Uai Trakand VS The Stoneguard

A lizard scuttled to safety in the arid, nuclear wasteland, a sharp desert wind setting in occasionally as the dry and ruined setting stretched on for seemingly miles, dotted with burned out vehicles and shacks, aswell as the skeletal remains of those long gone, both human and otherwise. The very air itself felt and smelled of scientific abuse, reeking with fallout. This was certainly not a favored holiday location, not anymore.

Perching atop a crude stone pillar, erected from the earth itself, stood a rather large warrior, seemingly clad completely in stone as a massive claymore rested with its tip on the surface on the stone pillar, with the his strong, large hands resting atop the handle. There was no skin visible at all on the man. He looked just like a powerful golem, standing motionless atop his pillar as he gazed down at the ground beneath his tower idly.

Uai jogged briskly through the man-made desert, disgust obvious on her face as she pointedly did not look at her surroundings, her eyes focused in front of her. Jacob had told her what had created this wasteland. She was not very happy about it.

One might think a ruthless killing machine like Uai wouldn't be overly concerned with a nuclear waste, but her people prided themselves with staying free from technological advances. They did not need them. Technology made one weak, dependent, and a slave to the machine. They led to sloth, pride, and... this. She sneered outwardly as she narrowly missed trodding over a dying sapling. It had hoped to pioneer new life in this desert, but the lack of rain had said otherwise.

Wind whipped at Uai's bare skin, but she was unaware of it, similarly to her ignorance of the sun. Her race was thick-skinned and did not tan; Jacob had said something about some sort of creature named 'melanin' that lived in human skin that caused them to tan. Uai didn't believe a word of such nonsense.

Uai's jog came to a slow halt as her cat-like eyes laid sight on her opponent, the one described to her by the man posting the challenges. Calling himself 'Alpha'... pah! He must think he's some big shot, Uai thought with a smirk, readying herself for a fight.

"Warrior! I have come to match my skill with yours! We shall decide who of us is the greater this day!" Uai announced, her voice carrying easily over the barren arena, aided by the wind that decided to blow towards the other warrior. Satisfied, Uai awaited her prey.

As Uai spat upon the name of he who commanded these battles, a single lightning bolt was sent raging through the sky, striking the remains of a cottage in the distance, obliterating it.

For a few moments, the golem soldier remained still, immobile, like it didn't notice the girl's presence. Finally, its head slowly lifted as its eyes locked onto the girl, gazing at her patiently. For a few seconds, he didn't usher a single word, his gaze afixing at the sky above him. "Earth... It is said to be the most unmovable of all elements... The one that will not let itself be controlled... It is stern... Strong... Stubborn... You are right now challenging this very element... You must either be very brave... Or foolish." His gaze fixated on the girl again, as his hand slid down to grab the handle of his claymore, wherafter he slowly lifted the tip off of the ground. "I... The Stoneguard of the Six Blades... I accept your challenge... And I will teach you what happens to those who defy earth... stone... and rock..." With that, he thrusted his blade down into the pillar he stood upon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILuXiAiTYXQ), as large fissures began to errupt from the surface of the stone, the entire tower beginning to crumble as dust and debris were sent flying outwards.

As the dust settled, the stone-clad warrior was marching towards Uai, his claymore held in his right hand as it rested upon his shoulder. "Let us see if you can stand against the elements."

Uai smirked slightly as she listened to her opponent's words, cocky as they were. She flashed her teeth in a mocking smile as she was given a brief moment to speak before he continued.

"What is earth to the bite of wind, which wears it down? What is stone to the water that cuts valleys into it? When one has the patience of the earth, nothing stands before them," Uai replied, now listening to his introduction. She barely flinched at the shattering of the rock, years of honed practice allowing her to sidestep and maneuver fluidly out of the way of the larger debris, ignoring those that would do her no harm as they bounced lightly off of her unblemished skin.

"And I am Uai Trakand of the Yynglyng order of warrior-monks. And we will do battle in a joint teaching, wherein I shall teach you the strength of my people and what happens when you fight with one who holds the power to split rocks." With that, Uai readied herself, smirking inwardly as well as outwardly as she awaited her opponent. Through sheer unneeded curiosity, she would allow him the first move.

With a single scoff, The Stoneguard lifted his blade off of his shoulder, spinning the large claymore in his one hand once, seemingly undisturbed by its sheer weight as he then plunged his blade into the ground. For a short moment, nothing happened, until suddenly the very ground underneath Uai's feet would erupt upwards, almost like a landmine just went off underneath her feet, debris and rubble flying everywhere.

Uai quirked an eyebrow for a single moment at the warrior's action, blissfully unaware for that one moment what was going on. However, Uai was no child, killing a rabid wolf for the first time; she was well used to feigned attacks or actions that seemed to do nothing. Factoring that in with the fact that this warrior apparently was obsessed with earth.. well, even that child could've put two and two together.

By the time her bare feet began to pick up the tremor of motion below her, Uai was already moving herself, shooting forward like a released spring towards her opponent. Her pause had given the attack a moment to settle into one spot, leaving Uai easily able to outdistance the focal point of the eruption. A couple particularly sharp pieces of rock clipped her ankle and the back of her thigh, which bled from the light scrapes, but it was nothing to be concerned with. Yet.

Now within striking distance, Uai flowed to the warrior's left like a serpent, short, quick jabs launching out towards the warrior's left arm, then to the waist and back of the legs as she circled. She did not expect to do much if any harm; instead, she was testing just HOW hard the man was. Those jabs could easily chip pieces off a normal boulder, callused hands feeling little of the sting from such, but this man might be made of something more... durable, to say the least. SHe needed to know if she was going to be able to approach this tactically.

The Stoneguard slowly pushed himself up again as the girl's hands connected with his stone form, her jabs meeting his immovable form as the stone seemed to barely even be scratched by it, very slight cracks appearing at the impact zones, but nothing further as the stone soldier slowly turned his gaze towards the girl. With a sudden sidestep away from the girl, he swung his blade up in a vertical arc, sending ruptures across the ground, debris and rocks ripping upwards in a line before the man, hoping that either his blade or the rupture would catch his opponent.

All that Uai had to show for her attack was a group of bruised knuckles and a few chinks in the man's 'armor'. It wasn't impenetrable, at least, but Uai knew now that it would take quite a lot to break through this man's defenses. Good... all the better to challenge me, she thought.

Suspecting retaliation, Uai was already backing up when the Stoneguard side-stepped. His speed was impressive, considering, but Uai was much more unencumbered and managed to avoid the blade's slash altogether. The rupture was a different matter, however. The ground heaved under the yynglyng's feet and Uai felt her surefootedness leave her. The ground came up to meet her and she hit hard, barely managing to turn her momentum aside and roll away from the rest of the splitting earth. Seconds wasted on the ground were a few too many for her; Uai was back on her feet as quick as she could, chanting quietly to herself.

"Though earth and stone may not bleed
My ancestors still have a burning need.
Their talons ache to bring your death,
and send you along to your last breath..."

The mantra done, Uai's magic began to summon the spirits of her god, Ionor. As with the battle against Delta, the area chilled noticeably as the otherworldly beings began to stream into the arena. Uai stood at the ready, awaiting their descent into her control as she kept herself limber enough to dodge anything the man might throw at her.
