Introduction to Warriors

The Warriors stories surround clans of cats that live alone in the wild with little interaction with humans. They have laws and rituals, as well as a religion which involves their warrior ancestors, and every cat in the clan has a position and a role to fill. Each Clan has a leader, given nine lives and the suffix "-star" after their name by StarClan. StarClan is a group made up of the Clans' spiritual ancestors who give guidance and even prophecies to the Clans. The leader appoints a deputy who will later succeed him or her as leader. Most of each Clan is made up of warriors, the cats who fight in battles and patrol the borders while following the warrior code. Warriors train apprentices to become new warriors. Old or impaired warriors become elders. When a female warrior has kits, she becomes a queen for the duration that she is pregnant or nursing. Kits cannot become apprentices until they are six moons (months) old.

Every Clan has a medicine cat, who communicates with StarClan and heals injured or sick cats. Medicine cats gather every half moon to share dreams with StarClan. Clan rivalries do not apply to medicine cats, and they have peace with each other, usually helping one another; however, they may not have kits. The Clans also sometimes have a medicine cat apprentice, who is normally trained starting at six moons old to become a medicine cat. Medicine cats can also be warriors who are injured too badly to continue as a warrior, or decide they want to be trained as medicine cats.

The cats in the Clans also have a special naming system. When a kit is given his/her name, it will end in "-kit," for example, Bramblekit. When a kit becomes an apprentice, during the ceremony, the leader will change the word "-kit" to "-paw," for example, Bramblepaw. When an apprentice becomes a warrior, the leader, with the help of StarClan, chooses a permanent ending of the name (-heart, -stripe, -pelt, -fur, -claw, -foot, -tail, -talon, -storm, etc.,) for example, Brambleclaw. When a deputy becomes the leader, StarClan performs a ceremony in which the new leader must travel to a sacred place to share dreams with StarClan. During the ceremony, the leader receives nine lives from their Warrior Ancestors and the name ending of "-star". Any cat in the Clan has the right to become the deputy, as long as he/she is a warrior, is not nursing kits, and has had at least one apprentice.

The Plot of The Forgotten Clans

While the clan system is the same as that mentioned above, both clans and all characters, as well as the plot are original. This game centers around two clans, EarthClan and FireClan, and their warrior ancestors Moonclan (I decided not to call them StarClan so as to avoid confusion with the novels.) EarthClan have a hilly forested territory, and eat anything they can catch with the exception of fish. FireClan, however, make their home in an abandoned twolegplace that used to be a railroad town, eating mostly mice and birds. FireClan however does not believe in MoonClan, at least not at the beginning, and their medicine cat only heals the sick and injured. Since as far as I know, trains and train tracks aren't mentioned in the Warriors Series, I have given them the names of Firebelly and firepath. Both clans fear Firebelly, and so neither have ever ventured past the river or firepath which devides their two territories. For that reason, they have no knowledge of each other.

However, cats from both clans begin to recieve dreams from MoonClan warning of trials to come. In order for both clans to survive, they will have to band together in search of both their past and their future.

The Warrior Code

These are the rules clan cats live by. They can be bent or broken, but usually not without some resulting consequence. The clan leader decides the punishment for a cat that breaks the code. A cat that repeatedly breaks the warrior code may be exiled from the clan camp, and may then become a loner, rogue, or kittypet.

*Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan.
*Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.
*Elders and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors.
*Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for it's life.
*A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
*Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.
*A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
*The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies or retires.
*After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.
*At gathering of all Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.
*Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
*No warrior may neglect a kit in pain or in danger, even if that kit is froma different Clan.
*The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code.
*An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his or her battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or it is necessary for self-defense.
*A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.



RP Rules

Unlike the Warrior Code, these are law. If you repeatedly break them, you will be kicked out of the RP. Period.

1. Obey all RPA and forum rules. Do I even need to state this one?

2. No God-modding. Only clan leaders have nine lives, and even they can be killed. If a wound or illness is serious enough, it may take away more than one of the leader's lives at once. Your cat will also not catch the prey every time. The more experienced a cat is, the better its chances, though. Also, your cat cannot use magic and does not have super powers. Any unique abilities have to be approved by me beforehand.

3. You may have up to five living cats. Despite the medicine cats' best efforts, some cats will die. However, if a cat dies it doesn't mean you have to stop playing them. They will have a place in MoonClan, and as such will be able to speak to cats in dreams, with my permission, as well as have a say in the general direction of the plot. Also, if one of your cats dies, you may make another cat if you choose.

4. Normal swearing is not allowed in this RP, simply because there is a better way than using four-letter words. If you must swear, choose one of the curse words in the terms list, or be creative and come up with your own. Keep it clean though, there are kids on this site.

5. Clan cats only have one mate, and they mate for life. Once again, keep it clean. You may show effection, but don't cross the line. Also, if the cats that are mates decide they want to have kits, the players involved can play the kits or ask someone else to play them.

6. I am GM, so I have the final say. However control of the flow of the RP will be shared among players with cats in Moonclan.

Username:

Cat Name: Think of words a cat would use. Don't use any words for the main part of your name that a wild cat wouldn't understand. If you need help with a name, let me know and I can help you come up with one. These must end in -kit for kits, -paw for apprentices, and -star for clan leader. However you can be as creative as you like with warrior, medicine cat and elder names, as long as they have two parts (i.e. Willowkit, Willowpaw, Willowbrook, Willowstar).

Clan: EarthClan, FireClan, or MoonClan. Could also be a kittypet, rogue, or loner.

Gender: I hope I don't have to explain this...

Age: In 'moons' please. Kits are 0-6, Apprentices are 6-12, Warriors are 12-120, and Elders are 120 to 180. If you have trouble with this let me know what age they'd be in human years and I'll figure it out for you. Obviously littermates will be the same age. Don't worry about editing this later, as I will update age every moon in gametime.

Appearance: You may use pictures if you like, but I also prefer that you write a description as well.

Personality: How is your cat seen by the rest of the clan and by themselves?

Bio: I'm not looking for a novella here, just a short bio will do. You can leave it blank and fill it in later after we work out family groups and relationships. But if your cat has any kin, list them here.

Clan Positions

* Leader - the cat who leads the Clan; their names always end with -star; after a trip to the Moonstone or Moonpool, they receive their nine lives and name from StarClan.
* Deputy - the cat who is second-in-command to the Clan leader; the deputy is in charge of organizing patrols and hunting parties, and succeeds the leader after he/she loses all nine lives from battle or sickness
* Medicine cat - a cat who is trained specifically in the ways of healing; receives messages from StarClan and interprets them; stands outside the rivalries between the Clans; is not allowed to take a mate or have kits; sometimes, fully trained warriors can also become an apprentice of a medicine cat
* Warrior - a cat (tom or she-cat without kits) trained in the ways of combat; warriors defend, hunt, and fight for their Clan; they also are in charge of training apprentices to become warriors; a warrior may only have one apprentice at a time, although they may supervise the training of apprentices lacking mentors
* Queen - a she-cat expecting or nursing kits; they stay in the nursery until their kits become apprentices and then return to their warrior duties
* Apprentice - a cat who, at six moons old, begins training to become a warrior or medicine cat; they train daily to practice battle and hunting skills, and also care for the elders; their names always end with -paw; they become warriors when their mentor and leader feel that they are ready, at the least; 12 moons
* Kit - a kitten, not yet old enough to be an apprentice (six moons old); they are not allowed to hunt or leave the camp, they do not normally leave the nursery, however, older kits are sometimes allowed to leave the nursery; their names always end with -kit
Note: Older kits are allowed out of camp only under maternal supervision
* Elder - a retired warrior, deputy, or medicine cat; apprentices care for the elders


Other Ranks

* Prisoner - a cat that is captured by members of another Clan and held within that Clan until the leader decides what to do with them
* Loner - a cat that lives neither with a Clan or with humans, normally used for a friendly loner
* Kittypet - a cat that lives with their human owners (twolegs)
* Rogue - a cat that is a member of a group not bound by the Warrior Code, normally violent or agressive.

* Kittypet - a house cat; the term can also be used as an insult
* Loner - a cat who is neither owned by humans or part of a Clan
* Rogue - another term for loner; used to describe hostile loners or cats exiled from their Clans
* Mouse-brain - an insult; stronger than stupid furball
* Mousedung - an insult; stronger than mouse-brain, but less offensive than foxdung
* Foxdung - an insult; stronger offense than mouse-brain
* Sharing tougues - term used to describe cats grooming each other
* Leaf-bare - the season of winter
* Newleaf - the season of spring
* Greenleaf - the season of summer
* Leaf-fall - the season of autumn
* Moon - a 28-day period (one full moon to another); a month
* Moonhigh - the point in time when the moon is highest in the sky; midnight

* Crowfood - rotting, dead prey; also used as an insult

Personality: very social, Nightwind has a loving and caring personality. She is a born leader, and puts the group above all. She's cautious though, so there is always a hint of hidden thoughts behind her eyes. She watches all of the things around camp, and enjoys Night Watches like nothing else

Appearance: Swiftfoot is a silver tabbycat, with light blue eyes, a white underbelly, and white paws. His left ear is torn, and there is a distinct kink remaining in his tail when he walks. There is a scar over his left eye although he still sees find.
Personality: Swiftfoot is interesting sort of deputy. He is not deeply spiritual but he can be depended upon no matter what for his Clan. He works hard to make sure things are running right, running smooth. He is the sort who rarely takes time for himself, instead preferring to busy himself with whatever task presents itself. He is seen as quick of mind, taking in everything he sees and remembering it to use later. But he is also very quiet, guarded, and if asked about himself quite short on temper.
Bio: He led a fairly normal life was a warrior in the clan for the most part. Born around the same time as the leader, he was seen as a strong contender for the position one day. But he decided, at around 20 moons or so, to pursue the one he loved: a lovely orange tabby by the name of Suneye. But things were not to last as Suneye was killed in a skirmish against a Rogue. Since then, he has never pursued love nor anything related to himself again, rather devoting his time to the Clan. He hates all Rogues, laming their lifestyle for his loss.

Personality: Who would have guessed that such a cat could settle down with a mate and have kits? Though a queen now, Greeneyes is not generally the mothering type. She has a wit as sharp as her claws and is a firece fighter. However, to her kits Petalkit and Heatherkit she is stern but loving, and like most queens, she is willing to defend her kits with her life.

Personality: Petalkit is a adventurous kitten and is the living example of "curiousity killed the cat" though the killed part has yet to come true. If it weren't for her subdued sister Heatherkit, she probably would have been at least seriously injured by now. She is always underfoot of the other cats and wanting to know what they are doing, she dreams of being a great warrior some day.

Appearance: Pinestar is a light furred Tom, with severly long whiskers. His eyes are always warm and welcoming, and become pain filled when he has to fight.
Personailty: PineStar is truly the voice of Reason. When there is conflict, he is always there to fix things. He prefers to talk before releasing his claws. His voice always has a rich tune to it, no matter what the
day or weather. He prefers to treat all of his clan like siblings and close friends, and Even strays are treated like long lost brothers and sisters.

Bio: Long since his warrior days, PineStar has kept the clan strong and peaceful. Though he has never been in need of more warriors, His kind nature provokes him to allow even kittypets a welcoming home in his clan.
His Words over Claws life style makes it soul crushing when ever he must bare his claws against a fellow feline, no matter the cause. Though a prefered passifist, PineStar is a remarkable warrior, complimenting himself and his
clan ten-fold. After the loss of his mate, kits, and Mother, he has yet to make claims to any other Queen in the clan. Hus heart is warm, yet heavy, like his eyes which always seem to greet yet pity all who fall under them. His love
for his clan is unshaken as is his desire to keep order, balance, and peace.

Appearance: Aspenrose is a dusty colored cat, mostly gray with hints of brown and orange. She has 3 white paws. She's well taken care of but is not overweight either.

Personality: Though Aspenrose is plain on the outside, she has a fiery inside and will do anything for her clan members. She is spunky and quick and always has an answer for everything, even if she's not always right. Because she's not really a beautiful cat she hasn't found a mate yet, and she's not particularly worried, she assumes that the time will come eventually and for the moment she is concentrating on her duties.

Personality: Leopardclaw seems to like attention, much like a kit though he is many moons a warrior now. He never seems to take anything seriously unless it is life-threatening, a fact that rubs many of his clanmates the wrong way.

Appearance: Willowbrook has a tabby pelt with amazing blue and green eyes that remind one of the stream that runs through EarthClan territory.

Personality: Willowbrook is calm and quiet as the body of water for which she is named, and cares deeply for her home and the cats that live there. However, on the rare occasion when she does get angry, every cat in EarthClan can sense it. Her piercing eyes seem to strike down any those around her who would dare to question her judgement or defy her orders. Some say that she is more a leader than a medicine cat, but she has no want for power. She simply looks after her clan as best she can, and will do anything she can to keep it strong.

Age: 11
Appearance: Featherpaw is a cat who is like a snowshoe. Her paws, legs, and muzzle are all a very dark brown in hue, save for a white blotch upon her nose. She has anotehr white blotch on her chest, and the rest is tan. Her eyes are a vivid blue.
Personality: She is seen as being very quiet, thoughtful, and creative. She loves to tell stories, and also enjoys hearing stories. She is very curious about the outside world, and sometimes a bit scatter-brained.
Bio: Not really much. Her life as been really normal. She knew from an early age she had an affinity for medicine, and found herself read to learn and take everything in that she could. She is close to finishing her apprenticeship she is certain, and hopes to one day be a great medicine cat for their clan.

Appearance: brown and black striped, he resembles a more bulky street cat with a lot of strength. His tail is striped with white, as is his belly. The fur is a little longer then normal, and his eyes are brown, dark.
Personality: He's more laid back then most, but excels at being placed in tough situations. If things are too east, he slacks, but has a distinct view on how things really are. Oakstream is extremly over protective, and loyal to a weakness-like point.
Bio: as a kitten, Oakstream (kit) was always backing his other brother into a corner, and enjoyed staying around him. The two actually became apprentices together, often skipping to be with each other. Yet, they both exceled and became extinguished Warriors. The most recent tradegy occured 2 moons ago, when the Firebelly took his brothers life. He's been more quiet since, and the Clan has been pushing him back into reality. He's just making a breakthrough.

Cat Name: Sharp Paw
Clan: EarthClan Apprintice
Gender: Male
Age: 8 moons
Appearance: Sharp paw is a jet-black cat with a white patch under his chin, a diamond shaped white patch on his forehead, and a white patch in the shape of a paw on his back.
Personality: This cat is an ornery cat. He can be nice and most of the time he is in his own round-about way but he is snappy. Most cats just accept this as him and when hes in a ornery mood they treat him like normal. It's when he doesn't have an insult or he gives you a steady gaze that you should be nervous. He is pretty fast and agile as well as strong and intelligent but he's also very lazy and not easy to provoke.
Bio: His parent's were killed a long time ago he was adopted by the clans trainers and retainers. He is being trained to be a warrior cat and has already showed an aptitude for Intelligence gathering as well as combat itself.

Clan: Kittypet at a Horseplace
Gender: female
Age: 24
Appearance: Lilly is a beautiful calico cat, with long gorgeous fur and bright green eyes. She is slightly plump but still agile, and you can't really tell under all her fur anyway

Personality: Lilly is a sweet, pampered cat, whose only job is to keep pests out of the stables. She isn't fed and cared for by the stable owner but his grandkids often come in and play with her. She has a beautiful coat that she keeps clean. Living in a horseplace she is used to dodging flying hooves and running through straw. She is excited and is impressed by nearly anything new to her.
Bio: Lilly was born in the hayloft of the horseplace, with 3 other kits. Her mom has since died, for she was old and that was her last litter and the other siblings were given away to the stableowners friends. She is happy hunting mice and playing with the horses but she lives quite a boring life and would do anything for a little bit of adventure

Age: 135 Moons
Appearance: A scruffy and old Tom-cat. Short Tailed, Thick Fur, and only one eye make up this old rat chaser.

Personality:He spends most of his time laying about near the Fire Tracks, where mice and small birds are abundant.
Bio: Once a Farmers rat chaser, Sooteye became abandoned near the old Rail's that the locals have named "Fire Trail". Though some of the old Monsters still move, Sooteye prefers to stay where prey is easy to find, and shelter is plenty. He gained his name for the black patch that covers most of his Left eye.
Other: After a traumatizing experience with a stray coyote, Sooteye can no longer fight well. His left foreleg and hind legs no longer bare claws. One of his front fangs is also sundered.

Gender: Female
Age: 67 Moons
Appearance: A wild looking red furred female. Her eyes always gleam with a blood burning glare to any Warrior who falls under them.

Personality/Bio: Quick to Anger, Even quicker to attack a Warrior. Some stories are told to Young Kits about her eating her own kits after she was cast out of her Clan. Neither clan will claim that she was once theirs, and She is far from ever telling anyone which one scorned her. A Fierce and Fearless fighter, she has slain many a young warrior to foolish to flee against her rage and knowledge.

Bio: Lilly was born in the hayloft of the horseplace, with 3 other kits. Her mom has since died, for she was old and that was her last litter and the other siblings were given away to the stableowners friends. She is happy hunting mice and playing with the horses but she lives quite a boring life and would do anything for a little bit of adventure. She frequently goes out into the forest by her horseplace and has met one of an Earthclan member, who blew her off, but not before her curiosity was peeked, and now she longs to find them again and see how they live

Appearance: Swiftfoot is a silver tabbycat, with light blue eyes, a white underbelly, and white paws. His left ear is torn, and there is a distinct kink remaining in his tail when he walks. There is a scar over his left eye although he still sees find.

Personality: Swiftfoot is interesting sort of deputy. He is not deeply spiritual but he can be depended upon no matter what for his Clan. He works hard to make sure things are running right, running smooth. He is the sort who rarely takes time for himself, instead preferring to busy himself with whatever task presents itself. He is seen as quick of mind, taking in everything he sees and remembering it to use later. But he is also very quiet, guarded, and if asked about himself quite short on temper.

Bio: He led a fairly normal life was a warrior in the clan for the most part. Born around the same time as the leader, he was seen as a strong contender for the position one day. But he decided, at around 20 moons or so, to pursue the one he loved: a lovely orange tabby by the name of Suneye. But things were not to last as Suneye was killed in a skirmish against a Rogue. Since then, he has never pursued love nor anything related to himself again, rather devoting his time to the Clan. He hates all Rogues, laming their lifestyle for his loss.

Personality: She is seen as being very quiet, thoughtful, and creative. She loves to tell stories, and also enjoys hearing stories. She is very curious about the outside world, and sometimes a bit scatter-brained.

Bio: Not really much. Her life as been really normal. She knew from an early age she had an affinity for medicine, and found herself read to learn and take everything in that she could. She is close to finishing her apprenticeship she is certain, and hopes to one day be a great medicine cat for their clan.

Appearance: Solid black, with bright yellow eyes, her expressions ate clear through. In the sun, it seems to flicker. She still has a little bit of her kitten look, and has short, glossy fur.
Personality: very social, Nightstar has a loving and caring personality. She is a born leader, and puts the group above all. She's cautious though, so there is always a hint of hidden thoughts behind her eyes. She watches all of the things around camp, and enjoys Night Watches like nothing else
Bio: Nightstars rise to leader was one full of hard work and loyalty. She showed signs of a leader as she was going through her apprenticship and even moreso as she became a Warrior. Cats look upon her as a worthy friend, one who knows how to create peace. Promoted to Deputy, she accepted the rise with her tail held level, and her head even. The previous Leader had been a close friend, and she holds his memory in high regards. There are some in the Clan, however, who believe that she may be too hidden with the thoughts flashing behind her eyes.

Personality: He's more laid back then most, but excels at being placed in tough situations. If things are too east, he slacks, but has a distinct view on how things really are. Oakstream is extremly over protective, and loyal to a weakness-like point.
Bio: as a kitten, Oakstream (kit) was always backing his other brother into a corner, and enjoyed staying around him. The two actually became apprentices together, often skipping to be with each other. Yet, they both exceled and became extinguished Warriors. The most recent tradegy occured 2 moons ago, when the Firebelly took his brothers life. He's been more quiet since, and the Clan has been pushing him back into reality. He's just making a breakthrough.

Appearance: Sharp paw is a jet-black cat with a white patch under his chin, a diamond shaped white patch on his forehead, and a white patch in the shape of a paw on his back.

Personality: This cat is an ornery cat. He can be nice and most of the time he is in his own round-about way but he is snappy. Most cats just accept this as him and when hes in a ornery mood they treat him like normal. It's when he doesn't have an insult or he gives you a steady gaze that you should be nervous. He is pretty fast and agile as well as strong and intelligent but he's also very lazy and not easy to provoke.

Bio: His parent's were killed a long time ago he was adopted by the clans trainers and retainers. He is being trained to be a warrior cat and has already showed an aptitude for Intelligence gathering as well as combat itself. (add more later. I'm having a very shitty day.)

Just think like a cat. What would a cat call it? Store works, since medicine cats have stores of herbs, you could use that term. If nothing fits, be creative. That's part of the fun. Maybe twoleg hunting grounds, because that's where twoleg food comes from. That might be funny. (And in reality an abandoned grocery store would likely be a haven for mice, soo...) Anything involving cars, a garage, etc. could be a monster cave or a monster den.
