Smut is open and ready for action if you didn't know then it's about time you get in the know. You better ask somebody!

Welcome to the first issue of the Gazette. I am your intrepid reporter man. Picture that guy, his muscles and super powers then make him African. Because that is the thing to do. This is the first week of the SMUT in action and there is a great deal to tell so lets get going.

These are the founders of this grand event and will easily be the most attentive and keen members of the whole event. Like dam holding waves upon waves of awesome they are the ones who will help ensure that things never grow dull and never burn themselves out.

That's pretty much it.

Now about the rest of council, the vivacious, voluptuous and just plain cool vixen Arial.

The first female member of the counsel, she's a work of art, her designs are pretty much everything that makes this grand event so stunning.

Then there's the hardcore, hard hard to the bone and hard to share burger with, Jacogos.

This man is the brains and function behind this whole event were it not for him this would be out of control and illogical.

Remember this is your council if there's a question in your heart and a song in your step then feel free to ask! OR IMMA SHOOT YOU!!





NEW characters


The first thing every player needs to do is set up their character. A task made simple by the character sheet designed by our most brilliant Council member Jac. Let's have a look at it.

Team Name: (ONLY USE THIS ONCE [Unlike the rest, which are used for every character], preferably outside of the Spoiler tags. Not necessary, but I'm sure some of you would like to be creative :P)

Name: (The character's name. Include however many titles you wish.)

Where They are From: (Mostly self explanatory, but also important. What rendition of the character will you be using? (if there are multiple) This should also align with his/her/it's appearance image)

Appearance: (If it exists, I'm sure there is an image of it on Google Images. Use it. And make sure it works with Where They are From. Don't use movie Batman appearance if you're using the one from the cartoon.)

Weapons: (This is just so people don't have to go to Wikipedia to make sure you ain't pulling shit out of your ass. Even Batman can't be prepared for EVERYTHING, so be realistic, folks.)

Abilities: (Some people are super powered. Some people have access to powers not of this world. Some people... well, we can't really explain it. Keep this generic but informative. Goku has the ability to project energy into damaging forms [Kamehameha], super strength, and super speed and reflexes. If you really want to list every 'ability' he has [Such as Spirit Bomb, Kamehameha Wave, etc.], be my guest.)

Tell me that character sheet does just scream Jacogos. Brought a tear to my eye and a chuckle to my heart just reading it and of couse it was a pleasure filling it.

And I was not the only one to full mine that is for sure.

The range is absolutely legendary I know my mind if blown just trying to think bout who I shall be picking to go up against,, there are characters which are destined to play off each other as they clash upon universes while other players meet from universes unknown and unmet. Gaming universes, Manga, Anime, TV, Hollywood! It's all here and there will be more to come. As the recruiting process grows and more people join into what the council is determined to make RPA's ultimate gaming/Role playing experience.

Hells yeah Arenas, this is were all the biggest battles go down. you have enough winning battles inside of your arena and boom before you know it you could have your own battle badge in your hands. Just imagine that shiny award. And think about all those points for your character. It will never end. It will just go on and on forever!

More Battle fun.


Lets have look at that battle. Talk about supreme zealous action! There was definitely an entertainments factor with the laughing man's post as he had me grinning from ear to ear with his opening post. Not many people open with a video, but let us hope he wasn't the last!

Even with the shenanigans there was some impressive battling going on with both players starting with speed, going for the shorter posts, nailing about seventeen posts before the end of their first day of battling.

The one thing to notice is how both players used the rule covering the right to use the auto hit function with both players taking an unimaginable beating on both sides, effectively giving a back and forth of epic proportions.

Notes:
Good characterization both of you. The Laughing Man stayed in character very well with all those hilarious "KIAAAYYYAAAAA" and "SEEEIIYAAAAAA". XD You both played off of each other really well, the posts flowed well. The Laughing Man had the best post (Post #13), it was the best attack in this battle! And the balance of power was really well done between the two of you.



The Green Ranger recieved 5 hero points where as TheLaughingMan received 3 player points.

As there' was only one battle that reached completion I will reserve the editors choice for best post and best battle. Instead I will post the word of the day!

Now if you've read the battle you would think the word would be Syaaa! But it's not! You would have guessed wrong, you would be walking up a creak without a paddle, you would just be wrong. It's actually the awesome amount of times they used the word would. ^^ It was awesome.

Welcome to the first edition of the S.M.U.T Gazette in a long time. This is officially the third issue and will now be a weekly or fortnightly publication depending on S.M.U.T activity and our energy levels. Since our normal reporter is buried under 3 tons of paperwork I’ve graciously stepped in to get an issue out. So without further ado read!

Ever wondered who makes the S.M.U.T clock go round? Well here are all the people who work behind the scenes to make S.M.U.T work.

First up our Chairman SQJPure! The man who runs everything from the top and was subsequently buried under 3 tons of paperwork. Anything new you see on S.M.U.T you can almost guarantee he was part of, or thought of and asked someone else to do. He’s sunk hours of work into every aspect of the game. When asked for his thought he gave the following quote -
[8:12:40 PM] Pure: I'm in charge of EVERYTHING (commits suicide)

Next up is yours truly. I’m kind of like Pure’s secretary. Anything he can’t handle gets passed along to me to complete. This helps to take the burden off of his shoulders and stop that paperwork getting to 4 tons. You’ll probably see me all around S.M.U.T as well.

Third up is amazing Arail, Organisational Guru. Arail is in charge of keeping the member and character rankings up to date. It’s a lot of work keeping track of every finished battle but she makes sure to keep the tables updated.

Fourth up is our beautiful Love Amore, Judge Extraordinaire. Love is our top judge, in charge of organising who judges which match and recruiting new judges. She also continues to judge battles when she can, using her experience to do the job of 2 judges.

Fifth up is Jolly Jacogos, S.M.U.Ts Gatekeeper. If you want to get into S.M.U.T you’ve got to get past this guy first. Make sure everything is in order on your CS so he can approve you and get you fighting asap.

Finally our feisty Bee Bear, Miss Public Relations. Bee is in charge of recruitment and public relations. If she approaches you in a dark alleyway don’t worry, she’s there to induct you into S.M.U.T, not mug you.

That’s a list as big as the first week of S.M.U.T and shows just how we’re continuing to grow so long after starting. It’s still great to see characters from all forms of literature being picked and giving and idea of just how far S.M.U.T is reaching.


In this new section of the gazette, every issue 3 arenas will be specially showcased for their uniqueness and interesting design.

First up, Danijel’s Batcave!

Danijel’s batcave is a massive arena featuring multiple levels, some held up only by steel wires, in an underground complex. The Dark Knight’s tools litter the cave and a giant supercomputer dominates one level.

Second up, Dough’s Pirata City!

The city of the Pirata, no longer under siege by the Doge, is a thriving commercial town, if a little shady. One giant tower the upper levels are where the leaders live and where the most prominent helipads are. As you go down the areas become more jumbled with random machine parts littering the levels. Construction cranes are still around all over the city repairing the last bits of remaining damage.

Finally, Kiwi’s golden bridge!

This bridge stands hundreds of feet above rapid rivers and dangerous, rocky cliffs. It is about one hundred feet from end to end and twenty-ish feet from side to side. There is a metal rail along the edges to keep travelers from falling. There are metal arches over the bridge that act mostly as decoration. Along the legs of the bridge are several levels that are quite difficult to get to from the bridge.

The Players

So we’ve had a lot of activity in recent times and we’re starting to see some real progress on the leaderboard. At the top we have a 3 way tie between myself (on top due to highest susan points), Cfavano in second and SQJPure coming in at the bottom of the top, all of us sitting on 2 wins and a draw each. In second place we have Ace the Stampede on their own sitting on a solid 2 wins from 2 games, though they are now inactive. Finally in third place we have Jeremor and Jacgos sitting on a single win each. Only a single power point puts Jeremor ahead of Jacogos. But in the coming weeks with so many new battles coming to a close who knows how that will change!

The Characters

Unlike the players the character leaderboard is nice and divided for the top 3 slots. In first we have Ahzek Ahriman pulling 24 points from his 2 matches. In second is Dumbledore on 21 from 2 battles. Finally in third is The God-Emperor on 18 from his 2 matches.


Since the last Gazette we’ve had a lot of new developments, enough to warrant their own article in the Gazette.

Recent Updates

First up is our new official ranks thread (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=39134&p=1263097#post1263097). While no one has ranked up yet (though some people are getting close) and it is incomplete, it shows how many ranking points are needed to reach each rank and the names of the first few. It also lists rank up rewards such as hot items and free agent tokens. In time each rank will have its own name and an accompanying picture.

Second is the Legendary Grounds thread (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=38953). Since S.M.U.T arena threads technically have no finish it’s important for there to be a set of rules showing when a player’s thread deserves to rest its weary post count and head to the hall of fame. Here you can find the requirements and a useful checkbox to make sure you’re doing what’s needed to get your thread retired and receive a well-earned badge.

Thirdly is something you will all be familiar with but I’ve included anyway. In order to make judging battles easier Love created a judging thread where you post your finished battle to make sure the judges see it. Here you can also find the list of current judges and request a pair if you like.

Fourth is the updates to the Challenge thread. The original thread became bloated with people talking about their battles and it became a worry that some challenges could be missed. To remedy this the challenge thread was split in 2. One thread is used purely for challenging people and chatter is not allowed in there. The other is used for replying and organising fights. So far this method has proven reliable and everyone is happy.

Fifth is the new Battles Record thread (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=38848). Here you can find every single battle in S.M.U.T and all the information about it including the arena, winner and scores for each category. If you ever want to get an idea for S.M.U.T’s history check it out.

Sixth is a smaller update. The requirements for a free agent have been added to the thread.

Seventh is also small. An extra type of battle system was added to the laboratories.

Finally the Hot Arena thread (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=39136) was added. Hot arenas are a new thing that will become available to players who rank up. They allow you to add dynamically shifting items to an arena to make battles more exciting.

Coming soon are 2 more S.M.U.T guides. Pure will be releasing both beginner and intermediate S.M.U.T guides to help players with their writing at each level.

So it’s been a little over 2 weeks since the last issue of the Gazette and I apologise for it taking so long. I was very sick for a week and basically unable to do any SMUT work then once I got better we had a few big council issues to get out of the way which took up my time. However at long last here is the latest issue of the Gazette!

So in the week after the last issue we had a massive recruitment boom for SMUT. 6 RPA members joined SMUT bringing a whole host of new characters to the mix. While one of those members did unfortunately have to leave SMUT the other 5 have stayed with us and already started battling. Let’s introduce them!

First up Lukasade and his Mungfubblian Alliance of Sam Gideon from Vanquish, Terramorphous the Invincible from Borderlands 2, Pipsqueek the Pony from My Little Pony, Ezio Auditore De Firenze from assassin’s Creed and Archangel Tyrael from Diablo.

Next up is CrumpetCannon and his Cunning Linguists. The team includes Officer and Maverick GM Sho Minamimoto from the World Ends with You, Dark God Thrackerzod from the abridged mlp series Mentally Advanced, Iorek Byrnison from the Dark Materials series, Justin Law from Soul Eater and The Predator from the Predator movies.

Third is Momo with a team of 4 appropriately named The Sparkly Four. In order of sparkliness Darth Revan from KOTOR, Dr. Doom from Marvel, Link from the Zelda series and Octodad from the Octodad game.

Fourth is RossSandwich and their 2 man team of resident evil heros called Hydra Fists. They chose Jake Muller and Helena Harper, both from resident evil 6 as their 2 characters.

Finally we have Fergy and their 3 man Flatulent Squad. As the most flatulen tIchigo Kurosaki from Bleach comes first followed by Metal Gear Ray and Raiden from the metal gear series.

So you’ve probably all been wondering what the council work I was busy with was and surprise you get to find out.

First up is the new death thread. This thread gives a more in depth look at the depth element of SMUT. It explains death from the judges perspective, surviving fights and includes a death counter (under construction). Next is something you may not have known SMUT included. It was a rule in fact, which took some of the judges by surprise itself due to its complex nature and the obscurity of it. The Autohit rule. I will start by saying this is a rule only experienced players should use. Due to its complexity it is easy for a newer player to use it incorrectly and end up godmodding instead. The Autohit rule in unique to SMUT and allows you to land a hit (albeit one which can be deflected, parried or neutralised). Last issue you may remember I reviewed a bunch of arena’s and gave recommendations to some for use. Remember if you want an arena badge you need to have at least 2 battles not including yourself in your thread. So it’s a good idea to help each other out by battling outside of your own thread and making your own arena’s as attractive as possible. This week I’m reviewing the arenas of only the newest arena threads. Next issue everyone will have a chance to be featured.

This fortnight’s top fight was a good one. Surprisingly though it occurred between 2 ordinary fighters and wowed the judges with its simple perfection rather than explosive action. It was a fight I had the pleasure of judging myself along with Jacogos and was between 2 of our best, Bee Bear and SQJPure.

In the end the battle went to Bee with an impressive score of 98 points triumphing over Pure on an excellent 82. Using Kyuzo and Afro Samurai respectively the 2 showed how even the simplest fighters can do amazing things. Congratulations to both of you!
