In the northern section of the field, there was a flurry of what looked like rose petals, before they blew away, leaving a man in a green cloak, and a lot of green clothing. standing up, he looked around, seeing his opponent at the far end.

Drawing Grimm Reaper in it's rifle/shotgun form, Jack approached slowly, waiting for his opponent to make the first move.

Ashlynn jumped over the wall on the south side, her knees bending ever so slightly to absorb the impact, her balance impeccable as she landed. Her red hair was braided, fire red brushing against her lower back, against the thin band of exposed skin above her pants, and her blue and green eyes were fixated on the opponent across the arena. Gentle, quiet feet, exposed, walked forward on the packed sand, until she was nearly 5 feet away from the man with the rifle. He had a flowing green cloak, with the glint of silver armor underneath. Her eyes traced across his muscled arm to Jack's weapon. It was strange; while it had the makings of a rifle, it seemed to hint something like a reaper's scythe. Ashlynn stood straight, calm, watching him. His dark green hair amused her, but it seemed to fit, as his silver eyes stood out like gentle moons against the strange color.

She bowed, her hands gently put in fists in front of her chest, studying the ground as she bowed. There couldn't be better footing for a fair fight. "I wish you luck," she said, Irish accents rolling off each vowel. The moment she rose from her sign of respect for the fight, she threw her hand forward in a wave, sending off a blast of fire in his direction.

"Same to you" Jack said, right before he used Grimm Reaper's recoil to roll out of the way from the flame attack. The flames just every so barely missed Jack's cloak, and with that, his eyes scrunched up, ready to fight.

Unfolding Grimm Reaper to is full Scythe form, he lunged forward, his Semblance of speed making him seem to disappear in a cloud of green roses, only to reappear a few feet away, slashing from the side with Reaper, not pulling the trigger, as he was going to save the Cross clip that was loaded.

Watching him closely, Ashlynn's eyes narrowed as his weapon took on the curve of a scythe, like she had thought. Another correct impulse. Always a good sign. The man in front of her seemed to disappear into the roses, and she stepped down into a ready stance, only in time to feel the man appear next to her.

She ducked down, feeling the sand comfortably underneath her feet. The wind of the blade reached over the top of her; at the moment she was crouched, at level with his knees, she pushed her foot in between his legs, then pulled her leg back quickly, with the intention of hitting the weak spot of balance in the knee of his leg. She sent fire from her feet, letting it linger underneath him, as she attempted her move, balanced on her hands and left leg. If her move succeeded, her opponent would fall to at least one knee, and she could roll him over, and pin him down.

And fall to his knee he did, but it wasn't in the uncontrolled style the fire bender might have been hoping for. Instead, it turned into a roll, letting Jack get out before Ashlynn had the chance to pin him.

flipping Grimm Reaper so the blade was behind him, Jack pulled the trigger, slamming towards the fire bender, while bringing the blade over head, with the aim point her head.

Happily, her move did make contact, but just as she felt him move with her leg pulling around, she felt him sliding into a roll. As she felt him move, she brought her leg back into her, and underneath her, watching him turn back towards her. When his blade lowered to her, she quickly pushed off her back leg, moving forward, her left arm slamming against the long-stick of the rifle/blade, moving it out of the range of her death sentence. As her leather brace made contact with the cold metal, her eyes looked ever so intently, constantly, into the silver eyes of her opponent. Being so close to him after her quick, agile movement forward, she brought her right hand around, moving it gracefully and swiftly from behind her to a forceful circle in front of her, a burst of fire aimed straight to his face, creating another round of sparks and crackles, steaming from such close contact with flames.

Ashlynn smiled to herself. Where are you going to go?

Jack's response was quick. he could feel his Semblance ready to go again, so it was simple dash back, disappearing in a flash of green roses. Jack was now about 20 feet back, and ready to make another attack, but with a different weapon.

pulling the other trigger, Jack shot out Back-Bitter, his dagger, which was the sharp point on the bottom of Grimm Reaper. He added that little feature after his sisters died, and he noticed the only difference in the scythe Little Red used was hers had a point, and his didn't. Back-Bitter fixed that.

The dagger landed about five feet away from Jack, who was rushing forward, having put Grimm Reaper on his back, picked up the dagger at the same time, and went in for a stab on Ashlynn's midsection.

Ashlynn felt a slight sense of ease as the man appeared backwards, only the roses burning where he had once been. As he fiddled with his weapon, the young woman took a moment to send her energy to all of her different areas, checking herself. Not a moment of contact. Her armor was in place, dagger on her hip secure. The man in front of her shoot out a dagger to the ground, and then put his weapon on his back. It seemed foolish to her, she thought with only a easy going expression on her face, as this had so far been no more challenging than a simple spar, sliding back into an open stance, her hands relaxed in front of her, toes lighting in contact with the orange sand. The fire on her palms still glowed a pale orange, only creating a thin layer around her skin.

The man, Jack, ran forward at her, hand coming out of the cape at just the right moment to pick up the dagger, and with obvious aim, went for a stab at her stomach. It was almost laughable. A forward charge at the stomach. The moment he got close, she stepped to her left, putting her arm underneath his, pushing it upwards and back, while her right arm went to reach inside his cloak with a burning hand, eager to let fire consume the vulnerability that lie beneath the green. With such an intense forward motion, her block would hold his arm in place as his arm pushed against her braced forearm. Her forearm, such as with years of training, was already braced for the pressure that would be placed on it as his body went forward with his speed, but his outstretched arm remained to the side, popping out of his shoulder, and leaving his entire body open, with his dagger held uselessly in an arm in utter agony. That was, of course, unless he found a way out of it.

Her red hair flashed in contrast to her bright blue and green eye, still watching the green man's silver eyes.

True, it would have popped Jack shoulder out of the socket, if he had kept running. years of training, along with natural speed, allowed for a much more sudden stop. it still hurt, as Jack wen nearly vertical as his arm was in Ashlynn's grasp.

As he went up, jack felt heat on his back, right now was really glad he had the brains to make his torso armor a full wrap around. Still, the heat was high, it made the armor uncomfortable.

Jack's arm wasn't left useless, and his arm may not have a lot of room to stab, but it had some. So, with his little room, Jack still went for a stab.

It was successful; not entirely, but it was. She watched the dagger in his left hand, where his arm was still being held. As almost predicted, he would try to move his arm inwards. Her neck was exposed, behind her red scarf, and all he had to do was bend his forearm in. Her right hand's fire stopped, and, moving with ever practiced ease from years of martial arts, she slid her body underneath his forearm, turning so that she was now facing the same direction of him, and, as his moved his arm to stab her at the same time that she had begun moving, her left hand curved around his arm, now behind his elbow, pushing forward as he went forward with it. Now behind him, her right hand swiftly drew out her dagger, and went to put it in front of him, to leave the dagger at his throat, ready to slide it into his vulnerable skin.

"It's the luck of the dance, lad," she whispered to him, ever as always with a litting Irish accent.

"Luck? Luck's never favored me." Jack said as he was making sure this fire bender didn't kill his with own dagger. the would just be sad. He was however, trapped. His Semblance needed him to be free so he could speed off, and Back-Bitter was in no position to be useful right now. So, what would Jack do? Something simple.

glad he left his hood up, Jack bashed his head back, hoping to do one of two things. break her nose and make her let go, or distract her and let him get a stab in with Back-Bitter.

What he did next amazed her.
His head began to move forward before she could truly get out of the way. The quick calculation of Ashlynn could go and where she couldn't in the simple moment she had before the metal came crashing back didn't bring the brightest options. She didn't have the time to move, without trapping her upper arm in a vulnerable spot. Instead, she turned her head slightly sideways, exposing the thicker skull of the upper forehead. At the same time that Jack's metal hood came splitting against her forehead, she flipped her dagger, and instead of sinking it into his throat as she could have done, she began to push the curved dagger through his shoulder, where armor connects, trying her best to let the flames on her hands lick against the green cloak.

A slow warmth ran across her lip. From the iron smell, and the liquid stream, she knew his armor had at least opened a wound on her head, not bad enough to bother her for longer than a second, but Ashlynn could only imagine how she must look with her eyes that everyone had always stared at a little too long, blood streaking down her face in little rivers.

With her grip loosened, Jack was able slip out. His cloak, sadly catching flames, and his armor now had a gash in it at his shoulder where the fire bender's dagger was. Seeing that he needed to end this, and quickly, Jack dropped into a roll, putting out the flames on his cloak, before drawing Grimm Reaper in scythe form, and lunged forward, pulling the trigger to allow the force of the cross clip loaded to add to the (hopeful) damage

Ashlynn took a few steps back and ran her head across her upper arm, leaving a trail of blood on her arm like wiping off sweat, as the man rolled, his armor surprising flexible. He quickly turned and came back at her, leading with his rifle blade scythe. She briefly wondered when he reloaded the thing, or if it reloaded itself. As he lunged for her, she rolled to the left, feeling the clay begin to stain her outfit, and popped up on her feet in what could have been a dancer's rise to Jack's immediate right, spinning in a power gathering movement, before holding out both her hands and pushing more than the standard amount of energy into her hands, releasing a massive fire blast in his direction before jumping forward at him with a readiness to deliver a quick amount of pressure-point punches before retreating, to see if she could wear his energy down, or the ammo of that weapon.

"Time to end this" Jack said, as he got up from his missed attacked. Seeing her approach quickly, along with the fire blast, Jack jumped up and back, his Semblance giving him a boost, left him in the air, with two rounds left in his mag, Jack did something only Red would have.

Twisting his body so he was angled to go down in a twirl, he pulled the trigger, spinning him around as he aimed downward, and pulled the trigger again, making him go even faster. Right now, Jack looked like a swirling green mass of death.

The man disappeared in a petal of roses again, and Ashlynn was once again left to watch her fires burn the petals to a broken black, watching them flake apart. She followed him into the air with her strange eyes, and smiled as he seemed to hover for a moment. Her dagger had been tossed to the ground in his movements, dislodged from her armor, and she reached over to pick it up. While the man in the air span more and more, no doubt preparing for an attack that would be viscous, and devastating to what looked like himself and anything he hit, she had a moment to gather her energy. The fire around her hands, ever constant, began to glow blue.

Reaching across herself, quickly, she took the dagger and wiped it across where the wet blood still rested on her upper arm, staining the blade red. The fire quickly caught onto the dagger, having something to burn, a bright, almost painful blue. Ashlynn paused for only a moment before letting the blade fly. If she had aimed right, the blade would land in a vulnerable area where his neck and shoulder should be. Either it would hit the back of his hood, and it would find it's target. If it landed on the hood, even briefly to bounce off, she knew the sheer intensity of the fire would catch, and his spinning roll might be the only thing to put it out; if he dropped quickly enough, which could potentially mess with his aim.

Ashlynn, after throwing, went to a crouching, more predator-like stance, ready to spring away should the fight continue, or take a turn for the worse, where her hopeful plan may not have worked off. She felt a drain of energy from creating the blue fire, and her gentle fire around her hands had died out for the moment, but still she stood, a cougar waiting for its prey to fall.

Jack saw the flaming dagger coming at him, and knew this was going to be very painful. Even if his other sister had a fiery based Aura, it hadn't made Jack flame-retardant. So, seeing the dagger, Jack ducked his head, and felt the heat on his hood and just knew it caught fire. He didn't drop though. he was still committed to his spin move, and plus, due to the force multiplication of two shots from a cross clip, Jack couldn't stop if he wanted to.

Last Post Discounted, Over the Limit.

There was a sudden silence, followed by a loud horn blaring. The combatants ceased, stopped in their positions. The twin gates, North and South, were thrown open as numerous paramedics ran out to greet them. There was clapping all around them, though their arena was empty save for themselves and the new arrivals. A lone figure stepped forth from the shadows of the Northern gate, the judge, a man who had been watching the presentation from the sidelines. He clapped slowly, approaching them with purposeful footsteps.

"This has been an interesting display, a fighter against a bender, might against magic. Not what many would call a fair fight, but, today was not just about martial skills. This is about presentation, ability, finesse, which both of you have shown to be capable of. Though, there may only be one winner." He pulled out a card from an interior suit pocket, opening the envelope with a single stroke of his index finger. He removed the paper, unfolded it and drew the name to memory. He took a step forward grasping both of their wrists.

"And the winner is. Ashlynn!" He rose her hand in the air. The other, letting go of Jack's wrist and patting him on the shoulder. "It was hard fought, hard pressed, both of you can leave proud, bask, rest, you've earned it."
