Alright. I think everyone who's been here from the start remembers how I used to make all kinds of maps to help visualise battles. Well, I'm glad to announce that I will start doing so again, by the use of this:
http://pyromancers.com/

This is to everyone here in RoW that wants to be able to set up a good scenario and needs a good map/scenario maker.
I will be using this wherever I can from now on.

Just an informative post to show you all this handy tool.

Yoink.

EDIT: By the way been testing it out, this will be really handy for missions inside of places or around fortifications/walls. The layer system is kind of annoying in how it does a layer for every new thing you draw, but so far it seems pretty handy.

Is there any way to retrieve maps without showing the whole thing? This will kind of give away the chase for secret areas and such things. I can't download the maps as JPEG's, PNG's, or GIF's. There is an option to export but it doesn't work at all and saves as an unknown file that can't be read with anything.

I don't think there's a way to hide something on the map. Your best shot would probably be to make a seperate version of the map with the things you want to hide not yet added.
And about exporting, I'm having no problem exporting and downloading the maps as a PNG, so that might be a problem on your end.

I can't export/save it as any file type, it saves as simply File, the type. Which I've never heard of before, and it can't be read by anything. In fact using open, I can't even access the file using the site.

Odd... I just created a quick map to test, and it exports as PNG just fine, and I can add a scene to it no problem:

Don't know what is causing it to not work with you. Could it be a flash problem?

It might be, I can't add tokens either.

Do you have any idea if there is a requirement for the size of these tokens, or if they just downsize? Because we could easily just use similar images for tokens. It seems like this works best while either using a small group of characters, or having each token represent a large portion of an army/general/commander/hero/pc.

EDIT:

Well you can use any image as long as you have a link, it's a good thing I've been finding images for various types of soldiers and such things just in case. Knights, NPC's, ect. All there listed underneath the tokens. A little test, some sort of "Fight through this crypt to the Master Necromancer and Lich of Disgeran. Defeat him to reduce the production of Necromancers in Disgeran." Something like that, with three clear encounters. First, a battle against the blackguard with the fencer sub-boss. After that, a room with a necromancer using Plague Carriers to fight you after being raised from their coffins, being former Leongarde Knights the corpses are extra strong. Thirdly a boss battle against the Lich himself. Just a little test example to see what I could manage, it seems like this will be a handy tool.

About the tokens, I was thinking that instead of images, we'd use something more like icons to make a much more obvious difference between the troops without having to squint our eyes.
You can also increase the size of the tokens, but I believe they must always be squares, so no 2x1 tokens sadly enough.

About the icons again to distuinguish NPCs (be it just regular troops and such) I was considering throwing my hand at making those in photoshop again, but I'd need some sort of idea of how many icons to make and what I should use as representation for each troop. Maybe you can think of something good with that, seeing as you're the one that has come up with the new NPC lists.

Tokens would probably work a lot better yeah. For important NPC's perhaps Stars would work? A Star with maybe just a letter in the center to hint at who it is. So, Kilvas would be a Star with a K, and then you could just select the blue option to denote Leongarde.

That sounds very reasonable. A star with a letter or a key symbol that befits that commander.
It can both work seeing as a legenda can also be of use when it comes to this.

I'l have to really work at this, but I might eventually be able to figure this out xD

I'm just not very art-privileged whatsoever xD
