Uai Trakand VS Assault Suit Delta

A raven's call leads the night as the full moon stands high in the fog filled, black sky. The mist enough to drape the harrowing cemetery in an omnious atmosphere, as if something is watching. Old, withered graves decorate the dead and putrid soil, which have a faint layer of mist rolling over them. From the distance, the flickering of wisp-like lights add to the feeling that you are not alone here.

A sudden sound of thunder cracks through the sky, without lightning however, as the fog gets ripped open as a powerful jet engine roars through the air, delivering a powerful combat suit into the middle of the graveyard. With a powerful smash, crushing a number of tombstones in the process, the jet engine comes to a halt, as a large mechanical humanoid slowly erected upwards. Standing at twice the normal height of a regular human. His jet engine detaching from his back as it makes room for two shoulder mounted laser cutters to emerge, aswell as a small engine whirring into motion, the tesla coils attached to it giving off a faint glow as the suit's visor lights up, raising its vulcan gattling gun, attached to the battlesuit's lower arm up to waist height, ready to fire. "Targeting cogitators active. Zero energy field powered up. Weapon systems armed. Assault Suit Delta ready for combat. Engage priority target scan."

What was once empty space was suddenly occupied by two beings, quite literally appearing out of thin air slowly, as if they had been under a cloak of invisibility that was slowly lifted up to reveal them. A man and a woman, two being that could not be any more different at first glance. One, a man, shorter than the woman and garbed in a cloak as black as the night they stood in, its hood down. Even as Delta's jets roared nearby, the wind given off by them did not disturb that cloak, as if it hung outside of this world and was not touched by it. Long, dark brown hair framed a darkly tanned face and obscured eyes darker than his hair. He might have been called handsome by some.

"And here we are," he was saying to the woman, who stood as his opposite. Uai was not paying him much mind as she scanned the area, her eyes locking onto Delta only after she was sure that it was the only thing to worry about presently. Clad in nothing but her skin and blood-red tribal tattoos, Uai's skin was as pale as the moon and gave off a slight blue glow that stood out in the darkness. Her bone-white hair slowly came to rest after the wind was past, her outlandish appearance completed by the cat-like retinas of her red eyes.

"I'm supposed to fight that?" she exclaimed, an alien accent reminiscent of a Cajun or Latina woman attempting to speak English rolling off her tongue. "You know my capabilities, Shade. They were not meant to go against the great technological advances of your kind."

"My kind? Demons don't deal with machines, woman," the one she called 'Shade' replied, flashing her a grin. "Well, don't let me keep you." And with that, he was gone the same way he had come, leaving Uai to stare at her opponent.

"Ionor, watch over me as I prepare you the gift..." Uai intoned quietly, her eyes narrowing as she readied herself for whatever this thing could do. No doubt this would be one hell of a fight... Damn you, Shade! If I die, my spirit will tear you apart!

The glowing visor of the battlesuit immediatly locked onto the two beings as his scans located the sound of their steps, or were it just the steps of the woman? He didn't truly care about it, all he noticed now, that he was left with a naked, unarmed woman for a fight. "A woman? Quite surprising that's they'd send you here completely unarmed and unprotected. I'll make sure you don't suffer too much." The voice from within the suit spoke up, his voice turning robotic thanks to the vox caster within his helmet. His gatling gun now aiming towards the woman, he once more proceded with passing voice commands to his suit. "Primary target scan succesful. Threat level Gamma engaged. Locking on target." (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6SVt7_4wSU) With a slow and soft whirring sound, the barrel of the large gun began to turn, slowly spinning clockwise, its speed building up rapidly. "Ammunition choice: Thunder Shells. Lock and load." By now, the gun was spinning faster, an abundance of information regarding his target's position and movement being measured by his visor, making sure that should his opponent try to move, Delta would make sure his gun would follow her steps. "Open fire!" With that, the sky was once more ripped apart by the noise of crackling thunder as fire emerged from the spinning barrel of the gattling gun, electricity charged bullets soaring through the sky, seeking to dig themselves into the woman's flesh, and cripple her with electrical charges upon contact. Where the bullets missed her, they either dug their way into dirt or stone from the gravestones, leaving small burn marks upon the electrical discharge caused by this.

Uai could've laughed. "Oh, I understand. I can't say that I extend the same courtesy to you, though," she hissed with a deadly flash in her eyes. That lasted only a moment, though, before the gatling gun began to fire.

Vaguely familiar with advanced projectile technology, Uai knew that even these bullets still took time to get to their target. Leaping to her right, Uai barely skimmed away from the attack, her Ghosting already settling on her body. She knew she would need to get close to this thing to have a hope of harming it, though that also meant less time for those bullets to get to her. Staying back for the moment, Uai continued to dance away from the bullets as the targeting computer compensated for her movements.

Changing directions suddenly to go the opposite way, Uai took a bullet in the thigh for not reacting quickly enough. She swore loudly, but pushed herself to keep going despite the numbing sensation that tried to run through her leg. I've taken worse before... And I'll take more before this is over, she thought grimly, slowly feeling her body become insubstantial.

Delta's visor and gatling gun continued to follow the bare girl wherever she fled, dirt whiping up violently when the hail of bullets made contact with the sand. Slowly turning on the same point, the gattling gun dug through most of the regular gravestones with ease, shattering some even, sending fractured bits of stone whipping around in the air.
"You would suffer a whole lot less if you were to just stand still." His mechanical voice barely reached above the roaring sound of the gatling gun. While firing his gun, the mech seemed to raise his free arm up to eyeheight, a display appearing, nodding to himself as his attention immediatly turned to his target, the gun continuing to lay waste to the graveyard they were in. The two sheathed laser cutters standing idly above his shoulders, and the small tesla generator on his back whirring passively.

Somehow I doubt that... Uai thought grimly as she became aware that she was Ghosting. She wasted no time replying with a smart quip. Lunging forward, Uai ignored the bullets hailing down on her. So long as she remained outside the physical realm, they would not harm her... much. She vaguely felt the stream inflict some sort of distant harm on her body, but it wouldn't add up anytime soon so long as she moved in to finish this charade.

Bullets passing through her body as if she was not there, Uai closed the distance to the mech and snarled violently. Uai leapt for the being's gun, controlling where her insubstantiality was weakest and allowing her hands to be solid for as long as was needed to try and whip the turret around to smack the mech in the head. With any luck, he was still trying to fire at her.

As soon as this action was taken, Uai took the particles she had controlled to her hands and redispersed them through her body. Landing lightly, Uai ducked and weaved to place herself behind Delta.

Delta continued his barrage of bullets at the charging girl, his visor trying to lock onto her again. "What is this? You are not even corpereal!" Before he change strategy and react, the girl was up close to him, right when his current clip ran out of bullets, though letting the hailstorm of bullets cease. With his gun now swung towards his head with a load clank, Delta snarled, taking a single step back due to the impact, before his suit helped to immediatly correct his balance.
As the girl turned corpereal again however, his scanners once more tracked her position. "Redirect energy input to zero-shield. Hurricane cannon power levels substract to 30%. Reroute excess power to zero-shield generator." His suit followed his voice commands without hesitation, as now a forcefield visibly formed around Delta, blocking the way between him and his opponent as he sought to turn around now and create distance between him and his opponent. "Begin hurricane cannon reload sequence." As he spoke this, audible sounds came forth from his suit's gatling gun, ammunition being exchanged in the interior parts of the suit. He however took no other offensive action for the time being.

(I feel obligated to mention that Uai did not actual drop her Ghosting form in that last paragraph. She's still ethereal for the most part.)

Frowning, Uai quickly tailed her opponent as he retreated, a hand going to her leg where she had been shot earlier. One benefit of Ghosting was that one did not bleed while in this form, whether she had been wounded before or not. Of course, that also meant she wasn't leaving blood to use if she ever exited this form.

A shield? she thought as a barrier of energy formed around it. Blast it all. Part of me could get through, but not all... It was large enough to prevent her from doing anything notable offensively... Which meant that she was stuck.

I wonder how that barrier would hold up to spirits, though... she thought with a smirk. Dropping down behind a gravestone, Uai let her form go and began to pray.

Blood of the fallen and the deceased,
Come hither and upon this offering, feast.
For Ionor's honor, we unleash the flood
Of spirits and demons, hungry for blood!

The prayer complete, a shift in the area began to form, summoned spirits slowly beginning to enter the battlefield. It would take a moment before Uai could control them, but likely their other-worldly nature would allow Uai to penetrate the shield and rip the mech apart.

Unaware of the true nature of the area, Uai's prayer did more than coax ancient spirits to come to her. As she prayed, spectral forms of all manners of humanoid beings appeared, their hollow, glowing eyes gazing to the two contenders as they stood in a large circle around the two, encompassing them in a ring made by bystanders. Their hollow presence caused the temperature to drop. However, their focus was mainly shifted to Uai, whose prayer and ethereal state caused her to stand out to the fallen souls, their voices calling out. "Heeeelp... uuuus.... Kiiill yourseeelf... Kiiill theeem... Kiiiiill everyoneee..." The long, whispering voices called out to both Uai and Delta.

Delta's halted in his flight when Uai dove away to take cover, glancing about as his suit detected multiple anomalies, snarling to himself. "Did she just call those?" Shaking the question out of his head for now, he began to call out voice commands again. "Redirect energy input to standard levels." As he said this, the barrier around him faded again, before his right arm raised again to get his gatling gun back into firing position. But he did not fire it yet, instead, the two laser cutters on his shoulder whirred to action, as he locked onto the gravestone that he saw Uai take cover behind. "Fire!" With that, the two laser cutters fired their thin but superheated rays of energy, moving in an X-shape across the gravestone, easily slicing through it, and possibly through anything that hid behind it.

As Uai's spirits (http://paintvrlife.tumblr.com/post/44398865151/by-adams-doyle-biography-shop) began to descend from the sky, the yynglyng began to notice that the chill that settled across the area was far more noticable than it normally was when she summoned them. Turning while still behind the tombstone, Uai peered about as she rested on her haunches, one arm extended to place her fingertips on the ground to balance herself.

Sure enough, more spirits than the one she had called had appeared, gazing at her unblinkingly as her bird-like companions settled in the air around her. See-through at the best of times and trailing shadowy auras, the spirits of Ionor flew about at random, though the direction they faced seemed to hardly affect the direction they actually went. Instead, they always seemed to flit about her head in a circle, a small river of ghosts that rotated around the nude magi. As they obscured her body, one might notice that looking through a bird inverted Uai's colors, making her black with light blue tattoos and a red aura. This color-inverting did not affect anything other than Uai, however.

Looking around as she was, Uai was quick to notice the light that suddenly appeared from Delta's direction, rushing towards her. It skirted around the headstone's edges at first before it slowly became more apparent, but the technologically impaired creature didn't want to take any risks against this opponent. Leaping aside, Uai was only vaguely aware of the sheer amount of heat that the attack produced, nearly burning her even a foot away from it.

Landing on the ground nearby with both feet and a hand thrown down to brace herself, Uai quickly sent a flock of spirits forward in offense. The birds' cries sounded wrong, as if crows were cawing backwards. Rushing forward, the incorporeal beings attacked by running their claws along Delta's body as they passed, two or three at its arms, a few more through its body, and another two along its head and gun. Their claws might've been insubstantial, but they cut as if made of steel, the ones that passed through only attacking the outside of the mech for now.

As they passed by, the birds turned and made a second pass at Delta, all of them attacking the upper body this time with a focus on the laser cutters.

Delta was forced to just stand there and take the punishment, snarling as the spectral birds rushed by and clawed away at his armor plating. After the first wave, he quickly turned his scanners to relocating the girl again, before taking by surprise as the birds returned, focusing their attention on his laser cutters. Midst the flock of birds, his left hand laser cutter was slashed clean off, sparking as it fell on the ground. Retracting his other laser cutter before it sustained too much damage, Delta growled annoyingly. "Reload sequence complete. Eat lead, little girl." His gatling gun began whirring again, his targeters focused on the girl as the same thundering sound of gunfire filled the sky, dust once more whipping as Delta sought to mow down Uai before she could make another attempt at damaging him.

Uai swore audibly as the mech's weapon sought to riddle her with bullets again. Dashing aside as before, Uai felt yet another lead slug dig its way into her flesh and still more graze her arm. Her side bled from the former and even the scrapes provided life-fluid for her to use, but she knew now that the spirits were her best bet. Staying just ahead of the rain of bullets, Uai sent another flock of ghosts to tear at the gun. They wouldn't be harmed by its leaden death any more than the other spirits would be.

Barring anything astounding happening, Uai soon found herself taking cover behind yet another tombstone while her spirits attacked. She hated herself for hiding like a coward, but against this sort of firepower, there was little she could do. It still stung. Shade, I will personally ram my hand through your gut even if I do survive this! she thought bitterly.

Delta let his bulletstorm rampage continue on, his bullets smashing through the smaller graves with ease. The bird flock this time didn't affect him much, though, as the talons of the spectral birds were unable to a get a proper slice in on the rapidly spinning barrel of the gun, aswell as the sheer mass of the gun being much stronger than the fragile laser cutters. As Uai made a rush for the gravestone, which seemed luckily enough too thick to punch through with mere bullets, Delta's final laser cutter immediatly extended, as it sent a powerful red beam slicing along the stone of the gravestone. The laser cutter had no difficulty at all cutting through the stone, slicing the top part clean off as Delta's bullet rampage now tried to get to the revealed mage girl.

The spirits shot back towards Uai, letting her know that the attack was a failure even as she still heard the hail of bullets pelt the grave marker. A shiver ran through her spirits that she felt as an extension of her mind, and the yynglyng was aware that Ionor was about to call them back to his side. Swearing quietly, Uai looked around for her blood trails, hoping there was enough to help her. Her blood control was keeping the wounds from spilling too much more, expending energy in that form taking a lot less out of her than allowing the wounds to bleed would.

It was all luck that Uai decided to move when she did. Leaping the way she had come, Uai just barely avoided the laser cutter, this time by so much that she did get burned by the superheated plasma. Her leg felt on fire, but the alien forced herself to keep moving, gathering up blood around her as she moved.

No sooner than she was out in the open then did she send her spirits one last time to attack, a flock of bird-like bodies streaking towards Delta's suit. The main part of the flock aimed for the head, hoping to cripple that in some way, but a scant few aimed at the other laser cutter, hoping to add it to the junk pile like its friend had been.

They attacked and were just as soon soaring upwards, returning to Ionor's side in the Great War. One of these days she would fight in that war. That day was not today, though. Pushing herself to run faster, Uai kept gathering the blood with her magic, forming a ball that slowly rotated around her. Some of the liquid that was trying to escape her body joined the rest, forming a sphere about the size of a basket ball.

Delta was aware of the birds this time, however, immediatly retracting his laser cutter before the birds arrived. Instead the birds' claws struck at his armor, making audible clanging sounds.
While this happened however, the dim fog that on the ground began to thicken and spread, slowly raising in height. The spirits that stood along the side howled out: "Jooooin... uuuus..." As the mist began to take away all vision further than two meters away.
As the assault of the birds halted, Delta noticed the mist aswell. "Redirect 50% of power outlet to zero-field generators. Begin reload sequence." The generator once more whirred to life as a forcefield formed around Delta, while clicking, grinding and sliding noises came forth from his gun. "Initiate infra-red sensor array." Delta's visor became a red hue as he looked around the area, able to spot the warm blood that was being gathered up by Uai, smirking as he kept an eye on her movements while his gun reloaded.

Uai was tiring quickly, and she did not like it. Usually, a human or similar opponent would have been just as tired or more, but this was a robot, an anomaly to her kind that she could not keep up with. It would continue to fight long after she had worn herself out. The yynglyng still had energy to spare, but it would be a miracle at this point if she could finish this thing before she herself was.

And, of course, the world would not allow her to have even that much hope for long. Fog rolled in, obscuring everything around her more than a spit's flight away. Swearing to herself colorfully, Uai quickly assumed the worst: that her opponent could very likely still see her. Slowing down since bullets were no longer flying, Uai slowly began to pace towards where she remembered the Assault Suit being last. Her orb of blood was held out to her side, about three feet away.

Her legs burned with each step, but Uai made herself push forward. No longer did she draw blood from her body; she was already beginning to feel lightheaded from the blood she had drawn. Shaking her head to clear the cobwebs, the alien woman held out a hand and attempted to see what she could do.

A smaller orb separated itself from the larger pool of blood, turning itself into a 'spear' a little longer than a standard arrow, hardened by congealing the blood. Shoving her hand forward, Uai launched it at where she remembered her opponent being. Likely it would do no more than scrape the surface of its armor, but left unattended, yynglyng blood was much more corrosive than human blood. She only hoped the mech hadn't moved; if so, she was very much in the dark.

While the reloading of his gatling gun finished, Delta followed Uai's movements closely, his infra-red sensors easily keeping track of her through the cold mist. He also noticed the heat of her blood orb being used to create something else. It looked like a stick or spear of some kind. Before he noticed it, the spear struck him, or rather, his forcefield. The spear shattered on impact with the energy powered barrier, making an audible fizzling noise. "Hmm... Impressive... Were there more strength behind that attack... It might have punched through... Seems I'll have to make sure you don't get that chance." Turning towards the heat signal of Uai, Delta rose his gatling gun into position again. "Revert zero-field generators to basic power outlet." With that, the energy field seemed to vanish again, but his gatling gun began to spin again. Once the forcefield was down again, the thundering noise of his massive gatling gun echoed through the area again, seeking to skewer the girl once more as his targeting arrays locked onto her, following her movements as his gatling gun roared out.

Through her magical link to the attack, Uai felt the weapon make contact only a moment before she heard an audible crackle that confirmed a hit. Only, Uai was unsure what the outcome of said hit was. The blood was too far out of sight for her to move it anymore, so the splatter of blood that was now on the ground before Delta laid there unmoving.

Then, once again, Uai heard the tell-tale whirring of the mech's gun. Impossible! How the hell could he possibly know where I am? He must be firing blind! she thought in a rage, cursing her luck. Ionor could not help her now; his spirits would take far too long to reach her.

Perhaps... A memory flashed into her mind; a desperate maneuver that had saved her skin during a fight that she would never forget. The doctor had been a worthy opponent, a clever and skilled fighter, but he had also been the first of her enemies to wield these gunpowder weapons. A desperate maneuver... but it had worked then. Would it work now?

The thoughts flashed through her mind in the second its took for the gun to begin firing. Seconds, but Uai had made her decision and acted on it quickly. Crouching down to make herself as small of a target as she could, Uai drew only a little bit more blood from her body to aid her defense, just a little more. The blob of blood moved, the liquid spreading just enough to cover her about five yards in front of her. The thickness wasn't what could be hoped for, but it should be enough.

What had happened against the doctor and his 'pistol', as she had learned it was called, was that the bullet had spiraled out of control upon hitting the 'wall' of blood. Instead of continuing on its trajectory towards Uai's heart, it had diverted (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQvqESdCk7U), jumping out at an angle from the vector it had been traveling and sailing away. The idea had come from her dealings with hunting fish before, but she had only a passing hope that that would've saved her. Yet here she was, fighting another day.

In theory, the same should happen here; the bullets would meet the shield of blood and, upon entering, tweak their trajectory enough to fly away from her. Of course, this was all based on the grace of a single moment in her past.

Truthfully, Uai was terrified that this plan simply wasn't going to work.

Delta's visors picked up the growing object of bodyheat. "Is she transforming into something? Or is that an aura of extreme heat?" He could not accurately pinpoint what was happening as his visor currently only showed the signs of heat. Nonetheless, he began unloading his gun upon her.

In comparison to a simple pistol, the power of Delta's gatling gun was much fiercer. But Uai's plan did not miss its effect completely. The hailstorm of bullets ripped into the wall of blood and did get diverted by the sudden thick, liquid mass. However, the mere strength behind their punch didn't let them divert as far as a pistol bullet would, and Uai would ultimately have bullets graze along her or dig into the outer edges of her form.

Delta, currently unaware of the effects the bloodwall, let alone the mere nature of the large blob of heat, continued pumping lead towards the girl.

Uai was in trouble. Every graze was painful, every wound taxing on her. It took energy and concentration to stop herself from bleeding, even if it wasn't moving the blood so much as keeping it where it was. There was little she could do, however. She pushed the wall forward a little bit, meaning that the bullets would hit the wall and their diverted course would be that much more wrong through the air. It only helped a little, though.

At last, though, she had a plan. It was risky. In fact, it might not work at all. But she had to try. She had to do something other than sit here waiting to die. Her cat-like eyes narrowed more as she closed her eyes and concentrated once again, her form shifting into Ghosting. Slowly, she felt her grip on the blood begin to slip away.

I have to hold on for just a little bit longer... she thought as she strained to keep control. Resigned to the possibility that she might still take damage, Uai waited until she could hold on no longer, then shoved the wall of blood towards the mech with an audible grunt. The liquid hit the ground in front of Delta with a wet smack, but by that time Uai would be fully Ghosting.

Delta kept on unloading his gun towards the massive heat signal before him, which filled his sights like a large red blob surrounding by a faint blue area. Keeping his position while doing so, Delta's hailstorm of bullets suddenly halted as he looked at the warm blood that now laid splattered out before him. He wasn't able to spot any other heat signals anymore. "Strange... My rounds are none-explosive... Yet she seemed to just have burst like a zit... Was me interrupting her transformation that lethal?" He pondered as he began marching towards the puddle of blood. "Begin reload sequence. Detach remaining ammunition in current round." With that, a number of bullets worth a few more seconds of gunfire were ejected from the gun's side, while it began inserting a new round.

The Final Blow?! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ca2fnBm-RAY)

Pain.

All she felt was pain.

Struggling to remain standing, Uai paused for a moment in the relative safety of her Ghosting mode. Her breaths came heavily, almost raggedly. There were no lethal wounds on her body, but all of them, lining her body and limbs like the scars of a self-harming child, added up to an astounding amount of blood and energy lost.

Pain.

Her heartbeat throbbed dully in her own ears. It had slowed over the course of the past few minutes. Or had it been hours? Time was funny. Uai felt her brain sluggishly recognize that she was probably dying.

Pain

Dying? That was impossible... She had not yet won. She could not die yet! Right...?

Pain.

Gritting her incorporeal teeth, the yynglyng warrior took a single step forward.

Pain.

A few more steps and she was picking up speed.

Pain.

Uai felt her heartbeat ring with every other footfall. She thought she was running now, but her mind was fuzzy. She was determined to win. There was no other alternative.

She fought the pain.

Her cat-like eyes caught a disturbance in the fog. Or, she thought they did. She was aware of a small line of blood that showed where most of her pool would be. It had not all made it that far, though most of it had. Hadn't it?

She fought the pain.

Jaw clenched in an effort not to howl in agony, Uai forced herself to focus on the task at hand. Clarity came slowly, with a fight, but it came. Delta was there, just on the edge of her vision, a faint outline in the fog. Her jaw hurt from the effort she was putting into keeping it close. Her body ached. Her mind tried to dull away again, to give up.

She fought the pain.

It was now or never. Releasing her Ghosting form, Uai returned to the land of the corporeal. Her eyes blazed with determination and fury. Blood flowed from every wound, every cut. There was no energy to spare, here. All of the nearby blood began to rise up from the ground. It was now...

The blood formed into a long, cylindrical object, horizontal to the ground.

Or never...

The blood congealed, hardening into a massive spear easily taller than Delta and a half-foot thick.

She fought...

Her hand clenched and came forward. The spear followed the motion.

Oh, Ionor, the pain...

Aimed straight at the mech's core, the spear of blood sought to end the fight even as Uai collapsed from the lack of energy.

Delta looked down at the puddle of blood, his visor losing its red glow as he lowered his gatling gun, making another scan of the area. "Hmm... No targets on scanner. Only possible conclusion: No survivors." With that, the soft whirring of the tesla coiled equipped generator died out as the mech now brought his arm before him, a digital interface showing up. "Target neutralised. Prepare for extract-" He was cut short as his scanners picked up something, rapidly turning around to look about him. "Search for primary target!" His visor once more lit up red as his scanners picked up a form that was previously not present. Finally, he could spot a silhouette shaped source of heat, raising his gatling gun, the barrel of his gun beginning to wind up again. But before he was able to let a single shot fly, something ripped through his armor plating. With a large spark, the blood formed spear dug right through the middle of the mech, resulting in choking and gurgling noises to come forth over his com. "Ngh... Agh... What... How..." Slowly, he toppled backwards, the metal suit dropping onto the ground with a powerful thud. The visor on the suit, finally died out.

Uai and her opponent were now both lying on the ground, the former shivering from the cold. By the War, it was so cold... The thud told her that her opponent had fallen. All was still, then, which told her he was not getting back up. Of course, she couldn't know that either way for certain. Only assume. What was certain was that the yynglyng girl was dying.

A good fight... A worthy opponent... A noble death... What more... could I want...? Uai thought grimly as she tried to muster up any energy at all to stop the bleeding. Of course, that was to no avail.

"You look a little worse for wear, kitten," a familiar voice said. Uai felt her body tense up as a hand laid itself on her, energy flooding into her body. She managed to find enough of these new-found stores to stop her blood from continuing its flow outward. With a weak grunt, Uai turned her head enough to look beside her, the shadowy figure of the Shade kneeling beside her coming into her vision.

"I can't have you dying on me yet, now can I?" the Shade murmured with a smirk, satisfied that her wounds weren't going to bleed any longer. Yynglyng were surprisingly hardy when it came to blood loss. Uai's practice with using her own blood in magic probably helped, too. She would survive this time.

"You... cut that... pretty.. close.. shadow..." Uai managed, managing to look angry despite her weakness. The energy the Shade had given her for her Blood Control wasn't nearly the same as what she needed to stay active. She found herself slowly slipping into unconsciousness, but fought to stay awake. She needed to in order to keep the blood in.

"I'm never late, girl. Always exactly on time," he replied with a wink, wasted on one who could barely keep her eyes open. Wrapping them both in Shadows, Jacob whisked the victorious warrior to a place where she could heal. What he had seen here today had peaked his interest. Perhaps it was time for him to seek out worthy opponents once again. In the meantime, though, he needed to tend to his friend.
