It has been three centuries since the Republic was ravaged by the the relentless assaults of the Sith Empire. In that war, thousands of Jedi and Sith perished, billions of soldiers marched to their deaths, and trillions of civilians fell in the crossfire. Three hundred years of relative peace and prosperity for the Republic, knowing full well that they had driven the forces of the Sith into the Unknown Regions and even beyond, into Dark Space. The Republic could breathe and rebuild and at least try and retake what had been lost.
Coruscant and the Senate sent out relief to as many planets as they could to help the planets that had been ravaged and scortched by the Sith Empire during the Great Galactic War. The Jedi were the protectors of the Republic, just and true, and they could spread their justice unhindered to a galaxy without fear of the Sith, for at last, the menace was extinct.
They were decieved...
A planet on the edge of Republic control went dark. The last signal out of the planet was a distress call, a cry, a plea for help before it was scrambled by static. This would normally warrant no great worry to the Jedi Council; pirates, bandits, and slavers were always commonplace on the Outer Rim. What made this a worry to the Jedi Council, however, was the massive ripple Jedi Master Belth Allusis felt when he was meditating on the issue. The disturbance he felt in the Force was a wave of foul darkness, untamed hatred, and bitter suffering. Something wicked was coming, but what? That disturbance was unlike anything the Master had ever felt before.
So, Jedi Master Calgar called the Jedi Council together to speak on the issue. None of the others had felt the disturbance in the Force as Master Calgar had, so they discarded the issue, saying that if there had indeed been a true distubance, they all would have felt it, even a Padawan would have been able to feel the disturbance of the magnitude Calgar described. Master Calgar tried to appeal to the Senate, trying to get the Republic to send a relief force to the planet that went silent. The Senat began a debate on sending relief. Their resources were already strained with the reconstruction efforts that were still underway on the larger city-planets akin to Coruscant itself. Belth was forced to wait.
In the time the Senate took to debate and argue over the idea of sending out another ship to the outer rim to assist another colony, at least three other seemed to vanish from the galactic map, each dissapearance followed by that wave of bone-chilling darkness. Calgar was worried, was his old mind seeing an enemy that was no longer there? He thought he was going mad, until one of the newly annointed Jedi Guardians approached Master Calgar in private and confessed that he too was feeling the disturbances.
Master Calgar took a great gamble and confided in the young Jedi, and they both had identical images in their disturbing meditations. So, Master Calgar called together a collective of Jedi that he knew he could trust. Masters, Knights, Consulars, Guardians, Apprentices, and Padawans alike. The Senate was obviously not taking any action and the Jedi Council were too blind to see the invisible fetter tighten. This small group of Jedi were all that Masters Calgar trusted enough with what he and the young Guardian felt in the rippling waves of the Force. The Masters and their apprentices were given a task of paramount importance: They were to go to the first planet that went dark and try and find any evidence of Dark Side corruption. What will happen? Who will they meet? What mysteries will unfold before them and behind them? What will they find... or more importantly, what will find them?

Jedi Consular – a Jedi Master who was especially skilled in applications of the Force, the Consular would concentrate primarily on the diplomacy and the powers and philosophies of the Force. The Jedi Consular was similar to the Force Warrior with the exception that the Jedi Consular would still use a lightsaber.
Jedi Sentinel – The balance point between Guardians and Consulars, Sentinels would focus on balancing between applications of the Force and combat skills.
Jedi Weapon Master – a Jedi Master who focused solely on battle, the Weapon Master was among the greatest physical fighters of the Order.***
Jedi Watchman – The equivalent of the Jedi Sentinel, the Jedi Watchman investigated the mysteries of the galaxy and sought out injustice and harm and brought it into the light. A Jedi Watchman was assigned to watch over a particular system in the galaxy, and served it in all means.***
Jedi Sniper – Jedi Snipers defended the temple specializing in long range telekinetic lightsaber attacks, using saber throw to strike from long distances at anyone who presented a threat to the headquarters of the Order. Unlike most Jedi, Jedi snipers wielded their lightsabers with a reversed grip. All known Jedi snipers were slaughtered by Darth Vader and his troops during Operation: Knightfall. Many Jedi Snipers preferred a short lightsaber.
Jedi Brute – Jedi Brutes defended the temple wielding double bladed lightsabers alongside Jedi snipers and Jedi gatemasters. At a young age, physically intimidating Padawans with a penchant for lightsaber combat were selected from the pool for special training. They were then trained in aggressive combat tactics and the use of a double-bladed lightsaber, and were trained to master Ataru, Shien, and Soresu. They were known to have worked closely with the Temple Security Force. Many Jedi brutes were present at Operation: Knightfall in 19 BBY, and most were slain by the new Sith apprentice Darth Vader.

In addition to knowledge of such Force powers, also had extensive knowledge of medicine and medical technology. Jedi healers were normally stationed at the Jedi Medical Corps Infirmary, but would also serve in the field. For instance, around the time of the Clone Wars, Jedi healers would serve aboard MedStar frigates and, occasionally, in Republic's mobile surgical units ("Rimsoos").
Jedi Shadow – a Jedi whose job was to seek out and destroy any sign of the dark side of the Force, the Jedi shadow was the Jedi Order's primary weapon against the dark side up until the Clone Wars. The Jedi Shadow was a Jedi tasked with infiltrating dark side groups and cults to expose them to justice.***
Form I: Shii-Cho - "Way of the Sarlacc" or "Determination Form"
Form I is the most basic of the seven forms and is learned by every Jedi Youngling. Shii-Cho includes the fundamental elements of all the lightsaber forms including the basic attack, parry, body target zones, and practice drills called velocities.
Form II: Makashi - "Way of the Ysalamir" or "Contention Form"
Form II represents the ultimate refinement of lightsaber-to-lightsaber combat. Masters of Makashi develop unique offenses and defenses and train studiously against having their sabers taken or damaged.
Form III: Soresu - "Way of the Mynock" or "Resilience Form"
Form III was first developed in response to the advancement of blaster technology in the galaxy. Soresu's emphasis on tight, efficient movements that expose very minimal target areas, make it the most defensive and passive of the seven forms.
Form IV: Ataru - "Way of the Hawk-Bat" or "Aggression Form"
Form IV is the most acrobatic of all the forms and requires a Jedi to first master the Force Run, Jump, and Spin abilities. By incorporating all the Force powers that allow a Jedi to exceed standard norms of physical abilities, Jedi may resemble nothing less than a blur when using this style.
Form V: Shien / Djem So - "Way of the Krayt Dragon" or "Perseverance Form"
Form V was also created in response to the advancement and frequency of blaster use in the galaxy. Unlike the strictly defensive style Soresu, Shien exploits the ability of a lightsaber to block blaster bolts and deflect them back at an opponent in a counter-attack maneuver. In a duel, the Djem So variation of this form, which focused on strength, would be used.
Form VI: Niman - "Way of the Rancor" or "Moderation Form"
Form VI seeks to balance the emphases of forms I through V. Niman allows a Jedi to fight with harmony and justice without having to resort to powerful, aggressive movements or overt emotion.
Form VII: Juyo / Vaapad - "Way of the Vornskr" or "Ferocity Form"
Juyo instead employs bold, direct movements, more open and kinetic than form V, but not so elaborate as the acrobatic form Ataru. Juyo requires greater energy and intensity out of the practitioner because his focus is wielded more broadly and draw upon from a deeper well of emotion; while the outward bearing of a Form VII practitioner is one of calm, the inner pressure verges on explosive. It was also considered to be the most dangerous in regard to falling to the Dark Side, because it required a certain amount of enjoyment in the fight from the person experiencing it.

-Personal-
Personality: A passionate individual, or as passionate as a Jedi can be. Selfless in his actions and trusting in his fellow Jedi. Despire his rugged and brutish outward appearance, he is usually quite civil, retaining a calm, positive air about him as often as he can, and can even be taken as shy. When in combat, his face becomes as stone and his eyes like hammers as he focuses on the fight, his usually light demeanor takes a darker shade as he becomes a determined and powerful combatant who has only been bested in a duel by his Master and Zrina, the Jedi Weapon Master.
Bio: Trent Dellum found Alester far from his natural habitat on Fenris. The Master Consular originaly found the boy in the dark and dank underbelly of Nar Shadaa, locked in a cage with shackles tight around his wrists and ankles, as well as a collar around the boy's neck.
Trent saw that special spark in the boy, though that spark was more like a raging wildfire, roaring within the young Fenri. Trent went through much to try and free the boy from slavery, but the dealers would not strike a bargain with a Jedi. Trent came back one last time to see the slavers dead, their bodies broken and mangled, the cage looking like a bomb had been planted inside it. Alester stood there, though, his chains broken.
Trent took the boy to Coruscant and presented him before the council. He was indeed strong in the Force and his body was even stronger, but both looked weak next to Alester's will. The council was reluctant to accept the boy, thought, for they saw the deep-seeded fear and anger that burned in Alester's blood. Master Dellum argued that it was because of the environment the boy grew up in; having read the child's past, seeing that the savage world of Fenris and the brutal inhabitants had taken the boy's family, the slavers taking him from the ruins and throwing him in chains. Trent said that he could change the boy and bring balance to him.
Trent succeeded, to an extant. Fenri are naturally emotion-centered beings, so Master Dellum taught Alester how to bury his emotions beneath a stone-hard barrier of self control.
Alester's prowess and keeness in lightsabers was duly noted. Though he was very skilled in the Force, his strength was in the martial prowess of using a saber. Master Dellum helped Alester focus with his lightsaber forms, training the young man as a Guardian.
When Alester was knighted at the age of 19, he was immediately taken in to the ranks of the Jedi Guardians. Though Trent is no longer Alester's master, Alester treats Trent with the greatest respect, seeing the man as a father.
Alester is the young Guardian that felt the foul disturbance and he was the one that went to Grand Master Calgar to confide with him, only after speaking to Trent first, of course.
Other Info: Alester teaches some Youngling saber classes, but he is not a Master yet.
