I am looking for just that type of person, on request of High King Ulfric Stormcloak of Skyrim, I will soon be embarking on a long and historic quest to map out the entirety of our world. This venture will require not only experienced Sailors, but ambitious Mercenaries, skilled Healers and expert Craftsmen. All walks of life are welcome and any skillsets will be much appreciated, but you will also be required to listen to the Ship's Officers.

Space will be limited on the Storm Breaker so bring only the essentials and nothing you will be afraid of losing in the event of a bad storm or other misfortune. If you believe you can handle this life meet me in Solitude harbour in the land of Skyrim on Middas the 13th of Midyear, we will celebrate the Mid-Year Celebration in style before departing for the Summerset Isles mapping everything we see along the way. Priests of the Nine Divine will be there to bless our journey and the people of Tamriel will be cheering our names! Be prompt or you will be left behind.

Sincerely
Lord Allester Winterblade

IC is found here and still open. (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=45778&p=1538861&viewfull=1#post1538861)

List of Major Events in This RP So Far:

Before Recent: From Middas on

- Allester sends out his message to the taverns and people come from all around to join up.
- Massive brawl in Solitude (city of initial departure), mainly concerning the First Mate and a stalker-vampire Unknown number of innocents are injured/killed in the ensuing fight.
- Captain Allester busts his captured crew out of prison uses his political leverage (and his fists) to get imprisoned crewmembers released.
- The Storm Breaker sets sail.
- An ungodly (or entirely godly) wind blows the ship off course shortly after departure.
- The Storm Breaker crashes into an island later determined to be Roscrea, a lost isle and home to the last sane colony of Falmer (snow elves).
- The Arch-Curate of the Falmer asks the captain's aid in retrieving a tome from an ancient Nordic barrow in the hopes that it will lead to the cure of the Falmer race. The captain accepts and recruits volunteers from among his ship's crew to clear-out the tomb.
- After a series of hectic skirmishes including a final boss fight with an undead werewolf (the barrow's owner), the expedition emerges triumphant.
- The Storm Breaker departs Roscrea with some new additions and some crew left behind. After a series of stops on less interesting islands, the Storm Breaker finally reached Farrun long weeks behind schedule.

Recent Events: Near the end of Sun's Height.

- After temporarily confining his crew to the ship, the captain meets with the head of the local Fighter's Guild and is persuaded of local troubles.
- More recruting
- Khinada, resident cat-person and bed-mate of Starkad Long-Fang, is beaten to a bloody pulp by child-snatchers in the city.
- Upon his return to the Storm Breaker, the captain does some wool-gathering (involving a lizard and some others) and begins a conference to discuss Farrun's troubles. He effectively proposes that the crew of less than a hundred solve both local corruption and child-snatching.
- Tabitha proposes a plan modeled on the captain's initial schemes.
- The crew completed the mission in the Golden Sparrow, and sent the evidence to the Fighter's Guild.
-Three members of the crew had left.
- Isus the Templar received a message from the Knights of the Dragon, that stated the Knights were in need of help. And sought the Strom Breaker's assistance.
- The crew then set sail for Daggerfall.
- A week later they arrive in the Liliac Bay and are now waiting to make shore.
- Present time.

As of now new players are still restricted to Steel and Leather gear.

The players that have been around since the start though.

The Weapon cap is Stalhrim now, so you can have Stalrim quality and down.

The Heavy Armor cap is Nordic Carved, so you can have Nordic Carved quality and down.

And the Light Armor cap is Scaled so you can have from Scaled quality and down.

Ok people to anyone who has been following the interest thread this is the notice you see that implores you to join in on the voyage to map the vast expanses of Tamriel and the surrounding areas. We will be working under orders of High King Ulfric but that doesn't mean we'll be hunting down Thalmer and destroying their cities, but if they come looking for trouble they will find it our mission is exploration not starting another war. Every kind of character will be welcome as long as you don't plan to do some kind of coup in the name of the Empire or kill all the crew in their sleep for the Dark Brotherhood XD. We're not asking for declaration of loyalties to Ulfric or anything just loyalty to your Captain and crew. As in the games you can choose from the usual races Altmer (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Altmer), Argonian (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Argonian), Bosmer (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Bosmer), Breton (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Breton), Dunmer (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Dunmer), Imperial (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Imperial), Khajiit (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Khajiit), Nord (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Nord), Orc (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Orc), and Redguard (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Redguard).

The links will give you ideas of what that race is generally good at and will help you in building their Primary and Secondary Skills

Description: Almost the exact same build and height as Altmer just a little thicker skin to help ward off the cold.

Location: The Bastion, Roscrea.

Story: The Snow Elves also known as the Falmer or Ice Elves were once a proud race with unusually great aptitude for magic. There skin is coated with a thin layer of blue-white ice. They inhabited Skyrim long before the Nord's returned from Atmora and had their own language which was written in a complex and indecipherable alphabet. The Snow Elves were purported to use spears and archery in combat.

Culture: Little is known of the Snow Elf society, other than that it bears parallels with that of the Altmer. They kept in contact with other elven kingdoms. They developed a complex and nearly indecipherable language. Only a few people in Tamriel can even recognize their alphabet, let alone read it, making it an ideal cipher for anyone with the proper knowledge seeking to encode their writings. They developed their own method of telling time, and magnificent architectural achievements, among other things. The Altmer and Snow Elf pantheons overlap significantly, possibly entirely: both acknowledge Auri-El as the sovereign and venerate Trinimac, Syrabane, Jephre, and Phynaster. They had temples to all of them, though none were as impressive as their Chantry of Auri-El. Their writings reference "Young Ones" and "Old Ones", though precisely how the two groups were distinguished is not known.

Many of the most dedicated Snow Elves once committed themselves to a tireless journey through the massive Chantry of Auri-El, carrying with them the paramount desire to become one with their god, Auri-El. After it was constructed in the mythical Forgotten Vale of western Skyrim, the Chantry quickly became the epicenter of the Snow Elf religion. The retreat was designed for those who wished to become enlightened. Initiates entered the Chantry through a cave representing the absence of enlightenment, and carried a ceremonial ewer to each of the wayshrines, small sites of worship which were scattered throughout the Chantry which were used for both meditation and transportation. Each shrine was tended to by a Prelate, who taught the initiates the mantras they were supposed to recite. After visiting the Wayshrines of Illumination, Learning, Resolution, Radiance, and Sight, and dipping the ewer into the water basin of each, the initiates finally arrived at the Inner Sanctum at the end of their pilgrimage and had an audience with the Arch-Curate, a Snow Elf who communicated directly with Auri-El. The only known Arch-Curate was Vythur brother of Gelebor, who was infected with vampirism by an initiate around the time of the Snow Elves' downfall and spent millennia plotting revenge against Auri-El for allowing this to happen.

Though all set out with the determination to prove their worth, few initiates were prepared for the trials of the Chantry. The pilgrims struggled not only against the natural elements of the treacherous vale the Chantry was built in, but with a myriad of tests upon their faith and loyalty. There was great glory for those who succeeded and great shame and scrutiny for those who did not. But the tales of those who reached the Inner Sanctum are not without their share of woes. It is said upon their arrival that many were mere shells of the person they had once been. Some were quite mad from sleeplessness and starved to the point of frailty. By the end of their journey, the marvel that they had strength yet to carry their vessel and ascend the stairs of the temple was the last true testament of their loyalty. Regardless of each individual's tale, the final words remain eerily similar. It is said that every pilgrim ascended, bathed in light, a look of relief and contentment on their face.

Skill Bonuses

Racial Abilities

Lesser Power: Thick Skin: 75% Resistant to Frost

All RPA Rules (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=56716)and Matrue Section (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=63095) rules apply.
I made this a mature RP for the reason of creative freedom, anything goes for the most part as long as none of the rules are broken
I am the GM and as such I have the last say in issues.
Any issues between players deal with in PMs.
If the problem persists send me both sides and I'll see if I can help.
If I help and it continues ask a mod or get out.
Be active and post at least a paragraph a post.
Ignorance of the rules won't save you if you break them.
Be smart, have fun, and no modding or powerplaying.
Any new RP ideas are welcome just run them by a GM and we'll see about working them out.
Inactivity will be punished by the death of your char.
I am the the only judges of inactivity, when the RP is going well it's a week unless you send us word of your inactivity then we'll pull you along but after two weeks your character will be on the chopping block unless you have a good reason for not being around. And after three weeks they die no matter what.
Avoid using high quality gear I don't want everyone to be super experienced. We'll need story growth plus you don't want to lose your one of a kind Dragonplate armor in a hurricane.
The selection of skills is up to you but using the ones your race is initially skilled in will make things more interesting for you.
Everyone is allowed ONE enchanted or magical weapon if they want it just keep the enchantment sensible.
Same goes for armor at least at the start of the RP.

Name: Mirida. Ishart. (A.K.A. Snowthorn)
Race: Nord.
Age: 31.
Gender: Female.
P.o.B: Skall Village, raised in Dawnstar.
Occupation: First Mate under Lord Allesters command.

Appearance: Mirida is as fare as she appears wild yet her posture is very fast, proud and tall in all her respectable creation.
Her filly red braided hair hangs about to her shoulder with spare bangs covering a little tiny bit of her face when the wind is non. She is fit and a queen on the battle ground, or so she radiates with proportional muscles and an armored chest. Most distinguishable is her Stalhrim blue eye and her scar that runs over her right eye, leaving a visibly blind eye white.

Equipment: A white, shining scale armor with Stalhrim decorations, this gives her a very respectable and represents her for the rank she carries on the very well and outstanding ship. She wears a leather band around her head, keeping most of her hair back.
She carries with her a rapier like sword, forged out of stalhrim and the handle made out of ivory tusk, silver plating adds a hand guard, well suited for someone preferring a swift yet endurable sword. A normal steel bow with a quiver of arrows, a couple of empty bottles, potions, antidotes and poison.

Prime Skills: One Handed and Speech.
Secondary Skills: Bow, Alchemy and Cooking.

Personality: Harsh, rough but incredibly fair. A bit chilly towards most men and worth taking notice of, incredibly anti sexual.

Background: Non of your damned business!

Name: Allester Winterblade
Race: Nord
Age: 55
Gender: male
P.o.B: Windhelm, Skyrim
Occupation: Lord, Adventurer, Captain.

Appearance (pic or description): 6'8, 210lbs, slightly tanned skin, he has earthy brown eyes with two long scars down his left cheek, medium length grayish-red hair with two braids in the front, he has a thick beard and is dressed in a white under-shirt with a heavy brown jacket over it. He's also wearing thick leather pants and black boots, he's always wearing an amulet of Talos and his ring of matrimony.

Equipment(pic of description): He now has suit of silver lined Nordic armor. It still had the overall black and dark brown but weaved throughout the material like the wind blowing snow was pure and brightly shining silver. The boots are higher and were more like greaves, they also have a few small spikes on the knee cap. The gauntlets, like the boots go all the way up his arms to nearly his shoulder and it has three long spikes along the forearm, they're shaped like small scimtar blades. The last addition was the helmet, it had a removable face mask that actually looked like a bear's open mouth with teeth engraved in it.

He also carries a highly tempered and enchanted Nordic Greatsword with Fire and Lightning enchantments he's named Firestorm. An Enhanced Dwarven Crossbow with no bolts right now but he will buy some later. And during times when Firestorm would be unwieldy he carries an unenchanted Stalhirm long sword that he wields with his new Nordic Carved Shield. He also carries a fair number of Healing Potions.

Primary Skills: Two-handed and Smithing
Secondary Skills: Heavy Armor, One-handed, and Block

Personality: Lord Winterblade is an honourable, intelligent, and kind man at least when not in battle then he become as cold and brutal as the blizzards of Eastmarch.

Background: Born in the 4E 151 to the ancient and revered clan Winterblade, Allester made a name for himself early on as an adventurer and explorer. Oft-times running away from his parents home to dive into caves and and ruins looking for treasure and monsters to fight. And despite being armed with a simple Iron Sword given to him by father the young man showed much promise as warrior he even came back victorious from his little excursions from time to time. Coming back with what loot he could carry he was welcomed back as a hero..at least until he got back to Gray Stone Manor where his parents were waiting for him. They were proud of his success but also furious at his continued disobedience.

Despite their constant lecturing Allester's adventures continued until he was 16 then he joined the Legion and adventured across Tamriel discovering his true love of Two-Handed Weapons most specifically the greatsword. He quickly became a renowned warrior and shrewd leader of soldiers making a name himself from province to province. He served honourably and when the Great War rolled around he was one of the first to sign-up to fight the Aldmeri Dominion. He was present in both of the main battles but after the Emperor showed his true colours and signed the White-Gold Concordat giving the Thalmor exactly what they wanted the Legion became a bad taste in his mouth and he left as soon as the chance presented itself. He was 25 at this point and with no major desire to return home right away he felt the urge of the road again and spent the next 20 years of his life wandering Tamriel getting work as a merc, a Fighter's Guildsman, Smith, Sailor, and hero when the times called for it. Even making a Pilgrimage to Bruma where the statue of his great, great, Grandfather was still standing albeit worn and chipped. He had greatly helped the Empire in the Oblivion crisis and his hometown had honoured him with a statue. Roruke Winterblade Hero of Bruma and Warrior for good. 10th of Frost Fall 3E 433. He built a great wealth by the power of his sword arm and the quickness of his wit even buying a home and starting a family in the chilly embrace of Cyrodiil's northern most city, he sent much of his wealth back home to his parents only needing so much to keep his wife Heidi and his daughters Ari and Sonja comfortable. Around the year 196 Allester got word his parents were deathly ill and were asking for him to return home as soon as he could. It had been many years since he'd even thought about Skyrim or his parents but the long quelled feelings bubbled up from his stomach and into his heart. Finishing up his quest for the Fighter's Guild he rushed home to Bruma relating the news to his family before he made his way back to Windhelm to be at his parents' bedside.

He arrived just in time for the Feast of the Dead, the usually solemn day was bitter to the man because his parents died in the final hour of the Feast. Leaving him the sole heir of an immense wealth and the Patriarch of one of Skyrim's most influential and powerful families at the age of 45. He had just sent his parents to Sovengarde and was settling into the life as a wealthy lord even bringing his family from Bruma to live with him when Jarl Ulfric began his Stormcloak Rebellion. While Lord Winterblade(as he was going by now) agreed with the Jarl's views on Talos banning and the Empire being a spineless dog he didn't agree with how Non-Nords were being treated. Many non Nords had proven themselves extremely valuable allies in his past and he just couldn't bring himself to damn all of them for the arrogance of a faction of Altmer. He would join his old friend Brunwulf Free-Winter in defending the Dunmer and Argonians in Windhelm even opening his home to them if they needed his help. While the Jarl and his Stormcloaks disliked this about the old veterans no one could deny their skill and deeds of battle so many of the youngers kept their mouths shut for fear of being trounced by the large men and Ulfric couldn't help but respect them. Five years dragged on and the Civil War ravaged the land, eventually though Ulfric drove the Empire back beyond the borders of Skyrim and spent a year rebuilding the damage and establishing toleration laws thanks to the urging of Lord Winterblade. It took that whole year before peace was restored and Allester could settle down and raise his young daughters to be proper Nord ladies.

Four more years following the final days of the Stormcloak Rebellion, Ulfric was made High King and he began expanding and improving upon anything and everything he could one of these projects involved creating an updated map of Tamriel. He knew of many skilled Sailors he could ask to undertake such a venture but Lord Winterblade had proven himself the most adept and honourable men he knew and all other candidates fell away. Contacting the Lord he arranged to pay for the voyage and give his royal blessing upon the ship and crew. Allester agreed to Captain the voyage on the condition he could allow anyone to join his crew Nord or not. The High King agreed and Lord Winterblade sent out notices to every tavern he could think of and prepared for the journey heading to Solitude to await his new crew.

Are we allowed secondary characters? Because I have a second character I'd like to make if I'm allowed.

Also what are the rules regarding magic weapons?

Name: Shava
Race: Argonian
Age: 25
Gender: Female
P.o.B: Bruma
Occupation: Bounty Hunter.

Appearance (pic or description): Picture (http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2012/215/2/d/axekiller_by_dragonsoul2-d59mz8e.jpg)

Equipment(pic of description): (Armor is seen above) plain leather armor, red studded leather bracers, matching boots custom made to fit her. A matching pair of steel swords (http://www.weaponreplica.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/SPARTACUS-BLOOD-AND-SAND-Spartacus-Arena-Sword-Windlass-Steelcrafts1.jpg)

Prime Skills: one-handed, sneak.
Secondary Skills: Light Armor, lock picking, Alchemy

Personality: Easily riled and often vicious, she greatly enjoys fighting, though can recognize when a less-violent option is best. When not hunting someone is usually friendly, rarely forms lasting relationships but usually friendly enough to lead a group in a drinking song. Has quite a lovely singing voice that most people do not expect.

Background: Born from two old Argonian families that had lived in Anvil since before the Oblivion Crisis, Shava has a great lineage to live up to. Shava's parents, grandparents and great grandparents fought against the Elves in that war, though her parents were still young teenagers. According to her father between them the family killed nearly 300 Aldmeri soldiers, though Shava doubts this a bit. When The Dominion closed in around the Imperial City it was agreed by all that the youngest generation, Shava's parents, would be sent away for a chance to survive. The two were put on a stolen horse and sent speeding North until they reached Bruma.

Though completely ill-equipped for the harsh Northern City, the two worked together and scratched out a decent enough living. After going through so much they decided to marry, and Shava was the fruit of their union. Coming from such a family as her's it was only natural that Shava became a fighter, learning from a young age how to handle weapons of all kinds, but growing particularly fond of swords. In the hands of her tutors Shava became deadly and took to ambushing and stealth like a natural, by the time Shava came of age there was no dire need for Imperial Soldiers but that did not stop her from joining.

While there were few great battles happening The Legion found use for Shava as a hunter, whenever they had a deserter, crime against The Legion, or some similar situation Shava was one of the people they contacted for help. Though she was made to bring more targets in alive rather then dead Shava still became a very experienced hunter and killer, all throughout staying loyal to The Empire. But as the Stormcloak rebellion began escalating Shava saw a lot more action, and lead numerous ambushes against Stormcloak soldiers. Shava was rumored to be one of the best killers in the entire province, but despite all her skill, the Empire still lost. Shava managed to survive however, she was completely cut off from the Empire, but she survived, managing to find a home on the docks of Riften working at a local fishery.

Though she still opposed Ulfric's reign, Shava grew to appreciate at least a few of the Stormcloak Jarls and Lords. When the call came from Lord Winterblade, who had fought quite hard on behalf of her people, Shava felt a good way to show that appreciation would be to go to Solitude to join his crew.

Well I'd say only allowed one since my guy has one I edited it so he only had the one enchanted sword and not everything was enchanted. Just nothing wild like Daedra banishing unless it fits your char. If we don't get a lot of joiners I'm sure secondary chars can be allowed.

And accepted.

The base is good, but if you want her to be good at Frost and Fire you can just lump them into theDestruction School (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Destruction) and free up your second skill spot for Restoration (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Restoration). And the Elder Scrolls would be too powerful to be held by a newbie but you can give her normalScrolls (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Scrolls) to use. And Secondary skills you can do like Alchemy, Cooking and Enchanting if you want.

Nothing is actually wrong with your sheet just trying to help you build a firmer char.

Name: Val Willowheart

Race: Bosmer

Age: 26

Gender: Male

Occupation: Scout, Archer

Appearance (pic or description):

http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs7/i/2005/231/f/4/Tribal_Elf_by_RickOtey.jpg

With a fierce mane of honey brown hair, an vivid green, almost beast like eyes look out at the world with a wild grin always on his youthful face.

Equipment(pic of description):

Val keeps his gear light and easily accessible, wearing only a simple suit of studded leather armor over a plain white shirt, as well as leather pants & boots.

Val wields 3 weapons, a elven bow brought from his home in Valenwood, and a twin set of Ebony war axes. One ax, named Luna, is enchanted with frost magic, while the other ax, Solus is not enchanted. He has 40 normal elven arrows, seeing no need for special ones when all they need to do is kill what he aims at.

Prime Skills: Archery, One Handed
Secondary Skills: Lock picking, Sneak, Light Armor

True to Bosmer fashion, Val has a deep set love for the wilds, finding a almost magical beauty in the wilds of the world. Though Val is a extremely friendly person, this is not to diminish his ferocity in combat. Much like the beasts of his beloved wilds, Val with fight to the death without thought if need be.

I can, I was just seeing it as twin axes with enchantments that were the opposite of each other. I was a concept I've always loved. But I'll change it!

So, many, emoticons.

But yeah The Elder Scrolls are actual super rare artifacts in the Elder Scrolls universe, but they don't really help you with anything, if you're lucky they'll just confuse you, but if you're not (meaning smart enough to actually read them) they'll literally strike you blind, drive you insane, or melt your brain.

Name: Arorn Hester
Race: Altmer
Age: 32
Gender: Male
P.o.B: Summerset Isles
Occupation: “Trader”

Appearance (pic or description): Picture (http://www.carlsguides.com/skyrim/pictures/races/highelf.jpg)
Equipment(pic of description): Arorn wears hooded black mage’s robe and has two small iron dagger tucked in his boot and belt.

Prime Skills: Conjuration and Speech

Secondary Skills: Sneak, Restoration, Illusion

Personality: Arorn is somewhat of a reserved person, preferring to remain in the background then to be in front. He is excellent in conversation if need be, but he won’t go looking for it for fun. He is also puts himself before other. Caring about himself above all, occasionally he will help others, but it is usually when he has helped himself first.

Background: Arorn was born in the Summerset Isles, but was quickly taken away from his homeland when his father was accused of murder of certain Thalmor official. Arorn never learned if he actually did it or not, but after that day, they hopped all over Tamriel, avoiding the Thalmor. The two of them bonded on the rode and became extremely close. They took what jobs they could to survive, and eventually they ended up in the cold land of Skyrim. There, they saw a lot less of the Thalmor. After living in Skyrim for a couple years, Arorn discovered his magical abilities. Most Altmers were known to have magic abilities. Arorn learned what he could but it was little to none. So he packed his bags and joined the College of Winterhold. His father, who had no magical abilities oddly enough, joined him. There he became a fisherman in the nearby town. Although there were some Thalmor there, they didn’t appear to recognize him. There Arorn focused on the school of Conjuration, with some supporting Illusion and Restoration. After years of training and schooling, Arorn became somewhat skilled at Conjuration, mostly the summoning of daedric creatures and necromancy. While Arorn was on the road with his father, he mostly kept to himself and made very little friends. At the college, he was forced to interact with others, increasing speech abilities.

Arorn was forced to left the college abruptly when some traveling Thalmor recognized his father. The Thalmor attacked him on sight and gravely wounded him, Arorn just barely managed to kill the Thalmor before they finished him off. His father died in his arms two minutes later….
Luckily no one was there see him commit his actions of murder, but he still didn’t feel “safe” in the college with the Thalmor in it. So he left and became a traveling trader and entertainer. He would use his magical abilities to do entertain people in traverns and such. He lived a relatively quiet and content life, if not for the killings. Every time he met another Thalmor, he did everything in his power to kill them quietly to avenge his father’s death. He would summon some Daedric creature to assassinate them while, he hid in the background and watched.

After years and years of this life, he came across a flyer for a journey to the Summerset Isles. Living at the Summerset Isles seemed like a perfect opportunity to do some damage to the Thalmor. Arorn signed up without a second thought.

Name: Daimus Morvayn
Race: Dark Elf (Dunmer)
Age: 25 years
Gender: Male
P.o.B: Solstheim (Raven Rock)
Occupation: Blacksmith

Appearance: Daimus is rather built for a Dunmer, something that has come naturally due to his occupation. He has a few minor scars from his apprenticeship to the previous owner of his smithy, but most are covered by his armor. His eyes are red like normal, and his hair is a dark-dark red that is extremely rare for Dunmer. Luckily, it’s dark enough that it appears black in most lightings and distances. He stands at 5’9” and weighs in around 175 pounds.

Equipment: A basic set of Chitin Light Armor, made by his own hand like the rest of his outfit. He has a short sword that he made as his ‘magnum opus’ to become a full-fledged blacksmith, which stands as his greatest creation yet in terms of make, stability, etc. He has yet to enchant it, as he feels that that would soil it. He also carries a basic crossbow and basic bolts, due to its ease-of-use and usefulness. He always keeps an Ancient Nordic Pickaxe on him, just in case.

Primary Skills: Smithing and Destruction
Secondary Skills: One-handed, Speech, and Light Armor

Personality: Daimus is a very proud Dunmer, both of himself and his race. Having grown up on Raven Rock, his own races supremacy was instilled within him at birth, though he keeps it in check when around his fellow crew-members. Daimus is a sly fellow that has no qualms about swindling someone out of as much money as he can, charging just enough above normal prices as to not arouse suspicion. Luckily, his work is actually fair enough in quality to attract customers anyway, so they always get what they pay for (in a fashion).

Background: Daimus grew up as a normal citizen of Raven Rock, a relative of the First Councilor, though not amongst his favored half. He was given into apprenticeship to the local blacksmith at an appropriate age and was taught the ways since then, growing into his trade as was normal. Mallory wasn’t the fondest of teachers, but he knew his trade and Daimus learned quickly. When it became apparent that the young Dunmer was a prodigy in Destruction magic (a talent taught to him by his own family), Glover allowed him to use his talent to help him in his trade; the result was astounding craftsmanship.

Though not the best and greatest, Daimus soon made a name for himself for being a blacksmith who works magic in his forge. Since most Nords and even the local Skall tend to shy from such things, Daimus quickly grew popular for his talents and was soon quite well set up as Glover’s replacement, who took his retirement back to Riften with his brother.

During this time, Daimus apparently had an interaction with the First Mate of the Storm Breaker, a story he refuses to tell. Whatever came of the story, however, apparently left the Dunmer in debt to her. When it came time to call for a crew, Mirida wasted no time calling on Daimus’s services on the Storm Breaker. Though regretfully leaving his trade behind him in Raven Rock, the Dark Elf is a man of his word, and now serves as the ship’s blacksmith, using his magical talent to full effect in place of a full forge and such on board the ship.

Name: Khinada

Race: Khajiit

Age: 28

Gender: Female

P.o.B: She was born in a caravan that was traveling throughout the heart of Skyrim.

Occupation: *cough* theif *cough*

Appearance: http://imageshack.us/a/img62/219/kimbrathekhajiittheelde.jpg
Equipment: She started with simple leather armor that eventually needed replaced to the wear and tear of battle. She also has a travel-worn brown wool cloak that she keeps in her pack unless it gets uncomfortably cold. Her weapons include one steel sword, gifted to her by her father before embarking on her own adventures, and two daggers, an elven one made of moonstone that was won in a game of chance, and one made of glass that was carefully lifted from its original owner back in Riften. As an added bonus, she soon realized that the dagger was imbued with a simple fire enchantment. She also carries fifty lock picks, a small assortment of potions and poisons, most of which she made herself, a satchel full of various alchemy ingredients including moon sugar and two carefully packed bottles of skooma. She also has one flawless diamond (kept as a memento of sorts) that was the first thing she had ever successfully lifted from someone's pocket. New items: An axe given to her by Starkad, a sapphire ring with a pickpocketing enchantment, a full set of studded armor to replace her leather set, two new steel swords, and a set of daggers.

Prime Skills: On Handed (duel wielding to be exact) and Sneaking

Secondary Skills: Lock Picking, Pick Pocketing, and Alchemy

Personality: Khinada has a friendly persona when first met, but she usually uses that friendliness to get others to lower their guard around her so she can watch for any opportunity they might present unawares. She's constantly on the look out for her next big score and because it's become like a second nature to her, she sometimes finds herself picking peoples pockets even when she doesn't necessarily mean to. Though not one to outright lie, she will often times talk in circles to avoid trouble if she finds herself in a jam. She's trustworthy... to a point. She's a little untrusting of other races, but once they prove themselves true, she will stand beside them until the end, even if she might 'borrow' their belongings on occasion. Due to her life in the caravan, she's got quite an insatiable wanderlust and she's always eager for adventure.

Background: Khinada's family was never one to stay in any single place for too long. She was born on the road while her family caravan was en-rout to Dawnstar. That's when her wanderlust started. By the time she could walk, she was exploring the surrounding wilderness or cities further and further away from wherever her caravan would stop. That's how she initially came upon the notice for a crew posted in the Moorside Inn while the caravan was camped outside of Morthal.

“Hope you like the meal, elf.”

Graesin looked up from his place in the corner of his cell and saw the seared meat that had been tossed on the ground, and the skeevers rushing to get it. Quickly breaking the necks of the skeevers, he set to tearing into them rather than eating the meat that had been tossed, knowing it was one of his own kind. Eating the skeever raw, he watched the guard as he smiled at Grae then turned to walk away.

Seizing the chance, he rushed and grabbed the guard by the head, twisting it so that the neck snapped, pulling the body against the bars so that he could reach the key. Taking it, he opened the door and dragged the guard in, pulling on the guard’s clothes, using the helm to disguise his ears. Placing the body in the dark corner where it would take time to be discovered, he opened the cell door and walked out.

Staying silent, he walked past the guards moving at a brisk pace as though he didn’t have time to talk. Walking out the door, he had to restrain himself from running, until one guard called out to him. The moment his eyes met the guard’s, he knew the game was up and his hand struck out, crushing the man’s windpipe before grabbing the sword at the guard’s waist and stripping him of his bow and arrows, turning to see guards rushing to their posts and archers on the walls.

He gripped the sword, and ran.

Years later...

He sat on the rocks overlooking the harbor. The message had stated to be at the Solitude Harbor, on Middas the 13th of Midyear, and so here he was, waiting. His pack was beside him with two sets of clothes and a spare quiver of Nordic arrows. Ice blue eyes stared out, a raven’s feather in the single braid that he wore. Now he just had to wait.

I'd like to remind anyone who puts "Dual-Wielding" that that technically falls under One-Handed (as both weapons you are wielding are, in fact, one-handed weapons). Sorry, as a Elder Scrolls (specifically Oblivion and Skyrim) fanatic, inaccuracy tends to annoy me. Don't mean to subvert your authority, GMs.

Rayne7
06-29-2013, 10:21 PM
Lol, I know it's one-handed, but the problem is that it divides up into many sub-categories/styles. Blades, axes, and maces. Plus dual-wielding is added onto that rather than having it's own skill-tree like Block does. So I decided to specify a bit more on what exactly I'm working with. Sorry if it seemed inaccurate, was actually trying for the opposite.

Jacogos
06-29-2013, 10:28 PM
Nah nah, its fine. I just know that they were asking for the actual skill trees from the game (like they told Tsuki), not general skillsets. I understand that you're using dual wielding (i'd assume so anyway if you're carrying two of the same blade :P). I'm not necessarily getting onto you either; just clarifying on the off chance that someone actually DOESN'T understand that.

I actually enjoy the fact that they put it up in the One-handed tree, though I wish you could do more than just two skills specifically for it.

StormyNyte
06-29-2013, 11:37 PM
I fixed mine, but she does specialize in the duel wielding aspect of the one handed combat

Not trying to overstep my bounds or anything, but I think Moonstone and Glass are probably a bit too high level for starting equipment. I mean he said to avoid high quality gear and both of those are pretty high level materials.

Jacogos
06-30-2013, 01:25 AM
Moonstone is Elven; is there any elven stuff in the group? I believe its third tier light armor, no? I can understand that, though Glass I'd agree with.

Gin and Siksta are never this absent, dafuq?! xD

Lord Tully
06-30-2013, 01:52 AM
Elven is the tier directly beneath Glass, I guess it's more mid-level then high level. But I'll have to wait for Gin or Siksta for any kind of 'official' ruling on whether it's too high or not.

APPROVED!

Elven is the tier directly beneath Glass, I guess it's more mid-level then high level. But I'll have to wait for Gin or Siksta for any kind of 'official' ruling on whether it's too high or not.

AH yes sorry for being so absent but its summer, weekend, I tend to be kind of off, but I was going to visit yesterday, it failed miserably as my friend had a bad internet connect something something. :P

Anyway so yeah, Elven is fine, but it is always okey to decorate with high level material. :P

Aaaaalso, Glass arrows is fine I think, I mean, they are generally looks anyway, but a complete glass bow shouldn't be to fine but decorations of course, :)

It is hard to draw the line and sometimes the differences are a bit vauge until someone is good at something ya know. ;)

Finally, 2 Primary Skills would be the ones you've been greatly trained in, secondary are like a gifted hobby skill, you are not as great as you would be if it was your primary, but you ain't some newbie at it.

The skills not written into these categories wouldn't make you a loser at them either, but playing out that you ain't much of chef etc or a alchemist will be watched over if you get my hint, like POOF! damn another failed potion or you know lacking in speech might get you to pay a bit more than you had figured but it doesn't mean you failed barter, it was just less successful. :P So you know, you ain't a 0 in the other skill sets/trees. :)

I guess that is that, anything else you were wondering about?

Yeah I guess it isn't too OP with glass dagger/s, perhaps you will be extra careful with it then? ;)

Your Captain is on deck! XD

Sorry mates had things to deal with but I am here. And if anyone has questions about what gear is allowed look at my guy for answers, being the Captain and a Lord on top of that he has the best but he also has the cap right now. Now for armor the cap is the Advance Armors of Scaled(Light) and Steel Plate(Heavy). Now that leaves Scaled, Chitin, Elven, Leather, and Hide on the Light Armor side and Steel Plate, Heavy Chitin, Dwarven, Steel and Iron on the Heavy Armor side.

Now weapons are little trickier the weapon cap will be Nordic in quality, but that means nothing can be above Elven in quality since they are equal. I'll let Stormy's glass dagger go since Gin gave his ok on it but no more. This also means you can have Skyforge weapons and Nord Hero ones since they too are equal to Elven.

But no Nordic Armor since it's between Orcish and Ebony in quality.

Orcish weapons are allowed since they're between Iron and Steel in quality but no Orcish armor since it's between Steel Plate and Ebony in quality.

So to sum it all up everything but Orcish, Nordic, Ebony, Glass, Stalhrim, Dragonplate, Dragonscale, and Daedric are allowed in armor right now.

And everything but Ebony, Glass, Stalhrim, Dragonbone, and Daedric are allowed in weapons right now.

Hope this cleared the waters a bit any more questions feel free to ask I'm going to work on the IC now.

Name: Starkad Long-Fang

Race: Nord

Age: 28

Gender: Male

P.o.B: Castle Asahiem (http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bEL51QS3YBQ/UdP4vLQGESI/AAAAAAAAAIk/ekoYWayNk3o/s1600/wyvernRockExt02.png). home of Clan Long-Fang. Found in the mountains North-East of Windhelm.

Occupation: Former Stormcloak, estranged Thane

Appearance(pic or description): Starkad stands at a towering 6’7” and weighs in at 235 pounds with a bodily physique meant for one purpose – to destroy. His hair is flaxen and his eyes are like blue chips of ice from the Throat of the World itself. His skin is crisscrossed with scars from his years fighting the Empire. Around his neck he wears a leather chord adorned with sabercat teeth, a snarling wolf head amulet hanging right below his collarbone. While he can be found mirthful as any young Nord at times, a mask of stony sternness will be found upon Starkad's face as he dwells on his thoughts and broods. Something he has grown accustomed to doing in his fortress of solitude over Dragon's Brigde.

Equipment(pic of description): In combat, Starkad wears banded iron armor, not wanting to risk losing his family armor in the cold sea. For armaments, Starkad will commonly carry a steel greatsword. Strapped to his greatsword sheath is a banded iron shield and a steel war axe. He will use the shield and war axe for situations that require close quarters or defensive strategies.

Out of combat, Starkad wears fur-lined leather garments, essentially what you see in the image.

Prime Skills: Two-handed, Heavy Armor
Secondary Skills: Smithing, Block, One-handed

Personality: Starkad was a shining example of what a true son of Skyrim should be. Strong of body, mind, and will. He was a patriot and a worshipper of Talos, proudly wearing his loyalty to Skyrim on his sleeve. A man of great mirth, he could commonly be seen boasting in the mead halls and taverns. He changed when he befriended a young Khajiit woman by the name of Zah’raji. He matured, tempering his youthful fire. He grew from a boy to a man with Zah’raji by his side, but her sudden disappearance after he proclaimed himself to her struck a primal chord, exposing the young Nord like a nerve. His love for an outlander, a Khajiit, no less, cast an ugly stigma over his name. Hostility from fellow Nords pushed Starkad to the solitary home of his ancestors, making him bitter.

Because of this, he is generally quiet and self-secluding, and will generally assume that no one will approach him without an agenda of their own. Prying into his social and/or romantic life is not advisable, and slandering his romantic involvement with a khajiit woman, or insulting the virtues of said khajiit woman (or khajiit in general) will result in a beating.

Background: Born and raised in the cold halls of Asahiem, under the roof of Clan Long-Fang. Starkad was raised on the base fundamentals of orthodox Skyrim beliefs, the beliefs of the StormCloaks. At thirteen, Starkad signed on to the Stormcloaks. Always a boy of large stock, he was put in a combat position early, feeling the blood of another man between his fingers before he was old enough to even grow a beard. His service only continued after that, but with greater intensity and greater violence. Starkad became intimate with the bleak harshness of his motherland, spending more nights in the cold mud and snow rather than before the blazing hearth.

When he was sixteen, Starkad fought in a folly of a battle, the Battle of Fort Neugrad. It was a one sided battle in the favor of the Imperial forces, three quarters of Starkad’s unit was crushed in the assault, the remainder, including himself, were taken as prisoners of war within the Fort, held for interrogation before getting shipped off to Helgen to meet the headsman. Months passed as hunger and sickness crept into the hearts and minds of those kept behind bars, their wills slowly breaking. Still, even for those who did break and told the Imperials what they wanted, the prisoner was given the courtesy of a clean death, nothing more, but away from the eyes of the other prisoners, so that they could cling to hope. Starkad, in his desperation, turned his eyes from Talos, who seemed deaf to his prayers, and offered prayers to gods much darker. After making his sacrifice of his own blood, as well as the life of one of his broken comrades, the tides began to change.

A young Khajiit woman was thrown in his cell, and while the two of them remained distrusting at first, they realized that they needed to rely on one another to survive and escape. The Khajiit, named Zah’raji, was able to pick the lock on their cell after accumulating the right materials for such a task. Together, they made for their escape, but Zah’raji was fast and nimble, able to sneak and stalk through their surroundings, while the bulky Starkad had little more to do but stumble. Making a ruckus, Starkad attracted a handful of guards, but he had no memory of what happened next. He just remembered waking up, bare-bottom nude, with a too-small coat draped over him, a small fire an arm’s reach away. Zah’raji was stoking the fire, cooking two rabbits on a spit when Starkad awoke, and greeted the Nord with the warmest, slyest smile.

The next morning, the two parted ways, but that would not be the last time these two crossed paths. Upon returning home to Windhelm, Starkad found his family crypt full. Some nasty disease of unknown origin, the alchemist said, but Starkad knew the reason, and he still bears the guilt heavily upon his soul. Taking charge of Long-Fang Hall, Starkad resumed his service to Ulfric Stormcloak as an officer now, commended and decorated for his heroism and courage, to endure so much at the hands of the Imperials. With the influx of orens, Starkad was able to sustain his household and their holdings, as well as drown his sorrows and dull his impulses in mead. Months passed, battles were fought and blood was shed, Starkad’s fair-colored skin becoming leathered and patch-worked with scars. One night, Starkad sat alone in his usual dark corner of the tavern, the stink of mead hanging around him heavily when he felt someone occupy the seat next to him. He knew that voice anywhere. It was Zah’raji. The two of them ended up drinking and talking deep into the night and early into the morning. So it went, every other Fredas, the two would meet at the tavern and share stories. Some nights the two of them would stumble back to Starkad’s home, usually after getting kicked from the tavern by the owners. More than a few times, the two of them awoke in a state of little to no decency.

After nearly a year of this, Starkad, despite bing a true Nord, confessed his feelings to the Khajiit, and while it made her apparently a little uncomfortable, they spent a sober night of passion together. She told him that while he was her favorite, Starkad was not the only man in her life, due to the nature of her work. It hurt, but he understood, and took pride in being the favorite, at least. They let themselves free for a single night, keeping each other warm against the oppressive cold of the far north. In the morning, Starkad remembers a kiss, planted with the upmost tenderness on his lips while he slept, but when he woke up, she was gone, not to be seen for some time.

It has been years since Zha'raji vanished. Uncounted days of sitting in the cold confines of Asahiem with naught to do but stare down upon the world through frosted glass and drink his mead stores. In the midst of his nightly drunken stupor, a courier came to his door and delivered a cryptic letter written in Zha'raji's handwriting. At first glance, it was nothing but a flirtatious letter in Zha'raji's usual tact and fashion, but the more he stared at it, the more certain things started to catch his eye. It was a cry for help, that she was being pursued by a violent past and she was forced to leave Skyrim's shore for her own safety, that she needed sanctuary, and could think of nowhere else to turn.

That was all Starkad needed. By dawn the next morning, Starkad was on his way to Solitude to seek out a capable Captain, a strong ship, and a strong crew, the name, location, and criteria of which were provided by yet another letter sent from an old friend from the war. Starkad knew Zha'raji, and the safest place for her to go until he was able to find her would be to her homeland. By sea, the ship would stop at the Summerset Isles before she continuing to Elswyr's southern shores. Starkad hoped his deduction was not wrong and that the Lord-Captain would remember Starkad from the war and take him on board.

I canonically support the Empire, as I've played both sides of it. I just don't like Ulfric or what he stands for, not to mention what happens to Whiterun when you're a Stormcloak, which is my down-pat my favorite city.

The thalmor I enjoy talking to just to get them to attack me so I can legally murder their faces ^.^ Same with anyone with a prisoner, I'll free him just to get some murder on. Played as Dark Brotherhood and the Thieves Guild on my main character, got 100 sneak before I was halfway through the Brotherhood (played through TG first). Also became a Vampire on him, which boosts that much more. Which obviously led me to choose Vamp Lord for Dawnguard.

Then I have two or three other characters, an Axe/Shield Orc Werewolf Stormcloak on the Dawnguard side, then a Bosmer Archmage (Empire). I believe I had her turn Vampire only when she went into the Soul Cairne, though.

So yeah, that's my spiel xD Anyone else wanna talk about their people? :D

Other than the werewolf and racism thing, my character is a Stormcloak poster boy. Like, the Steve Rogers of Stormcloaks. Whiterun was a necessary sacrifice to liberate the people of Skyrim. The Empire has rotted from the inside due to the Thalmor puppeteering and their sickness was infecting Skyrim, too.

I also have a Khajiit sniper-assassin. Bow and arrow stealth coup de grace of peace.

Strangely enough, even though I've nearly always used a bow primarily I always played a Nord until recently, when I decided to go to the race that best suited my style. But then, my tactics are thus: turn them into porcupines (shoot them from afar), then into mince-meat (then cut down the survivors with my swords). The only magic I ever use is Illusion and Alteration. Illusion to amplify my stealth, and alteration to use candlelight to look for my arrows if I miraculously missed (play it enough, and you'll be more surprised when you miss rather than hit).

That being said, I go ahead and do all the groups: The Companions (yes, become a werewolf just to start with), Thieves Guild (Favorite group as my characters are avid worshippers of Nocturnal, even my assassins, hint hint), The Dark Brotherhood, Vampires Side of the Dawnguard Quest, and Imperial Legion. I always do the DB quests before the civil war though so that I don't break my oath by killing the emperor.

And when I originally chose between stormcloaks and imperials, my judgement was in fact based on principal: freedom of religion, or a lack of racism. The reason I picked Imperial was because you can always worship in secret, the people of Skyrim can't choose their race (Though you can :P ).

Name:Isus Makarus
Race: Imperial
Age: 29
Gender: M
P.o.B: Morrowind
Occupation: Templar

Appearance: Isus is a man of great muscle and broad shoulders. He stands almost 1.7 meters and is thickly built. In spite of his time being usually spent in travel under the hot sun Isus has only a pale tan as he rarely removes his armor.

Equipment: Isus was blessed with an Imperial Templar Cuirass. He also wears Wraithguard as his right gauntlet. His helmet is an Imperial Steel Helmet. The remainder of his armor is Imperial Templar Armor as is fitting to his station though he has removed the protruding elements such as on the pauldrons. Beneath the armor are undergarments. He carries with him dried meats and other supplies as well as salves for wounds. He uses common, but well-kept steel sword and steel spear. He also carries a whetstone as well as other weapon-and-armor maintenance and repair items, spare clothes, and 2,000 gold.

Prime Skills: One Handed, Heavy Armor
Secondary Skills: Restoration, Alteration, Destruction

Personality: Isus is generally quiet. However, this is more because he has learned not to say when he doesn't like something than that he has nothing to say. And he doesn't like a lot of things. A Templar by profession, Isus abhors most Daedra and their dark gods. He will typically only hold back from immediately striking down Daedra worshipers if they repent of their wicked ways and agree to furnish him with the location of their depraved brethren so he might purge them. Isus also is extremely xenophobic due to a troubled childhood and his less-than-savory experience with non-humans. This hatred extends to virtually all non-humans though he harbors a deep respect for the mystical residents of Akivar. Isus is very much a man trying to destroy the deamons of his past. When not in combat he will try to avoid thinking about the fate of his family and banish the thoughts with magic.

Fate's Bloody Hand
Isus was born as a son of a traveling merchant in Morrowind. One of many children, he learned quickly that sticking together as a group and maintaining loyalty to those who earn it was the only way to survive in those harsh lands. The times were tough. The Argonian occupation of Morrowind placed them in a precarious spot. Where the Argonian primarily blamed the Dunmer for their long years of slavery, they also held responsible the Empire for failing to act against it. As citizens of that dying nation, Isus' family earned much ire wherever they went. The constant disrespect from the non-humans of that faraway land first made Isus confused, then scared and finally anger came. It would stay with him for most of his life.

Yet the dangers of non-humans were not the only ones in Morrowind. An untamed land much covered in red dust from the eruption of the Red Mountain in the Red Year, the land was as unforgiving as its inhabitants. One fateful day when traveling through the steep hills of that hellish place a great flock of cliff races descended on the small traveling caravan that Isus' family was with. In the bloody chaos that followed much of his family was injured, his father killed. To make matters worse a dust cloud came. Though it drove away the cliff racers, it also made it impossible to see. Along with others, two of Isus family got lost in the swirling sand and were never found. When it settled only a bare handful of the traveling band remained including Isus' mother. She died from her grit-clogged wounds before they could reach the next settlement.

There was no reprieve for Isus though. The settlement was a small one, mostly filled with displaced Bosmer and Dunmer. The tension of their arrival would later turn violent as the elves sought to drive the traveling band out in the dead of night. Tired, scared, and with nowhere to go many of the traveling band fought until they died. What had started as a movement to drive the humans away became a bloodbath. Isus watched this from a nearby hill with what remained of his family - two of his sisters. As the residents of the settlement picked through the bloody remains of the traveling band, he led them away in the darkness.

The residents of the settlement pursued the children the next day. Isus discovered this when one of them fired a bolt that scraped him in the leg when he went to get water from a pool. Though they fled after that, Isus' wound slowed them down and caught Isus and one of his sisters. He fought, but was knocked out. When he came to he was forced to watch them violate his sister and listen to their whispers that they had caught his other sister. Eventually though their fatigue got the better of them and they stopped to rest. Isus managed to break his binds and kill them. When he reached his sister, he saw in her eyes that she could not be saved. When he met his met up with his other sister later he refused to say what had happened.

Ebonheart’s Grace
After many hunger and thirst filled days they finally arrived at safety - Ebonheart. Perhaps the last true refuge for citizens of the Empire in Morrowind, Ebonheart was the only place that Isus could think of when they had originally fled the death of their parents. It had been rebuilt, stronger than ever, after the fall of Vivec by Imperial refugees and the Imperial garrison there. Fortune smiled on the children for once as the residents of the fortress-city gladly helped them in memory of their generous and popular father. The Toras, an Imperial merchant family, took the scared girl and grim boy in and raised them from that day on.

In spite of the kindness shown by the people of Ebonheart, Isus frequently found himself dwelling on the past. What had happened to his family plagued his dreams, causing him nightmares. There was no rest in the daylight either, as any moments of pause in the day only gave him time to reflect on the fate of his parents and siblings. Even as he took heart in the growing happiness of his remaining sister, his thoughts turned increasingly dark.

Noticing this, one of the Ebonheart Garrison took him under his wing. His name was Locus Parentis. He began training the orphaned boy as a soldier for the Empire. Most of Isus’ training in physical skills as well as lessons in duty and honor came from Parentis. He also schooled Isus in bartering, persuasion and other necessary knowledge for a man of the times. He taught Isus how to bear himself with the authority of a proud soldier and how to earn the respect of others. He instructed Isus on being a warrior, a soldier, and a man of justice. He even gave lessons of leading others in battle to Isus.

Just as importantly, he introduced the young boy to Father Matanus in the Temple of the Nine Divines. He was no ordinary priest. He was the priest primarily responsible for the upholding of faith in the Ebonheart Garrison as well as advising the Garrison on magical matters and overseeing the mages who defended the fort and city. The man taught Isus magic to distract him from the past and often preformed spells to quell the dark dreams that he had. Under his care, Isus’ understanding of the world of magic was magnified past that of most others. Such would prove invaluable in the future, but it was his lessons in the Nine that most captivated the imaginations of the youth. In time, he would seek greater understanding of the gods and become a devoted worshipper of the Aedra.

Under their combined efforts, Isus became, if not happier, more at peace with the past. He also gained a reputation as a skilled battle mage.

In the meantime, the world had fallen to chaos. The Red Mountain had exploded because of the fall of Vivec’s great rock. The Empire was in shambles. The Aldmeri Dominion had taken great swaths of the southern provinces. The Argoninans had taken to raiding what was left of Morrowind. Chaos ruled High Rock where lords battled for control. Dark sects in the worship of the demonic Daedra had sprung up across Tamriel.

As time passed and his early years slipped away, Isus came to the realization that both gave him skill and Father Matanus finally gave him a purpose. He would choose to use what he had been blessed with by the gods to return the favor. He would choose to right the world that they had created. He would choose the path of the Templar.

He knew that it was not to be an easy one. Both of his mentors warned him of this. But Isus was determined. He could do what others could not because they had not what he did. By then, the Templars were a scarce order. It was rare for their ornate and mighty armor to be seen in the streets of cities and provinces. To Isus, this was a sign that too many had lost faith. He would restore it. Seeing that he was not to be persuaded to other paths, Father Matanus agreed to induct the rites to make him a Templar on the condition that he remained in Ebonheart until he came of age. Isus agreed.

Isus would spend the remainder of his youth in the city, learning from his mentors. On the day after his sister's wedding to a wealthy merchant, Isus decided that it was time to go. Sharing a tearful farewell with her, it occurred to him how close they had become after the ordeals they had gone through together. The parting was more upsetting than he thought it would be. His mentors both approved of his leaving though Father Matanus warned him to keep his thoughts pure and holy. They gave him supplies to make the journey as well as weapons. Father Matanus, in respect to his chosen path, surprised him with Imperial Templar Armor. It had not seen daylight in many years, not since its former owner had perished in the service of the gods. Its repair was part of the reason that he had bid Isus remain a little longer after choosing his path. It was to be the first time that he had left and traveled any great distance from the city since he arrived years before.

Wandering Years
Isus would spend several years traveling from settlement to settlement in the province of Morrowind and beyond, helping those citizens of the Empire he could. He would fight many great and terrible things as well as dealing with petty disputes. His travels deepened his faith as he combated Daedra worshipers who seemed to plague the land. He traveled back to the settlement which had seen to the death of the traveling band years before and found it sundered, its residents apparently consumed by cliff racers. It was a fitting dose of justice to his mind.

The Lord’s Mail
His travels eventually took him to the Imperial City. Walking about its wide streets, he went to pay homage to the Eight Divines whose statues still stood Aboretum. The sight of the empty pedestal at the center of the construction filled him with a mixture of deep sadness and righteous rage. He had not yet forgotten his hatred of non-humans. Indeed, his travels had taken him to many a human village plagued by non-humans who were taking advantage of the Empire's weakened state, especially in the wake of the Civil War in Skyrim. He was almost compelled to cut down every non-human he saw at that moment.

Yet fate had other plans for him. As it happened, a group of armed men and women had gathered before the statue of Kynareth, the goddess of elements. When he approached them, they appeared to be argument. A quick glance revealed them to be a motley bunch. Some were garbed in fine armor and clothe while others wore much less. Some appeared to be priests while others could be taken as thieves. Some had the look of mercenaries. Most of all to Isus' mind was that some were men and some were mer and some were neither.

When he introduced himself, the men leading them, a man by the name of Optis, revealed that they were to set out on a quest to retrieve the Lord's Mail. Instantly interested, Isus offered his services. Cypher, the leader of the mer half of the expedition, objected but Optis overruled him. The group was just setting out and Isus joined them. Their first stop was to be the Lord's Mail's last known location: the cave systems near Ebonheart.

Though the mer were adamant that taking on a wandering Templar served no purpose, Isus proved his worth in knowledge and connections early on, earning the band a smooth trip through Ebonheart. His sister and mentors were delighted to see him and hear of his exploits as well as his holy mission, but were less enthusiastic about his choice of company. In spite of the roguish antics some of the members of the band; they managed to leave without any major incidents in the city. After they reached the cave system they were disappointed to find the Lord's Mail gone and only a broken and battered corpse in the cave. The fact that two of their number had drowned trying to reach the hidden cave didn't help matters.

On their return to Ebonheart Isus inquired as to the fate of the armor and Father Matanus invited him to check the guard records. While he did this three of the band were jailed for breaking out in a tavern brawl and one Khajiit was hung as a thief. This left only five men, seven mer, two Argonians, and three Khajiit left including their respective leaders. Eventually, Isus discovered that an unnamed man who had done services for the Imperial Legion as a mercenary had taken the armor off of a fugitive traitor, who had apparently been the corpse in the cave. The trail of the unknown warrior pointed northeast to Vivec.

The search of Vivec proved to be one of the longest and possibly the most dangerous part of the quest. The residents were mostly non-human and offensive towards by man and mer being mostly Argonians. One men and a mer perished from disease or randomly falling rubble in the heavily damaged and under repair city. The mazes of the decaying city confounded the expedition to no end and the ancient libraries proved too great a lure for one of the mer resulting in him abandoning the quest and going mad. The short skirmish to prevent him from accessing forbidden lore saw to his end and the end of another of the expedition's men and a Khajiit. Speaking with the shell-shocked residents in the aftermath, Isus found that the Lord's Mail had already been moved just as he had expected.

The trail pointed the dwindling group first north to Dagon Fel then west to Khuul. From there it led them deep into the lands of Morrowind through abandoned settlements and thriving cities. They searched through the steets of Gnisis, the underbelly of Gnaar Mok, the high towers of Tel Aruhun, and even the haunted towers of Ghostgate. By the time they left Tel Branora for Balmora Isus was quite certain that he had seen more of Morrowind than most people did in their lifetimes. Certainly he thought it something that the additional dead Argonian and Khajiit were discussing in Aetherius.

Arriving in Balmora, Cypher was almost feverish with frustration, convinced that they were at the final resting place of the Lord's Mail at last. Isus wasn't convinced and neither was Optis. This only caused the taunt relations between the two camps of the group to worsen.

The tension eventually snapped when Cypher assaulted a local who was trying to gain a bribe for the information that he held. In a moment the two sides were at each other’s' throats. Isus had no illusions about who's side he was on. The mer had constantly pelted the men with insults about their loss of Morrowind throughout the entire journey. The remaining Argonian and Khajiit joined him in helping the few remaining men. When the dust cleared, only Isus remained, moderately wounded with his cuirass badly damaged.

The local, a Redguard by the name of Potus, was not as inclined to refuse Isus' demand for information after seeing the death dealt out by his blade. He swore on the Nine Divines that he was telling the truth when he pointed Isus to yet another location. Isus vowed that he would return if he was lying.

Potus' directions took Isus south along the roads past Hla Oad and Pelagiad to the rotting buildings of a customs office settlement called Seyda Neen. Walking through the village of decaying wood, Isus wondered at the idea that this was the final resting place of such an artifact as the Lord's Mail. He came at last to a poor, run-down shack tucked away behind the primary trading house. The door was barred, but Isus used his badly damaged sword to cut through the damp wood. The door came apart easily and Isus strode inside.

It was dark in the shack. It was clear that nobody had been living there for a long time. Only the light shining through the door lit its interior. Not even webs were present. On the floor lay a corpse, the rotten flesh long eaten away from the moisture-encrusted bones. But it was not naked. It wore a rune-etched gold guantlet on its right arm. Taking the piece of armor, he realized that it was Wraithguard, an artifact that was legend in Morrowind. They said it belonged to Nerevarine in the days that the drove the false gods from Morrowind. Looking down once more at the corpse, he realized that it was huddled over a pile of more gold than he had ever seen. He wondered briefly how it was that such things ended up in this dismal shack. But then the length of his quest hit him and he decided it was better not to know.

Fate's Charge
Isus would travel back to Ebonheart where he planned to spend the remainder of his life. He figured that he had seen enough for one lifetime. His mentors and sister were more than happy to have him back. The former furnished him with plenty of training and items of intellectual interest while the latter gave him affection and money enough to live well. However, Isus soon found that he couldn't live a quiet life. With his quest complete, his dark dreams returned. Even the slaughter he witnessed - participated in - in Balmorra did not match it in sheer horror. He became restless and temperamental. Eventually he chose to leave again. His mentors gave him fresh equipment where he wanted and his tearful sister gave him money for the journey.

Like before, Isus would wonder for much time before one day fate intervened again. That was the day that he heard about the offer in Solitude. He headed there, fleeing from the dark thoughts that still haunted him.

Lord's Mail is an ancient cuirass of great quality and is dedicated in the worship of Kynareth.
Wraithguard is a Dwemer artifact. It is a guantlet with quite a bit of protective magic against elemental, magic, and physical damage.

And he doesn't say much about hating non-humans and he does work with them. He just doesn't trust them.

I mean, how does it function? Like a shield appearing when certain attacks are directed at the user?

I'd say like a Ward spell, but it's something I'd need to run by Gin to have a final word on. Small destruction spells would be absorbed, medium ones would weaken the shield and powerful ones would take it out straight and you'd get the residual blast. But once more don't quote me on it yet.

@Jacogos
That may be true, but that depends on how you figure it. The game is not necessarily an accurate representation of Skyrim in terms of size, especially when you are talking about populated areas. If you took the game's representation for literal fact, there are less than a handful hundred of people in Skyrim. Given that historical accounts in the game suggest that armies typically are on the order of in the tens of thousands you are suggesting that entire provinces are literally emptied during times of war. Besides being militarily impossible, you still do not account for the vast amount of dwellings that should be abandoned under those circumstances.

Raindrop

Alas the time it would take to go down to the docks would be like an half an hour. :P

Just so there is no confusion: My character is standing at the desk in front of the ship, but as I understand it said desk is currently vacant. If anybody is feeling up to it, he could use some Human Resources help.

SikstaSlathalin
07-07-2013, 04:16 PM
XD Not every soldier has the same mindset as the rest of the army that's mathematics. Lord Winterblade joined the Stormcloaks because the Empire proved to be a bunch of spineless dogs despite the common sense that banning the worship of the People's God would bring about problems.

He's had friends that were Non-Humans so he doesn't see the logic behind hating all of them. As you will all see later.

I have a question, the sheet mentions that Lord Winterblade has daughters, about how old are they? Depending on how old they were while they were in Bruma I was thinking that maybe they knew Shava at some point.

Or does that sound silly?

SikstaSlathalin
07-07-2013, 08:07 PM
Well his eldest daughter is 18 and I pictured Ari to be around 14-16 as of this RP. And at the start of the Stormcloak Rebellion Sonja would be 7 and Ari would be 3. So maybe

Lord Tully
07-07-2013, 08:23 PM
Yeah definitely maybe, they probably wouldn't be childhood friends with a 7 year age difference, but they might have known eachother somewhat. Maybe Winterblade recognizes her name when he looks over the contracts or something?

SikstaSlathalin
07-07-2013, 08:26 PM
Or she asks after his girls and it clicks that this was the same Shava he knew in Bruma. XD

Lol my kitties do the same thing if I eat cheese or popcorn! XD. Siks, quick question before I retype my post from yesterday, when making potions in this rp, is it required to be done at an alchemy lab, or can characters make due with what they've got?

SikstaSlathalin
07-07-2013, 09:46 PM
Well Gin and I decided for high quality potions you'd need a lab but you can make lower quaility ones with the equipment you could get in Oblivion.

Mortar and Pestle: The Mortar and Pestle is the basic apparatus you need to combine two or more ingredients to create a potion; it is the only required apparatus.

One effect of the Mortar and Pestle is to add to your Alchemy skill - anywhere from 2.5 points (Novice equipment) to 25 (Master equipment).
Therefore, improving the quality of your Mortar and Pestle increases the prices of potions (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Alchemy#Prices_of_potions) and causes small increases in the magnitude and duration of all effects of both potions and poisons.

Retort: The Retort increases the magnitude and duration of all positive effects of the potion.

A Retort will typically increase the magnitudes of all positive effects by 5% (Novice equipment) to 50% (Master equipment); durations are increased by 10% (Novice equipment) to 100% (Master equipment).
A Retort never has any effect on a poison, or on the negative effects of a potion.

Calcinator: The Calcinator increases the magnitude and duration of all effects, both positive and negative.

A Calcinator alone typically increases both the magnitude and duration by 3.5% (Novice equipment) to 35% (Master equipment)
If a Calcinator is used in combination with a Retort, the Calcinator will typically increase the magnitude of positive effects by 14% (Novice equipment) to 140% (Master equipment).

Alembic: The purpose of the Alembic is to decrease the magnitude and duration of negative side effects in potions (not in poisons). However, there are some quirks about how Alembics actually work (see Calculating Potion Strengths (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Alchemy#Calculating_Potion_Strengths) for details).

An Alembic is supposed to decrease both the magnitude and duration of negative side effects by 20% (Novice equipment) to 200% (Master equipment).
In reality, a Novice Alembic may increase the magnitude and duration of negative side effects by as much as 15%!
Apprentice and higher quality Alembics will always decrease negative side effects, but the magnitude and duration are never decreased below 1.
An Expert quality Alembic is sufficient to ensure that all negative side effects always have the magnitude and duration of 1; upgrading to a Master quality Alembic causes no further improvement.
Although Alembics are not supposed to, they will typically increase both the magnitude and duration of poisons (this effect is not dependent upon the quality of the Alembic; see Calculating Potion Strengths (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Alchemy#Calculating_Potion_Strengths) for details).
