The factory world of Corbin, 80 billion lives preserved by habitation domes and massive life support systems. A warehouse stands in a complex of factories in section 176-C-19, the odd part? This warehouse has armed guards.

Krath found himself in a ventilation shaft, slowly undoing the screws from the inside. "I thought you said this was going to be easy." He said into his microphone as the second to last screw popped off the outside, making a slight pinging sound on the floor. He started on the last one, which was in the middle on the top. Just before popping it off he waited for the guard to pass under him one last time, and then the screw fell off and Krath jumped out of the vent, landing on the floor with a small thump. Krath set the vent down against the wall and then crept up behind the guard and grabbed him by the mouth and face before snapping his neck with a loud crack a moment later.

Krath jumped out of the way of the nearest video camera, and then activated his microphone again. "Are you sure the video cameras are down?" He asked before creeping out past the backside of the camera, he could nearly see the intersection of hallways they were to meet at. He could see several more guards and ducked behind a recessed doorway labeled 'SU-175-4-1b'.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the warehouse, a multitude of workers were busy doing their daily job, oblivious to the intruders. About twenty worked the assembly lines, preparing special items necessary for the survival of the factory, fifteen operated the machinery to get the lines running, and nearly thirty-five were mingling around. The sad fact behind it, however, was that if they had actually paid close attention, they would have noticed that one of the workers was missing, but had been replaced by a 'new' employee.
"First off, you were the one who wanted to go all commando about the mission. Second, I said it would be easy for ME. You'll just have to improvise, since you have a strange habit of pulling off the unexpected."
As Menos, posing as the new 'employee' in worker gear, began walking down the hallways from the work area, he quickly recollected over their job. Their leaders wanted the two of them to retrieve some item that was locked away deep in the factory. Guards were expendable, so taking any out wouldn't cause a problem. Because of the way this place worked, though, Menos decided to avoid any lethal interaction with the guards. Of course, he couldn't say the same for his partner. Most likely, he's killed about ten to fifteen now... Since they went in different ways, Menos had chosen to take the disguised route and first entered the work area. By knocking out a worker and locking him in a closet with just his underwear on, he had already gotten off to a good start.
His train of thought was broken when his partner called again. Sighing, he turned on his comlink and spoke, "For the last time, I made sure they were down. Besides, even if they're still on, you're the only one they'll find. That is, unless you stay in those shafts you love so much."
With a simple smirk, he opened the nearest door and found himself staring into the designated hallway. Looking to the sides, he saw a group of guards nearby, mingling about unaware.
Sighing to himself, he stepped back into the previous corridor and asked, "Shall we activate the first contingency plan?"

Krath looked back out from his hiding spot for a second, then ducked back, pulling a smoke charge from one of his pockets. "Something like that.." he said into the microphone. He slid the cover off the main exhaust hole of the charge, then pushed the small ignition switch and hurled it down the hallway. Moments before it hit one of the walls the other two ports opened and thick black smoke issued from the small orb, this smoke was harmless to the lungs of most creatures.

As the second part of the plan Krath hurtled down the hallway and deployed his blades before jumping on the back of the first guard, stabbing him in the neck. He could just barely see in the smoke, but it was enough to distinguish friend from foe in time to stop. The next two guards were easy, they were standing back to back and Krath thrust his blades through their necks at the same time, but there were still three more guards left if he remembered correctly.

Within seconds of his companion's reply, Menos heard the sound of Krath's smoke bomb. Watching as the smoke started to enter the corridor with him, he leaned off the wall and entered into the hallway. Almost immediately, he nearly walked into a guard, who was backing up after hearing something horrible nearby. Immediately, Menos' fist went up and smashed against the back of the guard's head, knocking him out cold. Holding the guard up, he posed him like normal as two more guards came into view. While they were distracted by being relieved to see another guard, Menos moved him forward just enough before he threw him at them. The guards, catching their friend in time, blinked in surprise at the sudden movement; Surprised enough that they never saw Menos' leg come around and crack against their necks.
With the three guards out of the picture, Menos walked a bit forward until he saw the forms of three more guards sprawled out on the ground. Seeing his partner nearby, he sighed and then said, "Alright, Krath. Clean up your little mess here, and we'll move on."

"Right. And for the record.." Krath started to say as he pushed his three guards against a wall, using their clothes to mop up the little bit of blood on the floor. "... I hate ventilation shafts." Krath smirked a bit as he picked up the spent smoke charge and put it in a pocket inside his jacket instead of where the others were. He began to walk down the next corridor, the storage unit they wanted should be at the end, there were alcoves with doors to other units in them about every ten feet along both walls.

Suddenly guards burst from four of the doors along the hall, there were four, and they had their weapons drawn. Krath jumped into the nearest alcove on his side, a blaster shot singing the fir on his tail as it passed. He pulled his blaster-pistol out of its holster on his left hip. He took stock of his situation, then shifted the gun to his left hand because he was on the right side of the hallway. Krath leaned out of the alcove and shot three times, one hitting a guard in the leg. Five more shots immediately bounced off the alcove's door-frame, then dissipated against the floor. "Menos i hope you still have that sniper." He prepared to lean out again, holding his blaster with both hands.

Menos couldn't help but smirk at Krath's comment. When his partner finished cleaning what little mess had been done, Menos followed Krath into the corridor that led to their target. As soon as the guards burst into the room, he quickly side-spun into a separate alcove.

Taking a peek around the corner, Menos noticed that the guards had seen Krath and were focused on him. Smirking at this, he proceeded to sit down on his ass and pulled out his Datapad. Clicking a few buttons on it, a screen popped up, displaying the room from the nearby camera's view. Seeing that one guard had fallen, he calmly unstrapped a metallic box from his back. Sitting it down and clicking a button, he waited patiently as it folded out into a sniper rifle.

Picking the gun up, he carefully adjusted its weight on his side. Sticking the barrel of the gun out into the open, he aimed the shot based upon what the camera could show him. With a smirk, he pulled the trigger. The shot was silenced, perfect for assassinations, and traveled past the guards. Immediately hitting the back door, it ricocheted back, hitting a guard in his right shoulder. When the guard dropped forward in pain, the other three turned their attention to the door, shocked that there was someone behind them.

"All yours, Commando," Menos whispered jokingly.

Krath jumped at the opportunity to rush the guards, the two that were uninjured were just turning back up the hallway. Krath grabbed one by the head and slammed him into the other and then into a wall, two shots quickly followed through their necks which were stacked on top of each other. Before he could think Krath found himself hurling his gun at the last guard with a weapon, it hit him square in the head and he slumped forward, bleeding from his temple. Krath slowed down, picked up his blaster, and then rolled the guard with the shoulder wound over; the man's eyes were wide and a look of shock was on his face. "Sorry, mate... but at least we didn't kill you with a shot to the back."

Krath casually turned and fired his weapon just as it passed over the man's head. He turned to Menos, "You know i don't like it when people get shot in the back, but i have to say that one was nice."

Closing up his sniper rifle and deactivating the Datapad, Menos attached the items back to their spots and appeared around the corner. Hearing his comrade's comment, he looked to the side with seemingly non-interest, though a hint of embarrassment was slightly viewable on his face.

"To be honest, I wasn't expecting the door to be made out of metoralite. The shot was only suppose to hit the door and alert them." Stretching at this point, he added, "Well, at least I didn't kill the guard. That's all that mattered to me."

Moving the bodies over into a corner out of sight, he then stood beside the target door, waiting for Krath to clean up his second 'mess'.

Krath used the 'body mop' routine to clean up the mess in the hallway, then continued yo inspect the lock on the door. It was computerized, no surprise, and seemed to require a card and numeric key. Hi took a device out of his left pocket and inserted part of it on a cord into the card swipe, then a jack was inserted into the service port and the display on the device began to flash different colors and display symbols that were understood only by Krath.

"Menos, this is going to take a minute..." The screen stopped and Krath flicked a finger across the screen which caused a menu to come up, then he selected a password cracker for a relatively simple passkey, then turned around as footsteps were heard around the corner. "Oh you've got to be kidding me... well, at least they have no skill."

Krath darted back across the hall and hid behind the small entryway to another room which also hid another body, if all went well the guards would pass right by unless they had heard something about a break-in.

(again, sorry about the forgetfulness o_o)

"Well, don't make that minute into an hour," Menos simply replied to his companion's statement.

Hearing the footsteps, he grimaced for a bit before checking over himself. With all of his gadgetry hidden away, he looked like a simple worker for the warehouse. Recollecting over the information he gained about this place, he nodded to himself and stationed himself in the hall. Quickly pulling the panel off of a card reader, he began tinkering with it as a door opened up. Two guards entered into the hallway, chatting about some random things and oblivious to their surroundings. It was only when they were right against him that they noticed Menos.

"Hey, worker," one of the guards said, "What are you doing down here?"

Looking to them with a perfect impression of surprise, Menos replied in a more rookie voice, "Oh! I, um, was simply repairing this broken board, sir. Almost done with it, in fact."

The second guard, after looking over to the first one, spoke up. "That's strange... Didn't Carl say that the door was fine a few hours back."

Jumping in, Menos replied, "Well, sir, you know how these electronic gadgets are. Sometimes they work fine, sometimes they simply die off."

The first guard sighed and then said, "Ah well... Keep at it, worker."

"Yes sir!"

As the guards passed on, Menos waited until they either disappeared or suddenly became nonexistent, before replacing the panel and looking back to where Krath had entered.

Krath stepped back out from his hiding place and calmly walked over to the door. "Saved by the costume..." He shook his head, pulling the device off the lock. "Well, nothing left to it now." He said, pushing the door sideways into the wall, revealing a large room with a pedestal in the middle, seemingly empty.

Krath stepped in, watching out for usual signs of a trap. "These masterminds know how to waste money, don't they?" He reached the pedestal then picked up a small computer chip, holding it up to the light. "This big room for a tiny chip... makes you wonder what the hell they're thinking sometimes..." He handed the chip off to Menos, still looking around for some type of trap, but there apparently wasn't any.

After his little disguise spill with the guards, Menos felt it necessary to let Krath take care of the rest. Although minor changes had occurred in the plan, this mission was still flying practically straight into success. When he saw Krath enter the room, he was slightly impressed in how alert his partner was being to traps and devices. From what he had heard about Krath's past missions, the hybrid feline seemed to have a knack for getting himself caught in something. Seems that he learned his lesson...

Entering after him, Menos pulled out his DataPad and began examining the room for electronical devices inside the walls. When nothing came up, he himself was concerned about the simplicity to this room. Receiving the chip from Krath, however, brought him back to reality, and he quickly uploaded it to the DataPad. Immediately, he scanned the chip tracer number which came out as an exact copy to the number they were to retrieve.

Not bothering to look at the data inside the chip, he then said, "Alright, this is definitely it, Krath. It's time for extraction."

"Ahh, the fun part. Shock and awe, or low key?" As they made their way out of the room the sound of boots in the hallways beyond could be heard. "Shock awe it is... they were probably watching the door sensors." For a second Krath pushed up his left sleeve and pushed a few symbols on a display, then covered his arm again, careful not to catch anything on the hidden blade beneath.

"Hopefully this won't get too messy, just try to run past them." Krath took off down the hallway they had come through, finding it mostly clear except for small pockets of guards which were quickly distracted by throwing knives to the face and a run off one wall and onto another.

The second that they were both free of the building, having run strait out of the main entrance, Krath and Menos came face to face with a large shiny black elliptical ship which was unmistakably theirs. The ship fired on the entrance, jamming it shut with rubble to prevent the guards from getting through, then lowered a ramp about three feet off the ground and, once they were on-board, began to retract the ramp while starting to fly away and exit the large atmospheric dome.

Krath stood where he had ended on the ramp for a few minutes, slightly out of breath. "One hell of a rush, eh?"

(This works fine by me.)

The short-lived, yet exhilarating, escape had Menos quite out of breath. Now that they were safe on the ship, though, he quickly took the uniform's headpiece off and sat it on a shelf nearby.

Unzipping the suit jacket and placing it in the same place, he then said, "One good enough that I need a shower afterward."

Granted, Menos' jokes were more like snappy comebacks, but that's just how he was. Giving Krath the chip so that he could send it, Menos then left the ramp area. Heading into his room in the ship to grab some clothing, he made his way to the bathroom and began to take a cold shower.

"You go do that, i'll take us to contact range." Krath made his way to the cockpit, grabbing a mug of a type of juice from the konda plant found on Ichar on the way. After the ship left the 'atmosphere', which was designed to let ships pass through, anybody watching it would see a ripple against the blackness of space, and then nothing, visual cloaking was a powerful thing.

As the ship reached the edge of Corbin's gravity well the cloak dropped and a neon blue section on the rear of the ship lit up, propelling it forward even faster, and yet there was no ill effect on the inside of the ship due to the artificial gravity. Krath leaned back in his chair and put his feet up on an empty section of the semicircular control console, then pulled out a knife and started cleaning out the area under his nails, which were sharp enough already.

Menos spent a good deal of time in the shower, washing off what he considered 'the grime of the job'. After he was done, he returned to his room and changed into a new set of clothing before entering the cockpit. With a sigh as he sat down in the other seat, he stared out into the vastness of space.
"That mission was... too easy..." he stated before closing his eyes. "Whatever information that was on that chip had better be worth the waste of time."

GraftRaven

Krath put his knife away and took out the chip. "I can almost gaurantee that it is, but its not our job to decrypt it. Anyway, we're at contact distance." He inserted the chip into a port on the control panel, pulled the ship's throttle back to zero, and initiated the data transfer with the nearest Assassinorum base, which was two star systems over.

A minute or two later a message was sent back, when shown on the ship's main viewport, which doubled as a computer screen, the Assassinorum logo was shown with the words 'Nothing is true, everything is permitted.' below it. After a moment this screen vanished and was replaced with another which contained a text message:

Brothers Menos and Krath,

All is as we have feared, several powerful members of the aristocracy in your star system are planning a takeover to turn the entire system into one force. While a noble goal the means they would use to accomplish it are not as noble. Your orders are to find and neutralize them, the location of two known members of the organization are included.

May your work provide success and freedom for all, brothers.

Ganshe, Khufra - Droth, Khuranni district
Weharu, Tunshu - Ichar, Genshu city

Krath left the message up on the screen. "Told you so, but it looks like we have a choice: home, or the desert."

Tytun

The response came much quicker than Menos had anticipated. This just meant the decoders were doing their job correctly today... Reading the message quietly to himself, he turned on his Datapad and began collecting information on the two included targets.

Checking them over for a moment, he then turned to Krath and said, "I'm sure our home will be fine on its own for a bit. For now, let's set a course for the desert."

GraftRaven

Krath looked Menos in the eyes. "Then we'd better be ready to survive the desert. I'll be in my room, preparing my junk." He looked back at the ship's controls, then at Menos. "You can still handle the ship, yes?" He said, getting out of his chair and opening the door to his room before walking inside and shutting it just as quickly. Once inside he began laying out bits of equipment and moisture retaining clothing as well as extra slices of cloth that had been damaged during other operations, purposely choosing light colors to reflect heat.

In the end it was all rather ramshackle, but it served its purpose and had a good look about it as well. Dusty brown cloth formed the bulk of the visible portion of the outfit, but under this was an air filtration apparatus that would be strapped to the chest and connected to a helmet that covered the entire head and had a voice scrambler in the mouth piece. Over the helmet a long strip of the same fabric was wrapped several times around it to prevent the desert sands from messing anything up. Among other things there was a bandolier that ran across the chest which held both canisters of water, which could be used by placing the valve on the canister to another valve on the mask, and several flash and smoke grenades. Though it would have been rather impractical to take such an appearance on other worlds mercenaries and bounty hunters were commonplace on Droth, and even better the locals knew not to report them to the authorities because they knew that if they did they would pay for it in blood.

At least three quarters of an hour passed in this fashion before Krath exited his room again. They ought to be about half way to Droth because warping would have taken them through an asteroid belt. Krath walked up behind Memos in the cockpit. "I'll take over now if you've got stuff to get ready." He said, a bit apologetic for taking so long.

The one on the right, not Boba, and not with those weird boots, more like pants, but still covered by a partial robe. And also no lightsabers xD

Although he was about to answer, Menos found himself alone in the cockpit as Krath went out. Sighing to himself, he took control of the ship and continued their course toward the desert planet. As time passed on, he began to wonder to himself if Krath had somehow managed to kill himself in the process of preparation. When his partner showed up in the cockpit with an apologetic tone, however, Menos stood up and stretched.

"There's always something that needs preparation," he said as he left the cockpit to head to his own room.

Once inside, he sat down on his bed for a moment to use his DataPad. Accessing well-known information about the desert planet, Menos began to cultivate ideas for a choice of clothing. Being an unfortunate master of disguise, he could easily make something with the material he had present. The process took about half an hour to complete, but once he had the clothing done, Menos almost smirked to himself. The clothing he had chosen came in three layers. The outermost layer composed of the same material one would see on an ordinary day in the desert. Thus, no one would ever really suspect him as an assassin. At least, not the smart or paranoid ones. The inner layer was the big section, carrying a normal dark attire of clothing. Here, Menos would keep all of his weapons and gadgets concealed, so that again he could keep the appearance of a civilian. Between these two layers was a well-made air filtration system that surrounded the inner layer in a comfortable tight level. With this, he'd be able to survive the desert easily and had a continuous stream of cool air running over his body. With that said, he was particularly glad that the desert planet wasn't a frozen planet. Otherwise, this disguise would have quite the opposite effect of what he wanted. Not only did the middle layer have air filtration, but it also was laced with a cybernetic EMP system. This system was small, and only had the function of 'creating a cloak around his inner layer which would keep his weapons and gadgets undetected'. Crude, but effective.

Pleased with his work, Menos returned to the cockpit and looked ahead to the dark space. "How close are we to the planet?" he asked.

GraftRaven
06-19-2010, 02:44 AM
"Close enough to start the descent." He said, flicking his hand over the control panel after which the ship lurched forward and towards the planet's sandy surface. "A friend of mine owns a public hangar and knows enough to keep quiet about customers. So, now comes the planning stage, I think we should get to know who this person is before we go after him... possibly pick up a few odd jobs to gain his trust, then come up with takedown and escape plans."

The ship was now hurtling through Droth's upper atmosphere, trailing flames as was usual for an entry. Soon they would be able to see a few of the largest cities and then a large compound with a landing ring in the center surrounded by lights. And shortly after that the radio tower would contact them and track them down to the surface.

(Okay, I figure Droth will be modeled on Mos Eisley, and we need some sort of name for the ship... or at least a transponder number.)

Tytun

"Hmm..." Menos thought for a moment. "It seems like a plausible strategy, through intel on our target says that he is easily thrown into paranoia if something strange occurs around here. We'll have to be careful... meaning that you'll need to hold back your trigger finger for a while." Granted, this meant that he himself needed to proceed with caution as well. He was sure that this target would find them out sooner or later, but what mattered the most to him was if they had the perfect contingency plan prepared for that time. "Regardless, I would advise us to find out as much as we can about this guy, particularly points of interest he likes to visit and the whole nine yards."

Upon entering the planet's atmosphere, Menos waited a moment before adding, "We'll need to be careful around your friend... While I'm okay with him knowing of our whereabouts, I'd prefer it if we can keep the target's suspicion away from him."

(How about both? Not sure about a name for the ship, but the transponder number could be 75432-98124)
