They found themselves within a small, quarantined chamber surrounded by water, transparent glasses for walls preventing the currents and streams from bursting and flowing forth into the cold void for a room that was their chosen arena.

Looking up they saw something hovering above their heads, a figure shaped by beauty and light, its beating wings illuminating and banishing the darkness that covered their eyes with a blanket of a mysterious, terrible and a dreadful night.

Was it an angel?

They had little time to worry about whatever it was, deciding to use the small window of an opportunity this light brought forth to look around themselves and study their opponents and their surrounding, which was a huge water tank and they were at its core.

The angel then closed her eyes, bringing her hands together and slowly gathering energy within the palms of her joined hands.

Beams of light shoot forth, hitting the glass and creating a small crack, allowing the water to slowly penetrate and fill the site.

With the snap of her fingers another glassy wall appeared above their heads, sealing them completely within a cage of glass surrounded by edgy water that wished to claim their arena for their own.

Still flying above them the angel chuckled, "You are given time of grace before more water will pierce into this void. I promise that I shall rescue only one, and that one must do his best to impress me", and with that she raised her hands, "Begin", she ordered.

Welcome to the arena of water. This battle shall last 5 posts, so remember, this time you need to use your skills to plan your moves rather than just storm in and try to just kill each other.

Each of you will be given three posts before the water will raise to the level of your waists. (I'll step in with post and mention this after each of you had three posts).

Try not to break the glass before that. ;)

The battle will end after you have each posted 5 times. You will have 72 hours from the time of your opponents post to get your post in.

At the toss of a coin max shadow goes first.

Max looked around, more for effect than necessity, and took in his surroundings. Noting the crack and otherwise empty space. With a small smirk he drew one of his swords without removing it's sheath, tapping it against the wall lightly.

"Well. Seems we're in a bit of trouble. Well, lets hope this is interesting. Here's hoping we're not back where i came from."

He dashed forward after a moment, letting his opponent take in the surroundings a bit more, not that there's much to take in unless you're scared of water.

This is a strange place to have a battle what strangeness is behind this? The Protector thought studying the angel, his opponent, and the leaking arena. His mind was calm and clear planning out his attacks and readying counters. He couldn't tell a lot by just looking at the lizardman he was meant to fight by it's build it looked agile and a lizard's tongue is a useful tool though if he remembered right they don't have the best hearing at least the normal ones he knew didn't maybe this creature was different but unless he knew different he'd stick with what he knew about lizards and use that to his advantage. Avoid Fire attacks, since if this lizard is cold blooded the heat may make it more active, deflect what ever sword strikes it may have, assume the blades have some kind of magical properties and use ice spells to slow it down if needed, and try not to use any Atronachs unless absolutely needed maybe use the leaky water to enhance ice and lightning spells.

The lizard man charged forward and the Knight drew his four foot long magical sword and readied his magical shield. Taking off at a jog he circled his opponent trying to get a feel for what it might be capable of.
"We best make this quick lizardman." He said in his flat voice.

Max kept running at the knight, flicking his sword in the direction of his opponent and sending the sheath flying at him, hoping to make him block using the shield. With a quick shift of his weight he launched himself through the air with a fierce downward slash aiming at the joints of his Armour, trusting Lith to draw blood.

A split second of terror went through Max at the attack fell slightly short, quickly recovering by flipping, tossing Lith into one of his 'hand-like' feet and bringing it down again for an 'on target' attack

At the ready The Protector deflected the lizardman's first attack or he would've had his enemy not flipped out of range and grabbed it with one of his "feet" and attacked. Hmming to himself he held his shield above his head and took the down swinging sword strike on the curved front of the shield but he wasn't done quickly crouching down he tilted the edge of his shield up and stepped in slashing up aiming to either cut the lizard's foot off at the shin entirely or at least making him drop the sword so he can fling it away disarming his opponent.

With a quiet curse max shifted sword hand again, trying to toss Lith to his other foot and move his leg out of the way by pushing off the knights shield, but ending up with Lith knocked half way across the arena mid-transition. He quickly pulled Genth free and landing for half a second before launching forward, Genth's dangerous tip aimed for the knights chest plate, knowing that no metal armor could take the hit undamaged.

The speed of his opponent impressed the Eons old being but his attacks were rudimentary at least so far it is. He deflected the lizard man's long blade with his own by spinning his left foot back and shifting his body and knocking the deadly blade up but it didn't get him off free the sword skittered off his shoulder armor leaving a long scar that seemed to ooze some kind of poison back peddling from the lizard man he quickly held his armor under the leaking crack washing the poison off tilting his body so it wouldn't drip onto his chainmail. The poison flowed harmlessly off but not without leaving a huge scar down the soft silver colored metal.

Readying himself again he looked at the lizard nodding.
"Impressive lizardman, that would've been greatly damaging if this was man-made metal armor. Lets continue shall we?" Taking off at a sprint The Protector closed the distance between them and changed the sword into a silver four foot long war hammer. Putting his whole body weight behind the attack he ducked down and swung the heavy weapon at his enemie's left knee if it connected the attack would cripple that leg and make this an easy fight.

Max nodded, his vision getting clearer as the rising water created slightly more shadows. He jumped back to avoid the hammer, the water slowing him down a little to much as he caught the hit on his shin, breaking the bone in more than a few places. Gritting his teeth and suppressing the urge to scream in pain he landed in a hand-stand to keep weight off his leg, quickly launching himself back into the air and throwing Genth.

The blade shifted form in mid air and seemed to slice the water as it drove itself towards the knight, damaging the floor of the tank as it went. Max threw a second sword as well, Knightscar hilting itself in the floor directly in the center of the room. "almost time" Max whispered as he landed on his good leg, quickly diving and vanishing beneath the now faster rising water.

Water now covering your legs, slowing down your movements.

Each of you will be given three posts before the water will raise to the level of your waists. (I'll step in with post and mention this after each of you had three posts).

Since max made 4 posts instead of 3 before this event happened, Siksta is allowed to have another post unaffected.

Once you both reached 5 posts (1 more for max and 2 for Siksta) the battle will stop and I will step in to judge you.

The Knight smirked under his helm as he heard the bones in the lizard man's shin break from the hammer blow, but the smile quickly changed to a slight snarl as his springy opponent bounded away and threw out two sword one changing shape into some kind of H shaped thing and the other being planted firmly in the arena's floor. While the planted blade gave him a good idea he had to worry about the rising water and the flying blade coming straight towards him.

With a growl he changed his hammer back into a sword and changed the size of his shield to his body size and slammed the tips into the ground planting himself in the powerfully thrown blade's path. It struck his shield with great force stopping it's momentum but he misjudged the path and stuck his shield more to the right than center and the left spinning blade bypassed the bulk of his defense and slashed through his much thinner chainmail covering his left arm the pain was instant and he could feel the poison already coursing through his veins. He couldn't stop to worry about it or heal it now he only had a small window to end this and the quickly rising water was the perfect tool. Once the poisoned sword fell to the water he climbed onto his shield perching on it like a parrot. His sword was gripped in his left hand and he summoned a crackling white ball in his right the electricity making his skin prickle slightly.
"Good fight lizard man." He said before throwing a bolt of lighting at the surface of the water hopefully sending the full power of the attack to his enemy ending this, his shield was magically enhanced so the lightning wouldn't conduct up it and fry him as well. He shifted the sword to his stronger right hand and waited.

((sorry about the 4th post, i did wait nearly 24 hours before posting though))

Max, oblivious to the electrical attack, started his own ending move. Turning his whole body into a shadow and 'teleporting', ending up upside down with his good leg kicking off the roof, his last sword aimed at the knights helm. "you fight well, but I'm not through living yet!" Dark spots formed on the walls and floor just before five large shadow steel spikes half phased-half sliced through them, one through each wall and one through the floor, all aimed roughly at the knight.

Upon hearing the lizard man's voice above him the Knight dove on reaction down into the rushing water one of the spikes struck his shoulder plate sending him spinning to his back but thanks once again to the magic armor he himself was still kicking but his shoulder plate was ripped off and left hanging on the spike of blackness. He hit the water, time was not in tactic's favor so he spun to his feet and hurled a foot long lance of ice at his opponent's heart.
"May your soul find peace in the embrace of the eternal night." Were the cryptic words he spoke as the lance left his hand.

Writing Style: 2.
Could be done more with more descriptions, but it was pretty decent.
Effectiveness of Combat: 2
Felt like far more description and detailes, including of thoughts of planning, could be brought in here, but it was well played.
Control of the Field: 3
There was much more consistent from Siksta's side for the surrounding and how the battle was handle, including taking interest of his opponent. Not saying that max didn't handle it as best as he could, but there was a bit more of the interaction there, in Siksta's posts.

Effectiveness of Combat: 2
The player played along as was told, being himself and playing as best as it could, but I felt like there was little interest to the environment
Control of the Field: 2
Not much more to add. it was good, but Siksta had it a bit better.

Very tight battle.

But the winner is Siksta.

Thank you both for playing!
