Sunburn

Black forest surrounds all I see
But it fluffs to my mere touch
Struck into position unnatural
I peel away the boundary
And for my eyes only
It unsheathes over the Earth

The Earth softens over my skin
Sprinkling gentle droplets onto my face
Full immersion stopped by fabricked grass
Grass so easy to peel off into sin
But that could be lost forever
And shall not be given up

We lay in cushioned space
As demons circle overhead
Hands still held in their presence
Only in shadows do we grace
And flesh slides over flesh
Till we must hide again

Finally Earth grips into me
Digging fingers into my untouched
Digging in to pull me away
Away from all I could once see
And into her herself
For my times spent elated

Helplessly laying onto this Earth
Gently, I hold what scrapes me rough
Let out words only one can understand
While she guides them through her hearth
And position my whole into place
With only four smallest points of contact

The sun stops her movements cold
Burning throughout us both
As we embrace without fault
Our own selves melded by gold
But Sunburn melts through
Forcing me into shadows, alone
