"Good night." The dark haired female called as she waved good-bye to their guests and stepped back inside from the balcony. Shutting the two glass French doors she drew the white lace curtains shut and allowed a small sigh to escape her lips. Perhaps now she could finally head to bed, the S'Vellian princess had been wide awake since the crack of dawn when her maid - Doretta - had shaken her awake, going on about how her family had guests coming to visit. The lord and lady from some province that wasn't too far away but still a day's trip or so, considering how slow the noble traveled in their carriages.

That had been a good six hours ago or so? And yet here she was sitting up in her bed unable to fall asleep - it wasn't how she had wanted her night to go. She covered her mouth and yawned as her gaze fell to the small ornate clock sitting upon her desk. The time now read five after one and she shook her head in disbelief.

"This is absolutely ridiculous," She muttered to herself as she stood up and approached the mirror. Enough light could be seen within the bedroom to give her a view of her reflection. The nineteen year old had never had been vain in regard to her appearance and frowned as she ran a hairbrush through her hair. If she was going to be up she might as well have something to do with her time.

It wasn't often that she had heard complaints about the princess Soquira Valisari's appearance - apparently she was lovely as any princess should have been - still though she couldn't help to continue to frown at herself in the mirror. Her black hair fell to her waist in waves and tangled far too easily much to her dismay, though it contrasted well with her pale flesh, seemingly flawless aside from a small mole located directly underneath her right eye. Oh and of course, many didn't know about the three - nonetheless - small moles located on her left hip. Her figure was well curved though she was rather small for her age as most thought. She stood approximately 5'5 and weighed around 115 lbs. Tiny compared to other women she had met, as was her chest in her opinion.

Turning away from the mirror she opened the curtains before walking outside. Her hands rest on the balcony as she looked over the castle garden with an expression of mild boredom. She never had really had issues with insomnia growing up but as of late it had been horrible.

The crisp night air met his uncovered patches of skin like an arrow to a shield. It had no effect on him even though his hairs were standing up. Most of his body was coverred by his own assassin armor. It was a light, leather-like armor, with studs on the end, for distraction, and protection.

Kagé watched as a guard yawned, and rubbed his eyes. The guard fell dead a moment later, and his accomplice appeared over the dead guard. They nodded to each other, and Kagé (Known as Levias by his acquaintances) jumped over to the other male clad in dark assassin's robes and armor. Kagé patted the other's shoulder once, then patted his own chest, pointing to the windows. This was code for You and me, enter in there, then split up to complete the mission. The other nodded, and followed Levias as they jumped towards the window.

The other Assassin (Known as Kyto) pulled out a small tool, and pressed it against teh bottom of the glass, then slid it around. The glass popped out of place silently, and Kagé held it up. Kyto got it, then Kagé followed, but slid the window back into place. Someone would only notice if they tried to clean or shine the colored pane of glass. Kagé and Kyto nodded to each other, before jumping up into seperate rafters.

Kagé smelt something using his very sensitive nose. All Assassin's were trained to have superior senses in general. It smelled like a royal's perfume and/or cologne. He scowled as the king walked by, slightly drunken steps being taken by him and his mistress.

Kagé continued his path towards his target's room. On the way, he passed a gated room. Curious... He lowered himself on the stone walls using his tough, yet silent boots. He picked the locks easily, and the gates mechanism activated. It opened the gate. Levias gazed inside, and instantly saw something that made his eye glint in longing.

It couldn't be...That's the blade I lost a few years ago... He thought, looking around. The sword was a good twenty feet away from him. He extended his hand, and a dark hand extended rapidly from his palm. The sword was brought to his hand by the shadow. The sword was a dark, deep blue, with a tint of emerald when the moonlight caught it. Levias instantly placed it inside of the empty scabbard that lay on his belt, throwing his own brand new, adamantine weapon into the room.

Continuing on his journey, he still marveled at how they had found his weapon. He had lost it in a rivalling kingdom. Then his eyes sparked in recognition. They must have raided it. He thought, before he looked down to a door that was both elegant and ornate. He dropped from the dark rafters, to the dimly lit hallways, and opened the door without a sound, using his shadow hands.

There she was. His target. Staring out into the Castle's courtyard/garden. He didn't smirk at the simplicity of his success. He knew there was no such thing as an easy mission. He slowly and silently creppt towards her. His body was low, and hunched almost as he made his center of mass create an advantage if she saw him. Then she turned around. Her eyes stopped him. They looked ordinary, but to an Assassin, ordinary was always so much more than that. She looked surprised. Levias jumped up, and did a sideways flip over her, before landing behind her, and pulling a punch-dagger to her throat. "Don't. Say. A word..." He hissed hoarsely, using his magically disguised voice.

Soquira froze as she felt the blade touch the skin of her throat. She certainly hadn't expected this figure - assassin she now guessed correctly, to pop out into the open so easily. Most would have called it an idiotic move but if he had made it this far she was certain he had to have a brain hidden somewhere. She followed his advice and kept extremely still and said nothing though goosebumps had now risen upon her flesh and her emerald green eyes had widened considerably.

It seemed as though time was dragging by though she knew it could hardly have been more than a few seconds in reality. Never before in her life had she ever needed to rely on such quick thinking. There was no doubt he could slit her throat in an instant in her current position and leave her for dead on the balcony tiles. If he had gotten to her guards or if he had an accomplice - or more - it was possible that nobody would find her until morning and there was the risk of putting her family in danger. She knew full well that if she screamed the consequences would not bode well.

Panic was threatening to overcome her. There really was not much that she could do in this situation. Dammit stay calm Soquira, she told herself as took a deep breath. There was a dagger she kept under her mattress - her father had insisted upon it at the start of the war, in case of a situation like this - but it was too far away now.

She wasn't certain of herself as she spoke now. She had no idea how the assassin would react. Would he be amused? Or would he decide to just to get the show done and over with?

"Do it." She spoke in nearly a whisper, "Don't hesitate. If you're going to kill me, act like a man and get it the hell over with."

"Do it, Don't hesitate. If you're going to kill me, act like a man and get it the hell over with."

Levias looked down to her slightly, as if asking Why do you wish to give your life so quickly?' He did want to ask, but an Assassin's job was not to know, it was to act upon foreign knowledge.

Her eyes...

The doors crashed open, and Kyto was thrown onto the ground by a group of three guards, who were followed in by seven more. Levias growled, and looked at his closest friend on the floor, bleeding in several different places. He extended a hand, and a Shadow hand came out and gripped the Princess' neck, before pinning her on the wall. "Back up or she Dies!" He yelled in rage. Kyto looked up fearfully. If Kagé was like this, Bad things would happen.

The guards obeyed quietly, still holding their weapons warily. Levias walked up to Kyto, whom was nearly choking. One of the guards who carried a war-hammer had smashed it into his ribs. "Live like a Shadow..." Kyto said in a hoarse voice, repeating the vow of a skilled assassin. "And Die inside of it..." Levias finished. Kyto nodded, and his head fell back, with one final breath.

He was now truly Kagé. He drew his blade, and rammed it through the soldier with the hammer, before spinning and slicing two soldier's necks open. The screams of pain filled the room. One solder came from his right, and another from his left. He didn't notice the archer in front of him until after he dispatched the side-to-side guards of their legs and arms. The arrow sunk into his left hand like a hot knife through butter.

They were so...

Levias growled, and ripped it out, throwing it at the archer's eye-split in his helmet. The man was tearing it out of his own eye a moment later, screaming about being blind. The blood soaked out of the man's face, draining it of color. Levias pushed him down witha small wave of shadow's, before that small wave grew, and swirled around Kagé. He pushed it out, throwing all the guards around him around the circular room.

The guards crashed into random furniture, and demolished the stone walls with any metal plating they wore. One even busted through a weak part of a wall. Levias turned to the door as more guards filed in. He dropped the shadow hand on the Princess, and jumped back out to the balcony, grabbing onto another guard as he leaped, and throwing the man down before landing on top of him int he courtyard. "You damn liars!" Levias yelled, before jumping around the courtyard until he found his way up the roof. Archer's were constantly shooting at him. His cloak was torn in a few places, but he was fine. He jumped off of the roof of the castle, and disappeared with small ghost-like shriek and a wave of darkness that spread like a cloud in the night.
