The first realm of Death is a deceptively peaceful place. The water about your feet rushes steadily downstream with no clear aim, but in the distance you can hear the roar of the First Gate, a gigantic waterfall. Far behind you lies the misty border, allowing your passage back into the realm of the living. Everything takes on a grey tint in this world, and the longer you stay the more of your life force is gradually sucked away. Although the dead here can do nothing but watch, the threat lies in the knee-high waters, which you have a constant urge to simply lie down in. To lie down and let yourself drift away to true death...
