The year is 40176. Humanity has long since passed the boundaries of its home solar system. With the invention of the Schaller Warp engine, they have spread across the galaxy like a virus, mechanizing wherever they go. First contact was made in the year 15783, by a small ship of people that called themselves the Eldar. These people had techonology we could only dream of, and they were not willing to share. There was a great war, in which humanity threw all of its forces against these few but mighty denziens. Neither side won. The Eldar nearly wiped us out in the beginning, but foot by foot, we won back our worlds and solar sytems. Finally, the Eldar decided to make peace, and secluded themselves far from the reach, in the Warp itself. We have had many enemies since then, nearly every species we meet is hostile. No one is willing to share the Galaxy. As such, human organizations formed to combat the Alien threat. These where named the United Space Forces of Man. Many millenia after first contact, Man reached his golden age of power, We could control matter itself, and we breifly surpassed even the mightiest of our foes. But, during this 'Golden Age' we made our greatest mistake, We made new life. A descendant of Dr. Schaller, Named Apek, wanted to surpass his forefather in acheivement. He suceeded. He enabled machines to have their own intelligence. He thought he could control life, as many used to. He was wrong. The new intelligence rose up against us, and nearly destroyed us. Now, we know better. We evetually rebuilt as we had against the Eldar, and reclaimed what we lost. This is now the Imperium of Man. And we, the Imperial Guard, are its Iron Fist.
Summary: You are part of a legion of the Imperial Guard, Specifically the 107th scout Legion. You must combat the enemies of Humanity and win glory for your homeworld.
The 107th Travian Scout Legion: Formed on the world of Travi, the latest in a long line of prowd Guard units. The Travian units are famous for taking the most useful scouts and equipment from the units around them. They are a lightweight scout and light-vehicle unit. Essentially, they are a mishmash of different units.
((So, what do you think? Help me out here.))

I'd like to see a bit more information put out there. Such as are we limited to just being a member of the 107th or are we free to be part of other Guard legions? What are the defining characteristics of the 107th scout legion? Specific uniform? Specialty gear?
Those kinda things will help people in deciding if they wanna join or not. I'm sure I will regardless.

Thats the sort of thing I like to hear Atrum. Its debateable however, if you want to be part of this legion.

Also, who are we fighting in this story? Is there going to be a set force we're fighting the whole time or will the scout legion be moving from location to location?
Higurashi

We'll be moving from planet to planet. And hopefully fighting every enemy in the games, series, and books.

Sounds awesome :D (although obviously we'll survive a bit more than regular Guardsmen)

We'd be ment for lighter combat rather than full out fights. Not to say thaat we won't be fighting alot.

Sounds nice, though some more details would be needed when it gets close to launch time like Atrum said.
On a side note I'd be happy to be a consultant on Tyranid behavior... their my favorites and I play them.
Anyways, looks awesome, just be careful because every Warhammer RP I've seen here has died a slow death.

Well I'll just have to make it continually interesting.

It's a great piece of mis-information. The section on warp travel is particularly optimistic :D
Higurashi
05-25-2010, 12:08 AM
Okay.... what is mis-information?
TheDashingRogue
05-25-2010, 12:09 AM
False info, for instance "Tyranids are slow and brittle creatures that are scared by loud noises". The book's filled with them.
Higurashi
05-25-2010, 12:11 AM
Oh no. Not that novel. the war story NovelS I Such as Ciaphas Cain, Space Wolf, and others.
GraftRaven
05-25-2010, 12:12 AM
Yea... that's definitely optimistic at best, even carnifexes can run prettey fast xD
TheDashingRogue

Yeah, it also says the best way to kill a Warboss is to use his large bulk to your advantage, flank him and then kill him with a lasgun bolt to the eye. It's written extremely well for a whole load of propaganda; it also includes various prayers and rites that Guardsmen are meant to repeat in battle.
Oh and according to the section on space travel, if one is sucked out into space then the Guardsman should hold his breath, activate his rescue beacon, swim towards his ship and recite the Litany of the Vacuum.
Higurashi
05-25-2010, 12:21 AM
Omg... thats total bull. The ship would move to fast and you would likely die from decompression.
TheDashingRogue
05-25-2010, 12:53 AM
Yeah, but your average Guardsman doesnt know, or need to know, that ;)

I'd still like to know what kind of enemy we plan on fighting in this story.
Higurashi
05-26-2010, 07:32 PM
As scouts, we will be deployed in a number of worlds. If we suceed on one we will go to the next one. Our first opponents will be made up of orks, as they are the least threatening of our enemies. WHile the last will either be the Traitor Legion, or the Necrons.
Atrum Daemon
05-26-2010, 09:37 PM
Sounds good.
