It was the late 25th Century. Mankind had made its mark in the galaxy. Warp speed had been finally fine tuned and was massively in use to explore the furthest corner of the galaxy. Various companies, spread out over five system, were vying to earn their share of cash through exploration and colonization. But along with exploration, came the threat of what else might be out there. Humanity lust for exploration and expansion had angered two specific alien empires: the Kardun and the Liras.
Not much is known about them, except that the one has a tendency of destroying anything that opposes them, while the other revels in scaring and slowly finishing their enemies.

Now it would happen that a new habitable planet in a system about two-hundred parsec from earth has appeared in recon flights. And naturally, the vying companies want to secure that planet for their benefit. But seeing as the planet is also right in between the borders of the Kardun and Liras empire, there will be armed forces joining them.

Only question is: Will they aim their guns against a military, or an economical enemy?

Jumping out of warpspeed, Explorer C85, a large recon spaceship appeared in the Gardeon System, nearing the brown planet Teridan. The planet had shown signals to be very fruitful for colonisation and thus the CnC colonisation company sent in one of their fastest ships to claim the planet before their competition would beat them to it. Inside the large vessel, an siren sounded.

"Attention all personel. Attention all personel. Strike teams Gamma and Delta are to report at Deck 3B. Dropship crew requested. Repeat. Strike teams Gamma and Delta are to report at Deck 3B. Dropship crew requested."

Daniel groaned, pushing himself up from his bed, rubbing his eyes out. He was trying to catch up with some sleep, having had to work night shifts to fix some issues with his rifle. The siren was like the sound of the devil. Daniel shuddered as he sat up in his bed, trying desperately to wake up, although his body and mind told him to get down and fall back asleep.
Eventually, he managed to get up and heave himself into his jumpsuit. Checking if his suit functioned well, he would grab his rifle and helmet, keeping the latter below his arm as he stepped out of his cabin into the metallic corridor. Looking around lost, he tried to recall where to go. "Deck... Deck... Deck 3... 3B! Right." He nodded to himself and headed down the hallway, his metallic boots sounding on the metal floor.

Eventually, he'd reach the elevator, pressing one of the buttons to call it over. Waiting patiently for a few seconds, before the doors opened up into a modern elevator cabin. Dialing in the code for Deck 3B, he'd let the elevator soar through the vessel, following horizontal and vertical routes to get to its destination, although the elevator would first make some other stops to pick up crew or other team members. Seeing as the elevator would take its time, he closed his eyes to enjoy his last few moments of rest.

Sandra rushed around, grabbing all the crap she needed for this day. She was stumbling to get her jumpsuit on, knocking things over in her small sized room in the meantime. She had woken up late to the bell, she didn't know why she didn't hear it, she just didn't today. She stayed up late that night, so that's why was like the walking dead in the morning. She fixed her jumpsuit together and ran outa her room, her boots clanging against the metal floor as she ran to meet the elevator. Hopefully she'd catch it.

She raced down the hall, as fast as she could run in a metal bulky suit. She saw the elevator closing, and shoved her hand inbetween it, making it reopen. She colected herself, ran a hand through her spiked hair, stood up straight, and stepped into the elevator. The elevator that Daniel was in.

(My posts arn't usually this short, I'll just need to get a feel for the RP.)

Daniel's eyes shot straight open as the sudden hand between the door startled him, blinking as he saw the doors open to reveal the girl. Tilting his head, he tried to recall her name from his memory. As lieutenant, he was forced to know the names of all team members. He eyed her up and down to try and link the distinctive features together. Eventually, he sighed relieved as the girl stepped in, remembering her name.

"Late night, Sandra?" He smirked, closing his eyes again as he leaned back, holding his helmet with the lieutenant insignia below his arm. He was hoping that his own exhaustion wouldn't be too noticable, especially not to someone he was just about to tease with being sleepy herself.
As the elevator doors closed, he'd open his eyes again to peer up and down the girl, inspecting her outfit, though he didn't even know why himself, and shaked his head quickly after realising that.

"Suppose you would have liked it if the warp travel lasted a day longer, eh?"
He snickered silently, even though he would have liked two extra days himself, which quickly caused his snickering to die out.

Sandra ran her hand threw her hair, spiking it up, even though she'd just end up putting the helmet on, which would squish it down. But, oh well, she still had about a minute before her hair would be squished. She looked at Daniel as he began speaking to her, almost not noticing that there was someone in the elevator with her.

"Oh, hey. I don't know why, I barely heard the alarm this morning. It was strange." She said with a shrug. She adjusted her arms that were holding her helmet. Their helmets were so bulky it was awkward to hold in anyones arms. "I'm hitting the sack early tonight." She said, then rested her body against the inside of the elevator.

"Tell me about it." She said with to him, rubbing her face. "Here we go again." She said, getting ready to step out of the elevator. She heard it stop and braced herself for what would be outside.

Daniel laughed, patting Sandra on the shoulder as the elevator came close to its destination. "I'm not sure if we'll get that chance tonight." He smiled teasingly at her, before stepping out of the elevator as it arrived, stepping onto the shuttle deck, where their other team members were arriving aswell. One of the team members made a saluting gesture to Daniel. "Lieutenant!" Daniel waved his hand at the man as a way of saying to drop the formalities. "So... The captain anywhere in sight yet?" Everyone shaked their head. "He's on his way from the bridge." Daniel nodded as he glanced around to look at shuttles. They were special vessels, capable to hold up to six men, designed for quick land-and-deploy actions, mostly in use in warzones or unexplored territory. He then turned around to face Sandra, smirking at her. "Think you'll be alright without being able to sleep tonight?"

Sandra stepped out after Daniel and looked around. She was kinda new at this. Well, she'd been dealing with this for a little while, but not as long as Daniel. She kinda tended to just follow him, instead of going around by herself, because she'd probably screw something up.

When Daniel asked about the captain she swung her head around, looking for any side of him, but, then they all said he was on his way. Sandra shifted her helmet in her hands again, wanting to put it down, but apparently it was frowned upon and it was 'rude' or something. She didn't really care though, but, in front of everyone, she wasn't about to rest that on the ground.

She looked at Daniel when he spoke to her, blinking a few times, because she hadn't really been paying attention. "You betcha. Yayy..." She said sarcastically, but had a small smile on her face. She knew she would probably be up all night tonight. Oh well, that was life now.

Daniel smirked, before glancing over to the elevators as an already fully armed man stepped, already wearing his helm. "Good morning, captain." The man scoffed, walking over to the group. "With all that warp travelling, I wouldn't know what night or morning would be." The group laughed a bit, before standing up and sliding their helmets on, which Daniel did aswell.

"So, sir. What's the objective?" The captain gestured over to an almos fully prepared vessel. "Drop and secure. Simple as that." He was always a man of few words, and that's how most preferred him to be. As the captain headed to the shuttle and stepped on board, everybody else followed him on board. "Rick. You're piloting." "Copy that, sir." A young voice called out, after which one of the men jumped into the pilot's seat. Daniel took place in one of the backseats, leaning back against the back of his seat.

A robotic voice came through the speaker inside the shuttle. "Drop ship CL-302. Check all shuttle systems." The man in the pilot's seat turned on the shuttle's systems one by one, before the hatch door of the shuttle closed up, the oxygen filters kicked into gear and the hatch door in front of the shuttle opened up, showing the planet they were headed for, surrounding by a dark, star covered space. "CL-302. You are cleared for take off." "Copy that, control." The shuttle's engines would roar to life, the entire thing shaking as it rose up from the deck, retracting its landing gear, before blasting off out of the hangar, rapidly making its descend to the planet surface. Daniel would glance over to Sandra to make sure she was doing alright.
