Arena: A huge abandoned warehouse (http://behance.vo.llnwd.net/profiles25/660522/projects/4384371/42214be2968d1277f2aac8e6c68398f0.jpg) in the industrial district of the city in the dead of night. The rusted corrugated steel panels holding together it's roof have fallen away to the ground, revealing a starry sky and full glowing moon above where the squares have been cut out. Moonlight streams through these cracks and one can almost feel eyes peeking through the slits in the walls. It's floor is dusty and littered with trash.

Battle Type: To the death.

Post Limit: 12 rounds.

Allowed: Everything in the character sheets.

Judge: Doughguy

POST 1

The master vampire stood in the stream of one beam of moonlight, his immaculately clean tailored suit was in black with a blood red undershirt and patterned silver and black tie. The jacket of his suit rested on his shoulders like a little cape, and the blood red sleeves were rolled up to expose his bulging forearm muscles. Maladict Vladmirescu had just arrived from a business venture, which was why he was so snappily dressed today, but it wouldn't have mattered. He was the King Vampire, the master, the boss, the big kahuna, the coolest vampire on the face of the planet... he didn't feel the need to get changed for any occasion, really.

Somewhere, not so far off, a wolf howled at the full moon and Maladict smiled. His fangs glinted in the moonlight.

"Evening, Madeline," Delilah stepped out of the shadows in one of the furthest corners in the cavernous warehouse. She was careful to stay out of the direct moonlight - for now. "Fancy meeting you here. Out for a little stroll, are we? Or looking for another victim?" She took another step forward. "The name's Shadowbane. Delilah Shadowbane. B Class Vampire hunter."

She was wearing her trademark Carlton sweatshirt with the hoodie up to conceal her face and on the fingers of her left hand she had her silver knuckles. Her other hand gripped a blessed silver baseball bat.

The vampire checked his nails for a moment and twisted a ring on one finger until it shone... just... right. Only then did he acknowledge the human.

"Never heard of you, and I've heard of every hunter worth hearing about." He had a way of speaking that made his eyebrows really soar high on his forehead and wrinkle his nose in something quite like disdain. "Vampire hunting used to be a man's business, you know. Really gone to the dogs now, letting any riff-raff in... Hmph."

He crossed his arms over his chest as he turned his nose up quite literally. "B-class? Guffaw! I eat A-class hunters for breakfast. Hmph-hmph-hmph..." The master vampire laughed at her.

Delilah bristled. Goddamn arrogant undead vampire weiner fucktard. They always made an issue about the fact she was a woman. Always. And what was all this prejudice about her being a B Class? Where she came from that actually meant something, goddamn it.

"Look," she growled and trapped her bat up on her shoulder, other hand waving irritably. "Let's cut the asshole crap! I'm pretty tired of hearing the same thing over and over from you people! God! You've been around for long enough to find some new lines! Use them! So now either shut up or come at me, bro!"

The esteemed Maladict Vladmirescu rolled his eyes away and shook his head with some more disdain. "No manners. None whatsoever. How very droll."

As soon as the last word was out of his mouth, the master vampire was springing across the warehouse ground toward his opponent. The jacket that had been on his shoulders still hung in the air as he covered half the distance in a blink, and the other half in another blink. With his mouth open wide, he seemed to puff up even larger as he extended his clawed hands at her.

Delilah had been ready to jump into action at the slightest hint of trouble from her vampiric target and was already coiled tight like a spring by the time he attacked. She ducked down into a boxer's pose, silver-adorned fist raised to catch him right on the chin if he came in for a taste of her neck. Her bat she thrust forward like it was a sword and she was going to stab him in the belly.

With all the grace of a ballroom dancer, the ancient vampire rolled and spun off to avert himself from her bat. He spun like a top of scarlet and black, a blur, until he came to rest on her right side. His mouth gaped open wide, gigantic fangs making him look like a cross between a wolf and a snake, he hissed before lunging in once again to try and bite her.

Once again Delilah was ready for him. Really, the old ones were always the same. Yes, master vampires were incredibly strong, fast, had great teeth and impeccable fashion sense, but they were oh so predictable. Ever wonder what the sucker was going to do next?

Whatever was more flashy.

While he was twirling like a ballerina she was lunging forward and entering the nearest beam of moonlight. Her transformation started and with it her strength, speed and reflexes increased. While she was vulnerable to attack while she morphed into her wolf form, she still held her bat and silver knuckles and would have enough sense to jab it at him if he tried anything funny.

(Transformation will be complete at the end of your next post.)

Maladict had spent countless years perfecting his ballet skills and wouldn't have much cared for her roguish opinions on the matter. When you were a vampire as old as he, you found whatever you could to pass the time away. It just so happened he also knew how to make one hundred different animals with origami, was a master pastry chef, and had memorized all the works of a little known author by the name of James C. Higglebottom, simply because he found the man's name amusing.

Anyhow.

The ancient vampire's elite bloodlines meant that he was really hesitant to even bite such... common blood like hers. A simple b-class hunter didn't deserve to stain his teeth. There were appearances to uphold when you were a master vampire, after all. Wouldn't want the rabble to gossip. However, Delilah's werewolf blood did change things slightly. It made her more tasty, if no less common.

In another flash, he darted in while she was mid-transformation, and rather than lunge at her neck... he dropped to his feet and kicked at her legs, trying to sweep them out from under her. He also looked rather dreamy, just fyi

Standing taller than before and rather a lot more hairy, Delilah flexed her clawed hands and curled her upper lip away from her teeth. The smell of vampire was strong in her nose and it made her want to tear into something. Usually a chew toy would do the trick, but this time she had a nice juicy sucker at the ready. It was her lucky day.

Unfortunately he was still faster than her, so she wasn't able to react in time when he swept her feet out from under her. She easily recovered, though, by rolling forward with the fall and getting closer to him. She threw her long arms out and grasped onto any part of him she could reach. If she succeeded in grabbing him, she'd close her fingers around him like a vice and pull him closer so she could get at him with her teeth.

Delilah the Wolf wasn't the only one with some sharp teeth, though. An ancient vampire knew a thing or two about werewolves as well as humans. Maladict had even feasted on a few unicorns in his time, dined on some of the last of the species before they'd been driven extinct. Very expensive, you know. Only the finest bloodlines were allowed to attend, of course. Can't share that sort of once-in-an-unlifetime event with just anyone.

Anyhow, the master vampire was engaged with just the sort of person that wouldn't have been allowed within a mile of such posh vampire unliving. He'd lived long enough to have a pretty good idea of supernatural families throughout the world, and even a few human families such as the Hellsing. He wondered just who was responsible for this lycanthrope's abilities.

When she reached out for him, she caught his arm and reeled him in rapidly... just as he turned and bent to try and bite a nice big chunk out of the main artery in her long hairy arm. Maladict had something of an extensive mental library of tasty blood, built from over the many centuries, and wanted to see if he'd had hers before.

Delilah snarled when she felt him bite into her. It was a setback but she'd deal with it. The wound would heal quickly despite the blood loss.

While he bit into her she was reaching for her belt and used her clawed hand to draw out one of her blessed silver stakes. While the vampire was hopefully sufficiently distracted by a nice mouthful of lupine blood, she could thrust the stake into his heart through his back.

Maladict's long teeth sank into her lycanthrope flesh and found a delicious river of blood hiding somewhere within. It spilled out into his mouth, flowing into his maw in an unnatural way. Curling into a red column twisting it's way onto his tongue. He gulped as he got a nice mouthful of Delilah's lifeforce, and then he jolted upright as his eyes rolled back a bit in his head. The mental catalog of blood took only a moment to tell him exactly what he'd just tasted. The Shadowbane's.

"How interesting..." The elder vampire said, just as Delilah's spike pierced his skin. Her aim was true, but Maladict was an old and powerful vampire... with a heart that was black and shriveled. As the blessed weapon bit into his back, he turned with all his preternatural speed. Rolling so that the spike was driven less through his heart and more through his inactive lungs. There was a great steam or smoke that issued from the wound. Maladict roared loud enough to shake the corrugated metal left on the roof of the warehouse... but his heart was only nicked, instead of impaled.

With all his strength, aided by rage, he clawed for Delilah's lupine face. Trying to swipe her muzzle right off of her face.

This was where Delilah thrived - this was where she did her best work.

Close combat.

Having injured him enough to make him howl in pain she lunged in to take advantage of that weakness. Like an animal he was more dangerous when in pain, but she was a fast healer and willing to take a few injuries if it meant bringing the master vampire down. In strength and speed he may have bested her, but she was determined and powerful in different ways, with a host of tools at her disposal.

He wasn't the only one with teeth.

When he went to scratch at her face she opened her jaws wide and snapped at his hand. Her powerful bite would clamp down hard and lock in place - unwilling to release for anything.

As she did that she used her long legs to kick and scratch at his torso in an effort to distract him.

Her kicks and scratches would rake across his undead flesh leaving grooves, but no blood would drip forth. The cold dead skin would shrivel and tear at her assault but hardly seemed to bother him over much. Clearly not as much as the stake in his back, anyway. Maladict's teeth were bared ferociously now, looking almost as much the ravenous beast as Delilah did at that moment.

The teeth of her bite, though, would dig in deep through the hard cold disgusting skin of his hand. Once they'd bitten down, heard the crunch of a bone or two, and locked in place... she'd begin to taste him, whether she meant to or not. Like the foulest, most rotten and maggot-ridden meat, a sensation oozed onto her tongue. It was enough to make a normal human retch and vomit on the spot.

The elder vampire did not howl in pain at her crushing down on his hand, since those appendages had been dead for hundreds of years, but he did still grit his teeth every time the stake on his back shifted or moved at all. Rather than try and free his hand or even attack... he planted his feet against her chest and pushed hard off of her. He was going to try and rip his hand clean off, perhaps to let her have it as a chew toy, while he got some distance from her in a hurry...

And off it came. Delilah never let go once she latched on and although the taste of vamp was the worst thing in the entire world - worse even than the Friends theme song - she endured.

The kick to the chest sent her sailing and she hit the ground. The momentum had her sliding along the ground on her back for a few feet, thrashing and growling. She slid out of the moonlight and into a large patch of shadow. Immediately her transformation back into human began and before she'd even spat the hand out she was herself again.

" - GREEN ASSHAIR!" she finished loudly, face red and throat thick with saliva. The beginning part of that insult had been in Wolf. She'd have given her entire Fresh Prince DVD collection to have been able to brush her teeth just then, but there was no time. Rolling onto her back and then jumping to her feet she looked around for the vampire. As she did she reached into her belt and got another stake as well as a handful of crushed garlic from a pouch at her belt.

Maladict faded off into the shadows as best he could and watched his opponent. He leaped first against one tin and brick wall of the warehouse and then against a supporting column across from it. In hardly any time at all, he was standing on top of the warehouse and looking down through a missing piece in the roof, illuminated in moonlight with his hands... er, hand... on his hip.

"I thought that name sounded familiar. Shadowbane." The ancient vampire laughed then, haughtily and booming and energetic. "You aren't the first of that cursed clan to come for me. Has anyone told you how many of your ancestors I've eaten over the centuries? Are you looking forward to being the latest?"

He laughed again, raising his head up to the sky... and howling from all around answered him. Suddenly, there was a pack of ravenous mangy stray dogs streaming in through every gap in the walls or open doorway. They all frothed at the mouth, their eyes glazed over, and growled as they ran to attack Delilah.
