[Noon]

Atticus swings Fragarach through the thick sticky webbing, clearing himself a path through it and opening up a wide open area; in order to keep himself from getting stuck. Once a good sized area is cleared, he kicks off his sandles and rubs his feet against the rocky ground, drawing energy from the earth; and preparing himself for the inevitable ambush from the spider.

"Come, show yourself Shelob!"

No sound was heard as the brutally strong vibrations in the web awoke Shelob from her sleep. Silently she crept to the place the vibrations came from, to find a human-looking creature standing up straight in a challenging manner. It was looking in the opposite direction, and could therefore not see as she crept closer, aiming at him with her venomous mandibles.

[Noon]

Atticus had been watching the webbing in front of himself closely, waiting for it to move in the slightest. As he watches, he sees it bounce twice; and he immediately spins around, swinging Fragarach around in a high guard, catching Shelob's mandibles just before they strike down into his shoulder. Taking a side-step and back, he pulls Fragarach free; allowing it to drag across the mandibles and hopefully cut deep.

If only it was so easy, Shelob throws herself back with a horrid cry coming out of her throat, not liking the sight of steel. The blade does hit her, but the hard bone material, that her oversized mandibles are made of, does not let the injury be anything more than a scratch. Her eyes shine with fury as she once again sends a blow after him, aiming for his left shoulder this time.

[Noon]

Atticus draws energy from the earth, increasing his speed and reflexes, and continues his spin away from the spider; just managing to dodge her mandibles. The spin had moved him back, and close to the center of the circle. Facing toward Shelob, he again calls out to the local elementals for help; and smiles as they respond.

Atticus stomps his foot twice, and directly above the arachnid two large heavy stalactites fall down toward her back.

She hears the sound of stones coming towards her and crawls over to the left. Unfortunately one of the rocks hits one of her long, hairy spider legs, forcing a terrifying cry out of her. Filled with rage, Shelob throws herself at Atticus, aiming her venomous mandibles at his head, determined to kill him.
