Alrighty, here's my first character, gettin ready for the arena

Name: Artemis Soth

Age: 22

Gender: Human

Build: Medium build, stands at 6 feet with very little body fat, he is well toned but looks lithe.

Hair: Artemis has brown hair that reaches down to the tops of his ears and wears it in a messy style, looking unkempt but in that cool looking way

Eyes: Artemis's eyes are hazel, but the green tends to dominate the brown in them, so they will sometimes look green.

Distinctive Features: Artemis has a scar that goes across his left arm, on the outside of his bicep, as well as several scars on his face from old cuts (Basically, he looks like he's battleworn)

Clothes: Artemis typically wears tight fitting clothes, tunics that fit him closely, as well as pants that don't flap in the wind or anything like that. In addition, he wears light, a light chainmail vest and over that another shirt. All of his clothes are earth toned, so a lot of brown in his outfit. He wears a single ring on his left hand, index finger. It's a simple gold band, with a small emerald set in it. The ring has a slight enchantment on it that allows Artemis to use it to heal small wounds (slight cuts, bruises, and it briefly [for about five minutes] will give him a burst of energy, which leaves him twice as drained as he was before he used the ring, but the energy can be regained if he eats tons of food. He also wears leather bracers on both of his hands that allow his hands to move more rapidly (which also can be put on his legs, making him run/move more quickly [about 2x faster than normal]) and a leather strap that wraps over his left shoulder and goes across his body to his right hip.

Weapons: Artemis carries a single sword, crafted especially for his hand. The blade is longsword-like in nature, but can be wielded with a single hand and has an unusually long hilt. This is because the there is a jewel set in the hilt that acts as a button which, when pressed, releases a 5 foot chain that is coiled up inside. The chain has no enchantments, but on the end is a small, but heavy, counterweight with a hook on the end of it. In the strap around his shoulder, there are two long daggers sheathed, both enchanted to do different things and both with hooks identical to the one on the chain. The top dagger has the ability to paralyze an opponent for about 3 seconds if they are struck by it, and the second dagger is vampiric in nature, using the other person as a conduit to funnel energy into Artemis. The daggers have a set number of charges they run through before becoming normal daggers, the number for which is three. Each charge takes one day to be reusable so to recharge if you want to get all three charges back, you'd need to wait three days. He also has hand to hand combat skills, being a master in Tang Soo Do, an Okinawan martial art that is similar to kickboxing in actual fighting moves, but with a bit more finesse.

Other Abilities (strengths): Artemis can withstand temperatures your average human couldn't, due to his training, (he can't withstand say, a fireball, but if things were to become freezing around him, or if the temperature was in the hundreds, he could stand it and keep on fighting) is extremely acrobatic and agile, and has an extremely keen eye (He's got good aim when it comes to throwing things and such)

Other Abilities (weaknesses): Artemis becomes extremely nervous if he hears bells, loud whistles, or anything that sounds remotely like a banshee's keen (a roaring crowd doesn't sound like a banshee's keen to him). Also, he is an extremely honorable fighter. If he disarms an enemy, he will either let him go retrieve it or drop his own and fight hand to hand. He will not rise to taunts about himself, but any taunt about his own mother sends him into a violent, unthinking rage, during which, he kinda just swings blindly.

Personality: Artemis, as mentioned above, is extremely honorable, never wanting to fight in an unfair fight. However, when fighting on even terms, he gives everything he has to every conflict he is in. He follows a strict guideline, a code if you will, of discipline and is very knight-like in nature (Chivalrous, brave, etc.) He is a bit gruff at times, but is kind and loyal to everyone he calls a friend.

Background: Artemis was born to an extremely poor family. He lived in a hut with his mother, his father, and one other brother. The father was a drunk and had a lot of gambling debt and when his son was 5 years old, he sold the boy to a slave trader, who sold Artemis to the Arena (different arena, since I'm sure our arena doesn't condone slave labor) where he cleaned and cooked for the gladiators there. Eventually he began training as a gladiator himself and ended up winning his freedom during a bout. When he left, he discovered that he had become so used to a life spent in the arena that he just couldn't give it up, so he traveled the world, looking for strong people to fight. During his travels, he was set upon by a banshee, which brutally scarred him mentally for several months. When he had slayed the banshee, he found out that he had actually killed his mother, and went into a deep depression that still haunts him to this day. When he entered the arena scene again, he fought and tried to lose so he could die, but found that his will to live was far to strong, and so he fights with all his might but constantly is searching for an enemy that will kill him.
