The Participants:
Falcon Red: Arthur Pandrake
Lost Goddess: Anna-Lee

The Battlefield:

The courtyard of Hades' palace surrounded by a horde of skeletal minions that prevent escape from the battle. It is dark with little light except from a green fire lamp that gives off a greenish glow. The dark walls have scenes of pain and death upon then and the courtyard is made of bone. There is a single dead tree in the middle of the battlefield that has no special signifcance, and you can hear the tortured cries of lost souls in the fields of punishment.

Anna-lee stood in the darkness of her fathers realm and sighed in relief. She hadn't been here in a long time and hopefully her father would be proud of her for this battle. Then a horde of Skeletal minions surrounded the battlefield and the darkness shifted across the courtyard to reveal a mortal man with a look of suprise on his face at this terrain. He looked as if he had been in battle before he was summoned here.

The Skeletal minions closed in on them forming a perfect circular ring that prevented escape from the battle and gave the battlefield a bounary limit. The only thing seperating Anna-lee from her opponent was a dead tree that would bloom once the victor had been decided. She flipped down the visor of her red helmet and saw her opponent through the cracks in her bone visor. She said loud enough for her opponent to hear " Welcome to the realm of hades mortal. I am pleased you answered my challenge and will enjoy my first battle with you", whilst saying this she was fading in and out of the darkness, as if it wasn't sure whether to reject or keep her.

She made no move to attack her opponent, instead she chose to giver him the chance to get used to his surroundings and then she would plot her first attack. Until then, she would watch him closely. She smiled darkly and sent a silent prayer to her father for help in this battle, but she knew he couldnt answer her prayer due to Ancient laws.

Arthur Pendrake opened his eyes, after blinking, only to see that he was no longer standing in background of the range where his troops were practicing. He felt his rifle in his hand, and noticed the sudden changes. He looked around at a vast nothing, a tree in the center of the circle of dead. He was confused, and slightly afraid. When none advanced, he collected himself and remembered that ad he answered the day before. He brought his rifle up placing his other hand on the handguard and shot one of the skeletons, watching it knock back, but not go down.

"Huh... I thought it was just a theme fight. Well then.."

He looked up at the fading girl who called at him and cocked his head. "Woah babe, you're kind of freaky." He brought his rifle up taking aim and firing at her shoulder, quickly flicking the thumbswitch, turning his rifle into the legendary sword Excalibur. He dropped his swordhand level to his hip, and the other up in a defensive position just off center of his face.

Anna-Lee grunted as the mortal bullet it her armor and actually punctured it, but hadn't gone all the way through, instead it had embedded itself partially in her shoulder, and she snarled. She drew her blood red sword life-drinker and charged the man. Her eyes flashed dangerously when the man called her babe. She stopped and stabbed lifedrinker into the ground. Then closed her eyes focusng all her powers into the palm of her hands.

The darkness seemed to flow into her hand in the shape of a sphere with tenticles around it. The size wasnt very big and it was hastily done, and she released the shadow pulse and three tendrils of darkness shot out at him one at his face, the second his chest and the last his right shoulder. She pulled her sword out of the ground again and then charged the man, hoping that the tendrils would distract him while she attempted to deliver a melee strike.

She had to be careful though, he looked trained very well in combat and she didnt want to get close, plus the shadow pulse had taken some of her energy and she felt fatigued already.. Which wasn't good, but she must hold out and win for her father. She swung her sword in a deadly arc above her head hoping it would come in contact with the mans shoulder, she wasnt trying to kill him, but weaken him and life-drinker was thirsty.

Arthur's eyes widened at the sudden attack. He brought his blade up blocking the tendril of shadow at his shoulder, taking the slight impact of the other two. Eye closes due to the oncoming threat hitting his face he shook it off, opening his eyes in time to see the girl bringing her blade down on him. He suddenly brought his sword up, arching his back a bit too far. He took the full impact, falling back with an "oof."

He acted fast, he swung his leg sweeping at hers before rolling away, hopping onto his feet, taking his stance to see if his opponent fell or not from his move. He glanced around the arena to take hold and be sure of his surroundings. The skeletons were just standing there, literally only good for a barrier, so he wasn't concerned about them, though it wouldn't hurt to keep an eye out for movement. She seemed to be the only real threat, so it would be her that he dealt with.

"You're move sweetheart, let's see what you've got."

Anna-lee hit the ground hard when the man swept her legs out from under her and she was winded. She stood up a little shaky and ripped off her helmet showing her full face for the first time during this battle. She picked up her fallen blade and then looked back at the man with her dark eyes and said " DO NOT CALL ME SWEETHEART!", as she said that last word she sprinted towards the man with renewed vigor and swung her sword heavily to her right to attempt a hit.

But she was faking that and instantly continued the strike but from the right to the center and in an upward arc aiming to cut that armor off of him. She continued her swing uninterrupted and hopefully this strike would cut the straps on his heavy armor that he wore. This mortal couldnt stand a chance against a daughter of Hades, Could he?.. Doubt began to fill her mind,

"Woah!!" He cried stepping back, bringing his sword up to deflect hers away faster, his dodge causing her to miss her target, the tip of her blade scratching the chest of his armor. He looked down at it noticing the new decoration to his armor and shook his head shocked. This armor had been through many battles, state of the art in body armor, the only scratches and nicks in it were from assault weapons, not many blades were sharp or strong enough to cause the damage. There wasn't enough force behind the attacks. This sword, and it's owner were no joke.

He did notice he had an advantage. Her temper. As it grew hot, it became erratic. Made her uncontrolled. Arthur grinned at the slight change in her advantage. She still had homefield, but without control, you lose it. He stepped back bringing his free hand to the end of the hilt holding Excalibur with two hands bringing it up and back down in a vertical slash to her vulnerable exposed head.

"So after this babe, mind if I get your number? You're kind of cute." He said before bringing the blade down on her.

Anna growled in fury as the blade hit its target cutting her arm, blood now pouring down her arm. Her eyes flashed a dangerous red for a moment and she sheathed her sword and focused all her energy into this one power she knew would come in handy, but it wouldnt last long and would leave her fairly weaker. She hadn't thought this battle through when she had posted the challenge and was summoned here. She thought that because this was her home, her father would help her. But, she was wrong and she would have to fend for herself.

She balled her fists and the darkness around them began to shift and seemingly drew into her fists and created a dark cloud around her. She hadn't wanted to use this ability but, in order for her to attempt to beat this mortal man she would need the darkness on her side. She functioned well in the darkness and normally her anger was controllable, but this man, no this mortal dared to taunt her. She couldnt allow that to happen, nor would she permit it.

So, as the darkness built and grew more foul around her she turned to the mortal and said " You are a great opponent and seem to be very good at what you do, but are you good enough to see in total darkness?" She held her stance and awaited the mans reply to her question. She was holding the darkness for now and would wait for the right time to unleash it. She wanted to appear vulnerable to the man who was watching and taunting her.
