ARE YOU READY FOR YOUR JUDGMENT?

No, really, are you ready for your latest finished battle to be judged? Cause if you are, then you're in the right place!

The steps are quite simple; first you agree to a battle, then you come here and fill out the form at the bottom of this post and post it, then judges will be assigned to your battle and they'll judge it AS you fight! Super simple for all involved!

Well you can!
Or, at least you can try out to judge. All you have to do is fill out the application below and PM it to me! I'll look it over and if we need a new judge you'll be accepted right away, if we're good on judges at the moment I'll let you know and then get back to you when we need you!

I'm adding the members of the council to the Judging List, that Includes Jacagos,, Kiwi and Myself. We will be adding up our own judging abilities, fortunately as being the founding members of SMUT we know more about the rules and the flow of Power Vs Skill in battles than any one else. So there's no training required(Which makes us meaner Judges Bwhahaha).

Note: We are not Judge replacements. We are Judge support. As a battles have a knack of ending at the same time we will be available to be asked for and Love Amore can call us if she is busy.

You can request us but we have the right to transfer their judging duties if they feel that they are regular judges available.

how is it a problem? there is a precedent. You just award us less points, as there are less posts to judge.

Haytham Kenway vs Captain Barbossa.

It ended in 15 posts.

SQJ
03-12-2013, 09:06 PM
That's not exactly the same...I created an exception becase you and Crazy were new and misunderstood the rules so I gave leeway. The actual Rule is Zero points for anything below 90% completion, which is why my Mask battle with Teejail isn't completed or why other battles with other fighters who say they've quit are still listed as running. But generally those are easy fixes since both parties tend to quit. It's also why none of the battles have time lines. You're supposed to have unlimited time to post which is why her concern over wasting your time isn't actually a smut issue. Which means her only valid(to smut) reason to quite the battle is because she's not into fighting you any more. Which puts me into the awkward position of either changing the rule or enforcing the rule and that there is a council issue since I don't like effecting any rules without council support. See where I'm coming from?

Cfavano
03-12-2013, 09:16 PM
I don't see why that rule is even there. It seems like it makes everything unnecessarily complex. Like, what if one guy is a dick, and refuses to post anymore, because he knows he's gonna lose. Or, god forbid, someone dies, and therefore can't finish the fight? Does that mean the other players (the one who's not a dick, or dead) have to suffer because of extenuating circumstances? Or, what if a logical closure point has been reached before 30 posts? Does that mean the remaining posts have to be Being just to make the 30 post limit? I think, and this is my opinion, is that 30 posts should be the MAX, and if a fight ends before that, it ends before that. That way, it can be more realistic, and that the players don't have to stretch out a battle that ended at 20 posts, all the way to 30. It just muddles the spirit, and if there are fewer posts to judge, that's less work for the judges.

SQJ
03-12-2013, 09:37 PM
Interesting ideas. The council will look over your thoughts.
The game used to be forty posts, thirty posts was a compromise, it's very unlikely it will get lower. BUT if you want to play a lower posting game you can. Its set up so you can

You just get less(/more depending on the battle) points and you have to do more.
There's 3 on 3
Five on five
Tag
Royals
KO
(More to come one day)

All having options of posting less. Unfortunately they either require more battles or more people and the scoring at the end reflects the commitment.

The fact of the matter is, you're not supposed to stretch out a battle, you're supposed to balance out a battle. Figure your characters capabilities out and battle in such a way that your battle spreads out thirty posts. And how well you can use that balancing skill reflects in your Power and Flow in your judging. There's no realism in ending a battle early, unless it's a question of a writer running out of ideas or fading out early(not even fading out early because a winning writer could actually make that work).

Curious though...if someone died in a battle for points, you'd have your hand up asking for points? Some one is dead and your asking for points?

Cfavano
03-12-2013, 09:45 PM
no. I'm not saying that. But I'm saying that if that battle ends because of some very unfortunate circumstances, that does not mean it should be simply thrown out, if the players worked really hard on it

SQJ
03-12-2013, 09:50 PM
Kk

DoughGuy
03-12-2013, 11:20 PM
A battle which goes below 30 posts robs the winner of points since they can't score as high. Also you shouldn't be getting a logical closure before 30 posts because that implies you're creating an ending which, as said in the fighting thread, is not up to the players its up to the judges. If someone is deliberately avoiding a battle then that should be brought up so it can be discussed. Finally in the event if tragic circumstances I would think the battle would be declared null and void.
