Super MashUp Ultimate Tournament!!

http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss341/SQJPure/106227432.jpg?t=1347226865

This is a Battle Arena type battle but is also a round robin tournament otherwise described as the League. A series of one on one or tag battles where challenges are made accepted, won, lost and every battle is kept score of. Each player's total score is added up in the league until the lead players take home the Ranking of the most powerful fighter of all.

The Heroes

http://www.neontommy.com/sites/default/files/users/user752/Tekken%20soul.jpg

Each player is allowed three heroes that you can use in any battle.
Your heroes can be any pre-existing character in the fictional world.

As every hit's power or 'effect' is determined by the impacted player power playing will either be meaningless or work against you.
So pick your team on how you think you can post best.

This is not only a test for people as a fighter but as a writer too since you'll be judged on writing ability.

Create a character

You will have the right and the ability to create anything and everything you want in a character right off the bat. Create a completely new hero for yourself or 'mash it up'

The door will be wholly open to you.

Welcome to SQJPure's ZERO TO... SERIES!

These will be a series of notes where you, the new guy will get one step into the world of SMUT.
Don't be lazy, actually read the shit!
It's all simple and split into easy to understand paragraphs.

http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss341/SQJPure/7a439cbf-8fe4-40f3-b727-5474236730bc_zpsfe1900e7.jpg?t=1382160130

ZERO to understanding what SMUT is in 6 easy steps.

Okay you should have read the top of the thread so Step 1 is basically done. But just in case you didn't know what step one was, it was simply:

STEP 1: Understanding

READ THIS THREAD!

Simple enough. Now you know what SMUT is we can move on to the next step.

STEP 2: League

Take a look at the main two leagues.

You have an idea that SMUT is a battle arena styled game with a league.
For you, the beginner, you need only think about the first two leagues.

The Player League (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=35305) and the Character Ranking's (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=35415)page.

You do not post anything here but once your character gets accepted he and you get put up on the list.

For More detail please look here: http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=35282

STEP 3: Judging

Now Assuming we haven't lost you yet lets get down to the more nitty gritty.

Is this your type of game?

This is meant to be a fun game right up to the judging where it becomes serious arena or league business.

Judges measure four Criteria and have a system. Remember one big thing you will hear all the time.
SMUT is a continuously running writing competition to the point where Judges are not players.
(Sorry guys no facing off against The Pure One)

Please Read this for more Information on what you need to know about judges: How we Judge your writing (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=35277)

STEP 4: Characters

There's a big list of characters you can choose from. And by that I mean the whole world. But not the real life world, no real life characters.
In a nut shell you are allowed keys to the fictional world and your own world of characters and you can use them to battle with the best of em.

Please read here for more depth into it: Picking a Character (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=48777)

STEP 5: The Fights

This is the most simple step of all how to fight on smut grounds.

Basically like any role play fight you've ever been in. But with two rules.

75 words per post OR 150 Words per Post

NEVER BOTH IN THE SAME BATTLE!

There is a whole world of Types of battles you can throw your character into but they always follow those battle criteria

Details on the types of battles: Battle Types and you! (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=35278)

Details on 75 word battles: 75 Words
(http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=40693&p=1323451&viewfull=1#post1323451)
Details on 150 word battles: 150 words (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=40693&p=1656761&viewfull=1#post1656761)

STEP 6: Locations

Knowing where to fight is just as fun as fighting itself sometimes, so getting into that smooth vibe can only lead to good times.

Now the vast majority of matches are going to be held in individual player threads. You will have a thread where you host your battles where the only congestion or activity is on you.
You can build vast worlds and powerful realities.

Details on making arenas and your own thread: Threads and Landscaping
(http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=35286)

And just like that you now know everything you need to know about SMUT as a beginner.
Hopefully that sums SMUT up nicely.

The next Zero To will get you to your first Character.

Lets get this Going big Boi!

ZERO TO YOUR FIRST CHARACTER IN 5 EASY STEPS

So now you get what SMUT does, now to get you active in the world of SMUT!

STEP 1: Characters??

This is a read easy step:

READ THE TOP!

And boom now you get that there's lots of characters to choose from.

STEP 2: Picking Between SMUT/ Hybrid and Original

Smut is a writing competition above all else so some major rules involving all writing are kinda pushed to the side and an element on balance is hoped for from us the judges because when you have this much power in your hands it's really easy to be a bag of douche. So check out this thread, the very top to be exact: READ THIS IMPORTANT (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=48777&p=1659087&viewfull=1#post1659087)

STEP 3: SKIM THIS

You will be shown this specific post again but I believe it's a good thing to keep in mind.
Yes, in SMUT Spongebob Squarepants should be able to crush Superman in a battle but for that to work without cheating, it will require you being a really good.
It's a bit like playing a game of chess with a few pieces missing. Against someone who doesn't play chess often you might still one but against someone as good as you, you will most certainly lose.
So keep it in mind.

Step 4: See other Character sheets

This is a good way to help you create your characters. Look at the example of other sheets.
Read (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=50090&p=1696252&viewfull=1#post1696252)

Step 5: Read and Post

Check out the character sheet Page and fill in your characters! It's go time!
Remember you don't have to fill your limit right off the bat. It is ideal to put up characters one at a time because you never know what character type will suite you best until the battles have started.

You have your character in mind yet?
You post yet?

Your character get approved yet?

GOOD!

Zero to King in 4 easy steps!

Step 1: Get a character! (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=50090)

Now the rules are Super simple here.

You just have to go to the character sheet application thread. (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=50090)

Find a character that's there.

AND USE THAT CHARACTER!

This is one of the only instances where you can use a character and their character avatar without the owner's permission. Since the use of the character doesn't count for anything outside of the SMUT King Of the Hill dimension.
No death affects
No scoring effects
No history affects either.
No gaining or losing weapons and armour too.

If you don't want to burrow a character that's on that thread or you don't want to use one of the characters there, then create one for your team.(assuming you still have one of your three slots open) How to do it is here (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=35276&p=1697419&viewfull=1#post1697419).

STEP 2: Find out if you can lay your claim or challenge!

You may have your character but first make sure the event is open. The game is first come first serve. So as soon as the Judge makings his ruling ATTACK! If someone does it first.
Well that sucks.
But wait. You'll get your chance.
PS if you've lost in one streak you can't challenge again until the next streak begins. (subject to change depending on activity)

STEP 3: It's open?

You waited! The game ended, you got lucky!

Or...

Even better there's no one on the throne!
Then it's simple. You lay your claim simply by picking a location from the every growing location list and post your character as the king(or queen).

Then challengers enter your realm, or location, and that counts as the first battle post.

nine posts later(5 each) the game end and the judge announces the winner

And the next challenger steps in.

IF the challenger wins he can stay in the same location or move on to one they prefer.

Step 4: Win or Lose?

If you were king and you lost it, you can't challenge right away for a rematch because you are now the first win for your opponent's streak. And remember you can't enter another person's streak.

Zero to having your own battle thread set up in 4 easy Steps

Step 1: HAVE A CHARACTER FIRST!

There's no point in having a battle thread if you yourself don't actually have any characters to battle with. So get of your ass and make at least one character.

Yes, one could argue that with the ability to loan characters you could in theory have a full and successful battle career without ever actually creating a character of your own. And although possible, that's kinda boring.

Also each individual land is made better when treated like a proper home ground for your character. And by that I mean it has something that will suite your character as an idea battle condition.

MAKE A CHARACTER

Here, read this for details on making a character.

Step 2: Look at other battle threads!

The best means to get an idea of what a location should look like is to look at other more successfully built and used threads

Here are some good threads to look at.

Example Arena 1#
(http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=35677)
Example Arena 2# (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=35424&p=1118567&viewfull=1#post1118567)

Example Arena 3# (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=38394&p=1236623&viewfull=1#post1236623)

Step 3: Make the Thread!

But where to make it!?

That one is a very very simple one.

Right HERE
(http://role-player.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=412)
That is the third Subforum otherwise known as the Battle Theatre.

You Simply Create a new Thread. By Clicking the new thread button.

Then you give your thread a name. Everyone generally creates their own unique name.

*Remember: You can't edit the title of a thread thanks to RPA allowances so you have to talk to a mod about changing it if you do change it.

Step 4: Follow the template!

As you would have seen in other threads there is a SMUT thread template.

Create a table for yourself to show where you are in the league, doesn't get updated for you!

Create a table for your characters, doesn't get updated for you.

Then fill in your locations. The Max, for now, is ten.

Do as you wish with your locations have fun with them!
It's easier just to post pictures of landscapes but more fun to write them out and combine the two. For a fuller effect.

And there you have it!

You can Create your own Arena now!

BONUS NOTES!

From Regular Arena to HOT ARENA in 2 not so Easy Steps!

Step one 1: Find out the difference between the two!

That's an easy step as we at SMUT have tried to make that easy for you with this video!

m3FnQF6peNY

It does pretty well to explain the differences.

Step one 2: Adding Hot items to make your Arenas Hot Arenas.

Build your arena first then add hot items to it to make it a hot Arena.

Look here for ideas on Hot Items. (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=39136)Though the vid pretty much says it all.

Note:
A thing to remember is that Hot Arenas are considered to be advanced elements so the most wise thing to do if you don't want to be judged negatively is to avoid them.
Of course if you can handle them then do your thing, build em in your thread.
Sometimes less is more!
