So amazingly awesome I had a stunning battle.

'Twas fun. ^^ Yeah, the flow dies out a lil' quickly for the previous system. Found that out with my fight in Dante v. Virgil, though of course, my opponent was better able to deal than I was. ^^;

but, I wonder two things. How was kirby able to create a shadow clone that cod take multiple hits and, how did the curse only work on that one clone? I don't remember that limitation. I'll work with it, but seriously, I'm confused.

Because you aren't meant to end fights before the post limit Cf :p
Also remember the other rules? The attacker decides where the hit lands but the defender decides the severity. Its entirely legal for him to say "Yes it hit but only hurt one clone"
(At least by my understanding. Pure wake up! XD)

Well, I couldn't end the battle there, it had to be interesting. When Kirby copied you, he got all of your major abilities. Clone, immortality, and the ritual.

Hey Zatory about your last post. Its actually my fault because I ran out of words but Quelaag's blade is super short and she extends it with fire magic to actually hit things. So if you want to snap the blade you's have to be basically standing on her spider body. Do you want to do that or redo your post?

Oh, I thought you actually pierced me with the blade it self. Do you want me to change it? You do have other abilities right?

Nah the bit that would hit you is made of fire. Its up to you if you want to change it or not, I just wanted you to be aware that if you were breaking her blade you'd be in really really close range of any of her attacks.
She can still do plenty without the sword.

Uh, zatory? you do know the skull marks only signify that the ritual is partly done, right? Hidan is always immortal. So, kirby can still be pink if you want.

OIY! I know, lore-wise, if Barbossa took one of the pieces, he'd be invincible. But, you did not list that as one of his abilities. So, therefore, he cannot use it.

Because it's not one of his abilities that he always has. It's just a temporary one that he can use through the environment. But if it troubles you a lot, I can remove it if you wish...

It's also not an opportunity only for Barbossa, but for anyone who visits Isla de Muerta. Maybe I should add a description of the gold in the arena thread...

yeah, for future battles. Why I chose this battle, is, unlike most of the combatants here, for the most part, they are normal humans. Adding the cursed gold skews the balance, and makes it nearly impossible for me to win, since, lore-wise, Haytham would not know about the gold.

And Kirby is still immortal for the fight. Hmmm. Interesting huh? XD how can it not end in a draw? Your character can't die and mine either, unless thrown into a volcanoe but there's non near. This fight was more comedic than violent.

So, Y'all, just a quick reminder; battles CAN end in an attack because the judge wraps it up and shows how the battle ends. And, to let you in on a little trade secret, it's easier to wrap up a battle that ends in an attack. And editing posts that are within posting perimeters, especially when a judge is on her way, can end kinda poorly.

You did him pretty well, I really pictured him while you were playing him. Only thing is that his attacks were VERY based on the attacks on Assassin's Creed 3.

Well, I tried using his fighting style to be authentic. I mean, if I say I'm Playing Haytham Kenway, and have him fight using Form V-Djiem So, it' not really Haytham Kenway, is it?

First thing's first, SQJ:
Maybe you need to ask some questions before you start judging, because there's a lot of shit in there that was obviously presumption.
First of all, maybe Cf was trying to make a plot, but I honestly was just using a fight.
Second of all, there were no major 'god-moves' on her part. Nightmare Magic. Key word there: Nightmare. Nightmares aren't real. Nor were ANY of her Nightmare Spells in the actual series. So, no, I wasn't 'using big moves.' Nor was I using an unknown spell. She's done ALL of that kind of stuff before, in your battle.
Third of all, the opening made no sense because I wasn't expecting it to be judged as some piece of deep literature. Maybe NEXT time you want me to write an opening that makes sense, YOU should add to the rules a clause about that.

I don't mind a little criticism, but what I do mind is BLATANT ignorance of what's actually going on while getting overly harsh criticism about it. I don't even mind losing. Hell, Nightmare Moon can lose ever battle all day long for all I care. But what I DO mind is that you seemed to actually throw EVERYTHING I've previously done with Nightmare Moon out the door while judging this.

The flow? I can kind of agree. It's hard to come up with creative and innovative counters to each situation, and the plot seemed to get in the way, which I found aggravating. I kind of wanted less talky-talky and more fighty-fighty, and near the end, it was just getting a little over-the-top. I tried attacking a few times, but they always seemed to be just ignored, so there wasn't much chance of me actually getting back to the fighting, so on that account, I apologize. However, the only way I'll be able to actually decide the COMBAT is if I'm allowed to face people like Dumbledore, which can't afford to just make impenetrable force-fields and force me to deal w/ it, so honestly, that was MY bad for not recommending a more balanced fight.

No, it's cool. It's just our characters were so different in style that it's hard for them to actually EFFECT each-other. So naturally we're going to take a hit to Flow. And the Plot? I just honestly want a fight. I want to see Vergil fight Satan, because that'd be awesome. I don't care if there's character growth. I just want to fight. If you can throw something in on the side, that gives them something to argue about at the same time? Well, verbal debates flavor physical fights. But if it gets too deep, well, then we're looking at a fanfic crossover, and that's just something I avoid.

Yeah, it did kinda get fanfic-y. But, I had pretty much nothing to work with. Nightmare Moon has a known personality, the GE doesn't. The events of 40k take place 10 thousand years after his 'death'.

N/M DOES have an established personality.
But you could have gone with the simple 'God's a Badass but also a total asshole' idea. It's pretty much a Trope, and I'm sure if I looked, I could find a Trope that's similar but differently named. It seems to fit WH30K anyhow.

the GE doesn't, but it does say he is selfless to the extreme (i.e. his current predicament) and he favors reason and science over superstition, hence the 'imperial truth'

Pffff Ahriman isnt scared by anything. I've already been planning the battle in my head, how to dodge your attacks and how to fight back. If you're read the Ravenor trilogy the psychic battles in that are what Im hoping to do.

Not neccesarily. If Abaddon could take Terra the warbands would be united behind him by respect and fear. Then they'd have enough war enemies to keep them moderately distracted from killing each other.

Maybe. but, Khorne and Nurgle would be the destruction. Khorne, with his insatiable bloodlust, and Nurgle with his desire to see everything rot. Hell, if he conquers terra, Tzeentch might want Abaddon replaced for 'change'

I think you need to read up on the gods. Khorne's followers are not all Kharnes. The normal worshippers of Khorne (who arent zerkers) are sane and can follow orders. Even the zerkers can control themselves. Its only in battle that they go crazy. Nurgle doesn't just want rot and decay of everything, he needs humanity too much (all the chaos gods do). He wants to spread his plagues and there are plenty of alien races to spread them too. And thats highly unlikely of Tzeentch. He doesnt change things for the sake of it, he has his endless plot to plan.

Maybe for ordinary soldiers but definitely not for a champion of undivided chaos who just completed the goal of the chaos gods.

Its just means you worship chaos a as whole rather than a single one of the gods. You pray to all 4, thus are unable to receive the mark of one but you have more options as you arent restricted by your god.

No he's not undivided, he's still in the thousand sons.

He played a massive role in the thousands sons part of the heresy. He made them what they are now, sorcerors and automatons. As for the heresy itself its hard to tell at the moment. Due to the black library's inability to get anything right I cant be sure if the thousand sons as a legion actually take part in the battle at Terra.

That's hard to judge. The black library books aren't true canon (for good fucking reason) so the bullshit they came up with the condemn the thousand sons isn't necessarily what happened. In the end it comes down to they disobeyed the Emperor and they got what they should've seen coming.

He's not yet. They've just started the heresy missions though, so Horus is statted out if you want a good thing to base him off. Obviously though the Emperor wont be statted out until the very last mission which may take awhile.

Memories that smut characters have.
What memories should smut characters have? Should they have memories at all? What should their memories be.

If there's one thing that all SMUT characters have in common. They all have pasts, some are the detailed histories best attributes to being the main characters in their said. Others are the simpler and more basic backgrounds of temporary characters.

These backgrounds rarely intersect but they have before, a strong example being Dante Vs Vergil. But what of characters who just should not even know each other? What should happen to them what should they remember? I guess the basic thought would be: "what ever they fucking please."

But maybe we should take it further.

SMUT is a world that pulls from every single world there by creating it's own world. SMUT works hard to maintain your characters history, maybe your characters should do the same. The SMUT player should take on the obligation to make their character Not only as strong as possible, as realistic and enjoyable as possible but as memorable as possible. Your character should remember where they are in smut where they have been in SMUT and the effects of battles and arenas they have been a part of. Which is why I'd like to ask you the fine members of SMUT what you feel should be happening in the memories of your characters.

Should they know the existance of enviroments a player owns, relationships with team-mates, should their team mates be considered team mates at all.

Should there be addition extras that (ONLY advanced ranked members) should be allowed, like special techniques that they acquired through battle? Is that too much too complicated?

I like the thought of characters having memories of their previous SMUT battles and so on. The special techniques, though, sounds like it's over-complicating things.

But it might be an interesting tool for the high ranked who've mastered the simpler aspects of the game already.
It might tie in with hot arenas.

I just don't like the idea of someone having an advantage over someone else. Isn't the point of SMUT that anyone can beat anyone?

Of course, it would be absolutely even, as usual. You'd just have an extra power that your character wouldn't normally have, it wouldn't be greater than the usual ones in any way.

Well I've been thinking about that and I think with people keeping their stories and histories with their battles each character and the over all SMUT experience will be come stronger as alliences and rivalries outside of SMUT start to join with Rivalries within the character's mindsets.

You're supposed to be stuck on a challenge because it means you'll more likely have to burrow or pick your characters more carefully.
