Introductions

Things seemed strange to everyone on their trek. They were heading to a destination which seemed to be fleeting as they cross vast assortments of grassland. Some marched across dirt, others found themselves traveling between mountains or alongside rivers. It was confusing as the sun seemed to be getting lower and lower in the sky. Some ideas began to fill their minds, ideas of battle and securing of some old ruins. A map entered their mind of the general area though it was a bit old so how accurate it was could be put into question. There were rumors and myths among those around them. The ancient ruins of Lor'Mitalus, a strange name for a place. Lor'mitalus was once known as a place for magic users to gather though this conflicted with the reports of some. This was long before the appearance of the Meragia, apparently the magic within could challenge the gods themselves. The information had only recently gotten out after being lost in various libraries due to how old the fort was. Likely it was but a myth and as such the higher ups of most factions weren't called in. Still, such a prospect was worth investigating and it has been expected that others would attempt to claim the power. Old artwork depicted druids and ancient wizards gathering around a large runic circle. To the South West of the fort those with a clear line of sight could see the flames and smoke of Firanos while their troops marched North East of their position.

The sun was just setting as everyone arrived while the moon in the sky above was full. It cast a great deal of light across the battlefield while making the canyons dark. Off in the distance some could see the ruined structure. Its gates were intact with two of its towers still standing while one had crumbled. Walls were in poor condition with weather alone having taken a large tole. It looked as if someone had tried fix it up with wooden fortifications but those too were damaged by time.

Varis had led the forces of Disgeran on their long march atop his horse. It was a black steed with horns upon its face meaning it was one of the ascended mounts of the Blackguard. Riding alongside him was Totar whom which was second in command for this battle. The Reaper Morticus was also to join them in the battle with Callus leading a portion of their troops. Everyone had their general orders while during their time camping Varis met with Verminathras. The man was flanked with Blackguard acting as protectors of his person, the Demon Ascendant spoke with him. "You need not say anything Warlock as I will make this quick." He slowly walked around the camp site which was empty of the others since the heretics didn't like to spend much time around the rotting man. "I have heard stories coming back of the cowardly Verminathras that doesn't rush into combat, the warlock looking out for his own hide, the man that wishes to stand at the back while others fight for glory." A scaled hand with claws on the ends of its fingers was raised as the man continued. "I'd like to see you in the battle coming prove these stories wrong. I'd like to see you playing a larger role. I need someone who won't just foolishly rush in to their death wasting heretic after heretic which we may need. More importantly I need someone who can aid in keeping our warlocks alive. I'm not as well versed in this magic business as my contemporaries and recognize the role they'll be playing with this ancient circle." Slowly he walked away before stopping and pointing towards the skies above them. "I'll be assigning to you platoon of ascended to work with. Do not stray too far from my plans but make the plays that you will to. Perhaps if we're lucky we'll see little to no resistance and it will be less of a battle and more of a slaughter." The man marched off with his guards letting Verminathras continue his preparations for their movements.

After marching for the latter half of the day finally the Fort was in sight of the Disgeran forces. They had amassed a large force of Heretics and others that felt the power of the Meragia of Chaos. Riding atop his horse the Demon Varis shouted to the men, women, and other creatures of darkness around him. "Disgerans! We march today towards bloodshed, towards the flaying of skin and stealing of souls." Looking across the battlefield it was apparent that others would be arriving, scouts were sent out with some returning. They knew that the other nations had been interested and likely come with armies but their exact placement was beyond them. "Show them the nightmares they hide from during the day, show them the shadows of death that loom over their heads, bring to them the spears, swords, and arrows that will pierce their hearts!" Behind him a large circle had been formed of the warlocks as they chanted and poured their energy together with necromancers starting to animate corpses they had brought along on wagons. "We are not men, we are not women, we aren't human beings." The ground before them rumbled as a tall figure rose from the ground, a creature of pitch black skin with large empty eyes. It seemed to stand at least forty feet tall with a wide face and broad shoulders. Two massive thick legs held it up as the beast slammed fists into its own chest letting out a thundrous roar across the plains. "We are Disgerans, we are the demons and monsters that feed upon the souls of the living!" More demons began to sprout from the ground around the massive colossus while Varis pulled a a waterskin from the side of his horse. It had a human face upon it which seemed to be petrified in terror as blood from within was poured over the back of his head and chest bathing him in it while keeping his eyes clear. "Now is the time for death and let our foes understand that the void calls for them and we will be there to send their screaming souls spiraling into darkness! For Disgeran, for Vasgerax, for Xakh'Raah!" At this command the Heretics, Ascended, Black Guard, Infernals, and every unit of Disgeran began their march forwards. Callus flew above the lines shouting to the troops around Verminathras, "Rend their flesh and treat them like the boils they are of this world. Puncture their hearts and drink their blood!" Totar was oddly silent as he rode among the Blackguard heading for a nearby wooden tower beside a wooden bridge. Morticus seemed to march with the Necromancers and warlocks as they left their summoning sight behind, the ground around it was tainted with grass curling up to die and turn gray. Looking up at the Colossus Verminathras could see the creature slowly walking with the area in front of it clear. It seemed to be moving very slowly while taking large steps that shook the ground. Off to the side a group of Hellhounds were leashed to Ascended archers that took off into the air flying just above the ground with their bows in hand. Callus met with them heading East. The massive bulk of the Disgeran army continued its march towards the bridge and water crossing with Varis staying near the front of their troops currently. They neared to the river and tower with the blackguard trying to enter it. However they were stopped by men in basic iron armor, they had round shields and spears. Varis didn't seem to concern himself with him while something unfortunate happened. A group of warriors arrived wearing chest armor and red uniforms. They bore symbols of the Phoenix reaching the bridge before the Disgeran troops. These men and women rocked through the air to do so trailing fire behind them. After lighting the bridge on fire they quickly began to rocket back before the Disgerans could even arrive. Varis seemed undeterred though, "March through the waters Disgerans! The fools can't burn water so easily!" The very first Heretics now waded through the water with some vanishing and the water becoming stained red. Soon enough he spotted them, tall scaled creatures with heads and no necks. They had long snouts full of razor sharp teeth in rows. In their hands were hooks that they used to tear flesh and hold the Heretics while their dark maws feasted upon them. Each one had inky black skin and emerald eyes that were large and without pupils. Gray rags covered their bodies. Varis along with the Blackguard rushed in upon horse back to clear the creatures out as their black inky blood tainted the water further. With shadows cast around his blade he easily cut through the creatures which couldn't reach him upon his mount. Morticus hobbled forwards with Infernals towards the water with Nightmares flanking him. In the darkness they were only barely visible with their tendrils snaking underneath the water causing these shark men to raise up from underneath howling in fear.

Shiko and Sileo had been marching for some times with the Aeregosian troops while being told the plans for the battle occasionally. They were led by Kun-Yin, a quiet man that seemed to fly above frequently and spend little time among the troops. Him and the Wyrm riders did much of their scouting which led him to believe that they would meet heavy resistance in the area. Finally at about mid day after resting and preparing again they continued on until an island came into sight with a fort beyond it. Talo however had been more hands on with the troops speaking in front of them in groups at times. Shiko had been given a squad of Fencers to back him up, given by Talo whom which felt the man could prove himself in battle. Sileo was also given a squad to lead, spearmen and women of Aeregos. It was like a dream come true to them.

Riding high above for a bit Kun-Yin finally came down from the skies to give a speech to everyone. However as he did this Yon'Zuan seemed to be speaking among the Guardians. The Wyrmborn rider stoop upon the back of his Wyrm as it landed in between their ranks. "Aeregosians, today we make history. Only in the dreams of men could such feats be found as we shall perform today. For the sake of our Queen and for the sake of our homeland we will fight and defeat those who stand between us and the future of Aeregos. Stand stalwart without any hesitation in your blades, in your spears, in your eyes. We shall be the storm upon our enemies and they but water in a river subject to our every push and pull." He raised his spear overhead as many of the men around did as well. "Fight not for your own lives but for the lives of all those we love, fight for the heart of Aeregos!" Saying this the man sat down on his mount as it took off into the air roaring. In the distance another roar sounded to the South of them. The Wyrm Riders and cavalry headed east over the plains with Kun-Yin flying away from them at times to get a bit closer to the fort. Yon'Zuan took the Guardians, Guardian Archers, and Shatterers to the South towards a bridge which looked to be burning down in the distance. Still they marched onward moving quite fast with the Guardian leading them keeping his Nodachi in its sheath. Mai-Zunayn took a small group to the South East, a Tempest and some Fencers. The Tempest was a wild looking man with unkempt long hair and elaborate clothing with shoulder spikes. They were moving towards the island which had bridges leading onto it. Captain Talo headed East at a much slower pace than the Wyrm Riders. He took the main bulk of the army with him moving towards the area between the two mountains. Wind Elementals were at the very front of the army with Wind Callers being kept in the center surrounded by all of their troops. With gleaming swords and spear heads everyone was quick on their feet with ranks of green uniforms moving in unison. Talo was upon a young Wyrm using it as a mount so that he could see over the troops around him though it didn't give him much height.

Shani had marched for a long time with their troops before setting up camp. Gavriel a man she had heard little about was leading her and everything seemed slightly off. However being given part of a day to rest and prepare things seemed to be going well. Scouts were sent out on horseback to survey the area. He seemed to speak in front of them frequently and would tell them tales of his time as a beggar rather than of battles he had seen. Shani was even patted on the shoulder by him as he walked by at some point though she wasn't sure if she even looked at him. The Lady Moriah spent much of her time in camp sleeping before finally mid day they continued their march towards the old fort. Their libraries seemed to hold more information to them than some and the Archeos troops knew that the sea was closely tied to this place. With the existence of the Ekros this caused a great deal of concern among the men and women. Sir Aharon sat upon a white steed during the start of their march but by the end he had given it up to be used by one of their cavalry men meaning he walked just in front of Shani. Simply being near him brought a calmness to her before the possible battle ahead.

Gavriel rode atop a horse wearing his armor and wielding his might hammer. Everyone gathered around awaiting a speech from him while the man finally spoke aloud for all to hear. "You all know what we fight for and who we stand against. Now is not the time for words but a time for battle. For Archeos!" With these few words he rode off with the Archons, Paladins, and Champions following behind him. Priests and the few Saints they had slowly followed behind him as Sir Aharon pointed in the direction of the fort which had only its tip visible above the forest. "Soldiers of Archeos that is our goal. For the sake of those you hold dear and close we will be taking it. Today we do not attempt to make a difference. Today we will change the world for the better. Let history tell your tales!" He started his march with the majority of the army following behind him going towards the forest. The sky was dark though there was light still from the full moon above. To the West and past some sparse trees it looked like fires were being made as beings rocketed through the air towards the North. Omri formed up with the Templar leading them as they slowly stood behind the front line of Archeos. With the Archons leaving their light granted them less vision. Suddenly a light arced across the sky from Gavriel towards the fort though it eventually stopped reaching its limit. Lady Moriah took the entire mounted group of Archeos and headed to the North East ahead of Gavriel riding very quickly to the hills. Their forces were mainly together with men and women marching alongside Shani. She had been given a group of Militia to command, a squad of them to be exact. They marched around her with smiles upon their faces which was somewhat strange before a battle. A loud thunderous roar came out which caused everyone to look to the West. Aharon slowly walked with the men wearing his armor that had moonlight reflecting off of it. Following beside him were the rows of Knights which currently made up their direct front line with Aharon completely leading them. Shadows seemed to loom in the skies while the howls of wolves headed towards the forest.

Tuk walked with the many armor clad men and women of Leongarde as they walked through the valley of twisting walls. At least that was what the troops called it since some claimed that the very terrain changed and become vague though this was complete madness of men without sleep. They had been moving for a long time and many were getting quite tired. Thankfully though the fort was in sight Rasmus allowed everyone extra time to rest in their camps. Through the night and into the day while Captain Kalgar of the Berzerkers seemed to be up early waiting for the battle. Sweat was already dripping from the man's brow as he was far too eager. During this time the Engineers began to construct their Trebuchet, Siege Towers, and battering ram. These weapons of warfare were gathered together with guards around them as they prepared. Finally the time came and a voice shouted to them within their camps. Tuk had been given a squad of Swordsmen to fight alongside her and follower her orders, given by Davvis.

Rasmus stood besides Kalgar, Davvis, and Beripold. All seemed to have their arms folded while wearing their armor being fully prepared. Behind them sat the siege weapons of Leongarde along with the Magesmith that were looking on as men carried chunks of steel up using a pulley system into the Siege Towers. The Warlords stood in front of their leaders shoulder to shoulder. Both would shift their weapons constantly to those that the soldiers around them carried. Mouths of Ko'Rhas stood to their flanks with Tower Knights behind Rasmus and the others. Light reflected off of their massive shields while each of them had their helms removed. Rasmus addressed the army with a booming voice which could be heard by all. "Soldiers of Leongarde we stand on the future eve of our victory. While he isn't with us the Silver King's will stands beside us guiding our every step. Ko'Rhas shall be within our hearts and minds as we capture this fort and show all the might of Leongarde. Glory to the King, glory to Ko'Rhas, and glory to the people of Leongarde!" He raised a sword overhead as some of the soldiers chanted with him. The Berzerkers and Kalgar whooped and hollered while they rushed off to the North West with Musketeers running behind them. They headed towards trees which could be used for cover, continuing on up into the mountain pass. Rasmus stayed behind in the staging area with their healers as footmen also stayed to act as a rear guard. Trebuchets were set up and began to lob large stones overhead towards the walls of the fort with one making contact on the tower and causing a hole in it. The Alchemists worked out of medical tents. Davvis took the majority of their army on a forwards march to the fort itself. Footmen, Shieldguard, everyone seemed to march in a rank and file way that seemed heavily planned ahead. Magesmiths sat inside of Siege Towers shaping Suit-at-Arms within. They moved quite slowly though closer they got with the Warlords and Mouths of Ko'Rhas standing just behind the front line. Being so close to the fort it became possible for them to see brightly colored figures on the walls among men and women wearing old looking iron armor. Seemingly they were gathering on the walls as Trebuchet continued to fire upon them. Sir Beripold road directly North with the Knights and Silver Order. Reaching the canyon they began to skirmish wish Banshees of Scaravus that had erupted out from within and engaged them.

Marching through canyons that seemed tight one moment and as wide as the oceans the Scaravians were getting a bit confused about which direction they were going. Originally they were walking North when their primitive compasses suddenly reversed completely. They arrived in a staging area where they made camp while the Commanders talked over their plans. The Seers could see scouts nearby while against Hashim's wishes they stayed close to their forces without sending out any scouts. Trying their best to not give away their position after making their plans everyone seemed to make preparations while others rested. As soon as the morning had come they moved out.

In'am gathered many of them in their camps as others prepared. "It has been seen by Al'tajin what the future holds. Prophecy dictates that the people of the desert, of Scaravus will be claiming the large magical disturbance to the South and using it to alter the very course of time. Fate will be within our hands as we claim it as we should. No longer will you face the nightmares of war as we shall reach for our dreams and make them reality. Stay patient for time is on our side Scaravians. In the darkness we will move and become one with the night around us. Strike silently and with fatal intent for your enemies will not hold back if they are given the chance to draw another breath. May the shadows cover us well and the moon looked down upon us with favor." All of the seers raised their arms as they looked towards the moon. "It is a good omen for it to be out in such a way showing itself to us. It wishes us to know it too has seen the future and knows the importance of this night. Even it cannot deny curiosity and watch the great victory of the Scaravians." Without seeing any others the Scaravians began to set up their ambush routes. In'am and Abd-al-hamid moved with a portion of the army towards the Southern Mountain Pass. They went between the two mountains leading Hard Shell Warriors, Spearmen, various sorts of Scaravus troops. Raiders and Slayers were left behind at positions to set up ambushes with them waiting in the sun for when night would come. Maram headed west with a group of spiders and spear men along with Taeloron where they set up their ambushes in wait. Hashim rode South East with the Banshees while committing troops to the Dead End Pass near to him. Finally while the sun set everyone prepared after seeing movement in the distance. Hashim began to engage Knights of Leongarde to the South just outside of the Canyon trying to retreat back in towards their positions. Dezeroth led a group of his own that were mostly Spearmen with some Hard Shell Warriors and Taeloron. The Handlers stayed close to him with their whips ready while the massive Scorpions skittered across the ground towards the rear walls. A thunderous roar sounded from the South West. He could see winged beasts in the sky heading towards the North Western Mountain Pass while creatures were visible upon the walls. They were brightly colored with yellows, reds, even pinks. Their heads were quite large with long arms. A sort of shadow was visible in the distance, it was only slightly darker than the night's sky with large white eyes that looked like stars in the distance. It was in the direction of where the roar sounded from. Abd-al-hamid and In'am reached the Southern Mountain Pass as their troops moved up it heading towards the center of it. Davrin was given a squad of spearmen to work with him and follow his orders, given by Abd-al-hamid.

Davrin is tossing his dagger into the air as he waits with the troops in the dead-end canyon. A few men near him look nervous, and he bragged to them how poisonous the blade was. "Must...must you do that, Davrin?" Says one of the spearmen next to him in the ambush party. "Hmm?" He says, nonchalantly. "Tossing that...thing in the air repeatedly. What if you drop it, or it hits someone?" Davrin laughs, catching it one last time, before sheathing it on his belt. "Alright, you damned milksop, it's away. I'm just so bored, I want to kill something."

The same spearman taps Davrin's shoulder again. "Oh, what now?" He says, turning to the man. "Umm, a few of us were wondering....Why is a mage part of this unit, not that we dislike magic, but...aren't you a little close to the fighting." Davrin scowls. "I ain't no mage. Does my backside look a mile wide?" The spearman shifts on his feet. "Uhh....no?" Davrin rolls his eyes. "I'm a sorcerer, there's a difference. I actually know how to throw down. Now, keep your eyes forward."

Seems we will be fighting into the night... Verminathras mused, peering out over the soon-to-be-battlefield with a vague interest. I wonder just how that will affect things... We cannot see as well, but neither can they... Possibilities, possibilities...

Surrounding him and massing mostly behind him, a platoon of Ascended warriors marched with him, set under his command by the Commander, Varis. The once-man's words still rung in his ears, scornful yet nearly inspiring. A coward, am I? I live longer than you all, I have tasted the Spectre's great power, and yet you call me a coward? We shall see about that... The plaguecaster marched forward with his plaguehounds, thoughts bubbling in his mind.

He had been planning on following after the Commander, but the flames of Firanos seemed to have left the army with a bit of a hold-up. What was more concerning, though, was Firanos's apparent plan.

Why burn the bridge...? he wondered to himself, drawing himself up to full height to try and peer at the horizon. From what he remembered and could see, Verminathras was pretty sure that Firanos had even kept themselves from the shortest route to the fort. What were they after?

"No matter... We'll see soon enough," he hissed, nudging his new pet with his staff. Before the battle, Verminathras had spent about ten minutes summoning an imp not unlike the one he had used at the dreaded battle in Leongarde. The reason this one took so much longer was so that Verminathras could switch between seeing from the imp's eyes and his own, giving the little demon a bit more lastability in its usefulness. He also didn't bother charging this one up with plague magic, so it wasn't liable to explode like the last one. The demon squealed with glee that it was now allowed to fly and quickly did so, launching itself from the warlock's shoulder with a prolonged screech. Soon it was quite high up, and Verminathras now allowed himself to share its vision.

Careful to not fly too close to the war balloons, the imp began to get a bird's-eye view of the Fierans and Disgerans area, hopefully telling the warlock just what these damned hot-heads were planning.

Sileo was eager to prove himself to his superiors as well as his soldiers that he was a well chosen leader. To quench his now dwindling patience, he started sculpting with his clay without a certain knowledge of what he'd be making out of it.

Some of the solders were complaining about how the squad was being led by someone who had no experience leading and just liked to look pretty: "What was the captain thinking, giving leadership to such a pampered noble!" In the midst of all this, dark clouds started to form above their leader's head. Before the miniature storm could start, Sileo called to the group of gossiping spearmen: "Why don't you challenge me, if you doubt my abilities as a warrior and leader?" A large spearman then stepped forward to accept the challenge. As soon as the duel started, Sileo struck the back of the opposing spearman's leg with the dull part of his blade, making his opponent loose balance. The soldier fell to the ground. Sileo then asked him to yield. "I hope this relieves all your doubts of me." he shouted to the rest of his squad as he helped his opponent back onto his feet. "I also want to make one more thing clear: I am not a noble."

Shani stood among her fellow fighters her gaze nerves and yet she felt somewhat calm. How was she supposed to command men that where twice her age? She wasn't she wasn't cut out to be a commander. What would she do? she could try. Taking a deep breath she peers up at the rest of the lines, Sir Aharon at their head, it was funny though she didn't really know him or recognize him, she didn't questions his authority or right to be where he was, obviously he had that but still...

Silently she checked her staff and her armor before she made herself stand straighter, the first thing about leading make sure you look like you should be there... right? she didn't belong here. She glanced at the men and women that had been put under her and wondered again why her? Grant me courage she pleaded with Alu’Terasa as she marched along with the white clad men and women under the moonlight which made them stick out like a avalanche of shinning snow.

The guardians heading south would be surprised to see a single squad of fencers accompanying the group, right at the front as if trying to prove themselves. However they were led by a man in snakeskin armour with a snake for an arm and none of the guardians thought to challenge someone blessed by the Meragia like so. Instead they were thankful for his help.

Shiko ignored their weird looks entirely and focused on his own squad, joking around with them and just naturally getting along. It would help keep him alive in the battle, long enough to get to the runic circle. He was no mage but he was sure he would find something about it he could use or more accurately, claim. He'd just have to wait until Yon'Zuan had completed his objective and was ready to attack the fort.

Dezeroth stared at the wall for a few split seconds. Notably, he stared at the gaps. Perhaps the sentries are only there to guard against intruders near their vicinity? Turning to the mean in charge of his two platoons of spearmen, he pointed toward the Canyon entrance before pulling out his map. "Glouest Maesfiel." Handing it to one of the men, he spoke quickly now. "Take this map. Use it to find adequate cover. You are to hide, but have a good enough view of the entrance to the Mountain Pass to know if a force is going for it. If they are not going for it, Do not engage. However, if they are, then you are to ambush them in a flanking maneuver and ensure they do not assault the area. If they come in this direction, wait until they attempt to breach the walls, then flank them." He turned to the Archers, now. "Take cover in the forest near the wall. I want you to make sure you have full view of the bridge of the island; you're going to make sure the Spearmen themselves aren't flanked. Wait until they get to the bridge, then fire in volleys. All at once; cover the entire bridge."
He turned to the Skirmishers. "Split into two groups of twenty-five soldiers. I want you to, as stealthily as possible, sneak through the area. You will eliminate any sentries covering the area, but otherwise leave them be. Your objective is the keep; get the Hydromancers and Seers in that direction. I will be with you, but I am also perfectly capable of holding my own. Quickly now, time is the essence of war!" With that, he'd lead one of the squads of twenty-five to the nearest gap in the wall, peering through before carefully moving through, trying to use any rubble in order to cover his advance.

Sending the ink of his map over to the copy he noticed that where the runic circle should be on his enchanted map instead there was merely a hole with burn marks around it. Aside from that crisp area though the map had turned out fine with the Spearmen running off to try and find a good position of cover among a group of tall rocks that had fallen from the nearby cliff walls. The Archers as well ran off to hide among the trees and wait while they could see a large force of Aeregos troops heading towards the canyon. The Wyrms were also heading towards the Easter Mountain Pass where Maram was. A larger more visible Wyrm was flying currently in his direction high up in the sky, while it wouldn't be able to strike anyone from that height it couldn't be hit by anything either. This rider was alone and only visible when going in front of the moon. The leader of the other squad of Skirmishers took them through the Eastern hole in the wall while Dezeroth led his men through the Western portion. Those going through the Eastern hole managed to find large rocks to use for cover as they stayed low and slow moving with Hydromages following them. Using the rubble as cover Dezeroth led his men inside while they kept low with the Taeloron and other such beings staying outside. Now looking around he could see some incredibly strange sights. There were men of Leongarde it seemed, however their armor was older in appearance. Much of it looked to be iron and they wore gray rather than blue underneath their armor. As well the strange creatures on the wall resembled bipedal frogs with blowguns in their hands. Each of them were highly visible. Over towards the gate was a stalwart creature with ten heads like a Wyrm that twisted about in the air. Iron chainmail armor covered its body while it held a massive sword twice the length of a normal man, this creature was also twice the height of a normal man with two twisting tails coming from its lower back that ended in spikes. Currently it marched about lowering its heads to smell the ground around it. Around the runic circle were creatures barely wearing anything with shimmering skin and squid like heads, their arms and legs ended in tentacles and it seemed to be snowing around where they stood as the water of the runic circle was currently frozen. In the very center of it was a large gray orb of swirling magic that seemed to be forming a whirlpool inside of itself. Atop the keep were more of the frog creatures while on the ground patrolling the area were beings without weapons or armor that had long necks and resembled eels. Electricity crackled from their very bodies that lit up the area around them. There were torches on the walls and the keep, as well as near the entrances but much of the fort was in darkness. Light came from the Runic Circle in its frozen waters. Dezeroth and his men reached the edge of the rubble and were slightly past the walls since whatever had taken them down obviously knocked them inwards. Currently the other group of Skirmishers were getting closer to the keep and one of the Eel men were moving closer to them. There was a sort of thud as they could see it drop, however the noise was fairly quiet and could have been a bird, anything. Though Dezeroth knew it was the sound of stone hitting flesh. Beside the mage was a young Skirmisher with a long ponytail named At'muhal. He seemed to be a bit eager compared to the others that seemed to be reserved and focused entirely on staying hidden behind the rubble. Thick gray tentacles began to sprout from the Orb within the Runic circle as a large sort of octopus revealed itself. It had a somewhat human face on its side with six eyes and spikes along with patches of thick blubber around its eyes. Seeing this the men around Dezeroth began to shake.

Shiko while at the head of the group currently was leading them somewhat, upon crossing the first bridge he noticed the other bridge was destroyed. Across it he could see armored figures and a massive Disgeran army with a Colossus currently heading towards the water to cross. Demons, riders, there were a lot of beings heading in the direction of the Fort while Yon'Zuan led his men North towards the forest. One of the Guardians ran to him to mention quickly, "With the bridge out were are heading North towards the forest by the bridge. We won't be able to engage Disgeran's army and will be covering the other end of the Northern bridge by that Island for the Tempest." With that the man rushed off to follow behind Yon'Zuan as they ran North and upon getting close to the Forest the Guardians came underneath arrow fire. Across the water within the tower Shiko could hear singing as his Fencers followed behind him. The presence of Yon'Zuan had made them move quite faster and with the heavy armor of the Guardians they could easily catch up or even outrun the Guardians. Much of the battlefield was obscured by the night and terrain.

Following behind Sir Aharon, Shani led her group into the Forest with them as a howling reached the ears of the men and women around them. With the trees around them seeing the sky and the fort become somewhat difficult while the fires to the West were becoming more and more visible. In the distance she could see Fire Magi preparing spells as they went through the forest while suddenly the man standing beside her was hit in the stomach by an arrow. He fell to the ground backwards trying to get back up while holding his arrow wound. Sir Aharon and the Knights raised their shields while he screamed, "Archers, down low shields up!" Around them the other captains began to give such commands while they listened, Sir Aharon was then tackled by a Hellhound with its dark black fur and glowing red eyes becoming visible. Up above she could barely see what she thought were demons in the sky raining arrows down upon them. While he had been tackled by the hound Aharon was using his shield to push it away from his body as more of the hounds were running in between the trees at great speeds. Behind them their own archers were readying their bows but with the close proximity she knew that if they fired, they'd likely be killing their own men. The demonic wolves were coming from the West. Knights had been leading their movement and they were currently dealing with the wolves with ease as the canines were obviously not intended to go up against such heavy units. Someone came from above towards Shani swooping low, he was an ascended of Disgeran with long arms and metal tipped boots while he was trying to kick her in the head as he flew by between the branches.

Sileo's show against his men didn't due much to increase confidence in him as now he heard them murmuring among themselves about his strange action and need to do such a thing. This confusion however was not spoken of as they marched alongside Captain Talo. Currently they were heading towards the area between the two mountains to secure it with Sileo's men being on the left flank. In the darkness not much was visible. There was the sound of light footsteps from men marching though some slightly heavier footsteps came into earshot, possibly the guardians joining them yet the men were not in sight around them. Talo was a challenged to Sileo's attractiveness as the Captain leading them was quite beautiful though the others didn't question it much. Suddenly men in the front started to yell as arrows and bolts landed upon their forces from the front with men marching on hoping the raised spears could deflect some arrows. In the distance men on chariots and horses were firing upon them while retreating. However there was a scream nearby as Sileo's attention was brought to a group of men in the darkness now upon them. Javelins struck many in the chests down them as these warriors moved in. They wielded Kilij and were known as the Slayers of Scaravus. While small in number they had used the nearby rocks of the area to get close while using the darkness to keep themselves hidden. They were ripping into their rear flank as he could see other groups of them now attacking from the sides. A monk of Aeregos had jumped over his head to protect him from the band of Scaravians. These fast swinging weapons were making short work of the lightly armored Aeregosians and were causing their rear to take heavy castualties as the men were now starting to respond with spears and swords. Fencers were attempting to knock away the Kilij and simply survive this brutal encounter. Wind Elementals at the front were doing their best to knock away arrows as Talo now rode through towards the group of slayers pointing his sword and trying to redirect more forces to engage them rather than deal with the more mobile horse riders. Two of the slayers were currenlty rushing towards him, one with a Javelin and the other wielding their Kilij. Both had wicker shields on their left arms and wore head scarves to cover much of their faces.

Using the Imp Verminathras could see a great deal of what Firanos was up to. War Balloons were head North and seemed to be waiting over the waters. As the Colossus moved to wade through the water now they head forwards to cut it off and likely strike it from a distance with ballista. Their catapults were being wheeled in the direction of Disgeran as much of their army marched towards and across the bridge following behind Disgeran. Varis yelled to a nearby man while pointing at him, "Acolyte take this band of Heretics and head off the Firanos advance. Slow them down with your bodies if you must, when it seems like they will be upon you return to us and let the Heretics take what few they can!" A platoon of the Heretics fractured off to try and stall the Firanos advance as Phoenix Guard continued to rocket about being incredibly visible due to their fires. Fire Magi looked to be set up to the East and were conjuring fire directed towards the further East, towards where a forest was. This was where Callus was planning to set up, it looked like they were going to burn down the entire forest. Shimmering armor from Knights of Archeos was visible in the forest along with a large group of infantry, Verminathras knew this meant that while they may lose Callus this could cause the Archeos army to be burned alive. A large cloud of smoke was being created to the Western side of Firanos' army making them invisible to Verminathras. The Talmu Salamanders were doing this. At the very front of Legionnaires were across the bridge now with their Iron Masks, they started to engage the Heretics and were easily dealing with the numbers thanks to their long pikes. After a bit a volley of flaming arrows were launched through the smoke cloud and across the water, though they didn't hit anything since the Disgeran army wasn't engaging them. Now Varis was trying to get people as quickly across the water as possible not wishing to go toe to toe with Firanos' onslaught which was seemingly, entirely being poured in their direction. Demons were now mostly across the water with the Fish Men mostly being killed by Infernals. The tower was also starting to be taken by Totar and his Blackguard. Crossbowmen were going with him to fill up the tower along with warlocks, archers, and imps. With the bridge burned however this position seemed to be pointless especially due to its wooden nature. Totar rode back atop a Blackguard horse with his men behind, they would next cross the river. Morticus was now across along with Varis and half the Disgeran army. Heretic archers were setting up on the other side to the East to cover them with volleys across the river where Firanos was coming in.

One of the Spiders by Davrin here's his speak of waiting to kill others to which he replies, "Patience will bring death to our enemies, impatience will bring death to ourselves." Hashim was engaging with the Knights of Leongarde and the Silver Order it seemed as these men and woman were chasing him and the Banshees through the canyon. It looked like a squad of Banshee had already been lost in their skirmish with the heavily armored Leongardians looking mostly intact, leading their charge was a man that looked to be Sir Beripold, a known Knight of Leongarde. Hashim and a bulk of the Banshee continued down the canyon having no way to deal with the riders and as they passed by the Eastern Dead End Pass, the stingers started to fire upon them. Noticing this the Knights continued to ride up until the pass which they turned onto leaving Hashim to ride away, the Banshees were too fast for them to catch up with the Silver Order trying to catch up as well. Spearmen were mostly setting up a defensive line to try and deal with the Cavalry, though the Knights and Silver Order were not deterred. Spiders were now rushing to them as the Stingers were continuously firing upon the riders until they had gotten too close. Spearmen were now being run down by Knights with some of them being dismounted and landing on the ground, yet still this didn't stop them since they got up with shortswords and their shields and started to fight the spearmen. The Silver Order were still riding up the pass, and though smaller in number they wore vastly superior armor and had their lances at the ready. Those that weren't dismounted by the spearmen were heading towards the Stingers with Sir Beripold leading three Knights towards the Spiders. Davrin could spot a rider heading directly for himself.

Davrin grins at the man foolish enough to challenge him. He stomps the ground, causing a small amount of stone to rise up from the ground right at the front tip of the horse's front left hoof was going to land. This causes the horse to stumble, and, with the momentum of the gallop, with the added weight of it's barding and rider, causes it to tumble, pinning it's rider underneath it. Davrin is quick to strike, sending a stream of flame through the visor of the rider's helmet, hopefully causing such burns as to kill him.

However, he still retains his awareness of the surrounding battle. "The riders are too heavily armored! Men, cut the horses out from under them, then finish them off while they are struggling to get free! They'll be easier to fight that way!" He then waves his arms in a flowing motion, before crouching down and slapping the ground with his palms. This would cause several groups of small, narrow spears of stone to erupt underneath the horses of several of the Leongardian Knights and Silver order riders, where there was little to no armor. This would include Sir Beripold's horse.

As well, the spearmen under his command thrust their spears at the chests of the charging horses, before dodging to the side to avoid the tumbling horse and struggling rider. They would then quickly thrust towards the weakest point of the knights' armor, the joints.

Verminathras slowly pulled himself out of the Imp's mind and sight, returning to his own body of his own will and quickly beginning to process everything he saw. Another problem with using the Imp as an eye-in-the-sky was that one was not allowed to truly think about what he or she was seeing.

So now to deal with the problems at hand... he thought, touching the mental bound with the Imp and directing it. Towards the forest where Callus was. The Imp would know who to find and how to get to him, to warn him of his impending fiery death. The only problem was the Imp only had a rudimentary grasp of language; to speak clearly, it needed Verminathras to speak through it. However, the plaguecaster had other matters to deal with.

"Warriors, I need you to move out, hold that bridge!" Verminathras called to his platoon of Ascended, holding aloft his staff that seemed to ooze a sickly green aura. "I will remain here to create something to deal with the Fierans. Be warned, however. When you see the first green flash from my direction, disengage from the Fierans and retreat here. When you see the second, pray that you are clear of the bridge. Now go!" he commanded, now slamming his staff into the ground as he prepared to charge his magic into a spell.

Splitting it into two is going to be troublesome... he thought, closing his eyes as he felt his plaguehounds move closer to him, waiting nearby in case he needed protection.

Sileo was hesitant for a mere half second, and then regained himself. He then called out two of the spearmen from his squad. "I need you to search and remove any seagulls form the area. And to you: I am sorry to have made an example of you earlier. I called you over here because I need you to scout the side of the cliff for high ground. Report back when you find it."

"The rest of you: Hold your ground until the scout gets back!" He and his men Agreed to fight with valor until their comrades returned with information. A young soldier to Sileo's right got his arm sliced as an arrow flew by. "What use is honer to one that is dead?" Sileo shouted. "I want everyone in my squad to be alive by the end of this battle, am I clear?" "Yes, Sir!" came the shouts of the spearmen as they fought alongside Sileo to hold off incoming enemies. For the time being the left flank was surviving.

Shani started listening to the crys of the captain. "Stay close!" She found herself saying to the few around her. She had move in front of her companion that had been hit. She shuddered at the sight of the hell hounds but gritted her teeth against the fear. Steeling herself she became aware of the shadow above her. She moved just in time to keep from getting kicked in the head. She sung her staff up to hot him, wither she could reach him now she did not know.

Turning she glanced around herself making sure that her group was still close. Unlike other battles, shani was hesitant to kill and draw blood, it would not be so against these fiends. Steeling herself she took a deep breath wrestling with her fear that threatened to try and over take her.

"Stick close, work together!" She called to her group again. She turned to Sir Aharon spinning her staff around forcefully at the hell hounds back legs her intent purely to brake them then go for the beasts head to smash it in.

Shiko nodded at the messenger before turning his fencer's around and following the guardian's new path. "What do you guys reckon, are you up for going over to join Talo now?" he asked his squad. He wasn't in the mood for sitting around doing nothing despite his reservations about getting in the thick of it. At least here he'd have an army backing him up. However whatever decision he made would have to be put on hold as they soon came under fire.

"Get into the trees!" Shiko ordered as he took off himself. He weaved through the Guardians, running faster than them, and using the heavily armoured soldiers to protect himself and hoping his men would do the same. He would duck into the forest and use a tree to shield himself before taking some time to check how thick and sustained the arrow fire was. If it continued coming he would urge the guardians to take cover in the forest with him. If it was only sparse or trickling to a stop he would then order his men to make a run for the bridge using their speed to get away quick.

Tuk had remained silent, marching with the front line as they approached the fort. The Pricks were being held in her hands, recently formed into two small blades. Sweat soaked her neck and brow as she trembled slightly. This would be her first battle, anxiety was fighting vigorously for dominion on her mind, but she was managing to repress it.

As they approached the young warrior took a deep breath and looked over her shoulder at the swordsmen that accompanied her. She couldn't help but feel her inexperience had earned her scorn from them, and it was only her name that gave her the small group to begin with. She could see the strange figures moving about along the keep walls, and the nervous energy only seemed to increase. Unwilling to compromise her voice, or the amount of energy the resting of her vocal chords had given her she awaited Davvis' charge on the keep.

Tuk and her squad would follow and give support as soon as the captain would act.

Dezeroth nodded to himself. "So that's how it is," He murmured, "Alright." He said, "We won't be taking the keep today." He gestured, "Get back. We're going to set up ambush points all around this side of the keep and wait for someone else to make a charge through. Perhaps we'll get lucky, and another faction will attack from the other side." He gestured to the forest, as well as the rocky mountain near the canyon. "Spread out. I don't want anyone to notice until it's too late. And if you're heading for the forest, tell the Archers to hold off on firing at anyone."

He went to the other squad, exiting the keep and heading to the other exit, in order to tell them basically the same thing. Finally, he turned to look at the keep. Perhaps there's a control mechanism in there... He shrugged, and instead headed with those who went into the forest to hide. Gesturing to his men, he whispered "Spread all throughout the forest. While we're here, we may as well ensure that nobody flanks us. Make sure you're in an ideal spot to ambush the enemy. I don't know if we're going to have to worry about enemies, but considering that at least half of the enemies we face have armor, I want you to be ready." He'd heed his own advice, then, hiding with another of his men in some brush.

Davrin's stone pillars were spread thin by the amount of magic he was casting all at once, as well due to how widespread his casting of them was with so many targets many merely broke upon making contact with the horses. Three Knights of the Silver order saw the man yelling and flourishing as if he was casting spells and decided to charge at him. Their lances were aimed for his chest while they wore full plate armor and even had plate armored horses. Easily they ran down the Spearmen before them heading for the Mage. A few Knights were dismounted by his tactic though many continued to ride killing Spearmen. Beripold was now engaging the Spiders whom which leapt with their spears and collided with the riders. Two Knights were dismounted while some Spiders were run through by lances, Beripold claimed a life personally. However his lance broke going through a spider's chest and he had to drop it switching over to his secondary weapon. Because of his flashy actions one of the Knights leading another charge pointed to Davrin, "Kill the caster first!" Stingers were firing upon those they could get but sometimes they would hesitate as to not strike Scaravians. Hashim was now leading the Banshee up the pass on their horses likely to aid in fighting the Leongarde Knights. On the side of Scaravus there were already heavy casualties, Davrin's men were doing their best to dismount and kill the Knights but many of the dismounted men were not caught under their horses and would need to be fought.

A squad of Phoenix guard rocketed across the water and headed towards their flanks while Vermin's Ascended charged forwards. Totar pointed at the Warlock, "Two Warlocks, two Blackguard. Protect him. When he is finished rejoin me." After saying those words the black clad man started to wade through the water atop his horse and reached the other side where a large portion of Disgeran's army now was. Arrows were wildly being fired at the bridge, their numbers giving them kills but many were too weak to even reach the position. Two Warlocks hobbled over to Verminathras, one male one female. Both looked to be pale and ill with warts on their faces and jagged noses, they barely had any teeth. The Blackguard stood by with their large axes keeping them ready as the Phoenix Guards moved towards them. Vermin got a small image from his Imp suddenly as it had contacted him, barely. He received the image in his mind of Callus and his Ascended Archers firing upon the Fire Magi and killing a few of them. An Infernal had come over as well after Varis had ordered it to. Both Warlocks started to channel energy into Verminathras' spell charging it further as the Phoenix guard got closer. His Ascended were facing great difficulty against the Pikemen of Firanos with archers raining arrows down upon them, they were seeing heavy casualties. Though the Heretics before them were facing even hard times with them being nearly wiped out. Their Heretic Archer protection was also being lost as Varis instead began to direct them towards the War Balloons that were firing upon the Colossus. It was getting closer to the walls now with the Disgeran army following behind it, Infernals were marching at the front to protect it as Mort killed a group of Heretics and put a barrier around the Colossus that caused it to be surrounded by a swirling violet shield which was incredibly visible. Anyone with a direct line of sight could see the Colossus now.

Sileo's men looked very puzzled at the mention of Seagulls and had no clue what he was talking about. Scaravus slayers now started to back off as his men focused entirely on defense as per his orders. The one he had sent off went scouting but there was a sharp cry from the man's direction which sounded like it was coming from him. Talo continued to lead the troops forwards with their large group, he specifically set up Monks to protect their siege weapons while more slayers headed towards them. At the front Scaravus Horseback Archers and Scorpion Mounted Charioteers were backing off while the Aeregosian army continued to march towards the Fort. They were now getting ambushed at the front by more forces though Sileo couldn't see exactly what was happening from his position. Another group of Slayers arrived, a squad that was running towards the left flank which he was at with their javelins raised. One was aiming right for Sileo while his Spearmen again raised their weapons and stood their ground.

Shani managed to dodge the kick going towards her as she swung her weapon up, but by that time already he was gone. The Shadows seemed to lessen their attack and across the water she could see the Fire Magi being attacked now. A single fireball hit the Western side of the Forest and caused some of the trees in the thick area to be lit on fire. She rushed over to Aharon and hit the back legs of the Hellhound as he slammed it into the ground with his shield. The man then pointed East, "Retreat, Head North East to get out of the Forest! We'll need to meet up with Gavriel instead and form alongside him. Do not let the flames consume you, me and my Knights will hold off the Wolves!" Aharan backed off slowly with his personal Knights while the rest of their troops completely started to run North East and away from the flames which were slowly starting to engulf the forest. Two more Hounds appeared with one running head on towards Aharon while another managed to bite his back left leg just as the other jumped and struck him. The man fell backwards and onto the ground while his other Knights were spread out to cover everyone and currently weren't looking in his direction. The wolf on top snapped at his face while he tried to keep it back with his shield, using his sword he swung at the other which was attempting to bite his throat while he was downed.

Shiko ordered his men to go into the trees while the Guardians as well charged into the woods. It was then that they noticed the arrows were coming from the forest itself, Scaravus archers had been set up within the woods. Already the Guardians were engaging them while arrows mostly hit their armor and stuck without wounding them, though he did spot one get hit in the throat and fall to their knees. The Scaravus Archers were making a retreat to the Northern End of the woods. Within the fort Dezeroth went over to his other squad of skirmishers while the first group left through the hole in the walls. He ordered the next group followed with him out though they started to get darts thrown at them. One of his men was struck in the back of the leg but he continued to move with them. The frog men on the walls seemed to inflate their chests before using blowdart guns, their darts went incredibly far. Dezeroth's groups of Skirmishers headed into the Forest where the Archers were engaging a group of Guardians and Fencers. The Guardians were now getting close to the Archers and had begun to come them down with ease thanks to their long Katana. However their weapons were difficult to use among the more tight groupings of trees due to their length. A Guardian with a banner on his back seemed to be at the center of a group of them, they were acting as his guard while they used trees for cover to get closer to the Archers. Shiko's group was still under fire until the Guardians had closed the distance, now the Archers were too busy attempting to flee while Dezeroth and his group arrived. The Skirmishers readied their slings due to the approaching Guardians, they however didn't start to attack yet as they were trying to get closer first along the Eastern side of the Forest. Aeregosian Fencers were coming from the North and heading towards the woods while in the distance their entire army was also coming this way. A large Wyrm with a Wyrmborn rider came into view as he got close, though of course he couldn't get through the trees. He seemed to just be watching atop it in the sky. Shiko recognized it as the Commander.

Tuk was now getting close to the walls with the Leongardians coming under attack from darts which merely bounced off of their armor. Some Spearmen were struck but those like the Shieldguard were easily protected during the march. Magesmith raised their hands wildly as she could see them messing with the Siege Towers. Within them the Suit-at-Arms formed just before reaching the walls. The Siege Towers picked up in speed now as she could see the Suit-at-Arms inside pushing it along the ground until they hit the walls and a bridge fell onto them from it. Large stones flung from Trebuchet hit the Eastern Walls breaking them down. At the far back she could see Archeos horsemen riding towards Rasmus' camp. The Leongardian Infantry led by Davvis charged on through the hole in the wall and within it were the sounds of battle. From the top of the wall a block of ice was being formed and throne, though the Mouths of Ko'Rhas shouted loudly sending it fracturing backwards through the air. Her group was being sent through the wall now and inside she could see some incredibly things. The walls were lined with what looked to be brightly colored frog men. Dark skinned Eel Humanoids were covering themselves in lightning and rushing at the Leongardians that were trying to keep their distance from them. the Shieldguarde were forming a sort of two sided defensive line. Their shields were raised as they had their backs to the entrance and were defending those coming through from warriors with shields, spears, and iron armor like the Footmen that were rushing towards them. Suit-at-Arms were upon the walls slaughtering frogs with some jumping down to face a strange looking figure. It was twice the height of a man, a sort of ten headed serpent creature that was spitting green clouds. Within the clouds Footmen seemed to be falling to their knees and dying within seconds. The creature also had twisting tails that ended in spikes while is body was covered in chain mail. It held a massive sword which hammered down on the Suit-at-Arms. At the back she could see the Runic Circle with a massive Octopus forming out of an Orb that was glowing. Octopus humanoids were standing around it and chanting as the area was blanketed in snow. Inside of the Fort things were hectic with the large stones of the Trebuchet hitting the areas inside of the Fort now rather than the walls. A battering ram was hitting the gate while soldiers were now coming up the Siege Towers to get on the walls, mostly Archers and Swordsman that were at the fronts to protect them. Half Human Half Serpent women slithered out of the keep of the Fort and carried spears while singing, as they sung the wounded enemies within the Fort slowly started to heal with a gray aura around them. From within the large sorts of wooden structures more warriors were pouring out along with Shark Men. They had inky black skin and hooks in their hands, mouths full of rows of razor sharp teeth, and emerald eyes. The Footmen had relative ease fighting them though the healers were supporting them. Davvis was currently engaging one of the Iron Armored Warriors while a Shark Creature was slowly making its way through the carnage behind him. An Eel Creature was currently charging at her with Lightning arcing off its body. Her Soldiers were following behind her and trying to survive during the siege.

Everyone in the battlefield heard a snarling voice that caused their hair to stand on end and their skin to secrete sweat. There was not as much power to the voice, but it seemed to be weakening and old. "Humans, sons of my Brothers. You dare attack the Father Lor'Mitalus? Coming to take his power for his wretched kin, their simple blessings upon you all. Unlike my kin I will not hold back against you humans and let your worthless bodies fight for me. You do not face the warriors of Lor'Mitalus, you face Lor'Mitalus himself! Let the tides wipe you from the face of my world!" As these words rung out rain started to fall from the skies though there were no clouds. Soon after that snow began to fall as the Rivers started to freeze over. The Hydromages could still do their work though it would become more difficult for them as everyone felt the chilly grasp of Lor'Mitalus. During all of this a large gray light shot skyward from the Runic Circle which all could see.

"Keep fighting men! Reform the ranks!" While he spoke, he began focusing his magic. He claps his hands to gether, creating a few sparks, before rubbing them fast together creating heat. As the horses near, he would shoot out a burst of flame at the horses' faces. This would make them panic and rear up, During that time, he would swing his arm underhanded with his hand in the form of a scoop, causing several pebbles to shoot at the horses as if fired from a crossbow These would hit the horses in their unarmored undersides, perforating their internal organs, killing them and making them fall. This would pin, or at least knock them down. He would then thrust the Index, middle, and ring finger of his left hand at the knights, sending out narrow streams of flame (roughly 3 inches) at their visors. This could very well pass through the holes of their helmet, and, while this amount of flame would not normally kill them, it could blind them, or seriously burn their faces, and the inside of their mouths, throats, and perhaps lungs, causing possible death by shock or asphyxiation. if it doesn't kill them, it would at least stun them for long enough for others to kill them.

He continues shouting orders. "Spearmen! Form into a wedge or line, plant the butt end of your spears into the ground, and angle them towards the charging knights! A horse will not charge a wall of spears as long as it is held firm. We can still win the day, for we are better than these primitive horsemen!" Davrin would then continue to use his special style to build up energy for a more powerful spell to be used next, all he needs is a target. While his does this, he would begin stepping backwards into a small narrow cubby in the canyon wall, forming a bottleneck, and would force the knights to come at him from one direction, thereby preventing him from being flanked, and reducing the effectiveness of their greater numbers.

Verminathras was surprised when more magic began to pour into his reserves, opening his eyes to look at the two warlocks and blackguard that were now nearby. Hmm... I seem to have a vote of confidence... he thought, noting how much quicker his magic was getting ready. This will be much easier, then...

"Let's hope they listened to my orders..." he muttered, green glow enveloping his body as the corruptive magic began to pour out. Two orbs began to form floating above his head, growing in size until Verminathras was satisfied. He split the magic between the two at a ratio of 60-40, preparing the 40 orb first.

It was at that moment that the forgotten Meragaia spoke and the cold began to settle on the world. Hissing in annoyance, the warlock realized that the frozen water would easily allow the Fierans to cross the river anyway. Blast!! This was for nothing! ... Bah, I'll make the most of it while I can...

Raising his staff, the plaguecaster tossed the smaller orb towards the Fieran siege weapons, the plague magic soaring rather quickly before it exploded in a corrosive rain over the constructs. Depending on how close the weapons were, he would likely be able to get no more than two, unless they were literally within a few yards of each other.

That was the first green flash. Waiting no more than twenty seconds, Verminathras then threw the larger orb towards the bridge. He had planned on it eroding the bridge away with its corrosive effect, but with the frozen water, they might still have a way across. No matter. The attack would still give them problems so long as it actually hit them. Exploding overhead, the plague orb showered the bridge with corrosive magic, hopefully not on his ascended warriors.

Whether or not they heeded his orders, Verminathras now began to move towards the north to meet back up with the Disgeran army, his job done for now. That should help a little, at least...

"Evade the attack and don't let them reach their javelins! We don't want the enemy to get their arms back."
The spearman who was routing the area of seagulls returned back successful. "You two search for higher ground, and be alert."

Sileo pointed Dolotelas toward the enemy and motioned the remaining spearmen to do the same. "If they try to attack, thrust with your spears."

Sileo took a step forward to attack with his weapon but slightly chocked himself as he noticed the javelin that had punctured his cape. After tearing himself free, Sileo noticed a cloud forming above his head...

Shani made a turn ready to dash off with the rest of her group. Chancing a look back she could see their current leader downed by two hell hounds and hard pressed to get them off. She skid to a halt glancing around her group was already well on their way, good. She dashed off once more pushing on for a fast hard tackle to slam into the Hell hound on top. upon hitting the ground she'd roll foreword with her momentum releasing the hell hound before spinning around in a crouch to to face it, staff at the ready she'd spin it over her head before cracking it down on the hounds head.

Shiko turned to his fencers as he continued to move towards the archers, "The guardians can handle the skirmishers, we'll stop the archers from regrouping." He and his squad would then charge forward at the retreating archers. The fencers would rush forward and focus on taking out one archer at a time each, using their speed to quickly move between targets. They would attack with a thrust on the charge using their extra momentum to try to kill in one blow. Shiko on the other hand teleported forwards towards the front of the archer platoon. He would then move backwards through it, throwing out thundersnaps at those he came close to and harrying the front. His goal was to obstruct the archer's retreat allowing his fencers to finish them off from behind.

Tuk recoiled slightly at the sight of all the strange inhabitants of the keep. Trying to take in everything and keep a level head was proving more difficult for the daughter of G'wain. Seeing the charging eel man approaching Tuk was hesitant to attack, seeing the electrical charge skip around its body. When it had closed in the new warrior unleashed a roar at the ground hoping the kicked up earth would be able to smother that charge. Swinging downward she tried to cleave the potentially distracted creature.

'Swordsmen, the serpent women should be our priority. Silence them!'

Dezeroth watched everything unfold carefully. Giving a dramatic sigh, he looked to a nearby group. "Split into thirds. One third, go back to the Hard-Shell Warriors and Taeloron Handlers. Tell them I want a full blockade around the forest, with enough range that they won't be surprised by a rush coming from the area, but close enough that they can avoid large gaps. The next group, I want to head toward the sounds of that thunder. That's also the position of the archers, as they were supposed to be firing on the river and that's where it's coming from. Gather men along the way and go free them. The third and final group, you are messengers, make sure to inform every packet of resistance in this forest that they're to take up positions in tight clusters of trees where the enemies' superiors weapons do them less good. Hurry up now." He began making his way out of the forest, now standing in front of it he began gathering up large amounts of fire magic, though he was simply storing the power for the next spell he'd unleash.

Davrin raised his hands at the charging horses but no fire came from his palms, they simply continued their charge. The Silver Knights trained their weapons on his torso when pebbles struck the undersides of their horses killing the mounts and sending them toppling forwards. One of the knights' leg struck him in the abdomen as they were tossed also launching him to the ground with the knights. One of them was pinned beneath their horse while the other two were getting up wearing their armor. Hashim was now riding alongside the Knights and Silver Order, him and the Banshee were using their picks to hammer them as they rode by. The horseback Scaravians not entirely engaging but trying to hit then move past, as well they managed to kill a few that were grounded by striking them directly in the helm with their picks. Spearmen were trying to form a wedge with their spears planted while the Leongarde Knights attempted to ride around to find an opening. Though with the formation of the pass there were no true flanks for them to reach. Beripold and Hashim made contact with the Knight dismounting Hashim from his horse and sending the man to the ground. He still had his pick but his horse continued on. Beripold was now trying to turn to make another pass at Hashim whom which seemed to be injured as he tried to stand. Spiders were rushing towards them with their spears raised as Knights started to form upon Beripold.

Verminathras released the first orb in the direction of where he assumed the siege weaponry, the balloons were all that were visible. The closest one to him had its balloon damaged and quickly enough they fell to the earth crashing. Likely no one survived, many of the others witnessed the coming rain and back away from the Disgeran army as the one closest to the Colossus stayed firing upon it further. The creature had bolts in its right arm weakening it but finally the rain reached the furthest balloon also sending it to the ground. He could see what looked like one of them crawling from the wreckage but just as he moved the Colossus stepped upon him. The soul barrier had lessened the damage done to the creature, with only a few bolts towards the end striking it after the barrier was broken. Finally the massive creature reached the Fort and started to slam its weakened arm into the forwards gatehouse as creatures upon the wall that resembled humanoid frogs fired upon it with dartguns. Stone cracked underneath the heavy fists of the Colossus while those upon the walls trembled and shook. Vermin's next bolt launched over towards the bridge while some of his Ascended moved out of the way. They had taken heavy casualties facing the entire Firanos army alone, and a few also didn't move quickly enough to escape the magic spell. Rain fell down upon them burning their flesh as they tried to flee, Firanos warriors also retreated from the bridge as the Warlock witnessed it start to crumble. Still it stood but highlighted by the fires of Firanos he could see it was slowly collapsing, and that anything heavy crossing it would probably finish the job. Pikemen backed up the bridge while Phoenix Guard seemed to give up on their flanking maneuver. They rocketed back to the main force as Firanos brought Talmu over to the bridge to increase their smoke cloud. As they vanished behind the smoke, Verm could see them marching East and away from Disgeran. Heading North across the water with what little Ascended remained, the Plaguecaster moved with the Disgeran forces and was now close to the Southern Walls. From where he stood he could see to the North West that Aeregos were engaging someone in the woods with a Wyrm Rider flying above them and close to the fort. More Wyrm Riders were flying in the distance across the dark sky towards the Southern Mountain Pass, which was North of the Fort. To the East he could see Leongarde Soldiers rushing into the Fort through a wall with their Suit-at-Arms on the walls clearing out strange indigenous creatures. Men in iron armor with spears and round shields were fighting them upon the walls, there seemed to be a blizzard going on inside of the walls with large tentacles moving through the air connected to something behind the walls. Warlocks were forming a circle with the Necromancers that were also pouring their energy together while using Heretics as sacrifices. Varis, Totar, and Mort were together with the Reaper climbing onto the back of Totar's horse. To the South East Archeos Soldiers were fleeing from the Forest as the Ascended Archers were now flying towards the Disgeran forces. It seemed like now they were preparing their assault while the Colossus hit the walls. Varis pointed his blade towards it while screeching loudly, "Warlocks, damned of Disgeran! Channel your energy into the beast, get it to focus upon the Eastern walls, force it to create a ramp out of the stones of the walls. Create a path onto their walls so we may pour in like a flood and flush out all within that do not give into Chaos!" He looked over towards the Nightmares, "Wraiths of Disgeran scale the walls with your shadows! Show their archers, their crossbowmen, show those upon the walls the futility of their lives and send them fleeing from the Colossus so that it may continued to work!" Black Riders went out with Totar to the North West towards the woods West of the Fort. Varis continued, "Infernals guard the legs of our great demon, imps keep your eyes upon the Leongardians and Arceos fodder. Warn me if they approach our forces!" Still the massive Colossus continued to hit the walls damaging them as Nightmares moved forwards.

Sileo could see the spearmen under his commanding keeping their weapons raised but not entirely holding them up for combat. Instead they seemed to be trying to hold them in positions along their bodies that might deflect projectiles, while they kept their eyes on javelins being thrown and attempted to dodge them. Some died but others were surviving due to his words, perhaps accidentally he seemed to have given them good advice. Sileo watched the Scaravian rush towards him as two of his Spearmen came over to cover him while he pulled on his cloak. One knocked away the blade of the warriors while the other thrust their spear into his gut before twisting and pushing him onto the ground. Two of his soldiers climbed onto a rock, and a javelin hit one in the leg sending him off the side. However the other looked over towards the siege equipment and yelled, "They're going for the Ballista and Catapults!" After saying that he jumped down and used the stone for cover. Rear guards of the army moved around the siege equipment to protect them while they engaged the Slayers. Sileo could see the enemies now retreating towards the Mountains while the Aeregosian army headed South East now with some reaching the side of the Fort. More Scaravus seemed to be in the forest to the South but they ignored them as Taeloron and Hard Shell Warriors were near the Northern edges guarding it. Their Siege Weapons now focused upon the walls while Fencers, Monks, many warriors started to rush towards the walls as Archers fired upon the Frogmen which were visible. They carried dartguns and were using them to fire darts into the Aeregosian lines. Within the Fort a blizzard seemed to be forming with large tentacles extending from something within.

Shani tackled the Hound off the top of her commander as he thrust his blade into the throat of the other attacking him. Rolling off of the attack as a claw scratched her shallowly across her stomach she was again upon her feet. It snarled while jumping at her, but was stopped midway by her Iron Rod slamming it into the ground. Barely alive it laid there twitching as the fires got closer and closer. The commander pushed himself up while he tapped her shoulder and pointed North East, "Regroup with the others, and thanks for the assistance. Everyone else has already retreated and fighting fire isn't as simple as fighting the creatures of the void. Come on!" He then ran off to regroup with the Archeos army that was setting up for the siege, it looked like the Archons, Templars, and other such powerful warriors were now with the surviving bulk of the army while the forest was being burned down. She could see to the West that Firanos was now heading in their direction, a large number of their soldiers seemed to be now crossing the bridge made of stone and were heading towards the shallow water crossing West of the Forest.

Tuk's plan worked perfectly, the dirt seemed to ground the electricity through it while the Eel continued to rush towards her until her weapon collided with its shoulder digging into its body. However she did not manage to cleave all the way through its body. Seemingly angry with her attack it moved its head towards her while her weapon was stuck inside of its body through its torso. Black inky blood leaked out of its body as the creature seemed to be crippled, but it still had control over its long neck. A thin head on the end with small eyes opened its mouth as a collapsed human face within pushed forwards on a fleshy pink tube. This human face had a mouth that gnashed towards her face as it was quite close throwing saliva about. The creature's arms and legs were limp as it weighed her down with the weapon stuck in its body. Swordsmen under her command kept their shields raised to block darts from hitting their joints as they used swords to block incoming strikes from the Iron Armor wearing figures, using the Shieldguards as deterrents. Getting close to the Serpent Woman they pushed their swords forwards underneath their shields striking some that had been singing while others backed away from their wounded holding their spears in defensive positions. An octopus man came over and raised his hands chanting as a shard of ice, like a spike, started to form above his head. The large Octopus creature in the back seemed to be conjuring a blizzard while snow covered the ground inside, Tuk could feel the chilling cold as others were being bothered by it. Though the Leongardians had heavy armor and cloth layers keeping them from freezing to death outright. Davvis was struck from behind by the Shark Humanod which slammed a hook into his right arm disarming him of his weapon. Razor sharp teeth clashed with his back armor though they couldn't dig through while he bashed his shield backwards into its head pushing the creature away from him though leaving behind its hook. "Fall upon me! We need to be vigilant, watch one another's backs!" It seemed like they were moving mainly towards the keep to take it while a Tower Knight wielding his massive shield slowly moved behind Tuk. Others were a bit behind and he seemed to be moving with her while yelling, "We need to reach that keep! They have more forces inside, and if we can wedge the Tower Knights there, we can cut them off from reinforcements then clear it out!" Suddenly the gates broke down as more Leongarde soldiers poured in from that direction with a group of Tower Knights and Shieldguard at the very front absorbing attacks. On the South Western wall there seemed to be forces being killed, a Demonic Colossus was beating down upon the walls while Nightmares were now climbing the walls, or flying it was hard to tell. Spikes of blackness spiraled out from them causing those upon the walls to scream in terror, some divine into the ground below and dying.

Shiko could witness the true power of the storm, out West on the island suddenly a storm kicked up. It was the Tempest in action as thick clouds formed above wind moving so fast the water around the island was sending tides and waves out that were hitting the Western side of the forest. Tornadoes were released as well but when moving away from the island they quickly dissolved into nothing, the harsh winds stayed with the island with only a breeze reaching them. Lightning arced into the sky while also causing massive thunderous sounds that were deafening, those within the storm must have been unable to hear anything though at the very center of the clouds seemed to be a clear opening. The bridges seemed to be fine, it looked as if the wind was ignoring the bridges meaning that the Wind Callers were using their magic to counter out the Tempest. Going through such a storm would likely be complete death, as lightning continued to strike the ground and water. Dezeroth witnessed this as well though he wasn't quire sure what was causing it. Up above them a Wyrmborn on a Wyrm continued to fly about, he yelled downwards before again gaining height to stay above arrow range. "Head East and meet at the Fort! Do not throw your lives away in these woods!" The Guardians made their way East and ended up running into some of the Skirmishers while engaging them. The slings were effective against their armor but with their speed some were able to reach the Scaravians and began to fight their way towards the Fort. Fencers were clearing the forest of Archers when they began to clump up at the commands of others, mostly standing in thick areas of the forest causing the Fencers to have difficulty rushing them. Shiko was having ease fighting the Archers making his way towards the retreating ones when something came to his attention. Hard Shell Warriors, Taeloron, and warriors were moving towards the Forest's North edge where they were now securing the area. Archers were reaching them to use the Scorpions and warriors as buffers as now they fired upon Shiko and his Fencers. The Guardians were now outside of the woods mostly with the Fencers, Archers, and some Skirmishers which were heading to Shiko and began to sling rocks towards him. Dezeroth could see the Wyrm Rider looking down upon him in the distance as it stayed above, from the North more Wyrms with Riders were coming from the mountains where Dezeroth knew that Scaravians were supposed to be setting up ambushes. A Blizzard seemed to be forming above the Fort while a great battle was going on to take it.

"Oof!" Davrin says as he is flung to the ground. "Damn barbarians..." Davrin begins to get up, his high endurance helping him get his wind back quickly. He looks around and notice Hashim is in trouble. "Damn, do I have to do everything around here?" As he was unarmored, getting up was easy for him. "Sorry, guys, I can't play with you today." Davrin begins running out of the crevice, and shoves the two knights over as he runs by.

Davrin sprints across the chaos of the ambush. He meets up with his unit. "C'mon guys, Hashim's in trouble, let's go help him." His unit runs after him as he goes. Davrin manages to grab the reins of a horse and swing himself on. He puts the spurs to the horse, and has it go at a fast trot, the men of his unit forming up around him. As they near Hashim, Davrin calls out to him, and extends his hand out to help swing him into the saddle while his men form ranks to create a barrier against the knights heading for Hashim. If he is successful in helping Hashim onto the horse, he would carry him to safety behind the formed lines of spearmen so his wounds could be treated and then be sent back to battle.

Verminathras nodded in a satisfied manner at his work, breathing a little heavier from the effort of the spell. Luckily the warlocks had been helping him. Moving back into the army with his Ascended, the plaguecaster began to think up his next move.

As he and his men began to draw closer to the fort, Verminathras noticed the creatures that inhabited it and the Leongardians that were fighting them. Frowning to himself, Verminathras slowly began to figure a course of action. It was a stretch, perhaps, but it might rid themselves of two problems in one...

Tapping two warlocks on the shoulders with his staff, Verminathras beckoned them to follow him. "I require your magics for a spell. Follow me if you wish to show these lesser beings our true power!" Grinning widely, the plaguecaster began to move back into the relative safety of his Ascended platoon. Though their numbers were greatly depleted, it was better than nothing at all.

Conjuring his magic, Verminathras began preparations for his next spell. In order to get the right conjuration, he'd have to spend some time on this one... With any luck, not much will happen to disturb me... Focusing, Verminathras began spread the tendrils of his magic out into the area around him, slowly picking his way further and further away from his body.

Shani looked over as he spoke to her and nodded charging after him but being sure not to over take him as he kept an eye out for anymore hell hounds. when they reached the main bulk she slid to a stop and looked over the men, most for the unit she had been placed with. turning she peered at the bridge, how many other factions where here? this was sure to be a horrendous fight. no doubt. With the forest burning behind them and the bulk of her brothers and sisters rallying to set siege to a rather old looking castle, She raced off once more into the midst of her fellows to find her team.

"Time to go, fall back with the guardians!" Shiko yelled at his fencers. Spotting a large clump of archers in the direction of retreat Shiko teleported ext to them. Before they could react he launched a double thundersnap at the group using the fact they were group up to hit multiple targets with the 2 attacks. He then teleported again towards the ast side of the forest putting as much distance between him and the new enemy arrivals as he could. He then lead the fencers east towards the guardians and the fort, disengaging from the enemy.

Dezeroth continued building up fire-magic, but watched all that occurred. "Get the Skirmishers back to our lines!" The Mage called out, "And make sure the Archers return as well!" He looked up to the storm, giving a small harrumph, before turning to the island. And then turning to see the masses of soldiers. I'll be fighting those soon, he sighed, "Tell the Hydromancers to grab the parts of the storm that are beyond the island--The condensation in them, obviously--And bring them over the future battlefield." He gestured to the area between where the bridge was and where the Fort was. "When the time comes, we'll be needing to drop that onto the enemy." He turned back to the forest, now. Giving a breath, he began releasing traces of the power to help dry off the underbrush he was about to set aflame. Meanwhile, he continued gathering more fire magic.

Davrin pushed the Silver Knights as he went by but in doing so he only slowed himself a bit as a fist went flying towards his face barely missing. Neither of them were knocked down by the weak push of a sorcerer when their armor would have stopped much more than just him. Both of them were now standing as he ran away, though without their horses the men were moving much more slowly while wielding their maces since their lances would do them little on foot. His spearmen followed behind setting up a semi-organized line while Hashim raised his arm to grab the hand of the Sorcerer on the back of Hashim's horse. Lifting him up Davrin noted that thankfully Hashim was somewhat small. With the two riders on the horse it continued to behind his own men while Knights were converging on their positions with lancers raised as poison arrows from the stingers were loosed striking some. The spiders were mostly killed while Beripold seemed to stay back now and be grouping with Knights of the Silver Order. It looked as if they were preparing a charge with their incredibly thick armor and armored horses. Hashim patted Davrin on the back while taking the reins from over his shoulder and bringing the horse to a halt. His other hand went out while someone tossed him a spear, between heavy wheezes the man gave him further orders. "Now off of my horse, we need to isolate the riders or dismount them. Our Banshee can deal with them easily from horseback while they are on foot, but with their lances we are at a great disadvantage." Again he wheezed while holding his chest, where he had been struck to be dismounted earlier. "Your spearmen won't last like this, I'm going to try and draw them within range of the stingers. This will be a battle of attrition versus these Leongardians!" With that Davrin was forced off of the horse and onto his feet while Hashim rode around the Spearmen line.

Verm could see the Colossus continuing to pound the walls with overhead slams while any upon the walls fled from its destruction. Darts were no longer striking it while the Nightmares sent out tendrils causing many to flee from the carnage. The Warlocks were working with Verminathras as he continued to gather the energy he required. Frost began to pour from over the walls and onto the Colossus which slowed in movement. Its arms and legs were getting covered with the clinging snow and ice, near its joints rather than at the ends of its limbs. The source of the magic was currently unseen while the Warlocks began to throw balls of hellfire through the air around the Colussus and directly at some of the incoming frost. Things were starting to get dire as at the rear of their army the Fierans marching towards them. Cavalry of theirs with spears or burning blades were charging directly for the Disgeran line when they witness something which was likely an accident. The Crusaders and Mounted Warriors of Archeos met with the Fierans. With their heavier armor the tide turned in nearly an instant with the Fieran Horsemen retreating with the Archeos heading further West behind the army towards Totar and the Black Riders. While not as well armored as the Blackguard Riders, the Archeos Cavaliers were in larger numbers. Legionairres were marching at the front with archers along the sides firing volleys off into the back of the Disgeran army as Ascended Archers flew above returning fire when they could. Gritting his teeth Varis rode over to Verm while pointing his blade at the Fierans. Fire Elementals were now coming into view, beings of pure heat unclothed due to the raging flames that made their bodies. "Avoiding Firanos is no longer an option." The Ascended Commander raised his weapon to the air while screaming for others to hear, "Pull back from the walls and leave it for Leongarde. We will deal with them later, the fires of Firanos wish to do battle with the forces of Darkness! Blackguard create a unified front line that is impenetrable, Ascended form alongside them and try to fill gaps!" After saying this he rode closer to the Heretics while others repeated his cries carrying on the message to other troops. "Heretics of Disgeran, with your lack of armor you'll do goo at this! Become a swarm, stretch out and flank the sides of Firanos. They cannot possibly have enough numbers to deal with the grasp of Disgeran!" Fire Monks were rushing to get alongside the Legionarres at the front while at the back Fire Magi seemed to be spending time gathering enough flames to launch an attack. The Phoenix Guard were nowhere to be seen.

Shani managed to find the group under her command while the Archeos troops were repositioning alongside Gavriel's forces. The Crusaders and Mounted Men at Arms were engaging with the Fierans to the South West, then rode on further past them. Disgeran was somewhat close by but they looked to be close to the walls and engaging the Fierans. A massive demon with black skin and snow being cast upon it was striking the walls as shadowy masses moved upon the walls. Leongardians were sieging the fort while fighting what looked to be frog humanoids upon the walls. Phoenix Guard seemed to be moving towards Shani's position as the Commanders of Archeos met, Gavriel seemed to be speaking with him as the Archons moved to their back staring down the Phoenix Guard whom which turned their attention now towards Disgeran. Finally after speaking among themselves Gavriel came out towards the troops in his armor while wielding his weapon high. "Archons to the skies, you will be taking out that foul demon of Disgeran while it strikes the walls. Catapults begin to strike the walls. Archers, Longbows, and Divine Longbows fire upon any that get close to us to push them away. Knights create a front line with Men at Arms standing just behind. Militia stay with our siege weapons and protect them. Templars if any magic users come near take them out, as well when the walls open up rush for the Runic Circle and kill any enemy mages nearby! Priests, set up barriers along the Western Front to protect us from Demonic magic." He took another deep breath before continuing, "Paladins watch our Eastern front and protect us from the Leongardians. Champions form upon me as we assault the walls with our magic!" After saying this the Champions formed upon Gavriel as they began to push their magic together into a single sort of orb that was becoming so bright none could look upon it. Catapults moved forwards and opened fire upon the walls while war wagons with archers and longbowmen were positioned close enough to fire with the wagons protecting those inside. Barriers were periodically set up along the Western Front, though of course they couldn't manage to entirely cover it. Paladins were at the ready on the Leongardian side. Moving forwards everyone was now coming under fire from darts upon the walls while Leongardian Swordsmen and Spearmen moved on towards the Paladins with archers reigning down arrows upon the Archeos Paladins. The ground was still covered in snow which made movement difficult, though Shani was not as inhibited by armor. She could see the Leongardians were focusing upon two Paladins that were attempting to smite the blue uniform wearing soldiers, but they were going to be outnumbered soon enough.

Shiko's thunderclap struck two of the archers while knocking many of the others down, though the two seemed to be dead from force alone. Returning to his men they rushed over to the Guardians whom which were struggling against the Skirmishers, some had perished due to the slung rocks breaking their armor or striking them directly in the face. The Commander continued to fly overhead as his Wyrm stayed high above. Guardian Archers were turning their attention to the Skirmishers as more Scaravians were coming from the North when suddenly a new threat arrived. Black Riders of Disgeran came from the East, behind the Skirmishers and began to run them down along with some Guardians whom which swung for the horses mainly. A few of the Blackguard were dismounted, one of them seemed to be wearing a bit more elaborate of armor and actually stayed back watching the action before riding South suddenly. Archeos Cavalry were also arriving and began to engage the Black Riders in larger numbers with three chasing after the more influential looking Black Rider. Aeregosian troops were now coming into sight from the North, they were marching while some of their numbers had been dwindled. Wyrm Riders were also arriving though there Cavalry did not for some reason. They were focusing on the walls, though Storm Warriors rushed South towards the Forest upon spotting the Scaravians, with their Taeloron and other soldiers setting up a perimeter within the Forest. Skirmishers seemed to be retreating but currently they were in a sort of trap, with Aeregosians to the North and between them and the Fort, the Island containing the Tempest, and the Guardians though they weren't doing so well. Phoenix Guard too seemed to be rocketing towards their position but it was a ways away. The Disgeran front was hitting the Fort with a massive demon that was not heavily guarded aside from by Infernals, the rest of their army was focusing entirely upon the Fierans marching from the South. His Fencers and the Guardians started to run towards the Fort now heading slightly North to meet up with the Aeregosian lines.

Dezeroth could unfortunately see the Skirmishers being hit hard from behind by Black Riders, however some did manage to escape with their lives due to them being told to start a retreat. If this hadn't happened he could easily have seen the entire group being wiped out entirely. Though it became a game of cat and mouse, with the Disgeran Black Riders now being chased by Archeos Crusaders and mounted Men at Arms. They were focusing entirely upon the Disgerans and left his Skirmishers alone. Gathering the fire magic he could see to the South that Phoenix Guard were heading towards his position, though they had to go around the entire Disgeran army so they would take time to arrive. Hydromages went over towards the waters around the Island and began to pull water out while churning it and keeping it in a large ball, the force keeping it from freezing easily. Slowly they were building up more and more while the perimeter North along the tip of the Forest was still standing, though Aeregosians were coming as well. Storm Warriors were moving towards them while the Guardians and Fencers he had been engaging were in a full on retreat towards the Fort and were almost all out of the woods. Wyrm Riders were coming from the North high in the sky, likely they could see some of their ambush positions but it would be too dark to make out every single one. His Archers were also pulling back while one group was slowed down due to a strange sort of thunderclap. Tornadoes continued to be sent out from the island before disappearing just before reaching the shores. The underbrush was thoroughly dry from him heating it, in fact one of the Hydromages noticed what he was doing and began to pull the moisture from the plant life standing beside him.

Tuk didn't notice much change as many of the troops stayed at their current positions while the foreign beings held them back, Ice Mages seemed to be forming a wall of Ice between the Leongardians and the Runic Circle now, though one could reach the edges and go around. Mouths of Ko'Rhas were arriving and began to shout at oncoming ice projectiles knocking them away as the Hydra Creature continued to fight footmen and swordsmen while killing them with its deadly breath that made them grow ill and collapse. The walls were being taken along the East by the Suit at Arms, while along the West the Colossus and Nightmares were blocking them off. From the mountains behind the fort gunshots were heard as bullets flew down upon the Fort, volleying mainly around large concentrations of the iron armored Soldiers with spears.

Everyone shuddered as those with magic felt a sort of surge in their power suddenly. Voices range out from what seemed like distant places, yet with so much power that all could hear. First came a sort of angry retaliation from the North West. "Our Simple blessings you say, supposed kin. Perhaps you should see a true god release his fury upon your puny Fort!" With this said a large storm began to form where the voice came from, it was twisting and churning while creating tornadoes that seemed to ignore Aeregosian soldiers, as well the Aeregosians began to move more quickly. Shiko noticed he was even faster than before. Another voice came from the direct sound, its words held great disdain within them and an air of superiority lingering upon each and every one. "So you think the tides will purge this world? What a foolish creature, making a challenge to the gods. Very well tides, make what pitiful move you can. Perhaps they'll wash away your ashes." A wave of fire seemed to be spreading across the ground from the direction of that voice, as well the Fierans seemed to be melting the snow around them before they can even touch it. From the East came a booming voice that was louder than the others. It seemed to be heroic in a way with a great deepness. "You dare use your powers on the humans before you? Fighting weaker beings with such massive power, how ignoble. Perhaps the 'might' of Lor'mitalus should be met with the true power of Ko'Rhas!" With this there was a thunderous roar that seemed to be removing the leaves from trees that headed towards the fort. A wave of the energy was coming and those of Leongarde noticed themselves growing physically stronger. From the South West came yet another voice, this one seemed to be far more calm. It was almost soothing with each word but built up into a resounding resonance both pleasing and inspiring. "You dare to gather such energy to wipe the world of others? You challenge the very gods, and try to slay those that serve us? I cannot sit idly by while such wickedness exists. Kin or not, the light will purify this land of your influence." In that very direction a beam of light was rushing towards the fortress burning everything in its way aside from Archeos soldiers, as well those of Archeos noticed that they were able to see in the dark easily and could make out everything near to them. To the Southeast another voice came, through wicked whispers that no one seemed to be capable of trusting. There was a sort of intent behind each one, and a cruelty which could not be matched in regards to how cold it sounded. "You try to strike fear into the minds of my slaves! You dare act as if you are the most powerful? You dare pretend that there is any association between us? You exist within my own domain! My warriors do not face you Lor'Mitalus. For you face Xahk'Raah!" With that a wave of shadows crept from the direction with the grass dying and the ground turning black, Disgeran forces noticed that they were changing. Horns were sprouting from their heads, wings upon their backs, some grew tails while others had scales, claws, or even stone skin crackling with hellfire. Verminathras noticed himself growing larger in size, with claws, fangs, horns, and thick skin with flames seeping out. His eyes glowed a dark purple while his hellhounds became full fledged Infernals underneath his command. The magic he was gathering also seemed to be heavily enhanced. Fire of the Phoenix Guard grew blue in color, the Fire Elementals gained lava upon their skin, the Tempests storm grew even mightier, Seers of Scaravus were suddenly seeing much more of the battlefield, Magesmiths were stripping the dead of metals to create new Suit at arms, Paladins were sending out waves of magic, it was utter chaos. Finally another voice came from the North in the mountains. It was fairly quiet, lacking in the power of others, more humanoid though with a sort of veiled mysticism to it. "Deirenar no longer requires creatures such as yourself Lor'Mitalus. Your secret was well kept, but with such meddling in the war only death will come. I am sorry brother, but you have forced me. There is no place for you in the future that I can see." With that said a mighty sandstorm was forming in the mountains and sweeping through towards the fort, oddly enough the Scaravians didn't seem to be hindered by it at all. As well their troops, even the Taeloron, were becoming slightly transparent. Dezeroth noticed he could see through himself and witness the ground through his feet. It made them much harder to see. Finally the snarling from before sounded from within the walls of the fort, it was Lor'Mitalus. "Bring it on bitches!"

"Right!" Davrin calls to his spearmen, and any would listen. "Spread the word, tell the spearmen to start pulling back and regrouping, and use the sandstorm to hide them, and set up ambushes. Protect the stingers, so that they can continue to pelt the leongardians. Move about and try and ambush them if you can, but keep together and pull back to the narrower part of the canyon. The stingers need to be able to hit the knights. I'll aid as I can." Davrin continues to try and gather the wounded, pulling them to safety. After doing this for a while, he begins focusing his energy, slowing down his breathing, and reaching within himself.

Verminathras noted the Fieran advance with a grimace, slowly backing up further into the Disgeran lines in order to assure he would not be disturbed. Holding on to the channeling wasn't an issue so long as he moved slowly, the warlocks following him as his Ascended continued to keep a circle around him.

Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked... voices of the various Meragaia began to fill the world with their might. However, for the most part the plaguecaster ignored the puny gods, waiting for the one he knew would aid them in their conquest. And the Spectre did not disappoint. Verminathras felt the magic flow into him like a drug injected into his veins, his shifting form almost unnoticed by him as Xakh'Raah's magic enhanced his own. When he did finally realize the change, he relished it. This is what it's like to wield true power... Verminathras thought, flexing his claws with a toothy grin. He noticed that his plaguehounds had taken on new forms as well, which caused him to cackle with glee as they now towered over his ascended with plague magic pouring from their bodies like the flames did from his own. The fact that they retained their own minds, though, meant they were far more clever than their normal compatriots. They howled their bloodlust and awaited the Fieran forces that dared to venture too far into the Disgeran lines.

Mustn't get too enthusiastic, though... I have work to do, Verminathras thought, continuing to channel his spell. A low drone began to rise up from the surrounding area near Disgeran, but as of now there was no notable change. That would come soon... But not yet... They would learn to fear him soon.

Shani took up position with her group nodding softly as they where told to stay with the siege weapons. She didn't give orders she trusted the men to do what they knew was right, not that she could give orders... Hefting her staff she moved out with the rest of the group to take up around one of the siege weapons to keep it flanked with another group on the other side. she was worried about the Phoenix Guard coming their way but she was also sure that with much faith they could repel them.

Taking in a deep breath she prayed silently that they would achieve their goal, whatever that may be.

Shiko looked around at the events unfolding around him. Things had happened so quickly and with his attack on the archers they had happened without him. And now it appeared Aeregos was seemingly free from assault for a time. He could see the black riders in retreat and the Archeons ignoring everyone else. The only possible threat was the Scavs to the south. The ball of water didn't look promising, and turned to ice it would probably shoot through the tempest's storm through sheer mass. That was not good. But to the north he could see reinforcements, reinforcements larger than the enemy defences. He waved to his fencers, "That water doesn't look promising. We'll head north and see if we can get Talo to spare some men to deal with it."

Using his enhanced speed Shiko led his fencers north to the Aero army and located Talo as quickly as he could. "Captain we've encountered heavy Scaravian resistance to the south. Their hydromages seems to be planning something, collecting water from the river. If they turned it into an ice projectile or something similar they could possibly hit the tempest through the winds considering its size. I suggest a portion of our force be dispatched to hit them and disrupt the creation. If you can distract their forces I can slip through and take out the mages, then we can retreat on Shen’Giyuh's wind and move from them to the fort quickly."

With the sudden invigorating blessing washing over her Tuk found herself holding the Edge with ease, not even requiring to manipulate the steel with her magic. With a new fervor she lashed out towards the wall, calling for her troop to watch her back.

'You! Seek some of the warlords to see if they will help destroy this wall...'

The plan rushed into her mind swiftly, and she hoped that if a few more warlords joined with her they'd be able to destroy the ice wall. Wasting no time the Edge transformed into a thin spear and she struck out trying to impale the barrier. Already preparing her next phase she willed the steel to extended and push through the newly formed cracks hopefully causing the ice to continue to crack and eventually shatter.

Waiting to see if any aid would come, the young woman looked behind her and called to the swordsmen.

'If an opening is created rush the mages behind this wall. We must get to that circle!'

Dezeroth looked back at the oncoming horde. "Get the seers. I need one of them to watch the forest very carefully, and tell me when the retreat has completed. The other will give me a status report on the battles we're waging elsewhere. Tell the Hydromages to launch the water at the charging Aeregosians. Allow the others to continue making their way toward the keep; always allow a fool to make a mistake. I want the Hard-Shell Warriors to split between guarding our flanks and keeping the line. Tell the Skirmishers that they're to fill in the gaps where they can. Archers should turn most of their attention, except for a handful of groups, to taking out the Cavalry. Tell them to fire in volleys directed upward; we don't want them to see anything from us other than arrows raining from the sky."

When finally he was told the retreat had been completed, he would launch the pent-up fire magic, using the Ring to bring it to an even greater level of power. With the ring amplifying his might, he would launch as wide a wave of searing flames as he could, to catch as much of the forest aflame at once as was possible. I will make a wall of fire to protect our flanks.
