The air was dusty and cold as both the man named Shiko and the women Sieglinde came to their senses. Neither of them having any memories of how they did get to this place or why, every attempt to remember any of the events prior to their awakening seemed futile and was hazy at best.

It appeared that they were in some sort of closed room, not very height but quite wide. Both could clearly notice the many remains of previous battles laying about. Rusted armor, weapons and of course the bones of those that found their end here, whatever this place was, it did look like some sort of battlefield.

Before either of them could do anything a disembodied voice could be heard from all directions.
"Heroic spirits of a plane far from here, you have been called forth to find out which of you will be victorious and shall receive our blessings. Should either of you be the victor of this battle, they will be released and shall return to their plane of existence, touched by our grace."

Sieglinde looked in surprise as the voice had finished its message. What was it talking about? Where were they and who or what had called them? Brushing those questions aside she turned towards the young men. Firmly planting her spear on its hilt she called out:" thou that hast been summoned, reveal thine name, for if it is our fate to battle thineself, then let it be an honorable one."

Shiko examined the room he had found himself in, taking in the myriad of discarded items that lay around him. He tapped a rusted breastplate with his foot, toppling it and revealing an equally rusted longsword beneath. “Maybe if I had time I could find something worthwhile.” he mused. But time was not something he had. He turned to the heavily armoured woman who faced him. His snake arm rose up, pointing directly at her as its mouth opened and hissed. “That’s a nice shield you have their. Intricate design, odd material. Exactly the sort of thing I’m looking for. Perhaps I won’t have to sift through this odd plane to find my treasure.” Curving his snake arm in front of him across his waist and placing his human arm behind his back he gave a mock bow, “I am Shiko Kakagre, Treasure Hunter.” Rising from the bow he simply stood and waited.

With an agreeing nod Sieglinde returned the gesture of courtesy though in a proper manner.
"Well met Shiko Kakagre, we are honored to do battle with thineself, we will make sure to notify thine family of thine honor should thinself be embraced by death today." Not a moment after she spoke those words, she took a battle stance, tightly grabbing her spear, while shielding her side with the buckler mounted on her right arm, seemingly encumbered due to the armor she was wearing. With a powerful cry she slowly charged forward.

“And I’ll make sure to take that shield if you fall.” he replied. He waited for her charge to close in, noting the ice on the tip of the spear, “Seems I’m getting another frosty welcome.” He stepped slightly to the left and let the first of his swords drop. The blades slithered down his arm and pushed the hilt into his hand. Grabbing it his arm came up from underneath the spear and aiming to hit the blade. If it did so it would curl slightly and push the spear away as he continued to dodge to the left. His snake arm would also aim to bite down upon the spear behind the blade and crush the shaft and also push the blade away.

The young men acted exactly as Sieglinde had planned, hot headed but a calculating, this would be an interesting battle but she could clearly see a lack of proper training and experience, which was to be expected at that age. Stopping suddenly, she readjusted herself with a quick sidestep and quickly targeted the spear at the men's leg utilizing her superior range and agility, reaching an almost unhuman level of speed, counting on her honed skills and the moment of surprise. Would the spear hit, she would take two steps back and ready herself for a possible attack.

"You're fast. But I can be faster." Shiko hissed. With a pop he was gone, no longer within range of Sieglinde's attack. Instead he was now 2 metres behind her. "But you're no mach for this I bet." he said, whipping his blade at her and unleashing a thundersnap at her back. With that done he would himself dance forwards and bite at the back of her head with his snake arm.

His mouth proved to be the boys biggest adversary as he directly gave away his position. Thanks to her supreme agility she quickly whirled around and activated her magic shield. In a virbant display of color the magic energy of the men's attack clashed against the invisible force field, being negated in the process. The impact of the attack send her skidding back, but she was prepared to take the impact and so quickly compensated by stepping to the side and forward to keep him in range of her spear. She now faced him with both the buckler and the spear, the latter shooting directly for the now exposed swordarm of the boy. She was certain that this trick of his would not work again so quickly. Would it hit, she again would retreat a few steps to keep dominating the range of the encounter.

As the spear snuck towards his arm the blade in his hand curved backwards into the spear’s path. In addition a second blade slithered down from his shoulder and wrapped around his wrist also blocking the blow. As the knight retreated Shiko retreated as well, working himself out of the range of the lance. “You never know what could be slithering around in these places.” he laughed. The second blade stayed wrapped around his wrist with the blade pointed in the direction of his arm. “Seems I was right about your shield, I’ll definitely be getting that.” As he spoke the blades on his right hand curled and flicked dangerously, making a show of themselves. Without warning his snake mouth opened and shot a ball of lightning at Sieglinde. As soon as it was launched Shiko was moving to his right.

The boy was no novice, but also no master. She started to figure him out, move after move like so many advesaries before him. As he tried to block the spears head she quickly retreated it, leaving the young men to block thin air. As he was standing there taunting, Sieglinde decided to end this farce. Again charging for him, as the snakehead on the men's arm opened its mouth and magical energy started to gather, she stopped pretending to be encumbered and utilizes her real speed. As the lightning bolt was fired it hit nothing but air as the women was not there anymore, but instead had changed her position quickly to attack the mens now exposed snake arm. This would undoubtly surprise him, as he was barely able to keep up with the speed she utilized prior. With her unnatural accuracy and speed she attacked the mens arm seeking to pierce it, should it wound him, she would also attack his leg, but then retreat quickly, keeping up her guard once more.

Luckily for Shiko his first few moves after the attack had already been planned and ready to enact. As such he was moving to the right as Sieglinde’s spear thrust came in. What would have been 2 horrible wounds to his snake arm and leg were reduced to painful scratches, slicing along his snake arm’s inside and the outside of his leg. The spear pated his scales and armour easily, drawing lines of blood before the wounds iced over. However unlike a normal foe this didn’t bother Shiko, he’d faced worse against the ice spectres of the Ekro recently.

However the strike did surprise him, the woman had a speed that should’ve been impossible in her armour. His movement stumbled and he began to fall. However before he could move very far his form shuddered and disappeared. Immediately a green liquid washed through Sieglinde’s position as she retreated, Shiko aiming his teleport along the line of her movement. Shiko himself reappeared behind a pile of rusted equipment, catching himself from his fall and turning to Sieglinde.

The boy barely escaped her attacks, though not without being wounded, she now was certain he couldn't keep it up much longer. As to answer that thought the boy stumbled but disappeared into thin air like before, keeping her shield close to her body she awaited his attack. However the liquid suddenly coming her way in the blink of an eye was a surprise and if not for her shield she probably would have been soaked with the green brew. Splashing against her shield the liquid was stopped but soiled the ground all around her, as if one had thrown a waterskin against a stone wall.

However the movement of the liquid had given away his path and so she quickly whirled around to face the boy who was just turning to face her. Using the momentum from her turn she hurled her spear at him just as he was about to turn, she was certain to hit him this time, the speed and accuracy of the spear would surely catch him off-guard and if it would hit, it would do so in his stomach.

Sieglinde wasn’t the only one to be using her momentum to attack. As Shiko spun he was already launching a thundersnap, but not at her. Instead the blast slammed into the pile of equipment in front of him sending it shooting into the air. A split second later the second sword also launched a thundersnap, sending the airborne equipment towards Sieglinde. A launched gauntlet collided with the spear in midair and slowed it. Its arc was altered enough by the drop in speed that is passed between Shiko’s legs, just missing making him a eunuch. The rest of the items, a collection of daggers, rusted swords and small pieces of armour, continued towards Sieglinde.

As the boy sent the rusted junk towards Sieglinde, he had to realize she already had changed her postion, resulting in the metal pieces to bounce off the ground with loud noises, where she stood a moment ago. Having avoided the projectiles trajectory she was flanking him, suddenly standing next to him, slamming her invisible shield into him and pulling the spear from the ground. Slamming the spears pole against his standing leg to bring the boy down.

If Shiko would dodge, she would simply use the superior range of her spear to hit him, attacking his legs, if not he would be pierced through his left arm all the way towards his right arm.

The extra time added to Sieglinde’s journey to avoid the projectiles allowed Shiko to begin his next action, dropping slightly and shifting his leg to knock the spear away. However he underestimated her speed and was off balance when she came from the side and slammed into him. His pivoted upon his one leg and fell, landing squarely on the centre of the spear and hindering Sieglinde’s attempt to pull it away. As he landed his snake mouth opened, a ball of lightning erupting from the mouth at close range, aimed at Sieglinde’s legs.

The boy had used the time it took her to avoid the projectiles to try to get rid of her spear, but was interrupted by her charge, knocking him over. In a display of wittiness his snake hand fired a lightningbolt at her feet. Regardless of how witty that attack was, the boy was simply out of luck, her shield was still facing him and in a display of flashy colors and sparks, the magical projectile colided with the anti-magic field, pushing her back a little. While being pushed back she grabbed the spear and used the additional momentum to jerk it towards her.

Should the boy decide to avoid being cut open by the spear's blades and barbs and get up, she would simply pick it up and would keep up the pressure.

As the lightning collided with Sieglinde's shield the colourful explosion gave Shiko a chance. Sieglinde would find the spear relented easily, most likely throwing her off balance slightly as is came towards her easily. Instead he had teleported, behind her once again, but this time in the air and slightly to the right. At a 30 degree angle around her shoulder height his snake arm shot forwards, the arm head shooting for her neck aiming to clamp down and inject its venom.

Sieglinde was briefly thrown off balance as the spear returned to her far easier as she had expected. She was using her right arm to regain her balance, but was surprised as something collided with the shield mounted there. The snakehead of the boys arm had punched against the invisible shield, reacting quickly she used the momentum from his attack and whirled around, her spear, again rooted firmly in her hand, was shooting out towards the boy who was still in the air.

Shiko was following through with his second attack, a thundersnap with his sword, when Sieglinde's spear turned into him. Her rotating spear collided with the curving arc of his blade and pushed it backwards. The spear and sword slammed into Shiko's side and pushed him from the air and sent him tumbling to the ground. Luckily for him the sword had blocked the spear's cut and hadn't pierced his armour. After the first tumble he adjusted himself and rolled onto his knees facing Sieglinde. Immediately he dived to his right, a plan forming, as he brought his blades up in front of him in a guard position.

A thundering clash sounded as Shiko's attack was interrupted by her spear, resulting in a magical discharge that caused the boy to be thrown down onto the ground tumbling away from her. Sieglinde, firmly standing on the ground was able to compensate the force by skidding backwards. Her honed skills however allowed her to quickly regain control and she immediately resumed her attack. Sidestepping to her left she maneuvered herself into position to face him from his right, again using her speed and momentum, as well as range to attack his swordarm, stabbing for the ellbow where the armor had to be the most flexible.

Since he was still recovering from his tumble, she hoped to finally hit an opening. Would the attack hit she would immediately return to a defensive position.
