Subject Sigma VS Spite

Thunder and lightning crackled through both the sky and he crevices within the fractured landscape, pure and raw arcane energy ripping itself free from its restraints, as the very area itself seemed to be hardly able to hold itself together. Reality itself was not a guarantee in this place. Everywhere one would look, the laws of nature would be broken at some point.

It was in this twisting landscape that a dark purple hued figure made his entrance, emerging from the arcane rifts that filled the surrounding area. Like a shade, unseen to the naked eye, he rushed through the twisting landscape, seeking his next prey.

Subject Sigma warped into existence near one of the largest areas that wasn't being torn asunder by magical energies. The orb of light that bore the greek letter for the experiment's namesake floated motionlessly for the most part, an ever so slight bobbing up and down the only thing that gave it any sort of animation.

Sigma came into awareness of its surroundings slowly, its secondary processor already tapping into the computer that would allow Sigma to scan the environment and make the necessary judgements for evolution. As the scan proceeded, Sigma took its own look at its surroundings and became thoughtful.

What an interesting environment... It almost looks as if it is tearing itself apart... Sigma thought idly, now gaining what little information its primary processor was allowed by the secondary. Oh... it is tearing itself apart. That seems dangerous. The experiment might've frowned thoughtfully if it had a mouth. As such, it simply floated there, awaiting the appearance of its foe.

"Hehehe..." A dark silhouette was visibly moving through the area, only he appeared to vanish and reappear something completely else. An inconsistent pattern of movements, together with near silent movement made it nigh impossible to locate him. "Little, little man... How I envy thou... Little, little lamb... I am going to kill you..." (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4MAaGJMBdY) With that whispering upon the wind, a torrent of pure shadows erupted from behind Sigma, seeking to consume him and take away any vision he might have had. From in front of Sigma however, a lean, demonic looking being leapt out from one of the crevices that rippled with arcane energies, seemingly empowering the dark being with that as he rushed forward to try and dig one of his energy siphoning blades down into the orb.

Sigma was completely unaware of what was happening in its blind spot; as such, it did nothing to stop the dark energies from surrounding it. Suddenly lost inside darkness, Sigma became more thoughtful. Hmmm... this will prove to be problematic. Is there a way out? it wondered, its primary processor completely unconcerned with the approach of its opponent it had glimpsed before the darkness enshrouded it.

Its secondary processor, however, was whirring into action as Sigma wondered that idle thought, preparing the action it would take this moment in time. Sparks flew off of Sigma's form as the little orb of light began becoming charged with electricity, thousands of volts flowing through its rather small body.

As such, if Spite went through with its attack, connecting would ensure all of that electricity suddenly moved into his body instead of staying within Sigma any longer. If Spite decided against attacking, the electricity would simply discharge into a bolt in front of Sigma, anything that hit being struck by a much lesser shock considering energy spent on launching and dispersal.

Unaware of what Sigma was planning, Spite went through with the attack, surging the lightning into Spite as his scythe-like blades would dig down into the orb. However, instead of almost killing the demon, it infused him, the lightning being fused into him together with the arcane energy, amplifying the power of his blades as he sought to suck the energy out of the orb and leave nothing but a drained husk of its former self.

Sigma's secondary processor was once again far more adept at adapting to new situations than the newly-reformed experiment's primary brain. No sooner than the creature's blades pierced a half-inch into Sigma's being than was the fetal-staged android attempting to back away from it, unable to suppress the audible yelp that escaped Sigma's vocal machine.

Barring any sort of foul play, Sigma quickly had put enough distance between itself and Spite in order to follow up with the processor's next action; heat burned within Sigma as it was allowed to take control of this attack itself, the little android panicking slightly at the sudden surge of heat that welled up within its body.

Guided by its secondary processor's knowledgeable and non-existent hand, Subject Sigma unleashed a fireball about the size of a basketball at where Spite had been before, if the darkness was still encapsulating it. Otherwise, it simply fired right at where it saw Spite being.

This is fire? Sigma thought as the orb sprang to life before it. Why does mankind worship this simple tool? Was it really such a discovery? Sigma pondered on this as its secondary processor quickly planned out the next move.

The demon hissed in fury and pain as the fireball connected to him, sending him flying back, before using the momentum of the knockback to slip back into the raging, arcane filled crevices, sending out a harrowing laughter as the shadows began to fade. "Oooh... Tricky one... Aren't you?" His voice echoed from the crevices, as he remained out of sight.

Sigma now noticed a distinct lack of enemy presence as it searched the area again, noting that its fireball had done the job quite well enough. "I hope it wasn't too badly hurt by that..." it murmured quietly, a conscience still present in its programming. Unaware of the true extent of its opponent's abilities, Sigma figured it would have to learn more before a distinct plan could be formed.

Without warning, however, the little ball began to shine brightly, a signal that it was evolving into its next stage. The defensive matrix that would surround it seemed to go unused with Spite's absence, but the android would not take this lack of offense for granted. The light swelled and grew slightly before it began to fade, revealing a new form in place of the pale orb of light that had been Sigma before.

The child that was now Sigma was almost as androgynous as could be. No hair sprouted from its head save for pale eyebrows, so it could be assumed to be well-shaved instead of bald. The clothes it wore were simply a single light brown robe or perhaps dress which would've drug the floor had the child been standing. As it were, it floated at the same height the orb had been, about three feet off the ground. Looking around with its curious and odd eyes, the androgynous Subject Sigma awaited its foe to reappear, slowly floating around the ever-dying arena.
