-The Story-
Underneath the veil of the Tons (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ton_%28le_bon_ton%29) social scrutiny England's year is 1814, a time of riches, greed, and ultimately the rise in stature. This duly noted; the expectant scene is full of magnificent parties where every debutante is making her way into the courtship of a wealthy marriage and life full of adultery. Of course it isn't all so ominous, because these parties, tea gatherings, and weddings are beautiful. This beauty could not be established without the many expensive dresses shown off, china displayed at dinner, and the rare jewels designed to compliment the person wearing them.
Among the debutantes is the five close friends who have, for the past three years since coming out together in an extravagant party at age fifteen, make up a group well known around London and the surrounding countryside. Sticking together at parties they have flirted with many suitors, and have rejected just as many offers for marriage. They were the key to any debutantes coming out ball. Without one of the five in attendance, a girl's popularity would drop and many unfortunates had been forced into marriage with pastor's or a dutiful life as a governess.
The Five were regal in posture, beautiful, and possessed a charming grace that even men envied their position. Some would call them snooty, coarse, and untouchable. But underneath the snide glances and their pert noses in the air; they had a secret.
They were all the kindest con artists in all of England. Each girl had a charity she donated a monthly large sum too. Anonymously of course, signing the letters bearing the money with simple initials.
R.H. For Robin Hood.
Using their popularity to stake out jewels, antiques, and even at times the tapestries weaved with gold the girls develop a plan to steal their targets. Once stolen, usually in the dead of night, but easier at larger parties, the girls used their underground trading connections to get money for the treasures. Keeping a mere tiny profit for themselves, the rest went to the charity of their choice.
But something is going awry in their easy going world. Lately, the girls have had some competition. Ideal items were disappearing before the girls had time to steal them and a few times it happened right under their noses! It was obvious that this competitor knew about them, because it seemed to know a lot of their plans on how to undergo a steal'. Who was this mysterious mischief maker? And what would happens if he/she released information about the girls?
Life in the spotlight just got a little interesting for these five Robin Hoods.
-The Situation.-
-Even though the five girl will be lead characters, that doesn't mean they have to steal the scene. Any other character is acceptable. Men, women, other girls, investigators. Be creative.
-Where this story ends up depends on the roleplay and players. It is not pre-set. Things can change at anytime.
-The mystery thief will have to be interviewed for because it is an important role, so multiple character sheets will be reviewed for the position.
-No age limit on characters.
-Keep in Era Friendly. It is 1814. King George the 3rd is King. His son Prince Regent George the Fourth a.k.a Prinny, attends parties a lot. He is very flamboyant.
-Have fun. Posts are one paragraph minimum.
