Black

The future is a bleak place for humanity – forced underground to live in sealed bunkers away from the surface world. But before the Alien's coming the world was as prosperous as is today.

Its coming meant the doom of most of civilisation, only those that lived furthest away from it's point of arrival had the time to develop measures to escape the Alien's coming. And perhaps a weapon to destroy it...

The presence of the Alien was marked by turning substances black, most notably soils such as sand. For it is invisible it was too late to save most people before they fell dead by the Aliens assaults. The being rapidly began to multiply or expand across the world killing those that it could.

Soon people found out how to hide from the danger – if they kept quiet and didn't speak a word they were safe. Once people spoke no matter the language, the Alien attacked – whether it felt human voices were threatening or injuring the creature is unknown. Some animals were also killed by the being but most weren't harmed.

Below the surface they are safe where they can talk and plan how to combat the Alien. Remnants of scientists research remain from what could be gathered.

Now a message has appeared and in a city not far away from one of the bunkers lies a Lab where a weapon lays in wait. For some reason it was never used but perhaps if someone could use it maybe the Alien would be defeated...

During this RP you'll be playing one of the select few that has been chosen. Your character and a group of others (maybe 5 or 6 all up) are on a quest to the city to use the weapon that will destroy the Alien.

Your character should be reasonably fit and young but I won't deny people based on this – though I'd assume most characters will be below 40. Your character may have volunteered to go or they may have been selected to go. Characters can have previous experience on travelling the surface.

Characters will have weapons, however ammunition for any gun will be scarce. I'd recommend at least have a knife or similar blade.

As they characters have been living in the same bunker they may know one another, or at least have seen them about.

I will kill your character if they speak on the surface, read more below.

After the first (and perhaps second) round of posting your character cannot talk inside the IC, I feel that saying this several times in this post is sufficient warning. The RP will feature rounds of posting: After I make a post, everyone else makes a single post (they can opt to not post as well). Then I will post again. Etc.

This RP will not be long, chances of there being side plots are extremely low. Your characters have a very specific purpose.

Okay!

Shadow has been having trouble with his computer of late so it is hard for him to get a post up right now. I think he does stuff on his phone right now which would drive me crazy.

So I'm going to start work on the next post.... probably tomorrow.

For this next round I was thinking that I could start us off by posting us leaving the bunker and surrounding area. Then each of us could post a bit of a montage-y post of the day's travel. With character thoughts and all that jazz for added measure.

I don't have anything planned for this period of walking.

And if you guys think this is a terrible idea we can skip it to us setting up a camp on the outskirts of the city .... by some trees or something.

No, the Black Mist won't kill your character.
It won't have any real affect on your character either, won't make you sick or whatever.

Once the Black stuff rolls over you won't be able to see very far at all.

But you can speak in it!
