Belgarath

From the day he was born Belgarath was always in the smallest size class of Decatis. Once he was a week old his mother stopped protecting him as is the custom of Decatis. He lived out the next several years of his life scavenging off of kills and living off his wits. Everyone called him weak and didn't even consider him to be worth killing. No one cared what he thought or what he did. To his own species he was but an insect and other species naturally held hate for their natural predators the Decatis. One day he heard a cry of pain and fear coming from the inland river system. He explored it half from curiosity and half from not caring if he died. There he met a huge red cloud that incapacitated him and invaded his body. He woke up with some slight brain damage several days later in the same river. His new roommate experimented on his body using him as a test subject. Hormones like estrogen, and adrenaline were tested as was heightening taste and putting strange tastes in the mouth. It made him taste a decatis (He learned that taste from eating a brother in the same size class) and he took that as a time to go back to his brothers. They experimented with eating lactic acid and bonding to muscles for improved stamina. When he finally got back he waited for nightfall so his master could infest other Decatis. It contacted him in his dreams that night. It showed him affection, even love and beauty through his dream. These emotions that he felt were new and powerful. He finally found a way to talk to his new love by making it understand his thoughts. Their bond grew as Abaddon introduced herself and spread to others. Belgarath saw his new love as a master, or even a goddess. He helped get rid of any obstacles in her way as she took over the Decatis tribes one by one. She preserved her most loyal servant by switching his mind with a newborn Decatis whenever he got old. He finally had someone who cared for him, someone who loved him, and he would not let her down!

Abaddon

Abaddon started out inside a ten foot long Decatis named Belgarath. They met in a river a good few weeks inland from the original coastal home of the Decatis. It tried many experiments on his body before even getting to the brain. Things like adrenaline, estrogen, increased sense of taste, and consuming lactic acid to give him more stamina. He lived in that river for days confused and curious about just what had entered him (Truly unconscious when Abaddon entered, lack of oxygen, brain damage, slight amnesia.) She then made him taste Decatis through his mind. He took this as a sign to go back to the other Decatis and was correct about his new masters' intentions. After a few days of hard swimming his reward being a mentally induced orgasm going on constantly (They still couldn't talk to each other at this point) he managed to reach the home beach and the tribe he belonged to before. He waited until nightfall and purposely rested near the others to make spreading easy for his master. That night they finally got to speak to each other, made vows of eternal love and from Belgarath servitude. She bestowed upon him dreams of magnificent beauty and a female red Decatis stimulating him in ways he didn't know were possible. He released milt in his sleep while Poledra (The female abaddon chose to take) Released a clutch of five eggs. To make a long story short she altered the unhatched babies to be good at five things. One had no head, a hole for consuming, communicated solely through electrical messages transmitted by Abaddon, and was a true genius. One was amphibious, One was made smaller with hallow bones, wings and as such could fly. One had literally no chance at sentience and was a killing machine controlled by the other siblings, and finally one could breath under water as well as dig in serpent shape. To make the same long story short again the tropical Decatis tribes were taken over pretty easily and Belgarath was kept alive by repeatedly swapping his brain with newborns when he got old. Over the centuries the bond of the two lovers god and servant grew, the major peace whale population was enslaved and metalworking, farming, and organic buildings became common. The two most important buildings made were containers (Think moving specialized warehouse) and sleepers (Beds with less sleep needed do to more efficient sleep, baby incubators lowering time needed for eggs to hatch babies to develop and such, and final benefit longer lifespan) were created. Sleepers administer all kinds of helpful chemicals and lead is common.

History of Fostryk's tribe: from Nomad to Village

The tribe that Fostryk Vordos would soon be born into wasn't really a tribe. They were mostly nomads, a pack really, roaming the northern side of what they deemed their territory. This boundary was along the sea that nearly split an entire continent in two. They were a small tribe, only 15 of them. The leader, called Rergad Grov, was in his prime, and thus he and the males of the pack would often go on hunting expeditions and go to conquer more territory. Rergad was eventually killed by an enemy Volryk, and the position of Alpha was up for grabs. Two contestants stepped up, A large, imposing warrior named Nasgrizv Grov, the brother of the late Rergad, and a smaller, quicker scout called Oldva Bellor. They fought, but Oldva won in the end, quickly biting into Nasgriz's neck and snapping it. It was around that time that Fostryk was born, and when his pack began to settle down, creating a more permanent home. Their houses were holes in the ground, very small and cramped. They eventually learned to make fire, but didn;t do it often as it attracted unwanted guests. By the time Fostryk was born, 50years after the death of Rergad, his pack had transformed into an actual tribe of 24 Volryk, and Fostryk making the 25th. They were not the most powerful tribe, but their warriors were the most experienced and they rarely lost a battle. Oldva was 60 by this time, and still the greatest warrior in the tribe. His only weapons in battle were his own teeth and claws.

A muffled sound is somewhat audible in the forest around the pack. It was a rhythmic thumping. Mating? No that would involve some sort of love cry most likely. Well the only way to find out just what the noise was would be to investigate.

Oldva sent out a small party of 5 of his best warriors to investigate the sound. Among them was Fostryk's father, Miklos, who lead the party deep into the forest. This sound was new to them. Then again, they had never left their territory, which only consisted of about 20 square miles. Most of the group was not afraid. They were trained to fight, and fight well. If whatever it was out there was hostile, then they would defeat it. Still, they hoped that there would be no death at all.

As you walked you heard something awful. A cry of pain and rage so loud and intimidating that it sent a chill down your very spines! It couldn't have come from more than a hundred feet away but forest vegetation obscured your view. Whatever was making the noise you could tell two things. It was tough, and it was pissed.

Miklos stopped his party at the sound. They all loked at each otrher with worried looks. Even an enraged Volryk wasn't that loud. Miklos reagained his senses quickly and ordered his group to spread out to 10 foot intervals between them. They readied their weapons, all spears and clubs, and began to move forward. They heard the crys and thumping becoming louder as they got closer to it. Miklos and his men were all battle hardened, but even they were scared now.

As you neared you saw a clearing from in between the trees. Two massive seven foot long, five foot tall (At the shoulder) lizards were fighting. Covered in terrifying foot long spikes with an ominous purple liquid oozing from them and with blasts of flame bellowing from their mouths they battled on four legs ending in sinister looking claws. Perhaps worst of all were the two sided blades of bone protruding from the ends of their thick and thrashing tails. The teeth with numerous and sharp as razors. Their scaly hides were thick as armor and shining brown streaked with red blood. This was a very and I can't exorcise this enough very scary battle to watch.

Miklos nearly let out a yell when he saw them, but his training held true and he just observed. These two creatures were no bigger than him, but they had much better armament and pretection than he and his warriors did. He slowly moved to a position where he could not be seen but could still observe these strange creatures. He motioned for his men to come join him, and they did. Unfortunately, one of them saw the lizards and let out a loud yell in terror. Apparently the beasts heard him, and stopped fighting just for a second and stared at the warrior, now frozen with terror. Miklos told his warriors to stay hidden until his mark, but to be ready to charge. If they attacked, they would fight. If not, then they would do these lizards no harm.

They didn't even give their observers a second glance. They continued to tear into each other without mercy or fear. You saw one literally slam the other into a large tree hard with a spike piercing its scales. The slammed creature let out another howl of pain as the first pull off. The wound was a sickening dark purple (almost black) color and yet it was already starting to close! Such astounding healing ability... While healing though the eyes seemed to go into a blank trance. A large roughly three, by three, by two foot rock was lifted off the ground in the claws of the first now standing upright on his hind legs and using his tail to balance. Just as the eyes started to focus again the rock was brought down on their owners head with such force as to shake the ground below it. You now saw what remained of its head. It was crushed to the point of pulp as the first finally backed off his enemy falling dead to the ground. He let out a burst of flame straight into the sky while roaring in victory. He then regarded you not with anger but curiosity in his simple animal eyes. He wasn't even baring his teeth or trying to kill you in about ten different ways like you expected him to...

ooc: How do you like the Vraar?

Miklos was surprised by the creatures sudden change from violent killing machine to seemingly docile. He lowered his weapon, a large club, and sloly approached the beast, which didn't move but just watched him. His men watched from behind, worried that it might suddenly attack their leader and then go for them. All of them watched with bated breath as Miklos reached out a hand to the beast.

OOC: I'll reply in the OOC thread.

It began to sniff your hand.... What the hell?! The thing you'd just seen commit one of the most horrible murders you'd ever witnessed was sniffing you calmly, almost casually!

To say that the volryk warriors were confused would be an understatement. They were downright baffled! The other volryk came out of their hiding place. two of them went to inspect the dead vraar, while the other two approached Miklos.

Rasha
05-20-2010, 09:44 PM
Again Fang (The live Vraar) regarded your actions curiously. Why wasn't he trying to kill you? Perhaps he just wanted to know what you'd do. Perhaps it was just his instinct. That was still to be seen.

The corpse had fallen down from where it was standing and the black wound wasn't completely closed. The head was still pulp and the corpse as a whole was still warm if unmoving.

Shifty

One of miklos' men spparoached the vraar, ready to pat it on the head, in a friendly gesture. Miklos and the other volryk were just looking at it, observing. The other two by the dead vraar began using an axe to cut some meat from it to bring back to the tribe.

05-20-2010, 10:12 PM
Fang not only didn't bite the hand that patted him he actually licked it... Okay now this was just plain kooky!

He then walked over to the corps and shook his head back and forth in clear view of those taking the meat. The purple liquid could be seen trickling from the cut you'd made. Almost to make a point he jumped into the air and flipped while showing another ability. A spike from his tail shot with incredible velocity and pinned a deer like creature to a tree. It was still moving but Fang continued to watch it. He was trying to show you something.

Shifty
05-20-2010, 10:24 PM
The volryk who made the cut was pretty sure he knew what the beast was saying. Even though it looked dead, it could still be deadly, possibley launching a spike at them. He motioned for the rest of them to stay away from the corpse. Miklos got it second, and aggreed with his warrior. Their job had been to investigate only, so they began to head back to their tribe to tell them of what had happened.

Luckily the deer was still in the general line of sight. You saw the area the spike had hit getting darker very quickly and thicker too. Dear god what was happening!? Fang also followed.

ooc: No spikes after death. This danger is a lot more insidious...

Shifty
05-20-2010, 10:31 PM
Miklos tried to shoo Fang away, and when he turned saw the deer. He stopped his men, and they too saw it. One of them began to walk towards it,and the rest followed. They stopped about 7 feet from it. The area just got darker and darker. This should not be happening.

Rasha
05-20-2010, 10:36 PM
Fang didn't go away but continued to watch. You saw the skin of the deer start to violently tear itself apart and large globs of solid red you assumed were blood gushed out. They were followed by just a few drops of the purple liquid you'd seen before. Could this be what it did? You didn't even want to think about what would've happened if you'd ingested it... The deer howled in terrible indescribable pain and went unconscious. Doubtless it would die soon.

ooc: Do you get it yet?

Shifty
05-20-2010, 10:51 PM
ooc: yes. I do believe I see it, and I see that that is why Fang wanted to kill the other vraar.

The volryk watched with horror at what was happening before them. one of them even thew up. They couldn't stop watching as the red globs spurted from the deer. By now the deer must be dead, as nothing could survive such terrible mutilation. One of them pulled out his water sack and dumped out the contents. He intended to get some of the purple liquid in the hopes it migh have some special properties. His action s were unnoticed by the others.

Rasha
05-20-2010, 11:00 PM
ooc: We'll see if you're right later I suppose.

Fang still followed but literally droplets were coming down. If you were fast you could get a very small amount of the liquid but not much.

ooc: Consider yourself ungodly lucky to get enough to fill a tablespoon. Well from this corpse anyway.

Shifty
05-20-2010, 11:34 PM
Miklos noticed the warrior and shouted to him to stop before he could get any of the liquid. The last of it then fell from the corpse. The warriors once again headed back to their tribe.

Rasha
05-20-2010, 11:37 PM
And still fang followed. Other than that fact going back was pretty calm actually. How would you treat this strange new beast?

Shifty
05-20-2010, 11:55 PM
The tribe treated this new creature well and with respect. They gave it good food and treated it as one of the tribe, if only becuase they knew what it could do if it got angry. It was a very peaceful relationship.

Rasha
05-20-2010, 11:58 PM
Quite peaceful indeed. This beast ate what it was given and seemed to realize now that it was a member of a pack. The next day it saw a shadow dart through the trees near where the tribe had set up camp/nest. It began to growl while looking into the trees. Whatever could this be? Another Vraar? No there would have been more sound. What was this sneaky thing then?

Shifty
05-21-2010, 12:24 AM
Just 2 volryk were sent to investigate. They were rookie warriors who had only fought in two battles each. Oldva sent them because a rival volryk tribe had been seen not too far away, and he wanted his elite warriors at home in case of an attack.

Rasha
05-21-2010, 02:08 AM
It seemed like a black silhouette was speeding through the trees only barely noticeable at all. You were truly disturbed when you saw a large bubbling puddle with bones that seemed to be slowly dissolving in it.

ooc: Do I know how to make a scary situation or what?
