Setting is near future earth, for 50 years are so mutants called psionics by the press and colloquial venacular have been appearing like weeds all over the world. It was discovered that certain people had started developing traits or powers around puberty. This number started growing rapidly and governments around the world developed their own ways of treating them: superweapons, outcasts, integrated civilians, termination, research subjects, etc.
The U.S. government determined the right path was to integrate them into society as important individuals and a working part of society as a whole. In 2041, the Nation Registration Act was enforced. This also created the MetaHuman Affairs Department, the Enforcers (psoinics policing psoinics), The Academy (a private school funded by the government to train psoinics their powers), and mega upgrades in civil business creating a technology boom greater than the Industrial Era. Registered psoinics that fought vigilante style with a blind eye and sometimes help from the government are called prelates.
Armor technologies were developed to keep up with psionics. Research into making structure worthy non-metals really helped with metal benders, which not everything has. Cyborgs (spark jockeys) and gene spliced crimals(gene jackers) also started appearing across the world.

It is now 2080, America has quickly adapted to the new rules of the world and everything is back to a status quo. More recently 3 psoinics Shawn, (Elizabeth16),Kree, who all graduated from the Academy and were friends in the school, broke into a secret underground area of the Academy that was discovered to be a secret lab full of computers, equipment, and, stasis pods. Some of those pods were empty, but others were not so were opened them to reveal former students of the school. They had all been inside the pods for varing times because who ever was collecting them did not want people to notice anyone was missing.
Shawn checked the computers to reveal some facinating tidbits. From what could be unscrambled right there were words: bio-map, Project Data, research, psoinics, Deep Nineteen, Deep Sixteen. Basicly enough data to tell that the Academy was aiding Project Data with the kidnapping of some of the high school psoinics. We escape with the kids that are there through a lot of hellfire and brimstone of various security messures: Lasers, SecBots with shield ang guns, Heavy weapon implacements, and a couple of heavy Secbots.
We escape barely alive with the kids and manage to use Kree's family contacts to arrange a temporary safe haven in an abandoned inn/halfway house.

We'll have the Project Data plot, Local crimelord and various small timers as badies. May throw something extra in if I can think of something good.

3.I would like to keep this as fast pased as possible. Post when you can just keep from double posting.
4.Try not to repeat powers. Be a little creative. The traditional powers are expected, but.... come on...
5.If you uber your powers then off set it with a mega weakness.
Example: a Perfect Shapeshifter= Heightened metabolism to the point he always eats mega amounts of food. Can start to eat himself if changed too many times. Electroshock therapy also not a good idea, besides the pain temporary total loss of control of powers.

The middle sister of five girls, Alexis inherited her father’s ability to generate heat generating particulate matter that she calls ‘black heat’. When it became clear that Alexis’s powers were beyond her father’s scope to teach and her mother’s patience to clean up after, she was sent to the Academy to learn. There, she met Laurel and Ian and became the defacto leader of the trio; driving most of their adventures with her swingshift emotions and impulsive nature.

Alexis ultimately decided to ‘give back’ to the Academy and become a teacher rather than move to the west coast with Laurel as Ian did. Over the years, she became distant and more than a little guilty over the trouble she had caused her friends in her youth.

This all changed when Alexis discovered the Academy’s betrayal and bought it to the attention of the only people she knew she could trust; her old friends. Alexis was initially resistant to the idea of using her powers for super heroics, but as threats such as Morganna and Project Tome emerged, she accepted the responsibility of being tactical leader of the Descendants, even being the one that finally named the group.

In civilian life, Alexis has become romantically involved with Ian, and has taken the lead in advancing psionics rights and founding a school for psionics to fill the void left by the Academy’s downfall. She now works as a power use and creativity instructor at the school in Mayfield.

Alexis uses her ‘black heat’ in a number of ways, including projecting it offensively, levitating herself and other objects, and starting fires. By carefully arranging the particulate matter she generates, she can also become invisible, but doing so makes her blind. She wears a ballistic cloth body suit in battle as well as a scarf made of transitional material that allows it to become a rigid staff or elastic rope.

Place/Organization informantion (I'll add as we go)

The Academy= PTAA, Psoinic Traing and Academics Academy. A private school system semi-funded by government grants to train psionics in their powers and help them become productive members of society.

The Halfway Inn= a rundown building in the middle of Danville, North Carolina. Totally revamped into a teenage dream house and covert military compound with Kree Jarnouqua's connections and money.

Enforcers= The psoinic police unit using psoinics to police other psoinics.

If the state has enough money, they have their own police units for superhuman affiars. They are extensions of existing departments. Prisons for all superwhatevers are beyond supermax. They have to be because of what they hold.

CSRD= Covert Superhuman Respose Division ???? explained a little later. putting it down so I don't forget.

The CAVE= Actually Calvin's Food and Entertainment Center. It is a local teen hang out with a cafe, virtual arcade, live stage, and dance floor. It is usually not well lit and cold hince the Cave nickname.

Himerson High School= Danville's public high school where everyone in Danville goes.

VirtTech= Famous for its virtual reality simulations. It soon branched out into different areas. It now does all things tech from watches and car radios to armors and military contracts. It is the main reason why Danville has become a boomtown.

Danville, NC= Impressive beaches, seafood, and a small 4 year college used to define this backwater town. Then VirtTech came and put its headquarters right smack in the middle of Danville. VirtTechs inventions made Danville instant fame and $$$. It has become a prosperous hub of life and their are no signes of it stopping.

History: Kree was brought over from a wealthy French family, his father was a pure-blood French Nobleman, whilst his mother was
just an average American women. But, it was from his mothers genes that made Kree Jarnouqua inherit the name and brand of "No Face" for
on his first day of puberty, his body no only began a violent and rapid shifting of forms but also slowly began seperate into two. After wards
Kree's body never retained all of his original features. His power of forms is constantly in effect, one day his hair will be long and then it'll be
short, or his skin will be ivory white then as tan as any desert walker. The only thing that never changed was his only Hazel Eye. As time went on,
the young Jarnouqua was shipped to the Academy by his father, the same father who also funded several behind-the-scenes projects; like Project Tome.
After leaving the school, Kree set out to find everyone who had ties to his father. Years of manipulation and making contact with the right people
earned Kree high respect not only amongst authoritative figures, but also deep into the darker parts of society. Those who associated with the
Shape Shifter, either became well payed and well informed, or ended up being eliminated by any means imaginable.

Powers and explanation: Shape Shifting; born with an unstable DNA code write up, Kree could never retain a permanent form. But, practice has brought him
in full control of his power, though years of unstable change has forever made his body unable to return to its original stage, only small pieces still
remain, such as his Hazel Eye, the sign of his sanity. The only drawback to Kree's almost limitless forms, is his dire need to feed just like the last thing
he became. Ex. A Dog, He has to either find Purina Chow or Loot a Dumpster and eat till he is full before he can return to human form. Or the girl who walks
to the gym every morning before work, he would have to eat what ever she would eat before returning to himself.

Doppelganger - Kree also developed a strange strand of DNA from his mothers lineage, allowing him to seperate him self into two versions. But, the copy is not
Kree Jarnouqua of the Hazel Eye, but another enitity that lies deep inside of him. "Wylder" is what it prefers to be called, as it retains all of Kree ability to
change into Beasts, whilst Kree is only able to become another Human being, whilst they are seperated. All of Kree's darker thoughts, wants, and instincts are
made manifest inside of Wylder, who takes pleasure in Destruction as Kree turns to Wit and Subterfuge. The only discernable features between the two are their eyes,
as Kree will have both his eyes of Hazel, and Wylder will have both eyes of Gold. Kree and Wylder are also capable of talking to each other with Telepathy, though
they choose not to due to their massive differences and views towards Life. The draw back is that both will begin to feel skull-tearing migraines after 3-4 hours and
when they reunite, every thought, feeling, and emotion both had must meld themselves back into one body, causing "No Face" to become incapacitated for half a day.

You mention none of the stuff like being friends with Shawn and Elizabeth16's character in the Academy. You don't mention the break in and out. To not mess with copy rights we aren't fighting Tome, but Code. If you wanted to make your guy 32 thats ok. We'll have to make it within that range

Born to a not so loving family of 5 element powered step-brothers and sisters, the Texan had a rough life growing up. It was kinda weird that they all loved his mother, but they hated him. It is a kid thing I guess. The son of the proud Elementalist and Lady Shaman duo did not make life any better for any of the kids of the retired Texas Prelates. The constant moving around Texas because who his parents are never gave him a since of a traditional home, but strengthened his concept of family. As life went on his step-brothers and sisters came to love him, especially when he got his powers.

His family sent him to the Academy to learn some disipline and to apply his newly discovered powers constructivily. The Academy classified it as manipulation of psychic energy. He did this via orbal blasts and disc shields. The Academy taught him psychic flight and further refinement of his disc shields learning to throw them like projectiles, create a better force field with smaller disc sheilds collected together, and simulate telekenisis by using the discs for locomotion.

He however definitily did not learn to use them constructivily before, during, and after meeting Kree Jarnouqua while in the school. They, along with a third person, an secretly mischevious girl, became known night terrors of teachers dreams and the class con-artists. Calling them pranksters would be an insult to their artful creativity. Shawn's initial ideas lead to Kree's inventive execution, and the girl's effective exit and damage control. Somehow they all graduated with near top marks dispite every teacher's whim and fancy.

Shawn left for military duty to be used as a psyonic powerhouse during the Brazilian Offensive. He came back to the states after 5 years on tour and a mediocre job to have Kree and the girl they were friends with in school tell him the school was snatching kids from within their walls for who knows what kinds of experiments. It took a couple of years of preperation and research before they found themselves storming the underverse of the Academy to find and rescue those kids.

History: Riana is an only child. Her mother died in childbirth, and her father was one of the last direct descendants of a Native American tribe that even she can't pronounce. He taught her the ancient ways of his tribe as well as the ways of the modern world, which gave her a rather curious perspective on life. With her rare but intense mood swings, she was avoided and seen as different even long before her powers started to make themselves known.

The first signs of her powers came when her mood swings began to make the air in the room cold as ice when she was upset and hot as a summer day when she was angry. But despite her father's insistance even that had not been enough to convince her that she was the one doing it. He even began to call her his little medicine girl, for it was long ago thought that a medicine man of his tribe had the ability to change the weather. But still she didn't want to believe him. She didn't want to be different. All she wanted was to fit in. And two years later, her wanting to fit in cost her father and nearly two hundred others their lives.

She had always been afraid of heights, ever since she was little, because for a long while she'd had dreams of falling nearly every night. But still, when her father had to go to overseas for his work, she had begged to go with him. If only she had stayed home. If only she could have had better control over her emotions, she would not have had that panic attack. They left on a clear day, with not even a hint of a cloud in the sky, and hours later, the plane flew into a friek storm which brought them crashing into the side of a mountain. There were few survivors, and when MHAD caught wind of the story, they gave her a choice. Go to the Academy or never see the light of day again.

So of course she went to the Academy. After that, she changed to such an extent that no one would have recognized her from the moody loud-mouthed girl she once had been. She had a calmness about her that almost seemed unnatural. She very seldom showed any emotion whatsoever, even when using her abilities. Because of her somewhat unnerving demeanor, few even at the Academy would go near her, much less call her friend. Though she feared letting her emotions get away from her however, inside she was just as fiery and spirited as she ever was. What she feared most though was herself, which is why she seldom ever allowed herself to get close to anyone.

One day one of the professors approached her with an offer. They had been watching her, and had seen how she stayed away from everyone else despite having good control over her powers. The professor told her that if she cooperated, she would never again have to worry about her powers getting out of control. She needed very little convincing after that, and went into stasis willingly. She did not want to have to feel alone any longer.

In a way, it was the truth, because they planned to kill her once they were finished with her. No, she would not have worried any longer if they had gotten their way. Fortunately though, Shane and the others had rescued her and the others just in time. She was so confused when they thawed her, she wanted to stay, but when they explained that it had been fourteen years and that she had been tricked so that the Academy could do experiments on her, she fell apart. It had rained for three days while she had sulked, but finally she snapped out of it and has been relatively normal ever since. She is only just starting to come out of her shell, though she still fears what she might do if she gets too close to someone.

Powers and Explanation: Rain gets her name from her ability to alter the atmosphere around her with her mind, causing weather changes. In the beginning, she was only able to alter small things like the temperature of the room she was in, but over time she was taught how to form and dissipate storm fronts and even alter the flow of air in a room to move objects that would otherwise be out of her reach. For some reason, she seems unwilling to learn how to use her powers to fly. She says it is because she needs to feel at one with the earth in order for her powers to work, but it is fairly well known that the actual reason is that she is deathly afraid of heights, to the point that she panics and looses control of her abilities.

History:

Personal: Melinda was born in Paris,France and lived in an apartment right next to the Eiffel Tower. She lived only with her dad, herself and her 2 cats. But her dad was away at work all the time, supporting the family so Melinda basically grew up on her own. She learned how to take care of herself at a very young age and had to figure out everything pretty much on her own too.

Her powers first started popping up at age 10, when, during an especially boring moment at one of the rare church meetings her father made her go to. She caught the eye of the pastor, and he immediately lost his train of thought. But of course, Melinda's powers were weak then, and he quickly regained his composure and continued on. No one really thought much of it, but that was the first sign. Over the years, Melinda realized her powers, but thought they were just because she was so pretty, which made her a little cocky. But when she got the principal of her high school to do the chicken dance, she knew something was up. When she figured it out she did a little research and found the Academy, and of course she wanted to go. It took a while for the people who came to enroll her to actually believe her but they did eventually. When she arrived her powers were only good to the extent of having someone carry her books for her. But now, they are good enough that she can get anyone (especially a person of the opposite sex) to do nearly anything, except, like, jump off a bridge for her. French is her first language but she speaks English fairly well, she just has a thick French accent.

Powers and Explanation: Melinda's powers are complicated, to put it simply, she has the power of attention getting. But it goes much deeper than that. She can look into the eyes of anyone and immediately she has that person's full attention, and it will not stray for anything. And she can get that person to do nearly anything for her, but it's strange because that person doesn't feel like they are being forced to do it, they feel happy and light because they are doing it out of the pure adoration they have for her, almost as if she was their queen. Hence "Cleopatra". The only weakness she knows of is that she is terribly partial to ice and cold, she can't stand it and prefers hot, desert-y life.

History: Grew up near a volcano Kane was getting sick of the heat. He would wish for a colder summer or a longer winter. One day he was lying on his bed wondering what snow would have been like. Then it started to randomly snow being over cautious and scarred he ran out of the room and stepped outside it was still snowing but just around him. The local police caught him and took him to the school where he never attended he was just thrown in a cell and before long he was pun in one of the chambers.

Waking up only to find a strange person leading him out of this place he never could get a good look at them for his eyes still had ice on them.

Powers and explanation: His power is simple but can be nasty he can freeze the air particles around him and turn his body into ice like a walking glacier pretty much. This power never makes him cold however his body is confused by this and always overcompensates with a blistering migraine pretty much like a constant brainfreeze.
He still has not acomplished his true potential but he finally made it stop snowing.

History:
Akron was born into an average family in every sense. Of course, there was one thing that made him non-average; He was blind ever since his birth. As such, he would always get picked on by the children of his town.
At age 10, however, Akron began to act strangely. He remained blind as ever, but his actions and movements began to become more like those who can truly see. Not only that, but the young boy seemed to be doing things that he shouldn’t be able to. Although it took a while to figure out, a freak incident occurred, which labeled Akron as a psionic and was immediately sent to the Academy.
The Academy didn’t particularly help Akron in his abilities. While they did attempt to help him control his powers, a second occurred that resulted in an internal sectional destruction inside the Academy. With this knowledge proving that Akron was most likely too dangerous to keep around, he was stuck into a stasis pod until they could find a way to help Akron control himself.
Of course, Akron is released by three teenagers before he could be ‘fixed’…

Powers:
Blind Sight - The simplest of his powers, Akron uses this the most. Although he is completely blind, this power allows him to see almost like anyone else. This vision closely resembles darkvision, and thus he must keep his eyes either closed or hidden behind something dark to be able to use.
Enhanced Senses – Not so much a power as a natural advantage. Since he was born without sight, Akron’s other four senses increased in fragments. This meant he had better hearing, smelling, and tasting. Although his voice was also slightly better now, he is mostly silent thereby ignoring the enhancement.
Telekinesis – As it sounds, Akron can bend the fabric of reality to his will. His abilities under this category include throwing much heavier objects, levitation, and grabbing and pulling apart opponents. Of course, his time in the stasis pod has weakened his abilities and he must regain his strength before he can perform the more difficult tasks.
Psychic Overload – This ability is a rare occurrence and only happens when Akron’s power is held in far too long. At first, Akron falls silent as if he suddenly lost consciousness. A few seconds afterward, a field of telekinetic energy encircles around him. From that point until the power is adequately drained out, anything caught inside the field is thrashed about violently, practically destroying it instantly. Upon use, Akron falls unconscious and remains out for a few days.

“Sylph” (When she was in the Academy, she was called "Plague" by the other students.)

History: Anamaria was a very social creature in her youth. She dreamed of being... well, a princess... like most little girls. As she grew older, however, she continued wanting to do something that would let her be around people. An singer, an actress, a model... but then, before she could do any of that... her family started to grow more fatigued and sluggish. Soon they grew ill, and were taken to a hospital. She was put in the care of a neighbor... but her family soon recovered, the doctors couldn't figure out what had happened... but before long they returned home. Shortly afterward they were ill again... repeating the process, they decided to move... however... it happened again...

It didn't take people long to notice that Anamaria was the common factor in all of this, and she was the only one not getting sick and soon she found herself being 'persuaded' to leave the family and go to the recently opened Academy. She was kept alone for the most part, to fully observe and understand her powers. It became clear that, left alone, she herself would become ill and, presumably eventually die. As such she was allowed to socialize with the other students, both for her physical and mental/emotional health, on a regular basis, but not for a long enough time to negatively impact her.

Of course, once the nature of her power was discovered, the other students began to avoid her, giving her the nickname of "Plague". It was around then that she began sneaking out of the school at night to go to whatever club or hangout she could get into. She'd never stay long enough to hurt anyone, just enough to socialize and 'feed'. It was round this time, fighting off people who would look to harm a young, seemingly-defenseless girl such as herself, that she realized that feeding did more than keep her alive. It gave her power. She also began to get addicted to the rush she got being around large groups... it took all of her self control to leave before she hurt anyone.

Eventually, the school caught on, and she was told that she'd be put into stasis until they could find a way to keep her from hurting people. She didn't like the idea. She didn't trust them. She liked feeding, and she could control it! They had no right! She fought. She was well fed... people were injured, maybe dead... at this point she didn't care. However, she was overpowered. They assured her that when she woke up, everything would be better...

Power- Feeding: When she's around people, Sylph slowly and uncontrollably drains the life-force from them. Nothing noticeable happens at first, but after a while they may begin to feel sluggish, then eventually lethargic... and after a long time, they'd grow ill, eventually die. Spending hours with her would cause no noticeable effect, even a day or two could be spent with no noticeable effects. The problem lies in long term exposure. Being around her is like slowly being poisoned, being poisoned a little more each day, you begin to get weaker and weaker, gradually and gradually until you finally succumb, fall ill and die.

She also gains power from feeding. When she's well fed, she develops super strength, advanced reflexes and improved stamina and healing. Of course, when she doesn't feed, she withers, grows sluggish, falls ill and would eventually die.

Would like to point out, if it was not understood now. Academy and Project Data= BAD people and they would only do that if they had a hidden agenda like use your powers for their own uses.

I gathered as much. I assume they try to look nice on the surface, though.

Either way, their main purpose was try and see if there was potential uses in her power. I mean, think about it. If they could boost her powers and get her to control them, she could pretty much wipe out crowds of people completely stealthily... or, if she could control them further, basically... drain a person dry before anyone even realized something was going wrong.

As it is, of course, she's not nearly powerful or in control of her powers enough for that.

Alright but to be honest I'm kind of confused. I get the whole people-found-in-tubes things, and that they escaped, but what happened after that? How did they get where they are now? And for that matter, where are they now? Other than Danville, I mean. What are they doing? Are they on the run or what? I'm getting the feeling I've missed something here.

History: Shortly after his birth, Ryan's father left his mother. Ryan was normal up until puberty, when he started to develop a catalogue of 'nervous' twitches and constantly complained about static shocks from metal. Eventually, he was diagnosed as being psionic and was shipped off to an academy to learn to control his powers.

Not many people liked him at the academy. He was irritable, caustic and quick-tempered. One person put up with him though. Ryan and Jonah Smith became friends. The kind of friends who were always at each other's throats, constantly locked in a battle of verbal one-upmanship, but friends nonetheless. But one day their jeering got a bit out of hand. During a bout of wrestling brought about by a remark Ryan made with regard to Jonah's mother, Ryan accidentally discharged into Jonah's heart, stopping it. Ryan was put into stasis as he was deemed too dangerous to continue being taught at the academy.

Powers: His nervous system generates excess quantities of static electricity, which can be built up and discharged. Due to this he constantly experiences static discharges when touching earthed metal. As a side effect of his power, his muscles constantly twitch and this not only aggravates him, making him irritable and very unpersonable, but also prevents him from sleeping well. Which doesn't do wonders for his people skills either.

History: Deacon was a orphan when he was young, feeling alone, he inherited his father's power, which was a powerful electrical shock. His parent's died in a car crash a few days before his 9th birthday. When he was taken into custody, Deacon was placed into a foster home care.

But while in the foster home care, his power became unstable when one of the children was shocking others with rug shocks. When Deacon was shocked, his power unleashed a strong shock, blasting a hole in the room, and static's pulsed around his body.

Deacon ran away from the foster home care when the other children thought he was scary and some of them called him a freak. He heard about a Academy that would help him, there were others that are like him. He decided to take this chance by going to the academy, hopefully they can help him by using and control his power correctly.

Powers and explanation: Deacon's father was using his powers for good. When Deacon inherited his father's power at the age of 8, his power was that strong, but as he grew older and older, his power grew stronger and uncontrolled.

I wish ya'll would think of something different in your histories for how the Academy was able to trick you into the stasis cells.

HK, if that is true then you would need to change your birth year. Course I don't know why a cop would send a derailed kid to the Academy. The Academy is for confirmed psionics, so unless the cops somehow knew by looking at him that he was a psionic.......


I plan on visiting the folks for about a week. I haven't seen them in a while, and I can beg some more money off of them :)

OK, you are 60.... whatever. Changing is a good idea, or you can keep it. I am kinda sad we don't have a protomorph yet.
Protomorph= A morpher with a one-shot random transformation. Some of them get awesome powers and fame. Others get cruelty and mediocriety. The most visual understanding of psionics.

I'm ok with that. Two dudes with electrical powers... it could be interesting. Especially since they seem to be so different in magnitude. Deacon's is strong and uncontrollable and Ryan's is weaker but more finely-tuned.

So I guess we'll have to figure out another way that we got out of stasis? And when I'm not so bloody tired I'll brainstorm for ways he could have been tricked into stasis if you want.

Could never have been in stasis at all. I think I am getting tired of the "everyone in statis thing." Just keep it at a young age. Could have run from the Academy after an attack, which you did not know it was me, and HK's character picked you up. *shrugs* it is your character.
