Skyla hopped out of the helicopter and promptly fell on her face. She might have a whole bunch of extra features...but her klutziness didn't go away. She sighed and pulled herself up, brushing the dirt off her jeans. Her and the other guy had ridden the whole way here in silence, since they weren't able to talk over the sound of the chopper and the idea to communicate telepathically had never occurred to her. This was like first impression time, and of course she had to embarrass herself.

She turned and grabbed her black tote bag. That's all she brought since they had told her that the house would have everything they would need, including clothes. She ran a hand through her hair and looked at the house in wonderment.

It was a large, chocolate brown, wooden mansion. 2 stories tall with lots of windows. It was surrounded on all sides by trees and she imagined that this place would be hard to find if you didn't know exactly where it was. She ran up to the porch and opened the door, where she was greeted by a large fluffy dog jumping up on her. She smiled and noticed a piece of paper fluttering on his collar, she grabbed it and discovered it was a note that read: This is Keiji, he is also cyberized. Hope you like dogs she shrugged and handed the note to the guy from the helicopter so he could read it, and moved on into the house. She nodded her head in approval at the living room and kitchen. She set her bag on one of the green chairs in the living room and turned and kneeled in one swift movement, opening her arms in a big hug gesture. Keiji understood and ran into her arms, where Skyla hugged and petted him happily "You are sooo cute!" She said happily.

The whole ride over had been silent. Not even the slightest bit of chit chat or telepathic communication had been attempted by the either too parties. Before they had boarded the helicopter he had sent, what he assumed to be, the telepathic equivalent of a friendly nudge to the girl that was to be his new companion. He wasn't exactly sure where he was going, or what to expect when got there. He knew for a fact it was a tropical island not too far from Africa, in what he presumed to be international waters. International waters was the best, there weren't as many restricting laws as there were in any part of the ocean that had claim laid on it, not to mention that no country really wanted to get them self into the political muck of interfering with the independent islands that existed in them. He hadn't been filled on the details, but they were rather hasty to get them out of the states. He was filled in about there accommodations, but he wasn't prepared as to what they'd fine when they got there. The government was surprisingly modest about there property; a large house with services fit for comfortable accommodations sounded like a beach resort, not a mansion. He stepped into the helicopter in a show-offish way, lifting his leg up to the metal brim with ease and using one arm to pull him self up. With all the advancements he had in his body he probably deserved the appearance, it definitely wasn't strenuous.

He glanced out of the window a few times on the ride over, the waves coupled with each other before receding into the ocean, and once again reappearing a short distance from their point of descent. He glanced over a few times to the girl across from him, he sent out a telepathic wave to see if he could sense any of her emotions, that was all part of it, talking and feeling were all the same thing when it came down to this sort of communication. Although he had been trained slightly in the facility back on the ground, he wasn't an expert in his craft, not quite yet. He couldn't get anything, except perhaps the fleeting sense of nervousness. This is something he felt too, he hadn't known her for too long, "first impressions" normally included a bit more then a few experimental "mind-nudges", and he had nothing more then that. He wasn't really able to make a definite decision about her, but rarely did he ever with anyone else. Her eyes were of different colors, that normally signified some sort of color blindness or otherwise defect in her iris, but from what he could tell they were just of too different shades, a mishap of co-dominance perhaps. They looked mystical to him in some way, they reminded him of some of the star-nursing nebulae he had spent hours gazing at through a telescope in his backyard. That made him smile, something he could connect with, weather it made sense or not.

It had been hours sense there last landing, he had his head tilted lazily to the side, his fore head touching the cold metal of the helicopter. The air conditioning had come on so inconspicuously he had barely noticed a change in environment. He half expected to leave the flying vehicle to an island with a chilly breeze. From the clear safety glass he could see it, a sandy shore with palm trees and crystal clear water which slowly changed to the cyan color that matched his eyes, and then out into a deeper shade of blue very far from the shore. The water was generally shallow, there seemed to be a coral reef under the surface, which he imagined must have been an illusion of the water, some rocks perhaps. Coral was rare, he didn't think he'd be seeing any where they were going. As they approached the island a glimpse of a massive house, no, a complex could be just barely seen under the tallest of the trees. A glass wall with brown wood in between the windows, inside he could see some been bags and what appeared to be a small library. The mansion, what he had determined was the proper terminology for the structure, was made of brown wood that appeared to be expertly crafted, the whole thing was designed to please the eye, that was obvious. A wide grin spread across his face. All the people who struggled in life to become great may never see such a lavish design, and he reveled in the irony. How privileged he had become, he couldn't help but let the evil little grind sit on his face for a few seconds, before the helicopter came to a halt in the air, levitating and turning slightly clockwise, before making a slowly decent to the ground.

He let her step out first, she was closer to the door anyway. She hopped out, and fell, face forward. He fought back the urge to fall into a fit of laughter as she rose and brushed her self off. To the opposite effect he slid out of the helicopter with little trouble, his feet impacting the ground lightly and displacing a bit of dirt. He turned his neck in one direction, and then another, letting the kinks come out before stretching his arms extensively, and putting his leg out to allow the muscles to finally release them self from there compressed state. Staring at the mansion he reached one arm over his head and held his elbow with his other arm, repeating it once more with the opposite arm, and finally resting when he was sure that wear of travel had left him. Now this was a sight.

Struggling to take his view from the massive building he grabbed his luggage, and pulled the bag open momentarily. He made sure everything was there, not that it mattered now, and proceeded to put the strap around his right shoulder. He proceeded forward and the blades of the helicopter began to turn once more, kicking up a storm of dirt and minerals before lifting off and heading towards what Danny could only guess.

Guantanamo Bay had been built in 48 hours. He wondered just how long it had taken them to build this mansion. It seemed to be made with the utmost care, and beyond that everything inside looked quite new. It had either sat on this island for years and was serviced daily, or it was just built in the last month or so. If he had known what they meant by nice accommodations at the time they told him, he would have laughed hysterically at the understatement. Now he just looked at it, wide eyed, picking out the details and writing them to memory. He followed the girl up to the house, when she opened the door a mass of fur jumped up and greeted her, she passed him a note that apparently had come from the dogs collar and he quickly went over it. He hadn't a clue why it was called Keiji, but it certainly adorable. He took a moment to crouch next to the little creature and rub it's head, tucking the piece of paper into his pocket and proceeding into the house, the dog following not far behind. He looked about the entrance room of the house, and words were barely manageable. The idea that everything in there was hit, and to the same degree, he reminded him self, hers, had just hit him. He walked over to a couch and placed his hand on one of the arm rest, rubbing it slightly and watching the fabric shift from a lighter to a dark color, as all new furniture did, to assure that everything was quite real. He turned back to the girl that had come to the island with him and projected the words that properly summed up his new domain.

"Wow."

Skyla scoffed, "No kidding" she agreed in wonderment and grabbed her bag off the chair. She started heading up the stairs to the 2nd floor when she checked herself and turned around nearly running into the guy, who was behind her.

"ooh!" she said in surprise and held out her hand, which was her original intention "I'm Skyla by the way" She said smiling. "I don't know about you, but I want to see the rest of this house!"

She ran to the first door on the left and opened it with barely contained excitement. She took one look around, and closed it without a word, she turned to Danny and said quietly, "Umm, I think that is Keiji's room" She silently turned and headed off to the next room, her previous excitement diluted.

But when she opened the next door, her excitement returned and the second she opened the door she said loudly "CALLED IT!" and ran into the room, flopping on the half moon bed happily, "This is perfection" she sighed.

Her sudden spin made him take a step back, she wasn't the most graceful person he had ever met. He extended his own hand and shook hers lightly, he normally only greeted people that were older then him in that manor. The polite gesture reminded him of his middle school principle, every time they met in the halls or otherwise you were inclined to shake his hand, and then once more when you left. His grip was like a vice, he would quite literally squeeze your hand into a painful compression before letting go some seconds later, and the only way to counter his overdone hello was to squeeze back just as hard. He referred to it as having a firm handshake, but to Danny it seemed like they were taking there rage out on each other in the most civilized manor possible. It took him quite some time to get out of instinctive squeeze, and he was glad he had before this moment. "I'm Danny. Nice to meet you. Oh, and yea, I suppose we should go check the place out." He felt like adding finally to the greeting, he wondered why they had never been introduced back at the facility, especially considering they were going to be living together. He pondered that thought for a few moments afterwords, recalling every event up from the point he opened the letter, a young high school student, up to now, some super-human, and he did take another moment to consider that, being in a government mansion somewhere off the coast of Africa. That letter had given him everything it promised and more, much more then he expected.

Moving his shoulder once to reposition the strap of the bag he started up after her, the small dog was still following behind them, which Danny didn't have any problems with. The first room was a bit of a let down, there were toys sprawling on the floor, bits of what appeared to bone lying around and the general sense that it hadn't been vacuumed in a while. A Keiji sized doggy hole was at the bottom of the door, an obvious signal that this wasn't a domain for humans. He could sense that she had suddenly become a little less optimistic about the rest of the house, but he had a feeling that was some what like comparing a the room of a kennel to that of a five star hotel.

He continued to follow her, he could see that her hand opened the next door with a little bit less vigor, but as it creaked open the previous sparkle returned to her eyes, and he glimpsed her rushing into the room to jump on to a large white and brown bed. It had a head bored which arced over it like a waning moon. Next to it was a small table, the same brown as the wood used to build the mansion, and just above that a sun like lamp which he imagined at night would project a yellow light across the room. Small stairs led up to too parallel mirrors in the shape of a door, and beyond that a window with a view of the open forest. He could imagine sitting there and staring out at the stars, it was a highly appealing idea. She had made the room hers already, lying sprawled out on the bed with an attitude as cheery as they get. He had to admit, he was impressed. The room was made to please. There was a door that looked like a glass wall at the back of the room, and he wondered what was behind it. "Wow, rooms are good too." He saw Keiji scurry into her room and lay down the carpet in between her and him, dropping to the ground unusually fast and placing his head on his paws. "Heh, well, I'd hate to cut your introduction with your new bed short, but I'll be off to check the rest of the mansion if you'd like to join me." He smiled in her direction and took one more look around the bedroom before turning and heading down the hall to a door that was at it's end. He reached forward is right hand and opened the door. His face lit up with a grin, yea, this was definitely his room. (http://www.eroomservice.com/files/d_169.jpg)

It was large, with a bed in the center that had a large back bored with two lights on either side. The bed it self seemed to be made of a Tempur-Pedic material, and as he laid himself down on it he could feel him self sink in. He had never slept on one like this before, but it was one of the most comfortable things he had ever felt. He pushed his head against it and felt it contour to his face. Across from the bed was a large television, he always liked having one in his room. Behind the bed were three clear windows that looked out into the forest, a clear view of the night sky, he would have to request a telescope be put in near the window so he could gaze out at the stars in what he imagined would be a very dark night. A couch was already positioned there, something he was quite happy about. "This ones mine." He said aloud. He forced him self off the bed and out of his room, leaving the door open. He took a left out of his room and up the stairs, he thought he'd check out that room he'd seen from the helicopter, which he imagined must have been up at the top of these stairs. When he reached the top of the stairs he could see that to the right was the door that most likely led to the room that appeared to be a small library. To the left was a room that he hadn't really noticed, but could vaguely remember as a dark drape covered appendage to the house. He took a right, deciding that he'd start off with the sun room. He opened the door and looked about the room, some shelves with book cases were on the walls, and various bean-bags were placed on the floor. They really knew what people liked, he knew just about everyone would prefer to sit in a bean bag chair then a normal one. On that note, he had to consider why they hadn't completely replaced normal chairs in the world, but he imagined it was probably for the same reason people still used forks and spoons in place of the all-in-one utensil, the "spork". He walked by some of the shelves, looking over the books. A few seemed familiar, while others seemed quite enticing. "Not bad. Not bad at all." He continued to look through the selection, next stop would be the room that seemed to be all the opposite of this one.

(Wow I'm tired. Sorry for any errors I might have in this post.)

((Lol, I'm not surprised, your post looks great though))

Sky hopped off her half moon bed and was checking out her bathroom (located behind the large glass wall that you see in the picture, behind the mirrored doors I imagine that's where the closet is). When Danny requested they look at his room. "Okay!" She agreed enthusiastically and hurried along behind him.

Danny's room was a little smaller than hers, with a fancy bed and lights around it. Skyla walked cautiously into the room, gazing around in wonderment, after all, it wouldn't be polite to treat his room the same as she did hers. She poked at the lights around the bed a little bit, wondering how easily breakable they were, you wouldn't want to accidentally step on it when you had to go to the bathroom at night. But, all her thoughts of politeness, lights and midnight bathroom trips left her mind as soon as she saw the carpet at the foot of Danny's bed "Awesome!" She couldn't help exclaiming and bent down to feel it, could it be? It was. "You've got an insanely fluffy carpet" she breathed and she moved her hands around it, "I had one of these when I was a kid!" She continued gazing in wonderment at his amazing carpet and when she finally looked up, she could see Danny's retreating figure up the stairs to the attic.

Skyla hurried up after him and nearly died with excitement when she saw the sunroom. Light was pouring in over the tops of the trees, coming to rest on 2 humongous bean bags, with matching laptops on the top of them. Surrounding the bean bags were bookcases. Skyla ran her hands along the spines of the books before she got to her red bean bag, she pulled the matching red laptop off the top of the bean bag and sat down. She felt herself sink in, until her head was level with Keiji's big bat ears "Awesome!" she said happily and opened her laptop. Inside the laptop a piece of paper was there. Sky picked it up curiously and gestured Danny over while she read aloud:

These laptops are not normal laptops, they have the same function as a regular laptop (with all the chatrooms and social networking sites blocked of course) but each of these laptops are enhanced with a homing device, to help you find the "Buggy" which is attached to the underside of the laptop

At this Skyla turned the laptop over, and found a long, thin, smooth device, sitting snuggly in the bottom of the laptop. She pulled it out and found that it was about palm-width, red, with a large screen on the front. It didn't look very different from an iphone. She shrugged and continued reading:

Please keep this Buggy with you at all times. Each morning you will get a previously recorded video telling you the plans for the day, it has a training schedule already planned out for you on it. It will also alert you if any human comes within 500 feet of you and can determine if that human carries any weapons. This Buggy will be your lifeline, DON'T LOSE IT.

Skyla looked at Danny, "Well, looks like I got my cell phone back-ish!" ((their previous ones were taken away so they couldn't tell other people where they were, and what they were doing)) She looked at the Buggy and pressed the screen. It lit up to a small menu with 4 little icons, labeled:
Schedule
Messages
Video of the Day
Satellite

"Well, lets see what satellite is..." she mumbled and pressed the icon, it popped up to a map of the world, then zoomed into Africa, and kept zooming in until they were looking at a map of the house, in the attic room were 2 little dots, one red, one blue. "Whoa!" She said surprised and looked at Danny "I think you're blue" she said simply.

She turned the Buggy off and set in back in its place on the laptop, where the screen lit up and said Charging...Charging... over and over again. She set the laptop down and wriggled out of the bean bag. She headed over to the curtain and slowly lifted it up. Her multi-colored eyes grew wide and she pushed all the way through the curtain until she was standing on the other side.

The room was a large, windowless, regular square room. Lining the walls were shelves of various guns and technology. In the middle of the room was a glass case, like you see in museums, with various knives. On the right side of the room was a similar glass case, except this one went from floor to ceiling and held 3 black, skin-tight suits. One obviously girl cut, one boy-cut and one weird looking. Skyla went over to it and opened up the case, she pulled out the weird looking suit and discovered it was cut for a dog "Ohh!" she said delightedly "This is so cute!" she said wriggling it in front of Keiji's face.

((Wow, now I'm tired!))

((^___^))

He pulled the buggy off the bottom of his laptop and tossed it up into the air, it flipped a few times before he caught it in his hand and fit it in his pants pocket. Lifting his own laptop, he opened it to do a brief inspection. Inside he could see a small sticker located by the hibernate button, it boasted a processor that he had never herd of, and nothing else. A standard linux OS was in his own, probably for security reasons. They must have known he had a history with fiddling with electronics, and although he knew without a doubt he couldn't crack what he assumed was a 512 bit encryption in the web filter, they clearly were taking extra precautions. He rubbed the top of it almost lovingly, the computer he had back at his previous home had been his most prized possession, and just with a quick survey of the new equipment he was quite sure that the previous computer would not be a match for this new government issue machinery. Danny placed it back on the bean bag, it was probably excessive to be carrying it around the house while they continued their exploration. He glanced to his left to see Skyla already testing her buggy, he regarded her comment with a casual "yea", and watched as she pressed satellite on the screen. It zoomed in quickly, Danny could see the fleeting image of Africa go by before it took a position not too far off it's coast. The island held the image of Madagascar, he mumbled it to him self and continued to watch.

The next room stood dauntingly before them. The door was white, but unusual. Danny could see that it had been lined with a lead base just below the paint, something no one would have picked up if they did not have the eyes he did. He looked over to his companion to see if she noticed the difference, but couldn't make her opinion out. She opened it, and inside his smile only grew larger. He stepped in behind her, a room filled with guns and otherwise destructive technology before him, he looked at them all eagerly, wanting to test each one individually. Some of them seemed to be standard bullet firing weapons while others hinted towards a holding more explosive punch. He took a long look at the suits which were clearly fit for a him, a her, and a small canine. Looking closely at the suit examined the fibers, barely visible in the black sea were micro-fibers, interwoven and presumably stronger then diamond. He reached in and felt the strange fabric, the texture of it was smooth, and didn't feel much like anything else he had ever felt before. He stepped away from the glass display and started down the wall of guns, a collection larger then he had witnessed in the armory of the training facility. Reaching out he touched one, a cool metal sensation running over his hand, and on inspection of the weapon he could see that a light was placed near the scope. He placed his finger on the trigger and the light illuminated, becoming a green shade, and then changing back to a dormant black when he removed his hand from the weapon. Taking a wild guess he imagined that it would stop anyone who's not supposed to be pulling the trigger from shooting the weapon, an ingenious precaution.

Danny continued to inspect the room, moving down the first wall and stopping at a podium with a pure white container, consisting of no obvious windows. At the base of the container was another note, this one in yellow and red. He snatched it from it's perch and read aloud, "'Danny and Skyla, please, at penalty of life, do not open this container. We request that you avoid contact with the container, handle it with utmost care, and do not try and get to the contents within without permission and instructions first. Assume that all handling of the contents of this container are to be over viewed by an instructor, and attempts to break, open, or otherwise excite the material inside the container will be considered treason.'" Danny stared at the note perplexed, and even more so at the mysterious box. There were two finger print scanners, preforming a quick test he placed his right thumb on one of them, it glowed red momentarily, announcing the typical "access denied" statement. He placed the note back by the box, and lifted the container to inspect it for any signs of what might be inside. As instructed he handled it with the utmost care, and turned it to view it's broad side. There wasn't any obvious indications of what was within, but he would have to assume that it wasn't for him to be touching. Carefully he placed it back on it's podium, and resumed looking at the rest of the guns, brushing by the knives and examining there fine blades closely before finishing his circuit and returning to the center of the weapon filled room.

He glanced over at his new housemate, he hadn't taken much time to examine her until now, aside from the brief consideration of her multi-colored eyes. She seemed to have a very cheery outward attitude, but then again he was quite bubbly him self sense he had the operation. She wasn't that much shorter then him, maybe a one or two inches with the boots. There was something attractive about her, but he imagined that would be the same with anyone else with perfectly healthy skin and toned muscles, he certainly agreed with his appearance more after the operation then before. He tried to force his mind away from the idea for now, he thought it was shallow to consider appearance before character. All and all, Danny was fairly sure they would get along just fine, besides being a bit clumsy he hadn't noticed anything bad about her yet. Finishing his deduction he headed towards the door, he would spend some more time looking through the rest of the items later, for now he wanted to get on seeing the rest of their mansion. Next stop was the basement.

((Oi, looking back over my post it's, abysmal... So much editing to do. I need more sleep, it really kills my writing...))

Skyla ran her hands over the smooth black fabric of the suits. "It almost feels like snake skin" she said aloud, mostly to herself. She saw Danny looking at the guns out of the corner of her eye and rolled her eyes, she'd never been into guns, she thought they were too loud and obnoxious, she preferred something quiet and silent, like a bow and arrow. Just as she was thinking this Sky happened to spot a sleek silver gun sitting on the shelf, eye level to her. She picked it up, weighing it up and down in her hand. The handle of the gun was criss-crossed, to make it less slippery and easier to hold. She pointed it at the opposite wall, as if to shoot it, and somehow knew that this was the gun for her. She smiled and set it back down, heading over to Danny to see what he was looking at.

Standing on tip-toe, she read the note over his shoulder and watched as he lifted it and looked at it. She couldn't see anything dangerous about it either, but she sure felt better when he finally set it down. When he turned around Skyla noticed his eyes, they were like a dark blue with sprinkles of bright blue and other such colors. They were really pretty, and Sky suddenly had a spark of self-conciousness over her eyes, they were so weird. I mean, 4 different colors? That was the only thing she couldn't get used to. She dropped her gaze awkwardly and headed downstairs after him.

It took them a minute to find the stairs to the basement, but eventually they found it, next to the pantry in the kitchen, behind a white door. She headed downstairs and looked around, dumb-struck. 2 of the walls were lined with mirrors while the other 2 had various doors and fancy dojo stuff on them. She headed over to a corner, where she noticed another note and a small silver button. She read the note Press for personal trainer Skyla looked at Danny and, shrugging, she pushed the button. A short, asian, holographic man seemed to appear out of nowhere. She stumbled back out of surprise as the man looked at her. "Welcome, my name is Ba-Ha. My settings are set that we start training tomorrow. Do you wish to change these settings?" Skyla shook her head no and Ba-Ha knodded and disapeared. She turned to Danny, wondering what his opinions were on all this.

A few minutes of light searching concluded there trip to the basement. From the top of the stairs he could see the typical brown wooden walls, and what he believed to be a thickly padded white floor. He reached the bottom and looked around to a familiar sight, the room being modeled after a typical dojo, one he'd seen many times before in movies or TV shows. He looked about, impressed, wondering what kind of training they'd be under going in the subterranean room. Glancing in Skyla's direction he could see her looking at a silver button, he stepped out into the middle of the room and did a quick spin to absorb everything. He remembered going to something similar when he was a child, although it was short lived. Vaguely he could recall going to Ti Quan Do lessons with his friend, the basic and most common type of karate training present in the United States. Danny always hated it, not the practice it self, ascending the levels of the various color co-ordinates belts had always enticed him, however the continuous running and training had always made him flustered. Now he could imagine training for hours with ease, he couldn't say he'd honestly been physically tiered sense stress testing. Even his mental fatigue was reduced after the cybernetics were implemented. His body had taken on a sleep schedule that that would have been atrocious before hand, and now he awoke every time rested and capable of running another hundred miles, a lovely sensation.

Continuing to do his quick survey of the room he noticed calligraphy drawn on multicolored banners throughout the room. One above a door which he assumed lead to the equipment closet, one right of that from where he was standing, this one smaller then the previous, and another written vertically above a sort of shrine. He stepped over to examine it before being startled by a voice from behind, one unfamiliar and foreign. Turning around he could see what appeared to be a hologram, "standing" in front of Skyla, and greeting her. Danny noted the holograms name, an odd one he had never herd before, but unsurprisingly. It was apparently to be there instructor, although he doubted it would be leaving the room to assist them with gun practice or otherwise. How fitting he thought, a strange Asian man to teach them martial arts. He wondered for a moment why they chose that model for the hologram, but after some considering decided that it one, did not matter, and two, felt quite authentic.

He stepped back over to Skyla, she turned around to meet his gaze once more, he took another glance at her strange eyes but pushed the thought away for the time being. "It's a really nice room huh?" He flicked his shoes off and stood on the mat. Pushing his toes into a curl on the ground until they cracked inaudibly. After seeing her klutzy movements before hand he wondered for a moment if she was really a match for him, but then remembered the telepathic connection they shared. Unlike any other human on Earth, she probably was the one fair match for him. He smiled in her direction, perhaps they would have a spar some other time, for now he figured they should set up there stuff. Keiji came trotting down the stairs at that moment, standing rather absentmindedly as most normal dogs did, as if anticipating one of them to come over and rub his ears. "Right, well..." He adjusted the strap of his bag once more, having almost forgotten that it was there at all. "I guess we should go move in." Pacing towards the stairs he grabbed his shoes, he was pretty sure if he left them there he wouldn't be able to find them the next day, it was a big mansion, and losing a pair of shoes in there seemed like a bad idea.

An hour or so had passed. He tossed all of his stuff into the drawers without much thought to organization. Pajamas in one, socks and underwear in another, and just about everything else where ever it would fit. He laid on his bed, staring at the ceiling for a moment and letting it all sink in. He stood up on his bed, his feet declining into the fabric as he stood. Danny turned once, seeing the whole room and dropping back to his bed. Another smile appeared on his face, not that it had ever gone. His laptop was positioned on a desk with a chair pushed under it, he had found a key bored and mouse to hook up to it while he wasn't mobile, he preferred them greatly over the pad and integrated keys found on the laptop it self. After further examination of the machine he had deducted that it was quite possibly the most powerful laptop on Earth, of course that was just his deduction. There was still the living room to check out, and he decided that he'd might as well head over there now. Before leaving his room he sat on his bed, concentrating hard and picking up what he believed to be his housemate sitting in her room. "Hey, can you hear this?" He said, sending her the message from his room. He placed his hand into the absorbent material of his bed, and leaned back, waiting for an answer.

Skyla nodded in agreement to his suggestion and headed up the stairs after him, her heels clacked on the wood stairs audibly. When she got to her room, she headed to her closet. Before she walked in however, she happened to glance out her window, and her breath was taken away by the sight of the sun just starting to set on the island's horizon. She gazed out at the shimmering orange sun and the beautiful pink clouds. She smiled and turned back to what she was doing.

She gazed around her mid-sized walk in closet happily, there was a lot of clothes here, and they all seemed to be her general style. She ran her fingers over the shirts, pants, and shoes. Stopping to rest on a pair of tall, black satin heels that looked like they cost more than a flat screen tv. "What could this be for?" she wondered aloud and moved on to a large full length dress bag hanging by itself on a hanger. She opened the zipper and gasped, it was the most beautiful dress she had ever seen.

It was made of a black silk, lined with beautiful white designs of flowers and sequins, in the back it opened up to a lace up open back. It was...gorgeous. "Why do I need this?" she said, zipping it back into it's bag, afraid to touch it it was so pretty.

She moved over to a small dresser and dug around before she found what she was looking for...pajamas! In Skyla's opinion, there was nothing more comfortable to wear. She changed into a pair of pink and green striped pajama pants, a pink tank top, and pink fuzzy slippers she found on the shoe rack. "Ahh" she breathed happily and headed over to the bathroom, where she washed her face and braided her light brown hair into 2 braids hanging down by her ears. Finally she was finished and she flopped on her bed happily. This was so crazy! It all started with a small add she saw in a science museum she visited, advertising 1000 to anyone who was willing to take a few tests for science, next thing she knew she was giving up her life, not that she had much of a one anyway. And got this amazing new body. She stretched her arms up over her head, feeling the taunt muscles bend and contract. And now she was being shipped over to this house that apparently had everything.

She turned her head, and saw that Keiji had followed her in her room. "Hey, buddy!" she said, gesturing him over, she leaned over on her bed to pet his head, when her head was suddenly filled with Danny's voice Hey, can you hear this? Skyla gasped and fell off the bed in surprise, creating an audible thump. "oww" she groaned, certain Danny must of heard the thump she climbed back in her bed and, concentrating hard, replied "Yeah, what's up?" She hoped the hint of annoyance that was in her normal voice couldn't be heard in her thought "voice" but she had no way of knowing.

There was a loud thump. His ears picked up every note of it, a swift fall to the ground completed with a resonating moan being expelled by the wood of the floor. There was an obvious origin, right down the hall where his house mate had just made her self at home. He could imagine her, precariously balanced at the edge of her bed, his psychic call pushing her right off. That thought made him chuckle, he shook his head slightly left to right, and was a bit less surprised then she was when he got a response.

It was odd, telepathic communication. Sending the message wasn't much unlike thinking, you concentrated on the bits you wanted to say, and anything going on in the back ground wasn't going to invade the message; or so he imagined. His voice came out on the other end, probably whatever voice he was thinking in, and he imagined whatever language he was thinking in as well. He would have to do more testing later, perhaps planned this time to avoid anymore accidents.

"What's up?" He said out loud, considering it. Her words came in with a sense of annoyance, one he could actually feel. Ever so slightly, dripping across the telepathic link as they reached their destination. His bit his lower lip, although the sensation was strong it was different, it was as if he could actually feel her being annoyed at him. He could imagine the people on LSD or some other drug who claimed to be able to taste colors or some other odd feeling, and he imagined it felt something quite like this.

After a few moments of consideration he responded, figuring he might as well ask if she was ok, although he doubted the short trip to the ground could have hurt her in anyway, especially with the adamant bones and skin like spider silk. "Are you alright?" He questioned, allowing it to sound like the apology it was. "I was going to check out the living room, was wondering if you felt like coming..." At length that was the truth, he realized that the whole reason he pinged her was for the point of experimentation, but still it wouldn't hurt to have her come with him. After standing up from his bed he walked over to the drawer with the mirror above it and took his buggy, making his way out of his room and down the hall. He stopped momentarily to look the left, the suits were making him ever more curious, and he had started to long to put on the black scale like equipment. He had seen nothing like it before, and took some pride into having something custom made for him by the military.

Down the hall he stopped at her door and waited for her to come out, then continued down the stairs and to his left. He stopped at a room that had another look of the forest, just like everything else in the house did. He could tell by the increasingly dark blue and the orange to pink colors that illuminated the sky that the sun was soon to set. A sense of fear come over him for a second, looking out into the unknown forest on an island far removed from what he knew as civilization. He hoped he would never be lost in that forest at night, although he could be the strongest in there, he wasn't positive he'd be the most adept.

Regardless, the living room was beautiful. The floor was covered by a thick rug, almost like the one he had in his room, but not quite as thick. What was not covered by the carpet was marble, and the rest of the room was a bright cheery color, the kind that a living room should be. A few extra seats then necessary could be located within the room, one large sofa as well as a small stool and soft looking chair. Behind the sofa was a curtain, of which he didn't pay much mind to. In front of the couch was a low lying cabinet, and on the wall a TV that looked very expensive. With further examination he could locate all the components of the surround sound, it would be a great place to watch movies in. He pictured him self, sitting there, lying back watching some horror movie, no light but the dim glow of the television and the moonlight filtering in through the open window. He imagined looking out into the forest, a small stretch of lawn before it for shadows to dart about and play tricks on his eyes. A grin spread across his face, it sounded a lot like fun.

"Not bad, can't say I'm surprised though." The rest of the house was just as amazing, there was nothing in there that wasn't actually meant to make them feel pampered. That was wonderful: finally living the life of luxury he had always wanted, with just about everything he wanted. Spare a few friends and internet connection, and this would be his ideal life; living on some island with a great view, an awesome mansion, and even better material possessions. "Ya know what... I think we made a good choice going with that ad." He glanced over at her and smiled, the situation certainly called for it. He remembered his mother telling him that he was an idiot for accepting it, but that had only fortified his want to go. Normally people doubting you did that. He took a seat on the couch, flipping his feet up on the wooden table, which regardless of it's initial purpose would now serve as a foot rest. Life was good.

Skyla rubbed her hip, it wasn't that bad, it was happened on a normal basis with her, she shouldn't have been so angry with Danny, it wasn't his fault. Just as she was thinking this Sky's head was filled with the sensation of Danny's voice. It was a weird feeling, his 1st message came as a sort of apology/question Are you alright? followed by a change of subject I was going to check out the living room, was wondering if you felt like coming... And the thought kind of trailed off, just like it would in normal thought, Skyla considered this as she answered "Yeah I'm fine" she sent with a reassuring tone to it, "I'll be right out" She hopped out of bed and realized she was still wearing her pajamas...ehh. Whatever, they were house-mate's now, he was going to be seeing her in pajamas a lot, might as well get used to it. The brief thought of how a baby born with experimented on parents would be, but she quickly pushed that thought away, it was way to weird to start thinking about that sort of thing.

She took the time to grab a green aeropostale jacket out of the closet though, adding to her pink and green outfit. Before she opened her door, to where Danny was standing, waiting for her. She smiled and followed him down to the living Hey, this is my kind of room. she thought happily to herself as she gazed at the pretty furniture and nice view.Ya know what... I think we made a good choice going with that ad Danny commented to her as he plopped himself on the couch, putting his feet up on the coffee table, Skyla chose to ignore this particular act and stepped carefully over his feet, settling herself on the opposite side of the couch. As she sat, Keiji promptly stuck himself in between the both of them, rolling over on his back in a gesture of "pet-my-belly" his tounge lolling out the side of his mouth happily. She smiled at him, and at Danny's comment and replied ironically "Yeah, never thought selling my body to science would be this nice" She twirled a braid in one finger and rubbed Keiji with the other hand.

An awkward dilemma had presented itself before him. He looked down unhappily at his stomach, the TV was on, it had been for some thirty minutes now, although he was really just filtering it all through. He glanced to his left at his house mate, and then to the window, where a glimpse of a waxing white crescent could be seen in the sky. In a few days it would shine in full power over the coastal island, from what he could tell it would be quite a spectacle. The forest canopy seemed to have turn black and white, the bottom shaded so heavily by the over lapping trees it became invisible, and the top soaking up the moon light, like sunflowers turning towards the sun. Beyond there was an expanse of vast wilderness, a sight that belittled him. The realization that he was alone, or almost alone, on an island came to realization, and a wave of depression threatened to roll over his skin. He sighed, looking at the TV for a second, then back over to his house mate, the frown was replaced by a resigned smile. Danny wasn't alone, he just needed to get to know the company.

Though the nagging continued. His stomach pleaded for his attention, he straightened his back, particularly unexcited about having to get up and make something. For that matter, he wasn't really sure what he was going to make. He could eat just about anything, and that was literal now, but after a long helicopter ride and hours of starving him self he was quite committed on something slightly heavier then a turkey sandwich. He glanced again sideways to his housemate, then stood from the couch. "I'm guessing we have to cook our own food..." The practice had become dull to him, sense he took the ad a few years ago everyone was made for him. He thought that even before the mansion he was becoming spoiled, Perhaps abnormally so..., he pushed the thought out of his head, and continued to the door. "And I think we both still need to eat." He chuckled lightly, as he did, and headed down the kitchen. He'd passed through it earlier today, but never went through the cabinets. He didn't know what to expect. After seeing Ba-Ha and their cybernetic pooch he have expected a robot chef would materialize before him.

Opening one of the cabinets he was rushed with an intense sense crushing scent, he forced himself to breath in slowly and let his senses get used to the varying smells. Spices, all of them. He saw a few familiar ones, rosemary, parsley, sage, and a few more, but the rest of the hint to what the rest of containers held were the labels, some of them looked hand made and others he expected weren't written in English. He took a step back. This cabinet certainly wasn't for him. "Yea..." He said at length, closing the first cabinets and continuing to the right. The one next to that was a lot friendlier, but still, he wouldn't have a clue of what to do with most of the stuff. Flour, sugar (of the brown and white variety), salts and pepper (which was placed in there for simplicities sake), as well as pancake mix and instant cake batters, muffin makers, and everything else that most people knew how to handle. He could of course make pancakes for him self, or omelets or grilled cheese or something, but he wasn't very good at flipping, and laziness generally lead him to either A, canned soup, B, lunch meat, or C, peanut butter and jelly: which despite not being an "adult" food, he loved like he did when his grand mother first made them for him. He closed this one too, and decided to see what was in the refrigerator.

This was the problem. The military probably ordered professionals to stock this kitchen, and it was stocked for professionals. There was no lunch meat, however, in the freeze, was a turkey, all he had to do was cook and cut it him self. There was peanut butter, and there was jelly, and so he could go ahead with that classic combo, but aside from not wanting to make him self look like a dork in front of his knew companion, he decided he'd take a pass. Canned soups, there were a lot of them, but he couldn't stand the idea of eating them at that moment. They didn't fit the mood at all. He really only ate soup in the winter. He sat down at the table, looking it over, it was a really nice table, and turned him self to face Skyla. "Hey, uhh-" He started after a resigned sigh. "Do you know how to cook?"

Skyla lounged on the couch, patting Keiji absently, lost in her own thoughts. They were both silent, probably just thinking about how weird their day had been. Well at least she was thinking about it. She couldn't really speak for Danny. He commented on needing to eat and got up.

Skyla gazed after him lazily, not wanting to get up, but as soon as she saw him poking around the cabinets. She pulled herself off the couch and came up behind him, watching him look at the food with an amused expression on her face. It was obvious he didn't know what he was doing, and it gave Sky a feeling of superiority to finally have something above him. He finally gave up and sat down, sighing Do you know how to cook? he said, giving her a hopeful look. She couldn't hide the smirk on her face as she smiled and pretended to think about it "Do I know how to cook?" she pondered looking around the kitchen, "I've lived on my own for..." she thought for a second "About 7 years, if you count my boarding school high school, which I do. I think I can whip up us something" She smiled and moved over to the kitchen, digging through the freezers. "Hmmm....how do you feel about something easy? Like pizza and salad?" She pulled out the frozen pizza, waving it at him before she set it on the counter. She pulled out all the salad stuff, letucce, tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, croutons, cheese, red onions, and dressing. She set the oven to preheat and turned back to the salad.

She set to work chopping up the vegtables with a practiced hand, she poked around the drawers until she found a large green bowl, salad prongs, and a grater. She poured all the vegetables in the bowl and as she was doing so she said, "As long as we are still getting to know each other, I want to let you know, if we are going to live together" she paused realizing how weird this sounded, but continued on anyway "I only have one rule: don't touch the kitchen. I'm a good cook and I promise I'll keep you properly fortified, I get really testy when people try to control my kitchen. If you just want a snack, I'm okay with you getting an apple or whatever, but I'll be in charge of all the meals okay? If you do that, I'm sure we'll get along fine." She smiled encouragingly and put the finished bowl of salad on the table in front of him, "So, what kind of dressing do you like?"

This relationship would work out perfectly, at least in the kitchen. She said he'd get food, and he had to do was not make it? He'd have said it was unfair, but he guessed some people liked to cook. "So let me get this straight..." He said at length, putting a short pause before his next statement, "I get food, and all I have to do is not make food? Sounds good to me." He grinned at Skyla, if she liked to cook, he wouldn't be the one to stop her.

"What kind of dressing do I want?" He thought the question odd. He hated salad until they changed his taste buds around a bit. Ever sense he liked salad, but memories of gagging when he attempted to eat lettuce had followed him through his childhood, making him detest the food, weather he liked it or not. Even when he did dislike salad he always thought it looked good, the green leaves and vegetables created a sort of color combination that appealing to the eye, one you couldn't get with with a bun and a hamburger. He glanced back at her and shrugged. "Surprise me, I guess."

This was his other problem. He didn't much care for what he was fed, as long as he was fed it. If had to make something, he'd make it good, but if was given the choice of what to eat, he'd stay with one thing or be nearly impossible to get a straight answer out of. His mother would always ask him, "What do you want to eat tonight?", to which he would respond, "I dunno. Let me think." A few hours later when got home, after several spared seconds of thinking, he'd once again reply with, "I dunno." He'd rarely have an opinion of what he wanted to eat, it drove her mad. Luckily he doubted that Skyla really cared if he said surprise me or not, once again, this relationship was going to work out perfectly.

Starting by poking one of the baby tomatoes, he allowed his enhanced eyes to focus in on the pointed trident end of the fork. He applied some force and saw it pierce through the skin of the tomato, lifting it up slowly to his mouth, and putting it in. First, he noticed that the texture still felt he same. A smooth round vegetable, he rolled it around his mouth with his tongue, and slowly, with a bit of a wince, bit into the skin and allowed it to burst in his mouth. He paused for a moment, letting his taste buds grapple at it for a few moments. A look of elation crossed his face. "Oh thank god, they made me like salad." He said dramatically, and picked up the pace with his eating. It was still a bit of trying out at first, but when he found that everything tasted good individually and together, he just went ahead and chowed down. Keiji walked over to the table and sat before him, legs in front, his head tilted slightly to the side and peering up at him with begging eyes. Oh, how he loved when dogs begged. Some people would smack him on the nose, but remember his sweet German Shepperd it picked a tomato from his bowl and put it atop the dogs nose, holding it there momentarily. Keiji opened his mouth and bit lightly over the tomato and on to Danny's finger. He let it go and allowed the dog to eat it.

They say dogs are carnivores, but he called bull shit. His old dog had eaten everything, especially grass. He loved dogs, but some times he found that they were absolutely lovably dumb. Keiji didn't seem to really enjoy it, but he ate it anyway, looking back up like he wanted more. "It's a tomato, Dummy. I don't think it's your kind of food." Patting him on the head Keiji sat stood looking upwards, Danny looked in to his eyes and decided he'd try something. He sent him a telepathic command, he did have cybernetics after all. Keiji, go over to Skyla The dog looked at him, the loyalty glistening in his eyes, before turning quickly and running over to Skyla. "That's pretty cool." He left it at that and continued eating.

Skyla smiled, "Pretty much, except, instead of just not making food, you're pretty much not allowed in the kitchen at all, especially if you're going to make a mess" She said this with a nice tone, trying not to sound mean, but also trying to get her point across and slathered ranch over his salad, she decided she go with a safe dressing, everybody loves ranch, but not everybody loves Italian cranberry like her. She turned back to the stove and rolled up the sleeves on her jacket.

It was finished pre-heating, and she slipped the pizza into the oven and set the timer. She was pondering which was better, hamburger or sausage pizza, when Keiji trotted up to her. "Oh hey!" she said warmly and bent down to pat his head," I nearly forgot about you. I wonder when the last time you ate was." She turned to Danny, "We should have a set feeding time for this guy, with my old dog we would always feed him in the morning after we let him out to go, do you think we should do the same thing with him?"
Speaking of which, where even was the food? she thought to herself and suddenly got an idea, "Lets see how smart this cyber dog really is huh?" she said to Danny mischieviously and looked at Keiji, "Hey boy, can you show me where your food is?" Keiji looked at her weirdly "Fooooooooooood" Skyla repeated hoping she didn't sound as dumb as she thought she did. Keiji seemed to suddenly pop up and galloped out the kitchen door, Skyla watched him disappear, wondering if he was showing him where it was, or he just heard a squirrel or something. She looked at Danny and shrugged "Be right back!" And with that she hurried out the door after him.

She found Keiji standing at the top of the stairs, apparently waiting for her. She climbed up the stairs, nearly tripping on the top step and followed Keiji to his room. He walked in with his head held high, proud of his space and led Sky to a white washed door on the far right, what used to be a closet. Keiji looked at her and whined, sniffing at the bottom of the door and scratching at it. Skyla opened the door and found a 50 pound bag of untouched Science Diet, 2 dog bowls, and a laundry basket full of doggy toys. "Dang" she breathed and picked up a big pink ball that jingled when it moved. Keiji's ears popped up at the sound and he panted at her excitedly. Sky shrugged and threw the ball out to the hallway, Keiji running after it like a mad-man, and headed back downstairs.

Where she found Keiji with the pink ball in his mouth, begging for Danny to throw it again while Skyla smiled and announced "Found it, among other things" She sat down opposite Danny and picked up some salad.

Keiji's gazed up at the eyes of Danny with an intense longing. He held the ball in his mouth, back towards where it could just bearly fit, sticking his nose up and waiting, his tail sweeping the floor in rapid succession. Danny reached down and pulled it from his mouth, examining it before tossing it off towards the door. His mother would have killed him if he had been tossing it back at his old house, and Danny himself could see the logic in it. Keiji had his jaw wrapped around the pink orb before it could even settle into a roll, jumping up at it and twisting his body around in one fluid motion, before dashing backing into the kitchen, his legs a brown and white blur. He looked up at Danny again, but this time he simply patted him on the head and spoke aloud, "Now now, I'll take play with tommorow." The thought crossed his mind of when and where Keiji went to the bathroom, assuming he was like any normal dog he'd have to let him out. Danny arrose from his seat and reluctantly trudged over to the door, his other dog had always been so annoying to take out, he practically had to drag him back in if he really wanted to take a walk. The thought of allowing Keiji to run off into the jungle sent a shiver down his spine, mostly because he would be inclinded to run in after him.

Opening the front door he looked down at Keiji, telling him, in the most commanding telepathic way he could, "Go to the bathroom." In thought form it wasn't so much of a mouthfull, and he figured itwould suffice. He ran outside in the same passionate way he had chased the ball, the dog din't seem to tire, and he definitly ran alot faster then any normal dog could. Thanks to the cybernetics Keiji would be all but impossible to catch if he ran off, Danny believe he could probably keep up with the small physically altered canine, however he doubted that he could manuvere like he could. Danny's pupils expanded wildley, the night around him was dim, but everything could be made out. He could tell through his new night-vision enhanced eyes the difference between the ferns, and with the help of the moon light could easily make out Keiji's form spriting into the woods. He wondered if the changes from the cybernetics were something he'd ever see as normal, or if his brain would constantly be reminding him of their effects. Either way, he had to admit his new "talents" were nothing short of badass.

"Keiji?" He asked aloud, followd by a telepathic probe. The dog had charged off into the bursh for a moment, and Danny wanted to get him back in sight before he ran too deep. Before he could send out a second call he was back in sight, spriting back towards the house with his tounge hanging to left. He covered what seemed like a hundread or so feet in a few seconds, and stopped before Danny, panting and breathing hard, but with little sign of being tired. He decided he'd see just how fast Keiji could run, walking back into the kitchen and picking the ball back up from where Keiji had dropped it. He raised his arm back, and pointed towards the most vast extent between him and th forest. His muscles contracted, his arm swinging forward in a hurling motion before sending the ball flying off towards the woods. Danny thought his eyes were fooling him, the pink sphere had traversed the distance quicker then it could make it's falling arc, and landed somewhere deep in the woods. "Fuck me..." He whispered under his breath in astonishment, the boys back home would be jelous of this if they ever herd of it. "Oops, sorry." He said, apologizing for the profanity. "That's one ball we'll never see again." He glanced down to his left, Keiji was gone.

Looking upwards he could see the little shadow sprinting off into the forest, running like all hell was on his tail. Danny took a step forward, not thinking to send him any stoping command. He almost wanted to let the dog go, see if he'd actually find the ball hidden amoungst the brush. He stopped momentarily, watching him pass the first wall of nature that seperated him from Danny's line of sight. "You've got to be kidding me. Did you see that Skyla?" Twenty or so seconds passed, he reasoned at thirty he'd demand Keiji to come back, but it would not come to that. The dog was back, headed across the lawn with a pink ball in it's mouth, presenting it self once more at Danny's feet. He reached down and gripped the ball from his mouth, looking at it to make sure it was the same one he had tossed in. "Well, aren't you full of surprises?" He patted Keiji on his head, told him he was a good boy, and walked back into the kitchen. His bowl was empty, but the pizza was almost done. Pulling his chair out he sat down once more, staring at his empty bowl and then over to the oven, the pizza wouldn't take too much longer to be done, and he decided he'd spare the salad and save some room for the actual meal. Even if he liked salad now, he liked pizza better.

Skyla was smiling and giggling along with Danny at Keiji as he bounded for the ball. Danny got up to take Keiji out to go to the bathroom and Skyla stayed, eating her salad. But when she heard a familiar voice calling out "Keiji?" she decided she'd better check it out.

She found Danny with his arm extended, and no Keiji. Sky quickly realized what happened and paused for a moment, pondering what to do. "Well, we co-" her words were cut short as a small ball of fluff came tumbling out of the woods, pink ball in his mouth. "Dang!" she couldn't help exclaiming as she patted Keiji on the head.

They headed back to the kitchen and Skyla cleared away the plates, rinsing them off and sticking them in the dish washer. When she finished, she made a move to go sit back down at the table, but just as her bottom touched the seat, the oven binged, signaling the pizza was done. She sighed and got back up, taking the pizza out of the oven. She dug around until she found a pizza slicer and set to work. After she finished she carried it over to Danny, who promptly dug into it. She grabbed a couple slices for herself and started eating.

He thought it was cute the way she said "dang". Back when he was still in highschool he spent most of his time on computers, with friends, over the microphone. Profanity wasn't much of an issue, they were, if not used in succession or anger, little more then ways of stressing a subject. He continued to chew his pizza, staring down at the dying-pacman like pizza, and wondered if he had lost some portion of innocence he wished he hadn't. Danny shook it off, as he normally did, at that moment anything so philosophical would give him a headache.

The pizza was good, by any standards. He remembered eating a pizza from a place in Trenton New Jersy once, although the city streets were often littered with the bottom dwelling creatures of the world, the pizza was the best he'd ever tasted. Neon lights etched the whole parimeter within the store, it's edifice was little more then that of a deli or convinence store, but it extended some ways in. Like an icecream store it had a window you could stop at and order from their, he thought it all quite comical, but he certainly cherished the moment. The pieces were rich and flavorful, always covered in greece and ocassionaly garlic, he'd go their with his father and get a large pie of sausasge and peperoni, which was rare for him sense his mother only liked plane. They'd force them selves to finish the whole thing, and the searing hot liquid from the pizza would make the roofs of their mouths hurt for days. For some reason that was all part of what made it good. This pizza didn't pack that sort of punch, but it certainly did taste great.

"Well..." He stated at length after finishing his slices of pizza. "Thank you for the meal, Skyla." He stated graciously, gracious that he didn't have to cook and gracious that he had gotten something good to eat. "I'll do my best not to mess around with your kitchen." Danny took a short look into her multi-hued eyes, he really needed some time to examine them. He could gather some fleeting images of them, but it was hard to make a good mental vision of them without having some time to stare. He promised him self he'd ask about them later, when he got to know her a bit more, for now he settled with the idea that he'd rather risk envoking some self concious reaction from his new house mate. She seemed generally bubbly, but everyone had their weak spots. Danny arose from his chair and pushed it back into the table, grabbing his plate and walking over to the sink. Below it was a dish washer, he inspected some of the buttons, and, although he should have gussed, they too were some what out of the norm. "Get a look at this..." He said, glacing at one of them which stated simply, and without much instructions, "FLSAN", below it was written "Flash Sanatize" in small black print. Aside from that button they were generally normal wash sequences. He opened it up and did quick visual inspection, everything seemed normal, except a bulb at the top with a strange aparatus on the inside. "Huh, that's pretty cool." He placed his dish inside, and then his salad bowl, allowing Skyla to do the same before closing it and moving the latch to it's secure position. "What time is it?" He looked over at the oven, it was only 9:30, and he felt it almost a waste of the day to go to sleep then. "Well, I'm going to go kill some time. Want to..." He hadn't considered doing anything idvidually, the thought only depressed him, he'd rather spend some time with his newest, and, after further consideration, only possible friend. "How about we go back to the living room and watch a movie or something." It was too late to be mucking about outside anyway, and at that point all he really wanted to do was relax.

On his way back up to the living room he found the thermostat, it was set to keep the house at 68 degrees farinhite, the "ideal" temperature for humans. He reached forward and spinned it slightly to the right, allowing it to come to rest on a small red lign marked '62', which, if within his control, it would remain between that and 64. His reasoning was simple. Sixty-eight was fine for a shopping mall or waiting room, but it just wouldn't work in a residence. For one, Danny had a tendency to use multiple covers, and keeping the temperature slightly below perfect allowed him to sleep under them without being too hot. His acceptable area of temperature was no lower then 58, no higher then 64, unless it was the winter, in which case he'd gladly turn it up to 70 in the day, but probably change it back down in the night. That was one of the good things about owning your own home, and so long as Skyla didn't have a very compelling argument for him to swealter at night, at this temperature it would remain. "I like it a little bit less warm... Makes it easier to sleep at night." He explained, "Not to mention, pajamas are warm, and I liked to wear long sleeve shirts... So, you know, it better." He walked off towards the living room, taking his spot where he had sat before, this time picking his legs up and squatting on the sofa. He grabbed the remote and looked over it, figuring they'd order something on demand, but found that a button was located near the top left that had "movies" written on it. He tapped it, eager to see what kind of selection they had.

It was great. Large, expansive, the interface was quite nice as well. It had little square boxes with a picture representing each movie, and option to sort them in alphabetical, chronological, or by genre. He tossed the remote to Skyla, hoping he would not regret it. "How about you pick?" He found another remote on the couches arm, it was simple and wite, with a notched dial on it's surface that turned left to right. Twisting it to the left dimmed the lights, they settled at a cool glow before he turned it to the right, where they illuminated to a bright white. Turning it all the way to the left turned them off completely, contant with the new discovery he leaned back againts the couch and waited for Skyla to pick a movie.

Skyla decided to skip the "Automatic Sanitize" and just went with what she was familiar with, the Rinse cycle. She pressed the button and followed Danny distractedly, glancing around the house. She noticed him turn down the thermostat, she didn't say anything, but she did roll down the sleeves on her jacket.

She plopped herself on the couch next to him, Keiji had already claimed the spot on her left. And watched him go through the movies before handing it to her, "Me?" she asked, "Well...alright" she went through it, pausing at movies every so often, Skyla had never really been a chick-flick kind of girl, preferring more action full movies...but she didn't like just blood and gore movies either. She gave a sly look out of the corner of her eye at Danny, trying to decipher what kind of movies he preferred. Finally she gave up and just picked what she wanted to watch "Pirates of the Caribbean" after all, he did give her the remote, if he didn't want to watch her favorite move, he could chose next time.

She sat back, waiting for how Danny would react to her selection

The movie was fine, he'd seen it before, plenty of times before, but it didn't get too old. The rest of the night went by uneventfully, sleeping in that bed was very odd, not much unlike falling onto a bag full of quick sand, it wrapped around him where he moved, and the sheets were smoother then silk. He remembered staying up until about 1:00 am watching shows on his own TV before falling asleep for a few short hours of sleep. In that time, which would have seemed like an unbearably short amount of sleep to his previous self, he had dreams of the island, a lot of them. Mostly adventurous ones in a surreal world, the most clear being a theme following one, sitting by a lake with a large white moon hitting the surface, the water rippling in a blue that looked like it was made from a crayola crayon, surrounded by a thick pine forest that lead no where in any particular direction. There was a weird thing about dreaming after the cybernetics had been implemented, they all seemed elongated, he could remember much more of them then he could before, and he always had them, instead of only on the weekends. His sleep schedule had always put him into a crash like state of sleep, where he had mostly dreamless nights and then awoke the next day for school, so vacations, the weekends, and summers were the times he got most of his dreams in. The sequence had always paid tribute to his more adventurous side, it normally strung together with several other dreams to make some sort of scenario, that, at the time made a lot of sense, but were nothing short of amusing when he woke up.

At six he awoke, he was fully attentive, not yanking him self out of bed or fumbling blindly to his drawers to get dressed. The feeling was so unnatural, something he thought he'd never get used to. Holding his hand in front of his face, his eyes perfectly tuned to the darkness that spread across the room, he could examine it in great detail, and the feeling of deep rest in the back of his head signaled that he was definitely not going back to sleep. Arising he did a quick stretch, he almost wanted to crawl back into the covers and allow him self more time to rest, if for nothing else but to be lazy, fall back into a dream, and pass some time, but he wouldn't have been able to if he tried. Opening the shades of the window he looked out to tree covered landscape, the sun would come up to his right and set on his left, and just now over the ocean he could see a shade of pink infecting the sky, orange and red close behind that, running from a yellow body trying to crawl up over the edge of the Earth. Danny tossed some pajamas on as well as a white tee-shirt and walked out into the hall, down the stairs, and to the front door. He sent out a telepathic ping to see if Skyla was awake, in soft, whispering thought form he asked if she was awake. If he had slept this well he wouldn't be surprised if she did as well, and although he wasn't sure when she went to sleep, she probably was awake before him anyway.

Opening the front door he walked out, stepping outside and sitting on the porch stairs, looking out to the burning horizon and watching the yellow mass peek over the ocean's blue vale. A few rays reached out over the dark waves and seemed to pushed the sun up, rising slowly, and finally beaming in it's full glory, illuminating the sky and changing it to shades of blue. The stars that had glimmered in the night disappeared, the sky becoming opaque, and the moon descending from the night sky to hide below the opposite horizon. "Good morning, Sol." He leaned back against the stairs, looking out to the great sphere and allowing his pupils to shrink to tiny dots against his iris. The buggy in his pocket emitted a short sound, he pulled it from his pocket to examine it, an icon indicating a letter had been received blinked in the right corner, he opened it and read to him self, "Training begins today. Make sure you are properly rested, eat something nourishing, and then await further instructions. Walking back inside he began to close the door, but a Keiji sized mass charged out of the house and into the woods momentarily. Danny turned and waited patiently, the dog was headed back twenty or so seconds later, its nose wet with grass due and accumulated water on the leaves of the forest plants. He waltzed over and rubbed him self against Danny's legs, Danny reached out and closed the door, patting Keiji on the head afterwords and walking off into the kitchen. After turning the lights on he sat down at the table, he could have a box of cereal, but then again, his housemate had just yesterday told him not to touch her kitchen (he disregarded the fact that cereal probably fell under a "snack"), and he planned to use that advantage to it's fullest. He did however manage to get him self something to drink out of the refrigerator, he chose fruit punch, but took the orange, apple, and grape juice back to the table anyway. Danny smiled, sipping some fruit punch; all considered, training sounded fun.

Skyla enjoyed her movie, being able to nearly quote it word for word, it wasn't hard to tell it was one of her favorites. After they headed off to bed, Skyla went to sleep nearly instantly. She woke herself up at about 4:00am quietly getting dressed into a striped blue and white long-sleeve shirt, jeans, and a pair of extremely comfy moccasins she found in her closet. She slipped out the door of the house silently. She walked a ways to her right, until she got to the beach of the island, the sat down Indian style on the soft sand and gazed out at the lapping waves, the glittering moon, all of it, just soaking it in. She had been planning this endeavor since she saw the setting sun yesterday and Skyla was extremely glad she did it.

After a couple hours, she got a soft message from Danny, asking her if she was up. She replied with a quick "Yep, just went for a walk" And stood up to leave, she noticed her Buggy binging and she checked the message. Before heading back the house, just in time to see Danny and Keiji disappear into the house. She headed up to the steps and let herself in, brushing the sand and dew off her jeans, before heading into the kitchen, where Danny was already sitting, sipping juice. "Good morning" she said cheerily, pulling out a egg carton out of the fridge. "Do you like omelets?" she asked, pulling out a frying pan and turning on the stove.

After the food had finished cooking she sat down at the table next to Danny, pouring herself a mixture of apple and grape juice "Don't judge my juice habits" she commented as she saw Danny looking at her strangely. She was just finishing breakfast when she happened to spot Keiji, "Oh poor thing, I forgot about you." She ran upstairs and, due to her new muscles, was able to get the food for him with ease, she carried the food down the stairs and set it next to the pantry for him, and poured him some water. Keiji dived into it, spilling some on the floor as he did so. Skyla giggled at him and sat back down at her breakfast.

"Figured you'd be up." He said, continuing to drink. "Heh, if it's of any importance I like to stay up late, I don't know... When I was young I always saw the coming of school as a sort of- well, perhaps not a bad thing, but something to be dreaded... So I ended up staying late, trying not to waste the day- my logic wasn't very great I suppose." He took another sip, he liked to eat and drink quickly, manners were something he respected to a degree, but there were a few things that he didn't believe in. His table etiquette was respectable where it needed to be, he knew how to be self conscious in places he needed to: which did not include home or with close friends. When he was younger he had once consumed a large piece of stake with his hands, his mother wasn't home at the time, and he wasn't about to return to the kitchen to get something proper to eat with. He wouldn't take to that extreme unless he was alone of course, manners were something that were shared with someone else, if there was no one to share with there was no point, but if their was he would maintain proper conduct. The things he didn't agree with are as follows. Humans were given sharp canines for a reason, him especially, so why should he have to cut something down past that of simple convenience? It was something he hated, being told to cut it up instead of just tearing it with his teeth. He would normally take any decent sized piece of food and either stick it in his mouth or hold it in front of him, hanging on the fork, and bite it off bit by bit. Next, he hated being told to pace him self. He wanted to eat, he ate. The fact that he was eating quickly should have been a compliment to the person who cooked the food, clearly it was sign that it was so great he wasn't slowing down to converse or- well slow down to breath in general. Further more, he especially disliked the fact that people didn't like when you "slouched" at the table. Instead of seeing it as rude he saw it as natural, how else are you supposed to get the food to your mouth without making a mess? Some times he felt conduct was civilizations way of impressing each other by showing how much they could limit them selves.

Although he was at home, he was being watched. He straightened his back slightly and breathed out, placing his glass on the desk and turning to Skyla, she ran off shortly after, leaving the omelet to cook in her absence. She didn't trip this time, he hoped she wasn't that clumsy. He glanced at her as she walked over and fed Keiji, with the ease that she carried the dog food surprised him, his muscles wouldn't feel it, but his mind still felt the burden of dragging around heavy food or salt bags, he knew it wouldn't be hard for him either now, but of course the sight still impressed him. She brought back their breakfast, he felt a bit guilty for having her carry it over to him, but he ignored it, she didn't seem to mind. She took some apple juice and poured it with grape, he quickly swigged down the rest of his fruit juice. "Oh no, it's all fruit, most of it goes good together." He said after, he had tried apple and orange juice before, he remembered the idea coming to him when he was at a resort in Florida, his younger self had tried to put the words together and make a new name for it, but had only succeeded in naming it 'Aprange Juice', this wasn't all that appealing to the tongue. "I'm not a particular picky person he said." Picking up the apple and grape juice and pouring them together into the cup. "It deserves a try, doesn't it?" He picked it up and sipped it, that was another thing, he hated the concept of calling a food disgusting before you tried it. He used to converse with a lot of British people, and their comments on peanut butter and jelly being an abstract concept or "fluff" being weird and their ragging on just about every other American food had often annoyed him. He'd try just about anything once, excusing a few things; bugs were not food. This wasn't bad though, stating the obvious it tasted like apple and grape juice, less flow and more clash really, mixing two separate products would often do that. However he drank it eagerly, it was something new, and although he doubted he'd continue to drink it unless reminded, for the time it would do.

After eating his omelet he lifted his head to peer at Skyla's eyes. He wondered if he should ask, but after a few seconds of staring, and her glancing back, he figured it'd be odd not to. "So umm, I like your eyes." He put on a confused face, like he was wondering what the hell he just said. "I mean... Well, they're kinda different." That didn't sound so great either, but it worked. He took another sip, allowing the awkwardness to wash over him.

Skyla was delighted when he tried her juice combination, usually people just said "eww" and shrugged it off. Skyla was one of those people who tried every drink combination possible, and continued to drink her favorites. Grape and apple, cranberry and grape, white grape and apple, just to name a few, sure she could get some of those fruit combination's in stores, but they cost more and it was easier to make it yourself, so you could decide which flavor you liked more of and how much of each you wanted.

So umm, I like your eyes.
I mean... Well, they're kinda different.

Skyla blushed and looked down, busying herself with the clean-up. "Well, umm" she cleared her throat "Apparently that was one of the side effects of the surgery, they said you might get it too, but yours are much more natural looking than mine." She caught her distorted reflection in the toaster and gazed at her own eyes while she answered. They were pretty unnatural, and different colors to boot. She finished putting the juice away and turned to face him again "So yeah." She finalized lamely.

"So I guess we go downstairs to Mr.Ba-Ha?" she said, trying not to giggle too much at his name. "I'm just gonna change into something more comfortable" With that she ran upstairs, stubbed her toe on the landing, and went into her room. She looked over the exercise clothes they had available. Which was very scarce, there was sports bras in all colors imaginable...but apparently nothing to go over them. Skyla sighed, apparently whoever was stocking her closet didn't think that she would still be self-conscious about her body. It's not that she didn't look good, the surgery took care of that, but that didn't mean she wanted to be showing it off so soon. So grumbling to herself she grabbed a purple sports bra and black shorts and put them on. She headed off to the bathroom to put her hair in a ponytail, getting another glimpse of her eyes as she did so. She tried to smile at herself, and looked herself over in the mirror, maybe she didn't look that bad, she just needed to put on a happy face and do it. And with that thought she trotted downstairs where Danny was waiting.

They went down to the dojo and Skyla went and pushed Ba-Ha's button. He appeared and smiled at them both "Welcome to your first day of training, before we begin, I need to say, all of the illusions you will see, they are real, or rather, real enough that you can actually get hurt. Okay, lets begin" Skyla was looking at Ba-Ha in utter confusion but before she got the chance to process what he was saying, the ground underneath her feet had started moving, treadmill fashion, to the back wall, where large spikes and flinging ninja stars had seemed to appear. The ground started moving faster and Skyla started running. It was pretty easy actually, keeping away from the back wall, but then the ground went faster and faster, going at an unthinkable speed, pushing Skyla to the limit to keep up with were Ba-Ha was standing calmly to the side. This kept up for quite a while, and Skyla wondered if it would ever end, but finally the spikes disappeared and the ground stopped moving. Breathing hard she glanced at Danny, he looked pretty worn as well. It was weird, this was probably the first real work out she had gotten since the surgery, and Skyla suddenly felt a little out of shape.

((okay, your turn to make up an excercise))

He had gone up shortly after he and unearthed some shorts from one his drawers, after stripping him self of his pajamas he tossed them on and took off his shirt, sending it through the air and on to his bed for future taking care of. When he came out of his room she was in the bathroom, presumably putting her hair into something more manageable for training. He noticed that the house was displaying a profound lack of gear. When they had gone down to the training room he was expecting something like the long white formal outfits from his childhood karate classes, and felt almost disappointed without the weight of some symbolic belt around his waist. It hadn't crossed his mind weather or not they had supplied Skyla with anything better, and leaning against the wall near Ba-Ha's calling card, he was taken by surprise when she came down in nothing but a sports bra and shorts. Danny looked over her in a new elevation of inspection, his enhanced eyes caught glimpse of every flexing muscle, and he appearance seemed almost greater then human. Near all flaws had been removed with the operation, and she moved with the grace of a great feline. Although he was sure he possessed equal strength and agility, she seemed imposing as she walked over to stand near him, and he wondered if his appearance would have an equal effect.

The thought was ended when she pressed Ba-Ha's button, the short man appeared in his usual unchanging appearance, suited with the same outfit they had seen last time, and presumably the only one he'd ever be in. Apparently the training exercise was more serious then he had imagined, but he didn't have time to ponder it as the floor started to run beneath his feet. A throwing star flew past his face, one edge caressing his cheek sharply before continuing it's beeline forward and disappearing as it reached the other wall. Without stopping to wipe the small line of crimson that appeared on his face, he began to frantically run from the menacing spikes and dodge all the incoming projectiles. The session was long and brutal, he cursed under his breath as it continued without end, one final shurikan flew by as he sprung to his left, vanishing as the first did when it reached the other wall. When the exercise was over his small cut had exaggerated it self, putting a thin layer of blood over his left cheek. He told Ba-Ha to wait a moment and fetched him self a towel, rubbing out the blood and inspecting the wound, where he found that the line that was cut in his cheek was all but gone. He stretched quickly, knowing the next exercise was soon to begin.

It would seem that the theme of the day was flinging items at them. A knife whirled past his face, but he easily dodged it, stepping slightly to the side with a smug grin on his face. This one was going to be all too easy. As the next one came at him and he prepared to step to his right, the ground suddenly began to shake beneath him. Reacting on instinct he was able to regain his footing, but his balance was quickly stolen from him as it rumbled further, he thought the ground had liquidated as it started to bulge and depress, he danced around wildly, flailing his arms for balance as more knives were spun from unseen post. The first few minutes had been the most challenging, and although the ground continued to through it's awesome tantrum, he twisted and turned, nimbly placing his feet on level ground where ever he could find it, and bending like a cat as the knives continued their onslaught. This time he did not curse or swear, he simply grinned while he skillfully dodged the incoming projectiles. In one hand he wielded a collected blade, to his surprise it hadn't disappeared, and he used it when possible to parry the swirling edges. He didn't have the time to check on Skyla's progress, the rhythm he had found was far too quick for him to lose focus for even a second. He slammed one more knife out of the sky, and twisted tightly, his back muscles straining as another flew by, while his feet danced below him. Soon, the rumbling stopped, and he found in his right hand he was gripping nothing but air. Wiping the sweat from his brow he let out a long breath of air, looking up to Skyla to see how she fared.

Skyla was just recovering from the run when the ground started rumbling and moving beneath her feet, she fell on her butt and barely missed being stabbed by a flying knife. She quickly hopped to her feet and was promptly hit by the butt of a knife in the back of her head. "Ouch" she mumbled, rubbing it. While she was nursing her wounds and small ninja star came flying at her arm, without even thinking she nimbly dodged it, still rubbing her head. Afterwards she realized what she did and smiled, dropping her hand from behind her head.

She realized she needed to just let it come to her, forget her normal clumsy self, and let her new body do the work. She sensed more than saw a knife flying at the back of her head. She swiftly turned and it flew past harmlessly. She continued to do that for the remainder of the session. Her new eyes seemed to be able to see 360 degrees around her head, and she was able to see every oncoming object before it hit her.

After it was over she walked wobbily over to Ba-Ha, her legs getting re-used to the stable ground. But her muscle's recovered quickly and she was back to herself. She turned and caught Danny looking at her and she smiled back at him. She noticed that she wasn't the only one without conservative work-out clothes. She couldn't help but admire his nicely toned body before mentally slapping herself, it was just the surgery she reminded herself, they both looked like that now, besides they would be living together, it would be kind of weird.

"Good" Ba-Ha said curtly. "Now we work on strength" He nodded at the far wall and the paneling seemed to slide back to reveal 2 large tires, the kind you would see on a semi truck. "We start with those. We work up to the vehicle they go to"

At that comment Skyla raised her eyebrow's at Danny...semi's? Ba-Ha directed them over to the tires and Skyla bent down and lifted it up. Surprised at how easy it seemed, it felt about as heavy as a 40 pound weight in her old body. "We do 50 reps, noooo stopping!" Sky felt a little threatened by this statement and quickly started lifting and dropping the tire above her head, to intent on her work to see how Danny was faring.

Zarma

Absent mindedly he glanced at the tire, then back at Ba-Ha, and once more at the tires. His expression seemed to represent someone stairing at two large tires, and wondering what exactly they were supposed to do with them. "Err- You want us to lift the tires?" Shrugging he walked over to them, relaxed if not some what grudgingly. He placed his arms around it, feeling it desperately begging for gravity to keep it on the ground, but it was no use, Danny stripped it of it's perch on the floor and lifted it above his head. The first go was easy enough, the weight barely settled in his arms as he lowered it slightly, but Ba-Ha demanded more, fifty to be percise. Pumping his arms up and down he continued to lift the large tire, it was surprisingly easy, but so was everything else he did. The practice seemed shorter then the last, knowing when it was going to end was a large aid in the process. After fifty repetitions of continuous tire lifting, he placed the large object on the ground to his right, leaning against it to stretch his back.

"Good, now we go larger." Lifting one eye-brow Danny pondered the practicallity of using truck tires instead of normal weights, but dismissed the idea, deciding it didn't really matter anyway.

"So what's next, Mr. Ba-Ha?"
"Sensei Ba-Ha." Danny looked at him oddly agian, he seemed to be doing that a lot. "You call me Sensei, or Sensei Ba-Ha, show some respect." The small asian computer program that was demanding his respect forced him to chortle slightly, but the slam of a wooden staff that had materialized in his hand against Danny's knee made him rethink the laughter. He gripped it and bit his lip, letting the pain subside. He thought of reaching out to strike his new trainer, but he reasoned that this would not turn out well.
"Yes Sensei." He grumbled bearly audibly, and allowed Ba-Ha to continue his teaching. The tires hadn't quite vanished, but multiplied, revealing two pairs of tires were the solo ones had just been. They were joined together by what appeared to be a wheel axle, and Danny honestly hoped that Ba-Ha hadn't been so serious about lifting the larger portion of these wheels. He wondered percisely what he was supposed to do with the heavy workout instrument, he reached down and lifted it with two hands, it weighed a crushing ammount but he found he was able to comforatably lift it without straining him self very much.

Ba-Ha instructed them on how to lift the bulk of the object. They were to raise it up, put it behind their heads, and crouch, lifting it with their leg muscles. He crouched, having the weight of the object on his back, more evenly distrubuted throughout his body it felt significantly lighter, but the task was still daunting. He began to push up, and found him self actively defying gravity in a rather efficent manner. "Good" He commented shortly, watching their form. "Now you do this fifty more times." Danny's mind entertained other thoughts of what to do with the large wheels, many of which leaned towards taking Ba-Ha's already short stature and sinking it some feet below the ground. However he kept to him self, and continued to lift.

The exercise was some what interminable, but he was able to finish without much harm done. Placing the two wheels on the ground after a count of fifty, he stretched out his legs and pulled on the muscles until they had finished decompressing from the work out. He allowed a dim grin to spread across his face, happy that he was able to complete the exercise. He rubbed his arms quickly, taking a towel and wiping the sweat from his head, taking note that there was a fair ammount less then there normally would be beading on his head. Although the exercises were hard, he felt as if he could do more. It would seem that Ba Ha had finished testing their strength for today, and the four large wheels and they're axles were vanquished from the room. So far stamina, agility, and strength had been exercised, and Danny imagined that more then an hour had passed. He glanced to the corner of the room and saw that Keiji was lying their and watching them, with his head on his paws and unjudging eyes peering up at them. He peaked back over at Skyla, she seemed to be undergoing similar effects as him.

Skyla finished 50 reps relatively easily and had just set the tire down when more appeared, followed by axles clipping them together. She sighed and turned just in time to see Danny being reprimanded by Sensei Ba-Ha, Skyla had to slap a hand over her mouth to keep from laughing out loud as he was struck across the knee.

He then ordered them to do more reps so she squatted down, placing it across her shoulders, at about 25 reps she was starting to feel the burn and by 50 her muscles felt sufficiently strained. She set the tire down with a sigh and watched them disappear mysteriously. She turned to see Keiji watching them work and she smiled at him, before turning to Ba-Ha who had started speaking again.

"Okay, last thing. We work on communication" He directed them to the middle of the dojo, where 3 pillows had appeared. "You sit here" He pointed and Skyla situated herself so she was sitting cross-legged, staring and Danny. She wondered what the 3rd pillow was for, then Keiji trotted over and lay down on that. "You work on channeling energy, and talking with mind. You will find that once you master speaking to each other, you can do much more. Your thoughts much match simultaneously. You can give energy to the other person or animal. If you are ever in trouble, you can call upon them for help and they can give you more power than you've ever thought. You must be careful though, because giving away power makes you weaker. You understand?" Skyla was listening intently and nodded to show she understood.

"But for today we only work on communication, transferring comes later. Now turn to the person or dog on your right and send them a thought. Go."

Skyla couldn't help but stop and ask a question, "Wait, what about Keiji? He can't speak to us right?"

Ba-Ha nodded "No, that is true he cannot send human thoughts, but you can send thoughts to him, and he can understand them. He can also transfer energy if needed, just be sure not to take to much from him or you might kill him"

Geez, this is kind of dangerous Skyla thought eying poor Keiji. She turned to her right, her person was Keiji and concentrated on sending him "Hello Keiji" in a nice welcoming tone. Keiji turned to her and panted happily, thumping his tail on the floor. She received her thought from Danny and turned to smile and him before turning back to Ba-Ha for more instructions.

"Now do the same, to the person on your left"

Sky turned to Danny and sent him a teasing "How's your knee feel?" referring to Danny being hit by Ba-Ha earlier. After wards she turned to Ba-Ha and he proceeded to say that they now work on communicating from greater distances and behind barriers. Sky was surprised to see a brick wall appear between her and Danny but she really shouldn't have been, she's seen so many weird things today...

Less reluctantly he sat down on the soft surface of the pillow, welcoming the communication exercise for what it was, a very much needed break. He had sent her mental messages before, he had even commanded Keiji to come back to him, the concept seemed simple enough to him. Danny wondered to what extent he could probe her mind, how far the changes would allow him to immerse himself in her, or vice versa, entertaining the thought of sinking into each others being turned out to be a frightening thought. He wondered if it was because as humans they were so unaccustomed to the idea of being so close to each other, or was it that forsaking his one place of true solace seemed like damning him self? Regardless, that wasn't what Ba-Ha was asking of him, no one was, this time it was just a simple exercise. As he rested on the pillow the possibilities still nagged at him, but he forced him self to concentrate, not wanting to receive another lesson from the end of Ba-Ha's all-too-real cane.

He sent an uncreative hello to Keiji, and the dog wagged it's tail ever quicker and glanced at him in response, making soft thumping sounds as his backside appendage beat the floor. Skyla's comment felt some what like sarcasm, hes knee pulsed relentlessly and looked red from where Ba-Ha had hit him. Part of had changed to a blue and sickly purple color as a developing bruiser emerged, and he wondered how long it would take to heal. Placing his hand on his cheek he found that it was soft and unscathed, the cut he had received was showing no more evidence of it's existence then a thin red line where a small remainder of blood still clung to his face. Linking to Skyla he focused on the throbbing in his knee, allowing the sense of pain to travel over. It kinda feels like it's been hit with a large wooden pole, the likes of which was wielded by a gorilla. He found that communication through thought was in fact easier then actually speaking, and he enjoyed it. One thing he often found annoying was that what he thought of could never be relayed quite right when done so vocally, thinking to each other was like sharing a mind. Every word came out fluent, and it was beyond that.

If language was man kinds way of conversing he realized now that it was very much imperfect. Words could only roughly describe some ones true intentions, and no matter how well you wove or sung them to shape they never quite represented the original thought. With this everything came as it was meant to be, it was hard to recognize with simple speech, but he could feel it in conversation. If this was supposed to be any sort of challenge to him Ba-Ha would be severely disappointed. Glancing to his right, his peripheral vision screaming that something was out of place, he noticed a large brick wall had spawned it self between them. Reaching he rubbed his hand on the cool surface the of stone, it felt real, but he wondered if it could actually stop them from communicating. He recalled sending her a message through several walls the day before, so he doubted it would do much to stop them. He found him self to be correct when he once again connected to Skyla's mind and sent her another message, I like this kind of communication... It's... Well it's kind of deep. He sent the thought over with the precise feeling he was getting from it, wondering if she was sharing the sort of excitement and curiosity it brought.

It's some what worrying though... He went on, the brick wall had changed to some sort of metal, it grew thicker as he continued his message. Hes saying we can transfer energy to each other, and that taking too much could have us end up killing one another. Not to mention, if we can go so far as to absorb energy from each others bodies, then what else can we do..? He let it trail off, the wall had turned to lead, but he had barely realized the change. Does it feel as natural to you? He allowed an emotion of serenity, one like immersing your self in an ocean of room-temperature water, spread through the thought to describe the sensation. The wall was gone, and anxiously he looked over to read Skyla's expression.

Skyla received Danny's reply to her sarcastic comment, and she couldn't help but rub her knee and grimace, being so able to feel exactly what Danny was feeling, and what he was trying to portray. It was almost as if she'd been hit herself. But after Danny's thought finished, the feelings and message's simply vanished, and she was left rubbing her knee like an idiot.

After the wall appeared, Sky closed her eyes, and imagined Danny and Keiji's figure on the other side of the wall. She could feel rather than see Danny and Keiji's mind, pulling her mind like a magnet, just waiting to be connected to her. She reached out (with her mind) and was able to latch on to Danny's mind easily. She was just about to comment about this weird discovery, when Danny sent her a thought. And a rather long thought at that.

It was as if a blanket had been thrown over her mind, all her thoughts were muffled and swaddled, and she lost herself in the message being relayed to her.

I like this kind of communication... It's... Well it's kind of deep. It's some what worrying though... Hes saying we can transfer energy to each other, and that taking too much could have us end up killing one another. Not to mention, if we can go so far as to absorb energy from each others bodies, then what else can we do..? Does it feel as natural to you?

Skyla felt like she was soaking up the message, like a sponge, rather than hearing it. She paused as she thought over an answer. By this time the wall had dissipated, but Sky didn't even notice, being as her eyes were still closed. She finally found the right words and emotions that would explain her thoughts and she answered Danny

I agree completely. It feels as if our minds are connected by a magnet. And this "clicking" together, it feels really natural, as if we've been doing it forever. More like we are just one body instead of separate people. And I wouldn't worry too much about the energy thing, we just need to watch ourselves, if we stay connected like this, it won't be hard at all to be able to tell when we've reached out limit.

She finished with a happy tone, letting her emotions wash over Danny like the ocean, before opening her eyes, and blinking frantically in the new light. Her eyes adjusted quickly though and her smiled over and Danny and Keiji. Before hopping up to her feet and looking around "Where is Ba-Ha?" she asked. It had seemed the little man had disappeared while they were practicing. She gave a weird look to Danny and pressed Ba-Ha's silver button cautiously. The man popped up and gave the same pre-prepared
message they gave them yesterday "Hello, I am Ba-Ha. My setting's are set that we continue training tomorrow. Do you wish to change those settings?" Skyla shook her head and Ba-Ha disappeared. Sky turned back to Danny "Alright, soo... what now?"

I suppose we go he paused mid-thought, realizing what he was doing, and quickly switching back to speech. "I mean, I suppose we're free to do what we want." He shrugged while making a gesture with his hand, not sure as to what was expected of them. Exercise was done, and it was quite vigorous at that, but the day was still young, and he knew he wouldn't be in need of rest for many more hours. Twenty minutes later he would find him self sitting on the couch, thinking of what his future held. Anything much farther then a week ahead drew a blank in his mind, beyond experimentation what were their applications? He knew what he had signed up for, but when he began to think of it excessively, he realized that what he had originally agreed to was quite limited; in fact, it hadn't even mentioned anything of much past the experimentation phase. Leaning back against the plush couch he glanced out side, beholding an island with a vast expanse of trees, hidden trails carved by every walk of life, and he began to ponder. He wondered what would become of him if he ever decided to walk out in the jungle, and try and follow every trail, and where he'd end up eventually, and how each trail would be different for choosing to take it sooner or later. His mind drew a blank, he looked out to the horizon, where the Earth had risen and the Sky reached down to embrace each other, and he began to compare it with time. He couldn't see what was past the horizon, but he knew something was there. He thought of how if he reached it, there would be another ahead, and as he ran to it, it too would run away in the other direction, alluding him once again. When all this was done he looked at the floor, and then over to Skyla, and felt a soft tingle in his mine, like a thin wire connecting the two, and in that moment he realized what he had been doing; sending Skyla the ramblings of his mind, or so he assumed, bits and bobs of it. Perhaps the practice wasn't to help them to connect, but to help them to prevent connecting. He blushed, turned his head, and coughed shyly into his right hand.

The following months were what Danny would describe as complicated. Everything from finding out the seemingly illusive limits of his body, to the mental telepathy he had been gifted, or occasionally cursed, with. He couldn't remember what all of their arguments were about, but they happened, and they passed, and in the end all was forgiven. Things seemed to go on a steady incline as far their friendship went, and as the months went by he'd occasionally glance over and feel a warm radiance flow over him when he looked at his companion. It was hard to dislike some one you practically shared a mind with, and he found that the idea of losing her became all the more disturbing with time. Occasionally he'd sit and entertain the idea of asking her out some time, but it always ended with him chuckling at the fact that there was no where to go out to. He considered her as a close friend, and it was hard not to when all of their training illustrated the image of them working together.

Along with their relationship, their bodies developed as well. Danny soon discovered that what he had been given was not his pinnacle, but more like a blank slate. He was capable of lifting things that would crush the bones of a normal man, and kept pace with a galloping horse. Keiji seemed to excel as well, when once Danny imagined that he could catch the nimble little canine, he now found the idea laughable. Along with physical abilities his senses improved as well, his already keen eye sight become razor sharp, capable of focusing and refining images near instantly, and capable of picking out the slightest difference of grain or color in a vast area. At times he felt that he and Skyla were becoming something else then human, something superior, perhaps what everyone was destined to become. The thought of the anarchy that might ensue if the technology was ever released to the general public made him shudder.

His skills with all weapons of combat had become amazing, being able to dodge incoming projectiles as easily as a gymnast might avoid a ball thrown by a child, and that his arms could snap to parry an oncoming blow faster then most people could see it happen. They practices with guns, and he near on never missed, he could imagine the bullet, spinning out of the barrel with a tail of dissipating flames leave the barrel, distorting the air around it as it flew above the ground, and eventually tempted back to the dirt by gravity. He could calculate how the wind would alter his fire, and how high he needed to aim to take out targets from a long distance. Not only that, but the more advanced teachings of Ba-Ha made finding a way to dispose of a target second nature. The forest no longer challenged him, he knew he could survive in it, but when he looked out upon it's leafy canopy it still struck a cord of fear in his heart, like no matter how skilled he became it will still swallow him whole, and he'd disappear in the void before he ever found out what was at the horizon.

Skyla... His mind mumbled allowed, he knew she could hear him, and he even knew where she was, he could feel him self being tugged in her direction without having to so much as glance at his GPS. They were in the forest, as they were often now, being sent on a three day long mission to retrieve a mysterious case with, if the mission had been real, some sort of powerful device in it. His mind would have assumed nuclear weapon, but he learned of much more devious contraptions in his stay at the mansion. His hand went down to his left thigh, where he kept an opaque gray veil with a top made of a sort of material that molded back into shape after being penetrated. If he ever needed to get rid of a whole base, that veil would probably accomplish the task, although he knew whoever his enemy was had means to combat it. Inside was a silvery liquid, or a colloid more so, that squirmed about with life, feeding on whatever it could get a hold of. A few standard syringed were back in a first aid kit that was on his right thigh, and inside, a blacker color the rest of the needles, was one designed especially for this liquid. If he were ever to use it, sticking the needle into the veil he would draw forth the deadly liquid, and inject it into a specially cased bullet. The rest was pretty simple, point, pull, run. That's what they instructed him to do, although he doubted he would have need for it anytime soon.

Skyla he said again, heading in her direction. They had established a camp where they were staying at until the container was found, once it was they had permission to return early and hand it over to Ba-Ha for inspection, when that was done they'd be put on a break for a job well done. That was training, more individual then instructed before, although they still had their morning exercises. He arrived at a rocky out look, an over hang protruded off a small hill, shadowing the terrain twenty or so feet below. Below the over hang was a small cave, large enough to feet ten people lying side by side, and two with some comfort room. Inside the cave were two sleeping bags, as well as supplies and resources that had been gathered sense they started the mission. Danny sat down on a log he had found which was next to an ashy pit where a fire had been, right outside of the small cave. A spit had been made, and the bony remain of a small animal was lying next to the fire pit. Nothing had come up yet on the search, but it was only their first day. He leaned back, planting his arms behind him and stretching his back. He sent her a few images of his surroundings, the camp, letting her know he had returned. Without a box, of course. Although he made sure to get through that he wasn't very disappointed, considering the scale of the area, this was much more difficult then finding a needle in a hay stack. And you? Although he already knew the answer.

((sorry Zarm, posting now))

Skyla stood up and stretched, "I don't know about you, but I'm hungry" she smiled and headed upstairs...

The next few months passed quickly and eventfully, she was worked to the max during training, introduced to tons of new technology that Skyla couldn't even imagine existed, including a new sleek black skintight suit that could do pretty much anything.

As far as her relationship with Danny went, they had their mild disputes, like any friends do, but they passed quickly and it felt like their connection even got stronger. Communicating with their mind came easily, as easily as talking and they were able to do it from afar.

Keiji was a little speed demon and the funniest ball of fluff she'd ever seen. In fact he was hopping around her legs right now, as she slid through the underbrush, under a fallen log. Haven't found it yet, we should check out the south side tomorrow. she sighed and stood up, brushing the dirt from her clothes. Me and Keiji are on our way she clucked to Keiji and he bounded up to her, panting like the happiest dog in the world. She giggled and patted him, lazily making her way to the campsite.

Yea, figured as much... He chuckled in his mind, thinking what a normal person would do in his situation, Find a small camouflaged box in the middle of the rain forest. I love our government. He did the equivalent of rolling his eyes mentally, he had mastered a huge range of gesticulations in mental form, the telepathic communication was possibly the much abstract concept he'd ever explored, but the chatting eventually became as mundane as normal conversation. It allowed for some interesting philosophical discussions though, being able to full express his full range of emotions in a way his companion could understand.

He leaned back, allowing him self to lie in the dirt circle they had made around the fire-pit, although it was unnecessary with how lush and wet most of the surrounding leaves were. The black suit often made him feel like he was naked, but it protected him from the elements and more pernicious hazards like thick armor. Hmm... He pulled out his buggy and set it to search for GPS devices, there was him, Skyla, and the house, but nothing else. Well they haven't marked it with anything. Guess it's not a very important box. It could be at the bottom of a lake and the military would never bother to tell them. He had been on a few search missions before, and some of them had ended up in pretty funny places; funny normally implying in the dens of angry wildlife or in impossibly tall trees. He imagined that they sent two bored recruits over that either chucked it out of a helicopter or purposely placed it where it would cause them grief.

Out of the woods came Skyla. Danny looked over from his bed in the dirt and watched as her and Keiji came forward, the little dog rushing over to give his face a tongue bath. He pushed him away, Danny hated when the dog did that, but seemingly bothered the little creature trotted over to the remains of the fire and started chewing on the bones of the creature that had been his dinner last night. "Hey." He greeted her out loud, greetings still seemed necessary when he saw her in person, even though he'd been talking to her for a while in his mind.

Well, I- hmm, my Buggy is ringing. He pulled out his buggy again, looking at the screen were the message symbol was blinking slowly. He reached forward and tapped it on the screen, it expanded, on the top of the digital letter said, "Mission Update", and then the letter proceeded a few lines down. "'Hello Danny, Skyla. The military has designated me to inform you that your current training mission, protocol scav432, has been canceled do to unforeseen conditions. They would like you to return to base until further instructions have been delivered.'" He read it mentally so that Skyla didn't have to pull out her buggy. Well well, he started, obviously happy with the turn of events. I guess we have to go back and sit in our luxury mansion, with the dehumidifier, air-conditioning, and TV instead of searching through snake holes. How unfortunate. He smiled, standing and stretching his arms. On the horizon charcoal black clouds were brooding. He found that the storms that invaded this part of the world were one of the most beautiful things he had ever paid witness to, especially the stark contrast between them and the blue sky just ahead. "Ha- I wouldn't bet it's the weather they're sending us back for." But he wasn't complaining. A few days of rest and relaxation sounded heavenly at the moment. "Well, let's pack up and head back." He assembled there remaining supplies, tossing Skyla's rolled up sleeping bag to her before heading off into the woods.

Skyla hopped up, her usual tons of energy returning at the new change of plans.

Maybe we'll get ambushed on the way back! Maybe we'll finally get to fight...

she wondered to Danny, twirling the slim silver gun around on her finger. It was the only gun she ever used, the gun she picked out before in armory. It was quiet and deadly and Sky was aching to use it. That was her latest obsession, actually getting to fight, sure they'd fought little holograms that Ba-Ha conjured up, and sparred with each other, but never an actual fight, never having that scary thought that any mistake could be the end of it all.

Skyla slipped the gun back into the case on her hips and followed after Danny lazily. She couldn't say she wasn't glad to be leaving. The suit was comfortable, skintight and didn't leave anything to imagination...but comfortable. She still would rather be wearing normal clothes though. Even if the features were really cool.

It doesn't look like we're getting attacked

She thought to Danny miserably. She couldn't sense anything in the shadows of the forest. And usually she was really good with seeing things normal people couldn't see. It was one perk she got from having quad-colored eyes. Sure she had contacts she could wear. But they made her eyes itchy and made it hard for her to see, when you had great vision..it's hard to go back. Plus they made her eyes an ugly vomit green that was just disgusting.

When they got to the mansion. Skyla walked in the beautiful air-conditioned house and collapsed on the couch sighing happily.

Emm... She really loved to entertain the idea that they were about to be jumped. There odds of meeting anything nastier then a disgruntled bear was slim at best, and human contact was quite contracted in the deep woods of Madagascar. Her battle lust was shared in him, but not without contemplation. Well, let's not be so eager to fight an enemy we don't have, huh? He felt like he was rather wise for the comment, but ignoring ones own feelings was of course ignorant. To cover, he continued, Of course I wouldn't mind beating up a few over zealous members of the militia... Heh- unlikely of course. The military put us out for a reason, if we're found it's via contact, and I think our friends in the states are all over them. Unless of course you suspect us to be jumped by some wild animal... Haven't you see the movie? Nothing but lemurs," He chuckled, it was true. Perhaps not the lemur part so much, but as with most parts of the world, they weren't often attacked by any life loving animal. He assumed they could tell who they were deal withing, even average humans could see how graceful they were, how perfectly they had been constructed. It was in the way they walked, their confidence, and their more appertain features. The technology kept them looking unfatigued and sprightly. Skyla sent him a sullen message about how they weren't getting attacked, and he had to agree with her feelings.

As they entered the mansion Danny had the idea of longevity in mind, one he had often pondered before. I was thinking... The tech rejuvenates our organs as well as our cuts and bruises, protects from disease as well... I wish I was more educated on the subject, I'm not too sure how deep the modifications run, He transferred his thoughts over quickly, including the idea that it may be in their very DNA, which would lead to all sorts of strange reproductive traits. Realizing he had digressed, he organized his thoughts and started again, Right, so what I'm saying is- I think we'll end up living a lot longer then normal people. You know- sense our body undergoes so little stress, repairs it self like a star fish, and is so efficient. Bah, probably not time to think about it. Anyway- Oh, yes! I forgot how air condition feels. He ran in side and spread his arms, letting the cool air to wrap around his skin, a warm and humid wind blew on his back, and he smiled contently. He shut the door behind Skyla and followed her to the couch, plopping down besides her and glancing at her in the black suit. He always felt guilty about looking at her when she was wearing it, it made him feel like he was staring. "Hmm... Perhaps we should get dressed into some more casual clothing." In the distance a large strike of lighting was sent from the sky, dividing before land fall and appearing to strike the earth in several different locations. You see that? I love the lightning around here. The storms really... He had explained to her before in limited detail about how he liked rain, especially storms, and even more so when you could view them from a room such as the one he was sitting in with a large window projecting the shadow of raindrops, giving the room a mystic texture.

He rose from the couch, I'll just go change. Maybe get something real to eat. Keiji was panting at his leg, pressing up against it. He hadn't eaten sense the night before, and it was getting around his feeding time. I'll take care of him. He set off to get Keiji some food, and then went to his room to change.

Skyla sat for a few minutes more, gazing out the large window. It was true, storms were a beautiful thing. After a moment though, she stood up and followed after Danny up the stairs, not holding back a smile as she saw her room. "Ah it's been too long" she said, going to her closet, "I almost forgot what fashion was like" She decided to celebrate by picking an especially fashionable and pretty outfit (http://wetseal.com/assets/ws/outfit_images/329550.png). She chose an asymmetrical striped top with a belted front, dark washed skinny jeans that she put knee high black boots over. She decided against the gray jacket, flower ring and square sunglasses that came with it. This was enough.

Before changing she headed to the bathroom and took a long awaited shower, glad to finally be clean after those days in the wild. She put on the clothes and dryed her hair so it curled inward at the ends. Sky sighed, her hair was so boring, just brown and straight, there wasn't much to do with that. She gave up and left the room, coming downstairs to find Danny already waiting in the kitchen.

"Sorry," she said pleasantly, realizing she'd made him wait. "I was just getting dressed, I'll make dinner now" she dug around in the freezer for a moment, she was in the mood for something complicated and delicious, she was sick of that pre-packaged food.

"We've got...chicken...turkey...steak...pretty much all meat stuff, good thing neither of us are vegetarian's cause these people sure don't provide us with much else. What do you want?" she said glancing at Danny

The odd thing about taking off the suit was that it's inside texture representing nothing of it's sheer surface, and, as he had been told, it absorbed the sweat right off his skin and pushed it out the scales. It was strange to pull it off without the familiar resistance of peeling rubber off ones skin, which is what he imagined it would feel like. Instead it slid off, it seemed to shrink, and when he folded it he felt creases being formed that lead him through the process. Did they really think he didn't know how to fold clothes? Disregarding the thought, he placed it on the shelf, and went to his personal bathroom to get a shower. Even with the suit on, he felt dirt clinging to his face, and from anywhere else tiny particles could manage there way into. He "masculine" scent was way too much for him, and the prospect of washing it away made him grin. There wasn't much time for showers out in the wild, and it was that lack of them that made him appreciate the opportunity. As usual, the shower didn't take long, he scrubbed off the layers of dirt and sweat that were still present on his face and in his hair, and when he was done he he finished by brushing his teeth and and going through all the processes one normally does after a shower.

Staring at his closet he felt impartial towards any of it's contents. Skyla was entirely more fashion conscious then he was, and as long as he matched he felt he was in good taste. Luckily most the clothes looked pretty good as they were, so it wasn't too hard to end up with something decent. He pulled out a pair of jeans and an Echo shirt with a an elaborate design on the front. He knew Skyla would be cooking dinner around now, so he made his way to the kitchen, Keiji jumping out of his room and following him down.

It took Skyla a while to get dressed, compared to him anyway. He looked up at her with a grin on his face, the time she had taken to get dressed was well worth it. Who are you trying to impress? He teased her, he was glad she wasn't the type to look a mess. "Oh don't apologize, you're dinners taste too good." He listened to her list off the food choices, not really sure of what he wanted, it all sounded good. Of course stake would always be his meat of choice. "Well... How about stake? I don't care what kind, I haven't had one in a long while." The rumble of thunder came, outside the clouds loomed over the base, and rain started to drizzle down.

Why Keiji of course Skyla replied curtly, giving Danny a teasing look. She pulled out the package of steak and plugged in the tiny 2 steak sized indoor grill that was under the cabinet. She put them on the grill, poking them every so often.

"How do you like it? Personally I prefer medium rare but I can do whatever."

As the steak cooked she grilled up some asparagus to go with it. Flavoring it with a yummy seasoning that would make it go down easier. I mean, they had to have some vegetables after all, it isn't a full meal if you just have meat.

When it was all done she arranged it onto 2 plates and set them on the table. Danny reached for the fork but Skyla slapped it away "Wait!" she said playfully "It's hot and I'm still not ready" She went back to the fridge and pulled out 2 lemons. "I'm making lemonade, and you are going to wait" she took her time, going slow on purpose to tease Danny. But even she got hungry eventually and she finished, pouring it into 2 cups and distributing it onto the table.

"Okay, now we can eat" she sat down, pulling the chair up behind her.

I've developed an acute taste for stake actually... I prefer it medium rare, where you can still feel the juices so it's not dry, and it's tender like when you cut into uncooked meat. That way you can chew it nicely... I also feel that when it's less cooked the seasonings aren't burnt off, and even more so, the Worcestershire or whatever flavoring your using is able to properly saturate without being expelled from the meat... Really, cooking it well is just burning out the flavor. He went on to describe how some stakes were better rare while other medium well, and stopped when it was done. She presented it to him on a plate, and it looked delecious, as most of her meals normally do. His salivary glands pumped, and he swallowed, a smile dawning his face. He reached for the fork and felt a sting on his hand, he recoiled, glancing over at Skyla with a confused expression.

You're hot? I've got it set to 62 degrees! What do you mean I have to wait? He had caught on to her game, he rolled his eyes and reluctantly agreed, allowing her to make the lemonade while he stared at his meal. By the time you're done it's going to be as cold as lunch meat. You might as well get some bread out, we're having sandwiches. He could tell that she was getting hungry, and with that she finally finished and came over with the lemonade. Danny ignored it completely, reaching for his stake and taking a bit off, chomping into it and chewing slowly, allowing his tongue to grip the full flavor of the steak. Reaching for the lemonade he took a sip, he was never partial towards it but he drank it anyway, reveling in it's sour flavor. "Ah, delicious. And luckily it's still warm," He consumed the rest at his normal pace, rather fast, but not in a way where he missed it all.

"I bet some day one of the locals is going to find that box... Heh, I wonder what they'll think." He doubted the military would go out and get it, that was never their style. The rain outside had picked up to a heavy down poor, and the ground outside was flooded with puddles and mud. Danny finished eating the rest of his meal, standing and bringing it over to the dish washer. The lights flickered for a moment, but a low humming emanated from somewhere under the house and it was returned to its normal state. The place ran on underground power lines, but even they would go out when things started to flood. Luckily the government had predicted that and installed massive, what appeared to be nuclear in nature, generators under the house. "I love living here..." He glanced over at Skyla, "The companies not that bad either." After a moment he shrugged towards Keiji, who's ears perked up as he noticed he was being involved. Grinning, he walked back over to the table and sat down. "Maybe we could watch a movie or something... What do you think?"

Skyla finished eating, especially enjoying her lemonade. She cleared the rest of the dishes and put them in the dishwasher, clicking the rinse cycle. And wiping her hands on a towel replied

"Sure, or we could check out whats on TV, we're tuned in to the American channels I think"

She ran a hand through her hair and made her way to the living room, sitting on the middle of the couch. Keiji immediately claimed the spot to her left and Sky patted him absently.

"Hey what was that?" she said suddenly, staring at the window. It was almost impossible to see, the downpour was so heavy, Keiji gave her a weird look and tried to scoot closer to her, but Sky pushed Keiji away and stood up, "I swear I saw something" She headed over to the window and gazed out, it wasn't like her to just see things, usually she saw everything, what with her eyes and extra-sense and all. She stood there for a few moments, looking up at the sky, "I guess it was a just a bird or something..." a bird in this weather? Come on Sky she told herself doubtfully, but she pushed the thought away and sat back on the couch "Yeah...just a bird" she flipped on the TV but didn't really watch it, her thoughts still on what she had seen, it was like a huge black blur, she couldn't really tell because it was raining so hard, and she wasn't paying attention. It had seemed really bright too, almost blinding. It was so weird. She relayed all this to Danny through thought and ended with but whatever it is, it's not there now..it was probably just a bird...

((P.S. What Skyla saw was a helicopter with a search light (the gov. looking for us) Right now the gov. thinks that we're living underground and/or are in the wild. So they think the rain will wash us out and they'll be able to spot us (if we're in Madagascar, they don't know) The mansion just looks like a vacation home, so they aren't looking there. This is the first clue to our ultimate finding out we're illegal))

You're feeling hot, you're seeing things... Perhaps you're getting a fever? He said jokingly, it was rare that they would get anything short of life threatening bubonic plague, and even if that they're technologically enhanced immune systems would most likely fight it off. Or perhaps you're going crazy? Too much time in the middle of no where, huh? What do you think Keiji? The dogs head turned to him, his expression completely impartial. Danny walked over and sat down next to Keiji, patting him and turning to Skyla. "We've got great eyes, but it's pouring outside, and it's a storm. Probably a branch blown by the wind or something... Maybe you're right, could be a bird." He turned his head and peered outside, nothing very interesting. He thought he could hear something coming from outdoors, but over the rain it was hard to say. He settled with the idea that it was just the generator.

He started to watch the TV, sitting there for some time before a black blur in his peripheral vision forced him to turn his head. Hmm... Hey- turn the TV off. He got up and turned out the lights, when the TV blinked off, he closed the door and the room was completely dark. His eyes quickly adjusted to the darkness, and without the noise of the television, he was sure he herd something making chopping sounds off in the distance. Focusing, his eyes shifting their night setting mode, he could see the object in the distance, floating about randomly. A blinding light flicked on, probing the ground. Helicopter. I wonder what they're looking for?

He was laying prone on the floor, with a pair of camouflage binoculars, looking out into the pouring rain as the helicopter continued flying about, with no clear designations, and occasionally leaving their view. After it was gone for over ten minutes, and the sound had faded below the generator, Danny stood and turned the lights back on. "Well, guess they didn't find what they were looking for. Hey- You don't think there was anything important in that box, do you? Would be funny if they actually trusted us to find something big and had to call it off. Ah well, for another time." He resumed his sitting position on the couch, turning the TV on again. Keiji had been laying next to him on the floor, he ran over and jumped back up, taking his usual position between the two cushions. "Well..." The clock read 8:30, there was no way he was going to sleep yet. "What do you want to do?"

Skyla stood over him, crossing her arms smugly "Ha told you I saw something" She gave him a light slap on the arm as he stood up "Don't doubt my abilities!" She stalked back to the couch and patted Keiji happily.

"They were probably just doing some routine test thing, they obviously don't care about us or they would have sent us a message" She said, pushing it out of the way. "Anyway, I don't know what I want to do...but I don't want to just sit here! I'm so bored, all we've been doing for months is just train train train! I want to actually do something! See some actual people besides you and Keiji! And don't act all hurt cause you know you feel the same way" She sighed and stood up, "I mean, why get dressed so nice if no ones going to see it but us? We both look good and we need to show it off!" she grumbled in frustration and paced around the floor. " I don't want to just be cooped up forever! I mean, why'd they make us like this if we weren't gonna do anything!"

She ran out of words to say and settled on just sending Danny all the emotions she was feeling, she let the anger, frustration, confusion and just general cabin fever roll off her onto him. "Come on Keiji, we're going somewhere" Keiji hopped off the couch, as eager as ever, and Skyla was out the door in a flash, just waiting long enough to grab a pink rain jacket hanging in the coat closet. She stalked outside, not bothering to see if Danny followed her or not and walked angrily in any direction, she finally chose which way she wanted to go and headed in a straight line West, toward the ocean, where Africa would be if you could see across it.

"Actually..." He felt her emotions watch over him, and he thought better of saying anything. The emotion waves were always confusing things, he often had trouble separating them from his own, and he was forced to concentrate to keep them in order. I know Skyla, it's just- Hey, wait, where are you going? She stepped out of the door, watching her from the living room he saw her grab a rain jacket and head off with Keiji. He sat down for a moment, looking about the room. "Oh, what am I doing?" He said in frustration, standing and rushing to his room, grabbing his rain coat. Before chasing after her he made sure to collect his favorite gun, one of the fifty caliber, magnum brand desert eagles that had been supplied to them. This one had a blue streak going from the barrel to it's butt, with a bright LED flashlight and a laser sight. The bullets were designed to spin rapidly as they exited the chamber, it fired specialized frag rounds that exploded specifically about a tenth of a second after impact. Normally that gave it enough time to lodge it self in the wound before exploding violently outwards.

Fixing up the jacket he ran out side, his eyes quickly illuminated the surrounding area, but there was no way he could rely on them to find Skyla in the downpour. Pulling out his buggy he found that she had started west, and using there link he set off in her direction. She didn't seem to be in much of a hurry, and he managed to catch up to her at top speed, dodging and performing incredible acrobatics through the various intertwined branches and foliage on the way. He landed behind her and run-stumbled a few steps forward, stopping by her side. He grabbed her arm affirmatively, "Stop, stop, stop." He mumbled, and then continued telepathically. He found that before a conversation it was easiest to show his intentions, then she would know he wasn't angry or anything. Where are you going, Skyla? You can't just walk off in some direction and hope to find a town- although... You know, I don't like being confined to this place all the time either! A bit of rage seethed over, but the analytical part of his mind quickly calmed him. Sorry... My point is, I want to get out too. But really? In the middle of a rain storm? He could tell she didn't care. Quite frankly, he didn't either.

Well, I do worry about you, you know... I try and think of being stuck on the island alone, if you ever died or anything. There's just... Have you ever felt this? He relayed the emotion, the grief of having some one you shared a mental connection with being severed from your life. It was like losing part of himself. It troubles me, the idea. I doubt that anything out here would get the better of us... But err- Anything can happen. If the storm felt like picking up and... I don't know. A train fell from the sky. He chuckled, it wasn't like a flood would kill them. There wasn't a snake in the jungles who's venom couldn't be countered by their immune systems, and there wasn't an animal in the forest they couldn't out run or, if it came to it, shoot the hell out of. Anyway, my point is, don't go running out into a typhoon, hmm? He felt he had gone off track, but ignored it completely. The rain was pounding against his suit. He looked back in the direction of the house, and knew he wouldn't be going back tonight. Alright. We'll go site seeing. I here the see looks amazing when it's storming- want to take a run? The distance wouldn't be much for him or her, it would be exhilarating if anything. When Danny looked back at Skyla he was overcome with some feeling he hadn't felt towards her before. She looked so fierce in the rain, in a pink rain coat, but with horizontal bullets of water coming from the sky and pounding against her figure. She looked strong and beautiful, distinct, and incredibly sturdy. In this rain normal humans would slip and fall, but she and him stood, unaffected, ready to run for miles. What had they become? Ready when you are, Skyla.

((\o/ Yay, going places!))

Skyla listened to his pleading/agreeing/thinking in stony silence, gazing out at the loud wet jungle. She would still be walking if it weren't for Danny's firm grip on her arm. When he did finish though, there was a break of silence, Sky finally looked at Danny and her features softened. She opened her mouth to say something but didn't because one they couldn't be heard over the rain anyway and two she didn't really have any words that could describe what she was trying to say.

She glanced at the house, toward the west, to Keiji (who was busy digging in mud) and back to Danny before stepping forward and hugging him. Their wet rain jackets squeaked a little but you couldn't hear it over the rain. Thank you she said simply. That pretty much summed it up. She was so glad that he hadn't tried to stop her, and understood where she was coming from, even wanted to go with her.

Sky broke the hug, her previous frustration gone with the wind and a feeling of excitement and elation was upon her now. She suddenly realized what she was doing, leaving a beautiful house with everything they could need, in the middle of a huge rainstorm, wearing 2 1/2 inch high leather boots. And she was happy to do it. I just need to get some things real quick she said to Danny, and practically danced off in the direction of the house. She made it back in record time and went in, grabbing her buggy, her gun, and a toy for Keiji (a small black and blue knotted rubber toy).

She went back out and met Danny, a big grin on her face, one-two-three go! she said without any warning and took off, her pink rainjacket flapping in the wind, her boots, which would be sinking in the mud, didn't bother her cause at the speed she was going, her heels hardly touched the ground. She ran to the edge of the forest before catching her breath...the sea was amazing.

Unexpected but welcomed summed up her hug, he was unprepared and too surprised to hug her back, and wasn't sure if it was the right moment, but suddenly the cold of the rain seemed to fade, and he could feel the steady expanding and contracting of her chest. She simply said thank you, but he could feel her emotions in her thought, and smiled contently. Skyla appeared electric, radiating with excitement as she rushed back to the house, running faster then he had ever seen her run before. Danny pulled out his buggy, and found that hers was rapidly moving back to his. He remembered she had left it in the house, and figured she'd must have gone back to get it.

Skyla returned with not only her buggy but with her fine silver gun, as well as a toy she had retrieved for Keiji. When he herd her telepathic go he broke into a sprint, dashing besides her and dodging the thick foliage as he went. Ahead of him he could see her pink against the black of night, an obvious indicator of her presence. He picked up pace and managed to catch up to her, running side by side westward in the assumed direction of the sea. He remembered looking at it on his buggy at one point, and was sure they were headed in the right direction. Above him the sound of thunder broke through the perpetual cacophony of the wind and rain, he felt absorbed in the storm, instinctive and reactive, immersed entirely in his fluent movements.

At the end of the forest they stopped to breath, the sea before them raged, enormous waves colliding with the shore and sweeping back handfuls of sand. The tide had ascended close to a dirt road which lead to a shanty looking town not too far from the North, in its aged wooden dock boats could be seen shaking back and forth, large fishing nets were thrown out into the water, reaching for sea life in the raging tides. There appeared to be a commotion playing out on the pier, as native looking people darted about, securing possessions. The lamps were being lit all about, Danny could even see one unfortunate man slip in the water, but was luckily caught before being dragged out into the tide. A strike of lightning illuminated the sky, splitting over the sea and striking some where far away.

The sea was amazing, powerful, and unforgiving. It wasn't beautiful tropical beaches normally portrayed in this area, instead it was wild and, like few things did nowadays, it belittled him. Danny swallowed, imagining jumping into the dark surface and disappearing forever. Hes attention was caught by the hum of a helicopter, who's singular search light flicked on and began to probe the ground, making its way for the village. It hovered over it, blinding the scrambling peasants on the pier, apparently searching for something unknown. Sykla, that helicopter's a long way from home. He was referring to the model of the helicopter, which indicated it as from the US. It stayed it self in the air, floating thirty or so feet from the ground before its doors opened, and a five black suited figures, no more then silhouettes to Danny's eyes, descended from the chopper, invisible to the townsfolk.

For about thirty seconds Danny watched in silence at the strange spectacle. Had they found what they wanted? Were they their to reclaim it? Suddenly gun shots could be herd from the town, distant screams could be herd, Danny started in the towns direction, bidding Skyla to follow. He came within range and ducked in the woods. The town was about three hundred feet away, from there he could see the helicopter was painted to look like one of the lesser models the militia used, but he could tell it was a fake. From where he was standing he could see into the various open streets of the town, figures moved about quickly, occasionally he would hear a wooden door brake, but many of the houses lacked them, and instead he simply herd gun shots. On the pier a group of frightened townsfolk appeared to be getting up in arms, carrying various make shift weapons, hatchets, harpoons, any blunt objects they could get their hands on. They were quickly mowed down, and the remainder ran off into the night. He could hear shouting in English, and then saw the original five being lifted up back into the chopper on a long descending ladder. Danny watched in stun silence as the Helicopter drifted away. It stopped once more in the air, aiming it self towards the town, and a mighty roar could be herd from it's direction.

Two projectiles came forward, reaching the town in but a seconds time. An enormous explosion ensued, a giant pillar of fire came from the point of impact, an outwardly burst lashed outwardly, and flying peices of wooden shack and everything else in the way came flying from the village. Danny ducked, instinctively grabbed for Skyla, but finding she had already followed. Shrapnel flew over their heads, and a rain of mud mixed with the already ferocious down pour. "Holy shit!" His ears rang from the explosion, he began wiping dirt from his rain coat, but couldn't bring him self to sit up. The helicopter flew off back into the night, Danny watched it go from his position in the mud. Skyla? Are you alright? What just happened? A pit grew in his stomach, something made him feel he was involved.

Skyla dived behind Danny--an instinctive move, not really trying to make him take the blow. After the worst of it went, Sky immediately stood up, trying to see in the flying mud and rain. She watched the helicopter fly off and glanced back at the village, what was that all about? she asked in shock. Come on lets check it out. She twirled her gun around her finger, grumbled about how she was wearing patent leather and her shoes were ruined forever, and took off into the night.

She reached the outskirts of the village, tripping over rubble and debris. Her foot got caught between a big crack and she hit the ground...right next to a charred, barely recognizable body. Skyla gasped/shrieked and threw herself backwards. Whatever attacked here wasn't afraid of hurting people. She threw a wordless glance to Danny, her eyes wide and slightly frightened.

((hmm, should I raise the rating on this? Oh and do whatever you want--idk where you're going with this, just don't have us get caught just yet :) ))
