It was the late 25th Century. Mankind had made its mark in the galaxy. Warp speed had been finally fine tuned and was massively in use to explore the furthest corner of the galaxy. Various companies, spread out over five system, were vying to earn their share of cash through exploration and colonization. But along with exploration, came the threat of what else might be out there. Humanity lust for exploration and expansion had angered two specific alien empires: the Kardun and the Liras.
Not much is known about them, except that the one has a tendency of destroying anything that opposes them, while the other revels in scaring and slowly finishing their enemies.
Now it would happen that a new habitable planet in a system about two-hundred parsec from earth has appeared in recon flights. And naturally, the vying companies want to secure that planet for their benefit. But seeing as the planet is also right in between the borders of the Kardun and Liras empire, there will be armed forces joining them.
Only question is: Will they aim their guns against a military, or an economical enemy?

Jumping out of warpspeed, Explorer C85, a large recon spaceship appeared in the Gardeon System, nearing the brown planet Teridan. The planet had shown signals to be very fruitful for colonisation and thus the CnC colonisation company sent in one of their fastest ships to claim the planet before their competition would beat them to it. Inside the large vessel, an siren sounded.
"Attention all personel. Attention all personel. Strike teams Gamma and Delta are to report at Deck 3B. Dropship crew requested. Repeat. Strike teams Gamma and Delta are to report at Deck 3B. Dropship crew requested."
Daniel groaned, pushing himself up from his bed, rubbing his eyes out. He was trying to catch up with some sleep, having had to work night shifts to fix some issues with his rifle. The siren was like the sound of the devil. Daniel shuddered as he sat up in his bed, trying desperately to wake up, although his body and mind told him to get down and fall back asleep.
Eventually, he managed to get up and heave himself into his jumpsuit. Checking if his suit functioned well, he would grab his rifle and helmet, keeping the latter below his arm as he stepped out of his cabin into the metallic corridor. Looking around lost, he tried to recall where to go. "Deck... Deck... Deck 3... 3B! Right." He nodded to himself and headed down the hallway, his metallic boots sounding on the metal floor.
Eventually, he'd reach the elevator, pressing one of the buttons to call it over. Waiting patiently for a few seconds, before the doors opened up into a modern elevator cabin. Dialing in the code for Deck 3B, he'd let the elevator soar through the vessel, following horizontal and vertical routes to get to its destination, although the elevator would first make some other stops to pick up crew or other team members. Seeing as the elevator would take its time, he closed his eyes to enjoy his last few moments of rest.
