I'll need to remind you all that I did mention magical items in my rules for character creation: Do not push your limits (and my patience) with them or your next battle, you'll be running in naked with only a stick and a stone to defend yourself.

Well, that's why I thought of the map. It only really has practical value as a tool of command, as I can't very well bash someone over the head with it, and it's not like most of the rest of the enchanted equipment, which turns oneself into something extremely deadly.

Fire Emblem's a beautiful Turn-Based Strategy game ^.^ Think Chess but far more in depth. And that's hardly doing it justice.

Zelda's done it in Wind Waker and a little bit in Link to the Past (with the tiles to speak to Sahasaralera, or whatever his name was). I think there was more times, but I forget.

In any case, it would be useful for Kaizan to have a set of those for when he's flying around getting a bird's eye view on things and leaving his poor men on the ground to fend for themselves.

Okay, getting 'really nerfed' should never be a reason to leave a character behind. Brevsin got a major nerf to his mobility, that doesn't mean I'm going to just kill him off.

Hastur has 1 non rune power now. Zasa was already really powerful, a nerf wont make her weak or anything.

I have to agree with everyone here, aswell as the fact that I said that Zhao was the LAST time I'd let you kill off a character like that. This isn't a race to be the best, Cf, and it's about time you learn that. True, it's competitive, but you should know by now that here, your character doesn't have to be allmighty to make a difference.

So prove you're a man, swallow your pride, and just deal with the nerf.

a Djinn is an elemental spirit, that is typically servile, and is bound to an object. Notice I said typically. They are known for tricking or killing their 'master' on a whim.

Also, no, Dez doesn't really fit the theme. He does in the sense that it's a knowledge-based nation...And also the fact that he meets that trend of Generals being traitors...But for the most part, he has little Scaravus going around with him.

Scaravus has access to all the elements and their conglomerates. If you don't know what conglomerates are, they basically elements that exist out of two or more of the prime elements (earth, water, air and fire)
Conglomerates contain ice (water+air), lava (fire+earth), thunder (air+fire), etc..., but most importantly: Arcane (all 4 elements combined)
Yes, I have buffed Scaravus on the magic side BIG TIME.

Although, it's still too bad. Was hoping I could do something like taking the Runic Language that previously would have been for rituals and such, and instead made it so that it was inscribed onto equipment. It would be like any other spell Dez would have: It would be the same school and everything, it would just also happen to be a little more permanent.
Of course, it works like other spells, too. The more magic in it, the more effective. And when it finally runs out of Magic, someone who's proficient with Magic has to recharge it, meaning if the soldiers are separated from their mage, they're shit out of luck.

Wouldn't worry about it, P.K., by the Sixth chapter Karrha should have gotten 2-3 promotions, so she'll be considerably stronger for the next encounter. Same with Dez, he should have gotten at least one or two promotions in that time, plus a 3-chapter bonus, so he'll have access to some new tactics as well. Our ground forces'll be pretty damned spiffy once we face the Ekro, and as long as I can keep cranking out new ways to deal with our enemies, we should be fine.

I am working on plans for both battles, infiltrations, but also quests (bounty/treasure hunts)
I have been forced to work on the webshop for my mother's business, though, and it's been sucking up almost all my time.
CrestOfArtorias has also been working on that combat system I mentioned, and I really like what he's done so far, so you can be sure I will implement those in the next chapter, AND that Crest will be GMing some battles.

First thing's first: Stop with this 'you people' shit. We're not some group of foreigners who like to be alienated by simple wording.
Second: We tease you about it because, quite literally, just about every battle has ended with Kaizen(And now I take great and perverse joy in misspelling it,) killing some General.
Third: No, it's not that easy to spell their names right. MOST of us don't really have the patience to go look up the names, go back to our posts, and then put them there. Considering there's something like five generals each and six factions, that's a total of 30 NPCs at the LEAST that we have to keep track of, plus terminology for each of those Factions, PLUS each of the PC names, which right now, counting Imposter, you, myself, P.K, and Dough would come up to eight, not including Crest, which would bring it up to ten. Forty names we have to keep track of. I can hardly keep track of four. So before you start getting pissed at 'us people' for what you consider to be 'not too hard,' back yourself off and think about that for a moment.

Without a doubt, Imposter, the factions that have Specific Elemental magics are far more proficient at them than Scaravus's broad standards. Hence the phrase "A Jack-of-all-trades is master of None".

I've already stated that if Kaizan runs completely out of options (Aeregos falls and there are no potentials for recovering his faction with himself as the leader, + he knows who Dezeroth is if his faction comes to fruitiion), he'd likely join up. That's a lot of unlikely stipulations, though xD

For instance, Evocation is actually a fairly limited tree of Magic--I imagine Firanos can do some fairly unique things with fire.

Like has been said here before by multiple people, the Evocation part of the magic tree is indeed small, but for each facton that has a specialised element as evocation, their evocation will be much more powerful and they will have more abilities to use, while Scaravus is indeed a jack-of-all-trades, able to cope with any kind of evocation, but to a smaller extent than the other factions. The only magic type Scaravus has no access to, is divine magic, aka light and shadow magic.

There it is. He is, as stated, simply a sketch. Since he lost a lot of his smaller, more intricate details between scanning and being transcribed to ink, I'll point out the differences.
That line from his legs to his waist was lengthened afterward--And no, that wasn't on purpose. I simply didn't edit it out, because I hate digitizing artwork and work as little on it as possible.
The reason that the bangs over his right eye seem a little odd is because they weren't fully transcribed.
If you look very, very closely, on some segments you can see a little shaded portion--On his chest and in his hair. That was the silver coloring and the black pattern. He had full shading beforehand, but I had to use a scanner, not the Inkling, and I wouldn't have gotten a full recreation anyway.
At some points it looks sketchier than just sketchy--That's the scanner not fully catching the lines, even with the ink. Trust me. I went through Illustrator and had it reconstruct it as best it could, I'm lucky to have more than two disembodied eyes, some streaks of hair, and a pair of legs.
The belts look a little less 'belt-y' than they normally would, mainly the metal bits at the end no longer exist, and in some of them they are indefinite.

Basically, the real deal was a little too intricate to catch with a scanner, and reconstructing it myself isn't my forte.
