Hey guys, this is going to be my first topic on this forum. I have been in role plays on other sites but this is going to be my first on this site. So if I am doing anything wrong then just tell me and I will fix it

It started as a normal day, birds chirping, kids playing, people living their lives. That day would mark the dawn of a new threat that America would have never seen coming… the undead.

The whole incident happened in Manhattan New York. That day the president of the United States was to make a speech on a new bill that was going to help our economy. Little did he know that a terrorist group was forming a new chemical that would make the dead rise. The leading scientist of the group was from Russia and a pro communist, and he hated America with all his heart. He was paid to make a drug that would give the terrorists super human capabilities. When finished the Scientist found that two minutes after taking it, the patient would go into cardiac arrest and die. At first the man was outraged by his results until he found what happened in the next five minutes. When trying to dispose of the body they found that the corpse came to life and tried to kill the men. They quickly detained the infected and studied it; turn that if it bit another human then they would turn into these beasts. The group took captives and used the drug on them and nine out of ten of the captives would turn into these monsters, the others would be unaffected and shot after the two minutes. The Scientist made an airborne strain of the drug and placed it into pressurized jars.

The terrorist’s plans were to release the drugs airborne substance into New York when the president was making the speech. They used an old submarine to enter the island and release the infection. The Terrorists that entered the city placed the Jars in random locations and got out before the timers on them would go off.

Like that the timer went to zero, and the gas spreader all through the city. It wouldn’t be long before people would become one of the undead….

Appearance: 6' 2", 200 lbs. Shaved head with intense green eyes. Faint scar traveling from his chin to his ear on the right side.

Clothing: White Button-up Shirt and Blue jeans.

Bio: Jim Daily was born and raised in rural Pennsylvania by his farmer parents. They taught him values of honesty and decency that would come to influence him strongly later in life. Jim was all set to follow in his parents footsteps and take over the family farm, but after a his dad hit a rock with the lawnmower, firing it across his face like a bullet, Jim had a revelations. While recovering in the hospital after a grueling procedure to put 39 stitches along his jawline, he was inspired by the surgeons who had put his face back together. He pledged to his parents he wanted to take his good grades to college and become a doctor. They loved their son enough to let him go. Jim was excepted into NYU with a good scholarship that was supplemented by his work as a cook and waiter. With the day off class and work, he traveled to watch the President's speech, not knowing what would become of that day.

Bio: Born to two hippies turned artist and mechanic in the "wonderful world" of NYC, DJ was taught great morale values and respect for all things. Her mother taut her how to be a wonderful artist while her father taut her how to work on cars and see whats wrong on the inside as well as the outside. As she grew up and lived by herself, DJ had a run-in with a thug that let her deeply tramautized. So from that day own she has been taking tie quon do lessons and shes carries a knife with her at all times. As she was running through Central Park, she remembered that today was the day the President was going to speak. She made her way across town loving life as it was right now.

Clothing: Standard US Army gear, ACU pattern camo, MOPP 4 Gear (http://www.armchairgeneral.com/images/articles/heroes/mopp4.jpg) (due to suspected biological weapons attack)

TBio: Run of the mill US Army recruit stationed in Fort Drum near where the incident took place and has been such for almost 2 years now. Part of the military response to the suspected chemical weapons attack, called in after hazy reports of a gas attack and civilians being killed before contact was lost, he assists other forces in establishing a base of operations near ground zero (although we'll just have to see how well the base stands against the Zeds; google "Battle of Yonkers" for some speculation). He grew up locally to a military family, so enlisting into the military was almost a certainty for him. Scott has strong values of loyalty and duty (although sometimes his courage wavers) and believes strongly that the United States can handle almost any situation.

Now I was hoping to approach this RP from a different angle, perhaps joining in very soon after the initial infection as part of the military response; approaching in a convoy of some sort. Now I'm British so I won't say my knowledge of the U.S military is anywhere near perfect but I'd like to think I could represent them in a convincing manner. Is this an acceptable sheet? I know the situation is a bit odd, but I can assure you this isn't a "I don't want to bother with survival, I'm just gonna pick the army dude and shoot everyone" style character, if any of you have read World War Z then you'll know the effectiveness of a US Army soldier in MOPP 4 against a horde of zombies.

Unfortunately I made the assumption that the virus is only transmitted locally from the gas attack, and disperses after the immediate area (say everyone watching the speech). I also assume that these will be the traditional shambling zombies instead of the run really quickly Dawn of the Dead remake style.

If you could clear up those last 2 and let me know whether the sheet is fitting for the RP that would be great -peace-

yes your character is good for this type of Rp.

For the zombies, they ae mixed. For example if your character is just roaming around looking for shelter the zombies will be walking forwards as if they were intoxicated humans. If your character is shooting the whole street being a modern day rambo then the zombies will be more alerted and move and attack faster

Appearance:Short for his age, standing only at about 5'6", but not exactly stringy, either. He has well-corded muscle from a tough life and moths of rigorous MMA conditioning. Jansen excels at a number of martial arts, but spends near as much time at the range shooting away his problems. Jansen has sharp, angled features noting his Native American ancestry. He has a network of bruises and scars

Bio:Jansen was born to no prospects in the foster care system. He had a hard childhood, as shown by the various bruises, knife scars, and even bullet-wounds that trace across his body. Jansen now works as a daytime bartender and a nighttime MMA fighter, using his street knowledge to make enough money for the next months rent.

When the terrorist attack occurred, Jansen was jogging through central park in his morning regimen, just before heading to work at the bar.

Bio: Delta lives the average life--stay-at-home mom with 2 kids, a dog, and a work-a-holic husband. Her passion in life comes from gardening, especially working the soil with her bare hands. She spends most mornings in the park walking Jasper, her 7 year old spaniel.
On the day in question, Delta was in the park waiting for the president's speech to commence. Her husband was at work, the twin children staying at a friend's house for cake and ice cream. Jasper sat impatiently at her side, watching a squirrel run up and down a tree.

Bio: John was a military man once he turned eighteen years old and joined the Green Berets. He served with them for three years after passing Candidate School and earned much distinction due to his surgical efficiency and unflappable calm under pressure and stress. The NSA was very interested in John's capabilities, so they offered him a job, which John took.

He sacrificed the simplicity of combat for the complex and dark world of national security behind closed doors. On top of his impressive combat prowess, John learned how to sustain torture and detect when someone is lying via certain shifts in the body. He also learned a great deal of stealth and infiltration as well as free-running and advanced combat.

While on an extended leave at home, John reunited with and married his high-school sweetheart. Three weeks after the wedding John was called away for a top security risk mission in Europe. John worked with a squad of Black Ops operatives for most of his missions.... until the NSA deemed him weaponized enough to send him in on missions alone.

John was bumped up to the top of the NSA's international operations network, Third Echelon. There, John learned to become a cold, calculating predator for the government. He would be kept from his wife months at a time while he kept the United States safe from halfway across the world. His job made John miss the most important day of his life: the birth of his daughter.

When he returned home for leave, his daughter was already learning to walk and talk. When she first saw him, she cried. His eyes and face had become hard and cold due to his work, keeping his expressions warm was something he was not entirely used to. Grace was what John's wife had named their daughter.

National Security turned out to be keeping John away from what really mattered more than he had ever expected. He tried to plea for more time at home, but he was constantly denied. That was the price at being one of the best of the best of the best.

At the age of 36, John officially resigned from Third Echelon and the NSA so that he could spend more time with his family. Life at home was something he had a hard time adjusting to. John had forgotten how good his wife could cook, he had forgotten how sweet his daughter's laugh was. John never lost the soldier and the killer and the predator in him, but he did learn to conceal it with the warmth and happiness he got from being with his family. They were everything to him. He discovered something about himself; his family was the only thing that really humanized him and kept him from doing God-knows-what.

On the day of the incident, John was out for his morning run in central park while his wife took Grace to school.

Misc: John suffers from severe PTSD.
Grace is 10 years old.

Bio: Alex was always a rebel, his parents were drunkies that always kept him down at what he wanted to do. When he was nineteen he ran from home and joined the marines. He got his combat training and became a corpral for his succes in it to. When america went to invade iraq Alex was there. When his team was ambushed and most of the orginal fifteen soldiers died and ony five were left Alex took command and got them out of the shits storm and was awarded with a medal of honor.

After three more tours in iraq and iran he was discharged and went to manhttan to live his life. Only mounths after leaving and he was bored as hell. Alex became a stuntman on his own terms, meaning that he ran a underground site and did ileagal stunts but it was worth it.

When the attack occured Alex was walking along the street and forgot about the whole speech

I have a plan all set out - it is so complicated that it includes half of my mates from college who are all prepared to go at the declaration of a state of emergency to a designated and secluded meet-up point. The plan then proceeds with the transit of various supplies and amenities to a "safe house" (basically a farm house of a mate of mine which is sealed off by a high stone wall, has several animal pens and a garden plot). Following this, we proceed to take supplies from the local area and a nearby city - avoiding any semblence of Government, Police or Military. Last thing I want is to get evacuated to a "secure" location only to be trapped when an infection breaks out.

The odd thing is the majority of those that survive the apocalypse will be the odd/weird/crazy individuals who have already planned for such an occasion. Mentioning that, I also have a plan in the event of nuclear attack and the subsequent 2-3 week fallout.

I have a lot of different zombie evac plans. It depends on the scenerio-- mostly places to meet up with fellow zombie fans.

I recommend giving it a thought or two, last thing I want is to see a mushroom cloud in the distance and think "Maybe I should have prepared a bit better..." and watch my hair start to fall out. Sure some people think I'm paranoid, but I'd like to think that my paranoia will serve me good someday ;)

On the bright side, something as simple as a waterproof coat, trousers, gloves, wellies and duct-tape can give you a fairly decent radiation suit, as the major danger with nuclear fallout is shortwave alpha radiation contained in nuclear dust particles after the initial detonation. Provided you avoid contact with this for two weeks, the majority of the dust has either settled or the half-life has reduced the radiation levels to a tolerable standard.

Oh yeah, colloqualisms always get the better of me, sorry :D As for the face, that's pretty much up to you how you want to protect that. Personally I just have a heavy duty builder's mask from some DIY I did a while back, then all that remains is some goggles or eye protection and you're pretty much sorted from the worst of the stuff. Of course if you happen to have a gas mask then that's just perfect ;)

Well, its max brooks, who knows nothing about firearms, so that's a point off already. He has a section about how you should use diving gear to head under the water and "Fish For Zombies" hooking them with a speargun and dragging them up so they can be popped with a 12 Gauge.

He thinks that the .22 Round will magically ricochet around the skull of the person it hits, destroying the brain, when oftentimes the round won't even PENETRATE the skull, and if it does that it will dump all of its velocity within the first inch of penetration and stop.

He also talks as if he has TESTED his method on living zombies, which is just bullshit. Sentences like "It has been proven that all animal life avoids Zombies through natural instinct".

He also thinks that the best place to go for survival is A JAIL. A GODDAMN JAIL!!! First of all, there will likely be dangerous inmates, and due to how close inmates live to each other, If ANY inmate contracts the virus, chances are by time you show up the entire place will be overrun.

He refers to magazines for firearms as "Clips". Its just a pet peeve shared by myself and anyone who actually knows shit about guns in real life.

His complaints about the .223 are pointless, given the only thing that makes it a bad round for combat is the fact that it tends to OVER-penetrate, when the ONE thing you want in a gun for killin' zombies is skull penetration.

That's totally besides the point though. Max Brooks is first and foremost a comedian. He came and talked in my town and I went to see him. He obviously doesn't take this stuff seriously. He does it for the geekdom if I had to guess. Obviously he made up the animals run from zombies, it's fiction after all. The gun complaints are probably valid, though, I wouldn't know.

Bio: At a very young age, Natalie's parents and teachers noticed her potential. She was born from a family that bred knowledge. Her father, Steve, was an FBI agent and her mother, Nora, worked with NASA. Her older brother, Nathan, hoped to be an engineer. However, one day her parents disappeared. Both of them. She was only 14 when this happened. Only a year went by before her brother could take the responsibility of taking care of his sister. Now 18, Nathan left his teenage sister to fend for herself.

Going from foster care to foster care, she still seemed intent on keeping a high education. Losing her parents was also a reason she chose her career as a Forensic Anthropologist. It was at 24 Natalie was ranked at the top within her specialty. She would study the bones of the ancient and sometimes present. She can tell the age and sex by looking at the remains for only a moment. She has been asked all the time to help with murders by the FBI and the government.

While doing her work, in her free time she wrote a book. A well written murder mystery based on her life that she called the Bone Effect. The success of her book made her life quite comfortable. One day when she was around 28, an FBI agent called her for assistance with remains that were found buried on Long Island. After taking them to her lab, the remains were of a woman in her early forties and time of death was 15 years ago. After checking dental records, the bones were of her now deceased mother. Her father remained missing though. This was a huge shock for Natalie, because she now had some reason for her parents disappearance.

At 30, Natalie's father appeared at her front door. It seems the government had kept him in hiding from dangerous people and had to separate himself from Natalie and her brother to keep them safe. Her response was logical in understanding, but ultimately confused because of his sudden appearance. The FBI had finally caught the man who killed her mother and the man who ordered him to, so Steve could return to his daughter. He returned to the FBI, but still had a struggling relationship with Natalie.

Now, she continues her work with identifying ancient bones and those who are murdered. Natalie has a more logical approach to things and may not understand most jokes. Her intelligence is quite useful in many situations. At the moment of the attack, Natalie was driving to work, intrigued by a specimen that appeared dated back to the time humans first began.

There are a LOT of Bones fans on here. I watch it, because I watch just about every crime show. Its pretty good, though after the millionth time bones and Booth don't just say "To hell with it" and get together, the emotional aspect no longer seems to have purpose.

PS:Who else thought that they should have at least just kissed in the damn season finale. I'll bet 20 Bucks that their going to open the next season with *another* old case being revitalized and only the team being able to solve it. Sometimes the show is just a BIT too repetitive.

Jansen: If they were to get together, the show would end. Most series become vague once the two main characters get together. I do wish they at least kissed though, it would have been a nice way to end it, but I know for sure that the next season after being away from each other for a year they will for sure get it on.
