet, he only wanted to know them.

He found his way back to the stairs and sprinted up them two at a time then three making it to the top. He would need some leverage if he was to make it out of here alive. He opened the door to a crack. The girl was standing there, listening to the warden. He cared about her, if only as a possession and tool then anything else. He was lecturing her, sitting in his chair watching the ongoings outside. He dared to open the door a little further, but it squeaked. He quickly closed it to a crack again, hoping the warden wouldn't notice.

When the convict was taken from the room the young girl used the wall to stand, wiping the dried blood from her nose. Her father sat down in his chair and turned his back to her, a shun nonetheless for her speaking out at him while there were others in the room. "Do you think I like hitting you Illesi? You arent like the vermin I hold in my cells, you are my daughter and it is that reason of why you mustnt speak with guards around." He said to her as she tilted her head towards the ground. There was a few moments of silence, Illesi perked her head up as she heard a loud squeak from the door behind her. Turning slightly to glance she blinked a few times, not paying much mind to it since this jail was filled with noises which she would rather go on as unexplainable. Turning her attention back to her father as he turned in his chair to face her. "Illesi, I would do anything for you. Anything to keep you safe. These guards arent like me. They arent loving and forgiving like I am. If it were up to them you would be locked away just like those other foul beasts."

Illesi felt his words pelt her. He was making fun of her without really saying it bluntly. "Father, Im sorry. I shouldnt have spoken out, but that woman..."

"Is a nobody. A demon. A rank and vile creature who conceived a child who was also vermin of this planet. It was only right to end them both before making both suffer any more." He nodded in a matter of fact tone, turning back around in his chair to look out the window once more.

Illesi tightened her fists, her temper wanting to flare but knowing it wasnt smart at all to do. Her father cared for her deeply, but he wouldnt pass the chance to beat her. "Yes Father." She muttered as she turned towards the door, ready to leave and find her safe haven back in her own room.

The prisoner opened enough to watch the ordeal, he saw her fists tighten. She was strong, but emotionally bound. As she turned and started to walk, he had enough time enough to close the door and lean up against the wall in the darkness hiding himself. It was times like this where he cursed his white hair, but she would have to turn the other way to close the door, with luck he wouldn't be noticed.

She opened the door and walked through turning her back to him shutting the door. Once it was closed, he caught her from behind, his hand covering her mouth, his other arm wrapped around her arms and midsection keeping her tight against him. He pulled her down a few steps. He had noted that he couldn't hear the screams of the convicts, so the office must have been sound proof, still he didn't want to take his chances. He leaned his head close to her ear and spoke in a soft quiet whisper.

"I'm not going to hurt you, that is spoken upon my life, but I do need you to get my out of here, and a little leverage if we are caught. Just stay quiet, and we may just get out of here safely."

He let his grip on her go and took her wrist pulling her down the stairs with him. He ran to where all the corridors met in the center where all the corridors met and pulled out a map from his boot. Luckily they didn't check shoes thoroughly for weapons. He opened it with one hand and studied the drawn on path for the way out. Sticking the map into his pocket, he chose the correct corridor and sprinted down it making turns as needed.

"Damn! This place is as winding as the Labrynth of Daedalus!" He spoke during one of the many occasions when he had to stop and check his map again. He kept hold of the silent girl who trailed behind him all the while and would run again. On several accounts he had to turn back and find where he was again. How could anyone navigate his hellish place?

They had to hide from few guards, hardly anyone who entered these halls ever escaped, and even those souls never made it out of the border without death knocking at their doors, so why would the guards be heavily walking the corridors. The other convicts begged for their release from the two excapees, but fell silent whenever a guard came around. At least they were smart convicts. Whenever guards did come around though, the runner would take hold of the girl again keeping his hand over her mouth as a warning. Once they were clear, they would keep moving.

Right when she closed the door Illesi felt something wasnt right. When she felt a cold hand wrap around her mouth and a being pull her strongly against them she closed her eyes and tried to pry herself free from whoever it was, but she was alas too petite to do so. The whisper from the familiar voice of the convict from before made Illesi stop squirming and listen to him, letting herself lean against him as if suddenly defeated. When he let go of her and grabbed her wrist she reached out for her Father's door but was tugged away from it as he pulled her down the stairs. Her heart rate rose extremely as she watched her father's door continually distance itself from her. She had dreamed of scenarios like this one, where she is escaping.

As he pulled her further away she eventually turned her back to the door and followed him, looking up and watching as he pulled out a map. Shaking her head she rolled her eyes as he then pulled her a specific way. Illesi knew he was about to go in a circle and chuckled to herself as he again pulled out his 'trusty' map. When she heard guards coming she was heavily tempted to yell out to them, but a hand forced over her mouth prevented her from making the slightest peep. When they were again alone Illesi pulled his hand from her mouth, tugging at her wrist. "You are foolish if you think you are going to escape this place relying on a silly map!" She snapped at him, her red furious eyes locked onto his. "Maybe you should have made a better plan in that thick head of yours." Sure Illesi was sympathetic to those who fell under the weight of her father unfairly, but she wasnt some Daisy. Illesi had quite the temper and wasnt afraid to voice it. "There are only two ways out of here, one of them is certain death since the guards never sleep in that corridor. The other is well hidden and I doubt your silly map indicates WHERE or WHAT it is." Illesi tugged on her wrist from the man as she spoke, her tongue spitting daggers at him.

As the guards passed, he released her and listened to her petition as he looked around the wall in front of him. Looked at his map again, decided upon something, pocketed his map and turned to face her again, looked into her eyes, letting her finish her elitism. When she finally finished, his smile appeared back onto his face, his fist backed up hard against a brick in the wall, and felt it push in. The rest of the wall pushed back and swung open revealing a corridor. His expression changed to one of pleading desire.

"From here is where I need your help. My map only reaches this far, once I am done with you, you are free to go, will you help me? I've gotten what I've come for."

In good faith he released her wrist letting her have the the choice of staying or going, but he kept his body ready to snatch at her in case she ran for it, and his reflexes were very in tune with his mind. "I even promise to give you information that the warden would find very useful, all you have to do is come with me." It was a desireable offer, one he hoped she couldn't pass up. His words were true as he wished to be believed, but he meant to give her the wrong impression of when all this would happen.

Illesi watched as he had opened a corridor that she didnt expect him to find. She watched him, arching an eyebrow at him and his smile. When he asked for her help she blinked a few times. As he released her wrist she brought it up to her chest and rubbed the now red skin. "Information? You think I want information to give to my father so he can just kill more people?" She shook her head "When you assume you make an ass out of yourself you know." Illesi heard some guards coming from the opposite way, chatting and laughing loudly. She looked at him again, at his face and his expression.

"Fine, I'll help you get out of here." She glared at him as she shoved him into the corridor, swinging the brick wall closed afterword. The corridor was pitch black, the only way they could see was the special adaptation they would have to their eyes from being demonic. Illesi glared at the man, her eyes slightly glowing in the darkness. "I am only helping you because my father would have you slaughtered, especially if he found out you escaped his guards." She snapped as she turned around and looked down the corridor, the many spiderwebs through the narrow hall being their only company. Glaring back at him one last time she started to walk down the hall at a quick pace, dodging the spiderwebs and taking a quick right into a much narrower corridor. So narrow they would have to navigate sideways. As the corridor went on the height also decreased, almost making them go down onto their knees to get through. This continued and Illesi took a tight squeeze to the left and it opened up to a slightly larger corridor which held a brisk breeze. She looked back to check up on him for a moment before continuing down the corridor, the wind getting stronger and colder as they continued. There was a tiny blue light at the end of the corridor, marking the exit to the outside. Illesi stopped and looked at him "There, that is the exit. It will take you to right next to the abandoned train station and off of the property." She said as she looked back to the small light. "I lead you to the exit and now I am free to go as you promised." Illesi said as she took a step backwards, ready to turn and leave.

The prisoner smiled when the girl agreed, and at a cheeper price than he honestly expected. He thought she'd want to keep her employers favor, if she came back without information and having helped a prisoner, surely she would be beaten more then ever. He heard the guards and slipped into the corridor entrance following the girl. With the door closed, it should be a straight shot from here to the exit, no obstacles. Once she started to move, he was close behind her. She was surprisingly agile for her petite slender figure.

He followed her through the winding tunnel until he saw a tiny light, no bigger than his thumb at first, slowly grow into a cave mouth. They stopped at the entrance and because she stopped. At first he thought it was because she was tired but then she spoke. When she turned to leave, he took her shoulder and spun her around.

"I'm sorry, but the terms of our agreement are not yet fullfilled, you must go with me further." He took her wrist again and pulled her with him running across an open field. The light was blinding for a few seconds, but their time in the cave adjusted his eyes enough that it didn't matter. It was a vast expanse. It made sense now as to why no convict ever escaped. "Damn... it's going to take a miracle to cross all this in time..." He kept hold of the girl as he stopped and looked around.

Illesi was caught by surprise as he grabbed her and spun her back around towards him. As he spoke Illesi's eyes widened and her jaw dropped. "What?!" She exclaimed as he grabbed her wrist and pulled her along once more. This time she struggled even more, locking her knees and leaning back trying to make him let go of her. As he pulled her out into the field the light caught her off guard, closing her eyes and nearly falling forward as he pulled her through the field at a run. Illesi didnt get a chance to regain herself until he finally stopped. When he did she pulled at her wrist again, until it was numb. "Let go! I dont belong out here!" She yelled as she grabbed his arm with her hand, digging her claws into him. "Let go of me!" Illesi continued to yell at him as she tried to pry him off. She had never been outside the walls of the prison, and never dared to. Her face was on all of the posters warning people about breaking the rules. It was her face that people hated, her face that they burned and threw knives at. Her father told her horror stories of what would possibly happen to her if she was ever spotted in public, they haunted her mind night and day whenever she wanted to leave.

The prisoner, now kidnapper, surveyed the land. Surely they had to bring prisoners here often in some sort of vehicle. Success! There was an armored bus on it's way now. He smiled, this wouldn't take much brains to act out, the brains would come later on in the plan. He turned back to the girl ignoring her pleas. He pulled a leather thong from his pocket meant for his hair, and forced the girl down on the ground where he proceeded to bind her ankles together and thumbs to her ankles. She'd be uncomfortable leaning forward like that leaning over her knees, but it was only temporary, he just couldn't have her running.

He didn't stand there long until the bus came into view. When the driver saw the two he stopped grumpily and turned his head to the back of the bus opening the door. The plan was working, one of the guards on the prison transport stepped off the bus with a shot gun, getting ready to aim it at them while speaking, "Stop, I'm going to need you to..." But he never finished his sentence, the escaped convict swung his leg around kicking the guns barrel away, and swinging his fist forward into the guards face. The dazed guard stumbled forward to fight back, but his attacker grabbed his shirt and threw him against the bus knocking him out.

It didn't take long for the bus driver and the other guard to get off the bus. The guard with another shotgun and the driver with a desert eagle. This one would be a little more difficult. He held his position tensing his muscles.

"We should shoot you right now, but it seems you have kidnapped the Warden, that means we have something a little special for you planned, now get on the bus." The guard spoke.

The convict rolled his eyes. Warden? Did they really think he was that dumb? He stayed still until he heard the guns cock to life. Right before he let them shoot, he jumped kicking both gun barrels sending the guns flying, if they wanted to attack him it would have to be hand to hand. They both swung high as he came down forcing him to duck in a split second and sweep out with his foot tripping one to his ass. The other punched down into the mans shoulder. It was blunt and hard causing his arm to die for a few seconds. He swung up punching the bus driver in the face making him fall back. When he got up the guard was waiting for him catching him by the throat. His grip was strong, he could already feel his fision fade as he sputtered for air clawing to free his neck. Without much of a choice, he kicked up into the guards groin hard and strong releasing him to his knees sputtering for air. The Guard fell wimpering while the bus driver began to wail on the convicts back. He cried out in pain rolling around having a few blows land on his chest. He kicked up with both feet sending the driver stumbling back. He convict got up and punched the bus driver right in the nose jamming it back into his head and falling down dead.

It was done. He was breathing hard and heavy. He looked over at the girl tiredly and walked over to her untying her, but then binding her wrists behind her back pushing her to the bus not to unkindly. Once they were on and she was tied up in a seat next to one of the bound convicts, he started up the bus, turned around and sped off the vast expanse of prison land. He would make it out of her, he could do this. They havn't even raised an alarm, were the guards he knocked out really that weak?

He looked over at his bound captive and winked with a sly grin. He would keep her bound along with the other convicts because if they knew that she was there, then all hell would break loose, and he needed these men and women's help. "Don't worry princess, I will still act true to my word." He promised facing the front again and driving on.

When Illesi was bound to herself she let out a shout of frustration, pulling at the leather without much avail. No thumbs meant no way to really grip and pull. Tumbling onto her side she continued to try and get out in any possible way. After getting a serious cramp in her arms she stopped, laying there helplessly as she watched the convict take out the guards easily. It made her wonder why he didnt do that in the first place while he was in her father's office.

When he picked her up and unbound her she tried to pull away from him, only finding herself spun around and her wrists tied behind her back. Gritting her teeth she nearly stumbled forward into the bus, getting quite upset as he pushed her into the seat next to a tied up convict. Leaning her head down she let her hair fall over her face, covering it so she wasnt found out. If the bus load of convicts knew who she was she would surely be blistered. Illesi was just pleased that they were all black bagged, so they had no possible way to see her unless they unbound themselves.

"Hey, what's going on here?" The convict next to her shouted as he struggled in his restraints, pushing the black bag on his head against the seat which moved it up slightly. "You had better not be a damn guard sitting next to me, God help your soul." He growled at her. This made the entire bus load of convicts begin to bustle about.

Illesi hissed at him, putting her face close to his beneath the black bag. "God help your soul if you are so naive!" Her voice snapped at him, causing the entire bus to become silent again.

"Where did you come from?" He asked as he took a deep breath through his nose, coughing slightly. "You smell like death."

Illesi shifted herself back away from him, trying to keep herself as far away as possible from him. "I came...from the jail that we are now driving away from." She said as she lowered her head again.

The bus load gasped, talking about her as if she had defiled death. "So you were a prisoner?!" The man on her other side asked in shock.

Looking up towards the faceless demon she glanced at her convict friend "You could say that, yes." She said as she adjusted her wrists, her body achy now.

"How did you escape?! That place is a fortress!" Someone in the back shouted to her.

"Yeah, it is." She said plainly and then put her feet on the seat she was sitting on, putting her face in her knees. Illesi no longer wished to speak although more and more questions poured out to her from all of the shocked convicts. What they thought of as a hero and role model, was possibly their worst nightmare unrealized. Illesi closed her eyes and just felt the bumps and turns of the bus, drowning out everything else.

The kidnapper smirked. She wasn't their savior, she was the one they all believed put them in this predicament. But he kept his mouth shut, he would let her have her moment. She was probably scared to death because she believed he broke his promise. With any luck, she would find comfort in the fact that they're all praising her rather than trying to get up out of the seat and kill her.

He drove on for a few hours finally getting out of the prisons boundaries. This was a good chance to take a break and address the prisoners, make it known what his plan was from there. He stopped the bus and got out from his chair turning to the blinded crowd.

"Good afternoon my fellow halfbreeds. My name is Paulk DeRouge. I am the leader of the resistence group called Pheonix. I infiltrated the prison to gather information and now am securing your freedon in hopes that you join us to take down the monsters trying to wipe us out. What say you?"

"What say us?" One called back after a moments silence. "I say you come untie me, and I'll make myself your little bitch, you know how long I've been looking for you until they caught me?"

This brought much laughter from everyone including Paulk, which soon turned to a cheer. Paulk let the noise die down before speaking again. "Unfortunately I cannot untie you quite yet, I'm transporting some valuable... information along with me which until I figure out what it means, you are not at liberty to lay your eyes on it. But in due time, we are almost at the headquarters where my people will come up and free you taking you to an orientation. Just trust that you will be free men once more."

A reluctant cheer arose again. They didn't like the fact that they couldn't be free quite yet, but they were at least patient people, they could hold out for a few miles. Paulk sat back into his chair and pulled a pair of circular wire sunglasses putting them on, and drove off again. He heard many conversations. Some were excited about being free, some whiney about having to stay bound, and others trying to remain silent, trying to keep their hopes up, was this to good to be true?

They arrived at a clearing. A meadow to be exact, and parked it out in the open. Once all the guests were off the bus, one of his people would dismantle it and reuse the parts for their own needs, destroy the tracking chip if it had one. Paulk didn't believe it would, this bus was only meant to drive the distance between the towns and the prison.

He got up and walked off the bus pacing around the field as if looking for something. He dropped to his knees and pulled back a square of grass, a key pad rose out of the ground where he entered the pass code. Within seconds, a secret stairway revealed from under the ground and two people came up out of it.

"Ariel, we have some new arrivals, if you would please tend to them after I get our guest off the bus. Hector, you make sure none of them see me walk underground, our guest is kind of a big deal and I'd really not like for her to get hurt."

"Yes sir." They both said snapping to attention.

Ariel followed Paulk onto the bus. He took the top of the convicts hood who sat next to the warden's puppet and told him to close his eyes. He rose it up off his head and quickly covered his eyes before putting the hood over the girls head. "This is for your own protection, you must trust me this time." He told her helping her up and untying her wrists. Keeping a firm grip on her shoulders he led her off the bus and down the stairs.

The traveled through the halls until making it into the barracks. He opened the door and closed it making sure it was locked. It was a big room, doubling as a bedroom and office. In the area they were at, there was a desk, a TV, small radio, three chairs around the desk, one behind two in front, and a couch against the wall. Through the door on the right wall was a small bathroom with a shower, toilet, and sink, through the door on the other side of that was a hammock and another radio, a closet, and some personal leisure items.

"You may take off your hood, your safe now. Please make yourself comfortable." Paulk took a seat behind his desk and began sorting through the papers that had accumulated during his absense.

Illesi was silent and didnt struggle when he placed the black cover over her head, although it wreaked like bad demon breath. As he untied her wrists and lead her off the bus she allowed him to guide her wherever he decided to bring her. She had no clue where she was and obviously he wanted to keep it like that. Upon hearing a large door close she stood still, holding onto her own crossed arms. When he told her she could take off her hood she stayed still for a few more moments, not wanting to move at all. Slowly she reached up and pulled the hood up and off of her head and dropping it onto the floor. Looking around she backed up into the wall beside her and stood against it as if there were no floor in the middle of the room and staying close to the wall was her only chance.

"Why did you bring me here?" She asked, her voice not as stern and cold as it was before, but still having quite a bit of bite to it. Illesi knew better than to mouth off to someone when she no longer had the home field advantage. She was on his territory now, in the place where the resistance hid themselves away from the world. If she knew where she was then she could possibly return home if she escaped. But by the feel of the room they were underground somewhere, and underground is much harder to navigate than above ground.

Paulk began sorting the papers into piles. Very important, mildly important, and can wait. He looked up when she spoke and ignored her question for a moment picking up his phone. "Bring some food to my room, enough for two." He spoke then hung up and looked back up at the girl.

"You mean a lot to the warden, he'll get careless with you in our possession. We have no intention of harming you, we just want to stop all the murder, all the pain, all the torture. Do you understand? So please, take a seat and get comfortable, I still am within the perameters of my promise if you remember. Being here even gives you information on us for the Warden, but with any luck it won't be of use to him until after he's overthrown."

There was a knock on the door and Paulk stood up with a smile, casually walking over to it. He unlocked the door spoke a few words to the messanger and closed it again locking it. He placed the try onto his desk and removed he lid. There was an assortment of mini sandwiches and cheese and crackers, and a bottle of soda and two glasses.

"Now please eat, I'd hate for you to starve. Your a guest here." He said picking up a sandwich then pouring two glasses of the soda.

Illesi stayed against the wall, as if it were her strong hold and shield away from the real world and what was actually happening. When he offered her food she shook her head, a slight scowl coming to her face "I'm not hungry." She said sternly as she looked away from him, Illesi absolutely refused to let herself be fed by the Rebellion. Who knows what they could have put in it? Sure HE promised not to hurt her, but his promise didnt count for the others in the Rebellion that were probably somewhere throwing knives at her face.

Crossing her arms she turned to her side, so her shoulder was against the wall and her back towards the door. She remained silent, opening her mouth once as if she were going to speak, but then quickly sealed her lips. Illesi decided that it would be easier to just not speak to him anymore.

"You will come to trust me princess, I am not the enemy." He said then returned to eating another sandwich and reading his papers. There was a knock at the door. Paulk got up and walked to the door opening it allowing Ariel to come in. He smiled and closed the door behind her locking it.

"Sir, the new recruits are in orientation now. There seems to be a lot of talk about your great escape. But they're saying that a girl was the one who made it out not you."

Paulk let out a chuckle. "Let them beleive it. They need a hero to focus on, they need to believe that a savior is coming in order to keep morale up, we will win with them believing a champion is on her way."

"Is this her?" Ariel turned to look at the girl against the wall, unable to get a good look at her face. "Who is she? Another prisoner?"

"Of sorts. She won't be seen around the catacombs though, she's a bit of a shy one." Paulk lied about being shy, she was a strong one, but her safety was important with so many of her enemies in oe place. "Now what can I do for you?"

"We need you at the orietation room in fifteen minutes to give your welcoming speech."

"I'll be along shortly, I just have to work some things out in here. See you in a few."

Ariel turned without another word and left the room stealing one more glance at the back of Illesi's head and leaving. She paused ouside the closed and locked again door feeling a bit angry and deprived. Paulk never kept secrets from his officers, he was hiding something. Who was that girl really? She would need to find out.

Upon the next knock at the door Illesi just tightened her grip on her arms. She expected them to come and go like the last one, but when the person was allowed to enter the room Illesi dropped her head slightly, making sure her face was not visible. When the girl's voice spoke to Paulk, she just listened. They thought of her as a hero? Shaking her head slightly she scoffed. If they really knew who she was they would find her to be a monster, nothing more.

Once the girl was gone Illesi looked up at Paulk, a slight smirk on her face. "A shy one?" She rolled her eyes. His lie was just absolutely ridiculous to say the least. Waiting a few moments she was silent, finally hearing the other girl's footsteps leaving the door. Why did she pause by the door? Leaning her back against the wall she continued to look at him "What happens when you arent here? When I am suddenly not under the protection of your lies?" She asked, her eyes locked onto him as if she was supposed to watch for something extraordinary to happen and that if she blinked she would miss it. "What happens when your officers want to know who I am? When they question you about your secretive behaviors?" Arching an eyebrow she waited for his response.

Calling him a liar. The comment stung him, he glared up at the girl then softened his expression just as fast. "Look, I'm doing what I can to protect you, I have never once lied to my people, it's how I gained their trust in the first place, I'm taking a big risk with you, the least you can do is trust me."

Paulk stood up from his desk feeling very exhaused. He leaned foward palms on his table closing his eyes taking a deep breath. Finally, he rose back up, and straightened some papers into neat piles and stood back up composing himself. "I must go give my speech now, wait here, your welcome to anything unlocked in here." He said. All of his most private affairs were kept under lock and key, the more public matters were usually out in the open, or unlocked cabinets.

He strode over to the door and let himself out making sure to lock the door again. He turned and made his way to the orientation room and waited to make his speech. One he knew from heart. When he made his way to the stage, Ariel walked past him and stopped him. "I must go use the restroom, I will be back." Paulk nodded.

Seeing Paulk leave his room, a lean figure in black with a hood over their face looked around to make sure no one was looking and picked the lock. Letting themself in, they looked around he office. What the figure needed to know would be found in here. The figure walked towards the desk, but shifted at some movement in the corner of their eye. Walking over, the robber gazed down at the girl facing the back of the couch. She looked familiar.

Illesi watched as Paulk left, scoffing at him as he closed the door. "Trust...Why in Gods name would I ever trust..." She stopped and sighed, walking over to the couch and sitting on it. Running her hand through her hair she looked to the floor. "How can I trust someone like him..." She mumbled to herself as she leaned back, still staring at the ground. "I cant trust him..." She yawned as she then leaned over, laying herself onto the couch. "I cant..." She mumbled again as she stared blankly around the room, her eyes feeling heavy. After a few minutes of fighting herself she finally turned herself over on the couch and let her eyes roll shut. The room became silent other than a slight ticking noise from the clock on Paulk's desk.

Illesi mumbled herself into a doze, not noticing anyone come in the room at all.

Paulk finished his speech with applause, and made his way back to the hall. He walked through, shaking hands and nodding to people, but not staying long enough to make idle conversation. He needed to make sure Illesi was alright. You know what... He though, I don't even know her name, they never do say it in all he propaganda.

The figure was about to roll the girl over, but felt the urge to look at their watch, out of time. They would have to come back for what they were looking for, but next time be more cautious now that they knew about the girl in the room. The figure ran to the door and opened it, looked to their right to see Paulk with his back turned. Before he could make his presence known, he ran swiftly through the halls, entering a supply closet.

Paul walked to the door shaking his head thinking he was seeing things. He opened the unlocked door not thinking much of it, and closed it again snapping it locked. He noticed the girl sleeping on the couch, so he silently sat in his chair and began searching the papers again. He looked up... Something was wrong....

When the door snapped shut it woke Illesi, opening her eyes and taking a moment to take in the scents in the room. It was Paulk who had entered the room to sit at his desk. Rolling over she looked over at him as he looked up as well. She could feel the tension in his stare, as if something were horribly wrong. Sitting up she cleared the hair from her face, studying him once again. "What's with the look on your face?" She asked as she blinked a few times, wondering what in the world he was worried about. She rolled her eyes slightly and was about to speak again when she was suddenly struck with a strong taste in her mouth. This caused her claws to tighten on the couch, looking around as she grimaced. It was a rancid taste in the least, and it was all around her. "What on Earth is that?!" She exclaimed as she tried to push the taste away from her, as if it were a physical being. "Its the same disgusting smell I encountered when you first brought me off of that damn bus..." She complained as she looked up at him.

Paulk stood up grasping onto each of her words. He walked over to the door sniffing the air smelling the same scent. He'd never smelt it before, yet it smelt familiar. He unlocked the door and opened it looking into the hall. The scent was somewhat stronger, he sniffed the handle and closed the door locking it again.

"Did you unlock the door at all after I left? Leave the room for anything?" He asked cautiously weary.

He left the room letting her ponder the question, walking down the hall cautiously. He sniffed the air trying to find the path of the intruder. He made it to the closet slowly reaching to the handle, he twisted it and yanked it open ready to strike at any attacker, but no one was there. No sign that anyone had even been there at all.

Remembering that he left the girl alone again, he jogged back to his room and locked it. He walked around the room. Nothing seemed to be disturbed. The intruder didn't touch anything.... unless. He looked up at the girl. She was in danger if that's who the intruder was after. He thought back, he definately locked the door, why was it unlocked when he walked back in?

"What do you remember from when I was gone?

Illesi sat on the couch while he got up and basically panicked. Her claws tightened on the couch, splitting the fibers of the material as she watched him move about his room. When he asked his question she scowled at him, as if she would be able to leave or do anything of that nature. She had no clue where she was. As he left the room with the door wide open she widened her eyes, what if someone walked in? They would certainly see her.

When he basically exploded back into the room and closed the door she watched him intently, he was making her nervous. As he looked up at her she jumped slightly, pushing her back against the couch. Arching her brow she scowled at him once again. "Calm down! All your senseless running around is making me nervous." She rolled her eyes at him and pulled her claws from the couch, not noticing she had damaged it. "Look, you left. I mumbled some rude words about you, came to the couch and nodded off. Thats all that I remember since thats all that happened." Crossing her arms she watched him, her eyes caught onto him like a hawk. "Looks like your room isnt so secure after all now is it?"

He man laughed humourlessly. He turned and looked in her direction. "Senseless.. senseless? Do you have any idea what's in this room, secrets about the damn prison that I wonder you even know. Not to mention the greatest breakthrough on the downfall of the warden and his reign of terror. That breakthrough being you. Don't tell me to calm down..." He turned back around and paced the room going into his bedroom making sure everything was alright in there, he began muttering to himself. "They couldn't have seen her... no the alarms would probably be raised... we have a mole.. no one knows how to get in, not even the pass code... if they saw her face the entire camp would be in here..."

Paulk kept pacing about the rooms looking in different spots, some spots multiple times until Illesi said something that threw him over the edge. He sped walked over to her taking her by the shoulders looking in her eyes. "Not safe! This is the most secure room in the entire fort. Only one key to it which I have, enchanted by half demons who still remember their powers. No one can pick that lock." He said but wasn't sure of himself anymore. What if it was one of the enchanters... no... they'd all have to be conspiring against him... no... that would be ridiculous...

Illesi was suddenly taken by her shoulders by Paulk, an instant hiss coming from her lips as he looked her in the eye and shouted at her. Listening to him for a few moments Illesi then grabbed his arms and pulled them off of her shoulders, raising a hand and slapping Paulk straight across the cheek with a resounding echo that silenced as his cheek turned bright red. "Listen to me you fool! If someone was conspiring against you they wouldnt have to sneak into your room to fulfill their wishes!" She yelled at him as her eyes flared. "And besides, if someone DID see who I was wouldnt you expect the entire place to come running in to end me?!" She shouted once more as she stood and shoved him backwards by his shoulders. Taking a deep breath she crossed her arms "Dont you dare EVER grab me like that and yell in my face ever again." She snapped at him, her words like daggers.

Paulk leaned back releasing the girl standing up straight, seeming to loose all senses. His mind was blinded by fog as it tried to reboot back into a calm composure. "Yes, your right, my appologies princess..." He walked over to his desk and sat down leaning back covering his face with his hands. His cool back with him, he began to process everything. He let out a sigh and leaned forward resting his chin one his laced fingers.

"I'm going to need to take more security measures. Obviously someones hiding something from me, and we have a mole. I'll need to bring Ariel and Hector in here to talk to them about the situation and see what they think..." He spoke to himself. He began going through papers again and looked back up at the girl.

Illesi watched him go back to his desk, finally seeming calm again. As he spoke to himself about situations at hand she looked around the room again, finding a painting on the wall and walking to it, standing in front of it as she looked up to it. A slight smile came to her face as she traced the colorful lines with her eyes. As he spoke up, telling her he hadnt gotten her name she turned around and smiled at him slightly. "Thats because you act first and ask questions later... typical male." She shook her head and rolled her eyes slightly as she walked back over to the couch, sitting back down onto it and crossing one leg over top the other as she paced her hands on her knee. For a few moments it seemed as if she werent going to tell him, but she looked up at him and smiled slightly "My name is Illesi..."

He watched as she walked across her room and looked at the painting. He was rather proud of that one. It represented the peace he wished to provide once this foolish war was over. When she turned and smiled at him, he felt suddenly at ease. Nothing mattered anymore, he could take on any problem now without fearing reprocussion. Her answer was an insult at him, but mixed with that smile, it only felt as if she were playing with him. He followed her with his eyes as she crossed back and sat down formally. She wasn't going to answer him, that was an insult toward him, but then she did.

Illesi, it was a lovely name. His mouth curled into a half smile and he looked down at his papers shifting one away seemingly satisfied with the answer then looked backup at her and winked. "So I noticed a smile there, feeling hungry?" He asked feeling as if she felt more comfortable in the room with him.

Illesi continued to watch him, he seemed satisfied with her answer. When he asked her if she were hungry again her smile faded and her eyes closed as she turned her head away. She still wasnt going to open herself up to any kind of tricks he may have had in mind, even if it were dealing with her well being. "No." She stated clearly continuing with, "Im not hungry." Her voice wasnt as harsh as it was previously when she denied food, but it was still said in a matter of fact tone.

Illesi's cheeks turned quite the tone of red when her stomach betrayed her and let out a long groan and gurgle a the turn down of food. Grasping her stomach she bit her lip, her face completely flushed. "Betrayed by my own body..." She mumbled as she glanced over at him "I guess I am...sort of... hungry."

Paulk laughed and picked up his phone again ordering more food to his door. Again he walked over to the door not allowing the deliverer to see inside and locking it. This time it was just a normal sized sandwhich and a glass of water which he sat next to the girl. "Enjoy it, we don't have guests often." He stated and sat behind his desk again eating more of the mini sandwiches from earlier.

Meanwhile, in a dripping dark tunnel, a black clad figure walked through, making his (for lack of descripion on their part) way to a door. Pausing making sure he had no followers, he opened it and entered. It was a small room, nothing in it but a generator, desk, and computer. He turned on the generator making a loud hum echo through the room aplifing the sound. The computer booted up to the newfound power.

The figure pulled down his hood, face masked by the shadows as he started up the camera, clicking a call button on the computer making the face of the warden pop onto the screen.

"Did you get the files I asked for?" He asked.

"No sir, there wasn't enough time." The figure spoke, a voice modifier disguising his voice.

"You said ten minutes was ample time!" The warden's anger was rising.

"There was someone in the room, a girl, I hadn't accounted for that, my appologies."

The warden paused while he lowered a cup from his face having just taken a drink. "A girl? What did she look like?" He asked becoming interested.

"Pale, sir, hair and all."

"Bring me this girl, do whatever it takes, she can not be in the rebellion's possession, she holds to many secrets."

"Can I just kill her?"

"And risk being caught, no, I want her alive. I don't care how long it takes, just make sure she doesn't talk, make sure she doesn't trust anybody, except you."

"Yes sir..."

The video feed died and the figure turned off the generator. He walked out of the room and made his way in a different direction. Another tunnel and ladder led him directly to his room where he had already promised the people closest to him to be.

Illesi paused for a few moments, taking the sandwich into her hands once Paulk was no longer looking at her and brought it to her face. Sniffing the sandwich for a moment she flipped through it like one would with a book, just checking it out. Glancing up at Paulk one last time she then opened her mouth and took a fairly large bite from the sandwich, a smile instantly coming upon her face. "This is delicious!" She blurted out once she swallowed her mouthful. Taking another she chewed it happily, looking at the sandwich and the apparent fang marks left behind from her bites. Chuckling to herself she imagined the sandwich cutely screaming as she ate it. Sort of a dark humor joke really.

Paulk looked up and chuckled a little bit at her reaction and laughing, though he didn't know what the laughing was about, and smiled. "I'll be sure to tell the cook his work is appreciated." He looked down at his papers again and finally moved the last one to the finished pile. He was finally done for the day, and with that he rolled his chair from his desk, still sitting in it, and wheeled himself adjacent to her.

"Is there anything else I can get for you?" He asked, then looked over to the door. Leaving his offer open, he decided to tell her something first. "I need to call my commands in. They need to be made aware of the mole, and with your consent, you in case rumors pop up causing unease within the ranks." He said looking into her eyes seriously.

Illesi shook her head to his offer of getting her something else. She looked at his as he explained to her about his commands which he wanted to tell about her to. Illesi was obviously uneasy about that thought, looking away from Paulk as she considered his words. After a few moments she spoke, quietly. "Your people want me dead. They want to mount me on a wall and take their turns throwing daggers and anything else they can possibly toss across the room at me. To them I am the monster and their number one enemy. My face is the reason the rebellion started..." She said as she then looked at him, her features still quite uneasy. Taking a deep breath she nodded "I trust you to keep me from harm..." Illesi said, giving him permission to bring in his commands.

The man nodded resting a hand reassuringly to her shoulder. "The good thing about you being here now, the warden can no longer use you, soon enough the people will realize that the prison isn't weakening, that your loss hasn't affected the place in anyway, and your name will be cleared, you'll be able to walk these halls as if you were as much a prisoner as the rest of the people here. You being here is a good thing."

Paulk stood up and walked to his phone making a call to Ariel and Hector. Within moments, the officers were knocking on the door and Paulk let them in. Both of them were staring at Illesi, but didn't speak. The air in the roo was awkward, then Paulk spoke up.

"Ariel, Hector," both of them looked up at their leader, "This is Illesi. She is exactly who you think she is, however, she's not what you think. She is like how the Queen of England was. Only a figurehead, the mask to who truly runs the prison."

"And were supposed to believe this... why?" Ariel asked.

It was Hector who answered. "No it makes sense, have you noticed that the prison hasn't even faltered in anyway. It's as strong as ever."

"Right, but even so, she needs to be a well kept secret between the three of us, under pain of death." Paulk staired at each one of them. "Now to more serious matters, we have a mole."

He continued onto the story of how his room was broken into, and began discussing plans of action, every now and then including Illesi in the helping with the plans."

When Paulk's officers Hector and Ariel came into Paulk's office she felt their eyes on her. She looked away until Paulk introduced her to them, looking up to them for a moment and then looked away when the woman spoke. Its exactly what Illesi expected from someone else, the same doubt in their mind. Illesi looked up at him and smiled slightly when Hector responded to Ariel, actually right about what he was saying.

Illesi sighed, her life had become nothing BUT secrets and lies. She watched the clock on Paulk's desk as he spoke of plans and what not to his two trusted friends. Illesi didnt have much to do, her opinion wasnt important in this room nor was it really needed. During the middle of Paulk's speech of plans she actually stood up and walked back over to the painting she was at before, staring at it once again with a smile.

"Right, so we'll keep the mole on the downlow for the time being, but undergo investigations ourselves for the moment?"

The commands nodded, and Paulk looked up over at Illesi, then at his officers. "Alright meeting ajourned. I'm sure we all could use a bit of rest." The officers stood up and made their way to the door, Hector left, but Ariel turned back and made her way to Paulk.

"Paulk, it's not a good idea keeping her in here, she shouldn't even be here in the first place. A puppet can't learn to control themselves over night, what if she is the mole?" She spoke in a whisper only loud enough for her leader to hear.

"No, it may not be the best idea, but no one elses room is as secure in here, and even if she was a mole, don't you think she'd be using this time a bit more wisely rather than enjoying a piece of art?" He asked.

Ariel rolled her eyes. "I'll support you, sir," she spoke sir with a venomous accent, but it doesn't mean I have to like it."

"I thank you for your loyalty Ariel." He watched her leave standing there for a moment and then walked to stand behind Illesi. "You like it?" He asked.

Illesi couldnt help but overhear some of Ariel's conversation with Paulk, but she just shrugged it off. She was used to having people talk about her behind her back, but never before in the same room. As the girl left Illesi sighed and just stared at the painting she was standing infront of. When Paulk spoke from behind her she jumped slightly, not noticing him walk over. Looking back at him she smiled and nodded to him "Its absolutely wonderful...and so..." She turned around and looked up at Paulk, her sentence completely interrupted as she looked at him, a light pink hue coming to her cheeks as she blinked a few times. "And...uh..." She tried to find her line of thought but it was gone. Turning back around she looked back up at the painting, rubbing the back of her neck, embarrassed that she just froze up like she did.

Paulk smiled, slightly amused by her stammering, not making fun of her at all. He let her turn and look at the picture a few more moments and he looked at th back of her long lovely pale hair. He stood his arms behind his back, feet shoulder width, turning his head back to the painting. An alarm went off and he poked his hand into his pocket to look upon a pocket watch. Touching her shoulder gently he indicated the bedroom.

"Come, it's getting late, you need your rest, it's been a long day."

He led her to the room feeling the soft freshly clean sheets opening them up for her to lay in. He walked to his closet looking around a bit. He pulled out a large shirt. It was a gift from one of his fallen comrades who used to joke around with him about "being larger than life." So he bought him an extra large blue and green globe styled t-shirt, much to big for Paulk. He tossed the flimsy earthshirt to the girl, and then a pair of his boxers. "Here you can wear this tonight, I'll have Ariel get you some clothes tomorrow." He said, standing there a moment, then leaving the room for her to change.

Illesi nodded to him and followed, sitting on the bed as he opened the sheets for her. The sheets were soft and cold to the touch, it was comforting. As he tossed her a large shirt and a pair of boxers she blinked at him, wondering what exactly he expected from her. As he turned to leave she held up the large shirt and frowned, the thing was ginormous. Looking at the boxers a red tint came to her face as she picked them up, sure they were clean but one upon a time Paulk wore them. Her heart sped up as she set them down gently. With a slight sigh she stood from the bed and glanced at the door before untying her corset and pulling the strings loose. Sliding the corset over her head she placed it on the bed and then glanced at the door once more before she undid her white dress and let it fall to the floor, taking the large green and blue shirt and pulling it on over her head. She let it it fall over her body and looked at herself and giggled, through the neck hole one of her shoulders nearly came through and the shirt came down to her knees. She was a small girl after all. Illesi wouldnt even need his boxers really, but she slipped them on anyways, She never knew how the shirt would fare in her tossing and turning at night. Folding her dress she set it on the table next to the bed and set her corset on top, sitting on the bed then. Illesi untied the ribbons that wrapped around her legs from her high heels, slipping them off and putting them beside the bed. They made her about 4 inches shorter. Sitting down on the bed again she pulled the shirt over her shoulder from it slipping and looked towards the door "Hey...uhm...Paulk?" She called out to him, waiting for him to come through the door. She was wondering where he was sleeping, she assumed the couch, but she wanted to makes sure he was somewhere where he could guard her.

Paulk was sitting at his desk, flipping through pictures of his time in the rebellion, looking at faces. Faces from his past, some no longer in his present, some turned on him, and some so trustworthy they became leaders in his command. Lost in his memories, smiling, he heard Illesi call for him. He looked up trying to comprehend what he heard, realizing it was her he stood up and made his way to his room.

"Sorry, just taking a trip..." He said, down memory lane, he finished in his own thoughts. Smiling at her he couldn't help but feel his face grow hot looking upon her image. Feeling very aware of his composure, he instinctively stood up straighter, hands behind his back trying to look professional. Letting out a cough he spoke up again. "Well, if you need me.. er anything, the couch out there is a pullout, you can just come join... er get me..." He nodded after his stumbling words and turned to go back to his office room shutting the door behind him.

Illesi watched him come in, instantly seeing the spark in his eye as he looked at her. His face was bright red, which wasnt too easy to miss, Illesi just smiled as he stumbled through his sentence. A light red came to her cheek, the shirt slipping down her shoulder. She watched as he left the room, shifting her position in the bed before turning off the lamp beside the bed. The room grew dark, and Illesi took a deep breath, her eyes glowing as she then pulled the covers onto her and laid her head down onto the pillow. Shivering slightly she pulled her legs up towards the rest of her body, the blankets coming with them. Once she was warm she smiled and closed her eyes, her mind racing about Paulk for a minute or two, his face not leaving her mind's eye. But when her body called it quits, her mind blanked and she fell asleep.
