This large sprawling tower of clockwork is my self-built academy, a place where we can train some of the finest fighters we've seen. The living quarters house a delightful array of heroes wielding might or magic, the full list below for your express reference.

When not in combat, or wandering into the stories of others, they reside here training themselves for future fights of all kinds, under any conditions. Detailed information on each will be available in each subsequent post in this topic over the next few days as time permits.

Click the names for direct links to their profile post if it's available. Also posted are records from fights on other boards, most of which I no longer have the logs for after a recent virus rather heftily destroyed my files (I keep backups now fyi). I also set up the counter for their records here, so comparisons can be made.

Antheia Dorridie - Physical Description
---------------------------------------
I should introduce you all to the first of many valiant fighters to reside here in my Academy. She's a talented Necromancer, as even a Lich attested to, despite being Human. She's also no stranger to fighting, having come from another roleplaying universe where she also engaged in a fair few duels, increasing in skill as she did so.

Her full name is Antheia Nevila Gei Dorrdie, and she's still a child, now of 11 years. As expected, her inexperience is still present even to now. This most often displays itself in her spells "fizzling", or, failing to work, despite her expending the magical energy needed to cast them. This will be eliminated with practice for sure.

As would be expected of a child as well, she's small and quite fragile, this only exaggerated by her magical specialization. She is however very average physically for a child her age. When standing on her tip-toes, she's at five feet and one inch, and looks to be close to ninety-five pounds.

One feature many who meet her take note of is her eyes. A very pleasing but unnatural heterochromatic combination of yellow and blue. The coloration was a result of a magical mishap at her tutor's hands, a spell gone awry. In a last ditch effort to save her eyesight, he cast a dangerous spell that left them permanently colored.

Fortunately, that magical mishap did not tamper with her hair, which remains it's natural blonde, flowing to mere inches below her shoulders. The cut it has does keep the bangs out of her eyes, which is always needed when in battle, for sight is then a priority in most cases.

---------------------------------------
Antheia Dorridie - Preferred Attire (Battle or Otherwise)
---------------------------------------
Antheia has always worn the same outfit since joining my Academy. Despite many talented designers attempting to craft her more variety, she rejects their proposals. I figure it's because her outfit is dear to her, holding mementos from her mentor.

In description, it's a sleeveless dress in a red not unlike blood in color that extends to just below her knees. It's quality is very excellent, and is comprised of many fine and expensive threads. Magical runes weaved within also seem to grant her an additional conduit to channel magical energy with increased efficiency.

A not quite overdone black frill trim garners the lower half of the dress, three rows of it in fact. They seem to be only for decoration however. Her arms are protected by a sleeveless glove design that extends to about six inches above her elbow. They are colored to match her dress, and seem to serve the very important purpose of protecting her delicate hands and arms from any possible spell backfires, which are common given her age and inexperience.

To compliment her dress, she has plain solid black stockings, and buckled black dress shoes, which we argue are rather impractical in combat (she disagrees). She finishes the look with a white collar adorning her neck, along with the attached black bonnet (with red ribbons hanging from it to boot) and the black bow.

---------------------------------------
Antheia Dorridie - Weapons
---------------------------------------
Being a magic specialist, she possesses but one weapon in her spellbook, a ruler by 10 inch sized inch thick tome of magic known only as Spellwringer. It is a very ineffective mode of attack though, as the damage per second from a book of any kind is always relatively low.

From what I've observed, Spellwringer's greatest asset lies in its unique enchantment. It slowly saps magical knowledge from opponents she faces in battle, leading to the loss of the ability to cast spells they would know otherwise. More spells are lost as the battle continues, ever increasing the odds into her favor.

---------------------------------------
Antheia Dorridie - Spells/Abilities
---------------------------------------
Now, for her spells, she has a lot of them. As per my Academy regulations, in concordance with the rules of this site of battle, she is required to display her entire book. Her spells primarily come in three flavors of stances, offensive, defensive, and supportive.

I also gave the Flavor Text on each spell straight from her book, only translating what needs to be described for easier reading (as everything she wrote is in a rhyme).

Offensive - These Spells Focus on Dealing Damage to Her Adversaries.

Spell: Dark Stars
Duration: Instant
Drain Per Cast: 10%
Cooldown: 1 Attack Phase

Flavor Text: Many orbs of energy glow, right in front of all my foes. With a wave of my hand, orbs attack them on command.

The Professor's Description: In her initiation battle, Antheia demonstrated this one. She creates several orbs of dark magical energy that she then launches at her foe. From my observations, contrary to what her rhyme might state, they do not hound their targets, but rather, have a bizarre and lofty bouncing trajectory.

Spell: Paranoia
Duration: 4 Attack Phases
Drain Per Cast: 60%
Cooldown: 10 Attack Phases

Flavor Text: All of us have hidden fears, some it's bugs, others sneers. When I cast this spell of night, all their fears now come to light.

The Professor's Description: When I had Antheia demonstrate this spell to me, I was not expecting at all what happened. She made the entire local area grow extremely dark. I could not see further than a foot in front of me, only spotting the glow of her magical eyes in the darkness. Furthermore, her voice filled my head with lots of vague and rather terrifying whispers, and images of my worst fears popped into my mind.

When the effect ended, I was rather glad I wasn't in a fight with her. Apparently, the same darkness blinds allies too, but she chooses her targets that she plants the whispers and terrors inside.

Spell: Harmful Touch
Type: Touch
Duration: Varies
Drain Per Cast: Varies
Cooldown: None

Flavor Text: None can flee death's creeping grasp, but some try running really fast. When they run up close to me, no longer will they breathe.

The Professor's Description: Through some form of physical contact, Antheia seems able to directly drain her magical energy to deal an rather large, and possibly equal, amount of damage to her target. The act of her draining her foe is not a pretty sight, suffice to say.

Defensive - These Spells Focus on Defense Against Her Adversaries.

Spell: Boneward
Duration: 10 Attack Phases
Drain Per Cast: 20%
Cooldown: 10 Attack Phases

Flavor Text: Bones and flesh from the brave, now visit their earthly grave. With a small wave of my hand, attacks for me they now withstand.

The Professor's Description: Antheia places a large shield of bones around herself that deflects most attacks against her (from our tests anyways).

Spell: Sunder
Duration: Instant
Drain Per Cast: 40%
Cooldown: 10 Attack Phases

Flavor Text: What follows death is decay, but this is not always the case. With this spell I turn it 'round, and slowly break their weapons down.

The Professor's Description: Antheia demonstrated this for me when I questioned her on it. It appears she takes her knowledge of death and decay to concentrate a burst of magical energy that can directly damage one item. In battles, this would likely be a piece of equipment the target may have, be it armor, weapons, or items of various kinds. I will say that the dummy amulet we provided her cracked rather spectacularly.

Spell: Cryptwalk
Duration: Instant
Drain Per Cast: 10% (+5% more each subsequent cast. Casting any other spell in-between Cryptwalks resets this value.)
Cooldown: 1 Attack Phase

Flavor Text: With assistance from the dead, quickly I travel up ahead. Cursed ground left in my wake, harms opponents who dare give chase.

The Professor's Description: Antheia quickly teleports to a location a short distance away. She seems limited to about six yards in any direction, but it is an immediate repositioning of her being. She tells me that repeated Cryptwalks do tire her to an extreme amount, so I don't see her abusing this too much. She does leave a small embedded tombstone behind at her old location, and approaching it made me feel fatigued, dizzy, and sick to my stomach.

Support - These Spells Focus on Supporting Antheia and Allies.

Spell: Conjure Shackles
Duration: Until Shackles is Slain
Drain Per Cast: All
Cooldown: 30 Attack Phases

Flavor Text: Come forth Shackles, my best friend, with me to the very end. Together we both can endure, then our victory is assured.

The Professor's Description: Antheia apparently befriended a skeleton. He is one large and intimidating dead guy, and spawns with a full set of armor. He also generally spawns with a sword and shield, and can apparently use abilities of his own. He possesses glowing eyes as well, and is unaffected by Antheia's Paranoia when it is in effect.

Spell: Dark Renewal
Duration: Until Interrupted
Drain Per Cast: No Cost
Cooldown: 30 Attack Phases

Flavor Text: Once all out of magical energy, then the spirits call to me. With their timely arrival and gift, a complete renewal to uplift.

The Professor's Description: Antheia gathers energy from somewhere, restoring her condition, physically and magically, to an almost pristine state, as if she was never in a fight. She can channel for as long as she wants provided she isn't interrupted.

Spell: Puppet Master
Duration: 4 Attack Phases
Drain Per Cast: 80%
Cooldown: 20 Attack Phases

Flavor Text: When the target is much too strong, turn that strength into a song. Their hymn of power will let us know, that they're much too strong for our foe.

The Professor's Description: Antheia demonstrated this one to me. Apparently, she attempts to wrest control of her target's mind with magic, so she can commandeer them as if they were a marionette. The chance of success is directly dependent upon how well her target can resist her influence.

---------------------------------------
Antheia Dorridie - Attributes
---------------------------------------

Necromancy: Her profession is a rather eerie one, but should anything die during a battle, Antheia can reanimate the fallen to help her as an ally. After 10 Attack Phases, the reanimated creature will "die" again. She doesn't seem like she can sustain more than 1 Reanimated Creature at a single time.

Fizzle Effect: As part of her inexperience still, she sometimes has trouble with her spells. All of Antheia's spells have a roughly 1 in 10 chance of fizzling, which means it still costs her the magical energy needed to cast the spell, but for little to no effect.

Spellwringer: That spellbook is radiating powerful magic. Throughout a match, Antheia's spellbook slowly saps the magical knowledge possessed by her opponent. Overtime, they'll potentially forget how to cast some of their spells, with more spells being affected the longer the battle drags on.

Magic Recovery Rate: Antheia seems to naturally recharge her magical energy, possibly due to what was stitched into her clothes. She seems to restore roughly 10% Per Attack Phase.

---------------------------------------
Shackles - Skills
---------------------------------------

Ability: Cleave
Duration: Until Switched to Parry
Cooldown: 1 Attack Phrase

The Professor's Description: I got to watch Shackles battle the other day. For a skeleton, he's surprisingly good. He seems to alternate between two different fighting stances. For the one he was using more, Shackles adopted an offensive stance and started swinging his sword at increased speed, seeingly in an attempt to cleave the target in some fashion.

Ability: Parry
Duration: Until Switched to Cleave
Cooldown: 1 Attack Phrase

The Professor's Description: Shackles' other stance has him adopt a defensive posture and battle style, bringing his shield up to parry attacks, possibly disarming the foe if he's lucky.

Ability: Dishearten
Duration: Instant
Cooldown: 5 Attack Phases

The Professor's Description: Shackles cackles most terrifyingly, aiming to paralyze his opponents through fear. Those who were stricken in the battle I watched could not take any action during their next Attack Phase.

Ability: Grim Advance
Duration: 4 Attack Phases
Cooldown: 20 Attack Phases

The Professor's Description: Shackles advances with great focus on a single foe, becoming largely resistant, if not outright immune, to all attacks and effects from anyone other than the target he is focusing on, if what I observed was correct. I also noticed that while the ability is in effect, all his attacks against that target tap their life energy, and add it to his. Shackles isn't fast though, so it's pretty easy to stay out of his reach until the effect ends (which is given away by his sword losing the black aura around it).

---------------------------------------
Shackles - Attributes
---------------------------------------

Thick Bones: Shackles is made out of a sturdy structure of bones, granting him a resistance against conventional weapons. Magic has a slightly increased effect though, which I assume is partially because of his creation.

---------------------------------------
Antheia Dorridie - Personality
---------------------------------------

Antheia is very quiet and calm, even in the face of extreme apprehension. This helps her in battles to remain collected and unfazed, even in the event her foe is far larger, more powerful, or simply more experienced then her. She does have a slightly malicious and spiteful side that readily becomes apparent when she's battling an opposing wizard or paladin.

---------------------------------------
Antheia Dorridie - History
---------------------------------------

Now, for the last part, her history. I managed to uncover a bit of her past.

She was born to a non-wealthy family, who made ends meet off of her father's and mother's secret profession, which was stealing riches from the wizards of the land, taking their spoils and pawning them off. She spent large amounts of time alone at home, much to her chagrin. But this thievery was how her family got by.

Unfortunately, one wizard discovered a mistake her father had made during a heist, and using this mistake, he was able to deduce who the culprits were. Together with a few of his friends, he tracked down her parents and disposed of them while she hid in a closet. She was three on this fateful day.

By chance, the wizards combed the house to see if any of their precious items stolen were in the house. They recovered a lot of it, but they also discovered Antheia in the closet, surrounded by several powerful magical artifacts that were buried away with the great Archmage Opasir-Dins. The wizards took the girl along with the artifacts, as she wouldn't dare leave the staff alone, obsessed immensely with it.

It was here she spent three years more learning the magical trades and secrets from the wizards, further developing her immense power speculated to be a result of her parents and herself constantly being around magical artifacts, exposed to their power. Just as she was making excellent progress, the wizards were raided by rogue necromancers they chased away long ago. These necromancers burned the entire town down and took everything, including Antheia, with them.

When they returned to their current encampment, they had to decide what to do with the child. She was clearly skilled at magic, thanks to the wizards, so sacrificing her wasn't an option, but she was Human, so teaching her the arts of necromancy was otherwise forbidden. It was one Lich who took the challenge. He saw her potential and took her in as his pupil. Grandmaster Ricit was the most renowned necromancer in the league of them, having ascertained his lichhood long ago.

With this power, he trained her carefully for five more years, honing her skills, granting her whatever she needed, and painting himself and the other necromancers as brothers and sisters for her. Through his training, she grew to have a large hatred towards wizards, especially once she learned they killed her parents. Motivated, she studied harder, and learned the best tricks of the trade from other renowned necromancers, finally culminating in her receiving a final assignment.

She is to perform a difficult and elaborate ritual to resurrect the brother of her mentor, Grandmaster Ricit, and to do this, she discovered she needed a lot of soul energy and magical power. It is this goal that brings her to the arena, for she believes that she can both kill wizards, and harness magical and soul energy obtained from others she battles. Two birds with one stone.

When she decided to do this, Ricit didn't let her leave empty handed. He provided her with her specially tailored outfit, and her powerful spellbook, an artifact in it's own right. Now he supports her through constant letters exchanged by way of crows, each letter containing advice or a trinket of some kind.

To her, this arena thing is just another task in her path to completing her training under Grandmaster Ricit, and possibly obtaining the secrets to ascertaining lichhood herself.
