Introductions:
The troops of Firanos were still partly in the bliss of victory after having pushed the Scaravians out of Talos successfully, with the help of their demigod. This same demigod was currently overlooking the warcamp the Fieran troops had set up, nestled among the ruins on the coastline of Talos. The troops were however no longer celebrating, as they knew that yet another victory was drawing closer. A victory against the shadows from across the sea. With the recent victory in mind, they seemed assured that almost nothing could stop them.

Ra’Shor simply gazed onwards. He knew far better than these mortal tools of his father. And yes, as the celebrating seemed to slowly die out, as ominous horns began to blow from across the mist-coated ocean. All eyes immediately set for the distant horizon. Everyone immediately began to wonder if this victory was indeed going to be this smooth. The darkening fog was seemingly calling out to the men with its horn sounds. The demi god nodded firmly, before leaping down in between the soldiers. “Warriors! Servants of my father! The shadow seeks to come for us, for you, for Firanos. These ancient foes are not even worthy a stain on our blade however! I know these beings. My father was among those who banished them into the shadows!” Nobody knew the tale the demigod was telling, but they honestly didn’t care all that much. On the contrary, they currently were willing to believe anything, if only it would give them hope. The demigod continued. “We shall follow my father’s example, and banish these fiends to the shadows they crawled out of. For Firanos!” The demigod called out, before the troops answered in unison, their voices echoing over the wastes.

Sneaking along the cliffs dotting the edge of Talos, which was in the process of being claimed by the Fieran soldiers, various swift and masked figures dashed around, taking in positions, staying out of sight of any enemy. Further hidden amongst the cliffs, was the main Scaravian strike force, smaller than the regular army, but they were going to use their own advantage of stealth and surprise. Seraimoiron was with them. The lightning wielding warrior slowly breathed in and out, peering around to his forces, before turning to his forces. “Alright men. We lost this area to Firanos, but we aren’t going to let this slip, are we?” He then raised his voice further. “Listen up! The Fieran forces are still accompanied by that demigod thing, but the shadow across the sea should allow us a chance to crush their forces between hammer and anvil.”

“We will divide into two groups! The first strike group will come with me! We shall spearhead the assault and flank the Fieran troops while they are busy getting their hands dirty with whatever lurks in those shadows. Our goal is to take out any and all magi. They are their greatest weapon. Take away their fire support, and Firanos is a sitting duck!” He took a moment to let the plan sink in. “The second group was sneak further along the cliffs and assault the passage the Fierans used to first assault Talos, cutting them off from their home land. By the time they arrive, their magi should be close to taken out. This should allow us to overwhelm their forces. In the meantime, their army will be weakened by these shadow beasts, but those shadow beings will be weakened aswell. We should be more than able to take them out once Firanos has been dealt with. Anymore questions? If not: Take your positions. We strike when Firanos engages in battle!” With that Seraimoiron divided his forces 60/40. The largest group he took with him, while gesturing the smaller group over to roam through the cliffs.

Dezeroth positioned himself with the larger group, standing smack dab in the center of a group of Scaravians. His job, of course, was to ensure that everyone here survived. Considering he'd be facing one of the largest groups of Fire Magi he'd ever faced....Twisting the ring on his finger, he looked toward the sky. Do I attempt to manipulate their conjured fire, dissipate it that way, or perhaps...Well, why not both? He was, of course, a master of Arcane Duality. Why stick to just one plan? Staring forward, he prepared to march out with his contingent, hoping against hope that they wouldn't face too much resistance from the Fire Magi. While he was sure he could take them, bringing his powers up to face against them fully would be detrimental when he faced their newest foes.

Karrha listened to Seraimoiron speak but she was not so sure it would be as easy as he claimed, these shadow things gave her good reason to be on edge and she doubted weekend or not they would be that easy to conquer. as the group was divided she slipped to the back hefting her new bow, she would be as she always was in the back with the archers and those who fought from a distance. She could see Dezeroth not to far ahead but she didn't follow, no doubt if he needed her he would find her.

As it was, as she watched him, she could not help but think of what more they where planing if this succeeded. taking a breath she followed her chosen group over the cliffs as she pulled out an arrow and notched it. Once this started all hell was going to brake, that mist... it put her on edge...

With the Fieran troops preparing their defenses, and the Scaravians taking in their positions, all was silenced at the sound of an omnious horn blowing in the distant fog, which rapidly spread over to the shoreline. Ra'Shor chuckled as he launched a blazing fireball into the fog. "Come then, vile shadows! Come meet your demise!" The soldiers of Firanos braced themselves, preparing for battle, spearmen taking their positions, while archers and magi prepared themselves.

Seraimoiron rose his hand as a gesture for the group to stay low, taking in slow, patient breaths as he gazed onward at the Fieran defenses, before turning to his troops, making silent gestures, sending one quarter of his forces to flank from the left, while sending another quarter to flank from the right, and gesturing the remaining half to stick with him, before his eyes were drawn to the fog.

"Death... has... come..."

The omnious voice echoed through the fog, as hisses and howls filled the air, the temperature dropping rapidly, until finally, the silhouettes of tall, lean figures appeared, as dark, masked beings came rushing out, howling and hissing as they raised their weapons above their head. Donning large, white masks, the beasts seemed to have no fear charging into the line of soldiers.

http://dscanio.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/speed_paint01.jpg

"Destroy them!" Ra'Shor's thundering voice sounded, as he blasted series of fireballs into the charging beasts, who simply dissipated into the fog, to be replaced by yet another. The screams of men filled the air as the beasts' weapons finally met flesh and steel, silently slaughtering any who was unlucky. The Fieran defenders held their line, spears shoving forward to stop the assaulting beasts.

Seraimoiron looked onward. "What are those things...?" He gazed at the creatures in awe, before shaking his head as he snarled. "The time is now! Strike, Scaravus!" With that, Seraimoiron grasped his blade and charged forward, into the row of unexpecting archers, cleaving down a number, as his army began to rush into the troops and overwhelming them. Within an instant however, the magi a bit further began conjuring waves of fire to wash over the men, while swordsmen came rushing in to meet the flanking Scaravians. "Leave none standing!"

Dezeroth did not have time to form the blood into its' plasma form and simply use pure water. Raising his hands, he shouted first "Blosmaqueo'Specicle! Firano'Specicle!" With a wave around the group, the bloodshed turned to their advantage as sheets of blood rushed to surround them. It stank, of course, but might at least alleviate the fires. In addition, though the Mage did not know how well it would work, his second spell was woven around the sheets of fire themselves, aiming to wrap them about the barrier so as to better disperse the heat, and perhaps take the load off of his own magical stores.

Karrha's eyes narrowed at the voice, the sight. "What are these...." she muttered before Glancing down from her position. to see that her people where already beginning to move. taking a breath now she raised her already notched arrow and aimed. with the wave of fire, and then blood, which was sickening in her sight she waited for an opining as the rest of the archers around her did before letting loss with the first sight of.

The arrows rained down on the fighting, mostly aiming at the magi themselves and some with in the midst of the actual battle. still those shadows persisted and even the Firano's power did not seem to phase them. they would dissipate and then simply reform, what where these? and how do you fight a shadow? she grimaced she had a feeling this may be a hard battle ahead, and even more so. perhaps however it would have been wiser to fight with rather then against Firanos at this time but that thought could be seen in the very wrong light.

Notching a third arrow Karrha moved to another position quickly aiming and releasing with a soft breath. What ever the outcome of the battle she would fight it as she did in the Ilean Mountains.

The surprise assault caught the Fieran troops off-guard, but as they were beginning to retaliate, Ra'Shor caught wind of it. "Foul scum... Beat back these beasts! I will deal with the Scaravian insects!" With that, Ra'Shor dashed off to the army's flanks, roaring flames in his wake.

The mixtures of blood anf fire created a nausiating smell of crusted blood. While some of the magi were struck down, other decided to handle it differently, launching series of napalm up in the air to rain down upon the Scaravian assailants. Seraimoiron snarled, lightning surging through his blade as he lashed out around him, roaring out as he cleaved any who came too close aside.

On the seaside of the battlefield, the fog continued to spread, slowly consuming the armies awaiting them as the masked beasts continued their assault. The fog could be seen spreading along the cliffs aswell, threatening to consume both Fieran and Scaravian alike.

On the frontier where Scaravus met Firanos, Ra'Shor finally arrived, in a blaze of fury, sending violent waves of fire washing over the field, taking out a multitude of scaravian warriors with one blow. "Begone, you insects! You have no place here!" Seraimoiron managed to just barely evade the raging flames, snarling. "Archers! Focus fire on the demigod! Corporal, wait for an opening to assault him!"

Dezeroth nodded, lowering his hands. He had done what needed to be done; the distance had been closed, and their forces still retained their strength. Perhaps they would be able to succeed where so many other charges had failed. "Of course." He watched the man warily, before stating, in a rather decided manner, "Sir, I think we may want to lure him into the fog. He's in such a battle-state that, if he were to continue fighting like that, he may be able to hold off our mysterious foe while we make short work of their magi." What he didn't say, of course, was that he had no definite way to do this, except perhaps to... "Do we happen to have any among our forces who can manipulate something like, say...Sand?"

Karrha heard Seraimoiron shout for the archers turning the locked onto Ra'Shor but there was a warning behind her and she turned to see the mist coming up the cliffs. "Ashs..." she hissed. They could not very well focus on one, and the mist seemed to be a more pressing matter. "Focus on the mist find a way to hold it back we must no be pushed into the field or were sitting lizard the hawks!" she growled. Doing as she did last time she pulled a few men out, 7 this time and moved off to a better posits to fire from.

Pulling out 4 arrows she stuck them into the sand at her feet and notched a fifth drawing, aiming, breathing and releasing. shortly after the other 7 did the same at the demigod. Even as her focuses was here part of her was well aware of the mist at their sides. dangerous they where begin flanked now and if one thing was not taken care of soon then they where going to have a very large problem on their hands.

Seraimoiron glanced at the corporal, shaking his head disappointed. "No. We have none. We will have to do with our standard ground forces." Seraimoiron snarled, raising his blade as lightning curved down to strike his weapon, empowering it, before sending a raging arch of lightning dashing over the field, cleaving down a number of mages.
With a loud roar, Ra'Shor bursted up in the air, before crashing down in between the Scaravian soldiers. All the arrows aimed at him seemed to burn to a crisp before they touched him, laughing out as his landing was like a comet impact, following by waves of fire washing around him, blasting the Scaravian soldiers off of their feet with relative ease.

The fog knew even less mercy however, as it continued crawling onto the beach, spreading out rapily, as now the masked beasts came forth from within the cliffs even, howling out as their weapons were raised above their head. The masked beasts came charging out towards the Scaravians now aswell, catching both the fire magi and the scaravian assassins in their charge, as the brutal beasts sought to bring their weapons down upon the foolish mortals that sought to defy them. The temperature could be felt dropping even further, as breath turned to fog aswell. Firanos was caught between hammer and anvil, but it's seemed like the hammer was going to seek and crush the anvil in the process.

Dezeroth smiled, "Nevermind. It looks like the mist has moved to us. We need to double our lines, make them out of assassins, and put them between Ra'Shor and them. Have them advance into the mist, then disappear. If we can pull that off, the mist will surely take care of the man, and likewise the man will hold off the mist. In the mean time, I'll see about protecting our men from the very thing we seek to use." He raised his hands now, shouting to the sky "Aere'Specicle!" Of course, with this, he sought to bring about a spherical wind, so as to clear the surrounding area of any precipitation.

Karrha shivered, this was back in the snow covered mountains all over again she thought as her breath misted and she cursed. she was not dressed for the cold here damit. and their arrows where doing nothing to the demigod. growling she made the other archers hult. "Don't waist your arrows we wont be getting through him. looking back she growled more at the sight of the mist. "Right now... thats our biggest problem. We cannot afford to be run out of this position but we can't afford to be taking in that... thing."

Hefting her bow once more she took her two last renaming arrows that she had stuck into the ground and moved back to help her men with this shadowy mist. however she didn't dare get to close before she stopped notching one of the arrows and letting it loss at one of the figures there.

Seraimoiron glanced over at Dezeroth, just barely dodging a fireball that was flung by one of the magi, which was soon met by a burst of lightning blasting him away. "There are no assassins in this main force. Our assassins went along with the second group to cut the Fierans off from their ho-..." A terrifying, screeching spread through the area, as all men who were not locked in combat halted in their tracks, glancing about.
While Ra'Shor was too busy slaughtering a single Scaravian soldier, Seraimoiron's attention was diverted to what was around them. The masked beasts still kept on coming, but the fog that had begun to surround the two armies seemed to bear other beings within its shrouds. "What... is that noise...?"

Everything began to grow darker by the second: the fog, the air, the sand, ... The only one that seemed hardly bothered by it was Ra'Shor, until he roared out loud enough for all armies to hear. "Come out, wretches! I have faced you before! I will destroy you once again!" The flaming demigod seemed to be calling out to the mist, as black shadows seemed to rush through, before suddenly a faceless, pitch black creature jumped forth, with long, blood red manes hanging from the back of his head. The being seemed to gaze with its non-existing eyes straight at the collection of Scaravian soldiers, aswell as Ra'Shor, a putrid long tongue sliding out of it's mouth, running along its misshapen teeth.

http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2012/176/5/8/fantasy_shadow_dweller_by_explicandum-d54vtgt.jpg

As this one appeared, so did many more, crawing out of the shadows, gazing longingly at the hapless souls to feast upon. For a long while, they sat in place, silently, only the sound Fieran troops clashing with masked warriors filling the air. Slowly, the first one of them let his mouth slide open, letting forth a disgusting breathing sound, its tongue rolling out again, before it jumped into action without a warning. The beings moved at blinding speed, leaping onto soldiers, but instead of ending their life in a bloody mess, the beasts' maws opened up, as the men their very being seemed to be sucked out, their pained screams were silenced as their soul seemed to be what the beasts would feed on.

Seraimoiron snarled, gripping his blade as he charged forward, striking down one of the beasts with his lightning-charged blade, slicing it in half. However, as both halves lay on the ground, the beast's parts seemed to crawl towards eachother, molding together.
Ra'Shor surrounded himself in flame, keeping the beasts at bay, grinning. "I know you too well, you vermin..."
One of the beasts leaped out of the mists, grasping onto one of the archers that was with Shani, draining him of his essence, before flinging the lifeless corpse at the group and seeking to go for a next prey.

Dezeroth noted Ra'Shor's actions. They seem to fear fire... He thought idly, before nodding. "Seraimoiron!" He called, "Use your lightning to set anything nearby ablaze! They fear flames!" Already Dezeroth was looking around for a good object to set fire to, when he noticed Karrha--In her current position, she'd quickly be overwhelmed. Archers could never fend these things off with arrows...Wait. Arrows! "Karrha!" He called out, cursing for a moment as one of the beasts lurched toward him, "Fieranos!" He called out, flames exploding into existence in a manner unusually violent. The ring, of course. "Karrha, get over here!" He cried out, ignoring the observation, "I have a plan!"

Realizing that hearing him would be practically impossible over this din, he elected to run after her instead, stopping just long enough to hack at the beast, still trying to circle the fire. As he hacked, he called out "Bol'Fier!," which caused the fire he had conjured to simultaneously shoot toward the being. He turned, then, not giving time to regenerate, and ran for his ally. "Seraimoiron, I'm going to enhance our long-range support! If I succeed, we may indeed live another day!"

Karrha Leaped to the side tumbling away from the body that had been thrown at them, she was horrified, at what she had just witnessed but she had no time to daly they where fast, deadly fast and the arrows didn't seem to have to much effect on them. she growled picking herself up and raising her voice to the men around her. "Stay back! stay out of reach don't let them touch you!" this warning was not really needed and harder followed then said but the men did their best. scrambling out the way scattering here and there as the beasts came after them. she dodged to the side notching another arrow with a growl though she didn't really have the chance to shoot it off as one of the archers called to her, or just called out.

She glanced over to see that they where having just as much trouble down in the open as they where here if not more. tisking irritatedly she twisted around again letting an arrow off at another creature that was bearing down on one of her men. "Ash's what are these thing." she muttered. She spotted a figure that was quite recognizable to her and frowned faintly turning with another notched arrow and launched it to a beast somewhere past him. "Are you insane!?" she shouted at him pulling one of her throwing knifes and hurling it at another creature from the mist. It seemed to her, and she may be wrong that most the attention of both party's was on the mist creatures. and she dared not take her eyes off them to long unless she was caught unaware of one baring down on her.

Seraimoiron snarled, trying to find anything of use to help out, before grunting as he looked over at Ra'Shor, realizing what his tactics were. "Corporal! Find what we need to scare these things off! If I don't stop Ra'Shor, he's going to destroy us together with these fiends!" Snarling, Seraimoiron charged forward towards the demigod, sending lighting surges towards him. The demigod seemed hardly phased by it, grinning as he rushed towards Seraimoiron to smash a flaming fist into him, which was just barely blocked by the man.

In the meantime, the Fieran troops seemed to slowly lose control of their end of the battle. In the back, however, the mist warriors and shadow crawlers kept on coming.
One shadow crawler was moving so blindingly fast that it rushed even through a Scaravian soldier, who gasped out, before dispering into nothingness. The fiend could be heard with a hissing laugh, his sights locked on Dezeroth as he tried to approach the man from the back, leaping into the air, before trying to smash down onto the man, latch onto him and siphon his life essence away.

Another shadow crawler had just finished feasting on a soldier, as it rushed onwards, it's non-existant eyes locking onto Karrha, as it seemed to speed up more, creating a shadowy blur in its wake, before seeking to leap forward onto Karrha, pin her down and scream at her face with its haunted face only an inch away from her own, trying to siphon out her being aswell. Desperate, one archer loaded up an arrow to try and shoot the beast off of Karrha, were it not for the blade of a mist warrior that came ripping out of his chest.

The beast would have gotten Dezeroth, had he not twisted at just the right time to allow Karrhas' flying knife to hit it straight in the face. Continuing to pound across the battle, he murmured "Fieranos!" , pointing toward Karrha. A flame appeared in front of her bow. "Ignite your arrows using that!" He shouted, cursing for a moment as he ducked and slashed horizontally at one of the beasts. Darting to the right, he slashed again before continuing. "Fire them at the shadow creatures!" Picking up a discarded shield, he ran to the relative safety of the Archers. "Continue to fire," He instructed quickly, before setting it down.
"Be'projimage animus," he breathed. An intense, yellow light bounced off of the shield, lighting up the Scaravian Scorpion in the air. He was unsure of if this would work as a beacon to soldiers, but perhaps those soldiers who desperately needed to regroup would see this as the sign they were looking for. Breathing out, he stood. "...Need...Need someone...Assist." He managed to say out, "...Not Archer...Next...Infantry...Tell him...Help. Is...Allowed...To disturb...Meditation." With that, he knelt down, hands on knees as he concentrated with all he had on those two spells. Desperately, they needed this plan to succeed. The Mage had an idea of how to get them off the ground, but they needed to hpld off the beasts, and they needed soldiers to assist them with the second stage.

Karrha stepped back from the flame that appeared in front of her but nodded prepared to do so, but right then she whipped around aware that something was gaining on her but not knowing exactly how fast, she hit the ground hard with a gasp as she hit the hard stones underneath her. She could feel something being pulled out of her... actuly she could feel herself being pulled out of the body. Groping around she felt around a moment all the while struggling against the creatures draining, though she could feel her self weakening. She found one of her dropped arrows and clutched it before waving it up to where she knew the flame was the moment it light she swung it around with as much force as she could muster so wave the flames in the things face to ward it off before stabbing it in the face meanwhile pulling back her legs and placing them firmly on what should have been the things chest to thrust it back away from her.

From there she scrambled up, awkwardly from the way that her muscles felt like water and her bones felt like small twigs, it was a little painful actuly but the more distance she put between herself and that thing she felt a little stronger. notching another arrow she quickly caught it on fire and fired it again at the thing, with far more force then she could have before with out her bow. she tisked glancing over at Dezeroth, she had not caught anything that he had said but upon Inquiring one of the archers she could only shake her head. She was not going anywhere till she fully recovered and even then she might not. she ordered two other archers to stand around the mage along with herself shooting off what they could at the beasts around them to keep them back with the flames they currently had.

Seraimoiron and Ra'Shor got locked in combat, swordstrikes and flaming punches being exchanged. Their duel reaching pretty a stalemate, while the surrounding soldiers were busy fending off eachother, and the horrific mist beings.

With the large scorpion forming in the sky, many of the scaravian troops that had overextended retreated back towards their line of archers, doing their best to fight off any foe coming their way, and forming a living barrier between them and the archers.
Even though, with the flaming arrows, it seemed to take the shadow crawling fiends longer to regenerate, they still came back in the end, but at the moment, they couldn't push on further.

However, one fiend suddenly stopped midcharge, it's faceless stare gazing towards the defending archers, its mouth slowly opening up with a sickening, hungering sound. He then rose himself up and cried out, its hollow scream echoing over the plains, before many more of the shadow crawlers halted their attack, all crying in unison with the first, creating a symphony of screams and howls. Although the screams themselves were not really a threat, they did begin to affect the morale of the soldiers, who were looking around as if expecting the worst. And right they were, as the shadow crawlers all began rushing together, heading towards the fiend that began screaming first, leaping onto him and fusing with him. As more leaping on, shapeless, howling shadows began to rage around the beast, as it continued to scream and howl more and more. Eventually sight on the beast was completely obscured as the storm of raging shadows slowly grew bigger and bigger.

One of the archers had completely halted fire as he looked at it. "W-what... are they doing?" He seemed to turn his attention to the mage with his question, as he felt this man knew how to combat these things.

As the men had gathered, one of them had come to disturb him, simply not knowing what he was doing. Still, the Mages' eyes had shot open. "...Point..." He grabs hold of the mans' hand, not all that roughly, but still with authority, and points it toward the fire, "...Touch it...Then...Say Meragia Magica." When the man hand followed his orders, quickly pulling his hand back as he'd been burned, Dezeroth stood. Looking over at the man, he said simply, "Sit down and close your eyes. That may be a low level fire spell, but in your state, it'll be all you can do to power such a spell."

He looked over at the things, "Well," He said calmly, "They seem to be fusing. Start shooting the individual ones, maybe we can alleviate the ending size." He sighed for a moment, thinking. Walking up to one of the other soldiers, he grabbed him, pointing back to the shield. "You're now my apprentice. Don't bother arguing; I need all of my magic freed up in order to have any chance against this foe." He pointed toward the shield, "Crouch down and touch that. Close your eyes, and whisper 'Meragia Magica.' " He did not wait to see if the man followed his orders.

Turning to the rest of the soldiers, he regarded them silently for a moment, "Men. I will not lie to you. That thing will be a true monster. Do not worry; I am a mage of some power. I will combat that creature with all my might. However, while I'm fighting, I expect that we will have other threats to contend with. Therefore...I want you to fortify this zone." He gestured to the ground before him, "Dig in. Make trenches, waist-deep and extending for ten feet." He took a step back, pointing to the ground he had just been on, "Take the dirt and build walls. Thick. Up to your chest." He pointed toward a dead soldier in the distance. "Spears; plant them in the trenches, facing outward from the wall. Anything that wants to get at us will have to impale themselves to do so." Finally, he pointed to Karrha, "And your Commander. She will keep order among you. Do as she says. Do not disturb me; it will take all my concentration for this one task."

With that, he took a step back, flourishing mightily as he prepared for a grand spell. "Aque'Misrecipitae, Clofusa'spek, friregos. The mist around them swirled as he held his hands above his head. At first, there was nothing, except the disturbance in the local weather. Then, it began gathering above him, forming slowly into a spike. It was jagged, it was cruel-looking...And it was growing. The Mage fell to one knee, gritting his teeth. I won't be able to hold the spell on my own strength. With his mind, he reached into the folds of his robe, where pockets of magic were held. When the energy supply for the spell ran low, he popped one, allowing the magic to flow into the spell. There were countless pockets, gathered over years of meditation, but each one was precious, and the Mage gritted his teeth at using but one.

Karrha was quite taken back as Dez pointed to her. "Commander?" she voiced with a frown, but it did not seem he was listening as soon as he went about his own work, even with the amazement of what was appearing before them she shook her head turning to them. "Have little time to argue." she mumbled "Do as he says we have to take what ever chance we have to win this thing even if its only to keep our lives and I'll be daft if I don't give it a try." she said still frowning fiercely. "Now I'm not your commander but a comrade, But I'll see this through with as many of you back at your homes! Now lets turn those into white feathered porcupines." She said feeling more of her strength return to her.

Here she pointed out a few able bodied men and women, some not wounded, not fatally and she was able to heal for the most part, others she simply treated their wounds as quickly as she could before sending them on work, most of the archers she already had lighting arrows and sending them at any individual one they could manage to shoot she asked very bluntly for the troops to keep close if anything came their way and to fend it off as well keep it away from the working mage but not to disturb him unless it was more dire then like and death. there was nothing else for it she took up her bow lighting and arrow up and set it off into the only ones she could get aim on. if this didn't work then nothing might.

The men awkwardly followed the orders, trying their best to get the required fortifications set up in time, the soldiers around Karrha and Dez were juggling between setting up their defenses, and fighting off the oncoming hordes. Unable to make the trenches as deep and the walls as high as Dez desired, the men were all forced to focus their attention upon the increasing number of mist warriors.
The sounds of battle that were echoing in the distance seemed to have vanished. It confirmed what could have been expected. The Fieran army was overwhelmed and has already fallen back to defensive positions. A few Fieran soldiers could still be seen struggling to get to safety.

The only Fieran that was obviously not fleeing, was Ra'Shor, battling Seraimoiron still. With a loud snarl, and upon noticing his men retreating, Ra'Shor made a decission he did not like. After deflecting another one of Seraimoiron's slashes, he blasted the ground in between, blowing his foe back. "We will settle this score another time, worm!" With that, the demigod rushed off, leaving a fiery trail in his wake.
Pondering wether or not to try and chase him, Seraimoiron made up his mind and rushed to the only position that was as of yet being succesfully held by any side.

Leaping over the wall, Seraimoiron now stood alongside Karrha and Dez, sending a curving lightning arc from his blade, blasting down a number of mist warriors. "Whatever that mage is planning... It better work!"

The massive gathering of shadow seemed to be reaching its pinnacle, as the shadows suddenly opened up like wings, revealing dark, haunting figure inside, with flaming red eyes. The beast seemed to consist of pure shadow, as it let out a horrific screech.

http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs35/f/2008/289/b/0/Shadow_Demon_by_BenWootten.jpg

The massive being gazed over at the defensive position, before extending his wings and smashing them shut before him, sending a dark, shadow-filled wind washing over towards the defenders. Once the wind would strike over them, it would feel as if the very breath was sucked out of their lungs. With that done, mist warriors, shadow crawlers and the shadow demon alike made their advance.

Dezeroth felt it, too, and knew that this was the time to strike. His eyes snapped forward, as did his hand. The gigantic ice-spike snapped forward like an arrow, aiming itself directly for the chest of this shadow-beast. "Leave that creature to me!" He cried, "Archers, fire on the shadow-crawlers! They'll have to jump over the walls in order to strike! Soldiers, ensure the Mist Soldiers do not overrun this location!" He then pointed at the ice-spike, taking a deep breath before focusing his magic through the ring. "Fieranos!" He cried, "Fieranos Oconsutae'Friregos!" Fire lept all around the spike, melting it. It hissed, but the fire simply continued inward, consuming it, and, hopefully, consuming it until it entered into the shadow-demon. When finally the entire spike had been melted, and all that remained was a flaming replica, he gestured upward and outward, fire exploding outward before dispersing. "Hopefully..." He panted, "That will be enough..."

Karrha gave Seraimoirona glance. "We can only hope." she replied but when the thing finished forming she hesitated her firing. "And let hope not fail ups now..." she said after a moment. her attention whipped around to Dezeroth listening to what he had to say. just moments after Karrha had to lean over to catch her breath coughing for a moment "...The hell was that?" she gasped. the wind... she glanced around to see several of the men doing the same. she glanced up to see the spoke was now turning into fire she had nothing else to do but what she did seconded best. re-notching her arrow she lit it and shot it off into the on coming shadow crawlers.

The shadow beasts and mist warriors continued their assault, roaring and howling out, but for now, were succesfully being held back by Seraimoiron, Karrha and the remaining Scaravian troops.

The large, burning ice projectile sent out by Dezeroth seemed to hit its target dead-on. The shadow demon had closed his wings together to try and hold the flaming projectile off, but the attack pierced right through them, digging deep into the shadow beast and destroying it from the inside out as he seemed to melt into smoke and shadows.

However, the joy over this beast's demise was cut short as the shadow crawlers and mist warriors stopped dead in their tracks, simply staying in place around the fortified location, gazing at their targets, as omnious whispers filled the air.

"Death... Shadow... Despair... Agony... Fear..."

As these whispered constantly repeated themselves, thudding sounds could be heard approaching the small group, as large, shadowy silhouette appeared in the distant fog, together with two bright yellow eyes, aswell as a larger yellow glow above them.

Dezeroth cursed to himself. "Seraimoiron, I cannot prepare another such attack. Each bolt takes a weeks' worth of meditation simply to summon, much less sustain." He looked over the battlefield, seeking for some new tactic with which to defeat his foes. It came to him, suddenly, in the form of fallen soldiers. More importantly, it came in the form of their weapons; swords, from pommel to blade, were made of steel. Steel conducted electricity...Dezeroth had a spell which prevented that electricity from escaping... "...General, I am unsure as to what it is that this new enemy will face us with. However, given the powers of those previously fallen, I do not believe it will have a spectacular immunity to electricty. Therefore..." He gestured over the battlefield, "Aere'grasrab Machin'Mortal Blade." A wind swept over the battlefield for a moment as his magic swept over the weapons, bringing them to float over next to him. "...If we charge these blades with electricity, and pierce the hide of whatever comes at us, we may be able to stagger it quite a bit. From there...We will need to figure out a method to execute it efficiently, but that should buy us time to study its' form a little more."

He glanced over at Karrha, next. "You're doing well." He rose his voice, now. "You're all doing well. Keep in mind, men; these creatures might be dark. They may look intimidating, but we are the people of Ik'Yamar! Lead by the visions of Al'tajin! The apparitions of this world mean little to us! Strike them down, before they can dare lay a hand on your brethren!" Having given these words of encouragement, he turned his attention back to the beast before them. "...General, I believe next time I march to battle these beasts, I will request a few logs, just for slaying them with."

Karrha Let out a breath lowing her bow for a moment her arms aching. "This..." she didn't finish as then Dezeroth began to speak she looked at him listening as her arms rested for a while. Karrha sighed openly "I think he may be right." she said looking to Seraimoiron. "What ever the chances of it working. If we don't try then theres no hope of getting them out of here..." she turned her attention to Dezeroth again as he spoke to her directly, and then to the others. she could not help but smile a bit at his words. "well said..."

She snorted as she then moved up a little closer to him. "Logs? how big?" she asked now notching another arrow in readiness. "I think if they get any bigger your going to need half a forest..." she was quite for a seconded. "Then again I'm not sure these things have hides..." she frowned her body shuddering for a moment. It was still cold, enough to see her breath. "I don't think these things are truly living... but I don't think they are really dead...." she said quietly. "The moment that mist came it got cold... like a spirit walking into a room..." she speaking only loud enough for him to hear. "Its far to unnatural for my liking... If we live through this hope its the last time, But somehow I doubt it well be..." she lifted her arrow now lighting it in the nearest flame and holding it steady. "Last stand or last fall? well soon find out wont we..."

Seraimoiron nodded over to Dez, gathering thunder in his hand, but a sudden tremoring roar filled the air, as pitchblack darkness came washing over the men. Immediatly, Seraimoiron leaped forward, changing his plan and creating an electrical force, only just barely managing to shield Karrha and Dez, as their eyes would be filled with utter and complete darkness.

Slowly, their eyesight would return, revealing nothing more than a black abyss around them, and the fortified position they were in utterly destroyed. No corpses were near. Nobody was in sight. It was just the two of them. The presence of their comrades could be felt, but vaguely, as they were nowhere in sight, not even Seraimoiron.
Neither were any of the mist warriors and shadow crawlers, though.

However, when the two would once more observe their surroundings, those same yellow, glowing eyes from earlier would be coming forth from the darkness, with thudding steps, as a massive beast, three times the height of a full grown man appeared. A winged beast, made up entirely out of shadow, sporting large claws and a strange, bone shaped object on his chest.

Dezeroth sighed. "I see. So, that's not going to be how it works, then." He looks around at the battlefield before them and the decided lack of comrades. "It appears, Karrha, that we are the only ones here." Bringing his hand over so that it points to the space between them, the Mage wills the swords to follow his movements. With the floating weapons now in between them and the beast, he tries to think for a moment

. I could have used a temporary Transmutation spell to turn Karrha into something equally terrifying, but there's no hope of that now. He looked at the two eyes, which were very obviously glowing. Its' power-source is likely located there. A strike there will likely not kill it, but enrage it instead. However, it will also provide us an opening for further assault. What I shall do from there, I do not know. However.... "I will send each of these at separate points," Dezeroth informed Karrha, "They should open up a clear shot for its' eyes. I want you to send an arrow directly for one of them. From there, I will concoct a spell which may or may not buy us some time. If this does earn us any amount of time, however...Prepare. I will likely be performing a ritual upon you using what little power I have left, and from there it will be mostly up to you to win this battle."

Separating the strands of magic controlling each of the blades, he took hold of one specifically, pointing toward an arm. It flew for its' target even as he took control of yet another sword, sending it now for the opposite leg. And yet another for another wing, and another, continuing with all the appendages that might slow it down before immediately weaving a new spell. He stepped back, now, removing his sword from its' resting-place within the cane. Drawing an imaginary circle, he murmured "Archeos.[i/]" The circle glowed with a dull light, reflecting what little visibility they had. Lifting one sleeve, he glanced down, referencing to the runes on his arm. Copying one of them into the circle, he thought for a moment. "[i]Arcdibe'Percept.[i/]" The rune blazed, and the circle changed shape to that of an eye, with the pupil being the rune previously given. Within the iris, he drew a new symbol, one that curved like flames, "[i]Firanos."

With his Delayed Activation spell now complete, he stood, sword at the ready, waiting for Karrha's arrow to pierce the beings' eye. Hopefully this spell will do the trick. It is a being of shadow, therefore, light should act the same way darkness works for mortals such as ourselves. Fire will be the power-source...And the light will bend true...It should be the proper counter. Damn, if only I knew more about this beast!

Karrha gazed around her breath gone for a moment Then Dezeroth spoke shaking her out of her frozen state and her breath came back. she nodded thought frowned ritual on her? However she didn't have to much time to think on it and instead watched what he did while she notched an arrow aiming carefully at the things eye before letting off just as soon as he was done with his own attack. She then glanced down at what he was doing frowning, as she did not understand any of it before glancing back up notching another arrow, she let this one off to int he same place, or close enough to, if the first one did not make it the seconded had a better chance again she notched a third for... well just in case. She didn't quite understand but she knew that they where still out there, the general the other men... she could not see them but she could feel them faintly... and by the ash's if they where all dead she was going to... what would she do? Karrha knew fear and as much as she attempted to wrestle it down it was still there.

She let out a soft breath. If this is where it ended was that good or bad? she wondered... she Glanced at Dezeroth as he got up. "I hope this works..." she said finely holding her bow in a white knuckled grip.

With the multitude of blades being sent towards the beast, a couple connected, jabbing into the beast's shadowy form, before he brought his wings together before him, shielding himself as the remaining blades bounced off of the wings. Once the barrage of blades had ended, he opened his wings up again with a roar, his eyes settling upon the two again, before he was immediatly shot in the face with an arrow, roaring out as he covered his face with his hand, but that didn't last longer than a few seconds, as the arrow was consumed by the shadows, and his eyes locked upon the two again, roaring out menacingly as his horn began to glow brighter, before unleashing a blinding flash, bright enough to actually hurt one's eyes.

With the flash ignited, the beast stomped forward again, before trying to bring his claws slashing down upon the two and reduce them to bloodied ribbons. Should any of them dodge to the side, he would begin thrashing around with his six legs, seeking to stomp or kick them.

Dezeroth immediately lined up his sword, but before he could trigger the burst, the beast let out one of its' own. His aim went askew, and instead the spell was triggered at its' horn. Which played out well, anyway. While the horn was quite impossible to set aflame, the spell took hold of the light that was designated to come from the flame. Instead of taking the fire-light, it instead took the horns' light, which was flowing just the same. It's not as if spells can really tell the difference, after all; if they could, then Mages wouldn't really be needed. They'd just say whatever and leave all the pointing to the spells.

However, he was very much unable to take advantage of this, as the beast was already upon them. Quite conveniently, actually. Pulling Karrha back to avoid an attack, then pushing her behind him as he swerved to the side to go in between two razor-sharp claws, he grabbed onto one of the blades and stabbed in with his own cane-sword, shouting "Aerefios'Blade!" Since he was still holding onto two swords, lightning charged from both of them, and since Dezeroth had not had time to properly ward his spells, he, too, was effected. Blasted back by the energy charging through him, the Mage propped himself up with his elbows before standing. Propping himself up with the mundane sword, he scratched out a new design with the Cane-Sword. Occasionally, he'd look down at his wrists and mutter some words before continuing on. Glancing over at Karrha, he nodded toward the beast. "Keep it busy for a while! This may take longer than the spells will distract it." Turning back to his work, he continued on, drawing several layers of elaborate spells and runes as he prepared this ritual that might even the odds.

Karrha was very much put off. She had closed her eyes but even then her eyes hurt from the flash. Dezeroth suddenly grabbed her and she found herself behind him, and then of coarse he was Blasted back. by then she was able to see again... well what there was to see. as he told her to distract it she shook her head, thinking how in the world was she supposed to do that?! none the less she moved quickly under neither it taking care to avoid its legs while shooting at its under belly. she ducked and tumbled under moving legs. one grazed her forearm leaving a rather messy gash that the grimaced at. she eventually ended up at its side which she shot at two. it was also then she realized if she kept going on like this she would run out of arrows.

"Your plan better be good Dezeroth..." she growled scrambling away.

While the beast seemed hardly phased by the magical attack on his horn, the arrows that dug their way into its underbelly caused it to roar out in anger, stomping around more fiercely, before spreading his wings and beating them once, lifting him off of the ground and landing a bit further back, allowing him to see both his opponents again. His bright glowing yellow eyes pulsed with rage as he roared out, before omnious smoke emitted from the bone structure upon his chest.

"Come into the darkness..."

At this call, his chest opened up like a flower, only to reveal a whirling mass of viscious shadows inside himself. As this maelstrom of shadows was revealed, the very air could be felt being sucked away, threatening to leave nothing but an empty void, which was also slowly filling more with shadows. If he were able to hold this up long enough, both Karrha and Dez would end up unable to breath. It also be felt that the longer he held this up, the more it would feel like he was siphoning away their strength and stamina, showing the same treat as the shadow crawlers, being that he sought to siphon away their souls.

Dezeroth, of course, had just the solution for that. He had been working overtime throughout the attack, and had completed his circle. "Karrha!" He gasped, "Prepare yourself!" Clapping his hands, he tapped into his reservoir of strength from his robes, a necessary function for both parts of his next few actions, and stabbed the sword into the circle. "Aeregos! He cried out, Wind circulating from other parts of the battlefield into their own area. It was quickly sucked away, but at least there would not be a complete void, and they could get a bit of breath. "Step into the circle! Touch the sword!" With that, he turned to the sword, doing the only thing left to him: Casting his spell.

Pointing at the sword, he began.

"Meragia Chareat Anima,
Meragia Chareat Anima,
Anima dov Scaravus,
Meragia Chareat Anima,
Anima dov Disgeren!"

The spell was triggered so that it would activate once she stepped in. It would grant her the form of a recent beast they'd fought; a Shadow Demon. Of course, his magic wouldn't allow her all of its' magical powers; but it's huge form, wings, and resistances would be hers. Now, of course, Dez had to turn his attention to the next assault on them. That of the creatures' chest. Taking the sword in his hand, he pointed it at the creatures' chest. "Aeregos Miroe!" The sword took off, leaping toward the opening he'd aimed it at. I really hope it doesn't move, he thought idly as he fell to the ground, the fatigue finally kicking in from the beasts' own assault.

Karrha could only make herself do as she was told, thought it was somewhat unlike her. she was able to breath then but the moment she stepped into the circle something began to happen to her, her body tingled, grew, expanded, formed, developed, and sprouted new appendages. Karrha was astounded as she looked over herself, as far as she could tell... she looked almost akin to the beast they witness earlier. it felt very... mmm Odd to say the least. and the more she glanced at herself the more she could believe it but even as the arms moved at her will... she glanced down at Dezeroth, It did not seem he was going to do much more.

Pulling her attention back to the beast in front of them she figured this spell would only last for so long and then wither she liked it or not she was going to have to do what she could, she would just give Dezeroth a peace of her mind later. she moved forward and in front of the mage pulling back the large clawed hand of the form she was currently in to lash out at the beasts face. This looked powerful, even on eye level with it... so she would have to be fast, agile, how was that possible in this form? she tried to withdraw to the side, she needed to push it back away from the mage as well with less risk of squishing him as they battled.

This was a predicament... she... was not adapt at close range righting... adn now she was a little more then forced into doing just that...

The demonic beast seemed unimpressed by the sudden transformation, simply continuing his attack as it grew further in strength. The shadow demon Karrha had become was still a good few heads shorter than the demonic beast.
However, a suddenly flash emitted from the bone structure on his chest as a blade dug its way into it, causing the beast to roar out in pain, stumbling a bit as he was caught off-guard, the the vacuum disappearing as the bone structure closed again. Being distracted as he was, Karrha managed to succesfully claw the beasts face, before he rapidly brought his wings together before him and swinging them open again to smash his opponent further back.

Roaring out in pure rage, he now charged forward again, his six legs thrashing onto the ground as he sought to claw Karrha to shreds with his massive bone claws, constantly switching between a right swipe, left swipe, right swipe, etc...

Karrha skidded back from the attack but more to the side rather then strait back from her attempt to move to the side. She turned her head slightly upon hearing Dezeroth, just barely after the rawer of the beast she could hear him. she was caught by one of the swipes then staggering her almost making her collapse, if it was not for the seconded one, she could not bring herself to make a sound but somehow this only reminded her of a women being struck by a man which oddly enough also made her react. she pushed back just out of reach of the next few swipes and closed her wings in around herself. She could not seem to find her voice and could not speak back, even if she had wished to. however a hefty growl resonated from her larger body.

Throwing her wings wide as another attack connected with them she hopped to through its arms wide away giving her enough of an opening to lunge, she was significantly smaller then the being in front of her... that two could give her an advantage, though this body did not seem to work exactly like her original one had. she dropped down under its guard and swiped up at its underbelly and legs with her long clawed hands, She had to find a way to compromise with this body so she could move somewhat like she did in her original body.

The dark beast was furiously swiping at the imposter of his own kind, roaring out as his rage driving swipes sought to sever Karrha in half. However, upon clipping one of her wings, he snarled as he knew what was coming, but could not react in time, the wings slamming open, sending the goliath stumbling back, leaving him wide open.
With Karrha being able to use this oppertunity to slide beneath the beast, it roared out as claws ripping through his underside and his legs. Karrha's transformation would begin to wear off however, the furious beast, stumbling backwards, trying to remain standing on his wounded legs, though crippling down, being forced to support himself with his arms.

Dezeroth growled, "I...Don't...Think...So...Karrha! While you still wear that form! Finish it off! Do whatever you need to do--Pierce its eyes with your claws, slit its' throat, but don't allow it to finish that attack!" The mage knew he was asking a lot of her. She rarely used her bow in physical combat, much less fought with claws and teeth. With this in mind, he looked for something--Anything--He could do. Looking over at his sword, an idea slowly dawned upon him. Weakly, he stood, stumbling over to the blade. The circle no longer glowed; all the magic had been poured into Karrha, who now fought with the remainder. Likewise, there was little magic in his garb; it had almost all been spent. Nevertheless, He told himself, it will have to do.
Using the sword to support himself, he began drawing a new Arcane circle, this time around the beast. With its' attention on Karrha, perhaps he could finish a circle to steal arcane power. Literally, Dezeroth would snatch away the beings' ability to defeat her magically and throw that same attack right back at him. well, the same attack is a bit much. Perhaps a similar attack; like my sword, through its' heart. Using what little magic he had left and some he had gathered while resting, he drew each glyph carefully, glancing up at the fight every now and then to see where they were before continuing to murmur.

Karrha perked up at her name hearing the mage call but did not pull her attention away from the beast this time. she felt... more beastual in this form and she was not sure she liked it. However she growled understanding, what ever she could to stop it. she doubted she could wrap her long fingers around that thing. and even now she could feel the form dissipating slowly around her... she snorted as she pulled herself up and then lunged. one set of claws aiming for its throat another aiming to grasp its head however her jaws, and this felt very unnatural to her, most unnatural. Normally this would not cross her mind, desperate times called for desperate measures no? but she was no close range fighter... she brought her jaws to its horn the only intent was to snap it off, crush it, destroy it either way, if he used that to gather power then taking that would leave him some what defenseless no?

However even with this act, and movement left herself open as well, she was both in range of its strong claws and possibly more. she hopped against hope thought that would not acure to the beast that was about to, hopefully have its horned ripped off.

The beast roared out as the claws ripped through his throat, not seeming to phase him all that much, though, making it obvious this beast does not follow the exact rules of anatomy. The biggest mistake however, was when Karrha's jaws locked onto the horn. Instead of crushing it as she intended, it seemed that the very magic that sustained her form was absorbed into the beast, stripping her of her bestial form even faster. With Karrha now in this close range, the beast almost seemed to grin, as far as that was possible, followed by his horn igniting the same blinding flash from earlier, seeming like that was the only effect of the spell he was charging. With the flash possibly blinding both his opponents, the beast became aware of the mage's presence and was not willing to take any chances, smashing Karrha away with his massive tail as he turned to the mage, roaring out as he charged forward and sought to grasp the man and raise him up above him, his clawed hand squeezing upon his prey should he have caught him, seeking to crush the man.

Dezeroth had just finished the circle when he was blinded. Crying out, he put his hands over his eyes; however, as it had before, the magical shadows and white hair had protected him from being fully disabled by the pain. Without knowing of the danger coming at him, he began quickly, managing to chant

"Meragia, Meragia, recotre mehare-"

Before the beast caught him. While thrown in the air, he panicked slightly. If it stepped too far out, it would be unaffected by the spell. His only chance was to continue on with the spell, before presumably hitting the floor to his death.

"Meragia, Meragia, recotre mehare-"

And then he was caught. With the fear of being crushed, all that the Mage could do was stab at the beasts' hand and continue on.

"Mortabohi'Meragia.....unwinto....me!"

The mage was barely conscious, though, the crushing making it difficult to breath. He could hear bones cracking, and his vision was flickering black to reality, black to reality, as his life-essence powered the spell, now. Still, he bleakly continued stabbing, looking for the tendons holding the hand closed. "...Karrha..." He managed weakly, "...Finish it..."

Karrha knew the moment her Jaws locked onto the horn she had made a terrible mistake, she could not really say how until she was suddenly back in her own human body. was suddenly slammed into, tossed like a little rage doll into the air, a painful gasp leaving her lips before she crashed to the ground with a painful cry with a snap. She had landed on her arm and broken it badly, along with more then that... somehow she was still even conscious, will perhaps she was not ready to lay down yet. She might not fear death, but she didn't know if having your soul sucked out was being dead, but that did not mean she would not do everything with I her power to keep from walking through that door. But part of her realy wished she was dead right now. her eyes stung from the bright flash, but that was not nearly as painful as what her entire body felt like right now. she coughed as she forced herself to roll over, to think to blink open her eyes till she could see faintly.

From what little she could make out the beast was standing... or something, holding... something she felt faint but clawed at her awareness to keep it there. she felt around and soon found and arrow, 4 actuly, and then reached back out until she felt her bow just a little out of reach... she coughed again. her body trembling from the pain as she pulled the bow closer and with a struggle put the arrow on it keeping it in place was very difficult but she managed with her still good arm, if it could be called that, a broke hard to keep balanced, and keep her away from the sharp pain it gave her, and her teeth. she pulled back the string, aiming as best as she could before letting it off at the beasts... she didn't have a clue where it would land or if it would eve do anything but she was not ready to lay down and die yet. she gritted her teeth at the pain and tried for another arrow.

After a couple of stabbings however, he snarled as the little worm in his hand was beginning to annoy him and as such he flicked his arm sideways, sending Dez hurling away like a ragdoll. Having done this, however, he had turned towards Karrha again, glaring over at her as she was lining up her shot, and before he could realise what was going on, he felt the sudden sharp pain of an arrow digging into his throat, roaring out, though still not downed by this, it seemed to catch him off-guard for a moment, as he proceded with roaring out towards the source of the arrow, now fully pivoting on the spot as his wings spread out, the bone structure on his chest beginning to move again, as it opened up like a flower once more, the abyssal shadow inside revealed as the very air would seem to be drawn inside once more.

A bowstring cracked next to the Mage, jolting him for a moment. He looked over to see Karrha, his ally, battered. Dezeroth was sure he didn't look any better. There was nothing he could do, really, except give it one more try. I need to make her an opening, Raising himself with one elbow, he aimed his sword, shaking, at the creatures' back. Blackness crawled at the edges of his vision as he gathered his life-force for one more attack. "Aerefios'Blade.." With those drowsily said words, the blade shot off, seeking to drive the creatures' bone opening in its' chest. He fell unconscious, pale white in complexion, dreaming dreams of darkness and horror.

Karrha was struggling, against her own body wanting to leave it done there, struggling against the lack of air that was being taking from her, sucked away. she pulled back this time bracing the bow with her feet for a better and stronger shot. it was also a lot easier to hold. in her good arm held the last two arrows she could find. she let this one go quickly grabbing onto the string again with her teeth to lay another arrow on this time aiming for the bone on its chest along with Mage's Blade. How her body hurt but with this last arrow she knew if they did not defeat this thing now... they would never be coming back. she relesed the arrow and laid her last arrow up and prayed, thought she had stopped praying a long time ago she prayed this one would find a worthy mark. "Meragaia if you really are watching I pray this remaining arrow finds its mark where ever it may be... Ik’Yamar..." her eyes narrowed as her sight came back every so slowly. she was holding her last bit of air before she released the last arrow. with that her body fell back, with nothing more to fight with there was only to wait and see...

The beast roared out, feeling victory drawing closer as he surged the very air away. However, when suddenly, he was struck by both the mage's blade and Karrha's arrow, the bone structure immediatly closed again, causing the beast to stumble back again, roaring out in rage as it spread its wings for the final charge.

As Karrha laid the next arrow on her bow, he began thrashing forward, claws raised.
When the arrow left the bow, something washed over the field, called forth by Karrha's desperate prayer. A power even stronger than the beast they were facing, as the sand beneath them seemed to stir, the vague image of a scorpion forming around the arrow as it blasted forward, the arrow seeming to bend on it course, before striking the beast in between the eyes, but it did not halt there. The arrow did simply stop when it hit the shadowy flesh. Instead, the blessed projectile pierced right through, digging through the being's head as it ejected from the back of its head. The beast halted its charged, reaching up to grab his face, roaring out in agony, as it was swiping around him wildly, before opening his wings and absorbing the shadows that surrounded them, letting them wash over Karrha and Dez's eyes to completely black out their sight if they were still conscious.
This darkness lasted for a good few seconds, but when it was over, their eyesight would slowly return, to reveal the open sky and the burning sun of Talos.

The fog had cleared and was retreating to the ocean. Any sign of the viscious beasts had vanished, save for the countless lifeless soldiers on the beach.
"There they are!" A voice called out, as men rushed over to the two. Seraimoiron was with the men, kneeling down by the two and immediatly checking if the two were still alive. "Are you alright?"

Karrha gazed up at the sky for a moment that warmth just washed over her she drew a shaky breath and let it out more relaxed now, even the pain seemed to subside just a fraction. "Thank you..." she breathed quietly. the first time in years.. and it had been answered it almost brought her to tears. As the man came over she waved them away with her good arm and began to pull herself up again, coughing and over exerting herself But there was something that needed argent tending to. "fine..." she breathed, labored and all but she pulled herself over to Dezeroth with her only good arm. Quite obvious she was not fine and if she was correct healing him now would leave her more then a little useless until she rested. However with some help she managed to sit there and place her hands on him. though she probably did not have the strength to bring him to she could at least stabilize him and keep him from falling pray to death.

Once she had pored the last remaining bit of her magical energy through her healing channel she shuddered violently and sagged in exhaustion. They where alive, but so near to death or possibly worse. she breathed in the sweet air that only moments before had been sucking away from her. Rest they needed rest now and it seemed that they had taken their shores back... with that Karrha closed her eyes ready to sink into a much needed and wry rest.

Dezeroth's eyes flickered for a moment, but before he could respond to anything around him, he fell back into a deep sleep, his breathing, once shallow, now normal if deep. His skin regained some of its' color, but there was a noticeable difference from when he had originally entered the battle; his hair was now silver, to be sure, but not the magical white it had been when he had first fought, and the shadows that had covered his face had turned to those that were cast by the sun. His face was rather youthful, although scars ran from his ear to his cheek, presumably from some sort of bestial attack.
Indeed, even the aura of power that once crackled around him was gone, as all the magic in his body had been poured out when he had thrown it into an attempt to save his ally. His robes were tattered, and the tattoos that once decorated his wrists and ankles had disappeared. To any who looked upon him now, it was obvious that his magic was gone. A few feet away, his sword lay on the ground, steaming.

As the two slipped into their sleep, Seraimoiron ordered the surrounding soldiers to carry the two back to their basecamp, and transport them to Scaravus to be tended to by their own healers. Seraimoiron himself remained behind with a handful of soldiers, burying the dead of both Scaravus and Firanos, and securing Talos once more.
