In the year 2122, the people of planet Earth made a startling discovery; one that propelled humanity into the stars. The key to efficient and rapid space-travel was discovered and modified by a brilliant team of American scientists as a part of NASA during the 2100's. The 'theory' was officially tested on 26 April 2122, upon which a constructed prototype starship dubbed 'Dionysus250' was launched. Beyond outward belief, and despite the rampant international cynicism, the world watched in awe as Dionysus250 blasted phenomenally out of the solar-system and into unexplored space. There was no on-board crew; the risk of failure or losing control of the ship so many distant light-years away was huge.

However, this discovery was no random stroke of good scientific fortune - unbeknownst to the human race, it was a timely predestined decision of intervention by the Intergalactic Council; the Universal Government that constituted of an elected member of each 'intelligent' universal race.
For decades, a recurring question had plagued each Council body, and as of yet, had not been answered; Should humanity be made aware of the thriving life outside their solar system? It was answered in the Earth Year 2098 - the Council Ik'Tahr member at the time, Coraleen Septur, was particularly interested in the future of humanity. In fact, the whole Ik'Tahr race was fascinated by Earth and it's uncanny similarities to their own planet Iptor. The atmosphere was virtually the same, and yet the species produced by each planet significantly differed in some ways; the Ik'tahr were curious...

Coraleen proposed that the utilisation of her species' 'telepathic' abilities presented an ample opportunity for bringing humanity into universal affairs; their technological and scientific progress was not too far away from discovering and reaching interstellar travel. At first the Council continually vetoed against Coraleen's proposal in the belief that humanity were best left to deciding their own destiny. Coraleen argued that Earth showed no signs of nearing the point of efficient deep space travel, and deserved the chance to meet that point prematurely as the race itself was extremely capable and intelligent, thus making them eligible to take part in galactic affairs. The Council eventually agreed to undertake extensive observations of Earth via 'cloaked' Ik'Tahr specialists that would visit Earth and meld with humanity as 'disguised humans' determine whether humanity were worthy of consideration. The Storgg'hi and the Cainurians had voted in favour of the investigative measures, but for vested interests; the Cainurians had had a long-standing interest in humanity for it's potential to become a booming slave-trade - they argued that humanity was not especially intelligent, and hoped the investigations would prove this. The Storgg'hi meanwhile, were impressed by the combat factions of Earth and humanity's 'no qualms' relationship with violence; the Storgg'hi desired to increase their own colonising armies with the apparently unfalteringly obedient humans.

On Earth, over roughly five years the specialist team reported regularly of the explicitly creative intelligence of mankind - their innovations and determination was impressive. They simply lacked the extensive knowledge, and were also pre-concerned with Earthly affairs over space travel. A decision was finally made by the Council to finally allow Coraleen's plan to take place. Specific scientists were selected and were telepathetically 'given' the information to finally 'discover' the key to efficient extensive space travel.

Proceeding the success of their experiment, the Americans at NASA, also joined on an international scale by many other top scientists and experts, decided upon building a fully crewed starship, aimed at reaching Dionysus250' and re-programming her to continue her journey and feed accumulated information regularly back to Earth.
In 2164 'Colossus05' was launched successfully into space, piloted by an elite, rigorously trained group of men and women - the first few members of humanity to encounter deep space... and the Intergalactic Council.
Upon reaching the Dionysus, which up until then had been cruising slowly in the orbital pull of a large asteroid, the crew of the Colossus05 were hailed by an unknown source...

Intergalactic Species'

The Human Race (http://i945.photobucket.com/albums/ad300/Scarlett_Angel/Shepard_by_spyders.jpg)
As bold and violent as always, humanity was a shocking addition to intergalactic affairs, and remain to be so with their seemingly brash and radical decisions. One such controversial proposal was to utilise the primitive 'Morlak' of the planet Econdus, an endangered species known for it's strength and reclusive, docile nature. Th first human Council Member, Yusif Gregor declared that the Morlak kind was perfect for energy conservation by the fact that it would be perfect for mining the rich environment of Econdus. The Endrognh were appalled and offended by this proposal from a race so new to Council affairs, thus making relations between humans and the Endrongh unstable to say the least.

The Cainurians (http://i945.photobucket.com/albums/ad300/Scarlett_Angel/tumblr_lz3dkrNq7V1qajnfno2_500.jpg)
Vaguely humanoid and covered in fur of varying hues, Cainurians are, to the human eye, decidedly lupine in appearance, with large expressive eyes and ears. They are a naturally slender, tall race with each Cainurian standing around 6"-7" tall. They are also all born with high stamina levels as a result of excellently formed respiratory systems, thus making them adept 'atheletes' and, paired with their keen senses, dangerous predators. Their ageing systems are similar to a humans, but more efficient, thus making them live longer but pass into adulthood more quickly.
Their bones are of an extremely light density, and of consequence, they are willowy and graceful, with notoriously delicate gaits. However, contrary to this anatomic feature and the prejudice stapled with it, Cainurians are brought up to be fierce in such a way that they are ferociously loyal to their Pack-Families.
Cainurian's govern themselves outside of the Council via the aforementioned 'Pack-Families', with an Alpha Male and Alpha female presiding over each region of a divided planet colonised by the species. The current Council Member Cainurian representative is Reaga Forth, the Alpha Female of the largest region of Cainack 5.
The Cainurian's homeworld, Cainack 5 of the Remondi System, is a predominately forest-dominated environment, dangerously habitat to a range of hostile primitive predators, however the Cainurians, thanks to their evolved intelligence, are the 'top species'.

The Ik'Tahr (http://i945.photobucket.com/albums/ad300/Scarlett_Angel/iktahr.jpg)
An androgynous race, the Ik'Tahr are well-known for their intelligence and peace-revering temperaments. In appearance they seem humanoid and feminine, only rectified by their soft, high-pitched voiced and maternal tendencies, however they are also entirely hairless and covered in silvery, smooth flesh. Their build and height are virtually parallel to an average female human's.
The scientific and technological advancement made by the Ik'Tahr is vastly admired; most medicines and new technologies such as starship computer systems and engines emerge from Ik'Tahrian research groups, the most prosperous and popular being the 'Jojang Prime Research Corp.'
The Ik'Tahr are an extremely adaptable race in the sense that they do not reproduce physically, but mentally via telepathy, therefore making reproductive organs unessential.

The Storgg'hi (http://i945.photobucket.com/albums/ad300/Scarlett_Angel/storgg.jpg)
Wrongly labelled as 'brutish' by many other races, the Storgg'ih are indeed a conquest-driven race, but they are tactical and brilliant combatants, making them marginally feared by most other races.
In appearance they are well-muscled, strong, tall -around 7.5" to 9"- and intimidating for they are reptilian-esque humanoids with cold saffron eyes and vast amounts of teeth. They also individually each feature a pair of bat-like wings growing at the shoulder-blades, perfectly suited for reaching and colonising the high peaks of their mountainous home planet.
Their origin planet Strogum is located in The Vachnor System, but the species have long since invaded and conquered the surrounding profitable planets. Beneath the law of the Council, the Storgg'hi govern themselves through a strict hierarchy system similar to ranks in a human military. 'Darwinism' is also a key feature of their lifestyle as they consider only the strongest and most cunning worthy of leadership.
Currently in place as both the elected Storgg'hi Council Member representative and the leader or 'Cuhtor' of the Storgg'hi is Baal Gyhgus; a typical warrior-like tyrant.

The Econdrgh (http://i945.photobucket.com/albums/ad300/Scarlett_Angel/tiger.jpg)
Found solely upon home planet Econdus, the Econdrgh are a race rarely seen outside of their solar system 'Remondi'. As a race they are similar to the Cainurians by the fact that they live by 'Pack-Families' and are humanoid, yet covered in thick fur, suited to the colder climates of Econdus. They stand around 6-7" tall, with the average adult male weighing around 180 pounds and the average female, 120.
Little else is known about the Econdrgh as they were nearly driven to extinction by the Cainurians during the horrific conflict that was the Cain-Econdo Wars. Thousands of both species died, the battles mostly taking place in space via battleships, or upon Econdus as the Cainurians attempted to invade. The Cainurians eventually forced the Econdrgh to surrender, their numbers still overwhelming the Econdrgh despite their losses. However the Council intervened and condemned Cainurian plans to enslave the Econdrgh, threatening to take preventative hostile action should the plan follow-through. An intergalactic war on three fronts was more than undesirable for any race, and therefore the Cainurians obeyed the Council. Relations between the Cainurians and the Econdrgh continue to be unstable, but the Council do all they can to prevent provocative actions.
Meanwhile, shamed by their defeat, the Econdrgh all but pulled out of intergalactic affairs, and focused upon rebuilding their reputation, and the wreck that has become their homeworld.

The Mache'en (https://s.deviantart.com/th/fs70/f/2009/344/2/d/Android__Gest_by_CarlosNCT.jpg)
Governed by leaders Primus, Secundus, Tertius, the Mache'en are the only independent 'synthetic' race in the Universe, created not by an outside source, but their own people.
Once organic, now synthetic, over years the species experimented upon themselves [whether the whole race was given a choice in this is dubious and debatable], giving many vague reasons for the experimentation, such as the unpredictable environment of their home planet Machenkha.
The process, dubbed as "The Great Conversion", consisted of cloning and the implantation of vital organs, gradually converting the Mache'en into an android like form, .
There is not a sole 'standard' mechanical form for their race, due to different social classes and selected careers, but they are relatively humanoid in most respects.
A resourceful and intelligent species, occasionally hindered by their unshakeable self-belief and pride, the Mache'en consistently and reliably assist the council, undertaking tasks that range from the mundane to the uniquely completable by the Mache'en alone. However, one trait that is not always welcomed is their almost fanatical view of their own 'improved existence', peddling their "Conversion" to the other races through sermons and rallies that appear to take a religious slant.
Not wanting to be reduced to extinction or may the 'Origins' forbid, forced into slavery, by the Storgg'hi they are more than willing to devote their soldiers to the cause.
Though, the occasional rebel or free-thinker crops up here and there, they are quickly put down.

Establishing Inter-galactic Peace and Prosperity

Once hailed, the crew of the Colossus05 were greeted by the Intergalatic Council. Humanity were of course, astounded, but mankind's idealistic speculation of 'other life' had finally been proved true. Some years later, after relations between the Council and Earth were established, humanity was invited to become part of the Council itself and an individual was eventually elected.

The universe is not perfectly governed however; crime is just as rife throughout space as upon Earth - just on a larger, more varied scale. Wars between species occasionally occur, but diplomacy via the Council usually wins out, with the representative Council Members signing peace documents of which have always been unshakably adhered to - one thing each creature in the universe shares is pride. This pride constructed an important rule within the Council - peace is the priority in any situation, and any race that seemingly no longer wishes to achieve this objective will be forcibly ejected from the Council. Permanently. Thus, the exiled race loses Basic Rights -similar to the Human Rights Act-, trading opportunities, reputation and all respect from other species. This rule also applies to individuals and registered organisations.

A recurring problem still to be truly addressed by the Council are the pirates and rogue mercenary bands that prowl the less secure Solar Systems.
One such 'rogue mercenary band' are the Stalus Mourrg mercs, led by Dinh'Tara Mourrg, daughter of the late Alpha Male Stalus Mourrg who was rumoured to have been murdered by his wife, Alpha Female and Council Member Reaga Forth. This rumour was stemmed from the fact the Reaga was rightly convinced of her partners Mercenary band committing acts that were unlawful under Council rule; a violent dispute occurred between the pair, escalating as Reaga's temper consumed her logic and caused her to accidentally deliver the 'final fatal blow'.
Dinh'Tara had been extremely close to her father, which consequently caused a monumental rift between her and Reaga, as her mother refused to admit to murder, and instead concocted a widely-believed story that her life had been in danger; she had 'struck in self-defence'. Therefore, in loyalty to her father, Dinh'Tara took over as presiding Commander of the Stalus Mourrg Mercenery Band and continued with her father's previous plans from his ship the 'Callio'.
In an act of both vengeance and Council justice, Reaga exiled her daughter and all individuals who were members of the Stalus Mourrg Mercs. The exile was approved by all other Council members - the STM's had disobeyed the law by performing unregistered apparent acts of 'justice' outside of the confines of the universal Mercenary Rules.

A 'Flaw' in the System

Despite the vast knowledge of the universe, still some regions of space remain largely uncharted and unexplored, potentially homing undiscovered species'...
Therefore, in the year 2640, a previously unknown race of body-invasive creatures were the cause of the beginning of the end of Intergalactic peace.
Whilst the rest of the universe remained oblvious; preoccupied with the aftermath of the Cain-Econdo Wars, and the recent inclusion of humanity, the Unknown Species launched a well-planned attack upon the Vachnor System and its primary residents - the Storgg'hi. However, the Storgg'hi remained unaware of the onslaught before it was far too late, for the attacks were laboured upon their subconscious'; the race succumbed easily.
Following this, the remaining Council Members and their respective races failed to immediately register the preparations the Storgg'hi were making, as all off-world race members were commanded to return to their home-planets in the Vachnor System; this action was considered strange by the rest of the Council, but was not interfered with. The returning individuals were also mentally 'invaded' by the Unknown Species against their will, and following this, the Storgg'hi began to introduce a rigorous training scheme that strengthened and extended the Storggan armies at an alarming rate.
By then, it was far too late for the Council to prevent the Storgg'hi from continuing with their plans; war would most definitely ensue.

The Future of the Universe...?

And so, it is the year 2670, and the fate of the universe appears bleak as the mentally-controlled Storgg'hi have begun to bloodily conquest the planets of neighbouring systems, whilst 'abducting' members of the human race for currently unknown, yet conclusively sinister reasons.
Completely at a loss, the Council begins to fall apart, as already, Baal Gyhgus has left the Council willingly before he could be forcibly ejected for destroying universal peace. The remaining Council Members have yet to decide upon an effective course of action to take; an intergalactic war with the Storgg'hi would be extremely bloody and could destroy relations permenantly. Besides, the loyalties of each race are unstable... who's to say that Cainurian's would agree to fight alongside Humanity or the Econdrgh?

Left to drift from system to system without prestige or reputation, the Callio and her talented crew are all that are left, placing them in the potential position of resolving the catastrophic situation that has overtaken the universe. Uncertain of how to proceed, but determined to prove herself to the Council and earn back her reputation for both herself and the STMs, Dinh'Tara begins by recruiting new members to strengthen her forces before even considering taking on the Storgg'hi...

Dramatis Personae

Full Name: (Commander) Dinh'Tara-Droudka Mourrg
Species: Cainurian
Age: Sixty-Two Cain years. Approx. Thirty human years.
Sex: Female
Height: 6"2
Weight: 80 Pounds - Due to a very light bone density in accordance with her species.
Occupation/Rank: Commander of the Stalus Mourrg Mercenary Band.
Key Personality Traits: Unforgiving. Bold. Assertive. Unpredictable. Loyal.
Brief Biography: Born upon Cainack 5, the Cainurian home-world of the Pyrrhus Solar System, Dinh'Tara was already born with a prestigious 'destiny', to some extent; her mother and father were Alpha Male and Female of the largest region of Cainack 5, that is, until her father's tragic death of course.

As a pup, Dinh'Tara showed particular promise in leadership skills during her 'Cubstrikerz' meetings; a group similar to human 'Cadets', which gave young pups a taste of military routine, whilst also surreptitiously training them in combatitive skills and mindset. Before his untimely demise, Alpha Mourrg also felt immense pride as it became plain his excellancy behind the controls of a starship had been inherited by his only daughter. Thus, upon 'coming of age' Dinh'Tara worked unrelentingly at propelling herself to Commander status, sadly only in time to take over her father's on his ship Callio, as Commander of his Mercenary band.

Name: ‘Doc’ Frederick Valdez*
Species: Human
Age: 34
Sex: Male
Height: 5’8’’ (1.73 Metres)*
Weight: 148 Ibs (67.13 Kilograms)
Occupation/Rank: Former Army Medical Officer and Surgeon, Former 1st lieutenant*
Key Personality Traits: Quiet. Logical. Altruistic. Reserved. Direct.
A Brief Biography: Valdez was born on the human colony of Harvid, a moderately agrarian world, where his father worked as a doctor of a fledgling industrial town. When he was a child he wished to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a doctor, however he longed for a more adventurous life and after becoming a doctor and becoming a certified surgeon with a secondary degree in xenobiology, he joined the military and became a naval surgeon. He went on to serve in the army medical corps and spent most of his time operating in triage in conflict zones, peacekeeping and the like.*

He left the military aged 29 because a senior officer rebuked him for prioritizing civilians over military personnel, even when the civilians needed immediate attention. He grew disillusioned and started working for multiple clinics, coming into dubious work, in some cases treating mercenary and pirate bands for a fee and protection. Realizing he’s become a drifter and has no set plan, he’s looking for a starship to serve on and attempt to salvage any chance he has of reliving the times when he actually saved lives that needed saving.*

Rules and Notes

- First of all, thank you for getting this far and reading all of the above! The RP will start with Commander Dinh'Tara of the Callio recruiting new members for her crew - these recruits will be your characters, unless you choose for your character to have already been an established crew member.
- The links in the species' titles are an example of a typical member of each race, for picture guidance -please abide by these guides. Also, I only wish for there to be one 'Storgg'hi' member; one fortunate creature who is immune to the Unknown Species.
- If you are interested in joining, please message me a fully completed Character Form.
- Violence and romance are of course allowed, but keep interactions realistic please. Nobody is invincible or 'falls in love' immediately. Cybering and GM-ing is not tolerated.
- I fully expect correct spelling, punctuation and grammar. I also expect well-written, carefully composed posts that have been produced with concious consideration to the plot etc. Length is not a rigid issue, but I do expect numerous paragraphs; quality over quantity please. Note; I want this RP to be as much yours as it is mine, so don't 'take a back seat' as far as the plot is concerned - it's perfectly fine to subtly mould the storyline in your posts.
- Please notify me if you are going to be absent for a while, otherwise I would prefer posts to be submitted every three or so days. If weeks go by and you have not posted you and your character will be suspended from the RP until further notice.
- The plot of this RP is original and self-created; unless you wish to gain an enemy, I would severely advise against plagiarism.
- I have zero tolerance for the breaking of these rules; they are in keeping with the current rules of the site. You will be asked to leave the RP should you disobey them.
- If you have any further questions or any problems, please do not hesitate to PM me.
