Low-Budget Man
01-02-2014, 03:26 AM
General Information:
Name: Monolith
Age: 811
Gender: None, Golems are asexual. But I’ll call Monolith a “he”.
Race: Golem

Appearance:
Build: Monolith’s hulking figure stands at the height of 8 feet 11 inches, tower over most humans. His body is built like a buff wrestler, hard beefy arms and legs like a tree stump. His chest is wide and jagged; in fact it looks similar to a cliffside. For the most part, Monolith is humanoid with dozens of stalagmites protruding from his backside.

Hair: None
Eyes: Deep red glowing eyes.
Distinctive Features: Monolith’s outer exterior is made out of a rock-like substance, except for the fact that it’s dozens of times stronger. The rough exterior blankets his molten lava interior, which flows out of his body like a waterfall if his rocky shell was to be broken. Inside his interior is also network of criss-crossing rock pillars However, the lava is also able to harden to reform his rocky armor. If the lava was to spill out of him like a cracked egg, part will gush out of him and other parts would stay and harden, fixing his broken body. Inside of his body lies a red crystal, about the size of a fat boy’s fist. That small crystal is called the “Red Heart” and it animates Monolith. If the crystal were to be destroyed, Monolith would crumble into dust. The Red Heart is protected by a second encasing of the brown rocky material, amidst the boiling lava. The Red Heart also produces lava at a steady rate, with the molten liquid oozing out of the Red Heart.

Clothes / Armour: Technically, none. But Monolith’s rocky body counts as armor as well.

Fighting Style:
Weapons: http://www.quickmeme.com/img/92/9269dc3335b017ad188a9efea14259855c2a3b8363c316ad93 768d6ff7323cef.jpg
Monolith, himself is a weapon. He is able to use the lava inside of him to mold weapons and attack. His immense fist and entire body can be used as a weapon; a simple charge from him would be easily compared to eight foot bull charging.

Abilities:
Shrapnel: Monolith uses the lava inside of him to form stalagmites all over his body. He is forced to remain stay stationary and concentrate to get them to form. Then at his command, he fires them off at all direction, similar to a grenade going off. Four post cool down, but takes up one post to grow spikes. Monolith is able to charge up more than one turn to get more spikes. If the shrapnel hits, the opponent is most likely going to be punctured by the rock(s).

Shardgun: He is able to produce small shards out of his hands and fires them at the enemy at will. His hand will turn into a rocky stump with dozens of shards sticking out of the stump. He could fire them off in one burst or fire them off one at a time. Roughly a two dozen tiny shards will grow out of his hand, each the size of a quarter. It takes roughly four seconds to charge up, and shards will constantly grow, giving him unlimited ammo. The shards travel at a slightly slower speed than a bullet. The fire-rate however is dependent on what Monolith wants. He could shoot all the shards at once, like a shotgun, or fire them off one at a time like a pistol. He could also fire off all of them in rapid succession, but it will take another four seconds to grow them back again. The time to takes to turn his arm into a shardgun is also four seconds, so I would say it would take half a post for the shardgun to be charged.

Lava spew: Exactly what it sounds like, Monolith spews molten lava out of his mouth. Doesn’t take a genius to figure out what happens next if the lava were to be dropped upon someone. Takes no post to charge up, but however takes one post to cool down

Bladehand: He can either form both hands into a scythe-like weapon or just for one hand into a scythe-like weapon. The scythe like weapon extends forward about five feet, but can be adjusted to four or six feet. The scythe greatly extends his reach, but makes him ill suited to take down an opponent on top of him. Takes no post to charge up, the activation of this takes roughly three seconds. The cooldown is one post. In a sense you can say it takes half a post for this ability to charge.

Shieldhand: Morphs one of his hands into a jagged circular shield, about four feet in diameter, takes roughly five seconds to make and one to cool-down. The shield is also quite useful as a weapon, slamming it into someone would do a great deal of damage. It can also be removed and placed somewhere in the arena. Same as the others, it takes about half a post to charge.

Overheal: Lava oozes out of small cracks in his body, thickening his armor as well as repairing minor wounds. He must remain stationary to activate this ability. It takes one post to repair minor breaks in his armor, it is entirely possible for Monolith to regenerate limbs, but it will take three post of remaining stationary for a single limb to be regenerated. So it is extremely unlikely that Monolith would be able to repair a limb in a battle.

Attributes:
Positives:
High resistant to fire.
Can take a good pounding.
Wickedly strong.
High pain threshold
Requires no food or water.
Negatives:
Doesn’t like the cold nor water due to the fact that his internal lava might cool prematurely.
Pathetic at ranged combat due to limited range abilities.
Confused about the simplest of things after living in a cave for hundreds of years.
Weak mind, little to no mental resistence.
Huge body structure, making him an easy target.

Biography:

Personality:Monolith may be a huge imposing creature born of fire and rock, but his mind is quite young. His mind is easily compared to a child, a big brawny child. However Monolith has insane discipline, never straying from his original path. That is, protecting the tomb of his master. Dozens of tomb raiders have attempted to loot his master’s ancient tomb, so Monolith goes and fights them off, extinguishing their life them without a second thought. Monolith takes no joy from it, but neither does he take hatred of it. It is like he doesn’t know any better. Monolith isn’t a talkative person, and stays silent for hundreds of years, opening his dusty mouth to give warning before assaulting the enemy. He does whatever it takes to destroy his enemy, adapting to fight them. Uncaring if he had creating a path of death and destruction, as long as he defends his master’s tomb and returns any stolen items.

Background: Monolith was one of seven golems created to defend his master through life and death. Monolith was born out of thrashing volcano, fine crafted by his master to be the ultimate guardian. He, along with the other six golems defended his master from invaders, killing hundreds. Monolith never spoke with the others, he just solemnly did his duty. His master was a great wizard and had no lack of enemies, but with his golem’s assistance, he lived for two hundred years before succumbing to an unknown disease.

Monolith, along with the other golems stayed at the master’s home to defend it from looters. His home was just essential inside a deep twisting cavern. Without his master to break him from his duty, Monolith solemnly stood, watching over the tomb of his master. One by one, the other golems fell in battle as looters came upon them. Each had died, until Monolith was the final golem left.
