Papel set at the counter with a clean rag and a couple dozen mugs. her red gold hair pushed over her shoulders and behind her ears as she worked on cleaning the silver wear. The youngest of the two inn keepers she could easily be mistaken for a child and Matilda her mother, which was not the case. she abnormal small teen worked away on her chore before placing the last mug in its place. "Okay Tildy the mugs are done I finished the silver wear and I've put all the plats and bowls away is there anything I'm missing?" she called.

Matilda grinned where she stood on the third floor walkway, she looked down at the Inn with the pride of a mother watching her child's first steps. She had just finished checking each of their twenty-five rooms to ensure their readiness and when Papel announced that the main hall was ready she clapped her hands together loudly "I think we're good!" she called happily "Time to open 'er up?" she asked as she headed down the stairs.

Papel thought for a moment as she moved out into the middle of the room to watch Matilda make her way down. "I suppose we might start a fire but other then that Ay I would say so and soon after, start the food!" Papel gave a wide smile as she tucked the washing rag at her waist. "Where should we put the signs?" she asked the older of the two.

Matilda nodded and went to poke up the glowing embers into a roaring fire "If we put one sign down at the end of the bridge and one above the door we should have guests by noon tomorrow!" cheered the woman, stepping back when the fire flared to life. She grabbed one of the signs and a hammer and headed for the front door "Shall we?" she asked excitedly.

Papel smiled her the older women's excitement and picked up the next sign with a nod and made her way out the door. stopping to take a breath of fresh air coming directly off the lake bed before turning to the bridge and making her way there. "My we sure fixed this place up fast. do you remember what it was like when we first set our eyes on it?!" she girl asked as she peered over the edge of the bridge at the almost still-as-glass water.

Matilda shuddered, remembering the overgrown garden, the dead grass and the crumbling building that they had purchased. "It's much better now." She said firmly, not wanting to remember the bloodstains on the walls and floor from the assorted bar fights.

Papel nodded with a small "ay." she she now followed behind. once they reached the other end she carefully placed the sign. 'There now we are all set." she said with a quite smile. "Should we start preparing the food? we have a large pig and nothing else to do with it and I already made sure it fit on the spit and in the fireplace!"

"Nothing like a pig on a spit to bring in the hungry travelers, eh?" Said Matilda, nudging the younger girl with her hip. She stepped back to admire the view of the sign with the Inn in the distance. "And nothing like opening up to get my blood pumping."

Papel chuckled quickly catching herself from the other women's nudge. "then we better get working on that pig!" she said decidedly before turning on her heels and making her way back over the bridge with Matilda.

a long stretch of bridge carefully placed and firmly holding as one would cross to find a lonely little island upon the glass waters.

There is a large building that meats your eyes dominating the lush gardens and field surrounding it. hanging above the door is a welcome sign with a white dove painted on it.

Entering the first thing that meets you is the warmth from the flames that burn at the fire side. the seconded is the mouthwatering smell of roasting pig that sits over this fire. third is the murmur of people, though few there are still others of all factions you can name. forth are the two abnormally large, and muscular, men that dice at a table closest to the door. they eye you as you enter but continue one with their game. Last but not least there is a sing hanging next to the door. it reads...

4 beings stride into the Inn, and, even though they are from 2 different factions, they actually get along. Surprising, right? They all sit down at a table, and signal that they want to order.

A thin man with a mildly elaborate outfit enters the building with ragged clothing wrapped around his feet and hands. Only the tips of his pointed toes and fingers are visible. Upon setting foot within he removes his cap holding it in his grasp while giving a polite smile to the men playing dice. He takes care to lift his feet high with each step so that he may not scratch the ground beneath him. Walking up to the bar Oko places one hand lightly upon it swiping it slightly to get a feel for the texture. As he stands the man takes note to look around and see who is currently at the Dove while he waits for some service.

Matilda strode over to the table that held her first customers, as she passed the gentleman at the bar she signaled that she'd be with him in just a moment "Welcome to the Painted Dove, what can I do ya' fer?" she asked with a big grin. "We got mead and beer and wine and bread, we'll have a roast pig pretty soon and some other good eats."

"You have any human flesh? I would also like the blood of a 12 year old virgin." Says Mildred. "Hmmmm, I would like...A paladin, in chains, and a nice... dark red wine." Zasareyt says, almost moaning at the thought. "I will take some white rice, roasted vegetables, and a small bottle of rice wine." Zilong tells the waitress. "I'll have what he's having!" Julia giggles.

"A bottle of red wine, a bottle of rice wine and two plates of roasted vegitables with rice?" confirmed Matilda "And I'm afraid we're all out of human flesh, virgin blood of any age and chained paladins. Would you like to order anything different?"

Mildred grumbles. "Do you have any large live animals, then? Bring me one." "Oh, phooey. Well, frogs legs, then." Zilong and Julia nod.

A flash at the door, and in a dark corner appeared the dark figure of a mage. At first glance, he was nothing special--He could even be a Cleric, to the casual observer. It was the second glance that revealed the most information--A slight, purple, eldritch spark ran up and down his cane. His face, save for his mouth, was covered by shadow. Overlaying the shadow was unnaturally white hair, which sparked with energy in much the same manner as that of the cane. With a slow, measured pace, he took seat at a table, seemingly untaken.
In the seat across from him materialized another being. A smirk plastered his face, and he wore a black tuxedo with gold trim. Putting a hand to his chin, he looked about. "My compliments to the owners," he stated, amused. "You've done well with this place, considering it's...ahem shady past. If the rumors are to be believed." He raised a hand, "A nice wine for the man over there, and a water. If you can, with a dead spirit within."

"Frog's legs it is, and..." Matilda thought for a moment, she couldn't bring a live animal inside nor did she want to "Hows about I bring you a raw steak?" she suggested after a moment a silence.

Matilda nodded "I'll have the drinks right out." she said, tossing a smile and a nod at the newcomers "Got it! And thanks." she said as she walked behind the bar to address the man who stood there "And what'll it be for you?" she asked, her smile broad and care free. She hadn't expected things to work out so well so soon.

Papel quietly came from the kitchen door hefting two drinks. "I've got them." She said to Matilda as she passed the women to make her way to the two men sitting at the farther end. "Here's your fine whine sorry if its not that chilled." she said apologetically setting both drinks down in front of the men. "Will there be anything else?" she asked quietly folding her hands in front of her as she waited for a response.

The man turned to her and extended his neck slightly causing his head to push out further while it tilted back exposing his chin a bit more. "I was curious about if you have brown rice tea served hot." His right hand left his side while his arm bent moving outwards in an expressive manner. Palm flat towards the ceiling with fingers spread out. "I would also like to know if you have any selection of fish and their prices."

Dezeroth spoke up now. "Steamed rice, if you would, please. You'd be surprised how much of a luxury that can be."

Brevsin strode in, stretching his sore muscles. Seron had been giving him a beating, again, and the man was about ready for some rest and relaxation. Why he came to this particular place was beyond him, but he'd heard it had just opened up, so....Looking around, he gave a confident smile. "Would anyone care to share company?"

Oko nodded at the girl as she left him. He leaned backwards balancing himself upon his hands with both flat on the bar behind him. Craning his neck from right to left he noticed the newcomer talking about the prospect of conversation. His left hand rose up daintily with only one finger straightened as the others curled into his palm. "I'd enjoy a small party if you don't mind standing."

Papel nodded to Dezeroth keeping mental note as she gave him a light smile at his comment. "coming right up." she said before turning on her heels to head back to the kitchen. She turned her head as the door opened up "welcome!" she greeted before she slipped once again past the counter and vanished into the kitchen. it was a few moments before the small girl came back out once again with what had been ordered carefully balanced in her hands. she set it down. "there careful now that just came out." she warned rubbing her hands together for a moment.

With a small twirl the girl turned once again and headed back into the kitchen to prepare some more food. men where always hungry there for she might as well get something else cooking.

"Why yes, I wished to see if such a fantasy was reality or not. So far it seems I have not been lied to." He bowed deeply with one hand still behind his back and the other now upon his chest. During this his eyes closed and opened slowly as he rose. "I am known as Chin by the way. What may I call you?"

10-30-2012, 03:02 AM
He gave another confident smile before returning the bow, saying "I am known as Brevsin." If the name did not strike the mans' memories, then it was likely better that way. "And I came here because the battlefield is no place to speak of others of my beliefs."

Papel quietly returned out handing one of the two men as that bar his drink. "sorry for the wait Matilda has found herself busy so it might be a minute but here is your brown rice tea." she said presently. she turned on her heels quickly to vanish back into the kitchen once more before coming out with a tray full of what the earlier guests had ordered. "Right here's some frog legs hums the meat and here's yours sir..." she said placing what she had in front of each as she went. She then turned once more in a flurry of skirt and heels and made her way back to the two men. 'anything for you?" she asked Brevsin.

10-30-2012, 03:09 AM
Brevsin shook his head. "I'll be fine for the moment." It'd be better to keep a clear head; after all, he might be in a neutral zone, but people might not take a liking to his beliefs...He had to make sure he didn't break any rules.

He nodded to the woman as she brought his drink giving a half smile. It sat there steaming in front of him as he gave it a moment to cool. "It's a fitting place to exercise them though." His eyes scanned about again looking for any that could be giving them any attention. "You are right though in that one shouldn't expect much in the way of conversation with death only a breath away. Perhaps you are educated in some manner, giving your thoughts merit to those with eras?"

Brevsin shook his head. "I was taught by my father, which is the reason I am literate. Most of my life was spent learning under him...He was kind, but not quite a follower of the Soul Orbs...And so I grew up with his beliefs." The warrior shrugged, "Unfortunately, he passed away, and I kept to his final words. Such is my way. Along the way, I gained my first lessons in combat escaping from my Father's past...Which came to haunt me...And was taught in a military Academy after being saved." He gave a smile, "I suppose you weren't calling for a life story, but it's hard to explain my education without explaining it all."

"Well whether by the word of a parent or some school of thought, the process of learning is all the same." His left hand grasped the plate upon which the tea cup sit raising it to chest height. "Do not mind yourself so much sir carrying such a weight. What is the purpose of society if not for the sharing of the burdens upon our shoulders?" With his right hand he lifted the tea cup from the plate putting it up to his lips and lightly tilting it. As he did this he made a slightly disgruntled face and lowered it back onto the plate. "Perhaps I should have given it another minute to cool."

Brevsin laughed. "I'm sorry, it's just that I come from a land where heat is little problem to us." A glance went to his bracers, before muttering "Although sometimes the distinct lack of heat is unnerving..." Seeming to ignore his own statement, he continued on. "..I suppose I'll do a little speaking while you're drinking." He leaned up against the bar, staring into oblivion for a while. "...Ever wondered why it is that all these terrible things are happening? This devastating war...The rumors of mist on the distant horizon...Don't be too surprised about that. Fieran fishermen sail quite close to the sea...And yet, we seem to have one great gift come from it? The Meragia?" He paused for a moment, taking in a breath. "...Ever think that perhaps the Meragia are false gods? And that we won't be able to stop our wars until they're gone?"

Oko gave an open mouth smile at his remark of heat while nodding his head. After listening to the words of the man the serpent gave a look to the table full of mixed people. "I think perhaps you should consider who may or may not be listening in sir. While perhaps I'm not as easily bothered you never know who might take offense to sacrilege." He gave his tea another try and gave a light breath of air after enjoying the flavor. "Then again perhaps my lack of great care could show omens to others."

Brevsin shook his head. "They may attempt to break the peace, but I will refuse to fight. Hopefully justice will be swift." He gave a sheepish grin, "Why, Seron would probably say it's just further training." With a sigh, though, he shrugged. "But it seems as though that's what it is--No true gods would choose to sow so much strife."

Dezeroth and Vvlore chatted happily, though those around them knew not that what they said was just light-hearted nonsense. The real meat of things was going on around them...."So, how goes your own research?" Dezeroth questioned, leaning in, a distracted smile on his face? "Fine, as always. With all this interesting news going on in the world, though, I can't help but shake my head! Why, sometimes I feel like I'm moving at only half the speed of everything around me!" Dezeroth nodded. "That's quite common. Scholars can't help but feel like rocks among the tides of our surrounding world."

Leaning back it came to Oko's attention that his meal had arrived with a wooden fork. He made sure that nothing had spilled onto his back when pumping into it and set his tea down besides himself. "Ah peace never does last long does it? Every time it would seem it is achieved someone else comes up with what they consider the true vision." He placed a bit of the meat into his mouth and carefully chewed it swallowing it after a few moments. "Catfish, a delightful surprise. But you shouldn't concern yourself too much with justice sir. You'll go mad trying to think on a level above mortal minds."

Eddren
10-30-2012, 03:49 AM
Brevsin chuckled. "Perhaps we are thinking too high. Think of it; the animals manage to get along better than we do." He sighed, "And yet--I still wish I could stop it from happening. But there's no way to do as much without crushing all rebellions with an iron fist." A shake of his head, now. "And I can't bring myself to do that...Not unless they kill innocents..."

Tolvo
10-30-2012, 03:53 AM
"I agree to a degree. Animals seem to have a better balance than we do." His mouth filled again with the meat being chewed and swallowed by the serpent. "They still kill one another regularly and fight. Yet they don't let it be personal to my understanding. Eat what can be eaten. I'd suggest sticking to your limitations sir and to quit concerning yourself too much with the world. You'll do more with focus."

Eddren
10-30-2012, 03:58 AM
"That's what I've always been told, but....That's how things have always been treated, haven't they? I mean, really, that's what got us into this whole mess. Our leaders...They no longer have limitations."

Tolvo
10-30-2012, 04:04 AM
"I imagine they have limitations. We just haven't seen the edge of their painting yet but it must be there." Oko placed his food down and picked up his tea for a few drinks. As he put it down again he pointed to it with a single finger. "Perhaps tea would help calm your fiery soul sir. It isn't healthy to live with such stress and determination."

Fire. There's that word again. I suppose he could pick up on my origins as well as anyone else. A casual order of tea for himself, and Brevsin nodded. "Well, they certainly seem to be willing to test it at the cost of thousands of lives."

10-30-2012, 02:03 PM
"I suppose if the people are willing to throw down their lives it would be considered their own choice." The man picked up his plate of food and continued the meal. After a few bites he put down the fork and removed a rag from inside of his clothing. Silently Oko wiped his mouth and put it back. "If I told a man to jump from a cliff and he does, is it at my head? Even though he can see the sharp rocks at the bottom and knows only death follows?"

Papel was now in the back preparing more meals for more people coming in.

Karrha quietly came in leaving her bow and quiver at one of the tables close to the door and even closer to the men who diced. Glancing around she could only make out a few that she could easily tell from what faction. still she was relaxed if not open. it was a simple fact here there was no fighting and Karrha no intentions of braking the rule, besides she simply just did not care enough to do so should that opportunity present itself.

Moving to one side of the bar she set herself down and waited quietly till Papel came out to greet her. "What can I get you?" the girl asked the older women. "Some herbal tea if you will." the latter answer quietly leaning into the bar as she relaxed herself and closed her eyes. she was not at all watchful it seemed nor tens. of coarse thats not what this place was for either. The door of the Dove swung open slamming into the wall as a bulky tall man stood in the door way. His head sunk as he looked about pointing casually towards the door. "It, looked a lot heavier than I, sorry about that." Before continuing the man slowly pulled the door back and carefully closed it looking at the mark upon the wall. "Why that's, you can barely notice it!" He tried to tip toe through the Dove hoping no one was really paying too much attention to him as he saw Karrha's bow. A big smile crossed his face as he marched over towards her with both shoulders raised causing him to strut like a peacock. "No." she said simply turning back around to see Papel come back out the door with a wild stare "Don't be alarmed." Karrha said simply to her "No one's starting a bar fight quite yet." The door to the tavern opened slowly and a heavily cloaked figure entered. The figure tried not to attract notice with his entrance, but apparently the two dicing men saw all who entered. The figure hesitated for a moment before swallowing (rather loudly to his ears) and continuing inside. He sat at a table away from the other groups, hoping for some solace for the moment in this apparently neutral zone.

He raised his hand briefly towards the innkeeper, hoping to get a warm meal for once. Rations had left a rather bland taste in his mouth for the past few months.

'What can I do for you?" she asked pleasantly as she reached the hooded figure.

Karrha quietly sipped her tea listening to the man and watching her hand though she kindly refused to shake it as she continued to hold her cup. "Karrha." she said quietly taking another sip. She had been hopping for a little more quietness but it seemed it was a little more then unavoidable at this point so she might as well be kind, as kind as one like herself got. she had noticed Dez and might have, might have, greeted him had he not had other company with him looking as if he was busy however she put this out of her mind and turned to her new 'friend'

"Ah!" The bombastic man looked down at his dirt covered hand. "Not a fan of dirt are you? Well that's okay sister!" He picked up the rabbits leg and began to take chunks out of it chewing heavily with his seemingly fang like teeth. "If you aren't a hunter what do you have a bow for deer? Seems a bit out of place to carry something like that if you aren't doing what's natural with it." Blood dripped down his maw onto his chest which was tattooed with a strange message. Crudely inked into his skin was the word "Circle" in the very center between his bare nipples. "You know you should eat more get some muscle on those bones. Why you could be as big as a bear! Then you wouldn't need that bow."

You're a fisher man! Or is it fisher woman? I'm not sure what the right word is, or are you a Dragon hunter!" The big man slapped his chest loudly. Karrha sighed softly rubbing one hand over her eyes before looking back up. "No I am quite well in health thank you." she said and decided not to explain farther. "as for hunting know I hunt what I can if I want to eat it but half the time I miss..." she said smirking quietly and picked up and drained the rest of her tea. "no I hunt men... on a battle feild." she said with a slight frown that remained as she stared down into her empty tea cup.

Papel blinked at the man but simply turned and headed back to the bar and pored the man some of the special and returned with it placing it down in front of him before slipping out into the room and began to clean up some of the empty mugs and tables.

"You hunt men?" The big fellow flexed one of his arms but then relaxed it as apparently it was just an instinctive move on his part. "What's the biggest one you've ever gotten?" Quickly he gnawed upon one of the bones before putting it upon the plate in front of him. His right thumb pointed back at his own face. "Ever gotten any as big as me? I've tried finding some but it's so hard sometimes. Not to mention humans just don't taste good." Cor waved his left arm at one of the women serving people. "Hey did I ask for a beer or did I just think I did!" His arm lowered as he continued to smile before making a serious face at Karrha. "Seriously did I say it out loud or just think it?"

"No you did say so." "Ey and I'm sorry I'll be right there!" Papel called picking up the last of the empty mugs and shuffling back into the kitchen. she was gone for a long moment and the sounds ot kitchen work going on before she slipped back out and set the beer in front of the man . "My apologys" she said before vanishing again.

The man ate and drank until the plate was clean and the mug empty. Though stopping short of licking the dish free of scraps, he made sure he got everything that wouldn't slip through the fork's prongs into his mouth. Breathing lightly in contentment, the man began to peer around tavern to see who was present. There were few he could pick out from factions, but there was a man he recognized from Archeos... he drew the hood down lower and the cloak itself tighter around his frame. No good to be recognized here...

Swiping away the liquid on his lips the man leaned forwards knocking over the container which had held his drink. He groaned loudly while holding his head. With his belly full of warm mead and meat, the cloaked man continued to eye the other patrons of the tavern, taking in the different conversations and faces that populated the wooden building. A few sat at the bar, two pairs in conversation. One pair was a large man and a girl, neither giving off powerful faction vibes. The other was a scaled being speaking to a younger-looking man. The former could be assumed to be of Aeregos: their upper class warriors looked like that, while the latter man was also anonymous.

The man's eyes continued their sweep of the room.

The man paused in his musings when the large man at the bar suddenly stood up and asserted himself a 'partay animal' in hopes of finding more conversation. The hooded man opened his mouth to answer but was silenced by the curious look on the large man's face. Blinking once, the figure closed his mouth and watched the man, waiting for him to either fall over or rejoin the world.

Dezeroth and Vvlore both looked at the drunk, looked to each other, looked back, and started laughing outright. With a gesture to a nearby chair and a mental command, Aeregos, it slid back, and the gestured toward it, not minding the slight howl of wind coming from it. "Have a seat, friend-" Vvlore started, "-We'll see who can drink the most, first, and by the end-" Dezeroth continued, "-We'll have out-partied the party animal!" Brevsin shook his head. "You'd think, though, that people would stop to consider that. I mean, we've got these massive armies, each of them marching to battles with enormous numbers of death. And every explanation I've heard so far is that it's for peace. As if they couldn't bring peace about by simply going home. Maybe applying a trade. Stopping bandits. Whatever it is they're good at. Hell, it'd be a better way of applying peace--There'd be less for people to take advantage of."

"Perhaps if too little land is exchanged the common man won't even notice this war in his lifetime."

He talks of peace as if it was a dream. Yet here we all sit... as if factionless and without a care in the world... the man thought, studying the duo. Brevsin shook his head. "They've noticed. At least, the common man of Scaravus doubtless has. A large stretch of their land was taken by Fieran armies. Ilean mountains, as well. I don't know how it fairs in the western section, but many people are suffering from this war in the east." A sigh, "And all because I fail to convince friend or foe that they don't need to kill to achieve peace..."

Vvlore shook his head. "No, it's not sweet. Not too sweet, anyway. Kinda...Fruity, I think, might be a good word to me. At least it is to me." Dezeroth grinned, "Besides, what's the fun in water, mm? "Well it would seem that if they did kill everyone else, there would be peace." Oko gave a wry smile. "War is war in the west. I can't really complain much aside from perhaps the rationing of food." He rubbed his stomach lightly. "I'd rather have a mouthful than and earful, or was it an eye sore? There was some saying but it escapes me at this moment."

"Naw naw naw, I remembur rumb. It makes my belly hurt like a cross eyed." The man gave into one his by now quite noticeable moments of silence before finishing the thought. "Sparrow, or somethin'. I don't even know." His eyes fell upon Dez. "What kind of animal goes cross eyed but is allegacorical?"

Eddren
10-31-2012, 03:21 AM
Dez blinked, "I dunno. What does allegacorical mean?" Considering he wasn't much of a zoo-ologist on the best of days, and certainly didn't know what that term meant, he was fairly certain it was alright to ask about something that sounded like a poetry technique. Vvlore chuckled and shook his head, but said nothing, waiting to hear the mans' reaction, before thinking for a moment, "An owl?"

Brevsin chuckled. A dark chuckle, for dark humor. "Well, order some food, then. And I suppose that's right, but they're the most likely to die." With a shrug, he continued, "After all, they're the one who'll be losing life or limb. Property, too. A lot of our soldiers were at least at one point family men, ranchers, farmers, woodcutters, chefs, brewers....It wasn't like we always had enormous armies."

His eyes were drawn to the windows through which he could see the great outdoors. "While our conversation has been enlightening sir I believe I might be seeking solace for some time. It looks well enough out that I may enjoy a stroll in quiet." The serpent placed a reasonable amount of gold coins beside his tea and plate while putting his cap back on. "Another time sir we can continue our talk. But for the moment I bid you farewell."

"Itsh like, has a deeper meaning." The drunk formed his hands into a cup and seemed to try and wiggle his fingers while extending them. "Like you dig into a bowl of soup to find worms inshide. Like der is something deeper in there." While lowering both of his arms snot began to run from his nose onto his mustache. "Except with words and art. Or was it booksh?"

Eddren

- - - Updated - - -

Brevsin nodded, watching briefly for a moment before returning to his tea. It did, however, give some insight to the way things were. Perhaps some of the war-loving nations should at least be reduced in size. That could limit their ability to harm others.

For a long while, the man simply sat and listened to the conversation between the scaled man and the other, silently betting that he was a Scaravian based on his way of talking and other key things. Eventually the two parted ways, the scaled one leaving the Dove altogether, which saddened him. He was quite the interesting character...

Meanwhile, the large man had succumbed to his drink and was passed out on the table. The hooded man chuckled quietly to himself, the scene quite amusing to him. His amusement was cut short when he was suddenly joined by a rather... unique individual. Sparsely dressed, she might have passed for a sensual figure if he wasn't quite aware of her Disgeran origins, even without her explicitly stating it. The aura she gave off stank of the southernmost faction, a stench he should know.

"I most certainly am not this.. Verminathras..." the man said quietly, the deepness of his voice making it hard to get to a whisper. BOOM

The doors to the dove opened wildly hitting the walls quite hard. The hooded figure walked dropping his arms from the position of pushing the doors so strongly. Another shuffled behind him quietly contrasting the amount of attention the former was, well, attracting to himself.

(please read with an atypical british accent)

'OI! And didja see the tail on 'er?! I'm tellin' ya Jasper she was the best ninety-four pieces of gold, I 'ave ever spent for a lady o' the night! And les not forget that I picked 'er pocket before she left to get it back. Hahahhaha'

The one called Jasper didn't laugh but rather pursed his lips together and pushed his glasses back up the ridge of his nose. In all honesty he didn't much prefer coming to such places, with all many of germs. Most places like this were...well...they were much too grimy for the young man. But, with Gyle off doing such dastardly things for Disgeran of late he didn't get much time to spend with his childhood friend.

The quickly took a seat at an empty table while Gyle continued to regale his adventures with a certain lady of the night, obnoxiously loud to boot. For a thief, or one generally sneaky altogether Gyle had quite a loud mouth on him.

'OI, my lovely lollies would'ja mind fetching mi and my good friend here sum' o' your finest ales?'

Jasper quickly interjected as he took off his glasses and cleaned them.

'Please...and could you rinse my mug out thrice times before putting the ale in it. I'm not quite good with.....germs you see. Not to worry though I'll pay extra for the service.'

'Bugger 'ere can't handle a wee bit of nature in his mug, hahahaha!'

"I'd have to decline," Garrett said, his head turning slightly towards the door that was opened quite violently in his opinion. "Besides I'm sure there is..." he turned his head back towards the 'woman', hood still low enough to hide his features. "... better prey about." "Good evening..." Garrett murmured, raising his head just enough that light was allowed into the hood. Gyle immediately burst into more laughter as the Disgeran tried to angle his friend.

'Gahaha, didja 'ere that Jasper she said ho! Gahaha!'

Jasper however had winced at the forwardness of the female like creature before him. The wink and sudden appearance of the full bosom had caused quite a uneasy feeling in the young man. Awkwardly Jasper regained his composure and began pointing at the female's chest struggling to find the right way to phrase his words.

'Excuse me, but...your...your chest..its well its rather exposed? And, and well...wisdom tells me that the flashing lures are never quite what you expect them to be....'

His body slowly turned and his hands moved to cover his peripheral view of the oddly old sex fiend.

Jasper's wide gaze tried to speak to Gyle but fell on deaf eyes as he only continued to laugh. Finally Jasper was moving his lips trying to get Gyle to read the message of his hate for places like this.

As the breath of the seductress made its way into his ear carrying her whispers Jasper jumped out of his seat. His scream piercing the air. He stumbled back until hitting another table and falling into a seat beside a scaly man.

'Oh quite fine, it was nothing really....'

Truthfully however, his side hurt quite a bit, but he had been so caught up in what was happening he hadn't noticed. Now that he was sitting and trying to relax again the pain was very poignant. 'Ta' think Jasp you were so close to that scaly man, if he is contagious. You'd be the prime recipient of such a sickness with all your cautious-like-ness.'

The pair nodded, before gesturing to one another. "Dezeroth-" Vvlore began, while the indicated mage finished with "And Vvlore." They finished, now, with "And we're glad ta meet ya!" Before leaning forward. "So, what's a man like you doing, hiding your identity from the world?" Dezeroth asked, before Vvlore followed up, "And why in such garb? Why, you look positively magical!"

Garrett nodded in acknowledgement of their names. At their combined question though, he started feeling a bit nervous about them. They had been a pair since he had come in, without a doubt, so he could only assume that they knew each other from before. That coupled with the magic told Garrett they were either Aeregosian, Scaravian, or Fieran, though he supposed he really only deduced that from the magic bit.

"I... prefer not to show my face to the masses," Garrett answered, taking note of the word choice. "This keeps prying eyes from assuming too much, you see... And I'm hardly what you'd call magical. I'd wager that's more of your bit, yes?" he countered, curious to know why these men were so intrusive.

"Magic's a bit more than a bit!" Dezeroth claimed, puffing out his chest even as Vvlore nodded, "But you've got that much right! Why not an illusion spell, though?" Dezeroth chimed in, now, "They're usually pretty cheap!" Vvlore elbowed Dezeroth out of the way as if they were competing, now. "Why, he could sell you one for ten gold or a favor!" Dezeroth gave Vvlore a shove back into his spot, "Well, maybe not. You'd need an artifact I could use to power it!"

Oko's right hand slapped his face in a slightly mocking manner. "Curse and a blessing, it all depends on the perspective sir." Leaning back into his chair the scaled man rested one arm on his leg while the other sat on the table. Each finger upon the table tapped against it making a decent amount of noise due to the sharp claws on the end of each. "But you need not worry about contagion. I've never known one to grow ill at my touch." The tapping ended as his hand flattened upon the wood tightly. "It's not as bad as it looks."

Garrett was taken aback by the sudden interest in... well, apparently selling him magic. It was almost amusing, but the cloaked man politely held up his gloved hands to decline. "I'm sure I'll survive without," he said, a light chuckle escaping his lips.

"If it's all the same to you, I'll stick to using steel," he continued, completing his statement. It was then that he picked up on something that was said towards the duo who had entered a bit earlier. He's from Disgeran? Garrett thought, eying Gyle cautiously.

Papel scurried around the inn once more picking up and cleaning. she had also cut the rest of the pig and laid it out on a table to cool, luckily it had not been burnt.
It was shortly after she entered the kitchen some up rawer took place two men had stood abruptly at one side of the room one pulling a rather wicked looking a knife and the other bracing themselves for the attack that was bound to happen.

Papel appeared as soon as the two had begun to wrestle with each other one keeping the knife from his throat the other doing his best to sink it into the exposed skin. others had gotten up in the way to either cheer them on or try and stop the two. ultimately it was stopped as a rather large kitchen knife hit the floor between the two and a unhappy Papel stepped into the semi-made ring. The two men who had been quietly dicing at the far end next to the door suddenly stop to watch intently, seemingly tens as they eyed the men around the small girl in case some one should attempt to attack her.

"What in blue blazes is going on here? Damin this better not be about that war!" Papel pulled the kitchen knife out of the floor boards frowning at the slight mark it left before pointing it, to close for comfort for the first man. "I'll take none of it here." she swung it around to point at the other who still clutched his knife making him eye it crossly. "And if this is your doing I'll spit you like I did that pig." Papel seemed serious, and she was. "So I suggest you put your butter knife away and sit down peaceful like." Papel did not move till both men had silently set down, at separate tables.

Turning she gave a hard glare to those who had gathered to watch. "I don't care from what faction you are from your all welcome!... you!" she brandished her kitchen knife again to point at an obvious Disgeran. "Your tolerated. But I will NOT tolerate fighting in this inn Is that absolutely clear?!"

Whatever the two men had been about to say was overruled by a ruckus that started up in a corner of the tavern, involving two men, one bearing steel. Garrett was about to get up to try and intervene when a kitchen knife flew between the two, silencing everyone involved and even those not. The proprietor, who had acted as his server when he had come in, had stepped in, quickly putting the two in their respective places.

Picking out the Heretic from Disgeran was an interesting move, but Garrett nodded slowly at the woman's final words. After she had gone on her way again, he couldn't help but chuckle lightly. "My, my. Quite the owner this place has, no?" He returned his gaze to the men that had sat with him. "Perhaps this place will be a little quieter now..."

Zasa notices the uproar, and laughs at how petty some men can be. She, of course, is above such savagery. Why fight and kill someone in public, when it was over quickly? No, she prefers to do it in private, and take her time, peeling off the flesh inch by inch, savoring the fear and screams of her victim. But what she also noticed, was the fine looking young proprietor. She had seen her before, but hadn't given her much thought, but, seeing her now, a shiver runs up her spine. How wonderful it would be to break her, to have her mewling for mercy that would not come.

She sidles over to Papel from behind, and places her slender hands on Papel's shoulders, and whispers in her ear. "Quite the show you put on, I was quite enraptured."

The mage hid the thought with a broad grin as he looked over at Vvlore, who had recently stated "But keep in mind, we're-" At this point. Dezeroth joined in, dual grins plastered on their faces, "Always happy to serve!"

Another denizen entered of average size wearing old looking torn clothing. Slightly visible beneath the garb was some sort of padding which appeared to give only minimal protection. A sort of dust or ash fell from the wrappings around his legs landing upon the man's Buskin's. Dark were the bits of visible skin that the others could see, around his eyes, and his hands. The Keffiyeh he wore covered his shoulders and neck as well as the majority of the man's face. Faded were the colors of every bit of clothing with only bits of dark blue visible in his Agal which seems to be the only fresh part of his attire. A gray scabbard hung from his hip with some sort of long sword sheathed within it. Both of his eyes focused on Dez then were drawn to the priest and Gyle before falling upon a lone table. Using the utensil even further he stabbed the meat and ate directly from the sharp metal. Oddly enough it did not resemble steel or iron, rather it looked as if it was a light gold. While his meal was devoured in a methodical way it seemed to vanish fairly quickly. Only bits of bone remained on the plate along with a few flecks of meat. The days grow shorter as the nights grow longer, the harvest has finished and plants seem to whither and die. It is autumn; a time of endings, change, and feasting!!

Here at The Painted Dove we like to celebrate when things get cold. We like to warm up with good company, good food, and strong drink. As such we have arranged a festival of sorts to celebrate the harvest! There'll be stalls selling food and drink (50% of proceeds to The Dove), stalls selling all manner of sparkles and trinkets, we've arranged for some players to tell tales and sing songs, and we shall even have a bonfire!

The meadows to the front of the inn are packed with tents and stalls for all kinds of diversions, the beach to the rear of the inn is prepared for a bonfire, with a stage for any who wish to perform. And the interior of the inn is decorated with lanterns carved from gourds and many a seasonal decoration.

Hibiki pulled the coat tighter around himself. "Thank you extremely for this. You can't imagine how difficult it can be to carry something like this when you hit a hot place. It's nice at the time being but soon enough you'll be sweating buckets." He let out a hearty laughter and slapped his knee.

Smash!

The door swings open wide as a woman saunters in. Her golden hair seemingly kindled contrasting the complete darkness she had venture out from. A slightly shocked expression smears her face as she realizes she is the only one there save those that work there.

It looks like everyone left early before night even blanketed the sky. Good! I don't want to have to put up with listening to conversations between you and others. Hey! Meeting new people is a good thing. Ra'Shor even said so...

The small bickering conversation ended as Kelsi sat on a stool and looked down at the bartender...or at least who she assumed was the bartender. She gave a soft smile before pursing her lips to speak. If one was quick enough they may have even caught the slight expression that swept over her as if she was trying to stop herself from saying anything at all.

'Good evening....um, it's terribly dark out tonight. Not even a star in the sky. Ah...sorry I was wondering what you might be offering for refreshment, and well do you ever have any minstrels or bards play in the evenings?'

Papel looked up as she cleaned a few stray mugs as the women looked at her. She caught the faintest trace of the expression but made no second thought of it before she replied. "Ay we do but he's laid up sick in one of the rooms, his voice completely deserted him to night." She said setting a mug aside for the moment. "We have some ail, fine beer and a few other beverages." she said putting her cloth in a small pocket at her side. "I have some left over duck, roast pig." she nodded to the hearth as she continued. "And some and a bit of seasoned chicken." she said dusting her hands off then and waiting for the women to tell her what she wanted.
