Of Human Saints


Basic Story
4XXX AD.

Earth is now a wasteland from the use of WMDs and have been forced to find an alternative home. Man set their eyes on the moon and now, it’s holding 40% of the population in an artificial Terre-forming project named: Yggdrasil. The Earths Moon is now renamed Yggdrasil from the project and is marked as the last sanctuary of human kind. But three things stand in its peace. The unknown threat of soon Alien invasion, The radical and jealous civilians remaining on the dying planet Earth, and the Weapons that protect Yggdrasil from Earth attacks; The Valkyrie Mech-Suits.

Valkyrie Suits are incredibly powerful weapons. Although the downside is that only 2% of Yggdrasil’s population can use them thus, making them a very limited weapon that cannot be completely relied upon to protect Yggdrasil forever. Earth Forces are also have their own mech suits as well called Ghosts. Although weaker than Valkyrie suits, these Ghost suits have two major advantages, one is that they are more acceptable than the Valkyrie and that they are hard to detect due to sensory reflection.

Now there is a threat of war. The Pro-Earth Terrorist Group called Bio-nation is attacking the shuttle transport effectively damaging both factions current diplomatic ties. And without either sides awareness, another force, threatening the survival of mankind, The Alien Armada; Ragnarok.


The Mechs!
Valkyrie Mech

Most powerful of the two main mechs, containing a Valkyrium Core as a power-source is is
able to last longer in battle and able to be heavily armed. Valkyrie were designed to
protect Yggdrasil and not for assaults making the suit slower in speed but still equal in
reaction than other suits. The Valkyrie weaponry is primarily energy-type weapons and
Reaction Metal. The skeleton is durable and sturdy allowing more weight sacrificing speed.
With the discovery of Valkyrie on the moon, it excelled in supplying energy for Yggdrasil
and its protective measures. Only problem, only few can handle the mental effects limiting
Valkyrie numbers Yggdrasils mech.

Some are known to be in earth Federation control from both scavenging and those who changed sides from the well known corruption in Yggdrasil.

Ghost Mech

Weaker of the two main mechs, but with a skilled enough pilot the Ghost can defeat a
Valkyrie in combat. Designed for assaults and the offensive, Ghosts are faster and more
maneuverable than the Valkyrie. The Ghost was named after its Detection Reflectors which are
it's most basic function in combat and in assaults and its most infamous weapon Dubbed the
"Phantom" by the Yggdrasil Defense Corp. The real name being called the Refraction Signature
Device or RSD for short. It produces a shield that refracts light making aiming difficult.
Using Solar or High level proton generators and on very rare times; nuclear cores.

Unable to carry the weight that the Valkyrie can, it is able to hold 1 heavy weapon in some
cases two, 3 mediums with two lights. Or five light weapons. Earth Forces mech.
Ones equipped with nuclear cores are forbidden in most countries due to
their high rate of meltdown. With such a high risks there are greater benefits. Many Ghost
pilots have changed sides in hope of piloting a Valkyrie but finding out they were not
trusted well enough to pilot one.

Secret Three Mechs of Secretness

Created from both the makings of the Valkyrie's designs and the Ghosts maneuverability. A
secret organization based in the opposite side of the world from Yggdrasil, an unknown
agenda and heavy support from both Earth Federation and Uncorrupted Yggdrasil officials in
secret.A radical discovery allows it to manipulate weight and is considered to those who
know, as the three most powerful weapons ever designed. Each being more powerful than the
other two suits. Only one known pilot has been discovered to be capable to the suits.

The Valkyrium Core

The Element Valkyrium was discovered when man had settled on the moon. It was a huge discovery. It had ¾ the energy output of nuclear power and was also as clean as solar energy. Unfortunately, due to war with angry Earth citizens, the Element was put into mobile generators and inserted into various weapons as a means to protect themselves. This had led to the creation of the first Valkyrie appropriately called : Adam; the first of its kind and man was its god.

Weapons of the Era

In the current Era, Nuclear weaponry is forbidden and destroyed as quickly as possible.

There are five Types of weapons; Energy, Shell, Remote, Reactive Metal and Ballistic.

ENERGY WEAPONS
The main arsenal of the Valkyrie Mechs. Able to hold as much ammunition as there is power remaining in the Power-source. These weapons are versatile, powerful, and best of all reliable. Unfortunately these weapons are not effective in hiding positions and is rarely used in Quiet isolated missions and Reconnaissance. Energy weapons can be customized and come in all weights: Light, medium, and heavy.

Energy weapons come in the form of:


Blades (Swords, Spears, axes, Etc.) (most Blades are light, exception of Reactive weapons)
Light Weapons (Handguns, Blades, Light Machine Guns)
Medium Weapons (Sniper rifles, Assault Rifles, Machine Guns)
Heavy Weapons (Ballistics, Heavy Machine Guns, Cannons)
Traps/Support (EMP, Mines, Nets, Sonar)
Remote (Special)


SHELL Weapons

Shell Weapons, although simple, have great destructive capabilities. Not as powerful as damaging. The weapons that do use bullets are often used for reconnaissance and attacks to hide the wielders position. Missiles are the most powerful and weakest of shell type weapons. A single missile can destroy a target, but can be shot down or redirected easily making the missile a liability. Limited with Ammo supply, it puts no strain on energy supply and effectively allows longer activity.

Shell Weapons come in the form of:



Light Weapons (Handguns, Light Machine Guns)
Medium Weapons (Sniper rifles, Assault Rifles, Machine Guns)
Heavy Weapons (Ballistics, Heavy Machine Guns, Cannons)
Traps/Support (Mines, Bombs)
Remote (Special)


Remote Weapons

Remote weapons. These weapons are as difficult to control as they are useful in combat and defense. Controlled by the pilot using special frequencies and commands from the Mech-suit, remote weapons only have five uses:



Shielding
Assisted Attacks
Decoy
Detection
Trap Setups



Reactive Metal Weapons

Reactive Metal Weapons are solid, incredibly durable, and heavy. The most noting feature is its effect on shields. Reactive Metal, when in contact with shields, negate their protective effects making shield users vulnerable to direct attack allowing greater damage. Reactive Metal comes from the Blooded Isles, which have been refined to not effect the wielder by demagnification. Reactive Metal can have electricity coursing through for extra effects or even as a remote trap to create a Danger Zone perfect for ambushing.

Remote (One use per battle)

Ballistic Weapons

Powerful, destructive, and effective. Warheads designed to take out targets in fiery fashion. Although easy to counter, these weapons still have concussive force, shrapnel, and splash damages. Many different Missiles exist. Mostly equipped on the shoulders. Missile types:



Swarm (Overcome weaknesses with numbers. Weak individually)
Detonate (Remote explosions that effect numbers rather than individuals
Warhead (Most powerful missile. Best used carefully)
Payload (Payloads can be anything from signature decoy, EMP, Reactive Metal shrapnel, smoke, and heat signatures)
Remote Traps (Make an area into a Death Trap with little to no escape if in the center.)



Important Locations:

The Shattered Line: Also known as Styx. It is the warzone area between Earth and Yggdrasil. (Zero-gravity combat)


The Warred States: 250km pieces of land on Earth controlled between both Yggdrasil and Earth Federation. Inside them is a space launch strip transporting supplies not available to Yggdrasil and also for new citizens accepted into Yggdrasil. (Gravitational combat)

Angels Refuge: The base of Valkyrie, This includes operations, hangar, training center, and barracks.

War Vault: The base of Ghosts, This includes operations, hangar, and barracks.

Blooded Isles: Strange Islands that effect power-sources rendering both Ghosts and Valkyries in a weakened state.


Factions

Yggdrasil: The new nation and also the codename of the successful Terra-forming project of the moon. Guarded by Seraphim Mech-suits, it is the last sanctuary of man.

Earth Federation: Earth, now a warzone and wasteland. Filled to the brim with a jealous and frightened population, people believe they all have right into Yggdrasil.

? : A still secret organization. Only known from a few that they are producing "Salvation"

Personality: Short tempered and offensive, a bad mix. He ultimately puts the protection of Yggdrasil over himself. Beyond that, in his personal life and freetime he is a simple guy.

Biography: Captain of Group 8 of Yggdrasil Defense Corp. Gaining his position with his Mech "Fisher" which he took on as his Nickname. Very skillful in head to head combat and ambushes, he prefers a team of skillful remote users over Heavily equipped suits. Uses Valkyrie Mechs. He enjoy's fishing in the Arificial Lake in Yggdrasil.

Designed to bait enemies into traps and ambushes as if he was fishing. Has yet to see its defeat. Many other Valkyries have been designed like him, but no one can match up to Gent Price's level of multiple Remote Control.

Personality: Emotionally unstable and very radical. Loves singing but is terrible at it. She has a personal grudge against Gent Price for killing her Fiancé.

Biography: The tragic love story of a girl in love with a military man. Four days before her wedding day, her Fiancé was killed in an ambush orchestrated by the Infamous Gent Price; The Fisherman. As Earthlings called him.

Her intense sorrow made her completely emotionless and she entered the military as a high risk pilot scoring the highest in record and being rewarded with, ironically, her Fiancé’s Ghost. She is the most feared and skilled ghost pilots defeating 153 Valkyries, swiftly becoming the Earth Federation’s War Hero and most Infamous with the Yggdrasil forces due to her Eerie singing when she fights.

Personality: Travis' mind is in a fragile balance between sane, and insane. The mental reprogramming that was done on him altered various chemical balances, and electrical signals that allow the human brain to function in different ways. He tends to go absolutely insane whenever he begins to feel sad, then when he's angry, he has an odd peace to himself. Finally when he's happy, he becomes increasingly angry, and violent to himself, and others granted they are worthy of his aggression. For someone who's insane, he seems to have a remarkable amount of sense when his temper flares.

This odd one eighty mentality forces him to constantly be searching for a fight, and or some outlet to cause himself pain in order for him to function. He cannot accept peace for a prolonged amount of time for it is something that he is not familiar with, and like everything in the natural order of life... he tries to find his place, or he creates his place. Needless to say, Travis unnerves almost everyone around him, but for those who're as aware as him, they would begin to understand that they are in no immediate danger...

Biography: Travis is the result of the military mind blending with the scientific mind. He was a test for the Earth Federation in the hopes to create a emotionless soldier who could serve above, and beyond the requirements of the common soldier. There was only one problem.... it worked.

Travis lost the connection between his sanity... well he seemingly cashed it in for a timeshare. They made his fears, his strengths, and made his strengths, his callings in life. The once gentle boy from a small village in Europe was now a being of nightmares.

With his sanity watered down beneath mental barriers, his emotions were given free range, and what resulted was a massive explosion, followed with the deaths of countless civilians, and military personnel as Travis escaped from the complex, and boarded a shuttle.

Travis found his way to an underground structure on Yggdrasil where he came upon the Templar Valkyrie, and was immediately captured after having started the suit, and initiating it's flight sequence. The governing body at the time, managed to place a large metal collar on him in order to send electrical pulses into his body as a means to control him, and ultimately came to the agreement of having the man join their combat forces as he showed remarkable aptitude for it.

Now if they can only get him to stop ripping enemy pilots from their mechs, and painting his mech with their bodies...

Personality: Best way to describe Gus is "A big mean teddy bear," he'll tear your head off one moment and be the warmest guy in Yggdrasil the next (Depends on how much vodka's in his system at the time). In combat Gus has a slightly immature feel to him but he'll never let you down, unless he's dead first.

Biography: Gus grew up wanting to be a Valkyrie pilot, he studied everything he could about them, Tactics, Weapon load outs, Armor placement, all in preparation for the test. He passed by an extremely narrow margin but he Gus was a Valkyrie pilot nonetheless. For the past 8 years he has defended Yggdrasil with all of his strength and he has never looked back.

Personality: Tough and positive personality. He always sees the bright side of things even though everything in reality is difficult. He isn’t straightforward and when he explains things it normally doesn’t sound right. Intelligence wise he isn’t smart, but his battle sense is one of a kind.

Biography: Born on Earth and raised in the slums of the now dead New York which is in one of the Warred Territories. He was accustomed to being in danger of dying at any moment when he was a child and constantly fought in his youth.

Soon in he was drafted into the E.F army and was discovered to be a talented pilot in his first day on field by the E.F elite; Jennifer Gunther who was watching over the battle. She personally decided that he would be put into her training regimen and make him into another Earth Federation hero and pawn (he doesn’t know this) to kill or weaken Gent Price for her own revenge.

Alex had become one of the best under Jennifer’s guidance and training and was always beside her when she was to be sortie’d on the field. Jennifers words are his laws, and he must always obey them. He is in love with her, but he knows that she will never return his feelings due to her past.

Mech History: A new ghost model. Designed for protection than for stealth, the Guardian was built solely on the protection of Jennifer and her Sheth. Combat wise, it is a heavy close quarters using hand combat and designed to disarm and forcefully eject pilots than kill them.

Personality: Calculated and rather cold, but likable enough to be useful in a group.

Biography: Krath is unable to remember anything before 3 years agowhen he was discovered, half dead, in the wastelands of earth. He was brought back to the Earth Federation HQ and rehabilitated over a period of months, receiving multiple prosthetic pieces to replace three of his fingers, a lung, and later eye implants to allow for quick processing of visual data (wich caused his irises to turn red). Since his recovery Krath has proven himself to be one of the Federation's ace pilots, and good enough to be chosen to pilot Romulus, one of a pair of twin prototype mechs.

Mech History: Even though Romulus is a prototype it is very nearly ready for production. It primarily attacks using lightening quick strikes that pack a punch, but can go toe-to-toe with other medium/light mechs in sustained combat.

Mech History: Once owned by one of the Yggdrasil Defense Corp's Aces, as well as Neil's father, Jonathan Anders. lockon has been in service of Yggdrasil for years as well as Jonathan, however, a year ago, Neil's father was killed by the "Siren" as lockon was sliced in two. however, lockon was salvaged after the battle and was repaired and upgraded on request of it's former owner's son, who would take his father's place and avenge him.

I'll join up it looks like fun.

Suggestion though, if you're naming one faction "Yggdrasil" you should name their mechs Valkyries, you know just to keep with the theme. Or rename the faction Eden, it's not a big thing it would just fit more, know what I'm saying?

:D Great Idea, I was actually having trouble coming up with a name other than Ghosts. You sir helped me out. Big time. Too bad Eden wouldn't be a good name choice for a reason, I don't see how Eden could be a good choice for Earth, But I know where I can use it ;) Now I can progress the story I have so far.

Ok so we're going for Yggdrasil and Valkyries on one side, and Earth and Ghosts on the other. Sounds good to me, so long as we keep the numbers of the special mechs reasonable.

^^ Yep. The special mechs are very limited. Basicly if there are enough players, I might add one more, but they have a very important role in the storyh. My RP is story driven. Not just combat.

Also, I'm iffy with the name Valkyries. Unless more people like Valkaries better then I'll do so. I just think the name Seraphim sounds more conceited in power.

I'd only use Valkyies because it fits with the Norse thing you have with Yggdrasil, but I'm sorta OCD about that sorta thing so it might just be me.

Thank you for asking, the Aliens are exactly where I'm stuck at. I know where they go Storywise. Also, I plan that when they do arrive Players can play as them if they want to join the RP. Robot Designs I prefer them to be human shaped. If you explain in your mech Bio, you can make it look like anything. But I really prefer an Image Discription.


The Aliens Mechs (or maybe they are fighter ships. Who knows.) are called Locusts and when They appear, two players will "Die".

Question: How big are the mechs? Are talking like building sized or just like exoskeleton sized?

Changed the name of Seraphim to Valkyrie. sounded better after thinkin about it.

Not much more changes. The alien information won't be appearing until before they arrive. This will prevent major spoilers and waiting issues for players that want to play the Aliens and exterminate helpless human beings. Just Sayin'.

Personality: Travis' mind is in a fragile balance between sane, and insane. The mental reprogramming that was done on him altered various chemical balances, and electrical signals that allow the human brain to function in different ways. He tends to go absolutely insane whenever he begins to feel sad, then when he's angry, he has an odd peace to himself. Finally when he's happy, he becomes increasingly angry, and violent to himself, and others granted they are worthy of his aggression. For someone who's insane, he seems to have a remarkable amount of sense when his temper flares.

This odd one eighty mentality forces him to constantly be searching for a fight, and or some outlet to cause himself pain in order for him to function. He cannot accept peace for a prolonged amount of time for it is something that he is not familiar with, and like everything in the natural order of life... he tries to find his place, or he creates his place. Needless to say, Travis unnerves almost everyone around him, but for those who're as aware as him, they would begin to understand that they are in no immediate danger...

Biography: Travis is the result of the military mind blending with the scientific mind. He was a test for the Earth Federation in the hopes to create a emotionless soldier who could serve above, and beyond the requirements of the common soldier. There was only one problem.... it worked.

Travis lost the connection between his sanity... well he seemingly cashed it in for a timeshare. They made his fears, his strengths, and made his strengths, his callings in life. The once gentle boy from a small village in Europe was now a being of nightmares.

With his sanity watered down beneath mental barriers, his emotions were given free range, and what resulted was a massive explosion, followed with the deaths of countless civilians, and military personnel as Travis escaped from the complex, and boarded a shuttle.

Travis found his way to an underground structure on Yggdrasil where he came upon the Templar Valkyrie, and was immediately captured after having started the suit, and initiating it's flight sequence. The governing body at the time, managed to place a large metal collar on him in order to send electrical pulses into his body as a means to control him, and ultimately came to the agreement of having the man join their combat forces as he showed remarkable aptitude for it.

Now if they can only get him to stop ripping enemy pilots from their mechs, and painting his mech with their bodies...

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral.


Mech

Mech Name: Templar

Mech History: The Templar was a model of Mech that was discovered on a remote dig out in the dunes of the moon's sands. It was found buried, and was excavated in order to refurbish the unit, and repair damage done to it by neglect out in the wastes.

From what can be gathered by initial studies, the Templar seems to be primarly focused on getting up close and personal with each, and every target it finds. The frame is extremely heavy allowing for it to take quite a bit of punishment, at the cost of speed.

The combat shotgun it carries can easily be identified as one of it's two main weapons. The other being an energy Bastard Sword sized blade that is held against it's left shoulder. It's other two weapons are a very large cannon mounted to it's right arm, which can fold back for two handed use of the preciously mentioned sword, and a large Bunker Buster Missle which can easily be imagine punching through the various walls of a reinforced base.

Needs to say, the Templar looks like he likes to be seen coming, and be seen charging the front lines.

Inside the cockpit, there are various ports that are integrated into the instruments, and no physical controls whatsoever. The pilot of the unit is implanted with various ports on their body which allows the fiber optic cords from the instruments to connect to them very much like a computer. It would appear the Mech is completely controlled with mental impulses.

This kind of control is normally very dangerous as the multiple emotions flowing through the individual's mind can cause the signals flowing between the pilot, and Mech to blend, and crash the system effectively shutting it down.

Travis doesn't have this problem due to the heightened rage his mind forced into once he connects to the Templar. As a result, he is the first pilot to ever control this Mech.

Personality: Best way to describe Gus is "A big mean teddy bear," he'll tear your head off one moment and be the warmest guy in Yggdrasil the next (Depends on how much vodka's in his system at the time). In combat Gus has a slightly immature feel to him but he'll never let you down, unless he's dead first. He's also more then happy to give you a smack upside the head if you need it.

Biography: Gus grew up wanting to be a Valkyrie pilot, he studied everything he could about them, Tactics, Weapon load outs, Armor placement, all in preparation for the test. He passed by an extremely narrow margin but he Gus was a Valkyrie pilot nonetheless. For the past 8 years he has defended Yggdrasil with all of his strength and he has never looked back.

Faction: Yggdrasil

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral (I guess)


Mech

Mech Name: Haku

Mech History: Haku is one of the newest Valkyrie mechs currently in service. Gus's favorite tactic is to use his swarm missiles at their maximum range to distract him enemies so he can get closer without them tearing him to shreads.

Anywho, Episode 1 is all ready. Each episode is typically one or two battle depending on scale. Though This RP may be sent into the Mature Roleplay section. If so, I'll make a request to move it over there. So get your violence on soon. When Sigma is done we'll start ^.^ Having two more guys in the RP would be nice though...

Well to be honest, he doesn't really care about what was done to him. It's not something he comprehends anymore. He's more of an at will kinda person now. He feels like he simply exists, and so he does what comes naturally to his mind. He fights so he can exist. He believes this since he's got nothing to fight for other than the sake of not dieing.

I planned on him being a viscous circle character who will show others how far a person can be pushed before they lose their last grip on sanity.

Basically I've got a roller coaster ready for this guy in the way he begins to be reintegrated into society.

Also, I've updated the Mech History portion of my character's bio.

Mech History: Even though Romulus is a prototype it is very nearly ready for production. It primarily attacks using lightening quick strikes that pack a punch, but can go toe-to-toe with other medium/light mechs in sustained combat.
