Namei awoke in her room by the sound of mother calling her from down the stairs. She slowly got up and ajusted her red silk housecoat as she walked downstairs "Good morning, Mother" she said softly as she slowly knelt down and bowed gently and stood up again "Good morning Namei" Mother said "Are the others up yet?" she asked "Not quite..." she said as she walked over to the table and knelt down again.

Nakamura dashed into the room stopping abruptly to bow. Standing back up she brushed off the front of her kimono.

"Good Morning Mother, Namei-senpai," she said breathlessly, "Mother there is a visitor at the doors. He said he'd like to speak to you."

Nakamura stared shyly at her feet avoiding eye contact. Ever since she had been adopted she had been a quiet, submissive girl who barely said a word. She seemed to be the perfect geisha, but was she? Nakamura sighed and glanced out the nearby window. The sun was just above the horizon.

"Oh?" Mother said softly "I shall see who it is..." she said as she bowed gently and stood up and walked over to the door.

"Good morning Nakamura-kun" Namei said softly "Did you sleep well?" she said smiling as she ajusted her silk housecoat.

Nakamura nodded silently and looked at the housecoat appreciating the beautiful patterns.

"And you Namei-senpai," she asked softly, "that's a lovely coat. Did a client get it for you? It's obviously well crafted."

Nakamura glanced out the window again wondering what the day would bring. No doubt more customers. She hoped none would ask her to attend a party with them. Parties always bored her when she wasn't dancing or playing an instrument, and she hated the fact that it made her feel like an accessory. She was not a hand bag or a tie to be flaunted.

"I earned the money for it from the last few clients i've had" Namei said softly "Mother bought it for me because I've been working diligently" she said smiling "Don't worry, one day you will become a full geisha, Nakamura-Kun. Then you will have patrons too" she said smiling sweetly.

Nakamura nodded and looked down at her kimono. It was a fairly plain black and white kimono. The white stripes were bamboo stalks that had small branches at odd intervals. She knew she would someday be dressed in fine clothing like Namei, but she really wanted to be more than a geisha. She wanted to really be someone. Sighing she leaned back against the wall. Today was going to be long.

Namei smiled and looked over at the clock on the wall "Anyways, It's best if we start getting ready after breakfast" she said softly "I heard that mother had bought more red obis for the Maikos" she said smiling as she picked up one of the small individual bowls of rice and picked up a pair of chopsticks and began to slowly eat.

Nakamura said nothing and grabbed a bowl as well. As she ate she began to daydream about what she could become. Maybe she would open a shop of sorts. When she was finished Nakamura stood up and walked to the room where she and Namei would dress. Opening the box set out for her she found a beautiful kimono (http://www.marlamallett.com/K-4209-Turquoise_Phoenix.jpg). Running a hand over the soft material Nakamura smiled. She always loved the way a kimono felt when you put it on even with all the layers.

Namei finished eating and gently stood up and walked into Nakamura and her changing room and saw the kimono box layed out for her and smiled. She opened in to see her favourite Kimono (http://www.fabrictales.com/tenji2/MUXIdoll.jpg) and began to slowly get changed into it.

Nakamura smiled seeing the kimono Namei was putting on. It was one of her favorites of Namei's. It always made her think of a beautiful spring day. Still smiling she also began to put on her kimono. Maybe today wouldn't be so long after all. When Nakamura got around to needing her obi she allowed their obi assistant put it around her. When he was finished she looked at herself in the mirror. Almost like a full geisha. Nakamura sighed and stepped away from the mirror to wait for Namei.

Namei finished having her obi with a white line on, This symbolized being a full geisha in the hanamachi. She then walked over to a white box on the other side of the room with the Kanji characters for Namei written on it and pulled out a few hair accessories for herself and knelt down to style her own hair before seeing a beautiful flat seashell in her jewelry box, she smiled and picked it up and brought it over to her protegee "This will give you luck" she said as she then tucked it into Nakamura's obi.

Nakamura blushed shyly and smiled at the older geisha. She had always been close with Namei since she had arrived at the okeia. It was almost as if she had an older sister. Nakamura gave a small bow and grabbed her parasol that was lying against the wall.

"Arigato Namei-senpai," she said softly, "shall we get going then? Where to first?"

Namei smiled "Your welcome" she said bowing lightly befire grabbing her matching parasol and tucking her fans into her obi "Well, we have a client who requested us at the teahouse" she said softly as she began to slip on her wooden shoes.
