Welcome.

It is 1930's in Kyoto, Japan... The Hanamachi is alight with the sounds of the night: Bicycle horns, electric-lit paper lanterns and Rickshaws carrying enchanted ladies in silk... These are geishas.

They all live in the various houses called Okeias, each house is different... But this one houses only the most famous.

[Note that only Females can be geishas, although transvestites are accepted as well... But their clients can't find out.]

*I'm sorry I didn't post in this thread first, I guess I wasn't familiar with the protocol!

The Skeleton:

Name: 淑蝶画 (Shu Die Hua)

Age: 17 (As of a few weeks ago)

Gender: Female

Client or Geisha: Soon-to-be Maiko

Image: Die Hua has a bright, round face and shiny, shoulder-length hair. She may not be the most traditionally beautiful girl in the world, but she has a kind of natural beauty that draws people in. Die Hua isn't exactly pole-thin, but at the generous height of 5'6" has the budding curves of a woman.

http://i586.photobucket.com/albums/ss303/danielleburch9893/DieHua.jpg?t=1279569401

Personallity: To strangers, Die Hua seems rather serious and quiet - not at all like the typical sweet, cheery teenage girl. The truth is, she's just never been a people-person and is stuck in her head most of the time. It's only around people she trusts that she can let her true personality shine, which is that of a smart, strong - albeit dramatic at times - young woman.

Bio: Die Hua was born in a bustling port town on the coast of Eastern China. As far as she's heard, her mother died shortly after giving birth and her father, naturally spiteful, set on a steady decline. Die Hua's childhood was hardly a happy one. When her father wasn't out drinking or gambling, he was home degrading her in some way or another. After all, "girls were worse than geese" in her beloved homeland.

When Die Hua turned twelve, her father had an affair (and second child) with a local fisherwoman. After learning that her new "mother" was just as bitter and vindictive as her own father, Die Hua vowed to take care of her younger sister (Wen Hua) with a passion.

But something happened one morning in May (when Die Hua was sixteen) that she doesn't care to relive. All she knew was that she had to run - far, far away - and start a new life (but not before handing Wen Hua off to a distant, hopefully kinder, family member). Die Hua hitched a ride on a local trading junk (ship) and vowed to start fresh wherever she landed.

Additional Info: Die Hua's name literally means "Butterfly Painting," which has always been a source of embarrassment for her. She hates the idea of being a weak, delicate butterfly.
