"For God's sake. Won't it ever stop?" she mumbled impatiently.
Raine hated irony of her namesake ruining her plans. A heavy, unexpected wave of rain crept up on the Rebellion forces, delaying their plans by at least a day and a half. Since Raine was leader of the soldiers, she felt it was her wrong that the elements seemed to betray them. Sighing angrily, she broke her glare from the window and proceeded to dress herself. It was quick since she normally slept in her underclothing. She slipped on what little armor she had available and strapped her pistol, sword, and dagger to her waist, back, and leg respectively.
Kaede, who took it upon himself to stay at Raine's home since her brother lived in the Millitary barracks, had already dressed and met up with some of the other leaders. He was a bit more optimistic, but he understood the weather's effect on the Rebellion. He also knew Raine's temper was boiling hot, so he didn't say anything to try and lighten her mood. She was hard to sway emotions.
"They're holding a stragey meeting today also," he said, trying to change the subject. She turned to face him, but quickly turned around and sighed again. "It's not that bad. Besides, we have a victory close at hands!" The mechanic just couldn't keep his optimism from exploding, so a wide grin spread from ear to ear. However, Raine didn't look persuaded.
"It is bad. It's always the same stuff. Don't you ever get bored?" she ranted. "We won't know we have the victory until it's over. Besides, a few weapons won't win us this war." She and a few other leaders had planned to raid a weapon hold in Stonewell, a city only a few leagues away. "Have you got any bullets made?" She had felt the weight of her pistol was lighter than it had been, and apparently it was empty.
He nodded, and they started to leave as he pulled them out of a bag strapped to his back. They radiated in an alien blue light, yet still had the characteristics of a silver bullet. She thanked him silently with an approving nod, and they headed to the village hall. The Rebellion had secretly claimed Raine's small village as their headquarters, not to Storme's knowing. The village hall was the one building sturdy enough to withstand the elements and the arguments which take place within. Raine had named it "The Hall of Eternal Stupidity." She hated having meetings just like the millitary would, and she despised recieving offers of help from other leaders. She was made captain of the soldiers for a reason.
"I hope this ends quickly, or so help me..."
